You walked home. Thinking about all that was said to you today. You had high hopes of getting the job but now you didn’t know where to go. Crashing onto your bed you cried onto your pillow. Your mother was out shopping with a group of her rich friends and your father was helping the Mayor out with the 4th of July fair. They didn’t care how you felt that day. When someone hurt you. They only cared about themselves.

Your phone rang and it was Nancy. You sniffled your tears, wiping your face, “hello Nance. Whats up?”

“Hey y/n oh my god you’re not going to believe it! I got a lead on the rats! Me and Jonathan went to go check it out at Mrs. Driscoll. She showed us her basement and all the fertilizer bags had holes in them from the rats. She said that maybe they had rabies and wanted us to notify the public but y/n when I got a good look at these rats it was not like the norm.”

“What do you mean?” You sat up.

“What I mean is that these rats were like having a convulsion. They were acting really strange. Like crazy, I’m gonna investigate more tomorrow and then maybe just maybe the guys at my work will actually take me seriously.”

“You show them! But be careful okay, I don’t want you or Jonathan to loose your jobs. Pursue this story your way.”

“Thanks. Hey what about you? How did things go for your lifeguard summer adventure? And what about Billy? Oh my god did he see you that? He probably had such a big boner-”

“Nancy!” You started to cry again. “I didn’t get the job.”

“What the h*ll do you mean? Do I have to smack a b*tch?”

You chuckled lightly, “no its nothing like that or what I mean is theres nothing you can do. I went in and they pranked me and called me names and pretty much made fun of me saying that I couldn’t work there because I was rich and fat.”

“So? Who the h*ll cares? Jesus, I hate people.”

“Me too, but never you.” You sighed.

“You know what you do?”

“What Nancy? I tried everything-”

“You try again! Go tomorrow and wear their attire their red swimsuits and show them that you are not playing around. Make them see that you are the woman for the job. You are an amazing person y/n, show them and show Billy.”

You wiped your tears away and got the boost you needed. “You’re right Nance, thanks. I’m gonna keep trying until I have done all that I can.”

“Yeah and if not there is a new mall that you could work at and really anywhere. People would be lucky to have you.”

“Thanks Nancy. You always know how to make me feel better.” You hanged up the phone and got a good nights rest for the next day where you would try your hardest to achieve something you so badly wanted.

This is a concept and idea ive had in mind for sometime now. Wanted to do this and see how it would turn out, hope you enjoy it :)

Logan chanted on him mind as he played the violin piece infront of him. So lost in the music, the feeling of the strings under his finger tips. It was a slow piece he was playin, obviously classical although he sometimes didn't like classical that much. But his mom made him play classical music from Paganini to Mozart to Chopin and so much more.He smiles as he played the last note of the paper. He had to practice more if he really wanted to be a good musician. A yes being in an orchestra, in the violin section, now that-.His thought were interrupted by one of his roommates, Patton. That bubbly saxophonist didn't even play classical, he just played whatever they gave him but most likely jazz, which in a way made his curious of that music style."Hey Logan what you up to""Just practicing some classical pieces, the usual".

"Boring, come on you know theres more to play, how about un poco de salsa o plena" said his other roommate called Roman. He was hispanic which you dont see around these areas sometimes. Hes pretty dramatic, is in a drama club and also plays the trumpet. They match, they are both pretty loud and both together pretty amazing.

Logan titled his head in confusion. "What is all that, some classical music I've never heard of" Logan said still confused

Patton and Roman eyes widen, "wait you dont know what those genre is" Roman said with a surprise voice. Logan shrugged and said no.

"Well you only know classical, how about we show you the rest" Patton said.

"I can't I need to practice, i dont have time for silly games"

"But you have time for word association game don't you" Patton said.

"Dont you dare mess with my favorite game"

Roman meanwhile had an idea. "Say Logan how about we take you to the music room and there we can show you what do yo-"" Roman i told you i dont have tim-""But you can practice there too" Logan stopped and thought about it. He did want to learn more about music and he had to admit that it was getting kinda boring just playing classical so..

"Alright ill go, just lets do this quick" Logan said grabbing the violin suitcase and following to Patton and Roman who was talking to someone via phone call.

As they opened the music room, Logan saw some big and small cases, some drums and percussion around and a piano. He had been here but only for a short amount of time.

"Roman took you long enough to get here" and there appeared Logan third roommate, Virgil. Virgil was pretty dark and had his ways but also very dedicated to his instruments. He played guitar, drums and some wind instruments.

"Virge, its an emergency! Specs here doesn't know any other genre other than classical, and we are here to show him some songs" Roman said taking his trumpet out.

"Well i have some suggestion, may i go first" Patton said with his alto saxophone in his hands. Roman and Virgil nod and sit down on some chairs.

"Okay Logan im gonna play a song, if you want you can join or any of you can join" and there he started, going slowly and having a bit of a sway to it. Play every dinamic and note making it sound beautiful. Logan got his violin out and listen closely to Patton and he started playing with him

"Oh i love this song,

Patton and Logan playing together with Roman singing and Virgil adding a bit of percussion. They were magnificent, Logan couldn't believe what he heard, he actually enjoyed playing it.

"In other words, please be true

I love you"

"I must say that was... good, pretty average" Logan said "and Pat i didn't know you played Jazz so good"

"Well yea, Jazz music is one of the biggest reasons I play the saxophone, it my favorite genre" he said smiling at Logan.

"I see that what Jazz music sounds like, I like it"

"Oh and we are just starting, te tocare una bolero, it one of my favorite, Virgil.."

Strumming, slow and gentle playing just before the trumpet started playing play. A slow melody not to loud or low just perfect. He swayed with the rhythm of the song.

"Besame,

besame mucho

Como si fuera esta noche

la ultima vez,"

Romans voice, so soft and slow made Logan start swaying at the rhythm of the music.

"Wanna dance" Patton extended his hand which Logan accepted.

Swaying together with the trumpet and guitar in the background. He was starting to enjoy more and more all that he was doing.

"Besame, besame mucho

Que tengo miedo a perderte

Perderte después"

"So what ya think, still prefer common classical" Patton said still dancing with him.

"I mean classical is what i live for, but this is something new in a way, but I won't let classical go that fast" he said smiling and giving Patton a spin. Patton giggled and continued dancing.

And as they stopped dancing, Roman played the last note that concluded the song.

"I am very impressed Roman"Logan said. "Well it nothin-"" I cant believe you dont always play forte, I mean i am impressed" Logan said smiling at a annoyed Roman.

"Okay okay my turn, im gonna play more of a latin pop as you could say song" Virgil said connecting his guitar.

Latin pop? Logan though, now that was something he had barely heard of. And it was starting with a rapid pace, moving his fingers so quickly and yet made an astonish rhythm.

"Para bailar La Bamba

Virgil and Patton sang in unison.

Such genre, was so different and made you body just fill with adrenalin, an amazing feeling he had never felt before.

"I see someone is enjoy""well actually yes, this is turning out better than i expected, Roman i wasnt sure what type of music i was gonna hear today, i wasnt even that exited" Logan said looking at Roman.

"Well, I can't blame ya, i used to only play the same stuff over and over again, it was nice i guess but I didnt feel like i enjoyed it as much. When u found out about this genre, sin mentirte me encanto, i love it and decide from now on to keep discovering new music" Roman said.

"Remember Lo, don't stay in the same place forever, embrace yourself, open youre wing and find new thing that are awaiting you" Virgil said. Logan never notice when they stopped playin but he still had the rhythm of the song in repeat.

"But I don't have wings. I dont know where to start" Logan said.

"Hey Logie, remember one step at a time and everything will be okay. Plus will be here with you if you need us" Patton said smiling and hugging him.

"Say i do have one last song called Conga, would be pretty cool to play" Roman said looking at Virgil and Patton.

For Logan it seemed like they had talk telepathically because they all just grabbed their instrument and some papers.

"A one, two and one two.."

"PA DA DAM" was the first thing Logan heard coming from his rommates. Blasting like rhythm that was sure to make you move and dance. He wondered what this genre was called. He wanted to join the rhythm so bad but didnt known it on vio-

And thats when he saw it, the piano and there he had an idea. It was worth trying but he wanted to. He sat down in the piano and listen to the rhythm and notes they were playing. Breath in and breath out...

He began playing matching the speed and the song. His finger going fast, feeling the keys under his finger trying not to play them that hard.

"Well ill say.." Patton said looking in awe at Logan as he played.

"Well why stop, come on" Logan said as he kept playing, hearing Roman, Patton and Virgil join.

