"i'm just saying! he's an asshole!" seungkwan's far angrier than you are about your ex, and you're eternally thankful for him. he jams a straw into his drink after missing the first time, and looks at you. "you'd be mad if someone treated me that way. i know it's complicated because you work together, but--"

"no, i know," you sigh, crossing your arms. "i just wish i could be, y'know, more mad about it all."

"i'll hate him enough for the both of us." he takes a sip of his drink, watching you for a moment. "so don't worry."

you think that seungkwan might be one of your soulmates in life, your best friend until the end. the two of you turn to leave, already changing the topic to what store you want to check out in this mall (he's already promised he'll buy you something to cheer you up, and you've been eyeing this cute ghibli blanket for a while now)... only for you to run straight into someone who isn't watching where he's going. iced coffee spills onto your shirt, forcing a gasp out of you as seungkwan immediately goes on the offensive.

"i'm sorry!" this stranger is saying, immediately taking the napkins he's carrying to try and wipe away as much of the mess. he's babbling out apologies for a solid minute before he looks up, his eyes meeting your own as he stops for a moment.

... fuck. he's cute. he smiles a little at you for a moment, cheeks still flushed. you can hear seungkwan's slightly-annoyed sigh behind you, and he reaches forward, plucking the empty cup from his hands as he goes to dispose of it.

"i'm lee. chan! chan. i'm--i'm lee chan." he's flustered as he steps back. "sorry. i... i can pay for dry cleaning? or... whatever you want, i--"

you agree to it easily enough. he gives you his number and tells you just to let him know how much, and he'll take care of it for you before he apologizes once more and races off to meet back up with his friends. they're already teasing him as they disappear into another part of the mall. seungkwan just slaps more napkins against your chest, snapping you back to reality.

"if he breaks your heart," he says, "i'll hate him for you, too."

as much as you want to say you weren't thinking about that, you can't. you just stammer out a flustered "i--seungkwan, i didn't even--"

"i know that look," he says pointedly, following your gaze for a moment as though he can still see this chan guy. "make him take you somewhere nice."

It was just another weekend night, you met up with Mingyu, you decided to invite him for a drink at the local bar near your house, just because you felt like having a couple of drinks yourself.

Mingyu wasn’t just any friends but, rather a special one. Usually on nights like these you would not have ask him to met up at a place other than you house, but tonight you just feel like you wanna get a little tipsy and maybe Mingyu will buy into it.

By the time Mingyu have gotten to the bar you’ve already had 2 drinks yourself. Not particularly being a heavy weight, you felt your mind already feeling fuzzy alrighty,

“Gyu!” you called out as you see him entered, “you’re late buddy, drink up” mentions to the beer you’ve ordered for him.

“buddy?! I’m just a buddy to you now?” Mingyu huffs as he chugs the beer, “I thought you were calling me up so we can have some fun again”

“Well I was,” you motioned to the bartender for another drink, “I’m just pregaming for what will happened later.” You took another sip of your drink, you don’t know why but you just felt like feeling drunk tonight.

“Dude I gotta tell you about this thing…” You started rambling about how you got your coffee order wrong earlier this week, and then about how good the company lunch was, then to the stray cat in your neighbor, basically, you were drunk rambling.

Mingyu gave the appropriate response, nodding or making a short comment, until you were just rambling and drank so much and tripped over yourself and fell in his lap.

“oh gosh, I’m sorry, I swear I’m usually not like this,” you said as you were trying to regain your balance.

Mingyu just looks at you, held you by the shoulders and he didn’t say much, or you couldn’t really tell because your mind was already kinda fuzzy from the alcohol.

You kept on apologizing and continue rambling on what you were saying, Mingyu stares for a bit and places his lips over yours to interrupt your intoxicated thoughts.

When Mingyu pulled away, he mutters “shit… I can’t tell if I like the taste of your lips or the taste of the alcohol…”

At this point of the night you couldn’t really hear him over the music and the dimmed lights of bar, you just pulled him in, to taste his lip over and over again.

wildest dreams. it's kind of an incredibly, almost painfully romantic song. it's kind of a whirlwind romance song? while it's certainly a little hopeless, there's yearning there, and there's also so much vivid, vibrant love at the same time, a kind of possession, of protectiveness even so. it's seungcheol because of the desperate, helpless love it describes, a 'i couldn't help but fall for you' vibe that is so him.

willow. the acoustic vibes of this song feel very wonwoo. there's a sort of undying, eternal love in the lyrics, an idea of always coming back to him, of forever finding endless comfort and wonder and new experiences while loving him. there's a certain domesticity to this song, and honestly the best way to describe it really is eternal love, constant love, comfortable and thrilling and warm all at once.

daylight. it's a little youthful, bright, like mingyu. the song just exudes so much "happy ever after" vibes, at the end of a perfect romantic novel, and that's so mingyu. it's the epilogue song, heart filled with warm love, his smiles as sweet and gentle as the chorus of the song. it's hopeful, optimistic, beautiful.

we are never ever getting back together. lyrics aside, there's a lot of feel-good energy in this song which feels so vernon. honestly lots of taylor's old songs feel like they can match him a lot, because there's so much young energy, feeling a little like a boundless puppy, and i don't know. the self-assurance, the brightness, the pure pop, light feeling is something that just fits vernon.

prologue 

kim mingyu. the very mention of his name was enough to make your blood boil. he was arrogant, smug, and a pain in the ass. the day that your coach, yuna, had informed you that you would have to share the rink with the university's hockey team, you knew it was bound to be a disaster. he had shown up on that dreaded monday morning, bright and early, the punctual asshole he was, dark hair mussed and that smug grin you despised plastered on his face. 

you were in the middle of tying your skates when he'd walked by, deliberately standing in front of you. fighting the urge to tell him to fuck off, you finished your task and stood to your full height, trying and failing not to notice how the long-sleeve shirt he was wearing clung to every muscle. "what is it, mingyu? i have a very busy day today." you said cooly, forcing yourself to maintain eye contact. mingyu merely smirked, the smug bastard he was. 

"nothing at all, y/n, i was merely admiring my view." you felt your cheeks grow hot. smug, arrogant asshole. "has anyone ever told you that you're a pain in the ass?" mingyu chuckled lowly. "everyday." "well, i hope you don't mind hearing it again." before you could brush past him, a warm hand caught at your wrist gently.

"let me go, mingyu." you said calmly, not bothering to hide the annoyance in your tone. "what are you going to do about it if i don't?" he drawled. "let me go." you repeated, ignoring how your traitorous heart skipped a beat. 

then, before you could even blink, mingyu wrapped an arm around your waist with his free hand, pulling you into him, and you gasped as your body met a soild wall of muscle. 

mingyu let go of your wrist, and you let your hand dangle awkwardly in the air, completely and utterly frozen. then, he gripped your chin gently, tilting your head up to meet his eyes. his light hazel eyes glinted dangerously in the low lights of the rink, nearly caramel in the early morning sun streaming in through the massive windows. 

then, mingyu leaned in, brushing his lips against your cheek, the touch feather-soft and barely there, but you shivered all the same. "do you even know what you do to me?" your pulse quickened, and heat pooled in your stomach, but you chose to ignore it. 

"no idea, kim, please enlighten me." mingyu's eyes darkened. "are you sure you'd want that?" he asked, lowering his voice to a whisper, the grip around your waist tightening, and you knew, right then and there, that you were irrevocably and utterly doomed.
