Chapter 5: In the Spotlight

Rating: General Audiences
Warning: none
Paring: Paige Bueckers x !photographer fem reader
Fandom: Women's basketball
Summary: being the "babysitter"= fun...right?
Welcome to the chapter 5 of Through The Lens. I hope you all enjoy and there is more to come...stay tuned my loveies!! đđđž
The whispers started as soon as I entered the gym for practice the day after the Villanova game. People were staring, their eyes darting between their phones and me. A couple of players from the menâs team even snickered when I walked past.
I didnât understand what was going on until KK intercepted me by the bleachers, her expression somewhere between amused and concerned.
âYou okay?â she asked.
âYeah, why wouldnât I be?â
She sighed and held up her phone. On the screen was a blurry video of me walking into the locker room at Villanova. The caption read: âPaige Bueckersâ mystery girl? đâ
I groaned, my face heating up. âAre you kidding me? This is so out of context!â
âYeah, but people love a good rumor,â KK said, scrolling through the comments. âMost of them are just shipping you and Paige.â
âShipping us?â I echoed, incredulous. âWeâre not evenââ
âRelax,â she cut in, her tone gentle. âItâs just noise. Donât let it get to you.â
But it did get to me. All day, I couldnât shake the feeling that everyone was watching me, judging me. By the time practice ended, I was ready to throw in the towel on my entire final project.
I went straight to Coach Genoâs office, my camera bag slung over my shoulder. He looked up from his desk, his brow furrowing when he saw me.
âY/N, whatâs going on?â
âI canât do this anymore,â I said, placing my project proposal on his desk. âThe rumors, the staresâitâs too much. I didnât sign up for this.â
He leaned back in his chair, studying me. âLet me ask you something. Why did you choose this project?â
I hesitated. âBecause I wanted to challenge myself. To tell a story that mattered.â
âAnd do you think youïżœïżœve done that so far?â
âI donât know,â I admitted, my voice barely above a whisper.
He stood, walking around his desk to stand in front of me. âI see potential in you, Y/N. You have an eye for thisâan instinct. Donât let a bunch of gossip derail what could be an incredible project. Push through. Finish what you started.â
I nodded, his words sinking in. âOkay. Iâll try.â
Later that evening, I found myself in the gym. The empty court was a welcome reprieve from the noise of the day. I was adjusting my camera settings when the sound of sneakers on hardwood made me look up.
Paige.
âHey,â she said, her smile soft. âMind if I join you?â
I shook my head, and she dropped her bag on the sidelines before walking over. âRough day?â
âYou could say that,â I replied, letting out a bitter laugh.
âLet me guess,â she said, crossing her arms. âThe video?â
I nodded, surprised she even knew about it.
âPeople are ridiculous,â she said. âBut you canât let them win. Come on.â
She grabbed a ball and motioned for me to follow her to the three-point line. âLetâs work off some of that pressure. I mean granted im kinda banned drom practice though.â
âIâm terrible at basketball, and yeah you are banned.â I warned.
âThen itâs a good thing youâve got me as your coach, speaking of coah i asked fo sit with you..so like you're my babysitterâ she said with a evil grin.
The first few shots were laughably bad, but Paige was patient, adjusting my form and giving me tips. By the time I finally sank a three, I was laughing so hard I almost dropped the ball.
âThere you go!â she cheered, throwing her arms in the air.
âBeginnerâs luck,â I said, but I couldnât stop smiling.
She pulled out her phone, recording me as I took another shot. âFor posterity,â she said when I gave her a questioning look.
âHang on,â I said, running out to my car to grab my personal camera. When I came back, she was dribbling the ball lazily at half-court.
âLetâs use this instead,â I said, setting up the tripod.
We spent the next hour goofing off, filming everything from trick shots to ridiculous commentary. Paige even tried to reenact her infamous Villanova assist, but it ended with her tripping over her own feet.
As it was getting late we headed back at my dorm, we poured Shirley Temples into a giant pitcher, the fizz of the soda filling the room.
âTo surviving rumors and bad basketball shots,â Paige said, holding up her glass.
I clinked mine against hers. âAnd to you, for teaching me how to shoot a three.â
She laughed, leaning back against the couch. âYouâre a natural.â
I rolled my eyes but smiled. For the first time in days, I felt like I could breathe again.
As the night wore on, we sat there talking, the camera still sitting on the coffee table. Part of me wanted to grab it, to capture this moment. But another part of me knew that some things were better left undocumented, kept just between us.

