32. "Get on your knees." for Bloom and Valtor 😇
Remember when these were for NaNo in November? Yeah, me neither. ANYWAY:
It’s anger - so much anger.  At the world, at each other, and what they’ve become.
She has bruises down the inside of her thighs and bite marks on her neck she has to cover with makeup. Once when he’s on his stomach next to her she sees the raised scarlet lines of healing skin, and knows they’re the result of her nails. She’s taken to keeping them long ever since.
It’s painful, but a pain like worrying your tongue over a cut on the roof of your mouth. Bloom always swears this time, she’ll stop for good. There have been plenty of times Baltor’s thrown her out of Cloud Tower, screaming to never come back unless she wants to end up like Faragonda. Sometimes they manage to stay away from each other for several days. She even dreams about mundane things like school dances and homework.
The last time Bloom dreamed, she’d woken up to him in her bed at Alfea, one hand dipping between the waistband of her shorts while the other covered her mouth, keeping her gasps from waking anyone. She lost track of how many times she’d come that night, Baltor whispering praise into the skin of her shoulder.
It’s a vicious cycle of inflicting pain until it’s too much, and someone breaks and shows a morsel of compassion that the other takes. Then they get mad all over again because no, they can’t have compassion, not when this is happening.  It’s easier to watch a human smash into a concrete wall when you remember they ripped a section of hair from your skull two nights ago, not that they held you to their chest and moaned your name.
She thinks of Sky sometimes, when she’s alone. How open their relationship had been, before Diaspro reclaimed what was originally hers. How that, ironically, started this entire mess because Bloom had been desperate to get him back, no matter the cost. Only one man offers her a guarantee, for a very expensive price.
She pays it. Sky’s been free of dark magic for weeks now, Diaspro in a cell awaiting trial on Eraklyon.
Still, she comes back.
She’s been degraded, doesn’t know how many times Baltor’s told her to get on her knees in Griffin’s office or the sorcery lab. Sometimes she fights back, leaving him with a scar or an unusable potion because she’s swiped it off the counter to push him onto it. It’s almost better when she doesn’t, instead keeping her gaze locked onto his while mouthing the line of his cock through those ridiculously old fashioned pants. Those are the only nights she feels like she wins anything, that she might actually have a legitimate reason to keep doing this.
She doesn’t, though. Not really. She shouldn’t want a damn thing he offers her. Her family, friends, boyfriend - it should all be enough. It used to be. And the realization that it isn’t anymore infuriates her, starting the cycle over again.
There is no winning. There is only tiptoeing towards an invisible line that, when crossed, will change the trajectory of everything she’s known. She won’t walk so much as be dragged across it, clinging onto the half she wasn’t aware she had until months ago. The thought terrified her only months ago.
There are bags under her eyes, teeth marks on her collarbone, and fingerprints burned into the flesh of her hip like a pseudo-mark. She looks like she’s been in war, and in a twisted way she has.
The sun sets. The bustle of campus goes quiet. Her roommates go to sleep.
Bloom goes to Cloud Tower.
I wanted to write something but not any current WIPs. Here we are instead.

