Alright I’m going to say it. Annabeth being scared of Percy when he tried to kill Akhyls was one of the most ooc things I’ve read. Like she’s the one who has the most reason to hate the gods out of all of them (yes even Percy).
The first time she comes to camp she sees her best friend die for them and what did the gods do? Turn her into a tree. Then, her other best friend is so desperate to be recognised by his father that he ends up turning to Kronos to get back at Hermes instead.
Then, as if all of this isn’t enough, she goes on to be friends with Percy who she knows would die at 16. She fights against Luke, her oldest friend, and even ends up killing him so that the gods can continue ruling. Then, somehow, miraculously her boyfriend turns 16 and she can finally finally relax but nope the gods won’t let her. Percy gets kidnapped and sent to a hostile camp she can’t visit while she’s thrown into another great prophecy against her will. Oh, and her mother also abandons her in the midst of all this criss like??
I genuinely can’t see Annabeth supporting the gods or even liking them at this point. She’s been pushed to the brink numerous times and she’s done. Give me Annabeth who’s threatening gods to help them because she is so done with them sitting on their asses doing absolutely nothing to help them.Give me Annabeth who kills Akhyls the minute she’s outlived her usefulness.
Give me Annabeth who’s ready to tear Hera to the ground for dragging her into this mess. This girl was the one who defended Olympus despite being on death’s doorstep seconds ago, the person who killed people she’s known for multiple years because they were on the opposing sides. This is the girl who was trained to be a loyal soldier to Olympus since she was 7 but has reached her boiling point so she will use those skills to burn them to the ground.
Look me in the eyes and tell me Annabeth wouldn’t turn dark I dare you.