Logan was enjoy the moment, he never thought he would enjoy doing this and not actually practicing. He loved it actually, the rhythm, the velocity and everything from every song. Logan smiled as he looked at his roommate, who finally open his eyes to new music.

And Logan finally understood what the others meant.

"So Logan we were talking and we wanted to ask, would you like to koin are little band as we call it" Virgil said.

"Why not, I'd love too" Logan said being attacked by hugs from his .. friends, being attacked by his new friends.

speaking of things lukas probably wont ever tell u but i’m including them anyway: his family is kind of messy. not majorly but like a little bit more than average. he had two brothers, now he only has one. i’m not gonna include a whole lot of nitty gritty here i’ll save it for when i write the real bio and can actually do it justice but its the reason they moved from florida and it has had a pretty major effect on lukas over time obviously

he’s the baby of the family and he’s pretty much always been treated like one. it has left him pretty immature and irresponsible. still learning that his actions have consequences and that he cant just be a total dick all the time. he’s improved in those areas a fair bit since he started at columbia a year ago but he still has a long way to go

he didn’t ever really expect to go to columbia, he’s from a middle class family and his dad didn’t even go to college. he applied for columbia just as a might as well give it a go thing. like maybe it will happen. they had a film course and although the course itself isn’t really great, the connections to the industry available at columbia were valuable enough for him to try. he was wait listed up until basically the last minute, preparing to go to a college in boston instead but when he was accepted he knew he had to go. for himself, for his family, and for his lost brother.

obviously irresponsible attitude has led to some Bad Decision Making including but not limited to partying and drugs. he doesn’t prioritise that lifestyle over his school work (bc he knows how lucky he is to be at columbia at all) but he is a big believer that you need to experience things to be a great artist and he plans on being the greatest artist so bad decision town here we come !!!!

A/N: 2973 words. Listen, I massaged the timeline a little bit, just suspend your disbelief, perhaps it only takes 4 months to be in post production. Also yes I know X-Men didn’t actually film in Egypt, but I didn’t know that at the start of this fic and now I’m sticking with my mistakes because momma didn’t raise a quitter but she did raise a fool.

“You’re not proposing to me in a sheer shirt.” The moment the makeup team leaves, you turn on Ben, amusement tugging at your lips as you cross your arms, cocking your hip.

“You don’t like it?” He asked, the picture of innocence as he fiddles with the cuff of his jacket. You raise a singular eyebrow. “I think you do like it.” He hummed, a mischievous sparkle in his eye. When you refuse to break eye contact, your silence is answer enough. “I think you like it a lot.”

It’s been almost a four months since shooting officially wrapped, two since you’d filmed the last of the pick up shots they’d needed, and a full month since you and Ben seen each other in person; you’d been busy with a Netflix series, and Ben had been in talks about a new project, and you’d been messaging every day but seeing each other in person is... well there’s something different. Playful. Easy. Somehow neither of you seem worried about the looming proposal, and are just making up for lost time.

“Love, you’ve gotta take it up with the stylist, not me.” He shrugged, as if helpless, and turned, making his way to the door, knowing without even looking that you’ll be following behind him. He’s chipper, brimming with excitement and looking damn good, and once he gets to the elevator and pushes the button, he offers you his arm while he waits.

“Marry me.” He says it suddenly, watching the numbers of the elevator tick up to your floor. There’s no-one around, and the ring is still in his pocket.

“What?” With a frown, you step into the elevator, and press the button for the lobby, still tucked up against him.

“What if we just show up engaged?” He asks, hand in his pocket where he’s fiddling with the ring box. He’s not nervous, just contemplative.

“And deprive Swarovski of their moment?” You scoffed, and he tipped his head to look at you, eyebrows raised in exasperated amusement.

“I know you hate the ring, ‘too gaudy, too ostentatious by half’, isn’t that what you said?” He snickers after doing as half decent imitation of you. Giving him a shove, you duck your head to hide your embarrassed smile.

“It’s so ‘look at me! Look at me!’” You huff, and he can’t help but laugh at that. The sound of it, in person rather than over Skype, made you feel, for lack of a better phrase, like you were home. Not that there really was a better phrase, you just didn’t want to think about or admit how much you’d missed him.

“Sorry to say, dude, but there’s nothing more ‘look at me! Look at me!’ than a red carpet proposal.” And yeah, okay, maybe he had a point, but that was one night, you had to wear that ring until... they hadn’t told you the DVD release date, but you’re pretty sure it was some time in the New Year. When you bring this up, he just rolls his eyes. “You’re not the one getting down on one knee for a fake proposal; I’m gonna look like an idiot when this is all over.”

“Well fine, if you’re so worried, I’ll propose.” Instead of dwelling on his words, you step away, holding your hand out expectantly. When he just stares at you, bewildered, you motion for him to hand the ring box over, and he finally cracks a grin, shaking his head.

“If you think I’m gonna be caught dead in that ring you’re wrong.” He spluttered, and you can’t help but laugh at that.

“Fine, I won’t take your first proposal away from you.” You hum with a smile, tucking yourself back against him. He goes very quiet. It takes you a few moments, but you look up at him, brow furrowed. He seems lost in his own thoughts. “It- Ben you’ve never been engaged before, I feel like I’d know if you had been.” Your words snap him out of his trance and he looks at you with wide, bright eyes, and an unconvincing smile.

“Yeah, no, I would have told you by now otherwise.” The silence that falls around you in not a comfortable one, and you’re glad when the elevator comes to a stop. “I got close once, though.” He admits, quietly. You don’t know how to respond to that; you hadn’t considered how much those words would hurt. You want to ask with who, but you already felt an unreasonable rush of jealousy at the thought of someone else stealing his heart enough for him to want to be with them forever. Unreasonable jealousy.

Filming for X-Men started a week ago and he’s only called you once; he’s on a film lot somewhere in Canada and his hair is curly and god he looks cute but the apartment feels so empty. He’s bright eyed and excited. He’s rambling about how busy he is, and he’s still wearing his makeup. The call lasts five minutes; the cast are going out for dinner. You tell him to have fun, but you’re heart’s not in it; he can sense it, and promises to call you tomorrow, before he hangs up.

He doesn’t call, part of you isn’t surprised.

“Marry me.” He asks again, voice low in your ear. The others in the car can’t hear him, but part of you is afraid they might. They don’t technically know it’s not a real relationship, though part of you thinks Gwilym has his doubts, not that he’d ever voice them.

“Not the time.” You shoot him a warning look, and he just slings an arm around you, leaning back in his seat.

“You’ll regret not letting me be low-key about it.” He warns in return, giving you a blithe smile, and you narrow your eyes at him.

“Low-key about what?” Lucy asks, and you elbow Ben in the ribs. He keeps smiling, though his mischievousness slides to something more fond as he actually looks at you.

“About anything.” You say by way of explanation, and though she, along with the rest of the car, still look confused, they don’t push it. There’s reporters everywhere when you get out of the car, and you and Ben are the last ones out.

“Last chance before this becomes a spectacle.” He murmurs when he steps out after you, straightening the back of your dress just a little, and he sounds amused, but there’s something genuine in his voice, and you take a moment to pause, turning back to him. His hands land on your hips, his touch light, and his expression is so familiar it hurts, and you realise he is a little nervous; it’s a very public setting for what should be a very private matter. With cameras going off all around you, you pull him in for a kiss, and he relaxes somewhat, kissing you back with his grip tightening on your hips.

“We’re being paid to be a spectacle.” You remind him, and he nods, smiling softly, and the two of you make your way down the red purple carpet together. You have to stop every few feet to do interviews, and soon enough you had pulled ahead of Ben; he had a much larger part in the film that you did, it wasn’t surprising the reporters wanted to monopolise him. It still felt strange, to turn and not have him there. Sometimes you’d do interviews with the other boys, sometimes he’ll be there, and as the main photo area loomed, you could finally feel the butterflies in your stomach.

Soon.

Perhaps too soon.

“What do you mean you’re going to Egypt?” You snapped, wishing your internet connection was better so he could see you glaring clearly.

“I told you about it ages ago.” Ben sighs, clearly tired. It’s there in his eyes, how drained he is, how hard he’s been working, and your expression softens.

“That’s exciting,” you force yourself to take a breath, it was the first time you two had spoken that fortnight, neither of you needed this to be hostile. The days had started feeling so long when you don’t hear from him; all you want is a damn hug and he’s on the other side of the world. “What if I come visit you?”

“In Egypt?” He asks, eyebrows raised.

“In Egypt.” You confirm, a weak smile on your face, he doesn’t look thrilled by the process.