baby steps
@omg-just-peachy peaches got this ask and nominated me to write it (i wonder why, ‘s not like angst is my brand or anything like that 👀) and hopefully i have delivered anon! i edited the prompt ever so slightly, but i hope you don’t mind. i tried really hard to give this a happy ending but i’m not very good at those so im sorry if its not up to par
//
It hadn’t been easy
AIM had been dormant for so long that Tony had almost forgotten they existed, letting his EXTREMIS protocols go lax while he focused all his time on other things (like warring between wanting to fix things with Steve and also never talking to him again)
clearly that had been a mistake, because AIM had been working on a way to control EXTREMIS, and Tony might have gotten it out of Pepper, but he never got it out of himself
Mid way through the battle he felt his body seize up, limbs thrust over and moving off their own accord, and he managed to get out a staggered, “Steve - I need help” because they took control of his senses too, making him mute and seeing through his eyes
It hadn’t been easy, because the Avengers were no longer fighting AIM, they were fighting him
and after Siberia, Tony knew exactly how to take every single one of them down
It’d been sheer luck that Tony had managed to get to Steve in time, and that Steve remembered his protocols from back when they were friends (or maybe they still were? Tony could never figure out his emotions)
Steve had barked it up, and Tony felt the armour disassemble around him - and free-falling was patently more terrifying when you had no control over your body; but Thor caught him mid fall and held him down until Natasha figured out how AIM was controlling EXTREMIS and shut down the operation
Tony felt like he was a puppet who’s strings had been cut and he abruptly slumped against Thor, the adrenaline pumping out of his system and making way for extreme exhaustion
The last thing he saw before he passed out was the blurry figure of Captain America walking towards him
/
“Tony - Tony - Tony!” Steve slaps his cheek repeatedly, leaning back when Tony stirs
He breathes a sigh of relief when Tony coughs and groans, slumping back against his heels and trying to still his thumping heart
what if - no Steve shakes his head to dispel any such thoughts, after all- Tony was waking up under him and he was going to be fine
The relief is short lived however, when Tony realises how Steve is sitting -straddling his hips because it was the quickest way to wake him up - and scrambles out from under him
Tony’s eyes are blown wide and he clutches at the nano- reactor housing his armour instantly, though he doesn’t activate it
‘Tony - ?” Steve asks, reaching out to him in an movement that's aborted when Tony flinches away from him, before pushing up onto his feet desperately
“No!” Tony shouts, “No - just, just stay away”
And then he spins on his heels and just, runs away from Steve - leaving Steve looking after him forlornly on his knees - arm still stretched out to reach him
/
“Hey,” there’s a knock on Steve’s door - and he looks up to see Tony leaning against the frame
He’s changed since the mission, into a pyjama bottom and a threadbare tshirt that falls off his shoulder
It looks oddly familiar, but Steve doesn’t think this is the time to ask whether its his
“Hey,” Tony says softly, “do you have a couple of minutes to talk?”
for you i have a lifetime, Steve thinks but he says, “yes ‘course”
“I wanted to uh - “ Tony licks his lips, and Steve valiantly focuses on not letting all of his blood rush south, “I wanted to explain what happened on the mission today”
There’s a couple moments pause and then -
“I have nightmares,” Tony says abruptly, “nightmares of Siberia. Of you...” pushing your shield into my heart over and over he doesn’t say but Steve gets it
He got it a second after Tony ran away from him
“..you know,” Tony says instead, “and when I woke up you were in a similar position and I just, freaked out I guess”
“Tony,” Steve says delicately, because they haven’t talked about Siberia since he got back and this is important, “I can never make up for what I did in Siberia. You must know how utterly sorry I am, but I understand if you never forgive me”
“But I promise you,” he takes a chance and leans forward to clasp Tony’s hands, “I will never hurt you like that again”
“Hurting you was,” Steve blinks back tears, “doing that to you was the biggest regret of my life - and I will spend the rest of it making it up to you. If you let me”
Tony looks at him for a couple of seconds, searching his face for something
He must find it, because his lips crinkle into a soft smile and he squeezes Steve’s hand back, “I know Cap. And I’m working on trusting you. Baby steps right?”
Steve nods, “baby steps”

fic writer meme
Tagged by: @dame-lazarus
AO3 name: Aviss
Fandoms: Current GoT (JaimexBrienne), Naruto (Kakairu) and One Piece (yes, I fell again. I am going to write that damned Sabo saves Ace fic). Previous quite a few, of note Bleach, Inception, Good Omens and Avengers. And HP in my native Spanish.
Tropes: Domesticity, banter, enemies to friends to lovers, canon divergences and fix-its
Number of fics: 250 in English and 43 in Spanish. Though there are a few which I translated so they're the same in both languages.
