okay SO! yes, because batb 2017 changed the parameters of the curse, it’s up to us to decide his age! i actually decided a while ago that i would make him 21. this was mainly to honor batb 1991, but i also like that he was young. and you didn’t ask this, but i headcanon belle is 20. they’re a couple of youngin’s!! belle turned 20 in may, the movie takes place in june, and adam will turn 22 in august. SO yes he was 21 when he was cursed, and just 21 the whole time. that’s just my timeline for ya. i think belle is surprised to learn how close in age they are, when adam inevitably reveals his age to her when they’re courting. i think adam has Always been old for his age. (caused by childhood trauma and also just his personality) and i’m sure being cursed sort of “aged” him a bit too. something i love about them is that while belle is mature for her age as well, she is also able to bring out the child in him. he laughs with her, they play with and tease each other. they’re best friends, always. so he IS young, but he’s never really matched his actual age. life’s been difficult for him, despite the royal status :(

as for the timeframe of the curse, yeah that works!! i’m not too fussy about how many months exactly it has been, but i think six months is a solid number, and a storm in january makes just as much sense as anything. some day, when i’m feeling extra insane, i want to develop my own formula for how time compares in and out of the curse. like one real day equals one curse week, or something like that. i’ll do that some day lol. but for now i’m just vague about it. they were under the curse for MONTHS (six works nicely) and it FELT like a couple/few YEARS. belle was at the castle for five days (according to gaston), so how long did it FEEL like she was there? i think her and adam spent weeks, maybe months, falling in love. once she spent the night there, i think she fell into their frozen timeline as well. (maurice doesn’t experience it because he doesn’t sleep there!) which is kind of cool!! i love writing extra scenes that happen during the curse, because in my view, a lot more time passes in that period. which is evident (to me) in the nature of their rapport and dynamic. they don’t seem like two people who have only known each other for 5 days, do they? :”)

as to your lamentations, i can only sympathize. while i do love and respect batb 1991, it really has some frustrating plotholes for people who like digging into lore & canon. and i hate to start up comparisons, but i’ll just say i’m quite thankful for everything batb 2017 does to button up those issues. the ten years thing is rough, because that IS was 91 lumiere says! i’d have a hard time refuting that, myself. as you may have noticed, i’m quite the canon girlie lmao. i think lumiere was just being dramatic and hyperbolic, which lends to 17 lumiere singing “too long” instead of “ten years” — which i am so thankful for. the 21 years is… ludicrous? i have no idea how people could get there. maybe they think adam was cursed from birth ??? ugh. don’t get me started on people who forget that he was born a human being, AND DESERVES TO BE A HUMAN BEING AFTER THE CURSE IS LIFTED. i’ll blow a fuse. anyway!!

the enchantress being belle’s mother theory is i BELIEVE from a book that’s like batb but with a twist? i think there’s a whole series of books that are disney movies with wild twists. and for the batb one, it’s that her mother was the enchantress. i’m not ever going to read that, because it’s ridiculous, and canon is my beloved best friend that doesn’t need changing. but yeah i think that’s where that comes from. whateva. i have lots of lovely lore about belle’s beloved mama already💜

straight up i think period-induced anxiety is the worst. like i have gad so im already anxious constantly but it normally settles at a not-great-but-manageable background hum if that makes sense? but when im on my period that shit goes from like a casual 4/10 to a fucking 14/10 sometimes.

ill be already a lil spooked about x or y thing on a normal day but when im on my period? i cant fucking sleep because im thinking about it and my chest is getting tight and i can feel my heart rate kick up and i roll over and get on my phone to distract myself and yet i know im distracting myself so the distraction doesnt really work and on and on until its three am and i pass tf out

its more manageable when im at work, right, because theres Stuff To Do at work. there a Job Tasks and then Job Distractions which are, in their own way, a different form of job task to me. is it the same fanfic i opened the night before to read but couldnt get through because my stupid, chemical deficient, hormone-addled brain wont let me focus on it? yes. is it different now because im at work and work is an entirely different vibe so now i can get through that story (and maybe a few others depending on length)? also yes!