“Don’t bother.” He sighs, and the moment he sees your expression fall, he realises how his words had sounded, and he’s sitting up straight, panicked look on his face, spluttering his way through an apology. “I didn’t mean it like that, I’m just busy and it’s going to be hot and-”

“No, I get it.” Your dejected sigh was followed by a yawn, and you hovered over the end call button. “When you’re less tired I think we should talk.” You tell him, and you see the confusion, fear, and resignation pass over his face in quick succession.

He agrees quietly, and neither of you really say goodbye before hanging up.

He was tapping on your shoulder as you were halfway through talking to E! News, and you’ve never been more anxious and excited in your life, and never so thankful to not be at the main photo area on a red carpet. His timing was perfect.

“So sorry, could I borrow Y/N for a minute?” He smiles charmingly at the reporter, and his expression softens when he sees the relief in your eyes.

Before he even starts, it feels off, feels wrong, feels like a performance for the cameras more than anything else.

“Don’t get teary on me, I know how hard your makeup artists worked.” He begins, and you make sure the cameras catch your surprised confusion. He’s takes one of your hands in his, linking your finger together, and the other holds your face. There’s a moment that passes between you two, his expression softens as he looks in your eyes and it’s as if he’s looking past everything that had happened, the whole setup you’d found yourself in; he was seeing you.

“This is probably the biggest night of my life,” he starts, taking a deep breath, “for more than one reason; you’re my best friend, you’ve been there for some of the highest points in my life, and some of the lowest. I know you, Y/N, I feel like I’ve known you my whole life, and I want to. I want you there by my side for the rest of it,” it sounds... so much more planned out than you’d expected, so much more heartfelt, and you’d be damned if there weren’t tears in your eyes. Despite the fact that this very private moment had a huge audience, which included a reporter muttering ‘holy shit, is this what I think it is?’, you could only see him. Damn if it didn’t feel real.

“I love you; I’ve loved your since-” his voice catches in his throat, and you see a hint of pain flash across his face before he’s smiling again, “since I first saw you in that damn wig they put you in,” it sounds like an addendum, like he doesn’t really mean it, or like it’s not the whole truth, but it’s enough to make you laugh, and when you look down to hide your embarrassed smile, your tears fall from your eyes, “since you agreed to all of this,” he gestures to himself with a self-deprecating grin, though his double meaning is not lost on you, though his expression turns serious after a moment, “since I first kissed you on set, though that feels like a long time ago.” Your breath catches in your throat, and he sounds like he hadn’t mean to say that last part, his voice too raw, his heart too honest for it to be a truly fake statement. You can do little more than whisper his name in reverence. Gently, so gently, he lifts your head, his thumb wiping the tear track from your cheek.

“Marry me?” It’s a question this time, and when you look at him with confusion, disbelief written on your face at the way he chose to word it, he laughs softly, sinking to one knee and pulling out the ring box, and revealing the single most frivolous ring you’d ever had the displeasure of seeing. “Will you marry me?” He corrects softly.

The crowd behind you is going absolutely mad behind you, and cameras are going off at an almost blinding rate, but his eyes don’t leave yours. Nodding, you can’t even form words, so caught up in the moment, and he stands, pulling you into a kiss. The flash of cameras surround you like a sea of stars and Ben’s the only thing keeping you on solid ground. His grip is tight enough that he almost lifts you off the ground, and you’re on your tiptoes with his arms around you before his grip loosens, his hands sliding down the small of your back, and for the first time since this whole fake relationship began, he doesn’t hesitate before he deepens the kiss. He tastes like mint and you’re so glad you’re wearing that twenty-four hour lipstick or you know you’d be a mess, and when you pull back, you’re both out of breath, looking at each other with a something akin to awe in your eyes.

You’re pretty sure, in this moment, you love him; nothing fake about it. And you can see it in his eyes that he loves you too. This is dangerous territory for you both.

Stepping back, he takes your hands again.

“I told you not to cry, love.” He laughs gently, voice so soft as you dab at your eyes with your right hand, watching as he slides the ring onto the ring finger of your left hand.

“What can I say, you have a way with words; how long were you working on that speech.” You sniffle, grinning brightly as you examine the ring, still holding his hand. After a beat too long of silence, you look up to see him smiling softly at you.

“A while.” He admits, and something about the way he says it makes your chest ache. The moment passes and he looks down at your joined hands. “That’s fucking hideous.” He whispers, shaking his head at the sight of the ring, and you giggle, preferring to throw your arms around him, kissing him again.

The two of you are the last two to arrive at the formal photo area, with the logo backdrop, and Joe’s grin is confused where he greets you both at the edge of where everyone was in a line getting a group shot.

“What was all the commotion over there?” He asked quietly, and Ben stepped into position easily, slipping an arm around Joe’s shoulders and pulling you in. You were still beaming, you couldn’t help yourself.

“We got engaged.” Ben murmurs to Joe, careful not to draw attention to them, which was immediately counteracted by Joe’s loud ‘What the fuck?!’ “Calm down, man, we didn’t want to take all the focus off of the premiere, you know?”

As soon as the big group shot was taken, you stepped off to the side as the four boys had their photos taken, and you could see Joe murmuring to the others, while Ben just smiled for the cameras and tried not to blush.

Photos were taken with Brian and Roger, of Rami and Lucy, and even some of you and Ben, and when you posed, you both had an arm around each other, and you leaned into him, resting your hand on his chest with your ring on clear display.

There’s congratulations all around as you’re heading into the theatre, but the biggest shock of the night comes in the form of Roger Taylor wrapping you up in a hug while you’re still glowing with pride.

“Before we go in, I want you to know you did an incredible job, dear. You’re a stunning performer and I never had any doubts about you.” As he says it, you can feel Ben give your hand a gentle squeeze. You’re pretty sure you’ve got shock written all over your face. “I’m very proud of you both.” He claps Ben on the shoulder, and Ben thanks him quietly. It looks as though he’s about to head in, but he turns back. “Be good to her, you hear?” He says to Ben sternly, but there’s a glimmer of fondness in his eyes, and Ben rolls his eyes good-naturedly. He’s still holding your hand.

“What was that?” You breathed as soon as Roger had left; you feel like you’ve been doused in cold water, though you can’t help but smile.

“Well I think he definitely approves of you playing Amanda.” Ben moves to wrap an arm around you as the two of you head into the theatre, searching for your seats. “And I think... I think he gave us his blessing?” That sounds more confused than anything else, and you don’t know how to respond one way or the other, apart from softly laughing as you sit down next to Lucy. Part of you, the largest part that had stayed sane and not drunk on this fake engagement, is pretty sure Roger’s going to be the hardest to break it to, when everything’s over; part of you worries that without Ben, you’ll lose his approval, which you didn’t realise you’d been craving until you’d received it. There’s an anxiety that builds in your chest as the lights go down, but Ben’s hand is in yours and you lean your head on his shoulder, and you can ignore that little worry for now.

42 Followers Special

As promised, here is something fun we put together to celebrate 42 followers. Originally I planned to make a character sheet, but I also thought I’d know a a bit more about the characters backgrounds by the time I got 42. After all, I only had 27 last week, and the week before… plenty of time, right? So I decided to do this instead. When I watch this and other shows I often imagine them in terms of DnD sessions and I like to imagine how the DM will react to some of the stuff that shows up. I really like the episode CheeseBurger BackPack for this because it seems like a DnD session with an incredibly stupid amount of luck for the characters, but I decided I’d start at the beginning… sort of, I’ll probably go back and do a session 0 when I know a bit more.

Campaign: Crystal Gems

Session 1: Gem Glow

MotelCalifornia : You guys already have a map of the town. You’re at your house here on the beach. It’s afternoon. It’s sunny outside. What do you want to do?

ShieldsNRoses : I brought snacks. They’re called Cookie Cats. My own special recipe.

AwesomeSaucem : AWESOME! Gimme!

MotelCalifornia : Alright, guys. Thanks Roses. What do you want to do first?

ShieldsNRoses : Ooh, I want to go to ‘The Big Donut’

MotelCalifornia : Ok, Steven goes to 'The Big Donut’. You guys going to stay at home?

AwesomeSaucem : Sure y not

MotelCalifornia : Alright, so Steven goes to the donut shop. The store is mostly glass windows in the front with posters for local events and advertisements taped to it. There is a giant donut on top. He enters and sees the two teenage shopkeepers running the store. Steven knows them as Lars and Sadie. Let’s switch over to the others for a bit. Rolls The house is invaded by giant bugs that look like a cross between centipedes and beetles.