Fic I spent the most time on: I think Butterfly Effect, since it was almost an entire month of writing daily for Nano. Even when I have taken longer to write other fics I had not been working on than daily.
Fic I spent the least time on: Tickle me pink was literally written in 60 minutes. I used to do that a lot, though nowadays it takes me a bit longer than that
Longest Fic: The Right Question (56254 words)
Shortest Fic: I used to do a lot of 100 words drabbles I never moved to ao3 from my LJ, according to ao3 the shortest is Last Sane Thought (211 words)
Most kudos: Shortsighted
Most comment threads: Butterfly Effect
Most bookmarks: Shortsighted
Total word count: 1.166.823 (wow, just wow. I had a  very productive last year, which accounts for about 40% of that!)
Favorite fic I wrote: Once More With Feeling, I think over the years and the fandoms nothing has got as close to perfect for me as that one. It just flowed and I still find it scary, I think there is nothing I would change on it *(except typos and grammar issues, I wrote it a long time ago, my english has improved)
Fic you want to rewrite/expand on: No Harm Ever Came from Reading a Book (AKA, The Mummy AU) it needs rewriting because I don't like where it's going and if I don't like it I can't expect people to read it, so I  have it marked for re-writing I just need to identify where I went wrong so I don’t get stuck again while I try to fix it.
Share a bit of a WIP or a story idea you’re planning on: From the prompt I am working on right now:
Being a cop in King's Landing was nothing like Brienne had envisioned while growing up in Tarth.
King's Landing was supposed to be a metropolis, multicultural and exciting and a lot more progressive than a little backwater island where everyone knew everyone else and Brienne couldn't take two steps without it being reported to her father, Tarth's Chief of Police. She had imagined that once she was away from his sphere of influence and the island's people's preconceptions of what a woman should and shouldn't be, she would be able to rise through the ranks with her abilities and hard work. And yes, King's Landing was a metropolis; women wore shorter skirts and less cloth on their bodies, or lots and lots more of cloth and only black. They had colourful hair or shaved heads, and tattoos and piercings, and they dated when they wanted and who they wanted, or not dated anyone. They could wear no make-up or tons of it, they could wear heels or flats or walk barefoot for all people cared.
There were just two things women were not allowed to comfortably be, ugly and a cop in KLPD. At least not under Captain Tarly, who made the people of Tarth feel modern and seemed to have a special hatred for Brienne for daring to be good at her job but not pleasant to look at.

1-50 of the writers ask thingy, tell me everything :D
D:
1 : What age-group do you write?adult! ive always written characters my age or a few years older
2 : What genre do you write?sff, mostly fantasy
3 : Do you outline according to big ideas or small details?hmmm, i guess small details? when i get an idea, i get an idea for single scenes or pieces of dialogue or a certain character, so i piece together an outline from that. but i have trouble with a overarching plot lol
4 : Which do you prefer–line-editing or plot-revisions?line-editing, i love editing. revisions suck bc it takes me 10,000 yrs to come up with an idea and now i have to replace it with another??? blasphemous
5 : Do you write better with or without deadlines?ive written my whole life without deadlines except for when i tried nano last year and failed. so without i guess, but then i dont have anything to convince me to write more lmao
6 : What would be the biggest compliment you could hope to receive on your current WIP?idk probably that its someones favourite book, or to see fanart *.*
7 : How long is your current WIP?26,305 words, its a rewrite heh
8 : What author would you be most excited to be compared to?hummmmmm,,,idk when people call new fantasy books “the next game of thrones” it sounds so fake lol but idk who my favourite author is...