anxiety example: my boss texted me last night, or i guess now that its gone past midnight would it be the night before last?, and said (frankly very ominously? like even without the anxiety disorder it would be spooky methinks) “call me before you go in tomorrow” and i was like “oh shit oh fuck what did i do i dont think i did anything i mean i had a weird hiccup with counting the drawer out at the end of the shift because i was doing 18.50 in my head instead if 17.50 so i had an overhang of a dollar and so maybe me messing with the dollar while i was trying to figure out what happened showed up and looked weird on the cameras and she saw it and she wants to talk to me about it???” and so that morning i did all my get-ready things and went back into my room, grabbed one of my stuffies for emotional support in the same way i do to make dentist appoints and shit, and bravely called my boss

and then. she said she just wanted to check on if it would be safe to have us open the store because of the snow that night. she lives in the next town over where it snowed a lot (7.5 inches. she stuck a ruler in it and sent me a picture later lol) and wanted to check on road conditions and just a general vibe on it f whether people would be out and about (it snowed in my town 3 inches. if im being generous. most of it melted off before noon. according to my boss, it continued to try and snow where she was on and off all day. what a wild difference like ten miles does to the weather!).

i got so so so scared over like a dollar worth of figured out before i left the building confusion that my boss wanting to just. be a good person. was like nowhere in my thought process.

what Also happened today was that we have little paper slips that go into the drawers so you know what amount theyre supposed to be tallying out to when you count them next to know if everything is good or not. the paper said $150.65. i counted that fucker like six times, did the math on two different calculators three times to make sure it wasn’t me mis-hitting a decimal or something, and discovered it was actually at $155.65. five whole dollars. like im sure for a target thats not a big deal — still noticeable and youd absolutely get yelled at but like big picture and all — but for us thats a decent chunk! this woman simply does not double check anything she does regarding the cash drawers and it outrages me.

ALSO ALSO yesterday i counted out my drawer and it ended on like $150.30. within the boundaries. she put it in for the when the other closer came in. i left at 2:30, this other girl came in at 6:30, so somewhere in that four hours she recounted the drawer. we have a binder we write our numbers in for ~Accountability~. she wrote and initialed that it was at the $150.30 i counted it out to. this drawer, for the three or so hours its running that evening, handles no cash. written in the binder it has a big ol NO CASH written through in the Cash In and Deposited sections. the drawer closed at $150.75. where??? did that extra??? .45¢ come from??? and like what a weird amount too! thats not a two-quarter whoopsie, thats a whole mess of coins. four dimes and a nickel. a quarter and two dimes. other combinations im too tired to list. and like when i counted it that next morning it was at that $150.75. which is impressive, as the last time a NO CASH she wrote that had different starting and ending numbers, it turned out that there wasnt actually a difference, and that the original starting number was in fact still the amount in there. her ending number was also off by like .37¢ or something that time so like.

OKOK i love this so much and i want to actually explain some of the biology thats going on here cuz finally i found a tumblr post that has to do with my special interest! There isn’t much actual research on this area of trans health and im by no means an expert on this at all so please take what I say with a grain of salt :p

So basically- most people, regardless of sex, produce gonadotropins (type of hormones) from the pituitary gland in their brain. There are two types of gonadotropins: FSH (Follicle Stimulating Hormone) and LH (Leutinizing Hormone). These are the hormones responsible for starting the menstrual cycle by 1) stimulating the follicles in the ovaries to start growing eggs (courtesy of FSH) and 2) getting the mature egg to ovulate (courtesy of LH). For males, these hormones have different jobs: stimulating the seritoli cells in the testes to produce ABP aka Androgen Binding Protein (courtesy of FSH), and stimulating the leydig cells to produce testosterone (courtesy of LH) (also this is the primary source of natural testosterone in males); and then these substances bind together (testosterone is a type of androgen or male sex hormone which binds to ABP like the name suggests) in order to begin producing sperm.

