Answering some AU related asks in this post so I don't flood your feed ! I wanna draw some of these so those will be included in a separate post later on !

Jetfire, Ratchet, Wheeljack and Perceptor are on an Optimus assigned mission so that's why/how they're working together !

Prowl and Brainstorm join them later ! Prowl broke Brainstorm out of prison as a really terrible backup plan after the Jetfire's team gets compromised (full context for the AU's locations can be read here) but in summary, Luna 2, where the team was originally working, was raided by Decepticons. This forced Jetfire's team to jump through the Spacebridge to an unknown location.

Brainstorm and Prowl with the help of others storm Luna 2 and hijacks the Spacebridge so Brainstorm and Prowl can get to Jetfire's team. They only buy enough time for a one way trip so now Brainstorm and Prowl are stuck with the Science Team.

As a pitbull owner, this made me chuckle, I imagine he kinda acts like one too. His whale eye of judgement and him having absolutely no sense of personal space and getting into everyone's business. Sometimes he can look incredibly sad and pathetic. Who want him?

Honestly, he's probably considered it and then went "no, no bad Skyfire ! that's an awful thought !"

HONESTLY REAL, Jetfire would be the designated chef, I imagine he cooks in big ass portions because he eats a lot. Ratchet is the second designated chef of the science team, Perceptor mixed up the salt and sugar and fucked up the soup. Prowl only cooked enough food for himself.

First Aid is like ratatouille while Red Alert would overcook all his food out of fear.

Wheeljack and Brainstorm cook the worst meal ever, forced to be removed from the kitchen. Brainstorm probably steals a bite from everyone's food though just because "it tastes better when it's from your plate"

Thank you ! Brainstorm's wings get in the way of Everyone and Everything and he's probably ruined countless of Percy's (and everyone else's) carefully put together experiments. I think he has similar energy to when someone with a long ponytail turns around and accidentally whacks you in the face but on a much more painful scale.

In no particular order and mostly with the Science Team;

Staying up the longest without recharge

One sided racing with Jetfire, whether it be to the other side of the room, lounging area, kitchen, outside, doesn't matter he just needs to get there first (Jetfire chooses not to acknowledge this)

Engex drinking (He's actually an incredibly lightweight drinker, and the quickest to knock out out of the scientists but that won't stop him from trying)

Getting his lab reports done fastest

He keeps trying to challenge Perceptor in a game of scrabble and keeps losing

anything, and I mean ANYTHING in regards to Brainstorm, he will try his hardest to one up that guy

Wheeljack does not fuck around during group game night

Secretly playing a game of "lets see how many times I can lap everyone around the Science Base"

Glaring contest with Ratchet, whoever looks away first loses (also one sided, Ratchet's lost in thought)

"Do you dare me to do this thing?" "no" "ok im doing it"

Ratchet likes to nap, he's a big fan of getting rest and he definitely needs it, he probably snores like crazy tho. Wheeljack likes to drive long distances, doesn't need a location or anything he just likes driving around. Jetfire likes to read and journal his thoughts, his only way to cope and vent around here </3. Perceptor likes word puzzles, crosswords, word search, etc, he would be a HUGE wordle fan.

They have game nights together, mostly board games.

Brainstorm has never heard of the term “relax” in his life but he does like to push other bot’s buttons for fun. He wants to know what makes them tick. Prowl has never heard of the term “fun” in his life but he does like to sit in solitude and darkness in the quiet away from everyone.

The adding height to his wings bit is really funny omg

But nah, Wheeljack’s not really self conscious about his height. He prefers it over being Jetfire’s height. At least Wheeljack can fit through most doorways.

BAHAHA, where there's Prowl there’s Brainstorm and vice versa. Honestly I’m not sure which guy the Science Team fears more.

I'm sure that when they see Prowl around, they just look around the room for Brainstorm like they've just lost sight of a spider they've been keeping an eye on.

Unfortunately, it's gonna have to be cruel and unusual punishment for now :') This AU works differently from my other ones in the sense that this one has a bit of a running story to it, so I can't tell you much without spoiling things.

The basic premise is that this incident happens and everyone has to navigate how they cope with it, Metal included. Some find their way through, while others continue to spiral downwards to rock bottom.