THE NIGHTÂ â for the most part â had just started. Your drinks, on the other hand, hadn't waited up. You were three beers deep, head perched on your hand, peering at Himeno, who was telling some wild recount of the mission you had just had. Everyone else was listening, too, heads turned, eyes wide while she described the way you had "swooped in and saved the day" (something Hayakawa had chewed you out for).
"She blew a hole straight through the building," She was saying. "But there were no casualties. Talk about precision, am I right?"
And, eyelids droopy as all hell, you laughed, swirling the piss yellow liquid around in your beer mug. The pleasant buzz from the few drinks you'd had were beginning to seep into your skin, warmth washing over you in slow, comforting waves. You basked in it for a moment, tuning out of the conversation being had only a few feet away.
You tuned out and, instead, your attention shifted. You see, it was hard to stay focused when a certain someone you hadn't expected to show up actually wound up pulling through, now seated at the other end of the table looking far too uptight to be at a friendly gathering. He was wearing his Public Safety uniform â the one you had never seen him out of... not that you were thinking about what he looked like out of uniform, or anything like that â and he looked good enough to have you questioning your own sanity.
You swore it was the alcohol â you swore it was. Nothing else could explain the way your pulse thrummed a little harder in your veins when he looked up and caught your gaze, cobalt eyes tearing you apart at the seams. Hair pulled back perfectly into his signature ponytail, not a strand out of place. He hadn't taken off his suit, but you were suddenly rather conscious of how much larger than you he was â of the way he seemed that much taller than you, even when he was sitting down, of the way his suit accentuated his broad shoulders. His jawline was sharp and angular, just like the rest of him, and his eyes... fuck, his eyes...
Were staring right at you.
Biting back a shriek, you averted your gaze, glaring into your lap like that would make the situation any better. You had to take the situation at face value â you had invited your superior out to drinks and were now making a complete and utter fool out of yourself by spending the evening making goo-goo eyes at him.Â
Oh, and not to mention the fact that you were supposed to hate his fucking guts.
Shaking yourself out of it, you tuned back into Himeno's conversation, trying to latch onto her words like a lifeline.
"So then, this asshole pops out of nowhereâlike, I swear to God, he came out of thin airâand he goes for her throat. But!â" She punctuated her words with an exaggerated hand motion, nearly knocking over her beer in the process. "She dodges like it's nothing. I mean, I've never seen reflexes like that. It was unreal."
You managed a laugh, though it came out a little delayed, like your body had to remember how to react. The alcohol had made you sluggish, slow, and the warmth in your chest had turned sticky, clinging to your ribs. You weren't even sure what you were feeling anymore, but something about it didn't sit right.
Your gaze slid back to himâbecause of course it did. And this time, when you looked, he wasn't looking back.
Instead, Aki's attention was on something else entirelyâon someone else. He was speaking to one of the girls from another division. Kobeni, you realized. She was nodding, awkward and stiff, while he spoke, his expression the same measured, unreadable one he always wore.
You let your head drop onto Himeno's shoulder, exhaling through your nose. What the hell is going on between us?
It wasn't like you. You weren't the type to get hung up on things like this. But tonight, the drinks had loosened something in you, and you could feel it unraveling, thread by thread. Aki was a pain in your ass. He was the one constantly calling you reckless, the one always tightening the reins when you stepped even a little out of line. You weren't supposed to care. You weren't supposed to notice how sharp his jaw looked under the dim bar lights or the way his hands moved when he spoke.
And yet.
Himeno, drunker than you were, said nothing about the way you leaned against her, only let her head tilt slightly against yours like it was the most natural thing in the world.
You shut your eyes for a moment. Maybe if you pretended you weren't watching him, pretended you weren't thinking about this at all, it would stop feeling like something.
But it didn't work.
No, once more, your gaze drifted back to the damn captain. This time, when he spoke to Kobeni, she smiled â wide enough to crease the skin at the corners of her eyes. She was a pretty, young thing. She had pretty eyes and pretty, chestnut brown hair. She was shy and timid and took orders very well â everything you were not.Â
I wonder if he likes her, You couldn't help but wonder, smile dropping from your face while you observed the two of them in conversation.Â
A strange feeling clawed its way over your chest. Something you couldn't name. It was a horrible, rotten feeling. One you hadn't felt since you were a highschooler. It sat in your stomach like a brick, burning its way through your arteries, prying at your lips for escape.
It was jealousy.
Oh, what the fuck?
She definitely likes him, you thought. That much was evident by the way she leaned into her superior's space, eagerly taking in every word that left his mouth. Her eyes glimmered with something that made your stomach churn.
It was jealousy, you knew that, but... why? Why him? Why now?
Why the fuck did you even care?Â
Why did you feel jealous over a man you hated?
Himeno's hand on your shoulder shook you out of your drunken gaze. You perked up, lifting your head from the crook in her shoulder, turning your attention away from the scene in front of you so you could dedicate all of your attention to someone more deserving of it.
"You know, kohai," She giggled, face flushed with a drunken shade. "You're really pretty."
Am I in the twilight zone?
You smiled at her, "That's coming from you."
"Oh, shut up," The woman replied, batting you away with your hands, laughing up a storm. "I wanna ask you... ask you 'sumthin."
You knit your brows together, pursing your lips. "What's up?"
She looked at you, then, lashes fluttering over her one good eye, mischief written all over her face. You knew you shouldn't have asked, but you were even more shocked by her answer, "Would you kiss me?"
You laughed at that â you couldn't help it, truly. Himeno had kissed just about every person in the division (though you weren't sure if that excluded a certain stuck-up bastard, and you were even less sure that you wanted to ask). Still, it was because of that fact that you knew her request was harmless. It was... just her way of showing love while drunk. She couldn't help it.
"I didn't know you could swing that way, Himeno," You laughed.
"I've never triedâ hicâ tried," She shrugged, as if she was asking the easiest question in the entire world. "'M jussst... curious, aren't you?"
You answered back, "Not really."
And she pouted at that â like she was a child and not a drunk-ass, grown-ass woman, "Why not? Am I not your type?"
No, but apparently someone else is.
Peering down at the table, vision a little hazy, you polished off the rest of your beer. Then, you added, "You could say that."
Why do I feel drunker than I did a few minutes ago?
"Who's your type, then?" She asked, leaning forward, all up into your personal space, and it would have bothered you if it was anyone else, "Do you like girls? Guys?"
"Never really explored, but..." You hummed. The beer made its way down the back of your throat, warming your vocal chords, your stomach, your chest. "Guys, I guess."
Then that devilish little grin of hers was back on her face. "If you could fuck anyone here, then, who would it be?"
"Sober or drunk?" You laughed, setting your empty mug down with a soft clink.
Himeno cackled, tipping forward slightly in her seat. The alcohol had turned her loose, made her limbs sluggish and her voice louder than she probably realized. "A few shots, maybe. Not drunk."
You hummed, drumming your fingers against the table, pretending to give it some thought. But the answer was already there, sitting heavy in the back of your mind, waiting for a moment of weakness to slip through the cracks.
Captain Hayakawa.
The name surfaced so quickly, so naturally, that it startled you. And before you could stop yourself, before you could even pretend to fight it, your gaze flickered back to him.
Big mistake.
Because Himeno caught it immediately.
She gasped, sharp and dramatic, smacking a hand over her mouth like she had just witnessed a crime scene. It was so loud, so cartoonish, that a few people turned to look, and you had to resist the urge to sink into your seat.
"No fucking way," she whispered, but there was nothing subtle about the gleam in her eye. She practically vibrated with excitement, like she'd just stumbled upon the juiciest piece of gossip imaginable. Then, with a grin, she leaned in, voice hushed but not nearly hushed enough. "You're hot for captain?"
You snapped your head toward her so fast you nearly gave yourself whiplash. "Noâno, no," you hissed, gripping her forearm in a weak attempt to physically shut her up. "Shut up, Himeno."
She wasn't having it. She wiggled her brows at you, eyes twinkling with amusement. "No fucking way," she repeated, drawing out every syllable like she was savoring them. "I thought you hated his guts."
"I do," you shot back, a little too fast, a little too forceful. It was immediate. Instinctive. A reflex.
And she noticed.
The look on her face turned downright smug.
"I don't have the hots for him," you corrected, shaking your head, willing your face to cool down even as it burned. "Now would you keep it down?"
Himeno held up her hands in surrender, but there was something devious in the way she did it, like she was still holding onto the truth of the situation, just waiting for the right moment to pry it back open.
She sat back slightly, but then, after a beatâbecause of course she couldn't just leave it at thatâshe leaned in again, voice dipping lower, eyes gleaming. "If you were a little drunker, though..."
You groaned, slapping a hand over your face. "Enough," you hissed, dragging out the word, but your voice lacked bite.
She was full-on giggling now, shoulders shaking, thoroughly enjoying your suffering.
Then, her laughter fadedâjust a littleâand she tilted her head, giving you a look that was too knowing, too amused. "Not even a kiss?"
"No," you said, firm. But somehow, it didn't feel quite as firm as it should have.
The night went smoothly after that. Drinks and conversation were flowing, you were sufficiently drunk, and the lot of you were laughing loud enough to disturb any of the other patrons who came to this poor izakaya to get moderately tipsy.Â
The drinks kept coming, conversation swelling louder with each round, the izakaya thick with smoke and the scent of grilled meat. You were properly drunk, the kind where your limbs felt loose, where laughter came too easily, where everything should've been fun, should've been easy.
Except it wasn't.
Because across the table, Aki was still talking to Kobeni.
And you didn't care. You didn't.
You had no reason to. You weren't friends. You weren't anything. If anything, you hated his gutsâhis quiet, know-it-all demeanor, his stupid pretty face, the way he always acted so fucking above it all. Like he was better than the rest of you just because he didn't get sloppy drunk, didn't fuck around, didn't let things get to him.
And yetâ
Your drink was empty again. When had that happened? You barely remembered drinking it. You reached for the bottle to pour yourself more, but your hand wasn't as steady as you wanted it to be. Himeno laughed beside you, grabbing the bottle before you could knock it over.
"Take it easy," she teased, topping off your glass anyway.
You snorted. "I'm fine."
Himeno grinned, and for a moment, you let yourself focus on her instead. It was easier. She was warm, easy to be around, all teasing smiles and the kind of confidence that made everything feel simple.
But thenâ
Another laugh from across the table. Aki's.
You hadn't even known he could laugh like that, low and quiet, the kind that didn't come often. Your stomach twisted before you could stop it, your head snapping toward him on instinct.
Kobeni was leaning in, her hands curled in her lap, nodding at whatever he'd said. And Akiâhe wasn't even looking at her anymore, just staring down at his drink, lips twitching like he wasn't sure if he should be amused or annoyed.
You clenched your jaw.
It wasn't like they were doing anything.
Aki wasn't flirtingâhe wasn't the type. You knew that. He wasn't the kind of guy to lean in too close, to lower his voice just enough to make someone's breath hitch, to toy with people the way Himeno did. He was the exact oppositeâquiet, serious, all sharp edges and self-control.
And yet, there was something unbearable about the way he was sitting there, across the table, listening to Kobeni like she was worth listening to.
She was talkingâsome pointless, forgettable thing, probably about workâbut her body language spoke louder than her words. The way she fidgeted with her glass, how she kept sneaking glances at him, how her voice wavered slightly before picking up again, like she was hesitating before every sentence. She was nervous. And that alone made you feel like something was pressing against your ribs, like a slow, smoldering ember was settling somewhere beneath your skin.
She was trying.
Trying to impress him. Trying to be seen by him.
And AkiâAki, idiot that he wasâjust sat there, unreadable as ever, nodding along, responding just enough to keep the conversation going but not enough to give anything away. Not pushing her away. Not shutting her down.
Letting her talk. Letting her have his attention.
Your fingers tightened around your drink.
It was stupid.
You didn't even like him.
You weren't sure if you even respected him. Half the time, you couldn't stand himâhis rules, his orders, the way he always acted so damn above it all. You'd seen him roll his eyes at you more times than you could count, seen the way he sighed when you got under his skin. You weren't his type, and he sure as hell wasn't yours.
So you had no reasonânone at allâto feel that awful, simmering thing curling in your stomach.
Maybe it was just the alcohol.
Or maybe it was something uglier.
Maybe it was the fact that if Aki ever looked at you the way Kobeni looked at him, you wouldn't know what the fuck to do with it. Maybe it was the idea that he could like someone like herâquiet, nervous, too polite for her own goodâwhen all he ever did with you was act like you were a fucking nuisance.
Maybe it was that, deep down, you had always assumed Aki didn't have the capacity to like anyone at all.
And now, watching him sit there, watching Kobeni work up the nerve to inch closer, to brush her fingers against the edge of his sleeve like she was testing the watersâyou weren't so sure anymore.
You downed your drink, jaw tightening.
Himeno nudged you, her voice playful but perceptive. "You're awfully quiet," she mused, lips quirking.
You exhaled sharply, barely processing the words before your own were spilling out.
"I changed my mind."
Himeno blinked. "Huh?"
You didn't think.Didn't hesitate. Didn't second-guess yourself.
Your hand curled into the fabric of Himeno's collar, tugging her forward with more force than necessary. There was barely a beat of surprise before your lips crashed against hers, the alcohol burning hot in your veins, your pulse hammering in your ears.
The izakaya erupted around you. A chair scraping against the floor, a loud whistle, the sharp intake of breath from someoneâKobeni, probably. Laughter. Someone shouting something half-coherent in encouragement. The kind of scene that would normally make you self-conscious, make you want to shrink away from the attention.
But you didn't shrink away.
Because Himeno kissed you back.
And she kissed you like she meant it.
Her lips tasted like warm sake, sweet and sharp, the scent of cigarette smoke clinging faintly to her. Her fingers slid up your neck, slow and deliberate, curling at the base of your skull. She deepened the kiss, tilting her head just enough to press closer, her breath mingling with yours.
For a second, it was grounding.
For a second, the heat of it, the weight of her hands, the press of her body against yoursâit was enough to drown out the gnawing, ugly feeling twisting in your stomach.
You could feel her smirk against your mouth. Himeno had always been good at thisâat teasing, at making things feel light, easy. Like none of it had to mean anything.
When she pulled back, her grin was lazy, her eyes lidded and amused. Her fingers stayed in your hair, playing absently with the strands.
"Damn," she murmured, voice low enough that only you could hear, "You kiss like a man. I like it."
The words should've embarrassed you.
Should've made you regret it.
But you just laughed, breathless. It felt a little hollow.
Because when you glanced toward Aki's seatâ
He was gone.
Your stomach dropped, the lightness of the moment collapsing in on itself.
And just like that, the heat you'd felt seconds ago twisted into something unbearable.
The room was too loud. Too warm. The laughter too sharp, the smell of alcohol suddenly cloying. Himeno was still watching you, her teasing smile lingering, but you couldn't focus on any of it.
Your hands curled into fists at your sides.
It shouldn't have mattered. It didn't matter. But your heart was pounding anyway, and suddenly the room felt too loud, the heat of it unbearable. Himeno was still looking at you, a teasing remark likely on the tip of her tongue, but you couldn't focus on any of it.
That asshole, you thought â ideas ruminating in your mind. I'm gonna give him a piece of my mind, leaving with no excuse like that.
You pushed your chair back, barely hearing the legs scrape against the floor.
"Where are youâ?" Himeno started, but you were already moving, shoving past the press of bodies, stepping outside.
The night air hit you immediately, a sharp contrast to the stifling warmth of the izakaya. The street was damp from earlier rain, neon lights from nearby signs reflecting off the slick pavement. The noise from inside was muffled now, like it belonged to a different world.
You didn't stop until you came face-to-face with an intimidating figure. You exhaled slowly, breath curling in the cold. And thenâ
Aki.
He stood a few steps away, his back against the wall, a cigarette balanced between his fingers. He wasn't smoking it, not yetâjust twirling it absently, gaze fixed on some distant point down the street. His expression was unreadable, the way it always was.
And he was devastatingly handsome, even now â fucking asshole.
Biting back a drunk little grin â and realizing that you knew damn well you would never, ever have done this sober â you approached him, hips swaying from side to side. Whether the motion was due to your trying to come off as enticing or due to the copious amounts of sake and beer you had ingested, you weren't sure. Hell, you weren't sure about anything anymore.Â
And, the moment those baby blues of his flicked up to meet your gaze, you immediately regretted coming out to find him. The fact that he was perceiving you now in such a drunken state was enough to have your heart beating against your ribs like an animal at the zoo (but not enough to make you back down now that you had him alone). You knew it was stupid, fuck, you should have turned back on your heel and gone back the way you had come, but you couldn't stop yourself.
No, I have to give him a piece of my mind.
His eyes dropped down to your outfit â the little black dress you definitely hadn't picked out with him in mind, making sure that it revealed just the right amount of cleavage, hugged you in all of the right places â and then back up to your face. The movement was small, almost perceptible, but in your wasted state, you were hyperconscious of his every move, of the way his eyes widened when they saw you, the way you could smell the scent of him from where you were standing, masculine, woody, ambery cologne mingled in with the faintest hint of smoke.
You were so drunk that you were practically seeing two of him until you refocused your eyes. So drunk that, for a moment, you couldn't say anything â realizing that you had forgotten to come up with an excuse to see him at that moment â and neither could he.
You were the first one to break the silence. "You're such an asshole."
He didn't look the slightest bit phased by your words. Instead, he reached into his pocket and searched for his lighter, holding it up to the end of the cigarette and striking the wheel until the flame took.Â
"You just... left," You swallowed, throat suddenly very dry.
He held the cigarette up to his lips, popping it between them like it was the most natural thing in the world, taking a deep breath. You watched the tension melt away from his shoulders, smelled the nicotine as it wafted up into the air around you.Â
Then, finally, he glanced at you, raising an eyebrow, "Yeah."
Your pulse jumped at the sound of his voice for no reason whatsoever. Pouting, you crossed your arms, damn near stumbling as you did so, "You didn't even say anything. No goodbye, no nothing."
"I was stepping out for a smoke," He breathed smoke out into the air. "Didn't think I needed to."
God, he pissed you off. Him and... his... his beautiful, blue eyes, and... fuck.
"You could at least pretend to be fun sometimes," You muttered â you thought it was beneath your breath, but when you caught the way his head tilted at your words, you knew that wasn't the case. So, instead of apologizing for insubordination like you probably should have done, you decided to dig your grave a little deeper. "You just sit in thereâ hicâ all stiff, barely... barely drinkin', actin' likeâ like you're... too good for the rest of us."
"I'm tipsy enough," He hummed. "Not that that's any of your business, and I wasn't acting like anything."
Now, this was the point where any sane person would have dropped to their knees and apologized to him.
Not you, though.
No, the liquid courage coursing through your veins deluded you into thinking that you could talk some sense into him.
Actually, what came out was something entirely different.
"You were all over Kobeni," You narrowed your eyes. The words left your lips before you could even stop them. Immediately, regret settled in your chest, washing over you in waves â making your face burn.Â
There's no way I just said that to him, you chastised yourself internally, Fuck, I'm gonna be fired.
Aki didn't react at first. Just stared at you. Then, after a beat, he let out a short, dry sigh.
"You're drunk."
You pouted, "Not that drunk." (Which was a total lie. You were practically smelling colors).
He studied you again with those fucking... hawk eyes of his, gaze sharp in a way that made your skin crawl with anxiety. He wasn't looking at you the way Kobeni had looked at him â wasn't waiting for something, hoping for something. But he was looking at you.Â
Finally looking at you. And somehow, that was worse.
"She was asking me about an upcoming assignment," He commented, voice flat. You should have been grateful that he had even decided to humor you and your drunk interrogation, realistically. "That's it."
He's... surprisingly patient today.
I wonder how far I can push him until he snaps, you thought, not really knowing why â or, for that matter, what the hell had crawled into your brain to control you and make all of these stupid decisions.
You huffed, "Oh."
"Yeah," He pulled another hit from his cigarette, and this time, you observed him â the sinful way his lips wrapped around the end of it, cherry glowing orange while he took another deep breath. Then, you watched him breathe the smoke out through his nose. "You're a real pain in my ass. You know that?"
You didn't know why â the same way you didn't know why everything was happening, but you laughed. It was more like a giggle, really, a bubbly, drunken noise that you practically choked out. Either way, it was enough to have him looking at you like you had two heads.
You stumbled a little closer to him and, to your surprise, he didn't inch away. Instead, his gaze followed your sluggish movements, different, this time â like a cat eyeing up a naive little mouse. Like you were prey.
"What the hell's gotten into you tonight?" He asked.
Stumbling over your feet, you braced your hands on the wall in front of you, dropping your head and laughing a little harder. Truthfully, you didn't know why you were laughing. Nothing was funny. None of this was funny.
Even more truthfully â as you peeled your gaze up from the ground, from Aki's shoes, you realized that you weren't leaning on a wall at all.Â
You were leaning on him.Â
I'm fucking dead, you thought. If I wake up tomorrow, I'll be handed a letter of termination.
You met his gaze head-on, half-lidded eyes peering up at him through your lashes. He didn't break eye-contact this time. No, he was looking at you the same way you were looking at him â like neither of you knew why any of this was happening, like you weren't quite sure if you wanted it to stop, either, even though you knew it should.
You could see it again â the faint shift in his expression, in the way he looked at you. Something had definitely changed. There was an unreadable glint in his eyes. Maybe if you were sober, you would have been able to tell what it was.
Then again, if you were sober, you would have done the right thing tonight and stayed inside. You certainly wouldn't have been there, leaning on his shoulder, looking up at him and realizing that everything was different.Â
It wasn't just the alcohol. No, he was different.
"I hope you're not driving home," He commented, though his voice lacked its usual tenor, its usual confidence. "Not like this."
Why's he actin' so weird?
"Since when did you care?" You pouted. When he said nothing, you answered. "Okay, I walked here."
"Good," He sighed.Â
"You wanna walk me home?"
The words slurred out before you could even process them, and you immediately regretted asking. Aki, cigarette hanging loosely between his fingers, exhaled a cloud of smoke, watching you from the corner of his eye, but his gaze didn't soften.
"No."
His response was quick, firm, and just a little too cold. But the way his gaze flickered over you, almost a little too long, made you wonder if he wasn't as unaffected as he wanted you to think.
You blinked, not entirely sure what you were expecting but not that. "Why not?" you asked, and your voice came out more whiny than you'd intended.
Aki didn't immediately answer, flicking the cigarette ash onto the ground, the ember glowing brighter for a brief second. He looked at you, expression unreadable for a moment. Then, his voice was low and tired. "Because I don't feel like it."
You frowned, feeling the weight of his words tug at your chest, though you couldn't fully explain why. "Lame," you muttered. You weren't sure what you were even getting at anymore, but the thought of being alone tonight felt worse than anything else.
He eyed you for a second, but there was something softer in his expression now. Maybe it was the alcohol kicking in for him, too. "You're drunk," he said, rubbing the back of his neck, a gesture you weren't sure was out of discomfort or something else.
You smiledâmore like a crooked grin, but you couldn't help it. "I'm not that drunk," you protested, but you swayed on your feet as you said it, and he didn't look convinced.
Aki's lips curled into something between a smirk and a sigh, clearly not buying it. "Uh-huh. Sure, you're not." His eyes flicked to yours again, a little too keen for someone who was supposed to be this dismissive.
"I just... don't wanna be alone," you muttered, the words coming out before you even realized you were saying them.
Aki stared at you for a long moment, and you swore there was a flicker of something in his gazeâannoyance? Amusement? But it passed just as quickly. "Well, that's your problem," he said with a dry chuckle, his tone flat, as though he were trying to make it clear he didn't want to hear it. "Not mine."
You stumbled slightly, both from the alcohol and the sting of his words. "Right," you muttered, trying to steady yourself, feeling the warm rush of liquid courage running through you. But as you stood there, looking up at him, something started to sink in. This was Aki. You knew him. Knew his moods. His indifference. But this, tonightâsomething was different.
"I... just," you began, trying to find the right words, but they came out jumbled. "Just... help me, okay?" The desperation was there, but you weren't sure if he saw it.
His eyes softened slightly, the sharpness in them dulling just a little as his cigarette burned down to a stub. "Help you? What, do you expect me to just babysit you?"
You winced at the word, the thought stinging more than it should have. "No," you murmured, taking a step closer to him. "I just..." You trailed off, biting your lip. The alcohol was starting to cloud your thoughts even more, but you couldn't shake the feeling that if you didn't convince him now, you'd really be on your own. And you couldn't handle that tonight.
Aki raised an eyebrow at you, clearly unsure of what you were getting at. "What?" he asked, a little too bluntly for your liking.
You stared up at him, breath a little shaky. "Please," you repeated, but this time, there was something more vulnerable in your tone. "Pleeeeeeeasee."
The words felt like a weight that had to be lifted, but they also made you feel foolish. You weren't that drunk. You weren't. But the world felt like it was spinning out of control, and you didn't know where to place your feet anymore.
Aki took a deep breath, dragging a hand down his face as if trying to process everything you'd just said. There was no edge in his voice anymore, just a weariness that made you wonder if you weren't the only one who'd had too much to drink.
"You're really something," he muttered, shaking his head. "I don't even know why I'm putting up with this."
"I'll cry," you said, half-laughing, half-serious. The words felt ridiculous, but they slipped out anyway, desperate in their simplicity.
Aki's gaze softened a little, though the smirk that tugged at his lips was almost imperceptible. "Go ahead," he said, voice flat, but his eyes held something deeper.
The silence stretched between you as you waited for him to backpedal, to somehow take back that easy dismissal. But instead, his shoulders sagged, and he sighed, long and loud. He took a last drag from his cigarette, flicked it to the ground, and ground it out beneath his heel.
"Fine," he muttered, and the words caught you off guard. "I'll walk you home."
For a moment, you didn't believe him, like the weight of what he was agreeing to was still sinking in. You blinked, slightly stunned. "Wait, really?"
He shot you an incredulous look, though his eyes softened just a little, like he was too tired to argue anymore. "Yeah, really. Can we go now, before you start actually crying?"
You blinked, a small, unsteady laugh slipping from your lips. You hadn't expected him to cave so easily, and it made you feel like you'd gotten away with something. But then, the weight of what you'd just gotten him to agree to settled in. You didn't want to push your luck any further.
Aki took a step back and gestured toward the door of the izakaya, his voice dropping lower. "We can't leave together. Not like this. If people see us leaving at the same time, it'll look weird."
The realization hit you. Of course. Everyone had been watching you all night, and there was no way you could just stroll out of there with him without someone noticing. "Right," you mumbled, feeling a little embarrassed at how quickly you'd forgotten about that. "Okay. You go first."
He nodded, his expression softening just a touch. "I'll wait a few minutes, make it look like I'm staying." He gave you a dry look, his lips curling into that familiar smirk. "Try not to make a scene on your way out. Himeno's gonna wonder what's going on."
You winced, the reminder of Himeno's playful teasing still fresh in your mind. "Yeah, yeah. I'll be fine," you muttered, more to yourself than to him. You were still trying to process the fact that AkiâAkiâhad actually agreed to walk you home.
He gave you a brief nod before turning to head toward the back of the bar, disappearing behind a row of drunken patrons and laughter, the sound of his footsteps muffled by the noise inside.
You took a deep breath and steadied yourself, trying to ignore the swirl of thoughts that followed you like a second layer of fog. You'd barely had enough time to process everything that had happened between you two tonight, let alone now have to pretend like nothing was different.
You swayed a little as you turned back toward the group, feeling that odd combination of exhilaration and dread settling in your chest. When you reached Himeno's side, she was already watching you with that sly little grin of hers. She could probably read you like a book, even if you were still half-drunk.
You straightened your shoulders, trying to force a smile. "I'm heading out," you told her, your voice still a little shaky. "Long day tomorrow."
Himeno raised an eyebrow but said nothing for a moment, like she was trying to make sense of something you weren't telling her. "Uh-huh. Sure," she replied, her voice a little too casual for your liking. "Alright. Be careful. You arewalking home, right?"
You nodded quickly, swallowing down a lump in your throat. "Yeah, yeah. I'm fine. I'll be fine."
Himeno eyed you for a beat longer before shrugging. "Okay. Have a good night," she said, her smile unreadable.
With that, you gave her a brief wave and turned to walk out of the izakaya. The door swung open, the chilly night air rushing in and hitting you like a bucket of cold water. You paused just outside, feeling the weight of the night settle around you.
Aki had said he'd wait a few minutes, and you weren't sure whether to be nervous or relieved.
Your feet shifted restlessly, the cold air biting at your skin as you leaned against the brick of the building, trying to look casualâlike you weren't waiting for him at all.
You glanced around. The street was quieter now, with fewer people out and about, but still, the idea of walking home with Aki felt... strange. The thought of him so close to you, especially after everything that had happened, was almost more than you could handle.
Just when you thought maybe it'd be better to leave and get it over with, you heard footsteps behind you. Aki's figure appeared through the dim light, moving with the usual purposeful strides that somehow felt different tonight.
Without saying anything, he walked past you, his shoulder brushing yours just slightly as he headed down the street. He didn't stop, didn't turn around, and you could feel the shift in the air. The tension between you was undeniable now.
For a moment, you just stood there, your feet feeling rooted to the spot. You weren't sure what to do. You didn't want to make it obvious that you were waiting for him, but at the same time, you couldn't shake the odd sense of unease creeping over you. What was happening? What wasn't happening?
Finally, you exhaled, pushing yourself off the wall and walking slowly toward him. You didn't call out; it wasn't like you had to. It was clear that he wasn't planning on walking that far away from you.
Aki moved at a steady pace, hands shoved into his pockets as he walked ahead, the cool breeze tugging at the collar of his jacket. You felt a weird, unfamiliar pressure building in your chest as you matched his steps, not sure if you were keeping your distance on purpose or if it was because you didn't know where to start.
When you reached his side, you glanced at him briefly. He didn't acknowledge you, not really. It was like you were walking side-by-side by accident, like this was just some strange, unspoken part of the night that neither of you could quite comprehend.
You couldn't help yourself. "So," you started, your voice a little wobbly. "I didn't think you'd actually do it."
Aki turned his head, those sharp eyes of his flicking over you. "What? Walk you home?" he asked, voice rough around the edges. He didn't look at you like he normally did. There was something more distant about it, almost like the alcohol had drawn a line between you.
You nodded, feeling the weight of his presence beside you. "Yeah. Didn't think you were... I don't know, the type."
He snorted softly, a smirk tugging at his lips. "I'm not," he muttered, as if it was obvious. "But you were whining enough to make me reconsider."
Your stomach twisted at the thought of how easily he gave in to you tonight, like it was no big deal. But then again, you weren't sure if that was comforting or more uncomfortable.
You walked a little further before speaking again, your voice barely above a whisper. "So, what now?" You were almost afraid to ask, but at the same time, you had to know. Was this just a one-off thing? Was he going to pretend none of this had happened?
Aki didn't answer right away. Instead, he kicked a small rock out of the way, his eyes focused straight ahead. "We're going to your place," he said, his tone back to its usual flatness. "Wherever that is."
You didn't know why, but you couldn't shake the knot of disappointment tightening in your chest.
Before you could process it, Aki's voice broke through your thoughts again, low and dry.
"You good, or you gonna keep asking me questions?"
You swallowed hard, suddenly too aware of your drunken haze. "I'm good."
A moment passed. You paid close attention to the sound of your heels on the pavement, the sound of his sneakers touching the same surface.Â
"I just realized I don't even know your address," He added, almost like he felt bad about shutting you up.Â
"I live at theâ uh... you know where the post office is?" You rattled off the top of your head. He seemed like a man with a good sense of direction.
He nodded.
"Okay, well, I live right across from it. At the apartment complex," You finished.
His eyes narrowed, "That's only three blocks away."
"Yup," You nodded.
"You really couldn't walk that on your own?" He reiterated.
"Nope."
The cold air against your skin had sobered you just enough to think more clearly, but you still couldn't shake the feeling that something was... off. You weren't sure if it was the alcohol still buzzing through your system or the strange tension between the two of you, but the air felt heavy.
Aki was walking beside you, as stoic as ever, his hands tucked into the pockets of his jacket. He hadn't said much since you left the izakaya, and you weren't sure if that was his usual silence or if something else was bothering him. Either way, it had you on edge, and you couldn't resist breaking the silence.
"So... tonight's been pretty weird, huh?" you said, glancing sideways at him as you tried to read his expression. You needed something from him, but you weren't sure what.
Aki didn't respond right away. He just gave you a quick glance, his sharp eyes flickering over you before he answered. "Weird how?"
You shrugged, feeling the alcohol's effects still lingering on your tongue. "I don't know. You've been quieter than usual."
Aki didn't seem particularly moved by that observation. "I'm not in the mood for small talk."
You exhaled in frustration, rubbing your eyes with your sleeve. "I guess not. But it's just... I've been acting weird tonight. Doing things I wouldn't normally do."
"Like what?" Aki asked, his voice flat but with a slight hint of curiosity.
"I kissed Himeno," you blurted, half-smiling to yourself at how ridiculous it sounded coming out of your mouth. You almost regretted saying it. But it had to be said, right?
Aki's head turned just slightly, but his face didn't change. "Yeah, and?"
You blinked, a little caught off guard by how quickly he dismissed it. "You know... it was a kiss. Just... fun, I guess."
"Fun," Aki repeated, though his voice was laced with a certain dryness. "Right."
You kept walking, feeling an odd twist in your stomach at how unbothered he was. You'd expected more of a reactionâsomething. Maybe you were wrong about trying to make him jealous. Maybe he didn't care at all.
But you didn't want to admit that. Instead, you pressed on. "She's a good kisser, though. Didn't think she had it in her."
Aki shot you another glance, his lips pressed together in a thin line. You could see the faintest shift in his expression, but it was gone so quickly you weren't sure if you imagined it. "Himeno, huh? You really go for the easy ones, don't you?"
It was a subtle jab, but it still managed to hit something inside of you. "I wouldn't say 'easy,'" you muttered, trying to shrug it off. "But yeah, I guess I've got a thing forâwhat?âfun, spontaneous stuff. You know, the kind of thing you wouldn't normally do."
Aki didn't answer right away, and the silence stretched between you. You could feel his eyes on you, but it wasn't the usual detached kind of look. No, this time, it felt like something more. Something that tugged at you, made your chest tighten in a way that was impossible to ignore.
"I've heard she's kissed just about everyone in the division. Wanted to see what the hype is all about," You tried again, "Have you tried it?"
Finally, Aki spoke, his voice barely above a whisper. "I don't kiss my coworkers. If it was just fun, then why are you still talking about it?"
You stumbled in your step, feeling the knot in your stomach tighten. "I don't know," you admitted, your voice a little unsteady. "Maybe I just wanted to see if it would get a rise out of you."
What the fuck.
Why did I just say that?
Aki didn't look at you, but you could feel the slight shift in his posture. His shoulders tensed, just a little, as if he were trying to suppress something. "And what would you do if it did?"
"I don't know," you said, a little too quickly. "I just wanted to see if I could get you to show some... something. You know? Anything. You're always so cold towards me."
Aki was quiet for a moment, his jaw tightening as if he were holding something back. "You're a pain in the ass."
You almost laughed at that, a little breathless. "Yeah, I know."
But there was still something there. Something in the way he'd said itâsomething just beneath the surface. You weren't sure if it was jealousy, but it was definitely something. Aki wasn't being completely himself, and it was enough to make your heart beat just a little faster. But you weren't sure if it was what you thought it was.
"Did it work?"
Aki suddenly stopped walking, and you nearly collided with him. He turned to face you, his eyes locking onto yours in a way that made your breath catch. "Don't start up again. You're drunk."
You smiled, a little too wide, too tipsy to care. "I'm not that drunk," you said, though the slur in your words gave you away.
Aki's eyes narrowed just slightly, his expression unreadable. "You're still making me walk you home."
You shrugged, too giddy to care. "Yeah, guess so. I'm... not really in any shape to walk by myself."
He muttered something under his breath, a faint exhale through his nose that could have been a laugh, but it wasn't. It was something else. "You're lucky I'm not putting you in a cab."
You grinned at that, though you felt a twinge of something you couldn't quite explain. "You're just saying that 'cause you're being nice tonight."
Aki shot you a quick glance. For a moment, the playful banter fell away, and there was an unexpected quiet between you. You both kept walking, the sound of your footsteps the only thing filling the space between you. It was hard to tell if anything had changed, but it felt different somehow. The weight of the night was still there, but there was something new, tooâa strange kind of closeness.
You turned to look at him again, but this time, the words caught in your throat. You didn't want to ask him, not now, not when you didn't know if it was a mistake.
But then, in a flash, you tripped.
Your heel caught on the uneven pavement, and you felt your body lurch forward. Before you could even react, Aki was there, his hand gripping your waist with surprising gentleness, steadying you before you could fall.
"Careful," he muttered, though his tone was almost... softer than usual.
He's so hot.
He's so hot and I'm tired of hiding it, you thought. Why do I want him?
Fuck! He's such an asshole.
"I'm fine," you said, shaking it off with a breathless laugh. "I'm just a mess tonight."
Aki didn't respond, but you felt his hand tighten around you just a little. The next thing you knew, he had shifted, his arm going around your waist and lifting you effortlessly over his shoulder.
"Hey!" you protested, half-laughing, half-protesting. "Put me down, asshat!"
Aki didn't even glance at you as he started walking again, his tone dry but with a hint of something else beneath it. "You can barely walk straight."
You grinned, a little more giddy than you should have been. "You're gonna hurt yourself!"
"Relax," He sighed. Still, he handled you with a dizzying ease. Like you didn't weigh anything at all.
I knew he was strong, but...
"Do you work out?" You spat out.
He didn't respond, his steps measured and steady, though there was something... different.Â
"Of course I do," He answered, like that should have been obvious. "Never know when I'll have to carry a drunk idiot back to their apartment."
His posture was firmer than usual, and for a split second, you could have sworn there was a small, satisfied edge to his voice. Maybe you weren't imagining it.
The night was still strange, but as Aki carried you through the darkened streets, you couldn't help but wonder just how much of this was realâand how much was a game you both were playing without even realizing it.
Aki carried you up the three blocks with the same steady pace, his grip around your waist unwavering as the night air nipped at your skin. Each step he took was deliberate, his posture firm, almost casual as though carrying you wasn't the slightest bit out of the ordinary. But you could feel his muscles shift under the weight of you, his body solid against yours, and it was hard to ignore how easy he made it look.
For a moment, it felt like the entire world had faded outâjust you, him, and the soft thud of his footsteps on the pavement.
The dark streetlights flickered overhead, casting long shadows across the sidewalk as you glanced at the city around you. Aki's pace didn't falter as he walked, but you were still aware of how close you were to him, how warm the space between you had become. It was like there was an invisible tension that grew the further you got to your building, one that neither of you could shake, no matter how casual the night seemed.
You shifted on his shoulder, trying to adjust, but the dizzying sway made you a little unsteady. "You really don't have to carry me, you know," you muttered, half-laughing at the absurdity of it all. "I'm not a child."
Aki didn't respond immediately. His fingers tightened just a little, a firm grip that told you he wasn't letting go until you were safely where you needed to be. Finally, he let out a quiet breath and murmured, "You're acting like one."
You rolled your eyes, but it wasn't like you could do anything about it. You were too comfortable in his hold, too grateful for how effortlessly he was handling the situation. "Okay, Dad, fff-fuck you."
You really needed to learn how to hold your own liquor.
"Not my fault you need someone to take care of you when you drink," Aki muttered, but the words held a different meaning. You didn't know if it was the alcohol or just your imagination, but there was something softer, almost protective in his tone. The walls he usually kept up were still there, but they were cracked just enough for you to catch a glimpse of something else.
Before you knew it, the three blocks had passed, and Aki had stopped right in front of your apartment building. He gently set you down on your feet, but you wobbled as soon as your heels hit the ground.
"Careful," Aki said, his voice low but with an undercurrent of concern.
You gave a half-hearted attempt at standing straight, but it was futile. "I'm fine," you muttered, your fingers fumbling for your keys in your purse. The alcohol was still buzzing in your head, making it hard to concentrate, but you finally felt the familiar cool metal of the key between your fingers. "Justâjust give me a second."
Then, you dropped the damn thing. It fell to the floor with a frustrating clatter. With a groan, you bent over, plucking them off the ground andâ
For a moment, you could have sworn you saw his eyes lingering on your backside.
No, it's just a trick of the light, you thought, I'm fucking plastered.
Still, it made you straighten up a little faster than you probably should have, locking eyes with him as you regained your balance. His expression was unreadable, but you didn't miss the way his lips tightened slightly, like he was keeping himself in check. Or maybe it was just his usual lack of interest. Either way, the tension between you two wasn't lost on you.
"Thanks for walking me, Captain," you said, trying to brush it off and make light of the moment. You threw in a sloppy salute, the gesture clumsy and half-hearted. You weren't even sure why you'd done it. Maybe to break the silence. Maybe because you needed to be something other than nervous.
Aki raised an eyebrow, unimpressed. "You really trying to salute me now?"
You just grinned, more out of awkwardness than anything else, and straightened yourself up again. "It's the least I can do. I'm lucky I didn't trip over my own feet the whole way."
He rolled his eyes at your antics, but there was something softer in his gaze as it met yours. Maybe it was the alcohol, or maybe it was just the way the moment had lingered, but something felt a little different, like the usual distance between you both was starting to shrink.
Neither of you spoke for a beat, the silence hanging heavy in the air. You couldn't help but feel the weight of it. You knew you were both trying to act like this was just another nightânothing special, just a little drunk and out of placeâbut there was something in the quiet. Maybe it was the way Aki was standing a little closer, or how his usual guarded expression had softened, just a little, in a way you weren't used to.
You finally broke the stillness, desperate to fill the void. "You know," you started, your voice just a little slurred, "You're not as bad as you act."
Aki's eyes flicked over to you, his gaze narrowing in that familiar, assessing way. But you could've sworn there was a slight glimmer in his eye, something you couldn't quite read. "What's that supposed to mean?"
You grinned, not entirely sure what you were saying, but the words felt right. "You're actually kind of... cool, under all that grumpy, 'I hate everyone' thing you have going on."
Aki didn't respond right away. Instead, he just stared at you for a moment, like he was weighing the meaning of your words. You weren't sure if you meant it or not, but there was a certain honesty in the moment that you couldn't ignore.
"You don't know what you're saying," he finally muttered, his voice lower than usual, but not in the usual sarcastic way. He was almost... mellow, in a way you hadn't expected.
For a split second, you considered what he saidâhow he didn't shrug it off immediately, how his expression hadn't closed back up. It wasn't a compliment, not really, but it was something that almost felt like one.
You shifted awkwardly on your feet. "No, really. You're really cute when you're not being an asshole."
Why did I say that? Why did I say that? Why did I say that?
Oh, my god, You winced the moment the words left your lips. You were astronomically fumbling tonight â a feeling that made your whole face flush when you realized what you had said.
Aki said nothing at first. Instead, he just stared at you, his gaze a little too intense, like he was trying to read you, trying to figure out what the hell was going on in your head. You could feel the weight of his silence, his eyes on you, steady but unreadable.
Your heart was pounding, and all you could think about was how stupid you must have looked. You needed to get away from this, away from him, before you embarrassed yourself even more.
But before you could come up with an excuse to leave, Aki spoke again, voice slow and calculated, the usual bite of sarcasm absent. "Fuck you."
It didn't sound like a harsh retort. It didn't even sound annoyed. It sounded almost... amused. Like he wasn't angry, just a little perplexed by you. And you hated how that single, simple phrase made your heart race. You wanted to get away from the tension building between you two, but the magnetic pull only seemed to draw you closer.
"You'd be a hell of a lot cuter if you just... shut the hell up once in a while," you said, the words slipping out before you could stop them. There was no filter, no hesitation this time, just the raw honesty that came from being tipsy and irritated by how much you'd been holding in all night.
Aki didn't respond at first. His lips barely moved, but you noticed the subtle shift in his expression. Something in his eyes changed, a flicker of something almost... warm? Maybe it was just the alcohol messing with your mind, but you swore you saw itâhis usual guardedness faltering, just a little.
You were standing there, staring at him, feeling that rush of warmth in your chest. There was something in the air, something electric and charged. The proximity between you two felt suddenly so closeâand it wasn't just the alcohol making your head spin anymore. It was something else, something real.
You wanted to say something else, something to break the silence, but the words got caught in your throat. You could smell him now, that subtle, comforting scent of him that had always been there, but tonight it felt sharper, more intoxicating. His cologne mixed with the warmth of his skin, and it made your thoughts scatter, dizzy and disoriented.
Before you could stop yourself, your body was moving. You weren't sure why, but it was like something inside of you had completely snapped. You wanted him closer, wanted that distance between you erased.
You didn't think. You just acted.
You stumbled toward him, your hand reaching up without hesitation. In one swift movement, you grabbed him by the tie, yanking him down toward you. He was caught off guard for just a second, but his eyes never left yours. You could feel the tension radiating between you as you pulled him closer, your heart pounding in your chest like it was about to break free.
His breath hitched just barely, his body stiffening for the slightest moment, before he relaxed. The shift was subtle, but it was enough for you to notice. The air around you both thickened, the silence stretching between you until it felt suffocating.
Aki didn't speak. He didn't even try to stop you. He just stood there, still and silent, waiting for whatever you were about to do next.
And then, before you could talk yourself out of it, before you could think of all the reasons why this was a bad idea, you kissed him.