Pearlescence : I want to roll to see what we know about these creatures.

MotelCalifornia : Okay, make an Insight check.

Pearlescence : Rolls low

MotelCalifornia : Alright, you manage to remember that this would probably spit acid, but nothing else for now.

Pearlescence : Alright I tell the others. Be careful! These things spit acid.

ShieldsNRoses : Hey, I wanna buy something.

MotelCalifornia : Uh, sure-

ShieldsNRoses : I wanna buy a Cookie Cat!

MotelCalifornia : I have a list of their inventory, my dude. They don’t have Cookie Cats.

ShieldsNRoses : Nooooooooooo! This can’t be happening! This has to be a dream! Lars! Lars! I grab him around the waist. Please tell me I’m dreaming!

MotelCalifornia : Uh alright Get off me man I’m stocking here!

ShieldsNRoses : Cmon dad! You totally should have put cokie cats here!

MotelCalifornia : Sorry kiddo, I just didn’t put it on the list… Hold on, I think I can do something. Sadie then says sorry steven I guess they stopped making them

ShieldsNRoses : Stopped Making Them!? Why in the world would they stop making Cookie Catss?

ShieldsNRoses : They’re only the most scrumcius and delicius ice cream Sandwich ever made!!! Dont they have laws for thsi!?

AwesomeSaucem : lol

MotelCalifornia : Lars Tough bits man! nobody buys them any more. I guess they couldn’t compete with lion lickers

ShieldsNRoses : Ugh Not lion licers! nobody likes them.. they dont even look liek lions! Kids these days, I tell you what.

MotelCalifornia : Gotta stop letting you watch King of the Hill.

MotelCalifornia : [PM to Pearlescence : I can do something with this. When he gets back to the house, tell him you heard they were dicontinued and bought a bunch.]

MotelCalifornia : Lars Well if you miss your wimpy icecream so much why don’t you make some with your “magic belly button” He walks away laughing

MotelCalifornia : Yeah, it isn’t but im gonna take that as in character

ShieldsNRoses : ya thats fine. Oh sweet Cookie Cats. I draw a catface on the ccokie cat freezer. With your crunchy cookie outsides and your icy creamy insides. You were to good for this world. I kiss the freezer.

AwesomeSaucem : dude wth we already know ur proud ur snacks but u dont gotta sell em to us

MotelCalifornia : uh… Steven do you want to take the freezer with you???

ShieldsNRoses : nods I go home with the freezer im hummin this song

STELLA: nice

MotelCalifornia: Just wait until you get to hear the actual song. Back to the others. You guys are fighting the centipeetles.

Pearlescence: How many are there?

MotelCalifornia: You see 12 in the main area of the house. 1 by the fridge, 1 in the living room, 1 near the warp pad, 1 by the front door. Roll for Initiative.

—I’m not going to write out a whole fight scene, that sounds really boring, so I’m going to skip it and put in 3 dashes anywhere fighting would be… —

ShieldsNRoses: can I be home now

MotelCalifornia: Sure. You are at the door.

ShieldsNRoses: Hey, guys! You won’t believe this!

MotelCalifornia: You are attacked the moment you step in the door. Roll for initiative.

ShieldsNRoses: Awesome! What are these things?

Pearlescence: Ugh! Sorry, Steven. We’ll get these Centipeetles out of your room. We think they were trying to get into the temple.

ShieldsNRoses: Aw. You don’t have to get rid of them. They’re really cool.

MotelCalifornia: The one she’s still holding takes this chance to try to spit acid at Steven and Rolls misses. It splashes to the floor between you two

MotelCalifornia: sure

AwesomeSaucem: Rolls alright

MotelCalifornia: ok you notice that they don’t have gems

AwesomeSaucem: Um, you guys? These things don’t have gems.

STELLA: That means there must be a mother somewhere nearby.

Pearlescence: We should probably find it before anyone gets hurt.

ShieldsNRoses: Oh! Oh! Can I come?! Can I?! can I?!

Pearlescence : Steven, until you learn to control the powers in your gem, I roll to snap the neck of the one I’m holding we’ll take care of protecting humanity, okay? Rolls well

AwesomeSaucem: heh rad

ShieldsNRoses : Aw, man.

MotelCalifornia: One of the centipeetles decides to start raiding the fridge

ShieldsNRoses: Hey! Get out of there! Go on! Shoo! Shoo! Aw! they got into everything! Not cool!

MotelCalifornia: While shooing it away you notice the freezer is full of cookie cats

ShieldsNRoses: lol No way. It can’t be! where dya get these?! I thought they stopped making them! thx dad

Pearlescence : Well, we heard that, too, and since they’re your favorite…

AwesomeSaucem : We went out and stole a bunch.

Pearlescence : I went back and paid for them.

STELLA: The whole thing was my idea.

AwesomeSaucem : It was everyone’s idea.

STELLA: Not really.

Pearlescence : All that matters is that Steven is happy.

[ShieldsNRoses sends an audio file]

Pearlescence: Is this the song you were humming earlier?

AwesomeSaucem : omg, i <3 this song! u write lyrics 2?

STELLA: nice

ShieldsNRoses: I can’t believe you did this. I’m gonna save these forever! Right after I eat this one. Hello, old friend. Oh, so good! I like to eat the ears first.

MotelCalifornia: Your gem starts glowing a little

AwesomeSaucem: Uh, Steven…

ShieldsNRoses: Wha-? My gem!

AwesomeSaucem: Quick, try and summon your weapon!

MotelCalifornia: It starts fading slowly

ShieldsNRoses: I don’t know how! Ah, its fading! How do I make it come back?!

Pearlescence: Calm down, Steven. Breathe, don’t force it.

AwesomeSaucem: Yeah, and try not to poop yourself either.

STELLA: Please, don’t.

MotelCalifornia: It’s back to normal

ShieldsNRoses: Ah, I was really close that time! Can one of you just explain how to summon a weapon?

Pearlescence: Oh, I’ll go first! I think I remember how it happened. I want to take him to that cherry tree outside the town to show him.

ShieldsNRoses: I throw the petals up and try to make the gem glow Wah!

AwesomeSaucem: Did Pearl tell you the “petal thing”?

ShieldsNRoses: Yeah, I need to practice really hard so I can dance like a tree… I think.

AwesomeSaucem: Listen Steven, all that practice stuff is no fun. Whenever I need to summon my weapon, it just happens. i summon my whip and hit the dumpster See? Didn’t try at all.

MotelCalifornia: Lars comes out the back door and sees you destroyed the dumpster *Lars* Huh?! Again?!

STELLA: my turn

STELLA: outside the lighthouse

MotelCalifornia: ok, you go to the lighthouse

ShieldsNRoses: So I’m supposed to work really hard and not try at all at the same time?

STELLA: Yes.

ShieldsNRoses: rly?

AwesomeSaucem: lol

STELLA: Or… you could link your mind with the energy of all existing matter. Channeling the collective power of the universe through your gem, which results in—At least that’s my way of doin’ it.

Pearlescence: I don’t think that’s how you did it.

STELLA: shrug

ShieldsNRoses: dad did any of that work? Is my gem glowin?

MotelCalifornia: nope

ShieldsNRoses: back to the kitchen then I think my best bet is to recreate what happened the last time my gem glowed. Im gonna just try to make yall be where you were last time exactly So… Garnet and Amethyst were here. Pearl was next to the fridge. Hmm. Amethyst, I think your arms were crossed?

AwesomeSaucem: Okay, your majesty. crosses arms

ShieldsNRoses: And Pearl, your foot was like this. I move pearls foot

Pearlescence: I don’t think it works this way, Steven.

ShieldsNRoses: And Garnet, uh… I grab your face and point it up Yeah

STELLA: sure

ShieldsNRoses: Then I took a bite of this Cookie Cat. Oh, wait! I sang the song first. Uh, he’s a frozen treat, all new taste, interstellar war, now available at Ghurven’s. Aww, it was funnier last time. *sigh* Maybe I’m not a real Crystal Gem.

Pearlescence: Don’t be silly, Steven. Of course you are.

AwesomeSaucem: And you’re fun to have around, even if your gem is useless.

AwesomeSaucem: I… mean, you’re one of us, Steven. We’re not the Crystal Gems without you!

ShieldsNRoses: Yeah, even if I don’t have powers, I’ve still got… Cookie Cat! *takes a bite* Mmm, so good.

MotelCalifornia: Your gem glows brightly and a shield comes out of it. It is a round pink shield with a spiral of thorns from the outer edge to the center where there is a rose

Pearlescence _: Steven, it’s a shield!_

ShieldsNRoses: Whoa, what?! I get a shield?! Oooh… yeah!

