It’s the most basic tenant of the Aurors: don’t take anything at face value. Draco Malfoy’s chalet appears unthreatening, if slightly gauche. His smile appears genuine, their conversation appears polite - but they both know Harry only came here to get evidence.

When Malfoy sets a cup of tea before him, Harry nearly rolls his eyes, tipping it into a spindly plant beside him. It’s so obvious.

“Did you really think I’d fall for that?” 

“Why, Potter, I would never put poison in a good Earl Grey,” Malfoy says, sipping his own as Harry’s chest tightens. “That cup had the antidote.”