Sonic WISHES he could've pulverized Metal on the spot, but no, he lost the fight and Metal got away. Sure, he was mad, but more angry =/= better at fighting

The next part (which I'm currently working on!) will go over this, but basically it was a fit of jealous rage. A "if I can't have this, then you can't either" type of thing.

But you're right. The real Sonic would NEVER have done that. Metal's realization of this fact is the basis that sets off his character arc and exploring that is what half of this AU is all about :]

(I use any pronouns for my version of Metal! I tend to mostly use he/him before character growth, and mostly they/them and she/her after, but y'all can use whatever)

YEAH they are fighting an uphill battle for that redemption arc after this one :') They fucked up BADDDDDD and they KNOW it.

I think he might have, like, a twinge of resentment towards him about it, but on some level he does understand that Silver had no earthly chance of knowing even if he is from the future. That, and Silver's like one of the only people who are willing to go along with his murder death revenge quest, so he can't afford to piss him off lol

Even still, I'm sure it comes out as snide remarks once in a while though :')

The Tornado is fine! It's probably just sitting in Tails' hangar, collecting dust. No one can bear looking at it right now.

And oof. That's actually hard to say! I don't think I can accurately place it in a specific game timeline, unfortunately. But I can say that Sage isn't here nor has she been created yet (as much as I love her </3 but my co-auther hasn't played Frontiers) Eggman will behave much like he does in IDW, if that gives you a good reference point.

Eggman is very much alive, and we will see him! But no, he's NOT happy about any of this. We'll see this explored later, but yes, he absolutely sees Metal as a liability now that he's gone and painted such a HUGE target on their backs. And also little mad that he acted autonomously and took away a potential asset/victory from him.

From what I've heard, he needs either the real or fake set of Chaos Emeralds to do that....??? And right now he has neither, so no, unfortunately not :') He's never once allowed near any of the emeralds, because his friends know he's crashing out and will hurt himself and others if he goes super/dark. They spend the whole time playing Emerald Hot Potato to keep them from him lol

Sonic absolutely drops his whole being the better person shtick IMMEDIATLY though, at least regarding Metal. He's gone too far, and now there's no more second chances for him. As far as Sonic's concerned, Metal is to be destroyed on sight.

YES! Or, at least, Shadow tries. He tries to reach out, and he tries to help him cope, but Sonic just isn't open to it. He's not in a headspace to be able to receive any advice at all.

Honestly, I like to think Amy probably came crying to him and told him about it pretty much immediately, and that he becomes one of the biggest comforts to her during all of this. He seems like he'd be a great listener and give some top tier advice <3

Regarding your most recent post, Has Dyo ever been broken or shattered?

OOOOOOOO the answer is a definite yes :3 And its one of the main reasons Hasel leaves

Near around WW1 Hasel started breaking down again because of the vine resurfacing (due to all the bloodshed), making him more absorbed in his head and distant, and in this way he feels he could never be a good enough partner for Dyo

Then due to this distance he ended up in the grey dimension again, his physical form attacked Dyo when he tried to help Hasel and accidentally ended up chipping his mask. This put the nail in the coffin for Hasel, despite not being his fault, and he decided Dyo would be better off without him (instead of tackling his issues head on and learning to be a better partner) so he left, leaving his briefcase as memorabilia. He’d convinced himself it was for the better, now he can focus on finding the cure for the vine and Dyo will be “safe”

Dyo had creeping suspicion that he might up and leave one day as he got more distant, making him anxious up until Hasel’s departure. Of course he didn’t think it would actually happen, but this explains why he didn’t think he’d just walked off for firewood or something, he had a dreaded feeling he’d left, and he did.

This leading to Hasel (up until present day when he’s captured by the facility a century later) to resume his search for a cure. He starts remembering something from a dream in his past, of a far away land he’d visited as a child, where he’d met a masked child of similar age. He brushed this off until it kept coming back, and you know Hasel he’s really irrational so he decided this place must be real (and he was right, somehow!)