ShieldsNRoses: Huh? Cookie Cat! I summon my weapon by eating ice cream!

MotelCalifornia: Roll a d20 Steven

ShieldsNRoses: Rolls

MotelCalifornia: Your excitement causes your shield to shoot across the room and ricochet back and forth, but no one gets hurt but the tv gets destroyed

ShieldsNRoses : NOOOO!!!1!

Pearlescence: What’s in these things? Seriously, I am concerned.

MotelCalifornia: You hear a loud roar from outside. A shadow passes over the window looking like an even bigger centipeetle. Steven, your shield disappears

ShieldsNRoses: What was that?

Amethyst: we go out

STELLA: It’s the Mother!

Pearlescence : I follow Amethyst and Garnet outside, but first I tell Steven to Stay in the house, Steven!

ShieldsNRoses: No way, I’m coming too! I go get the cookie ca fridge and fill it with all the cats in the frzr

— some rolling, some fighting, some hiding —

AwesomeSaucem: We could really use Steven’s shield right about now!

ShieldsNRoses: I go outside wfth the frige and extention cord. I plant it in the sand near the monster Hey! Leave them alone!

Gems _: Steven, no!_

ShieldsNRoses _: Cookie Cat Crystal combo powers, activate!_ I eat a cookie cat

MotelCalifornia: what? Your powers don’t activate

ShieldsNRoses: Uh-oh.

MotelCalifornia: the centipeetle attacks you

ShieldsNRoses: Aaaah!

Pearlescence: We need to save Steven!

AwesomeSaucem: Can we save ourselves first?!

ShieldsNRoses: Goodbye, my friends. I eat several more

MotelCalifornia: nothing happens

ShieldsNRoses: Why isn’t it working?

MotelCalifornia: rolls Steven, you notice your fridge has been hit by a stray blast of acid

ShieldsNRoses _: No… Oh, no no no!…_I try to pick it up

MotelCalifornia: You get electrocuted rolls

ShieldsNRoses: Cookie Cat, he’s a pet for your tummy. Cookie Cat, he’s super duper yummy! I grab it by the cord and drag it to the centipeetle Cookie Cat, he left his family behind! Cookie Caaat! I throw it at him

MotelCalifornia: really? You throw a fridge at him?

ShieldsNRoses: she made me mad

MotelCalifornia: okay, I guess make a strength check?

ShieldsNRoses: * rolls a natural 20* YESSSSS! Now available… nowhere.

AwesomeSaucem: Yes!

STELLA: Gems, weapons! Let’s do it.

MotelCalifornia: You defeat the Centipeetle. Its gem drops on the ground

STELLA: I bubble it

ShieldsNRoses: I want to have a funeral for my cookie cats

MotelCalifornia: Sure

ShieldsNRoses: I dig a hole big nuf for a cookie cat rapper. I place the rapper in the hole I cover it with dirt and I put a leaf in the top Farewell, sweet Cookie Cats. I’ll always remember the time we spent together.

MotelCalifornia: Steven, you hear your stomach growling

ShieldsNRoses: Shh, hush now.

AwesomeSaucem: Are you crying? This is so sad, Alexa play Despacito

ShieldsNRoses: Only a little!

AwesomeSaucem: Well, I guess your powers don’t come from ice cream.

Pearlescence: Of course they don’t come from ice cream. Don’t worry, Steven, I’m sure some day you’ll figure out how to activate your gem.

STELLA: Yes, in your own Steven-y way.

ShieldsNRoses: I’m okay guys. I just- Ugh, I think I ate too many Cookie Cats.

MotelCalifornia: Make a constitution check.

I sent a text to Hay telling her to meet me at the room, I asked Alex to go ahead and I would meet him later. The night was still young and I had full intentions of enjoying it.

“Damn bitch I got here as fast as I could, where's the fucking fire.” Hay said burst through the door.

“Did you get some?” I snarked.

“Nah, But I'm in this for the long haul.” She winked and turned away from me to pretend to make out with herself like when we were kids.

“Whatever, The fire by the way is right here.” I pulled my blue bong from my bag and I already had a bowl packed.

“Bitch!, you been holding out on me!” She grinned. Most people who knew me and Hayley had no idea what we did in our spare time besides Laura, Keta and Jessie. In college Hay and I were your one stop shop for whatever drug suited your fancy.

Hayley took the bong from me and pressed it to her lips. I pulled out my lighter and brought the flame to the bowl. I watched the water bubble almost like cauldron as she inhaled the smoke that filled the chamber.

We passed it back and forth for ten minutes before Hay’s phone started ringing.

“We’re coming!” She mumbled and then hung up on Keta.

“She’s gonna kill us.” I laughed putting my bong away.

“She cant.” Hay insisted standing over the mirror blinking in the eye drops.

“Why the fuck not, id kill us.” I tried to hold a serious faces but it was useless

“Fuck dude.” Hayley tossed me the eyedrops and I used them myself before answering “What?”

“I'm stoned as fuck.” She grinned. We grabbed our bags and headed to a dance club down the street from the place where we caused that bar fight. Now don’t get me wrong Hay and I were seasoned tokers but it had been a while since we’d gotten high in such a public place.

The walk had gotten rid of the smell but Hay and I split a brownie to really fuck us up on the way over. The only problem is, edibles are notorious for hitting you out of nowhere.

“Where the fuck have you two been!” Keta hissed wrapped around Jordan. Jordan glanced from me to Hayley and shook his head.

“We stopped to get a snack dayummmm!” Hayley retorted. Alex H Laughed and Travis looked down at jessie confused.

“Would you like to dance Hay?” I bowed low like an idiot and held out my hand to her.

“I thought you would never ask!” She pretend to gasp and took my hand.

The entire group watched us walk out to the dancefloor with confused faces.

The music changed and a loud creak came from the microphone.

“Testing.. mic check one two!” I said into the mic.

“Oh, you fucking crazy bitch.” Keta laughed awkwardly.

“Im gonna take a note out of my baby doll Hay’s book and sing a little song for you tonight.” I winked.

“Fuck it up bitch!” Hayley screamed from in front of the stage.

The music started slow which took a lot of people by surprise.

I used to karaoke all the time in college with Hay when we’d get drunk enough and even though I was stoned off my ass…. Ya boi could fucking sing and Keta, laura and Jessie knew it.

I kept my voice sweet and seductive. I really liked this song and the sway of my hips to the beat helped me unwind even more. The crowd started to sing along with me and it didn’t take long for the girls to make their way to the front of the stage.

“Yasssss bitch FUCK IT UP” Keta screamed making Jordan laugh.

“I didn’t know she could sing?” Marco said with wide eyes.

“Alex… Alex…. Alexander.” Alex H called to Alex L but he didn’t respond. He was staring up at the stage. I could feel his intense gaze as I finished up my set.

Keta leaned over and whispered into Hayleys ear. “ She’s stoned isn't she?”

“ She’s higher than Santa in the sky on Christmas fucking eve.” She smirked.

“You are too huh?” Keta shook her head.

“Bitch I might be!” hay shouted and Jessie and Laura started laughing so hard.

I looked Alex right in the eyes as I rolled my hips back and forth and dropped it low on the stage. I opened my thighs slowly and took it back up as the song ended. The crowd screamed for more but it was at that moment that The half of brownie caught up to me. I turned away from the crowd and tossed myself right off the stage. I could feel many hands grabbing me as they carried me to the lounge area. Hayley joined me in crowd surfing and ended up plopped right next to me on a leather sofa.

The rest of the group came back to sit with us.

“You crazy bitch!” Jessie plopped down on the other side of me.

“How’d I do?” I smiled like an idiot because I couldn’t help it.

“I totally forgot you could fucking sing you slut!” Laura laughed sitting down by Hayley.

I waggled my eyebrows and sunk even deeper into the couch. Alex L had joined us and stood in front of me but didn’t say a word. He looked at Hayley and Jessie and both of them got the hint. They scooted over and made room for him next to me. Alex leaned over and literally pulled me over into his lap. I could feel his strong hands grab my chin to steady my wondering eyes. No words were said out loud but boy were they spoken in silence. He leaned forward and placed his lips against mine.

I don’t know if any of you have ever had the pleasure of kissing or having sex while high but I promise its a must have experience. My face began to heat up when he slipped his tongue past my lips.

“I think someone likes your singing.” Jessie winked and the group started catcalling us both.

I pulled away and looked deeply into his eyes. I wanted this trip to last forever…..

That night we all decided to be normal adults and stay in our hotel suite. Hay and I passed around glasses of our secret punch.