9 : What do you struggle most with as a writer?writing
10 : Do you brain-storm story ideas alone or with others?mostly alone but YOU, ASH, help sometimes. its good to get an objective ear
11 : Do you base your characters off of real people?nah lol, im not good at characters
12 : Is your writing space clean or cluttered?clean
13 : Do you write character-driven or plot-driven stories?plot-driven. my writing is extremely fast paced, and i dont tend to like reading character-driven works
14 : Do you have a favorite writing-related quote?ive answered this in previous ask. the 'drunk on writing’ one by ray bradbury
15 : If you transport your original characters into another author’s world, which world would you choose?everyone else’s worlds are so harsh lol maybe id put them in atla so they can fuck around w bending
16 : Would your story work better as a movie or tv show? Why?miniseries ゚*。(・∀・)゚*。 but it would lend itself to a movie yeah
17 : Do you make soundtracks for each story?nah, lazy ass
18 : If you could assign your story one song, what would it be?unbecoming by starset
19 : Would you rather live in your characters’ world, or have your characters come live in our world?honestly? i wanna escape capitalism and wield a sword
20 : What book would you love to see adapted for the big or small screen?zero world by jason m hough!!!! its a pretty big book i think a movie duology or a tv show would work!
21 : Do you finish most of the stories you start?no
22 : Has your own writing ever made you cry?no lol
23 : Are you proud or anxious to show off your writing?anxious cz im bad
24 : When did you start considering yourself a writer?i meannnnnnnn do i even now thoooooo
25 : What books are must-reads in your genre?sff is so broad, read whatever tf u want
26 : What would you like to see more of in your genre?diversity, not just in race gender sexuality but in fucking plots like damn give me something w a twist
27 : Where do you get inspiration from?real life, books, movies
28 : On a scale of 1-10, how much do you stress about choosing character names?about a 2, i just search on a generator until i find one i like im not a stickler for names nd i dont usually have placeholder names or anything
29 : Do you tend to underwrite or overwrite in a first draft?chronic underwriter hence the only 20k words
30 : Does writing calm you down or stress you out?calm me down, i have no control over my own life so its good to have complete control over my oc’s lives. i dont tend to have the ‘characters run away from me’ thing, but probably bc i dont see it like that lol
31 : What trope do you actually like?ride-or-die, charas who are knowledgeable and badass from the beginning, i hate following the character learning to do something lmao im impatient
32 : Do you give your side-characters extensive backstories?depends on the side character, every character is fleshed out to an extent but i dont do a massive family tree or anything
33 : Do you flesh-out characters before you write, or let their personalities develop over time?i tend to create characters before plot so i would say i know them pretty well before starting but i do let them develop naturally within the story without forcing them into any box
34 : Describe your old writing in one word.tryhard
35 : Is it more fun to write villains or heroes?mmm both have their merits, i went through a phase where i loved villains but a warped heroes journey or a morally grey/anti-hero can be super good too
36 : Do you write with a black and white sense of morality?nah, murky
37 : What’s one piece of advice you would give to new writers?try anything. anything it doesnt matter if ur nervous or you ‘dont write in that genre’ or you dont even like that genre. its good to train yourself and go out of your comfort zone, makes u a better writer imo. also dont read this and think ‘im not writing an entire historical romance novel bc i hate it’ i mean just one shots. a paragraph or two. try out writing prompts, it really flexes ur skillsalso dont feel like everything u have to write will be published, thats what i mean by try out little paragraphs or prompts. let go of this idea that any of this work will see the light of day [unless u rly want it to] and just have fun, go wild, go crazy, go stupid
38 : What’s one piece of writing advice you try–but fail–to follow?its mostly those ones that help u have cleaner, more beautiful writing. i write really beige-like and its hard to be poetic or flowery
39 : How important is positive reinforcement to you as a writer?probably super important
40 : What would you ask your favorite author if given one question?when ur next book out
41 : Do you find it distracting to read while you’re writing a first draft?nah
42 : Do critiques motivate or discourage you?ive never really had many, so i would say discourage bc i dont have a thick skin with my writing
43 : Do you tend to write protagonists like yourself or unlike yourself?unlike myself, i like to write bold, confident characters and im not that lol escapism much
44 : How do you decide what story idea to work on?whichever interests me the most at the moment, i can jump between projects easily so i dont have a problem
45 : Do you find it harder or easier to write when you’re stressed out?harder, i cant look at my writing if im stressed else ill absolutely hate it and might do something drastic like delete it all lol
46 : What Hogwarts house would your protagonist(s) be in?ary is slytherincyri is ravenclawash is gryffindorcaena is slytherin [i dont know how to spell the house names]
47 : Where do you see yourself as a writer in five years?still writing id hope
48 : Would you ever co-write?nah
49 : Are you a fast and rushed writer or a slow and deliberate writer?i used to be fast and rushed bc i was so impatient i just wanted to see the end product but i realised that i really love being in the world of my wips as long as possible so i draw it out and really mull everything over
50 : Would you rather be remembered for your fantastic world-building or your lifelike characters?both lol? i do love worldbuilding but i think characters make a greater impact

Since I haven’t been able to write, so I’m answering these fanfic writer questions. I decided to go ahead and do them all because...why the hell not? I will try to answer from both fandoms I’m in - Fallout 4 and Mass Effect.