However, when a trans woman takes testosterone blockers, the cells’ testosterone receptors are blocked and the binding cannot happen, at least not as much— which is why sperm production often decreases or stops entirely while on HRT. Plus, with feminizing replacement hormones, testosterone production (typically initiated by LH) starts to go down and estrogen + progesterone goes up, and now you start to see a hormone cycle that looks more similar to that of a cis woman.

Normally, when you have a uterus and a menstrual cycle, estrogen and progesterone are (mostly) produced in the ovaries throughout the egg-growing process: estrogen is produced by the developing follicle (which is growing the egg) and progesterone is produced by the Corpeus Luteum, aka the broken remains of the follicle after it ovulates and the egg bursts out of there. Throughout the egg-growing process, the follicle continues producing more and more estrogen, which travels to the brain and basically serves as a meter to track the progress of the egg’s growth (technically theres multiple eggs growing at once and only the most mature egg gets ovulated but i wanna keep things simple for this explanation) and once estrogen levels reach a certain high point thats what triggers the release of LH and causes ovulation— resulting in the Corpues Luteum from the remains which begins producing a bunch of progesterone. Both estrogen and progesterone serve to prepare the inner lining of the uterus for the implantation of a fertilized egg— estrogen starting that process during egg development and progesterone continuing that process after ovulation (as well as some extra stuff for the benefit of the potential fetus).

Period cramps in general have not been studied enough so we don’t know everything but the working consensus for your typical period cramps are that they are caused by prostaglandins— hormone-like substances produced by most organs and tissues all throughout the body with a wide range of effects, inculding to help shed the uterine lining during a period by binding to natural prostaglandin receptors in the uterus and causing contractions (they are released by the uterine lining itself in response to a drop in progesterone after the fertile window passes and the Corpeus Luteum degenerates). This is the same process that causes contractions during labor and its why the feelings are often described as being similar (albiet one far more painful than the other in most cases lol). This is also why ibuprofen works against cramps, since they block the prostaglandin receptors.

Thats not the only way or time you can get period cramps though. Some people get certain physical and/or emotional symptoms before their actual bleeding starts due to the hormonal processes i described earlier during the egg developing process. Remember the estrogen and progesterone i mentioned that peaks when the egg becomes fully matured and ovulates? Well estrogen, as you probably know, causes swelling of the breasts, and thats why some people can have bloated, tender, or tight/painful breasts for a bit before their period. And thats only one the potential symptoms of these various hormonal fluctuations; there’s loads others, both physical and emotional, such as cravings, anxiety/depression, loss of appetite, fatigue, acne, lack of concentration, irritability, nausea, the list goes on and on and includes, yes, ✨cramps.✨

This is called Premenstrual Syndrome, or PMS. You’ve probably heard of it before, and if youve gone through it you probably know what it feels like. Not everyone experiences it and even those who do don’t experience it all the time, but it makes sense that trans women on HRT would be able to. Despite not having ovaries where most estrogen and progesterone would normally come from, as long as someone gets those hormones from somewhere else (HRT) they pretty much have everything else they need already in their bodies. When cis women get hysterectomies they often still have their ovaries— the source of their estrogen and progesterone— so they still have PMS symptoms and cycles despite not having periods. We don’t know much about this in trans women. There has not been anywhere close to enough research. But with the influx of estrogen and the blocking of testosterone it makes sense that the body would adapt and begin the cycles it was made to do based on the hormones available, just like cis women do without a functioning uterus. Afterall its not like the replacement hormones from HRT would remain static and consistent, we have hormonal regulatory systems (pituitary gland) for a reason. I just think its so amazing and beautiful how all of this fits together. How when you really take a look at reproductive biology, the sex your assigned at birth just melts away.