“This shit is good af!” Keta smacked her lips like the borderline alcoholic she was.

“Right, way better than when you two made it in school.” Laura hummed.

“Thank you, Thank you.” Hayley smirked going back to the small kitchen.

“Fuck, can I have the recipe?” Alex H asked downing his drink.

“Fuck off, Family secret!” I snickered.

“That’s too bad.” Travis winked at Jessie, “I wonder what that was about” I thought.

Hayley and I watched them drink the punch barely containing our excitement. You see this was no ordinary punch… I had picked up a few things before we came on this trip. The punch they were drinking had a special ingredient. THC… and let me say.. Hayley added the entire bottle.. Things were about to pick up much quicker than they thought.

something: school fucking sucks and i can bring up a lot of reasons for this. 1: some of the teachers hired are only hired to educate, so personality wise they could be oppressive towards their students. 2: while i do feel like having a core lesson plan is okay, FORCING kids into certain core subjects is bad and they end up not learning because they feel like they HAVE to be their best or else theyll fail, and thats awful. the grading system isnt completely awful, since it shows kids areas that need to be improved, but making it some life changing thing is just...bad...because at that point it goes from “well you need to improve in these areas, so why dont we offer you help so theyll be easier!!” to “GET BETTER AT THIS OR BE FOREVER UNEMPLOYED” and i hate it. i could rant about this.

I recently had my car damaged in one of our Texas storms. It caused about $4000 in damage to the entire left side, hood, and both bumpers, and knocked out two windows. I just got my car back from the insurance suggested body shop and I can still see where many of the rock marks were painted over. There are divets in the paint in a lot of spots, which is better than the metal that was showing before, but not how I want it. Hello everyone, I am an international student who's been in the USA (Buffalo, NY) for the past 2 years working hard on my masters (i'm 25 now). DORIAN: -The Red Comet is a pretty comfy place, all things considered. It's not big like the UU, but it comes with the promise of adventure, and that's a lot more exciting, in the end. They should be touching down pretty soon, so he's munching on a banana and poring over a the vague map they've got to work with -- very little is explored, and he's got to mark the relevant destinations and landmarks that they do know of. It's a pretty thrilling prospect to chart out more of this land, especially since it promises a somewhat funky biome. The reason it hadn't been explored much before now was largely due to some of its strange animal residents that made travel a challenge -- particularly a certain large land-dwelling goatlike creature that tended to live in groups and drove most explorers out. Luckily, Dorian is an expert on weird animals, and this is right up his alley. He did plenty of research based on what they knew about the big ol' goats beforehand, and he has at least a few ideas of how to get around that problem.-

DORIAN: hey siri did we bring peanut butter?? -he loves the stuff despite a few of his family member's allergies... he likes to eat it where they can't gaze on jealously.-

SIRIUS: =Red Comet was on autopilot for now. When both terrain and weather were clear, Sirius felt comfortable enough to leave the cabin and settle in the small room off to the right. The hum of Red Comet's engines were not the low rumble of the UU's, but it provided an excellent background noise that brought her comfort. They had plenty of charge left from the solar panels and she ensured that she'd filled the reserve fuel tank before departing Lauctis's docks where the UU had also taken rest. Sirius was across from Dorian, seated at the the small community dining table/desk and idly tapping her chin with a pen. She had a field journal out where previous photographs taken of the area were spread about in a concentrated semicircle around her. She was taking the time to write down some more notes before they touched ground. Her camera gear was all packed up and ready in her sylladex, and if they happened to meet this goatlike creature, there was this "Caprinae Repellent" a shady troll sold them at a kiosk. She had faith in Dorian's abilities and knowhow, though, and if all else failed, they had the legs to run out of there like no tomorrow!=

SIRIUS: =When he spoke, Sirius lifted her head and smiled broadly.=

SIRIUS: (yeah i remember that was on our shopping list before we left)

SIRIUS: (lemme see) =she got up and began rummaging around in the cabinets of her small kitchen= (im pretty sure we got it)

SIRIUS: (i personally checked it off the list so it should be here somewhere)

SIRIUS: (oh)

SIRIUS: (here it is) =!=

SIRIUS: =She grabbed a tablespoon (what else would you grab for peanut butter?) and held it up to him, waiting for him to take it before she uncapped the peanut butter and slid it across the table to him. It had yet to be opened, and the seal was still intact, waiting for someone to rip it open and feast upon the contents.=

SIRIUS: (it was hiding next to the other condiments) = :)

DORIAN: -YES. THE BIG SPOON. She read his mind. He grabs that pretty quick before scooping up the jar, too, grinning as he flips the spoon over to use the handle end to poke a hole into the seal.-

DORIAN: that sassy bastard. it thought it could outsmart me for the first and last time. -peels the seal back, checking the underside of it just in case, but it's pretty clean. Ahh, there's nothing like the sight of the smooth, untouched surface of a fresh jar of peanut butter. TIME TO RUIN IT FOREVER. He scoops a frankly ludicrous amount onto this spoon, just so he doesn't have to double dip and get his slobber all in it. He can be courteous sometimes!-

DORIAN: -Tiny, delicate nom.- sho i wash wondering.

DORIAN: have you ever gone shpelunking on any of your-- -swallows- --adventures?

DORIAN: not gonna lie. part of me just wanted to say spelunking just now.

SIRIUS: =Takes her own spoon, but only scrapes about half her spoons worth=

SIRIUS: (actually yes)

SIRIUS: (well sort of)

SIRIUS: (i was telling durgah just the other day about it)

SIRIUS: (it was an underground cave system that had a whole forest down there with even a river running through it)

SIRIUS: (the flora was so different than the ones above ground cause i mean)

SIRIUS: (who knew when the last time any of that even saw the sun)

SIRIUS: (i didnt get that far though cause no climbing rope)

SIRIUS: (that and i had to leave the planet like the next day because the weather on ochandrues is crazy)

SIRIUS: (the lightning storms are pretty though)

SIRIUS: (you can see them from space)

SIRIUS: (look) =she cleared some of her pictures and brought out a sphere containing her digital star charts whereby turning it on, it lit up the room with its scattering of the universe. She pointed to a tiny yellow sparkle, where it zoomed in and showed a slow revolution of five planets around their star.= (here we are in the síocháin system)

SIRIUS: =and then she spread her fingers and it zoomed back out. She moved her hand across the lightyears until she selected a reddish sun. Seven planets were in this one, two of which were revolving around their star at what appeared to be breakneck speed.= (that particular planet is here in the pikkupaholainen system)

SIRIUS: =wiggles her finger at an orangish colored planet.= (ochandrues)

DORIAN: -He's already completely enraptured once she starts telling him the story, but somehow even more so once she brings up her star charts, his own eyes practically sparkling. Maybe from the reflected light, but also because he's a LITTLE BIT EMOTIONAL ABOUT IT. Space is just... so beautiful???-

DORIAN: wow........

DORIAN: man.

DORIAN: thats just so amazing. -He really sounds awed by it, and he is. It's a little more real, hearing a personal account about it, imagining that cavernous forest and any number of things that could have been blooming and thriving down there without the sun. Just incredible. He sniffs once.-

DORIAN: im sure as heck not letting us run out of climbing rope. i only brought a metric assload just so you know.

SIRIUS: (it is isnt it) =She settled her chin in her hands and watched the planets spin, sighing happily. Then Dorian's last statement caused a laugh to bubble up and she grinned= (good to be prepared for anything)

SIRIUS: (maybe one day you can see it too)

SIRIUS: (the best part was i didnt know that cave was there)

SIRIUS: (part of the ground gave out and i fell in)

SIRIUS: (i think sometimes)

SIRIUS: (forgotten places want to be found)

DORIAN: -That makes him grin, too. It's a nice thought, and an inspiring one, if nothing else.- or discovered. -Like they're going to do today. The mere thought of it again is enough to make him sit up a little more in his seat, a little too much energy in his bones.-

DORIAN: well i sure hope like they feel like it today anyway. or tomorrow. sometime at least within the month would be good.

DORIAN: just the thought of getting to fill out this map more is making me antsy!!! hahaha. its just so COOL. getting to do this.

DORIAN: -His gaze softens a little when he looks at her again, sincere.- im really glad im doing this with you. most of my stuff i always do by myself and i like... yeah it inspires me to try my hardest so i can figure things out without having to depend on someone and yada yada but its nice to have someone else around to like. experience something amazing with you and i really feel like thats what were gonna do.

DORIAN: so thank you for like. having me along for this ride. and sorry for getting all sappy on you out of nowhere hahaha!