It will be under the cut because it’s long ;)
Fanfic writer questions
favorite fic you wrote this year -  For Fallout 4: Ode to Eyebrows (fallout 4) - a collab with an amazing artist @marvilus73 about Danse’s eyebrows featuring her f!sole Charlie! For Mass Effect:  Think I’m going to have to go with the first one I wrote for the ME fandom - When Darkness Comes. I had no idea I could write angst before this game. It’s fshenko and I’m still ridiculously proud of it.
least favorite fic you wrote this year - Alliance Training for Kaidan appreciation week. It didn’t turn out the way I wanted it to and in fact, I think it was just too long and too detailed.
favorite line/scene you wrote this year - line:  I actually have several I’m really proud of but we’ll go with these. Mass Effect AU - “Face it, I’m my own brand of badass and you’d be lost without it. Now turn around and I’ll help strangle you with that.” Scene was in Fallout 4:  It’s long, so I’ll link it here if anyone cares to actually read it. Starts with the sentence after the second line break, "Walking slowly and carefully..." ends with "Maybe we could begin again?" -- I love this scene because it’s really emotional for Alice, my f!sole, which is unusual for her.
total number of words you wrote this year - Wow. A lot. I think I’ve been most prolific this year after finding myself immersed in the Mass Effect fandom. So, I will include anything written for A New Reality (Fallout 4) and anything Mass Effect, including NaNo.  Basically, not counting A New Reality (chapts 10 through current!) or the endless bits and pieces I have, over 50 thousand words.
most popular fic this year - (By hits) Fallout 4: Confusion. A little drabble about Boone and Danse. Boone realizes that Danse is more to him than just a a fellow soldier to travel with, more than just a friend.
least popular fic this year - Mass Effect - How It All Began. Written for Shepard appreciation week. A brief glimpse at Riley’s beginnings.
longest completed fic you wrote this year - Not counting my ongoing long-fic for Fallout 4, it would be Supergiant (3330), which was written for Shepard appreciation week. An mshenko fic about some emotional upheaval in John’s life concerning his scars.
shortest completed fic you wrote this year - Mass Effect: Haunted (245). From a prompt list on tumblr. An mshenko/fshenko (neutral) drabble.
longest wip of the year - Fallout 4: A New Reality (ongoing). About my f!sole Alice and her journey through the Commonwealth. A lot more involved than that but...yeah.
shortest wip of the year - At the moment? Would probably be a Mass Effect wip -- Shore Leave part 2. An mshenko continuation of sorts to something I wrote for Kaidan appreciation week.
fandom you enjoyed writing for the most this year -  Mass Effect. Wow..this game blew me away. The interactions between the characters, the dialogue - serious, hilarious, snarky - all of it. The characters felt like family in a way I didn’t get from Fallout 4 (the only other game I’ve been completely immersed in). It gave me incredible creativity with my writing, getting me to write POVs and emotions I’d never written before. It’s been a wild ride and I’ve enjoyed every single minute!