Buttons is actually one of the ship building crew who periodically returns to piracy whenever he gets bored, and they roll with it bc he brings back cool stuff for them. He got paid extra for this, and he was itching for the sea again anyway.

After they shake hands, he assures Stede that Karl, sat atop his head, also comes with him and the ship, so it's a hell of a deal for that alone (and he's right.)

Scenario Two:

Stede is sat on the beach, staring at his new ship in the water, too terrified to try and crew her alone (one of his most self aware moments right then lmaooo)

Buttons is only passing through, was waiting on the beach for night to fall so he could go get a drink and food at the pub without attracting too much attention

But he sees this sad man. this poor little meow meow. This teal like a tear drop be-suited fancy lad who is staring at the ship in the water like he wants to hug her.

He walks over and asks for Stede's story. It's not as sad as he'd expected (sort of figured maybe the ship was full of a dead or dying crew), but. This fucking guy.

He asks Karl for his advice, and they decide if Stede will buy them a meal, they'll join his crew and help him get started.

Stede immediately dumps two days worth of wages into Buttons' hands and offers to buy him anything he wants for dinner, and Karl too.

Buttons decides right then and there that between the money and how painfully earnest this man is, he'll not just get him started as a pirate, but stick around.

Besides, Karl likes him.

At first? Kind of a selfish ass. Not directly, but he gets obviously a lil ticked when MC is significantly slower than everyone else. Like this is inconvenient for him, almost feels like MC is doing it on purpose.

Mostly thinks about how it's an inconvenience, how humans are delicate and weak, but as his relationship with MC grows, he's a lot more interested in WHY mc is so fatigued. How does it feel for them?

Will at some point gets the guts to ask. Wouldn't before though because he wouldn't want it to look like he's super interested in MC, but once he accepts that he's in love? Oh boy.

He'll add extra time in the schdule from now on, at least a couple minutes so he and MC can walk at a more leisurely pace. It's hard for him to adjust, because he's usually striding, fairly quickly.

Grows to kind of enjoy it? Taking things slow. It's a nice change for him, but it's a lot of how he shows that he cares. The breaks, stopping to "look" at a shop window when he hears MC breathing a little heavier or when they start to slow down a little more, trudging instead of walking.

Does a fair amount of research on human conditions. If it's a medical condition or not, he'll do what he can to support you. May even assist on your weeks being half online, half in person? So you could have more rest time. It would ensure that Dia's favorite exchange student is preforming to the best of their ability with their accessibility needs being met!!

Will pick you up from the couch and put you in your bed. Sometimes his. Wink.

Mammon

I think Mammon, even originally, was really interested in MC at first glance. He's got a weird protective need? Like must nurture,,,, human,,,

Will keep walking until he realizes MC didn't respond to what he said. Then turns around are sees MC quite a bit behind him and he's confused. Why are they so slow?

Will ask MC, "are most humans so slow?" But doesn't seem malicious about it at all, it's a genuine question. He's had limited contact with humans and they've never really walked anywhere.

Will pick MC up, or tells MC to jump on his back. Doesn't ask, but squats down and gestures.

Will poke fun at MC unless they seem upset about it. Doesn't really mind how slow they are though, it's just an adjustment period for a while.

On bad days, he'll absolutely help if you ask. He'll bring food and water, by himself, but has trouble thinking of other ways to help without being asked specifically. Probably picks up their homework too, small tasks that they mention.

He's not likely to ask you directly, you'll have to bring up the serious conversation. He just accepts the fatigue as part of MC, doesn't consider that its not normal or is a medical issue? He's willing to put in more effort if you ask though, if he can make things easier for you? He's in. Tries to condense your hang outs too, like the places you go, just so you do the least amount of walking possible.

Overall, 8/10 support.

You're walking to RAD together on a day for a student counsel meeting, the first time he's been out with you, and after a couple minutes of rambling he realizes you've fallen behind?

"Do you not walk to walk with me?" Genuinely a little dejected, feels bad and realizes he's done ALL the talking??

