Honestly sock opera didn't make much sense, like he wanted to destroy the laptop and journal cuz dipper was getting "too close", but the journal was needed to operate the portal which was what he Needed and Wanted. my best guess as to why he did that is cuz he didn't want them to find and go off the warnings Ford wrote esp in invisible ink but i dunno. perhaps its that the journals (esp journal 3) wrote of a way to destroy him, im guessing, since ford tosses them to dipper in weirdmageddon saying theres a way to destroy bill, but still. odd. Still my favourite episode tho!!!!

so this idea was a mix of needing some au for a theater tech assignment while listening to a tma melanie king episode, which explains alot. I havent don’t as much for many plot points but here are some tidbits:

-its a comedy cause no way im taking any of this nonsense seriously

-the capulets have rival ghost hunting/paranormal tv shows and their like the ghostbusters or smtn (“no cap conspiracies” and “monty’s mysteries” cause im ✨hilarious✨)

-instead of sword fighting they have (very heated UNO games and they always have an uno deck on their person at all times

-romeo and juliet meet at the produces party and bond over wanting to leave their tv show companies

-also for this au i image them as platonic, and they for a tight bond over wanting to leave

-for the death scene Romeo eats the “Gumball of DEATH” that he gets from a magic shop who is also owned by the person that they got “married” to by (they got friendship bracelets their) when he dies a singular card falls out of the deck in his pocket, a uno reverse card, and when Juliet wakes up she sees this and dutifully kills herself with the Soul Sucker and sucks the soul from herself.

-but they both get turned into ghosts and spend their eternity haunting their families so bad that each family quits doing the show

this was so fun to think about, it like kind of works but i quite like the goofy spin on it👍