Im writing a rlly messy one-shot and wrote this, thought it was cute as i love engie and Scout bonding and wanted to share it separately and get your thoughts on it...
Its a mess rn so it start abrupt and ends abrupt, sorry!!
The part where scout hugs his knees is supposed to be a flashback and in italics but tumblr is werid is glitches when I do it, so just pretend it's in italics
-------
No one really talked to him either. Only time he recalled was that moment with Medic and the team's debriefings for the match that day. He was mostly alone for the first year or two, leaving him in his room most days, struggling to distract himself with the painful silence and nobody to rant too.
He had started drawing again to help with his boredom. It had helped for a few weeks, before he ran out of things in his room to draw. He was too nervous to even go out into the living area during that period.
Then he had pulled out his small record player and vinyls, playing his favorite Tom Jones albums at a fairly low volume and humming the tunes, but the walls were thin, meaning he could only play it during the day.
His one escape was jogging outside the base early morning, doing circles. But even he could tell he was getting deathly bored, he needed noise, something to watch, something to do. So he finally got the courage to watch television with Engineer when he came back from his morning laps.
He would make sure to sit as far away from Engie as he could. The Texan would sit on the plaid green couch, coffee mug in hand, watching western films that he never really paid attention to.
After about a week of doing that, the Engineer had finally said something.
---- (italics part) -----
Scout hugged his knees, chin resting on top of them. He didn't have motivation to draw or go for another lap, leaving him sitting here idly watching what the man had on the television. It was some cowboy film that frankly was boring as hell, but hardhat had laughed at the film's jokes and seemed heavily interested. So he stayed.
âYou know. You can sit on the couch too, right?â
Scout jumped, turning to Engineer. Confusion taking over his features.
âWhat?â
Engineer nodded his head at the open cushion next to him. âYou don't need to always sit in the recliner, kid,â He said. Tone neutral. âI don't mind.â
Scout blinked at him. He bit his lip, unsure if he even should consider it. His thought was cut off by Engineer patting the cushion next to him, offer clear.
Scout reluctantly got up and headed over the couch, Engineer scooted over as carefully sat down, clenching his dog tags tightly.
Engineer leaned forward and put his coffee mug on the small wooden coffee table, leaning back into the couch. Elbow resting on the back of the couch. âDo you know what this film is about?â
Scout shook his head, moving on from his dog tags to the wrap around his hand, picking at the part that held it together.
Engienner pointed to the TV, specifically at the guy on screen. âThat's Frank Harris, a hotel clerk who dreams of makingâ a fortune in cattle farming,â
Scout watched in awe as the Texan kept explaining the plot, pointing out every little detail. Every camera shot. Everything.
Scout chuckled to himself. âYou've seen this movie a ton then, huh?â
Engineer scratched his stubble. âNah, just watch movies a lot.â he said, seemingly truthfully. Watching the television intently.
The rest of that morning before the match, Engineer and him had talked about movies they've seen, ones Scout loved and ones Engineer had just remembered the plots of