So he starts researching about places that sounded similar in odd libraries and archives, eventually finding a place called “Alagadda”. An old explorer who fell into a pocket on earth winded up there. Hasel realised the same must have happened to him in his youth. The explorer ended up documenting the place, finding a way to build a portal between the realms, however he never fully completed this research and it is unknown what happened to him.

Hasel ends up finishing the portal, believing the answer to the cure lies on the other side

He goes through and eventually meets the Black Lord, (not knowing it was Dyo). He can’t quite place why he looks familiar. As time doesn’t work linearly in Alagadda and doesn’t parallel with earth time, he is meeting Dyo before he became Dyo when he was still Anguish/The Black Lord. Anguish believes he is sick and begs the Doctor for a cure, turning out that The Black Lord being under the control of The Hanged King was the “sickness”, sparking the event for Anguish to eventually escape through the portal just after Hasel. Hasel (by some mirical) ends up exactly at the time where he left, as if hed never been gone at all, after which he is immediately found by Facility researchers from S.C.P who had been tracking strange fluctuations in unknown energy (Dyo has been caught at the same time and they end up in the same van, im debating changing how this happens so we’ll see :3)

Dyo on the other hand emerged 2000 years in the past before the portal was ever created, this creates a paradox and as a result he loses his memory, causing him to forge a new identity to cope (of which he eventually believes is completely true)

However, since the portal is built in the future, Dyo eventually starts picking up memories he’d lost, and remembers who he was

Thats the gist of the story :3 some things ive altered slightly from my last explanation and ill probably keep doing this if I find plotholes, this is basically my first ever attempt at a fully fleshed out story so its definitely not going to be perfect 😭 but im glad you guys are liking it so far :3

I might change what the purpose of the vine is, perhaps what the vine actually does is warn Hasel when death is imminent, but he thinks that when someone has the vine they are infected, so he ends up killing them to stop the spread, however they were only ever going to die because he was going to kill them because he thought they were infected. This sorta makes sense since he was guilty that he couldn’t prevent his family from dying, so now he has the means to prevent others from dying. It also clears up why the vine is still around after he learns to accept his family’s deaths and that they weren’t his fault. So he’s convinced that the vine is his punishment and he thinks that it means he needs to find a “cure” for some disease, when really he was the “cure” all along, and was supposed to be helping people and healing people or comforting them if death is imminent, like how he did in his former life. This ties into his healing and death-touch powers and it makes more sense why he has these. He can kill at a touch of his hand, but thats to help people who have no chance at survival reach peace and not to be a midas’ touch sort of situation. He also never hears directly what his daughter wished for, just what his wife told him before she died, so his daughter easily could have wished for him to be alive again so he can help people :( And since the brothers death would have answered this wish, it makes sense why he was brought back in the way he was, being a crow (the omen of death) with healing and death-touch abilities.

so the whole time he was misinterpreting what the vine was, perhaps the manifestation of the vine and his wife wasn’t ever anything to do with the vine at all, he just assumed it was, when the vine manifestation was actually just mad intrusive thoughts due to guilt, this also makes sense why the vine manifestation turned into Dyo after he left him since its directly linked to his guilt and not the vine itself

Some silly side notes are that Dyo’s original body is like SUPER tall and he gets it back when he returns there, also when Dyo and Hasel are apart after WW1 they start taking on traits of the other, Dyo obviously has his poncho making him hooded, but be also gets more grumpy and bitter (not enough to change his whole personality though), Hasel on the other hand stops tiding his feather so they get really unkempt, eventually making his fur resemble Dyo’s hair (at the end of the series they both have it tied back :3). When Hasel winded up in Alagadda as a child he adorned a bird mask, but upon returning he doesn’t have one. We never see what Hasel looks like as a human either, this is because I have an unbridled hatred for when monster characters or characters with masks/full face helmets take them off or transform back into a human, its like its not the same character anymore even though it is, like what was the point of the character being a monster to show character development or learn a lesson if theyre just gonna be human at the end of the story, it annoys me every time LMAO (obviously exceptions being human au’s of characters, i specifically mean like when its part of a narrative in cannon material) Even if I do a post where I make concepts if they were human, Hasel specifically is keeping the Black square (not dyo though since he never was human in the first place :3)

which makes me think, what would a personality swap AU look like for these two? Theres so much to be explored, like Hasel taking up partying and drinking to deal with the death of his family of which he blames himself, and Dyo becoming closed off and reserved because he never made up a past as a coping mechanism, he just has no idea who he is which makes it hard to form any sort of romantic bond, like would any of you like a full concept of that? Im curious