Hopefully you say something like, "no no I love walking with you, I just get so so tired so fast," because he'll respond fairly well. "Oh okay," and then moves on, walking significantly slower. If you watch, you'll notice him looking over and at his feet more often, seems like he's checking his pace?

Once he realizes more so how bad your fatigue gets, and you both grow closer, he'll make more of an effort to leave his own room and go to yours. When he's super uncomfortable, he'll at least meet you at your room to walk you to his room. So you can have company.

Does try to go out of his way to make things easier. Also probably brings it up weeks/months later. Asks you if it's normal. Probably brings it up when your symptoms are especially bad one day, or when you're so tired and cant keep your eyes open.

Isn't one to consider it a burden. It's definitely a change because his legs are a lot longer so he's natrually faster, but he learns to take smaller steps.

Satan

Similarly to Lucifer, feels inconvenienced. His first thoughts are only about himself, only starts thinking about why, how, the details once he gets closer with you.

It's a sudden relevation once he gets the hint that you might feel embarrassed or like a burden? Switches up pretty fast. He's slightly fatigued after his "episodes" for lack of better word, but he imagines its maybe similar to what you experience?

You're sitting in the library, and suddenly he pipes up and asks you. "Is there a reason you're so tired all the time? Why does walking bother you so much?" And as you explain, his curiosity is satiated for the time being. He's silent for a minute after you respond, then, "is it embarrassing?"

Offers some casual reassure once you respond. Tells you that you shouldn't be embarrassed, and that you should accept the things you can't change.

"Would it help if I walked slower from now on? Or would walking be easier if I went with you to and from your classes?" It's a secret plot to spend time together.

He's unlikely to bring you food, but almost has a ritual of bringing you a water bottle every time? Like a human world water bottle? Not sure where he got them. If you inquire about it, he'll tell you that he read how staying hydrated is very helpful for your condition.

Is insistant on the water thing. Also, when you go to the library together, he'll have a small area set up so you can sit while he looks, your stuff is ready and he'll bring you back a book or two with a small flush on his face.

Beelzebub

Notices as you start to slow down, but isn't concerned really, just starts walking slower. But once you start barely moving, he's holding his arm around you until you get to the next bench on the pathway. Belphie had similar issues when they first fell, so the switch to walking slower is much easier for him than anyone, though is now curious as to why you, a human, are having the same issue.

"Did you not eat enough today?" Once you chuckle at him and explain, he's still thinking about food. "Would eating more help?" "Not really, I just get super tired and need more sleep later."

When you hang out, in the kitchen, at school, anywhere outside of your room, he's ready to head home by like, 8pm. He doesn't say it, but he assumes you need to be in bed super early. He's willing to settle for 10, but any later than that and he feels morally responsible for your fatigue.

He gets used to you sleeping in his bed though. He's totally going to get a blanket and a pillow for you and set it near/in the kitchen. He wants to cook but he'd also like to hang out, but you also need sleep, so this is his comprimise.

You both become cuddle partners very fast. It starts with hanging out, and then you fall asleep in his bed and he sleeps on the floor. Once you wake up in the middle of the night and force him back into the bed, he's very stiff for like, a hot minute until you snuggle up to him and doze off.

His help is mostly going to be sustinence. He'll bring you something small from when he goes to eat, or he'll pick up any extra work you have. Is also constantly ready to carry you where ever you'd like. Piggy back rides to RAD? Sure, where do you need dropped off?

💘 Tyrion Date HC

Once Tyrion really starts liking you, he takes you to the loveliest places. We’re talking walks through gardens with little ponds and animals, a covered boat ride on a river, or walking through an exciting market full of Essosi traders. The thing is, he’d never call this “courting”. That makes it too official, too serious. He plays it off as simple visits two friends would make.

He’s excellent at finding out the things you’re interested in. You aren’t aware of it, but Tyrion really pays attention to what you respond to and what you like the most. I mean, he’s already watching you because he loves you, but if you aren’t vibing with an activity and location he’ll take that into consideration for next time.