AN EXCEPTION âą SAKUSA KIYOOMI
CHAPTER ONE
To make it perfectly clear, Kiyoomi can never understand why Atsumu never date someone he actually likes, he always has his arms wrapped around a new model or singer or influencer or in this case an idol. An idol of a survival show that eliminates their participants until thereâs a top 11 candidates to be part of an idol group and of course miya atsumu is dating the number one.
âsheâs a perfect little thing ainât she?â Atsumu says showing a picture of his girlfriend.
âthree monthsâ kiyoomi says only taking a glance at atsumuâs phone.
The rest of the meal continues with atsumu sulking over kiyoomiâs blunt response, but who could blame him, he only said the truth. âweïżœïżœïżœre gonna last long iâll tell you that, she is actually so interestingâ atsumu says still on the love bombing phase of the relationship âwhats her favorite color?â Kiyoomi asks not wanting to indulge atsumuâs âromanticâ talk even further âdoes it really matter?â Atsumu says a little bit tipsy from his beer.
while listening to atsumuâs incoherent babbling, kiyoomi cant wait to go home. He wants to go home to his long time girlfriend, his perfect, sweet and gentle girlfriend, who doesnât need him 24/7, never demands more than he could give, his picture perfect girlfriend that he will marry one day. Sheâs very low maintenance and spends her day in the hospital as a doctor whose undergoing her residency, life couldnât get better for him.
when atsumuâs girlfriend comes over to the bar and decides to do some freaky shit with atsumu in the bar bathroom thats when Kiyoomi decides to leave. he enters his apartment seeing how neat and organized everything is, this is exactly how he wants to live his life. âKiyoomi, im gonna be away for a few days for next weekâ his girlfriend of 3 years says to him
âagain?â
âyup, look um we need to talkâ
Kiyoomiâs ear perked up because of that sentence, âabout what?â He says while taking off his jacket. She takes a deep breath before letting out âi think weâre both unhappy.â
âhuh?â
âim unhappy.â
Kiyoomi stands there looking at the woman he loves, his favorite person, sheâs everything he ever wants and need, he grips the coat rack beside him so that he doesnât goes on his knees and beg for her to stay. âI think about it alot and i think sometimes away will benefits usâ
âWhat? no, baby, what are you talking about weâre fineâ
kiyoomi sees the bags behind her then something just dawned on him, she has already made up her mine, sheâs leaving for good âhow long have you been plan ing this?â Kiyoomi chuckles âone day you just pack up your things and what? Just leave? Three years, three fucking years and youâre out the door just like that?â
âi am alone in this relationship, you were just never here and its sickening omi, its sickeningâ
Those words are the last thing he hears before his brain just tune the fuck out of everything. The love of his life just left him and now, three weeks later heâs accompanying atsumu to his girlfriend graduation party as an idol, he doesnât understand the concept of this whole idol group formed by a survival show thing, he doesnât care either.
Atsumu just invited him so that he could fuck his girlfriend in the bathroom without anyone noticing, in other words, he was brought in as a distraction. In this room full of producers, managers and top 10 idols he still doesnt know what he should do or say. But one thing for sure he knows that these people, these idols are not his type. His type is the quiet type, the hard working girls who has something to do other than be his girlfriend.
As the night progressed he can feel himself missing his ex more and more, no one else can be more of his type than his ex. Then he sees you, the girl who is competing her fellow idols on stacking cups together as a party trick, youâre not his type, not at all. But for once, heâs planning to make an exception.

Kate X Fem!Reader
Concept: Reader has a crush on Kate (school/Uni setting) and she doesn't know how to tell her.
Warning: Cussing, mentions of smut, IM TRYING TO WRITE SLOW BURN BUT BEAR WITH ME ITS NEW!
Word Count: 2.7k
Youâre a month into your summer vacation and things couldnât be moreâŠboring. You love and appreciate your parents dearly for putting out the money so that you could attend a prestigious school in New York with a kick ass archery team but does it ever suck to be this far from all your friends for four months. To make the situation work, your dad had to transfer jobs to another state that pulls in a little more money annually with slightly more affordable housing but that means you arenât even near the people you grew up around. Rural Mississippi is a fairly big step from living in Boston. Boston at least had people, out here itâs like youâre lucky if you get to meet a neighbour because the land has us all so far apart. In all honesty, although itâs boring, you really have one specific reason for being so bummed out. Towards the end of your last semester, you got started getting closer with one of the girls a year younger on your team, Kate. Typically the older girls competed and practised together and the younger girls did the same. Although you two were only a year apart itâs just how things worked out, so you didnât cross paths very often. However, one day you were walking home from class, stopped to get coffee and basically bumped into her. The meeting was really brief but it was enough to make you catch feelings almost instantly.Â
Your interest in her grew as you followed her on Instagram and she followed back. Obviously you took a peak at her page and scrolled to the bottom laughing at the really cringey posts from 2015 she had still up. All you wanted to do was talk to her again but you didnât know how, although she was a year younger than you she intimidated you so much. Her deep blue eyes were honestly enough to make you stutter whenever you had the chance to talk to her. A month had gone by already and you could not wait to get back to school so you could see her again. Luckily, coach has yearly âteam-buildingâ days before the season starts and theyâre about half way through the summer so hopefully you can talk to her before then and maybe convince her to hang out when you come back to school.Â
Over the next week or so you liked a few story posts that sheâd upload every now and again but the day finally came where you felt like you could swipe up and respond to itâŠyâknowâŠmaybe spark a little conversation.Â
âDamn Bishop, is this a new bow?â In response to a story post of her showing off some of her off season training.Â
âHaha yeah it is, flips out and everythingâŠit's really freakinâ cool.â She replied almost instantly and that made a giant warm smile come across your face.Â
Shitâ what do you say back? Your main goal was honestly to keep the convo going so you could subtly mention down the line hanging out with her.Â
âYeah thatâs sick, wow Iâd kill to try something like that out.â
âWell next time I see you, please by all means give it a shotâ She replies back.
âMight just have to take you up on that. Howâs your summer going anyways?â
âItâs alright, kind of boring though. All my friends from school move back home and I am working for my momâs company over the summer so it all is just kind of dull. I miss going out and having fun. Wbu?â
âYeah, I hear that. I am SO bored here. I would kill to fast forward to the fall, I miss being at school honestly. Thereâs only so much I can do by myself here during the summer.â
âUgh right! I want it to be school again too but donât get me wrong, I love the summer, the weather is great here recently and the nightlife is amazing too. I just have nobody to go with, you know.â
âYeah I get it. Trust me, if I could be there to go out with you I would, there is definitely no nightlife here haha.â
Shit. That wasnât too forward was it? She is taking a while to respond to you. She hasnât even opened the message yet.Â
*4 minutes later*
âWell, youâre going to be around for that team-building thing coach has us doing in a couple of weeks right?â
âYeah, I should be.â
âWell, we can go out then if you want? Me and a few friends had plans but theyâre all on the team and Iâm sure theyâd love to have you there too.â
âYeah, that sounds great Iâd love to!â
The conversation pretty much ended there and your contact with her was fairly limited, just a small comment here or there until you finally got to fly back to school for summer training. You settle back into the apartment you left a couple months ago, everything is still a mess where you left it but the kitchen and living room are even filthier since you are not around to clean up much after your roommates. You decided to wait until your team practice to talk to Kate about hanging out again. You didnât want to come on too strong but also a small part of you feels like she forgot what she said months ago and you wonât end up seeing her, not outside of team stuff at least.Â
You grabbed your gear and headed to the field where practice was being held. You saw some of your friends from last year and decided to catch up with them before coach pulled you all in to start practice. You were trying your best not to make it obvious but your eyes were tracking all around you looking for Kate but she was nowhere to be seen.Â
*Whistle* âOkay team! Letâs bring it in. First, I just want to say thank you to everyone for making the effort to come back to campus for this, meeting Iââ
âSORRY SORRY SORRY!â You hear the coach interrupted as footsteps are fast approaching the circle of archers.Â
âHi Kate.â Says coach.
âI am SO sorry. My driver was running late and then there was traffic because of a giant accident, I think there was some battle in the streets again, I donât know, either way, my bad coach, wonât happen againâŠI promise.â She says with the most adorable grin that is absolutely saying she will be late again.Â
âItâs alright Kate, it happens, I was just telling the team how thankful I am that everyone could make the trip back to campus for this.â Coach went on to talk about the drills you were doing for the day and man was it hard to not be in awe watching her. You tried your best not to stare all day because the last thing you wanted to do was make it obvious but fuck it felt impossible. The day came to an end and you packed up your gear, Kate was talking with the other seniors on the team as they were gathering their things and started to head out. You could feel your window closing to talk to her but interrupting her conversation with her friends and âinvitingâ yourself out with them just felt too weird and uncomfortable. If it wasnât meant to be then it wasnât meant to be but you would kill to be able to just spend an hour with her.Â
You watched as she started to walk away towards the parking lot with her friends when all of a sudden she motioned for them to hold on a minute and she turned around and jogged over to you.Â
âHey y/n! Sorry we didnât get to catch up much during practice, I saw your shooting though itâs looking good.âÂ
YeahâŠyour face is bright red. Control your shit.Â
âAnyways, me and a couple friends are going out later tonight to a party that one of their friends is hosting. Itâs like a Hawaiian beach summer nights themed type of party so if you have something like that to wear, that would be great.â
âYeah, I might have something, Iâll take a look when I get home.âÂ
âCool! Iâll text you the address once I get it off my friend and Iâll see you there?â
âYeah, sounds good!âÂ
âHere, why donât you put your number into my phone, I donât like using DMâs that much.â
You take Kateâs phone out of her hand and fill out a contact for yourself, praying that she canât hear your heart beating out of your chest.Â
âCool, thanks, Iâll send you a text in a bit.â She says with a smile and then runs off to re-join her friends.Â
It seems silly sitting by your phone and literally watching the minutes tick by waiting for her to text you but thatâs all you could do. The anticipation felt like it was killing you.Â
Your phone finally buzzed with a mystery number attached, âHey y/n! Itâs Kate. SoâŠslight change of plans.â
Fuck. Is she bailing? Your eyes were glued on the three dots as she typed and you watched as they disappeared and reappeared.Â
âTurns out the party is actually around the corner from my place so if you wanted to just come here first, we could pre-game and shit and then walk over together? My friends said they were going out to get their hair done so theyâll be running late.â
âHey Kate, yeah no problem that works for me just send me your address and lmk what time you want me there.â
Kate dropped a pin of her location to you with the text attached telling you to come over at 7pm.Â
7pm rolled around and you were already there outside but you kind of felt like you should wait another minute or two so you werenât RIGHT on time. Or is it weird to be a minute late? But wouldnât being on time be weirder? Whatever, you decided to just wait a minute and then knock on her door.Â
Knocking on her door was the most nerve wracking thing you ever did, you were genuinely shitting bricks.Â
âHEY! Come in come in!â Kate eagerly yells at you as she swings the door open. Sheâs wearing shorts with a bright purple bikini top and a button down Hawaiian shirt over top that doesnât have a single button done up. Are you starring? Yes. Probably? Absolutely you are.Â
âMake yourself at home, feel free to grab a drink from the fridge, my roommates are out of town and left all their alcohol so help yourself.â She said with a laugh.Â
You heard that right? Her roommates are out of town. Just the two of youâŠyou never know.Â
You grabbed a drink from the fridge and took a seat on the couch next to her and yeahâŠthe drink started going down faster than usual because of all the nerves in your stomach. The two of you made small talk for awhile but the conversation started flowing a little more naturally about 2 drinks in. Were you still kind of awkward as hell? YeahâŠa little. But at least you warmed up to her a bit and werenât acting so weird. About an hour later, her friends showed up and grabbed you guys to head over to the party. Honestly, things were going so well with just the two of you that you didnât even want to go to this party but if it meant you got to spend more time with her then there you were. You got to the party and you honestly knew practically nobody. You werenât exactly a social butterfly but Kate clearly was. She was talking to EVERYBODY. The boys at the party especially loved her. There was lots of laughing and flirting going on, you could feel the jealousy building but acting out was definitely not an option. You ended up socialising with a few of the other people at the party but for most of the night you stuck by Kateâs side, the two of you got pretty drunk together, pouring shots for one another and dancing in the pit of people to extremely loud music. There was a point where it felt like it was just you and her and nobody else was there while the music was blasting into your ears and the two of you were jumping together to the beat and singing out the lyrics to whatever song was on at the time. Kate got really close to you until some guy would come and pull her away in an attempt to make a move on her. Although, it never actually happened. Kate always ended up finding her way back to you. At one point she grabbed your hand and pulled you into the middle of the crowd as the two of you sang (screamed) the lyrics to âlove storyâ into each other's faces. The party, as all do, started to simmer down. You guys actually ended up being some of the last people at the party, you stuck around to the point where the music was gone and most people were just sitting around chatting halfway sober.Â
âHey, I think Iâm going to go home, I am super tired right now.â Kate says to you.Â
âOkay, Iâll walk with you, I left my bag at your place anyways so I have to grab it.âÂ
âRight, sounds good.âÂ
Although the two of you had been singing and dancing for hours, she looked just as perfect as when you left and you were trying your hardest not to stare at her while the two of you were walking side-by-side.Â
The walk back to her place was pretty quick, when the two of you got inside you went to grab your bag and get your things together. You were desperately trying to figure out what to say to her while you were organising your stuff. You didnât want to come on too strong but you also want to make sure that she knows you had a good timeâŠI guess just tell her exactly that?
âI had a really good time tonight, thanks again for inviting me.â You say as youâre leaning against the wall in her hallway.Â
âOf course, anytime. And I did too. We should really hang out more when we come back to school.â She replies.Â
Kate walks towards you and stops about a foot away leaning up against the doorframe to her bedroom. The hallway is super narrow and all you can think about is pinning her against the wall while you kiss down her neck and pull her tight by her waist.Â
âYeah I think so too. I guess I should probably head out.â You say as she looks at you with the softest eyes that you swore said âplease stayâ. You lingered for a second longer as the two of you were looking at each other, tired, kind of tipsy and on the verge of ripping each other's clothing off. All you wanted was for her to actually ask you to stay a little longer but before she had the chance you were already walking towards the door.Â
âHave a good night y/n.â She says. âText me when you get home safe.â
âI will. Sleep well Kate.â You reply as you turn to look at her with a smile and step out the front door.Â
That goodbye felt different. It felt like there were still feelings in the air and lots that wanted to be said that wasn't. It felt like the perfect opportunity with nobody around after an amazing night together has passed but you regret none of it. Although you werenât able to get a confirmation on whether or not Kate even likes women like you do, you knew there was definitely a type of tension between the two of you that she definitely noticed.

