We Should Make Up | Kaji x Reader

Summary: This is kind of a part 2 to the break up headcannon i wrote. Kaji sees you entering a bar and can’t help but seek you out and try to make amends with you after your breakup.

A/n: This was so rushed bc i have somehwere to be so i will more than likely go back and make adjustments to this! Let me know what you think! ALSO TOMORROW’S EPISODE WE GET TO SEE OUR MAN AGAIN IM SOOOO EXCITED!!!!🤍

It was out of the norm for you to go out, and by go out i mean bar hopping, drinking in public places with your friends or worse- strangers. It had been a few months since you and Kaji split up and as much as you didn’t want to, your friends finally convinced you to go out with them. You wanted to hurl at the idea of Kaji finding out about you going out and even worse, drinking on top of it. It was one thing that he would be upset over, strictly because he always felt the need to watch you and be with you out in public only to protect you and it was another thing, because he imagined how easily you could be taken advantage of if you were intoxicated. Just the thought of these things could easily set him off.

You entered the bar wearing a black mini dress with a corset top, squeezing your rib cage and extenuating your breasts and a regular pair of heels that were semi comfortable, nothing over the top. You didn’t know where this night would end but your friends were sure they’d help you make the most of it.

Meanwhile, Kaji sat in his room preparing to patrol and do his almost daily routine of also checking up on you from afar-watching. He was walking down the same street you were on and was concentrating on individuals around him-scanning the area for any threats, and that’s when he saw you. His eyes immediately widened and his jaw dropped almost to the floor as his lollipop hit the ground. He was shocked seeing you in such close proximity to him and you were wearing that?! And you were here?! But you looked so good, so tempting. His eyes examined your figure until he shook his head and ripped open another lollipop wrapper, tossing it in his mouth. His face of shock quickly turned into anger. He looked left, right, and left again to see if anyone he knew was about to see him enter the same building you were in. Kaji did not go out, ever. He didnt like the people, didnt like the setting, didnt like the idea of sweaty shit faced people rubbing up so close to each other, especially you.

His eyes met yours amongst the crowd- if looks could kill, he would be the embodiment of it. You’ve never seen him glare this hard before. Or at least not at you. “Oh shit.” You mumbled under your breath. You swiftly turned your head around in the opposite direction, which was a sad attempt at playing off seeing him-hoping he didn’t recognize you.

To only make matters worse, when you turned around, you bumped into a guy’s chest causing him to spill his drink. “I’m so sorry. Oh my gosh.” You apologized.

“No worries! I’ll just get another one. Why don’t you come with me to get something for yourself as well.” He said with a big grin on his face.

“Uh, sure!” You replied following him. Could this be your escape from Kaji’s glare? Did he lose you in the crowd by now?

You approached the bar and waited on your drinks when you heard a gruff voice behind you and their body heat against your back. “Hey!” Kaji said with the same glare on his face.

“She has a boyfriend ya’ know.” He proceeded

“Oh, really?” The guy questioned.

“She does.” Kaji confirms. Kaji already made his point very clear to this man and you and his stance and the look on face had ‘do not fuck with me’ written all over it.

You closed your eyes in an attempt to disappear but this was actually happening.

“I dont actually.” You blurted out. “In fact-“ Kaji cut you off grabbing your waist and leading you out side of the bar.

“What the hell are you doing her-“

“Did you really think finding some random drunk guy here would solve all of your problems? What were you thinking? Did he try to get with you?”

“Kaji, that’s not what i was hoping would happen. The girls wanted me to go out with them just for tonight because I’ve declined every other time because it still just didn’t feel right to do something like this even though we aren’t together. You know just as much as i do that i never liked going out or drinking.”

“This dress looks really good on you by the way. It’s a shame i never got to see you in it til’ now.” He said rolling his eyes and completely disregarding what you said.

You blushed at his compliment and your heart began to flutter again. Gosh.. why does he have to have this effect on you. “Kaji, we need to talk.” You said, looking at the ground.

He lifted up your chin, so you’d look him in the eyes for what he was about to say. “I agreeI just want to start off by saying that you don’t know how hard these past few months have been for me. Losing you was one of the hardest things for me. I didn’t know how to cope. My friends tried to help me, but i pushed them away. Everythin’ everyday made me think of you and i was completely consumed with the idea that you were gone for good. I was obsessed with the thought of why we ended things the way we did and I felt like i couldn’t protect you as much as I’d like which drove me even more crazy. I lashed out on anyone that we’d get in fights with-exceeding my limits and going over board because i wanted to make sure people like them never got a hold of you. There’s so much more but i-“

You cut him off with a kiss and your eyes were filled with tears. You had the most intense feeling of regret and sorrow for him and also the mourning of your relationship. You wanted him back. You needed him just as much as he needed you. You wanted to make things right. He rested his hands on either side of your waist and you kissed you back-matching your passion.

“I’m so sorry, baby.” You pulled away from the kiss wiping your tears.

“It’s fine. missed you, y’ know?”