The One Where Logan and Wade Learn How to be Boyfriends (series), ashe_urbanipal Literally you could not describe a story/series in a way more designed to push all my most favorite buttons. They have to figure this shit OUT!! It's MESSY!!! And they keep TRYING and getting gradually, unevenly better at it, mostly!!! The love confessions happen in the first fic in the series and then we get into the MEAT of it all. Brain damage, jealousy, trauma, and intense relationship-repairing conversations while having fingers cut off. This series has it ALL.

Come Hell or High Water, farmhandler Another wonderfully messy long fic that acknowledges these guys need serious therapy. The deep affection and intense frustration are both so REAL, it makes me so happy.

Blood, Dirt, Love (Stop), por_queeee The relationship issues are resolved without TOO much difficulty here but they're definitely present, and also this fic has my absolute favorite take so far on Logan's X-Men-related trauma and how that might play out for him.

Don't Want To Be A Fool For You, HeavensAche This is just deliciously complicated and messy and beautiful. Like honestly I could list specific things but if you want the slow tangled process of them figuring their shit out, this DELIVERS.

Like a Little Prayer, whiskeywitch This one is very short but it's probably my favorite take on the "Logan skewers Wade during a nightmare" scenario. Intense but understated, not easily fully resolved.

It's Not Fucking Nice, Thestarvedghost I really enjoy this exploration of how Logan's two hundred years of issues and damage would weigh heavy on his relationship with Wade, no matter how much they love each other. A really interesting way to bring Logan's Victor issues into it, too. (Me being me, I should probably specify that this contains NO sibling incest, just deeply abusive and unhealthy relationship dynamics.)

the girlfriend experience, kekinkawaii In which Wade FUCKS UP, big time. Happy ending but GOD, I love when they really truly badly hurt each other.

so leave me my liver and leave me my skin (leave me the way all those other homes did), iguessyouregonnamissthepantyraid Love when Logan gets to be an absolute fucking mess of trauma and poor coping skills. With a hopeful ending, even! (This one is gen but it's still in great part About Them.)

It comes with an odd sense of guilt he doesn't like to look at. Especially when you do something that makes his heart flutter.

You, on the other hand, probably didn't develop any real feelings until he actually saved your ass.

You'd been running for your life and he’d snatched you up and into the vents, tossing you easily into his shop and shutting it behind you

His gaze transfixed on said vent, a hand on his gun. Something about him choosing to save your life while also putting up with your attitude was a little attractive…

Okay, insanely attractive

Sure, Sebastian’s guilt for being attracted to you is bad, but so is yours

You’re attracted to a married man who has absolutely gushed about his wife in front of you before. Even if it was only because someone tried to get a little flirty, what does that matter?

Honestly the mutual attraction makes it hard for you both to focus

Everything about that man is intoxicating, his smile, his laugh, his attitude. Can you really be judged for this?

Neither of you can focus on anything but each other whenever you’re both in a room.

It’s led to Sebastian getting surprised whenever another person buys something off him because he had no idea anyone else was in here

Its also led to you freaking out whenever one of the other expendable touches your shoulder without you having realized anyone was standing behind you

You hide it well…at least you hope you do?

The longing glances and quiet staring on both sides is unbearable though

Especially considering you’re both making those dolly eyes at each other, batting lashes and daydreaming

It’s cute but it’s also incredibly wrong of you two and you’re painfully aware of it

No amount of sharing food and acting like it’s not a date will make it less of a date

He’s already long since decided that he’s going to offer you come with him so you both can leave together

And though neither of you will have the heart to confess for quite a while, I think he’d do it on your way out. Something about you almost dying when you both escape makes him desperate to tell you how he really feels

When that ‘I think I’m in love with you’ slips out while he’s bandaging your arm that’s been cut by glass, how can you refuse?

Especially when you’re in love with him too?