Flufftober prompt 29: Vacation (Lambert)
chat im going to be so real i didnt mean for there to be so many cult of the lamb fics for this month but ykw im not complaining.... if there was anything i could change, it would be rewriting shamura and narinders pieces esp because their fics were written before the bishops final quests were added in buuuuuuuut its too close to my personal deadline for this as i write this (a few days before october 1st) so yeah heres to hoping i give writing them another shot in the future! list here woo yeah baby plot: you steal the leader away for a day spent at pilgrims passage... its hardly a vacation but its a break the lamb accepts with open arms notes: reader is gn, reader is written as an aquatic creature in mind but you can tune out the details to make them anything, reader is a disciple and has been around for a long long time, takes place post game while the lamb is getting the bishops, they/them pronouns for lambert word count: 1506 cws: none
Things were only getting harder after each addition to the cult, and as dissention grows the Lamb finds themselves getting stretched thinner. Always sent away to retrieve something- or someone- from the world outside the flock.
They were dead tired, despite what they told you; but you could see the drag in their hooves and the way their eyes squinted when a cultist flagged them down for their attention.
So when you noticed the kitchens running low on fish you jumped at the chance to steal the leader away for some much needed time away from the cult. Hence why you are now both standing at the shore of Pilgrim's Passage.
You lower yourself onto the sand and dangle your feet off of the sudden drop, and watched the waves under you. It wasn't still, but they weren't slamming into the rock and dirt. You watch at the red crown shifted into the form of a rod and casts itself into the water.
"You don't need to do that, you can buy from..." You eye darts to the figure a few meters away. "You know, the fisherman." Your mouth tightened a bit as you peeled your eyes away and looked to your leader. "We've more than enough coin to cover it,"
Lambert's mouth worked itself before they looked back down at you, curling it into a faint smile. "I know, but fishing is nicer. It let's me turn my brain off for a while!"
That was true. They would be gone for far longer than one would expect when coming down to the coast.
"You don't have to be here, truth be told I was hoping you'd stay behind and keep an eye on everyone..."
You shrug, fingers sinking deeper into the warm sand. Your fins stretched as you smiled at them. "Julty can handle it on their own! besides who would keep you company and make sure you don't spend the entire weekend here? You know they don't like the water, anyways."
Julty, the yellow cat turned from hard working farmer to devoted disciple.
Lambert says something you can't quite hear, shifting to sit down next to you. Their hands grip the fishing rod, fingers tapping on the reel. "There's still so much work to be done,"
They look so tired, but not defeated.
"The flock is growing and there needs to be precautions set, with the bishops... I'm surprised Leshy hasn't burned anything down yet, but we're struggling to keep up with Heket's appetite." They mumble the last part to themselves.
"Why not kill them?" You want to say, but the words don't dare sneak past your lips. If Lambert wanted the bishops dead, they would have done so already- they'd never think to bring them to the flock. There has to be a reason they've brought them here, even if temporarily.
You shift your jaw, and you lean forward over the edge of the drop as the Lamb begins talking to themselves again.
"And if the flock finds out the bishops are here, the dissention could- HEY-" They scramble to grab at you before you can fall into the water but they're not fast enough.
In an instant you're under the waves, the water warm against your scaled body. Your head breaks the surface as you smile up at your leader, who was about to jump to follow you... You file that away for later. "Why-" They began before you shot a stream of water through your mouth at them.
They splutter and glare down at you, although they don't seem to be all that angry. You duck under the water as the red crown morphs into something- what form it takes you don't know, as everything fades into darkness as you lower yourself into the water.
The hook of the fishing rod breaks the surface above you.
You stare at it, before a grin breaks across your face. You hook a finger around it and give it a tug. Lambert tugs back, not enough to tear you out of the water or bring you closer to the shore- but enough to raise you closer to the water's surface. You swim upwards, clinging onto the line.
"Oh dear it appears I've been caught!" You cry out into the air as you let the line pull you.
"Yup," The Lamb pulls you even closer, face still dripping with water. "I've never caught a talking fish before... real big one too, maybe we can use this one for a feast!"
You tug away from the line, grin evident on your face as you watch your leader grip the rod tighter in their hands. "No! I wouldn't taste good-" You give another tug.
"Or maybe we could indulge and eat this one live and strung up-" They grin back at you.
You give another tug, this one a little too rough- you snap around and splash water everywhere just in time to see Lambert falling forward into the water.
"Shit- shitshitshit-" You hiss as you dive forward, stopping only when Lambert emerges from the waves.
"My lead-" You begin before they splash salty water in your face. Your face scrunches as you begin to splutter out of instinct. "That's for getting my face wet."
You gag, but the salt water wasn't anything new to you. "So mean, I was just trying to help you cool off is all-" You spit into the ocean and sink chin deep into the water, leaving only your face visible.
You open an eye and look at the lamb, who was wading through the water. It wasn't deep here, only high enough to come up to their chest. You rise to your feet in the water, no longer needing to swim now that you were in the shallower parts of the water.
"Lambert?"
"There aren't really any fish here today, maybe I should have done a ritual for some luck..."
You frown, they'd already returned to prioritizing the flock. You drag your feet through the water. "We've still got plenty of other meats, and as I said earlier you can always just buy some fish."
They frown, before clapping their palms together and taking a deep breath. "That's fine, I can just run through Anchordeep and get some, I need to go there anyways to get Kallamar,"
"Lambert," You said their name firmer this time. Finally, they looked at you. Their bell jingled softly as they raised an ear. "Hm?" is all they give you.
"You can go to Anchordeep later, there isn't really a rush is there? You just got done with Anura-" You walk with them to the dock, and help them up onto the wood. "The bishops can wait for you, I'm sure a few days is a blink for them."
Lambert lowered their hands to pull you up from the water. You take them, and they pull you up next to them. You both sit on the dock, their hands still wrapped around yours.
Their fingers squeeze you, before relaxing. Their face is screwed in thought, eyes fixated somewhere on your face. For a moment, they almost seem sad. For what, you can't say.
"Time is different for Gods, but that doesn't mean I don't have a job to finish,"
They pause as they watch your eyes burn into theirs.
"But," They cling tighter onto your hands once more. "I suppose, the flock can manage themselves for a little while longer."
They turn your hand over and trace their thumb along your palm. Then, their fingers interlock with yours.
You smile just slightly as you look out to the sea. The sun had begun to lower and cast it's light across the water, staining it orange.
"We can try to fish again tomorrow, I can help you," You offered. "So you don't come back to the flock empty handed,"
"I'd like that very much."
"How does four days sound?" You ask, "Then we can return, that should be enough time to catch plenty."
They turn over your words in their head.
"Three days, I do not want to leave Julty with all the work,"
"There's other disciples... but.." You trail off and swing your feet over the edge of the dock. The Lamb grips you, preventing any chance of diving back into the water. Not that the thought crossed your mind. "Three days can work,"
They nod, and rise to their feet. "Where are you going?" You ask.
"Checking to see if the Lighthouse Keeper has a spare place to rest for the time being,"
You watch them walk to the edge of the dock, before turning to their left to the lighthouse.
The waves shift under you, hitting the dock's support. Still, the Lamb was putting the needs of their flock before themselves. Lambert did not need to sleep.
You pull your knees up to your chest and watch the light glint through the sea. Beautiful shades of orange and yellow and blue shimmer for you. By the time Lambert returns, the sun had long set.

~Zeno Headcanons~
A/N: headcanons for my lovely wife, @larz-barz! I will probably add to these every now and then, Iâll reblog it when I do!
It is no secret that Zeno is tall
Like, man is a giant
A whole 6â1â(or 6â2â, I canât remember-)
Point Iâm trying to make is, he likes to carry people around
Like, even if the person is taller than him or the same height, he will swoop up behind them and carry the bridal style
He also likes putting people on his shoulders
Especially kids
OH MY GOSH HE LOVES KIDS
He has no siblings, so when he interacts with young children, he gets really happy
He wants to have at least 2-3 kids so they wonât grow up lonely like he did
Zeno lore drop? đ
Zeno has a very weak immune system, which was the cause of most of his loneliness
Super big lore drop, Zeno has lymphomaâ
Its minor though, it doesnât hinder him much besides making him get sick a lot
But his parents didnât want to have more kids in case they had lymphoma too
And since he was sick often, he wasnât allowed to play with other kids much as to not get them sick either
OKAY THATâS ENOUGH ZENO LORE FOR TODAY-
TUNE IN NEXT TIME FOR HIS âš MOMMY ISSUES âš
*Ahem-*
ANYWAYS-
Zenoâs favorite food is Zosui, a Japanese rice soup!
He likes it because he learned to make it from a very young age (like⊠9?) and his cousin taught him how to cook it
Zeno is very good at household chores. He cooks fairly often, even more so when he becomes a demon slayer since heâs out on his own
He also enjoys cleaning, finding the process rather satisfying
He also sewed his haori himself!
Zeno took a collection of fabric of his two favorite colors, and turned them into a haori
So in conclusion, the man is good housewife material
Someone better wife him up rn
*AHEM* Larz *AHEM*
âŠ.. yall hear smth?
Moving on, Zeno obviously is a very teasing dude
He LOVES to tease the living daylights outa people
Whether that be flirtatiously or not
But he is also, âš easily flustered âš
Perfect combo, I know đ
Heâll tell someone how cute/handsome/gorgeous they are without breaking a sweat
But the moment they throw it right back at him, he is suddenly a very blushy blushy boy o////o
Heâd freeze for a few seconds then probably rub the back of his neck, a habit of his
OH YEAH
HE ALSO HAS VERY WARM HANDS
Larz can confirm, this is in one of our rps
His hands are like little heating packets
Oh, youâre shivering? Zeno to the rescue đ€©
GOSH IM RUNNING OUT OF IDEAS-
Zeno is a very pretty sleeper
Bro looks majestic in his sleep and I have a photo to prove it.

:>
Also yeah, he got some long lashes
Bro is just pretty 24/7
One thing that really irks Zeno, is when he gets accused of being a player/fboy bc of his personality
And yes, this has happened before
He was jokingly flirting with Aoi when he was helping her buy groceries and some random lady from the street stomped up to him and started lecturing him to ânot play with a young ladyâs heartâ
Yeah-
Zeno has his own house(ik, weird for a 17yo)
But he stays there the days/nights he doesnât have missions
He lives alone(poor lonely bby đą) but likes to have people over often
He also likes to cook large portions of food and take them to the elderly people who live in his village, that way they get a free meal and they donât have to eat alone(if they live alone)
Heâs just a cutie patootie + bbg
A/N: THATS ALL FOR NOW, ILL ADD MORE WHEN I THINK OF THEM!

Ok well its been a few hours i got some sleep and its time to share my thoughts and feelings on yakuza 0. Naturally i will be spoiling left andright so i will be putting this under The Cut
really, TREMENDOUSLY fun game i have not had this much enjoyment with anything in my life for the past several months. seriously seriously way too fun and im like genuinely considering attempting to 100% it.
this is partially because I NEEEEEEED to go back and finish all the substories but also i havent spent a whole lot of time with the minigames which is a crying shame because there was so much love put into every aspect of this game. And also because if i pick up thenext game in the series i will be staying up until 5:30 on a school night again. Which techinically i skipped class today because i have a sick note but still we donthave time for that sort of shenangianery right now. so the next game will proably be a thanksgiving break adventure so stay tuned
Ok. now lets get into final thoughts and feelings on the plot.
truly and honestly i think kiryu's story could have SEVERELY benefited from some streamlining. the issue is its a little bit all over the place and im not sure if thats because the authors had too many ideas and wanted to cram them all in, or too little ideas and needed to stretch the plot out to last for his assigned 8 chapters.
like the whole thing is kind of just kiryu being jerked around by everybody and everything around him and like . i dont know it kind of feels like we're spending a lot more time reacting to stuff that other people do as opposed to being proactive. i guess. im kind of struggling to put this into words
and like at the very end it kind of feels like his story is getting co-opted by majima's because the focus again jerks over to this random girl he's met for the first time and has like no attachment or personal connection to outside of being his boss' sister. You know.
like we go from framed for murder, have to prove my innocence so that my boss doesnt get roped into this and also i dont get arrested -> join real estate firm to secure incredibly valuable piece of property and also find the dude who actually killed that guy -> on the run from my original yakuza family because they all want to kill me -> Ok nevermind my boss bought their boss off -> ok yippee we found the owner of the land who is also my boss's sister -> oh no my boss is now dead his sister is gone and also they want to kill me again -> save his sister and beat up the guy who wants to kill us all . yippee the end
which like. Well the problem is its more like a series of events that follow each other and like obviously they have relation but theyre not really tied together in a way that makes it feel like a natural progression/buildup. like our climax does not really have that much to do with where we started off because shibusawa ISNT EVEN THE GUY WHO SENT THAT HITMAN!!!!!!! hes not the man who framed kiryu for murder and he's not the man that did the murder!!!!!!!!! Hes Kind Of Just Some Shmuck!!!!!!!!!!!!! and like it would be one thing if kuze was the final boss (which i would still be annoyed by because i seriousyl dont want to fight that guy anymore) because at least he's been causing problems for us since day one BUT HES NOT EVEN??!??!!?! like shibusawa has basically nothing to do with kiryu and its just such a baffling choice.
anyways so basically kiryu's story needed to be streamlined and aggressively so. the fact that it wasnt kiryu but MAJIMA who takes down the real killer is just like. well its kind of an insane writing choice. just all around. im also still a little salty the real killer was just some random assassin guy like Ok whatever.... kicks up dust cloud................. <- No im not bitter that its not nishiki..... yes i am................
additionally im ultimately still kind of baffled by the choice to have oda be the guy who sold off mikoto because i feel like it really wasnt . well frankly all that relevant. Like they didnt really do much with it and kind of left me feeling like Ok what was the point of all that then..........?.
honestly im half convinced that they constructed the overarching story around majima's side and then had to fenagle part of kiryu's into working with it which is like. well . a shame because its actively detrimental. i think if they had worked on giving mikoto and kiryu more of a connection then it wouldve flowed a lot better; like im thinking about the brief conversation they had in the hotel where shes talking about her insanely shitty life - if they had expanded on that more i feel like it wouldve done some serious legwork for making this not feel like 57 insane side tangents tacked on one after another
like mikoto is absolutely central to the story but she has basically no connection to one of the main leads outside of being his boss' sister - i guess like making oda the guy who sold her was their attempt to do something about that but its not like. well frankly its not like they really did anything with thtat. so i dont know its just kindof frustrating
i think majima's plot is a lot more compelling because its frankly a whole lot less complicated. mikoto is the heart of it and everything revolves intimately around her story and so like when kiryu's story bleeds into majima's via tachibana it feels a lot more like its being woven into as opposed to co-opting.
Ok well while we're talking about it i want to take this opportunity to talk about how tremendously happy i am with the way they decided to play mikoto and majima's relationship Because my main concern was that (especially with all the commentary from people in the game) it was going to be straight up "omg theyre totally in love.........." Again despite the fact that well they dontknow each other all that particularly well in a context that isnt immediate/impending life or death situation.
but nope THEY CAME THROUGH FOR MEEEEEEEEEE because ultimately in this sort of situation the absolute best thing you can do for everybody and everything involved is leave it vague and undetermined. all we really need to know for this to be compelling is that they care about each other and they care about each other a lot, and what form that manifests in is really kind of secondary. And of course the ending is like *chef's kiss* Congratulations you made me miserable. tremendously good job
its like really what i said in that last 4 chapter set roundup post u KNOWWWWWW i eat that doomed/star crossed ambiguous maybe could have been lovers stuff up like the very circumstances that brought them together and gave them the connection that they had is what keeps them apart SLAMS MY FIST INTO THE WALLLLLLLL like at the end when they run into each other for the first time in two years and she's finally regained her eyesight but he cant say anything to her because he doesnt want her to recognize him........................... FUCK!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! THE FACT THAT SHE NEVER EVEN KNEW HIS NAMEEEEEEE........... THE WAAAAAAAAAAATCH......................... (DRIVES OFF CLIFF
like as always the fact that its doomed to fail is truly what sells it for me. Maybe i want us all to be a little miserable. togheter<3
Personally i think mikoto shouldve gotten to kill the entire dojima family leadership but whatever (kicks up dust cloud
also genuinely insane how majima is just like Fine i guess with working with sagawa and his boss that tortured him in a pit for a year like buddy Youre crazy. these people suck can you please find a better profession
the car chase minigame was so good. THE HELICOPTER?!?!?!?!? THE MISSILES!?!?!?!??!?!???? Chef's Kiss. game that was made for me

hi! Im so sorry to hear about your friends and goodluck on your finals. What you guys in the US are going through is insane and I just wanted to let you know we stand with you here in Australia.
Im from the University of Sydney Encampent. We were the first in Australia and I think we now have 9 encampments across the country and many more to come. At USYD the university has been very calm about us, too calm, but yesterday we had a massive counter rally on campus that hundreds of people came to and the zionist group did a rally as well and we tripled them easily. Things are starting to ramp up for us across Australia, from zionists and right-wingers, the universities and the cops, but we have had so much community support and it's so great to see.
Again, stay safe, good luck
Free free Palestine
Thank you so much. It happened in the early hours of the morning, I was not there. I feel a little bad about that, but I also know the organizers and know they understood the risk they were taking sleeping overnight and understood why not everyone could take that risk. One of my dearest friends was on nightwatch duty, and he walked out for a few minutes to go get food. When he came back the SWAT team had been called and had surrounded everyone. He couldnât get in. They had rifles and armored vehicles, all for about 20 sleeping students and 30 people watching over them. Itâs just so demoralizing to see how little people around me seem to care that admin is calling in cops to break bones. My poor professor was so distraught when some people didnât show up to class the next day, she would start every single conversation by asking if the person knew where her students were. It was kinda heartbreaking.
We no longer have an active encampment. At this point I think everyone is hoping to make it through finals, get everyoneâs charges dropped, and regroup. Everyoneâs bail has been paid, and at least one student is out of the hospital- no word on the other one. More people than ever seem to be tuning in, and professors are starting to stand up and demand the charges against their students be dropped. Theyâre also unionizing! Itâs starting to get a little too real on campus, but it is nothing compared to what students in Gaza have suffered through.
That isnât to say the Zionists havenât tried to give us a run for our money! Weâre located near a road, and a white woman tried to run us over with her SUV. How funny those things never make the news. Nonetheless. Once finals are over Iâm excited to get out there. I think everyone is just more fired up now thatâs ever before.
Free Palestine!