favorite character to write about this year - Long answer, which you can find here!
favorite writing song/artist/album of this year - I think I’ll go with Breaking Benjamin because their music has been the most consistent influence with writing ME fanfic.
a fic you didn’t expect to write - Anything Mass Effect? I didn’t expect to fall quite so hard into this black hole that literally took over my life. Then, we can go a little further and say anything mshenko. They also took over my life and honestly, I think I’ve done some of my best work writing about the boys and their ME romance. (I was going to elaborate as to why but we’d be here forever lol) I suppose I should list the one that really blew me away as a writer. That would be - A Wonderful Life (AO3 title - Black holes/Neutron stars for Shepard appreciation week).
something you learned this year - It’s okay to lose momentum. It’s okay to step back and take a break. I don’t have to like it -- and believe me, I don’t and I’m really having a hard time with that -- but it is okay.
fic(s) you completed this year - That’s a thing? Endless drabbles/one-shots...whatever you call them.
fics you’ll continue next year - Pirate AU, MEBB fic (which may or may not be used for that), A New Reality
current number of wips - 3 major ones, a lot of one-shots
any new fics to start next year - Not if I can help it! We’ll see what happens ;)
number of comments you haven’t read - Exactly zero. I read them all and do my best to respond.
most memorable comment/review -  Damn. I honestly had quite a few that made me grin and/or laugh and it’s so hard to choose! Mass Effect: OH MY GOSSHHH IM DEAD D ECEASED this is so sweet omg !! and your writings absolutely lovely ! Fallout 4: MAX I FOUND YOUR SINS lol Deacon tho. Gotta hand it to him. He scores some devious pointage ;)“Blue, he wouldn’t know fun if it ran straight at him. He’d probably laser it to death.” Fucking yes lmao Verdict: cute af, would read again. you rock
events you participated in this year - NaNo...though that was a bomb lol, Mass Effect Flash Fanwork, Shepard appreciation week, Kaidan appreciation week, Sole Party 2.0 (Fallout), several different themed prompts for Mass Effect, Cactuarkitty’s Mass Effect Romance week. There might be more...it’s been a proliferative year for me as a writer, which may explain my burnout!
fics you wanted to write but didn’t - Mass Effect: Pirate AU for ME, though I have started it. I was trying to finish it for NaNo and get it out before the end of the year. However, that didn’t quuuuite happen xD Fallout 4: Finish Boone’s story after the Institute maybe someday
favorite fic you read this year - Fallout 4:  Always By Your Side  Mass Effect:  There were 2 and I refuse to choose between them. Soldier’s Heart and Wish You Were Here.
a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read - See above question.
number of favorites/bookmarks you made this year - 6 between both fandoms (AO3).
favorite fanfic author of the year - There are way too many that I absolutely love and go back and reread what they write. I refuse to narrow it down or accidentally exclude anyone.
longest fic you read this year - Mass Effect: (still reading) Zero Hour from @scottrydcrs. To be honest, I’ve read quite a few long fics this year. I don’t remember them all but that is my current one that I’m thoroughly, enjoyably immersed in ;)
shortest fic you read this year - Mass Effect: Welcome to the Suck  xD from @nightmarestudio606
favorite fandom to read fic from this year - Mass Effect. The fandom has been around for so long that I keep finding hidden gems every time I search back a little further in various tags. It’s like searching for treasure and always finding a bit of sparkle in places you wouldn’t expect it. I love it!

I’m probably not going to do NaNo in like, the traditional sense but I *am* planning on trying for increased writing with word count goals next month mostly focusing on one of my main two stories that i really need a working title for so that it’s easier to talk about...
anyway i wanna start getting ready and getting into things so im planning to look for & reblog some prompt list or ask meme kinda things... if u wanna send asks the characters of this story are the bottom six on my oc page , and i’d always love to tell you more about them or about other secondary characters & stuff
also there’s some posts on the story/world tagged ‘edefana’ on my blog if u wanna know more