He’ll toss that ring into the ocean once you reach the surface, his wife never loved him like you did anyway

Ever since I met dnp in person I’ve felt this strange sense of loss. It felt like I wasn’t supposed to be there. Dan did a fake laugh like 4 times and then Phil just looked exhausted. I felt .. bad for them? Like maybe a 100 people went before me- it must be super exhausting.

But seeing them irl killed any para social feelings I may have felt. Like ok two dudes who I don’t know and they don’t know me. But I do want to go back to when I hadn’t met them and I could just quietly enjoy their videos. Maybe im just too old!

Phil also kept glancing at me throughout the show it was straaange

I know it's not the typical experience that gets passed around, but I honestly think what you experience is pretty real and it's definitely one reason I don't take any emotional attachment away from meet and greets. I think some people do and I'm happy for them and I definitely am not invalidating any of those experiences - it's honestly more about how you feel than how they feel.

But I'm the kind of person who loves passively observing them so the observations I have during meet and greets ends up being pretty similar to what you described. Dan copes with the social awkwardness by having a script in his head that involves compliments, fake laughs, and saying the same thing to everyone. The voice he uses is so jarringly not a normal Dan voice that I almost want to shush him when I hear it. I think Phil actually does approach meet and greets with a slightly more genuine demeanor but that means when he's not feeling it or he's exhausted (which in a run of this many shows, I'm sure he was) it's more visible and harder to ignore.

They really are just two dudes you don't know and who don't know you. But in my experience, the parasocial affection will return as you watch them. Because they're still the same guys you loved going into it - you just had a bit of a peek behind the curtain. For me, what I feel parasocial about is how they are to each other, anyway, and that hasn't changed.

Bruce: guy who never learned how to identify process and express emotions so he just…. doesn’t and he doesn’t get why that doesn’t actually work

Barbara: needs to prove to herself / everyone else that she can do it herself so she never asks for help when she needs it like on one hand she’s super competent but also she still needs to s l e e p

Dick: *surface pressure from encanto plays* ‘talking about your emotions is great I won’t do it but you guys definitely should’

ok i put a longer post abt tim's Emotional State in drafts for when my brain is less melted but re: tim and going to college im just gonna get a lil silly with it. hear me out.

i have this whole vague story in my mind for tim's college days moonlighting as red robin as he tries and figures out what he wants out of life. (it's a while after rr leaves off and all because he's like. Super Depressed for a hot minute and then has to drag himself through actually bothering to get his GED and applying to college, etc., but eventually lucius is like hey. you're great with gadgets, and you clearly love tinkering. i'd hire you for r&d in a heartbeat but you need at the least a bachelor's of engineering. i know you have a lot of the technical skills, but you need a degree. so tim goes ugh fine i'll get a goddamn engineering degree how hard can it possibly be.)

anyways. i think it's a universal experience that if you go to college and you hang with the STEM crowd, you will unfortunately get to know at least one Fucking Guy. it's like brentwood arc; tim does make friends, but there is just this One Fucking Guy he cannot stand and will never stand. this Fucking Guy is in the common room playing his guitar at midnight. he's drunk and yelling and laughing really loud when people have exams coming up. he's convinced everyone adores him. there's also a detective/supernatural plot going on. the subplot is just that tim hates This Fucking Guy.

at some point, there's a story beat where he as red robin has to rescue That Fucking Guy from a real dicey situation, and That Fucking Guy is really shaken and grateful to him, and he's like okay. maybe. maybe we are making progress. but then the next time he encounters This Fucking Guy as tim drake, the guy is just like. "ohhhh hey drake you missed it last night, it was AWESOME!!! i had to save red robin from a KILLER ROBOT. he's pretty cool though i guess. i bet you wish you could be more like him huh??" and tim is just. I Will Not Grind My Teeth About This. I Will Not. his life is a fucking joke. he dismantles the toaster oven in the common room kitchen to cope. it's definitely to cope and not just so that That Fucking Guy won't be able to heat up his pop tarts in the morning.

at another point, This Fucking Guy looks at street mode, lowkey, unremarkable Normal Car-looking redbird and goes, aw, dude, i thought your dad is loaded?? he only got you a generic-ass sedan?? that sucks lol, if you want we can take my car down to the game instead. and tim is just Say One More Fucking Word About My Baby I Dare You I Fucking Dare You One More Fucking Word.