SIRIUS: (it will give us more time to explore which would be really nice especially since the weather here wont kill us so easily) =The fauna might, though! She zoomed back out on the star maps, and there are blank areas which become more frequent the further out the soft light reaches in the room.=

SIRIUS: (hehehehe no its not sappy) =shakes her head= (i feel the same) =her smile reaches her eyes and her cheeks give off the teeniest of glows= (its not so common to find someone wholl give up a lot to see places far from home so thank you)

SIRIUS: (i really do appreciate you coming out here and seeing all this with me) =AND LEAVING YOUR LOVED ONES BEHIND. She "are you sure?"ed so many times. What she won't admit to him is that for all her adventures and travels, for how nice it was seeing things few had seen, it did get lonely from time to time.=

SIRIUS: (im glad youre here too you know) =she laughed a little and there was a slightly awkward pause before she just shoved her spoon of peanut butter in her mouth. Time to stop talking.=

DORIAN: well hey. its what i love too you know? you get that. -His soft smile shifts into a grin after a few moments of watching her with that spoon, and he stands up out of his seat.- DORIAN: well im done with this for now and we probably dont have much longer in here so why dont we spend our last free time fucking around??

DORIAN: -he stands up out of his seat, sticking his own spoon between his teeth like a makeshift rose and spin-shimmying a few times before offering her a hand... And also pulling the spoon back out and setting it on the table with the other.-

DORIAN: -Activate terrible French accent.- hon hon titty baguette... care to dance mademoiselle?

SIRIUS: =She watched him do this, staring for a bit before she was yanked out of this trance by her now peanut butter-less spoon falling out of her mouth and clattering to the table. She fumbled with it for a moment - fukcgin - and gently set it on a napkin before quickly capping the jar. Not wanting to leave him hanging for long, Sirius made a semi flustered noise, followed by a squeaky- =

SIRIUS: (sure er wait how do you say it)

SIRIUS: (oui oui monsieur mon ami) =Yes, that is exactly how to French, mister my friend. She pushed back in her chair and it slid easily across the Arabian rug. Fkjfalkfjkalf she'll just accept that hand now.=

DORIAN: -he just chuckles, pulling her closer once he's got her hand and taking her other while he's at it to guide her into a sway, stepping them around in circles.-

DORIAN: -he starts singing, but no linkin park or show tunes this time. It's something different.- oh we dont have much.

DORIAN: pocket full of holes aint got no luck.

DORIAN: one in every town weve been before.

DORIAN: stealing from the rich but giving more.

DORIAN: oh this is where the legend begins... whoaaa.

DORIAN: i think i know the ending for this,

DORIAN: and i know it cause...

DORIAN: we ride into the sunset like its the young west!

DORIAN: dont mind lover reach for the stars.

DORIAN: we make out like bandits dreaming of mansions!

DORIAN: every night youll sleep in my arms.

SIRIUS: =Oh wow.. .this was different! She listens to the words as she sways with him, only faltering in the steps a little at first before figuring out the pattern. Following his steps, she relied on him to lead. Her smile is growing, and the glow returns again towards the tops of her cheeks under her eyes=

DORIAN: -Seeing her smile just makes him grin more, pulling her along in a more enthusiastic little sway as he hums. He's not used to literal glowing from most people, but she's special in that way, and it's nice that somehow he might have caused it.-

DORIAN: oh its all or not.

DORIAN: lovers on the run til we get caught.

DORIAN: making a getaway with everything we stole.

DORIAN: pistol on the draw lets start the show ohh oh oh oh.

DORIAN: cause this is where the legend begins... ohhhh.

DORIAN: i think i know the ending to this and i know it cau—

DORIAN: -There's a sudden shudder and groan in the ship that throws him a little off balance, and his first instinct is to pull Sirius closer, despite the fact that she is definitely not small enough for him to shelter. He'll be damned if he won't try anyway.-

DORIAN: ... so that was solar wind right.

SIRIUS: =Nice sea space legs, Dorian! The shudder makes her turn her head and her glow fizzled for the time being. She also hugged him back (cuz that was no mistaking it was a hug!), and pat him on the back.=

SIRIUS: (um)

DORIAN: -TOTALLY JUST A NORMAL HUG. But he is definitely just a little suspicious, and normally he might not be so worried, but Sirius is here with him.- yeah.

DORIAN: -He shifts his hold so he's got one of her hands in his (just in case), and starts moving that way.- now would be a really shitty time for mothra not gonna lie.

SIRIUS: =she's worried because DORIAN is with her. What if he gets hurt?? That would be a NIGHTMARE=

SIRIUS: (well its)

SIRIUS: (plausible)

SIRIUS: (theres space mantas so i wouldnt count against it) =comforting smile! Though what she just said may be less than comforting=

SIRIUS: (but you dont need to worry about those)

SIRIUS: (theyre super gentle creatures who wouldnt hurt anything)

SIRIUS: (they even let me fly with them for a bit)

SIRIUS: (i think their pod was migrating)

SIRIUS: =there is aanother rumble followed by a sound that is clearly not mechanical. Also, it sounds quite large.=

SIRIUS: (though its)

SIRIUS: (not the season for them to go yet)

DORIAN: uhh... -He's holding her hand just a fraction tighter at the noise, brows creased. What gives? They're almost there...-

DORIAN: yeah that doesnt sound like any kind of manta. -With renewed determination, he practically pulls her over to the cockpit, not touching anything just yet. It's her ship, after all.-

SIRIUS: =slips into the pilot's seat as comfortably as though she was putting on a jacket.=

SIRIUS: (as much as it sounds like it wants to say hi im going to go ahead and not give it an answer if thats okay with you)

SIRIUS: =buckles in. Dorian should probs do the same thing=

DORIAN: im okay with that. -He pulls the safety harness and clicks it in place, glancing at her to grin again.- unless the answer is BYE FELICIA.

DORIAN: -Whatever this is, he's sure they can deal with it. Moreover, he feels sure Sirius can outfly it.-

SIRIUS: =Shit that makes her giggle, but she's also quickly turning off auto pilot and eases it into manual drive. There is another particularly loud clunk and ok no, Rammie just patched up the paint job, and no one insults Rammie's work like that!=

SIRIUS: =growling (it's probs the most UNaggressive growl lbr), Sirius increased the thrust and they zoomed forward, but not before another clunk. Gripping the wheel, she pulled down a video feed from above them which were of the rear cameras that acted pretty much like a land vehicle's rear and side mirrors. From it, they can both catch sight of some dark shadowy something move from the left side of the ship before disappearing below them.=

SIRIUS: =She stared open mouthed and squinting for a full three seconds, her brows furrowing. They were going pretty fast as they were, and it was keeping up with the ship. She'd never seen something like this before, and it was definitely bigger than any space manta.=

SIRIUS: (excuse my language)

SIRIUS: (but what the hell is that)

DORIAN: ... uhhhh...

DORIAN: -He doesn't know, but he's definitely borrowing this camera footage later. He's trying to think, flipping through a mental catalogue of possible things it could be. It was probably unlikely to be some kind of ghost, with as solid as it seemed, and without much out here to anchor it to something. It seemed a little too small -- and maybe a little too "normal" -- to be one of those... outer gods, or whatever. The thing was, there was a lot about space they didn't know about. But... he had heard rumors of some kind of force or entity that bore similarities to dark matter, or maybe that was dark matter. All the incidents had been hard to document, though, as they were just as mysteriously ending as they began. Well, this thing was definitely dark. Beyond that, though... He wasn't sure.-

DORIAN: not to be the unhelpful guy but your guess is about as good as mine... ive only got one idea and it doesnt do jack for us really!!

DORIAN: this better not be one of those bermuda triangle surprise black hole kind of things. that would REALLY ruin my—

DORIAN: -Another clunk against the ship, and suddenly the camera feed catches the thing ascending again, but higher, faster, moving ahead of them and its dark shape shifting a little too rapidly for him to be able to tell exactly what it was. What he could tell, though, was that there seemed to be some light radiating from its core, that was more difficult to make out the further it flew away. It looked like it was heading... toward this solar system's star.-

DORIAN: whats it doing...?

SIRIUS: =She watched at it flew over them, the angling of the glass panes giving them more than a great view of said shadowy something. She noticed the light, too, but would have thought it almost a trick of the light if her eyes hadn't been locked on it as they were.=

SIRIUS: (.....besides heading on a collision course with that star i have no clue)

SIRIUS: (at least its no longer rubbing up against us like godzillafied lei lei on steroids)

DORIAN: -He can't not snort at that imagery, but he's still a little absorbed in watching the thing head further away, closer and closer to the sun until he can barely see it anymore. They're almost to their destination, now... He shouldn't feel concern, but something about it is still intriguing. He wants to know more.-

DORIAN: wonder if well see it again...