2? Or 4? For the prompt thing
2: "Can I kiss you?â
As it turned out, there was not a lot of time to - as Mai put it - "DTR" in the hour or so between Sokka and Zuko's first kiss and their last hug for three months. There wasn't time for much talking at all, really, just the first kiss, then the second, and the third, and the twenty third, and then people were calling their names and the sun was getting higher in the sky and Sokka was rushing to the hot air balloon with Zuko at his side as they both tried to put into words everything they needed to say.
"I'll write you."
(The blank parchment seemed to burn Zuko's eyes as it stood between him and his bed after another long day)
"I'll be back soon."
(It was supposed to be a month. One month, then a quick visit, just for fun. Sokka had to delay it to take care of matters at home.)
"Sokka...you know you're my best friend, right?"
(The words fell flat, at least to his own ears. "Best friend"? That didn't seem to scratch the surface, but nevertheless it was still true, and it would have to do for now.)
"I'll miss you."
And that had been it. The last three words Sokka said to his face, and Zuko replayed them in his mind for weeks. Sokka would miss him. Zuko certainly missed Sokka. He missed him in the silence in the halls and in the empty space at dinner and in the loneliness in his study. He tried not to miss him too much, tried not to get distracted, but it proved a difficult task now that he knew firsthand just how distracting Sokka could be.
And he didn't want to be selfish. Really, Sokka had more important things to think about than Zuko. He had better uses of his time than vacations or even just extending the trip of a few days of meetings in the Fire Nation to an entire week. But Zuko couldn't help but want him here, or to be with Sokka in the South Pole.
Until he could make the trip, the week of meetings and sneaking out of the walls and staying up too late talking about nothing and brushing up on their sparring early the next day would have to do. Zuko would soak up every selfish second he could, starting as soon as Sokka's hot air balloon landed.
Which is why he's standing and waiting impatiently, ignoring the whispers of Suki and Ty Lee behind him, clasping his hands together so no one can see them shaking or fidgeting nervously.
As Sokka gets closer, Zuko wants to say he only has eyes for the Fire Lord, but he can't honestly tell, and he can't really think other than to will the landing to go faster. It seems to last twenty years but it's over in a second.
"Zuko."
Not Fire Lord, not Lord Zuko, not Zuzu, not Suki's terrible idea of the nickname of Zooks...Zuko. Has his name always sounded like that? Or is it different because Sokka is the one saying it?
"Sokka."
He puts everything he can't say into those two syllables, and hopes Sokka can hear them. His face brightens, and...of course Sokka understands. He understands Zuko so well that some days it terrifies him, but on days like today, it only reminds him how far gone he is. He's sure Sokka can tell how quickly and how loudly his heart is beating as they embrace, but Zuko doesn't care, he just holds him and holds him and--
"Can I kiss you?"
It's a quiet request, one spoken against his right ear, discreet enough that Zuko could decline and save them any embarrassment.
He wouldn't dare.
He pulls back, just barely, so that he can see Sokka's face but they're still close enough for Zuko to hold him in his arms, solid and real and warm. He allows himself to be selfish, to imagine that the two of them are the only ones in the world and there is nothing for them to do except to be together, and he answers Sokka's question with a kiss.
#zukka#zuko#sokka#my writing#prompts#im getting around to these over the next few days stay tuned#anonymous#thank u friend!!#ask me stuff

âąSummary:
You work the night shift at a local dog kennel for boarding and daycare. You love the peace and quiet of the shift, but just when you get comfortable- a few break-ins happen around town, and upper management decides to place your quiet, brooding, shift lead on the schedule with you.
âœâ§ Chapter Three: Musically In Tune â§âŸ
-Y/N POV-
Your second class wasn't supposed to start for another fifteen minutes, but you really didn't have the energy to get out of bed. You hated that you only had one day off work, sure your job was alright, but using your other day off as the day to schedule all your classes was really not the move, because now you didn't want to attend the lectures. The text that popped up on your phone didn't help focusing much either. Why was he texting you? Did he want you to come in on your day off?
Logan đș:
Hows school nerd?
âWeirdâ You said aloud, laughing to yourself as the small adrenaline rush of having to come in dissipated.
You:
Not exactly better than work, but not worseÂ
Logan đș:
I can always call you in for an âemergencyâ haha
You:
No thanks! Lol
Next thing you knew your phone was flooding with sad cat memes about school. Your face quickly started to ache from laughing so much.Â
Logan đș:
Donât tell the boss im memeing on company time
You:
You are my boss stupidÂ
Logan đș:
Oh, yeah⊠guess I am ;)Â
It was so bizarre seeing this side of him. In just a week he had gone from this âquiet shift lead that no one really wants to talk toâ to âcoworker that you look forward to working with everydayâ to now, acquaintances? Friends? You didn't really know. It was hard for you to draw lines between stages of friendship at work. Maybe he was just being nice to make you feel more comfortable around him?Â
Logan đș:
So⊠what class are you in right now?
You:
Just about to start music theoryÂ
Logan đș:
RIP haha
Need any help studying? Iâm pretty good with musicÂ
You:
I might take you up on that actually lolÂ
I never have time for this class so now im nearly failing
Logan đș:
Bring your stuff next shift and weâll work on it :)
You:
Thank youuuu :â)
You turned the screen off on your phone and tried your best to pay attention during your lecture, but you couldn't shake the nervous energy you had built up thinking about the next shift working with him.Â
It didn't take long for the next workday to arrive. You had barely slept at all, staying up studying and trying to catch up in your other courses was beginning to take a toll on you. You arrived barely on time for your shift, quickly getting the usual updates from departing day staff before clocking in. You headed into the break room and set your things down before collapsing into the seat and catching your breath. Youâd just barely remembered to grab your music theory notes and homework, collecting them in a rush and making you run just enough behind that youâd be late if you picked up food for the shift. At least you would be able to get some help from Logan tonight though and hopefully your next exam would go over better than the last.Â
The day shift quickly finished up and clocked out. Logan seemed to be running a bit late, so once everyone else had clocked out and left you began the duties of the night. You were on your second rotation of letting dogs out when you heard his car pull up, so you didn't turn to look when you heard the backdoor open and a few more dogs run out. You continued playing with one of the more shy dogs that was boarding for the night and watched to make sure everyone was getting along.
âHey there.â You felt a warm hand on your back, a sharp contrast with the bite in the cold fall air. You tried to ignore the nagging feeling in the pit of your stomach acting up.Â
âOh hey!â a slightly-too-loud laugh falling from your lips.Â
âI stopped at Starbucks and got us some coffee.â An uneven smile painted his face, making him look almost comical with his cold bitten nose and pale skin, along with those signature dark circles under his eyes.Â
âOh wow, thank you! I was running late and wasn't able to stop for anything today.â You smiled and accepted the warm cup and took an eager sip, grateful to have some caffeine for the night.Â
âOh huh, perfect timing I guess? You're welcome.â He chuckled and offered a smile just as warm as the cup in your hands. âI can order some food or snacks later too.â He took a sip of his own cup and huffed, his breath forming a small cloud in front of him due to the freezing temperature. As much as you despised the cold and how it made your already poor circulation in your hands feel like pins and needles, you did really love the aesthetics of it: the clouds of breath, the way it made faces redden, the smell that was draped across everything the night before a big thunderstorm or heavy snowfall, the oversized hoodies and layered outfits that everyone seemed buried in, big boots with chunky socks- it was all very comforting in a way, it seemed to round out the edges in a very sharp world.
The night went by much the same as it began. There was a very comforting feeling about the weather and the mood that you were both in, even the dogs seemed very subdued. Time seemed to go by a bit slower, which you happily welcomed after weeks of vigorous study.Â
Though time seemed to be lulling along peacefully, you got your nightly duties done in record time. You blamed the unusually well behaved dogs. It wasn't long before you were both sitting at the front desk again, joking around and playing some light music. He hesitantly showed you a few of his favorite bands. You assumed his apprehension was from fear of judgment. Lucky for him, you both enjoyed darker, more melancholy music.Â
You both listened to his Spotify playlist while he helped you on your coursework. You bopped along to several songs you recognized as he read through your work. BONES, Xavier Wulf, and several other artists played softly through the speakers.Â
âMm, yeah not this oneâŠâ You sheepishly laughed as you clicked skip on Cholesterol, not needing to feel too melancholic tonight. He merely chuckled and nodded with firm agreement. You were surprised by his knowledge about music, he helped you get through the entirety of your homework, as well as explained a bunch of the questions youâd missed on the last exam you brought with you.Â
âHow do you know all this? I feel like you know more than my professor honestlyâŠâ You laughed as you finished up the last question and shut your notebook. Heâd managed to explain everything all in a way that was actually making sense to you. Heâd even related back to songs that played out softly on the speakers and used them as examples to the concepts.Â
âI sincerely fucking doubt thatâŠâ He chuckled tiredly. âI just- know music I guess⊠I spend a lot of time with and around it, I uh- Iâve even made a couple songs myselfâŠâ You smiled as you caught the red tint on his heated cheeks.
âWait really?â You gave him a surprised look.Â
âYeah, I donât know if they're any good, but I like making them.â He shrugged and passed you the keyboard and mouse to play music.Â
âCan I hear one?â You pried, making him slump into his chair further and groan softly. Â
âAhh I donât know, y/nâŠâ He huffed and rolled his eyes playfully. âI haven't really shown anyone, but I guess if you promise to not make fun of meâŠâ he turned slightly and narrowed his eyes at you, â...or tell anyone here- maybe Iâll bring my computer next time or somethingâŠâÂ
âHmm, weâll seeâŠâ You squinted back, jokingly challenging him before laughing.
âIâll write you up I swear to god y/nâŠâ He joked back, laughing along with you.Â
âOoOkay boss manâŠâ

Masterlist
The calls of your name were unheard as you slept the day away, recovering from a bad case of cramps and nausea. Matt, of course, had no idea and was starting to panic at the smell of blood coming from your apartment; which he picked up on at the door to your building.Â
After a few attempts at calling for you his knocks became more harsh, his tone more aggravated, his words more rushed.
He paused and crooked his neck up to listen for your heartbeat, but this floor was one of the busiest. After a few seconds of searching, dread filled him when his results were inconclusive.
He pulled out the spare set of emergency keys from his jacket pocket and felt for the keyhole. Feeling the ridges of the key, he pushed and turned it until he heard a âclickâ before almost busting the door down opening it.
âHun? Hun, are you okay?â He shouted as he dropped the keys upon entry and guided himself as fast as he could through your apartment.
After thankfully hearing your heart steadily beating he followed the sound to your bedroom, his nerves calming a bit after hearing proof of your well-being.Â
He stopped for a moment at your door, knocking despite his intent to go in regardless of a response. He opened the door and rushed to your bed, his hands searching for your body. Â
He quickly felt your hair splayed out next to you and was able to locate your shoulders; his touch waking you up from your nap.
âAre you hurt?â
âMatt, what? When did-â
âWhere are you bleeding from?â
He cut you off, beginning to feel around your head and face for any injuries which could explain where the smell of blood was coming from. By now you were completely awake, half annoyed and half amused at the evident worry in his actions, voice, and face.
You removed his hands from your face and sat up to gently guide him to sit on your bed. âMatt, the only place I'm bleeding out of is my vagina.â You said and booped the tip of his nose with your index finger.
His face immediately flushed pink as he realized his overreaction and his tense body relaxed, taking your hand and kissing it.
âIm sorry,â he laughed, âI might have been a bit overdramatic.â He said and placed the palm of your hand on his cheek, feeling your warmth on his face.
His tenderness made you smile, âA bit? I thought you were gonna call an ambulance.â You said, a grimace following the words as another jolt of pain was sent through you. He picked up on the spasms causing you pain and planted a kiss on your forehead.
âAnything I can get you while Iâm here? Food? Ibuprofen? Something?â He hurriedly asked while you scooted over in your bed, making room for him to lay with you.
You patted the now open spot next to you, âJust hold me for a bit, would you?â You almost pleaded, knowing the comfort his presence provided.
You closed your eyes and missed the smile plastered across his face, âOf course.â He muttered quietly as he began to undress. He took off his suit jacket, tie, and shoes before taking his place at your side.
He scooped one arm under your neck and another around your waist, cradling you as you leaned your face against his chest. You took a big inhale of his clean scent and exhaled, only to do it again a moment later. This plus the sound of his heartbeat was enough to take your mind off the pain.
He stayed there with you as you drifted off back to sleep, the sensations of your skin, hair, and breathing allowing him to focus on something besides the outside world and terror within it.
The peace you found in each other was like no other.

Bimbo.