(also i like to toy with the idea of this being a university in metropolis - he's out of gotham, but not too far. keeps him from getting antsy about what if he's needed because he can get right back over there. and in the meantime, he can hang out with kon and kara a lot, and occasionally enable and be enabled by lois lane and her snooping habits. there's another subplot in which tim and lois get up to shenanigans. at least once.)

it's sort of an introspective thing of him trying to come to terms with the way he no longer wants a fully normal life the way he always used to assume he would - he has the option to walk away from the cape now, like he always thought he would one day, but he just can't give it up anymore. he's fallen into the same black hole he watched dick and bruce dive headlong into. it's also about him finding joy in tinkering and working with his hands and getting to spend more time as tim drake first and foremost. and it's about him venting to kon about That Fucking Guy while they have a lil picnic on the green while kon loses his absolute shit laughing. all against the backdrop of a little mystery or something. <3

OH and also, most importantly. zoanne wilkins is there and laughing at him for assuming college would be easy. and kon gets her into wendy the werewolf stalker. My City Now.

Mingi looks like he would fuck someone on stage whilst performing if the opportunity was allowed but he bitchless for sure because every week he on toktoq talking about all the random documentaries he watched in a week- he watched 4 history documentaries in 5 days.

Seonghwa to me doesn't give off bitchless energy, I think he's getting some on the regular and I thought he was causing grooves in the sheets in Paris-

and then my mind changed when I saw him go live on Toktoq and he was SMASHED, there was no thought in his mind he was so drunk, happily carrying around a bunch of snacks in his arms like a big baby and then proceeding to talk to atiny's whilst in a bathrobe in his hotel room and then make ramen WHILST it was still in the packaging (hot water and everything) and then just ate it half-cooked.

and I watched that entire live and thought he was adorable the whole time because I was thinking how wholesome Seonghwa is that out of all the things he could have done in Paris after getting canned, he was like-

'I just want to go live in my bathrobe, eat ramen without a bowl and yap with Atiny's about nonsense'

And I think that's kinda sweet and shows a lot about what his priorities are... food, comfort and freedom (very aqua Venus of him).

I thought Jungkook was champagne confetting it 7 days a week and then he goes live with his solo karaoke sessions, lightsaber in the middle of his hallway and no furniture on the walls and i'm like- BITCHLESS!!!

And then what confirmed my theory is when Matthew from Kard went live (love Kard btw) and Matthew (I fkn FROTH over this man I stg) mainly writes the songs for Kard and his lyrics are NASTY like-

'throw it back like a frisbee she wants the tip and I ain't talking bout guidance'

And so ppl assume he's freaky right like FERAL in the sheets and he went live and ppl were teasing him about his freaky nature and he was like-

'I'm actually not as freaky as you all think I am, if its too freaky I'm not into it- I'm just a passionate person and I know you all think I'm freakier than what I am because of the lyrics I write'

And that's when I realised that maybe it is the bitchless guys that act the freakiest.

That and I found out that Changbin wrote like 80% of the lyrics in 'I Like It' and I was not expecting that AT ALL so maybe Chris is bitchless and Changbin is out here asking 'don't ask what are we?'

I'm getting the vibe that you may seek a lot of validation from not only people in your life but from PAC's as well, you can get really offended by negative traits that come up in these types of readings and also likely hate all forms of criticism. You are the type to romanticize life and have an inflated ego, thinking of yourself as on a higher pedestal than others. You guys are above average in the looks department and tend to get what you want using your looks/charm. Your not going to have much trouble attracting a romantic partner, but you will have problems making them stay. You can become quite violent and hysterical when you don't get your way and that can turn your partners off. It's as if ppl will find you attractive but once they get to know you, think your batshit crazy and wish to get going asap. I'm definitely getting the vibe that you act high and mighty and like your the queen/king bee out of deep insecurities. Like a person that gets told their pretty/handsome so they go along with that but lowkey live life not 100% sure that's the case. You may not hold a healthy view of love, believing that it's your partners duty to love and care for you but you don't have to particularly do anything for them. Ooooo, very passionate and powerful. Im seeing a duality with the feminine and masculine energy (remind me of Ryujin). You guys may be my favorite, I just get this warm tingly feeling and this random burst of energy (If I could meet with you irl, ik I would love you 💕❤ )