He has lots of fun experiencing new things with you, period - after you’re together, after you’re married. If he finds out about something new, he’ll tell you so you both can do it together.

Tyrion prefers more private locations, since the court is exhausting and nearly all people he meets don’t like him anyway... but there’s something exciting about having such a pretty girl on his arm, someone who clearly adores him and wants to spend time with him.

Gifts! You tell him he doesn’t have to, but he likes presenting you with little things at the beginning or end of a date. First it’s practical things, so he can brush it off as “You seemed like you could use that”, before it’s just outright pretty jewels and dresses and he has no excuse. At that point it’s because he clearly loves you.

When it’s your name day, he has such a great evening planned out. If you’re married, make that a weekend or a week to travel and enjoy a little mini-vacation. Tyrion is excellent at planning an event in secret, so you have no idea what he has in store until the morning of your birthday.

In a modern AU, he’s not too different - he wants to explore new places and new things. He’d probably live in a city and would always find the strangest hole in the wall places to eat and shop at. If you like books, or records, or clothes, he’s gonna find something really out of the way and specific.

💖Tyrion Pregnancy HC

From the time you announced your pregnancy to the entire 9 months, it was like the worst emotional whiplash he’s ever had. There are SO many thoughts going through his head. Some of them are:

One, he’s delighted you want to have a family with him. Yes, you two are married, but it’s not out of duty to the Lannisters. It’s the ultimate proof you love him, he decides - because there’s a real chance your child could turn out like him, and you don’t care. And he knows you’ll love the child if that happens. He just knows you’ll be a wonderful mother. Second, you clearly express your joy to his family and the courtiers. You’re proud and you don’t care who knows. Third, he thinks about how horrid his own upbringing was, and he’s absolutely 100% determined to be an excellent father. Fourth ...

You get the point. He’s so torn between worry - what if the child is born with a problem, what if you die in childbed, what if he turns out to be a terrible father - and absolute, unbelievable devotion. You thought he was protective and doting before? Nothing is too good for you. You have to tell Tyrion to dial it back a bit, you don’t need new clothes every month and ten sets of silken bedsheets and all this jewelry....

He’s a bundle of nerves the closer the due date is. You two might actually get into spats because you’re exhausted and achey, and he’s just a mess. Jaime actually has to knock sense into him and get him to calm down.

But once your child is born...  it all washes away, like a wave carrying him. He’s so happy. He can’t even function. He wants the hold the child all the time, he wants to see them, talk to them - and he asks so many questions to you and the maester. When will the child talk? When will they walk? Can they understand him? Do they know he’s their father? And so on.

Also, his protectiveness would go through the roof. He would never forbid you from going anywhere or doing anything, but.. he would be obviously nervous if you mentioned you were going travelling or something. 

And it goes without saying he’s keeping extra tabs on Cersei, certain courtiers, maybe his own father. He doesn’t trust any of them for anything.

Bronn will probably get assigned to bodyguard duty for you. He’s clearly not pleased, and you just sigh and dismiss him for the day so you don’t have to listen to his smart mouth.

He likes to feel your stomach, especially when the babe kicks! It relieves his worries that the child might be born “wrong” somehow. The fact they’re kicking, wiggling and moving, seemingly in response to him, makes him feel much better.

💐 Tyrion Family & Kids HC

He’s an excellent father, even though he has his moments of emotional hang-ups. He wants to ensure his child is educated, empathetic and uses their damn head. While he’d be doting and affection, he wouldn’t be a total pushover and can reasonably discipline them. Tyrion is great at talking to children respectfully and treating them like people.

On that note, he has no patience for someone like Cersei or his father trying to butt in on his parenting. He’ll stand up to them and firmly insist he can raise his child on his own, thank you. He won’t take any “advice” or threats from them.