SIRIUS: =she's squinting again, trying to peer past the sun's light, but there's no use. The creature is evidently gone.=

SIRIUS: (maybe) =she laughed a little nervously= (maybe not)

SIRIUS: (maybe it spared us because we didnt look tasty)

SIRIUS: (maybe its allergic to peanut butter and having our spoonful just now saved our lives) =she laughed again, brushing off that funny feeling that she might be forgetting something.=

SIRIUS: =thats okay through, because a chiming ding does it for her and she glanced back down at the dash. The noise had been to indicate the automatic switch to using actual fuel from the actual tanks which was so rarely done Sirius only used them for emergencies. Her eyes scanned the panels and she finally discovered that the solar energy reserves had been completely drained and the needle rested upon fucking EMPTY. They'd stopped at the last sun to charge the panels, and the trip only took up 40% of the recently obtained energy to get this far! She'd checked it herself! Her initial confusion is now transforming into shock as she stared agape at the dials.=

DORIAN: well thats just another thing in the universe allergic in that case... poor bastard. -shakes head.-

DORIAN: -The ding, though, that gets his attention too, and so does the look on Sirius' face.- what?? whats up?

DORIAN: is that...

DORIAN: the ding of the fuel? the fuel ding??

DORIAN: the dang fuel ding???

SIRIUS: (th-the ding was the ding of the-) =She's flapping her hand at the thing= (the sun thing) =SHE CANT EVEN WORDS RIGHT NOW=

SIRIUS: (it means the sun thing isnt making us go and the ding is for the fuel thing)

SIRIUS: =SHAKES HER HEAD. wow this is a mess= (were going on fuel and the thing dinged to let us know)

DORIAN: oh.

DORIAN: yeah ok i had a feeling that was the ding thing.

DORIAN: ....

DORIAN: what????

SIRIUS: (hhhhhhhhhhhhhhhhh) =She lifts her hands and drags them down her face before holding them straight in front of her. Initiate Calm Sequence.=

SIRIUS: (we had more than sufficient solar energy to make it planetside but for some reason we dont have any anymore) =taps the dial. Maybe there's just been a mechanical malfunction. Spoilers: it isn't.=

SIRIUS: (were running on backup fuel)

SIRIUS: (which we barely have enough of to land)

SIRIUS: (so im wondering right now where the hell the rest of our crap went) =!=

SIRIUS: =says this all very calmly=

DORIAN: that is...

DORIAN: a really good thing to wonder!!!!!

DORIAN: and also.

DORIAN: uh.

DORIAN: ...

DORIAN: so.

DORIAN: uh this is just a theory.

DORIAN: but you remember that shadowy thing.

SIRIUS: (the same shadowy thing that was grinding up against us like a cheese grater to a mozzarella block)

DORIAN: yeah that thing exactly...

DORIAN: -SIGHS.-

DORIAN: if it messed something up permanently i am gonna be SO. PEEVED.

SIRIUS: (waitaminute)

SIRIUS: (are you saying that thing had something to do with the ding)

DORIAN: YEAH. THE DING THING!!!!

DORIAN: THE DING DANG FUCKING THING.

SIRIUS: (so what youre telling me is that ding-) =shakes her head= (i mean thing that blasted off to the sun ate our stored solar energy)

DORIAN: i guess????

DORIAN: i mean thats the only thing that makes sense right?

DORIAN: it had to have done SOMETHING.

DORIAN: -goddamn team rocket...-

SIRIUS: (...)

SIRIUS: =stares at the sun, then looks at her dashboard=

SIRIUS: (im gonna land us safe dont worry okay)

SIRIUS: =she's gone so long on solar power that she hadn't even bothered filling the fuel tanks. Theres a bit left, and it SHOULD be enough for them to land, but=

SIRIUS: =smiles at dorian!=

SIRIUS: (its gonna be okay)

DORIAN: ...

DORIAN: hehe.

DORIAN: yeah i know you will. -He just grins back at her, confident in that. If he could trust in anyone, it'd be a fellow traveler, and he believes in her.-

DORIAN: this is already some ride. all because we had to go and eat that damn peanut butter.

SIRIUS: =His lightheartedness makes her relax and she laughed at his final statement. Cracking her knuckles she guided her ship down through the atmosphere. Breaking through atmo was always a little bumpy - they felt it whenever the UU landed, but with a smaller ship it was far more evident.=

SIRIUS: =She landed on a deep green hill with barely any fuel to spare. The alert light that indicated depletion flickered on and Sirius placed a hand over it.=

SIRIUS: (shhhhhh)

SIRIUS: =After pressing the required buttons to spread the solar panel wings for a recharge, Sirius cut the engines and slumped in her chair, spluttering a long exhale.=

SIRIUS: (so)

SIRIUS: (that happened)

DORIAN: -He's only just a little bit tense as Sirius brings in the ship for a landing, but he won't let her see that. He's still pretty sure it'll be fine, but there's still the matter of what could possibly be on the surface of the planet, too, and everything that's destined to be ahead of them. He just laughs once they're finally settled, unbuckling and hopping out of his seat.-

DORIAN: WHEW.

DORIAN: it sure did. and you nailed it as expected.

DORIAN: didnt think things would get exciting THAT early. makes me wonder where the rest of this adventure is heading... DORIAN: AND THEN SUDDENLY THE PLANET EXPLODED.

DORIAN: -yeah like that would ever happen hahahaha-

DORIAN: -snrks- want me to grab up the... maps? -glances back at the scattered papers-

SIRIUS: =She's super glad Dorian seems okay, especially mentally. She liked to plan things out as much as possible, but with trips to various other planets she ended up throwing out the itinerary for the use it gave her. Even so, she didn't expect this from a star system that was supposed to be relatively GENTLE. HHHHHHHHH.=

SIRIUS: =She blushed at the compliment and spluttered a little, looking away slightly embarrassed.= (hhhhh.... thank you) =but she smiles=

SIRIUS: =The only thing Terezi went fuzzy on war details was how the couple empty spaces in her starcharts happened to get there.= (hehehehe if it does explode hopefully were long gone by that time)

SIRIUS: (yeah grab em please) =she untangled herself from the seatbelt and began gathering up some essentials before their departure= (i had to land us couple hundred clicks east of our predetermined landing zone because of the) =grumbles= (shortage of fuel but it looks safe and is out in the open and away from large bodies of water)

SIRIUS: (so hopefully our chances of running into larger predators is slim)

SIRIUS: (well)

SIRIUS: (slimmer)

DORIAN: -he's stepping over to the scattered sheets, grabbing them all up. He'll sort them out in a minute.- well i hate to break it to you siri but...

DORIAN: -stands up straight again after scooping papers off the floor- you already ran into the biggest predator around. -proceeds to casually perform The Eyebrow Dance.-

SIRIUS: =She had been glancing over at him expectantly, but after he finishes his statement, all she can do is stare, legitimately stunned.=

SIRIUS: (...)

SIRIUS: =Then her face breaks and she hid it behind her hand= (pffffffff hehehehehehehe)

DORIAN: -well now he's grinning, laughing too, and he quickly makes an effort to sort through the mess of papers before captchaloguing them.- im pretty sure most everythings in my sylladex... except the peanut butter naturally. thats pretty important.

DORIAN: anything you need to grab before we head into fresh air? or did you want to rest first.

SIRIUS: =She grinned.= (i dunno about you but with all the excitement i can hardly rest)

SIRIUS: =She is opening some cabinets though, grabbing things she hadn't yet stored in her sylladex: a couple binoculars, and several packs of piton. You never knew. She also went to the ship's small kitchen to grab the peanut butter, which had fallen to the floor after being knocked off the table from the jostling.=

SIRIUS: (cant forget our spooky cloud repellent hehe)

DORIAN: oh of course. we would be fuck knuckled FOOLS to forget that. -He's grinning; he's glad she agreed to run out of the ship, because he feels much the same. There's no way to chill now that they're finally here, especially after all of that.-

DORIAN: lets blow this glorious popsicle stand shall we? -offers a hand and nods toward the exit door-

SIRIUS: =she shoved the rest of their needed materials into her sylldex and smiled as she took Dorian's hand=

SIRIUS: (yeah lets blow it)

SIRIUS: =she turned and blew a kiss shipward=

SIRIUS: =and then laughed at her own joke. She's hilarious.=