Now for the masculine energy. I keep hearing the saying "I rule with a iron fist", so you guys may be quite stubborn and set in your ways. I'm also seeing a bit of a temper, you guys give such Taurus vibes, but it takes a while for it to really show its head. I don't think you blow up for every little thing but once your temper ignites, there's no putting out the flames until the fire runs its course (I'm seeing Canadian fires, how terrible and drawn out they were, it's the same as your temper).You do hold this view of "I deserve.....", which can help you to have the confidence to go after who/what you want but when your entitlement is extreme/irrational, you can come off as just a pushy asshole.

This pile has the energy of air signs. Your the type to overanalyze and over think everything. Even when it comes to things that you say, you may think about your words quite carefully before you say them. SIT DOWN CHAT. ITS RANT TIME.

What do you mean Alex started making his actual film when he was aroud 20 and then at age 27-28 he fucking dies. I cant. He was so young and it ruins me man, i gotta rant about my fave.

Alex seemed so determined and happy about making this movie, it had auditions, a trailer, a few recorded takes that never released, his “best” friend literally got cast as the main character for it!! - bro was so excited for ppl to audition for his project (you can hear it in his voice when hes talking to Brian abt asking Tim to try out). Alex also literally declined going to dinner so he could work on things for Marble Hornets. He had such a nice like friendgroup too Brian, Tim, Jay.

Like Alex pre-operator was probably the sweetest guy imo, he was proud of the people working with and for him, he cared about them (he says hes very proud of Jay and also asks Tim abt his like coughing), he was also quite patient i believe.

Then yk shit hits the fan over the 3 months Marble Hornets is being shot and he changes so so much its so insane - he gets paranoid and irritable and his passion isnt all there anymore :C which probably was really upsetting, and maybe caused some internal confusion and conflicting feelings in himself of: “Why cant i just be normal!?” meaning he’s kinda at war with himself. Also not to mention he was going through the operators effects alone at the time so its not like he could just bring it up without sounding crazy, he probably felt so alone and that no one would understand.

As we know he moves away, probably to hopefully escape whatever was happening to him and to put things behind him, to start over in a new place, where its safe and thats with Amy!. Now ive brought this up before but idc- he says on the phone to her

“Im gonna come visit you soon okay?”

“Okay.”

“And while im up there we might actually film a few things for Marble Hornets”

“Good i could use the company.”

“Actually uh..ive been thinking, i might try to transfer there after im done shooting all this.”

(That to me is Alex already planning to stop shooting it, already making plans to move with Amy but hes still unsure if he’ll be putting her in danger)

“For real?”

“Yeah, i mean the film program is better the one im at now so..i mean well thats what ive heard at least”

“Also i just dont like being this far away from you.”

(He says that so ominously but hes definitely like sure of himself and obviously Amy sees nothing wrong with it, she’s probably just happy that her boyfriend is going to come see her for the first time in..however long. Alex probably thinks he can keep her safe too)

MY POINT WITH THAT PHONE CALL ISS: His solution of escape was to 1. Burn the tapes and 2. Go to Amy to be safe but also to make sure SHES okay

Literally he thought that the operator and him murdering Brian would magically go away if he just left the area to be with someone who loved him, it was probably also his way of ignoring those things which all in all was a HORRIBLE coping mechanism (yk ignoring it) but heyy its Alex, he is not healthy. So, for 4 whole years he lives with Amy, away from everything and then WHOOPS Mr pale tall and skinny is there again to fuck up his day.

I honestly dont even wanna go in depth about how Alex mustve felt, how bad it must have hurt for his past to come back on him and find him somewhere he was meant to be okay. Also the way he probably killed Amy, did he make her feel secure then did it as she died in his arms? did she fight him? Amy does seem confrontational in a way- then he had to leave her behind, start anew AGAIN.