“I can’t ever lose you again. I knew we’d come back tho.” You managed to smile and even let out a giggle while saying.

and when aaron comes to pick jack up, you hand him and jack this picture back and start complimenting jack on his skills but aaron is at the side wondering if this could work again?? :( he’s afraid of falling in love because he’s not sure if he’ll be able to protect them or be there for them when in need, but seeing his son so happy again just makes his heart melt. he likes being around you too, noticing that he has been putting his guard down when you’re talking to him.

once you’re done, you gently pat the top of jack’s head and he giggles as he walks away holding his dad’s hand, waving goodbye to you before a small slip up — he says “bye mom”. you can tell aaron freezes up, unsure how to feel but you’re immediately calling out to both of them saying that kids do this all the time and its no big deal.

you pass jack a little sweet, hoping it’ll ease the embarrassment he’s feeling. aaron turns to watch as you interact with his son, smiling and patiently reassuring him that it’s okay and that’s when he blurts out an invitation to have dinner with him?? this man would be so direct with no frills whatsoever, and while you’re taken aback by how abrupt it was, you can tell that he’s a little embarrassed by it too — his cheeks are tinted pink and he watches you nervously before you say yes. you quickly scribble down your number and pass it to him before leaving to tend to the other kids and their parents, now before sending a quick wink to the both of them.

aaron’s heart is beating like crazy because there’s no way he just managed to do that but as he walked towards his car, he cant help but smile at the thought that things are finally looking better for him, and that maybe, it doesn’t have to be just the two of the hotchner boys anymore <3

and in the midst of it all, your eyes have catches his again just before he enters his car. the usual stoic face drops a little and you see a hint of a smile and something more. his cheeks are tinged with pink, his eyes a hurricane of emotions even if you're too far away to decipher which is the most dominant. jack calls out to him again and he awkwardly breaks out of the trance, looking at his son before shooting you a soft smile as he gets into his car after securing jack in his seat

this dinner would be perfect, he concludes in his head. seeing your beautiful face and seeing just how happy you make him and jack feel, it was going to be all okay.

I started reading a few months back and only recently have I fully caught up and when I say I’ve cried literally so much 😭 in the bathroom, in my bedroom, at the table 💀the list goes on

One thing that I just can’t seem to get over was Ambrose’s fate. To me there’s just so much mystery!! What exactly was he thinking in his last moments? Would he have forgiven yn? Did he feel guilty in the slightest for what he did/was doing, or was he too mentally skewed to comprehend? How long was he plotting and how did he and Markell even come together? Did he have no shame selling yn off to the guy who killed their parents (Ambrose was usually v protective over her)? What was yn’s exact reason for killing him, was it on impulse and did she end up regretting it??? UGHHH THERES JUST SM

Truly he’s grown to be my favourite character and it’s so sad seeing him end up like that. I can’t help but just wonder endlessly about what was going on in that hurt, damaged mind of his. Part of me likes to believe that all their deceased family has been reunited and that they’re not actually gone 🥲

i was going to address a lot of those questions in the book but i honestly rather leave it up to mystery and the readers. i love when i read a book and im left wondering about it for weeks after because there’s so much to think about… maybe that’s why a lot of my books are that way LOL

most importantly, the way ambrose found out markell and how they came together never gets revealed because (MAJOR SPOILERS) they’re both dead so the only two ppl in the world who know the answer can’t say it. it’s like the secret died with them and i like the sound of that in an odd way.

i had originally planned to insert a chapter from ambrose pov on how he found out and how he felt throughout but there was already SO MUCH going on in the book that mentally and emotionally, i didn’t have it in me to write such an INTENSE chapter (also don’t think you guys deserved it atp in time either)

to bring this to an end, i know a lot of ppl have so many questions but if the answer isn’t already in the book, it’s because i wanna leave it up to interpretation

for example : the whole phoenix and armin thing! it’s never said at all in the book that phoenix is gay or that he and armin start something together but it is hinted that armin has a thing for phoenix

a lot of ppl keep asking if phoenix feels the same way or if they ever end up together and the answer is ITS UP TO YOU it’s never going to say in the book (there’s literally only one more chapter left and i ain’t gonna spend it talking abt them little twinkle stars) so honestly it’s gonna be up to the readers interpretation!

Hi!! (sorry for the anon I'm paranoid lol) I was one of those sad anon asks you've gotten 2 years ago, one of those who were at their lowest point and didn't really know how long they could continue. I just wanted to say a very belated big thank you for the kind words back then. Life has changed for the better for me; after almost 30 years of being miserable I'm finally in the first real, stable relationship I've ever had, we'll be celebrating our 2 year anniversary next month! I've also found a really cool therapist and have been in therapy for over a year now which is also a first! And I'm finally receiving other official supports which were desperately needed. And I'm in a safe and overall welcoming living situation with my s/o. AND our cat (which used to be my closest friend back then haha) is healthy. So that's a whole lot of positive changes/news! Again, thank you from the bottom of my heart and I hope the next months are kind to you!! <3 (or... at least a restful sleep? Idk what to wish aaaaa-)

Im thinking of writing a book, do you have any tips to get started? Just planning out the plot, characters and whatnot

Ahh hi Nonnie! First off, absolutely huge compliment coming to me to give you tips on writing 🥺 my heart is so warm rn

I usually start off by opening Google docs and go with the vibes (actually though I do this 99% of the time)

I have a bunch of things written down in my notes app whether it be the plot or dialogue I plan on including. I do this especially when I know that it’s a piece that is going to acquire a lot of my attention and it helps me *stay* on track!

