Welp this seems to be circulating again for last year and I've gotten some feedback about it

So lemme just update this shit and explain my points (or change them if they've changed at all)

1) cinnabun is a great ship on its own but is usually just used as an "oh everyone else in the squip squad are dating so should these two" thing and that just feels really cheap considering these two would have a great dynamic

2) i'm not bashing people who do the expensive headphones and deere combo! hell, i do it too sometimes. what i'm saying is that oftentimes the individual dynamics aren't really focused on. it's usually just expensive headphones and deere so happens to be there (or sometimes vice versa)

3) honestly i'm not explaining this. i still can't excuse squip ships that aren't riverway (or squipdew /j)

4) boyfs is toxic because their friendship is already unhealthy and there's clearly some kind of power dynamic even if michaels oblivious to it; it's not healthy and they don't listen to each other well. it just wouldn't be a good ship right after squip shit. but later down the line or in aus? sure, man! if you dont skip over the tough shit.

stagedorks isnt inherently toxic but it is unhealthy in the sense that what started out as just a normal crush turned into an itemization. the squip used christine as a reward for jeremy, just the ultimate trophy at the end of the goal. she treats her like an object that he can attain by attracting her attention by dating other girls (like brooke, who he also mistreated despite her vulnerability towards him). hell, the guy tried to fucking ask her out when she was clearly having a rough time because, you know, her boyfriend was being a douchebag and just when she thought she could have some peace and crack a few jokes with a friend, he asks her out. shallow move. but again, later down the line or in aus would be better. however, i could see a possibility of them talking it all out after the squip shit and taking it slow and all. so it's honestly not a lost cause

however pinkberry (which i censor ironically, in case that was missed; it's an inside joke with my mutual) is pretty much toxic no matter what angle you look at it. i genuinely don't think it's a plausible ship in canon or anywhere close to canon considering the best thing for these two is probably distance and shit. if you really wanted to ship this, again go later on or au route. just remember to keep both gals in character :))

5) i regret nothing about this statement. speech impediments aren't cute. and they shouldn't be emphasized when you write. it's like how you shouldn't write in any weird way about people using sign language, because you don't have to reinforce it over and over. (ex: "blah blah blah," she signed; "yada yada yada," he lisped; those are good reminders that aren't bringing those things to the spotlight). i'll admit, early on, i used to do this in my writing, but it was only when rich was drunk in a oneshot. which, yeah, that would worsen a lisp (to my knowledge) but just let me say, writing the lisp out with all the extra "th"s is just putting way too much attention on it. not to mention it's just hard to read (though i will say, sometimes other characters might misinterpret words, which i honestly haven't seen yet, but just thought i'd mention)

6) this was made more extreme by the caps, i'm sorry, but yeah. rich 5"5'. he's short for a guy. and most people who call him small are probably chicks or otherwise afab (no shade from your local enby guy, just being logical here)

7) i said what i said. cis people please be careful about trans/gnc headcannons. and trans people, if you're going to use an identity for a character that you're not too educated on, please learn about it just in case. not only for accuracy but also to not offend people with that alignment or get any information about that alignment misconstrued

8) these are all really specific examples and this one's honestly just opinionated because that's literally what no nuance november's about. but its october (happy halloween btw!) for one more day so here i am adding nuance. but yeah, basically, moral of the take is to consider whether certain ships would be more compatible platonically or romantically

9) y'all still are smh. cmon i need obscure rarepair content /lh, nf

10) people can headcanon michael however they want! if they wanna hc him with depression, cool, whatever. i think i just said this because i personally have depression. and i totally get projecting all the bad shit onto the happy character, but im kind of someone who figures things out logically? idk, michael just doesn't seem like the depression type to me. i think he has anxiety and existentialism but i dont think, in canon, he has depression. and like i said, rich canonically has depression, which has kind of been disregarded. but the point is that if some trait can't work for your favorite character, maybe look at the other ones and see if it fits any of them

11) WE NEED TO OVERTHROW THE BOYFS SUPREMACY (most of the artists are actually rlly cool tho i love yall. i just think other ships deserve some spotlight)

12) ,,i have very mixed feelings on ocs yall JFLDNS. but like, yeah, i mostly agree with what i said here. if ocs are gonna majorly fuck with canon, i don't think they should be used in canon. simple as that. but im not at all discouraging people to make ocs! hell, me and my mutual both have ocs we ship with our favorite characters. or sometimes, at least in my case, it's platonic. like i hc michael to have met a theater guy named adan during the whole squipcident but it's not a huge deal. but okay, cringe culture is dead, if yall wanna make mary sues, go for it, i honestly don't care. i've always been strung up about mary/gary sues but i've honestly just started to not give a fuck so yk. go off. do what makes you happy gamers :)

13) this is honestly just calling to mind the character's body types. and generally, this can vary and can depend on different things. like i dont think george salazar's that chunky but i do like to think of michael as having a larger body type. so idk why i said this bc its literally just a hc that rich is more physically buff than jake. all im asking is that yall please dont do anything about jenna's body type because in both bway and west end, she's plus-sized and people should respect that

14) this is basically what i've been talking about with all the other ship takes

15) honestly, i think i just put this because i saw someone else say it and i was like "hm makes sense." and like yeah i do agree with it, but it's also okay to have preferences, yk? my hcs for characters tend to be a mix of bway and two river adaptations (ex: my jeremy acts and mostly looks like two river jere but has glasses and that blue-yellow shirt; also when writing/roleplaying, i usually go with a two river jake that acts like bway jake because im biased towards two river but i agree that he's kinda more of a dickhead)

16) yall still need to consider dustin ships smh /t, lh

17) i've seen a small spike of popularity but not much. i think mellman could be pretty sick tbh

18) still agree with this. case in point: the scene where she calls jeremy a virgin and then explains it as being his first play rehearsal. that,,was definitely intentional my dudes KNSDF