Except this time, he finds Jay has gotten himself involved and there is Alexs new goal, his new task that continues to drive him throughout the series that absolutely turns him into more of a horrible person: STOP THE SPREAD OF THE SICKNESS AND ‘SAVE’ EVERYONEE…except for that one guy he just killed while he was going insane.

One person i doubt he was trying to save eventually, was Brian, given that apparently Brian has been killed multiple times, instead Brian became like a pest getting in his way which makes sense. SO OVER THE COURSE OF 3-4 years, all this shit his happening and it gets to the point where Alex admits he thought HE was the problem (which in a way, he is), he shifts that blame onto Tim, then the big fight happens where they’re ultimately trying to kill eachother.

Alex is dying but as he is, he seems sorta sad, he fully believes he was doing the right thing and now, the only “right” thing to do, is die.

God its just his transition from making a silly student film and then 7 or 8 years later, dying due to an Eldritch being really messing up his and everyones life.

I never see anybody talk about how at one point in the comics gar was canonically an addict like can we talk about this can we explore this more???????

And like, the thing is it is absolutely something you need to do your research on and actually try to UNDERSTAND if you're going to do anything with it, but it's also something that I feel... Genuinely makes... A lot of sense for his character, and should be an aspect included in more of his stories. I feel like more people are understanding and acknowledging he's a fundamentally traumatized and mentally ill character and you really can't divorce him from that without changing him entirely and giving NO reason for Why He's Like This aside from ... Idk... Immaturity, but I feel like a reliance and addiction to drugs, specifically sleeping pills in the comics and the YJ cartoon, is something that.. fits, very clearly, into the other patterns of Who He Is.

Like, he's experienced non stop trauma since an extremely young age, he's been a victim of abuse, which means he almost DEFINITELY has nightmares like probably every other hero out there. he canonically has anger issues he tries REALLY HARD to keep under control but his inner monologue and when he's alone he gets very negative, and sometimes lashes out at people who, usually, just want to help. he's depressed, he seems to struggle to make genuine connections with people even tho he desperately needs closeness and affection (probably part of why he acts so flirty, he wants physical closeness but lacks the stability to really let himself get close emotionally, his goofy nature is also a way to keep people at a distance without pushing them away completely. He wants them close, but not close enough to see who he actually is), he canonically jokes all the time because otherwise he would be depressed, so he's always running from his real feelings by putting on a mask and pretending to be something he's not, or at least a different version of himself that isn't totally genuine (it's an aspect of him, sure, he is genuinely a fun loving silly guy, but most of the time it's also just... A self defense mechanism from reality and HIMSELF) and so much more like. Idk man.

All of that adds up to a very traumatized person with avoidant tendencies who actively tries not to think about anything bad, sad, upsetting, and... That's all stuff that often leads people towards dependence and addiction of various kinds. You see it in other characters like Roy Harper for all the same reasons, tbh... They're actually pretty similar dudes depending on what versions you're looking at. Same w Dick Grayson, tho afaik he's never had a drug problem, Im p sure he HAS has alcohol problems.

All of them were just silly ass kids who got into the hero business way too young, had awful shit happen to them before and/or during, and did what they had to do to try to cope.

If anything I've said about Roy or dick is incorrect, pls correct me! I don't know their lore quite as well as I know my Dear Boy, Garfield's... But I do think that despite the difference in age (which rlly isn't much, especially once they're all adults) these three could all probably get a lot out of like. Just. Talking to each other. Mask off, literally, no sugarcoating, they all know how shit REALLY works, they could be honest with each other, ykno? But also I think gar and dick should fist fight in a Denny's parking lot at 3 am. Does that make sense?

(also btw most references I make to "canon" are what was true prior to all the retcons, so anything from 1960s-2011 I believe? Bc everything they did with him since then except for a few things more recently have been absolute trash garbage, they're only in the last few years actually taking the character seriously again and still haven't really... Normalized ? To like... A consistent level of seriousness and consistent lore and shit. So I'm not taking any of that into consideration for this particular analysis/exploration, plus I haven't actually READ most of it so I can't rlly speak on more than just small details I know to be true like: canon healing factor WOOO this boy is HARD TO KILL, BABYYYY GIVE IT UP FOR ANIMAL DNA KEEPING HIM ALIVE DESPITE IT ALL)