For BIAHD I have the most notes for simply bc it’s a hefty story but whenever I come up with a new idea I quickly write it down so I don’t lose it!

As for finding the plot, for me it’s also based on vibes of the story. Is this a romance? Is this angst? Is this on the lighter side? Sometimes the plot comes to me right away and other times it’ll take me days to get the plot figured out. (I find that stepping away is super helpful if you’re feeling stuck)

Also it’s good to have a list of writing tools at the ready such as a body language masterlist, prompts and a dictionary so you don’t find yourself overusing words!

My biggest advice is to write with your heart (as cheesy as it sounds) we all have our own creative voice and style of writing! Let yours shine through in the way that feels the most natural to you. Don’t feel pressured to write like everyone else does. Being unique is what makes us human! Also, I know it’s hard to not want to compare yourself to other writers but try and not do this because it’s very easy to get into the mindset of thinking your writing isn’t good! No negativity here 🤍

Finally, have fun! Write silly stories! Write sad stories! Write stories with tons of dialogue! Write stories with tons of descriptions! Write long stories! Write short stories! Write 800k of pure angst if your heart sings for it!

Most importantly, write for you 🫶🏻

Well... I don't know how to start myself! hehe, let's talk about my process, maybe that will give you some ideas

First, I start to imagine "scenarios", or "scenes" as I like to call them, scenes with conversations, or where reader does something badass, or anything really, it can be sad, happy, badass, nsotalgic, cool, ANYTHING! then I try to start picturing the events that led to that point or scene. who is MC? who are their parents? where did they came from? where is they going? this will open a fan of possibilities.

It will help you with a background story, and it will give you characters that will be and influence in their lives! and yous tart working from there

Where to start a story, is a tricky bit, the very first opening sentence, I take a lot of inspiration from movies or the very series, for example... what was the very first scene we got of Rhaenyra? her flying her dragon! that is a cool beginning!

I also love the movies and series with a chaotic rebellious MC so, I imagine them doing something they enjoy doing... or if its more dramatic I'd start right by the problem, or the very moment they are born if its relevant to the story. I'm writing a story when it starts even before their birth! its how Viserys sends her father to court and marry her mother! its relevant to the story!

Think about your favorite movies and series! that will help

Also... at first, it will be hard to "sow" everything together, like, the beginning with the scenes you draw in your mind, but let me tell you, it will start to make sense, and when it happens, its magical, like really... everything starts to click into place when you have a good MC and the characters around it, and the way they act. And if you have said scene in your mind, WRITE IT, leave it there and then it will come to be! believe me! I just put everything together with a very unlikely scene and it came to be really nicely.

YOU WILL feel like... pressured, and you don't know how to go from point A to point b, it happens to me a lot, I end up writing a few smaller "scenes" that when Im writing them its like, "why am I writing this? is this relevant?" and I do get away with it most times, it doesn't feel less useless though, but you will have to write some "filler" pieces, but everything is part of the story, all of it

Think about the fact that YOU are the one that is writing the story! we don't know anything about it! its all up to you and what YOU want to show us! you can do no wrong!

If you have two great "scenes" you really like... just make a cut, sometimes it is more dramatic, just...

. . .

And then another scene! jeje

Sometimes it also helps to get "lost" in reader's mind, like, write what they are feeling, what he thinks, how he/she perceives time and let time fly around the character, to slip from one scenario to the next, narrates what they are doing

I came to realize its very nice when MC had a background, a story where they are a kid, built a character, what are they relationship with her family? what do they want to do?

And fill that thing up!

Write everything that comes to mind! in ALL of my fics I have written scenes that takes me dozens of chapters to reach, WRITE IT ALL DOWN (I personally use drive, so they are safely stored in the cloud and it can correct my grammar, that's a tip), I have endings ready before they are beginnings, and that is part of my process

Writing everyhitng down helps, to where you want to take the story

I have started stories with no clear end, and that is also fine, a bit confusing for you, but just... let it rip! like Beyblade

I hope this helps! you can also, if you have the time and means, to make a nice header to the story to set a tone, It's fun for me, but i'm a designer so... jajaja a nice collage! pinterest can become your best friend!

best advice i can give is that you have to stop worrying about things you can’t control.

you’re only responsible for your actions and the things you can control in this world. and i know it’s hard and of course your first instinct is to stress over it, but you can’t control his feelings but you can control how you respond to his lack of interest and you have every right to feel sad and want to cry, and you should if that helps but at some point you have to remember that you live life for yourself.

i’m positive you’ll get through this but also you shouldn’t stress over someone who can’t adequately communicate their feelings with you, whether he likes you or not.

i hope you have a better day lovie 🤍