â ïžWarningsâ ïž: Rin calling reader an idiot,lukewarm,reader being nosy,grammar,swear words,reader low-key stupid(in a cute way).
G:đđ[fluff,angst]
You were so curious about the dark aura that surrounded your classmate, the one that everyone warned you to stay away from.
But you couldn't help it.
So you took a seat next to him that day,he didn't seem to notice you,but you were trying to act normal and not make it obvious.
"Don't''. You heard him say.
"Hm?".
"I'm aware of why you sat here,And i know who you are too.Your that idiot that goes around not knowing when to mind her business".
You stare at him blankly,no one has ever said anything like to you before.
"And im not interested in being your friend, you're annoyingly lukewarm".
Was all he said before going back to his homework.
You stare blankly at the wall. You instantly get up and rushed to the bathroom, with you friends following behind after witnessing what happened.
"How could he be so mean!?". You cried as you hugged your closest friend.
"We warned you about him"
"I know but I really wanted to talk to him!".
"He clearly wants nothing to do with you".
"Yeah, (y/n) ,Rin is a lost cause, give up on the guy".
Its not that simple.
But the way things are looking now it really does seem like you should give up on him.
But you were determined to make your dream into a reality!.
You pushed away from your friend.
"I'm gonna make Itoshi Rin mine!,if it's the last thing I do!".
"How can you say that out loud?".
"Good luck".
......
Your next period, You skipped over to the seat next to Rin after you pushed past the person who tried to sit there.
Rin side eyes you."I thought I told you I'm not interested in being your friend".
"We don't have to be friends for me to sit next to you".
He ignored you and turns back to what he was doing.
For nearly the whole class you managed to tune out the voice of your teacher and admire your crush. And all the reasons you fell in love with him.
You look up at him and couldn't help but get lost in how pretty he was.
He was sitting next to the window so the sun danced perfectly of his pale skin and his pretty blue eyes maintained focus on the book he was reading.
His unique eyelashes made your heart throb.
And the sakura petals gently gliding in the wind only enhanced the God like view you were getting.
''(Y/N)!".
You shrieked at the loud voice.
''Y-yes?". You timidly ask your teacher.
"Itoshi Rin isn't your top priority, Not to mention your failing this class so I suggest that you pay attention".
Your classmates snickered as you try to defend yourself from your teacher's insult. But you stopped when you realize what your teacher said.
"Actually Rin is my top priority at the moment,Now that I think about it".
You said out flatly as of it was something normal to say.
The class went silent.
''Im trying to get him to be my friend but it's a work in progress."
Your classmates looked over at the male in the corner of the room next to you.
'Yeah that's not gonna happen '. They all said to themselves.
Rin didn't say anything, he only got up and left after the bell rung .
You jump from your seat and grabbed your bag, swinging it in your hand as you skip after your target.
He noticed that you were following him and walked faster.
"You know what I said in there was true, You are my top priority, I wanna be friends with you!". You beamed .
He gives you a hard side eye,as he scoffed.
"So lukewarm".
"What dose that mean?!,I haven't even said anything!".
A few weeks past and your "friendship" with Rin grew just a bit...
"Stop staring at me''. He complained.
You snapped out of your thoughts.
"Oh,im Sorry Rinny-chan". You giggled.
"I've told you not to call me that."
''Hm?,why? it's so cute though, and I like it!''. You stuck your tongue out after saying this.
"So lukewarm" .
You glared at the male after he insulted, "I don't like it when you call me that". You said pouting.
"And I hate it when you call me that stupid nickname".
"What's wrong with Rinny?".
"Its lukewarm".
"I'm going to call you it whither you like it or not!,But anyway Rinny-chan,My stop is over here!". You shouted as you were already separating from your "friend".
He stops for a bit before you left, but he dosent reply. He just watches as you make it to the curb before waving at him as if it was the last goodbye.
"Bye Rinny-chan!". You examined loudly from your far away distance.
Him waiting for you to reach the curb, would happen unsuspectedly,he just found himself doing it every time you two walk home together.
His body wouldn't move till he knew you made it half way to your destination safely.
But he never replies back he'd just ignore you and prossedes to walk home.
Well that's what you see ever time, but Rin has a very small smile on his face whenever you shout the nickname you gave him out loud. It adorable how you made his manly name sound cute.
He thought he would hate it but the few more times it left you mouth he begins to realizes how you make his heart dance.
.....
"Rinny-chan good morning!. You shouted from behind as you leap onto his back with all the force in your body.
He stumbles forward a bit,his eye twitches.
''Get off of me damnit".
"No,I want a piggyback ride".
''I'll drop you".
"Fine". You pouted and slide of your ride.
''Anyways Rinny-chan let's get to class before our seats are taking and we can't sit together".
".....''. He purposely walks a bit slower.
"Rinnn I'm serious come on!,You're not hurrying upping at all,and don't be mean like that,You don't wanna sit with me?''. You pouted as you grab his hand and pulled him to run with you to class.
You weren't sure but you could have sworn you saw a smile on his face.
When you made it to class you pulled rin to sit next to you since he tried to escape to another seat.
Class started but you feel a sleep almost immediately.
"....For your project you will be in a pair of two-
"Rinny-chan let's be partners!". You shouted as you shot up from your sleeping position.
"No".'I thought she was sleeping'
"Huh what do you mean no! I wanna be partners ".
"And I don't".
"Why not aren't we friends?!"
"No".
"H-"
You were about to speak but your teacher yells at you for interrupting the class.
.......
The end of the day finally came,All the students were heading home or to hang out with friends.
All but one student who "patiently" and unwillingly waiting for a certain (h/c) classmate.
"Where is she?".
Usually he'd hear your footsteps approaching him quickly and hear your loud voice shout to him as you frantically wave your hand in the air.
At that point he would have turned around and prossed to walk away.
But you'd easily catch up with him. And instenly start babbling to him about your day or anything random.
But none of that is happening,You're still not here.
He walks to your class to see that it was completely empty.
"This is a pain,I'm going home".
He says this but he also has a feeling to figure where you are and why didn't you tell him you were leaving.
He wanted to look up and down the school to find you but there's also another part of himself that holding him back from doing that .
He curses to himself as he side to not go look for you and to just go on home. But he felt guilty doing so.
He exits the school and in the process he passes by the feild.
â [Yall can skip this,it's just reader finishing up a practice match and Rin would be watching, but hate how I wrote it so if you choose, just skip to the pink circle]
He takes a quick glance. And there you where. On the field completely dominating it. Your teammates were moving for you and nothing else. You had the field in your control.
You ramed past the blockers as if they were nothing. And your dribble skills didn't come close to lacking.
You moved with so much force but grace at the same time.
Like a ballerina but with a sword and fighting power.
"A Deadly Ballerina". He mumbles to himself.
He watches some more as you were nearing the goal, two defenders were on your tail.
It looks as if you won't be able to make the shot since it's a 2 v 1 .
But you had skill,it was a small space for a ball to go through. But you were not a amateur.
You first lightly tap the ball upwards.
Then used your jump power .
Rotate upsidedown.
And BAM you kicked the ball with your dominant leg and made the goal.
You landed rough on your head but you were fine.
Your teammates celebrate your goal.
You finally realized that you were being watched, and turned your head towards the male who's looking from the gate .
â
"Hey Rinny-ch-ooff!!". The ball had come flying at your face. He takes this opportunity to escape before you can catch up to him . But he didn't get far when he hears fast footsteps approaching him.
"Don't leave me Rinny-chan!". You shouted as you caught up to him.
"I should have told you I had practice today, were you worried about me~~~".
"Not in a slightest".
"Well that's not very n-".
"You didn't tell me you play soccer" . He interupted.
"I didn't? I guess I left that part out."
"Who's your favorite team?."
"lemme think....Spain FC Barcha definitely!".
Rin's heart flutters, he looks calm on the outside but on the inside hes like a kid who just learned something new. He was so excited to find out you his crush love soccer .
He looks from the corner of his eye to see how excited you look when you guys were discussing the topic .
He honestly couldn't take it,he wants to ask you to be his girlfriend right there and then.
You two were to busy talking that you didn't realize that you missed your stop.
"You talk so much that you forgot to go your way".
"Huh?!, You're right I'm such an idiot, bye Rinny-chan!! ". You shouted as you began to depart from him.
"You're going the wrong way".
"Eh, am I?, ". You asked. "Then uh you mind being a good friend and pointing me what direction I have to go ". You ask as you nervously rub the back of your neck , looking sheepishly as you do so.
Rin stares at you dumbfounded."You need help to find your house?".
You chuckled nervously."It happens more often than you would think".
"You really are a bimbo". He states .
He released what he said and looked at you ready for your response.
"What-what does that mean?".
He takes a breath, he forgot that he's dealing with you. And you weren't that bright so he didn't have to worry.
"Just follow me" . He says as he walk to help you find your house.
"Wait so Bimbo means to ',just follow me? '. Oh ok, I learned something new today, Yay!".
"No you idiot it means someone who's dumb".
"B-but I'm not that dumb!, Well I-I think".
He couldn't bring himself to correct you,To just clueless you actually were .
"Imma take you to your curb and that's it. "
....
"Rinnnn!!!". Your voice echoes through out the halls of the school. Everyone watches as you leap onto the one many of them feared.
"Thank you for walking me all the way home yesterday! ".
"We've talked about this, get off of me you bimbo".
"No".
"Lukewarm bimbo".
"I'm not liking these names" . You snarled and pouted .
" Shitty bimbo then"
"Now you're just being mean". You glared at him.
Other students around the two of you watch in shock at how you were able to be all touchy and friendly with the one most of them fear and some dislike.
Even your closest friends were a bit shook. Honestly they had doubt that you would be friend Rin.
They honestly thought you'd be running to them with tear filled eyes and telling them just how mean and cold Rin really was ,but no that didn't happen.
These whole two weeks you've never complained to them ,not once.
Honestly they're worried about you spending a bit to much time with him.
They called you over to them.
"Y/n,Let's skip first period and hang out".
This caught your attention and you slip off of Rin.
"Yeah sure!". You said as you jog over to them. But paues for a second before turning to Rin.
"Rinny-chan,You'll be all lonely first period are you alright with me leave you ?".
You weren't expecting the look he gave you and the words that left his lips.
"What makes you think you're so important".
Was all he said before walking off.
'I don't need her,she's annoying anyway'.
Rin thought as he enters his class.
'As if I want her around , all she ever does is talk'.
His classmates noticed his different aura ..
Usually he'd be entering the room with you tailing him with your speaker of a voice shouting throughout the class.
He takes his seat and immediately notice how quiet it was.
This IS what he wanted though right?,for you to be gone and for him to finally not have to deal with you anymore.
Now that he has it,it just doesn't feel right .
He's so used to you just being there and now that you're not,it's making everything so damn complicated.
He runs his fingers through his hair.As he remembers what he said.
He honestly doesn't know why he said it .
No,he knows, he's well aware of the reasons behind his pervious out burst . But his pride and stubbornness won't let him believe it.
You on the other hand were just upset. All your hard work to be his friend has gone to waste.
"We told ya, He's a asshole".
"But I'm surprised you made it this far with him".
"Yeah I'm impressed".
"....."
"Don't tell me you thought you could actually get to be his friend".
"...."
Your friends realized that you weren't gonna talk so they decided to leave you be.
"We warned her about him she didn't listen and now look shes moping about him".
Next block came along being that Rin won't be seeing you till later on that day.
But he is in the same class as your friends.
"can't believe she's upset, she's so stupid".
"first time seeing her like this though".
"Yeah, I'm just gonna buy her favorite cupcake tomorrow, that should cheer her up".
"I guess I'll buy her favorite snack "
"What's her favorite cupcake flavor again?".
"I think it's Strawberry''
"No,it's carrot"
"I'm pretty sure it's is plain vanilla".
While your friends struggle to rember your favorite flavor
A certain unique eyelash boy was getting agitated.
''No I'm pretty sure it's Mint''.
He could only listen as they fail and fail again.
He couldn't stand it anymore.
"You idiots, Her favorite cupcake flavor is Birthdaycake".
They all turn to the voice.
"Ri-"
"And she hates the carrot flavor and Is allergic to Strawberry,You guys are her best friends and don't know her favorite flavor".
"You-"
"You guys say she's annoying and all she ever does is talk but you can't even remember her favorite flavor, I know she talks to damn much but I actually listen when she ranted. Have you idiots ever thought of the reason why that airhead goes around befriending just about anyone? ".
There was a silence in the room .
"She just wanted someone who would listen to her when she rants, You guys clearly don't ".
"Rin we-" .
"Shut up, where is she?,You at least know that much don't you? ".
"She's in the cafeteria".One finally stated.
"I'm surprised you knew" . He says as he walks past them . But he stops at the exit before looking over at the ashamed group of students.
"The next time catch you bashing on (Y/n) I make your life a living hell, I don't appreciate it when people bad mouth my girlfriend".
His comment shook the room, they didn't have time to question him since he had already out the exit door and down the hall.
The girl on the other hand sat quietly with her head resting in her arms. Tears had fallen onto the table where she sat.
'Im the only one there, everyone else is in class'.
'Even Rin'. She thought to herself.
Or so she thought, She hears footsteps approaching her and she looks up for a second before realizing who it is and she immediately put her head back down..
He noticed it and was quick to grip the arm pulling her from her fatal position.
"Rin wha-".
"Listen" ,He starts, "From now on you're mine".
"Huh!?".
He pulls the girl into an embrace , totally not trying to hide the blush on his face .
"And this is my apology, you better accept it"
There was a small nod from the girl.
"Good, From now on you're my little Bimbo".
''Rinny".
"Hm?".
"I still don't know what that mean".
"It's better if you don't".

ââim sorry"
A/n:this is one of the charlie fics i was talking about, the next one will most likely will be smut that i will upoload with a community label on it so stay tuned for that.I have some duâmet smut/normal fics coming too  (im sorry i had to do it i couldnt pretend anymore, these men are fine af). Here is the masterlist were i have my other tdim fics. This is a reupload of the story bc i spotted a few mistakes.
warning:angst to comfort,!gender neutral reader
A/n:the documentary is about duâmet and how he got caught.

You and Charlie spend most of your free time watching true crime documentaries,It was like a weekly thing the two of you had, every sunday you would visit eachother houses and watch them.Although everything changed after he went ââfor filmingââ at a location for one of his episodes that will make his series stood out from the others, when he came back you noticed something different on his beahaviour.
He refused to sit down and watch the documentaries with you anymore,he would find poor excuses to cancel the day, telling you that he was busy just so he wouldnt watch them but also gave you these weird hints ââhow terrifying it would be to be in a situation like thatââ and many more.It made you scartch your head of why he would say something so specific like that.
ââthere is this new documentary that just came out about a masked killer in an islandââyou said happily looking at Charlie, only to be greeted with a nervous look.
ââAre you going to leave or are you going to stay and watch it with me?ââyou asked him as you were about to put it on the tv.
ââi will stayââhe signed sitting down next to you,you sense there was something off between the two of you in the air as you pressed play.
Half way through the documentary, you could hear his breathing becoming heavier and heavier as time passed, seeing the familiar face of the killer that tormented him and his crew
ââare you ok char...ââyou questioned him but before you could finish your question,he got up in a haste and run to the bathroom.
ââCharlie whatâs wrongââyou yelled following right behind him, closing the door on your face.
ââCan you please leave me alone for a minuteââhis voice shaky from inside the bathroom.
What happened? and why was he so upset over these types documentaries,he always watched them with you why was he suddenly so hesitant to watch them, realization hit you like a truck, guilt started taking over you,he has experienced something similar when he was away and you forced the poor man to watch a documentary based on the killer that tried to kill him.
ââCharlie iâm sorry i didnt know please come outââyou pleaded  for him to come out of the bathroom so you can apologise properly but you were only meeted with silence from the other side.Sitting down on the floor with your legs close to your chest, you rested your head on your knees as you waited for him patiently.
After what felt like hours of waiting, you hear the door click open, lifting your head from your knees you tuned towards the direction of the sound and there he was standing next to you.
ââIâm really really sorry charlie,i didnt mean to make you unconfortableââyou apologised, looking up at him as tears threatened to leave from your eyes.
He moved to sit down next to you,you were able to see the line of the tears that stained his cheeks.
ââi should have told you from the startââhe exhaledââi just didnt want to make you sad or ruin your passionââhe said wrapping his hand around your shoulder, bringing you closer as you rested your head on his chest.
ââshould we watch something else?any recommendations..?you asked
ââi think we should watch the movie that i have been telling you for monthsââhe replied.you trieed getting up but you were pulled back by charlieâs hand.
ââbut can we stay like this for a bitââ

i decided to give reader new music. still the 'illusion' but the idea in my head is that's the heel song, yk? also there might be a little extra part with the full day in arcadia bay so stay tuned
|remember to leave feedback and i love all you heathens|
~Part I~
'The Very First Night: Part II' Angelo Parker (Jeff) x fem!reader
^secret love song by little mix is the only thing im gonna say^
- Wheeler Yuta (James) - there was nothing you could do to stop me from putting life is strange stuff in this, arcadia bay will be a common thing in my work just deal with me - im also aware of how dynamite and rampage are filmed but for the sake of this, im throwing it out the window - it got long, by accident
3rd Person POV
Sneaking around and dodging questions; that was what the days consisted of since the lipstick incident. When the sun fell and the moon rose, that was when they could see each other. Jeff would go to her hotel room and spend the night, only to be gone in the morning; but not without leaving a sweet note beside her.
Dynamite had come around to Y/N's home of Arcadia Bay, Oregon. It was also the show that everyone would hear from her. In all the years Bryan had known her, he's never seen her this excited. Since they got to the arena, the group saw sign after sign for their hometown hero. "Do you want any of us out there with you?" Claudio asked as she got ready to go to the ring, "No, but just be on standby. I have a feeling Jericho and his goons are upset about last week." She responded as it was time to go.
'For it is just an Illusion' playing before her new theme. She brought back 'Psychedelic Girl' by Twirl for her music, the Bay crowd knowing it well. Coming out of the face tunnel still felt strange to her, dressed in a BCC shirt, denim shorts, and her iconic creepers; giving fans highfives as she made her way to the ring. Once inside, she couldn't help but keep her signature; she took the belt off, held it up, and licked the main plate. "This title belongs to me." she always said. She put the belt back on and grabbed the mic. "Arcadia Bay, Oregon; I'm home!" The roar of her people had a few tears slipping. "It truly is so amazing to be back, standing here All Elite, as a member of the Blackpool Combat Club, as the Ring of Honor Women's World Champion, and as an Arcadian. For the time we're here in the Bay, just call me Y/N. I mean this is my home; why not use my real name at home?" Before she could continue, just as she thought, here came the goons. "Y/N, Y/N, no wonder you decided to join those guys; look where you're from. I mean, you say you bring honor to that title? Licking it like a harlot?" Chris started. They all made their way to the ring and the rest of her own gang came out. Jeff couldn't lie; he did flinch a little when Chris called her that; but he knew he had to play along. She'll understand. The ring was full and ready for a fight. "Chris, I wouldn't trash talk these people, we in AB love a good fight. And you wanna talk about honor? Let's talk about all the stunts you pulled when you had the title. I see you're still sore after the loss." "Oh no, we have an offer for you. See, the Jericho Appreciation Society's own Anna Jay A.S. has her eye on that title, so how about it?" Y/N scoffed and looked at Anna and Chris, "Oh? She wants the title? My womenâs title? Because right now, it sounds like a little girl needing daddy to do the talking for her. But, who am I to turn down a quick win? I know Anna over there has a match tonight. If she wins with all your lackeys banned from ringside, see you at Rampage. If she doesn't," Y/N got closer to Anna, "Better luck next time, princess." Anna slapped Y/N but she bounced back to the other woman's surprise, "Jokes on you, I'm into that. I look forward to your match Anna." Just to mess with him, she shot a wink to Jeff, making him flush. "Now, get out of my ring." "I started my journey here all those years ago, and so many of you here tonight have stuck with me since. Thank you." That was all Jeff was able to hear while watching on the backstage screens over the nasty comments about Y/N.
And so it was, Y/N sat on commentary during Anna's match. Back and fourth banter with the men at the desk, "Y/N I have to ask, who did that wink go to?" "Oh Taz, who am I to give up secrets? They may not want to admit it, but I know those JASholes very well. I know some of them better than others." She said casually. "And the slap? That was quite an interesting response." Y/N smirked, "I like to mess with my opponents. Those who know, know." Anna had won with the Queen Slayer and the match was over, "Well gentlemen, I came back to the Bay as the champ, and I will leave as the champ. Goodnight."
The next morning, Jeff and Y/N met for breakfast at the diner she always went to growing up. Her friend's stepdad was nice enough to let her borrow the pickup for the time they were there. Two Whales she looked up at the sign and walked in, "Y/N!" Joyce, her childhood best friend's mom greeted as she walked around the counter to hug her. "Hey Joyce!" "It's so amazing to see you honey. Look at you all grown up." The diner held many memories for Y/N, "I've missed this place, Joy. That jukebox still messed up?" she laughed. "Ritchie just won't listen that it needs to be fixed; or thrown out at this point. Oh, Max and Chloe send their love. We wish we could be at your shows but they couldn't make it from Washington. I had it on the TV last night, all the bikers couldn't believe it was you." Joyce had briefly filled Y/N in about her high school best friends when she remembered, "I shouldn't be taking your time; there's a handsome young man waiting for you. What's this one's name?" Y/N turned her head to the booths to see Jeff sitting there with a grin on his face, having watched the entire encounter. "Jeff. We work together, kinda." "When he said he was waiting for you, I had to put him in your booth." The booth in question was the one she and her friends always sat in; littered with graffiti and carvings.
She made her way over and sat down, "Sorry. Joyce is just the type you can get lost in a conversation with. She was always like a mother to me." "Don't be sorry. I know how much this place means to you. I can tell you always loved wrestling by this;" he pointed to the carving clearly done by her hands 'Principal Wells can SUCK IT' "Yeah, Chloe and I had gotten suspended after a little brawl with some of the mean girls. I was always a DX kid." she reminisced as her finger traced the memory on the table. Jeff gently took her hand in his and they shared a look. It can't be, yet.
"Alright lovebirds, what do you want to eat?" Joyce asked. "I've been dying for your famous pancakes since the plane landed." The older woman looked over, "What about you, baby?" "I remember hearing about how good the french toast is here." Joyce wrote it down and left the two. "I can't believe you remember that." "I remember a lot, Dollface." The name made her blush, having not heard it in so long. "I remember that you, Chloe, and Max have matching tattoos; the one on the inside of your bicep. Let me see it again?" Y/N pulled her jacket off to show the smiling omelette, french toast, and pancake with the three girls' initials.
Some time had passed and Joyce came back, "Here you go, eat up kids." Y/N had to take a picture for her friends, "Smile." she told him. Jeff had a goofy smile and two peace signs up and then she took a picture of just the food. "You were right, this is amazing." He told her. "Joyce is a great cook. I miss sleepovers at the Price house and waking up to the smell of home-cooked breakfast and the sound of cartoons." They continued eating until, "Hey, how did you get here, by the way?" He looked up at her "Taxi? Why?" She laughed a little in shock. "I should have told you; public transportation here isn't the best. I'm driving for the rest of the day." "Oh come on, what kind of man would I be if I couldn't drive you around?" She smiled at the sentiment, he was always a perfect gentleman. "Unless you can drive an old pickup truck and navigate the Bay, I'm driving. We're in my hometown, I wanna show you around. You can plan the next." He felt all warm at the sound of 'the next'.
Y/N led him to the counter but Joyce stopped them both from paying, "On the house. Hometown hero special." She tried to push back but Joyce stopped her, "No baby, keep that belt and keep representing this place. I'm proud of you." "Thanks Joyce. I'll probably be back before I leave. I just wanna see oonee thing." She spoke as she hugged the woman in front of her. Y/N just had to check out the jukebox; was it still there? Jeff leaned on the counter and watch Y/N mess with the machine when Joyce started talking to him, "Now I've not kept up with wrestling since the girls were teens but weren't you with the people against her last night?" He looked down, "Yeah. The people I'm with and the people she's with kinda, hate each other. I wish none of us interacted so her and I didn't have to sneak around." "Sneak around? Oh honey, the way you two look at each other? She was also so focused on making it in the industry that she never really dated, but the way she looks at you and how she told me your name; that girl loves you." Joyce saw the blush in his cheeks. "I hope she does, because I lo-" "Oh ho yes! It's still there!" Y/N exclaimed "Jeff, come here." He stood behind her and looked over her shoulder, "I guess the music in this thing hasn't changed because it still has 'To All of You'. Kinda makes me think of you these days." "That's sweet." They left the diner and he was genuinely shocked at the truck in front of him; a mustard-yellow, busted and rusty pickup truck with the most beautiful woman standing by the hood. "Our chariot awaits."
Rampage
"Ready to retain?" James asked as the two of them waited by the tunnel. She asked him to accompany her because they were the closest. "More than." "I have to ask: who were you with yesterday? At that diner?" Referring to the pictures on social media she posted. You could tell that she was with a guy, but who it was was a mystery. "Just a friend from high school. We were partners in, chemistry class." Good lie. She thought, because he bought it. "Let's go!" Anna was in the ring and she brought Jeff with her. Great. Y/N and James walked out of the tunnel to nothing but cheers and love. They got in the ring together and she showed her own love for the crowd. She leaned against the ringpost with James on the apron. Even sending a little kiss to Jeff as, what looked like, a taunt. "And from Arcadia Bay, Oregon, she is the Ring of Honor Women's World Champion, Y/R/N" She took the belt off as she stood in the middle of the ring, licking the title before handing it off to Bryce. He signaled for the bell and it was off to the races. "C'mon princess, show me what you got!" She yelled at Anna.
At some point, Y/N had taken a nasty hit that hurt her arm; but there was no stopping her from keeping this title around her waist. Anna must have learned her lesson because she somehow kicked out of the Hypnosis pumpkick. She thought Y/N was down and decided to gloat but the 'Illusion' had another trick up her sleeve. She got up without her noticing and put Anna in the Deep Sleep chokehold; it only took about ten seconds for her to go night-night. "Here is your winner and still the Ring of Honor Women's World Champion, Y/R/N" Bryce held her arm up but flinched at the pain a bit. Jeff had gotten in the ring at some point because when she turned around, he was there. 'What are you doing?!' she mouthed. Think fast. "You want some of this, Loverboy?" she got in his face and it took everything in the both of them not to say fuck it and kiss. He went to touch her hurt arm but James pulled her away. As they walked up the ramp, she tried to look pissed off but she just couldn't; but James saw how they both looked at each other.
What the fuck is going on with her? he thought about his best friend.

a/n: i have been so excited to write a part two to this imagine the second i got the request. there will also be a part three coming soon so if you like these stay tuned! these have to be my favorite ones i've ever written.
It was the day after your marriage truly started. Although you and your husband, Draco Malfoy, had been married for weeks, the marriage truly began yesterday.
It had been a whirlwind.
It all began with you fucking your ex boyfriend, something you did in a desperate attempt to receive physical contact and get out of the house you had thought to be a prison.
When your husband came home, you decided it would be a brilliant idea to tell him. It was an arranged marriage, one that he did not seem enthusiastic to be a part of, so you figured there would be no hard feelings.
You were incredibly, incredibly wrong.
He had a lot of feelings about your adultery, but not only was there the anger and jealousy you were expecting, there was sadness. That had taken you by surprise, and only after poking the dragon, you finally consummated your marriage with your husband. Right there on the couch of the entrance hall.
After he had fucked you silly, you both reached the agreement that you would actually try to work as a real marriage. You had both made mistakes, and you were both ready and excited to move past those and really try to build a relationship out of what you had both thought was doomed from the start.
Which was why you were in front of his study, a hand raised and ready to knock, the following evening. He had been in there most of the day, working on a project for what you had learned to be connected to the Malfoyâs family business, but you were ready to put an end to his work day in the best way you knew how.
Your hand had barely connected with the wood when you heard a curt âCome in,â from the other side of the door.
You opened the door slowly and walked in, taking in the sight before you. There were papers scattered all over the desk, inkwells and quills mixed into the mess. Either you caught him at a bad time, or he wasnât as tidy as you had assumed.
But it wasnât the desk that caught your eye. It was him.
His button down shirt was rolled up the elbows at the cuffs. His hands, already littered with rings, were smudged with ink and deftly writing something down on a piece of parchment. There wasnât a single hair out of place on his head, but what struck you were his glasses. You didnât even know he wore glasses. But he looked damn good in them, because of course he fucking did.
âYes?â He asked, a smug smile on his face as he watched you openly check him out. You hadnât even realized he had looked up from the parchment he had been writing on.
âJust figured you could use a break, dinnerâs ready,â you explained, quickly catching yourself.
âIâll be out in a bit. I just need to finish this bit up,â he replied, an obvious dismissal but you had had enough of that over the past two weeks to last a lifetime.
âDraco, youâve obviously been at this for a while. Just come take a break,â you argued defiantly, happy with the knowledge you finally felt comfortable enough to do so.
âY/N, Iâm busy,â he said gently, clearly not wanting to break the carefully made balance you had just created with a silly argument, but you couldnât help yourself.
You admitted it to yourself when you walked in the room. You didnât really want him to take a break just to have dinner with you. No. You wanted him to take a break so he would fuck you right over his desk.
âYou can finish it later,â you continued, your arms crossed over your chest as you waited for his eventual push back.
But his argument never came.
Slowly, painfully slow, he began to stack up his papers in neat piles to put them away. Next were the inkwells being covered and finally the quills being put away. All without a word between you both.
When his desk was cleared, he finally turned his attention back to you.
âYou come into my study and argue with me over taking a break just to go eat dinner. You havenât bothered to ask me to dinner once over the past few weeks. So is it really dinner thatâs got you so riled up, or is it something else?â He asked straight faced, but the twinkle in his eye led you to believe he knew exactly why you were arguing.
âCanât a wife just want to spend time with her husband?â You argued, but it didnât hold the impact you wanted the words to have.
âYeah, thatâs what I thought,â he said, pushing his chair back just slightly. âCome here,â he commanded, crooking his fingers in your direction.
With just two silly little words your skin was flushed and your nerves were on fire. You werenât sure what type of hold this man had over you, but it ran deep for only having just fucked him the day before for the first time.
You followed his command without a second thought, and it led you to standing right between his spread legs with your back pressed up against his now pristine desk.
âCorrect me if Iâm wrong, but I think my wife just wants to get fucked. Am I correct?â He asked, raking his eyes over your body greedily, taking in every inch of you. You were just lucky you dressed to impress tonight in a perfect, form-fitting black cocktail dress. It didnât leave much to the imagination.
âYes,â you answered easily, completely giving up the fight now that you could see the hunger that you felt reflected in his eyes.
He gave you a slow smile before dragging you down to straddle his lap, perfectly placing you so you could feel his growing erection against your core as he kissed you roughly. It was perfect after a day of craving him so fiercely, and you knew this was only the appetizer.
His hands possessively roamed your body as he continued to dominate your kiss, finally landing on your ass to pull you closer against him. Your hands made quick work of taking his glasses off and gently placing them on the desk somewhere behind you before trailing through his hair, messing up his perfectly placed platinum locks.
You couldnât stop yourself from grinding down on him, moans spilling from both of your lips at the friction. He let you do as you please for a few minutes, just enjoying kissing you and having you in his lap, but once your hands went to undo the buttons on his shirt, he gripped your hips roughly and pushed you back.
âLetâs get one thing straight, pretty girl. Iâm in charge, and youâll be a good girl and do as I say, wonât you?â He asked, running a thumb along your lower lip as he spoke.
You bit his finger gently before answering, and your answer only riled him up more than the bite did.
âYes, Daddy.â
And just like that he unleashed himself on you, much like he had done the day before.
He had you on your feet and spun around faster than you could even blink. Within the next breath, your dress was being stripped off of your body and thrown across the room, your breasts exposed. When he had you bent over the desk with just a thong on, he finally opened his mouth again.
âYouâre gonna be a good girl for Daddy, arenât you, pretty girl?â He asked, dragging his hands up the back of your thighs until he was grabbing your ass again.
âYes,â you gasped out, knowing you were already drenched from his words and touch alone.
When you felt his palm connect with your raised ass, you couldnât hold back the whimper that fell from your lips.
âYes, what?â He asked, rubbing his hands in circles to soothe the ache, but the contrast of his warm skin and cold rings only left you shaking.
âYes, Daddy,â you answered, saying the words again.
They were meant to be a joke at first. Just another jest to rile him up and poke at him. But now, after having called him Daddy twice, it was starting to feel right. Like this was exactly the dynamic you were meant to be in with him.
âSo much better. Look at you, already dripping down your thighs,â he mused, his finger trailing up your thigh in what you could only assume was a patch of wetness, a blush falling over your face at the thought.
He dragged your thong down your legs and slowly freed your feet before tossing the scrap of fabric across the room as well, leaving you totally exposed.
âIs this what you wanted? To be bent over Daddyâs desk just begging to be fucked?â He asked, his weight pinning you down as he bent over, slowly dragging his lips up the side of your neck as he spoke. You could feel how hard he was against your ass and you fought now to roll your hips into him, but you knew he would put an end to it anyway.
âPlease fuck me,â you begged quietly, your words no more than a whisper as you played right into the fantasy he was spinning for the both of you.
âPatience, darling,â he said accompanied by a dark chuckle, but he didnât leave you wanting.
He kept his weight on you, his lips leaving open mouth kisses on your neck that were sure to leave bruises for the coming days, but he dragged a finger up your slit and plunged inside of you.
You were so on edge that the one finger almost made you cum right then, but of course he was careful to make sure that didnât happen. He teased you along until one finger turned into two, and by then you were a writhing mess on his desk.
âDaddy, please. Iâm ready. Just fuck me,â you begged impatiently, all of your focus on him and his miraculous fingers.
Silently, he pulled back to stand up fully behind you. For a moment, you thought youâd be getting what you wanted, but you should have known it was too good to be true. You werenât getting fucked until he thought you were ready.
You felt his thumbs pull your lips apart, and you knew all of his focus was right on you, right on where you were a dripping mess for him and that had you fighting not to squirm under his gaze.
âI told you to be patient, pretty girl. Or are you just that desperate to cum you couldnât help yourself? Because this pretty little hole isnât ready for me yet,â he mused, and his words forced an unexpected moan out of you.
You were exposed and aching, a true flushed mess in front of him, while he was a master of poise and control, still fully clothed behind you. Something about the situation made your head spin and your knees weak, and you knew you were in for a wild ride with this man. But you were willing to take anything and everything he threw your way because there was no denying you were enjoying every second of this. Not when he was holding you open obscenely and could see the evidence for himself.
âI want to cum,â you answered honestly, your breasts grinding on the desk and you arched your back, further exposing yourself in the hopes that he would fulfill your wishes.
While still holding you open, he used one gentle finger to stroke over your clit and it was just enough pressure to cause a shiver to run down your spine. If he kept it up, you knew youâd cum in seconds. âGo ahead, cum for me. Let me watch you make a mess of yourself,â he commanded, keeping the gentle pressure on your clit.
You came with a scream, your legs shaking beneath you. The desk was the only reason you stayed up, otherwise you would have collapsed from the force of your orgasm right there. It felt like one of the most intense orgasms of your life, all just from a little flick of his finger.
As you came down, you were gasping for air, just as desperate for your next breath as you were for Dracoâs cock. No matter how mind shattering your orgasm had been, you were still craving more. Youâd always crave more from him.
âThat was beautiful, darling - watching you clench around nothing as you screamed for me. I think youâre ready for my cock now,â he mused, slowly stroking his hands up and down your back in an effort to calm your body, but every nerve was on fire from his touch.
âPlease, please, fuck me Draco. I need you,â you were begging shamelessly now, not even worried about making a fool of yourself in this new marriage. You were both too invested in this moment to care, both of you just knew you needed each other.
âShh, you have me, pretty girl. Iâm right here,â he soothed, placing gentle kisses on your shoulders as he worked to free his cock behind you. âStay just like that.â
You didnât even know he had succeeded in taking his cock out until you felt his tip against your entrance, and he didnât wait a second longer. He plunged into you like he was just as desperate as you were, which by the way he was fucking you in brutal strokes, you could tell he was.
Your hands clutched the edge of the desk for dear life, your knuckles a bright white against the dark oak wood. With every thrust, your hips collided with the sharp edge, sure to leave some marks for you to admire the next day.
You could feel the power behind each deep, hard stroke and you knew he was giving you his all. The previous night had been kind and sweet compared to the brutal fucking he was giving you now. You felt fucked within an inch of your life and he had barely even started.
âFuck, Y/N. You take me so fucking well. So perfect,â he praised, not even sounding out of breath. Meanwhile, you couldnât even control the noises that were coming from your mouth.
You climbed up the peak steadily, but even in your cock drunk daze you knew this orgasm would wipe you out. Once you were about to reach the edge, he pulled out.
âNo, please, fuck. I was so close,â you whined, but a startled gasp came out of your mouth next when he lifted you up and spun you around, your back crashing back down on the desk with a gentle thud.
You finally got the chance to look at him, then. His cock was hard and aching, on the verge of falling over the edge himself. His hair was disheveled and he had that glow that only sex could bring coming from his perfect skin, but when you locked eyes you couldnât look away. His silver eyes were clouded with lust and possession, a man closing in for the kill on his prey. It was terrifying and arousing all at once, but you were sure your own eyes reflected something similar.
Draco wasted no time in hoisting your legs over his shoulders and coming down to take your lips in a brutal kiss just before fucking back into you, his pace the same as it had been in the previous position. He swallowed your moans greedily, but finally pulled back to just concentrate on your face.
âI needed to look at you when you came on my cock. Show me how pretty you look when you fall apart for me,â he ordered, but his voice was gentle and there was a smile fighting to tug on his face. It didnât hold the same dominance his previous commands did, but you followed it all the same.
One, two, three thrusts later you came with his name on your lips as he fucked you through it. It was like your whole world blacked out and only the two of you existed, suspended in this moment as he stared down at your blissed out face. He followed you shortly, and the feel of him emptying himself inside of you accompanied by the litany of choked out praises he was giving you was almost enough to push you into a third orgasm.
You both stayed like that as the minutes passed, chest to chest and near face to face as you caught your breath. It was no easy feat after an orgasm like that, but finally he was wrapping you in his arms and balancing you in his lap as he got comfortable in his desk chair once again.
âWas that too much?â He asked, the concern dripping from his voice as he tenderly brushed your hair from your face.
You could have laughed at his concern. That was the best sex you had ever had in your life, and he was asking if it was too much. But you didnât want to worry him.
âDraco, that was perfect. I loved every second of it,â you told him honestly, tilting your head up so you could look him in the eye so he would have no room for doubt.
It was him who laughed then, in sheer disbelief of the woman curled up in his lap. âI got too lucky with you. Youâre perfect,â he said with a smile, a small kiss to your forehead following his words.
âI think Iâm the lucky one,â you insisted, curling further into his chest as the events of the evening finally wore on your body. It was comfortably silent for a few minutes as he held you, until you remembered why you had truly come into his study in the first place. âBut I was serious when I came in. Dinnerâs ready,â you reminded him with a slight giggle.
âHow about I get you up to bed and we eat dinner in bed, hm?â He asked, already lifting you up and carrying you towards the door.
âSounds perfect,â you said, relaxing against his strong chest as he continued to prove just how lucky you were to end up in this arranged marriage.