He’d be quite good at figuring out what his children are talented in, and encouraging them. He’s seen what it’s like when a child is forced into a single box and hinge all their worth on that (Jaime) and when they’re looked over and ignored (him and Cersei). 

Yes, he basically decides to do the opposite of whatever his father did.

There would be times when he’d want to educate his children himself, but only on certain subjects - reading and writing, for example. He trusts the maester just fine, he just wants to have that bonding opportunity with them. 

(He’s so proud of all of them no matter what though 😭)

If you’d be up for it, Tyrion would like several children. He’s not 100% on how many, since he’s never really given himself a chance to hope and daydream for a family. He knows he needs a son for the Lannister line to continue, but he’d never force you to continue risking your health for that. Ultimately, however many you want, that’s what he’ll be happy with. If it’s all girls, he’ll love them the same.

💘 Jaime Date HC

It’s actually amusing how bad he is at taking you somewhere interesting. It ends up being an accident - you run into him in a beautiful garden or some obscure part of the Red Keep, and he offers to show you something interesting he found. From there, you two get lost and take a while to find your way back.

... Or you take him somewhere you thought was interesting, and he goes along with it. When you point out that Jaime is pretty bad at this “courting” business, he just scoffs and says that’s definitely not what he’s doing. He’s just visiting with ... a friend ... .... just a friend. Yup.

Another aspect is the fact he’s a Whitecloak, and he might be having to avoid Cersei. That kind of makes things dicey.

However, when he returns from the Dreadfort and that absolute hell of a journey, he’s doesn’t care so much who sees you two. He wants to get away from the Red Keep, even if that’s his duty, so he starts wandering out with you. When Jaime is patrolling on his own and sees a place of interest, he makes a mental note to bring it up to you later. And when he does, and you offer to go with him ... Well, he won’t complain.

Since you two have been so many places, he starts to associate them with you. When he’ll pass by it on his own, he thinks about something you laughed at, or something you told him there. If you ever touched his hand or his face while you two visited a garden, he will remember that touch every single time he passes by. 

After you’ve known each other for a while, and he’s feeling sentimental, he’ll ask, “Do you remember those docks a mile away from the Red Keep? There was a man pushing a cart that had these colorful glasses and wares. You were wearing a blue dress, and when you dirtied it, I carried you around down the street?”

You have no idea where he’s talking about, but that’s the sort of road his memory lane is.

In the modern AU, he’s still pretty terrible at dates. He’s more of the type who wants to wander around with you and just pop into a place that seems interesting - and then he’ll associate you with it. Anytime he sees that cafe chain again, even in a different city, he remembers the hot cocoa you ordered and the little marshmallow mustache you gave yourself.

And honestly, he prefers to stay home with you, cuddling and watching something. He can be as bad as a needy cat when he wants cuddles and attention; you aren’t escaping anytime soon.

💖Jaime Pregnancy HC

Oh no.

Back when Jaime was a boy and lectured endlessly on the duties of a Lannister heir, he didn’t truly understand what that meant. Especially after Cersei coerced him into taking the white cloak, he figured he’d never have children of his own.

... Well. Then there was three. but they never felt like his, which was Cersei’s intention. It was so strange, even if they looked like him, he couldn’t connect Joffrey, Myrcella and Tommen to himself.

Also, look who his father is. That’s a lot to unpack.

It’s not until he’s completely left Cersei and lost his sword hand that he starts thinking and seeing things differently. It feels different when you play with the children, when you look longingly at mothers, when he’s intimate with you and you let him finish inside. He starts thinking what it’s like, and that’s scary, considering it never crossed his mind before.

And then he thinks about how his mother died, and what it did to his father. He never openly discusses it with you, but he has nightmares about it. Jaime doesn’t sleep well for a lot of your pregnancy, especially toward the last few months. He does a little better with each child. To distract himself, he takes care of you.

He likes the idea of having two children, a boy and girl, or two boys, but he’s fine with one or more than two. Anything more than four would probably overwhelm him.

Gods save the person who threatens you, even if it’s his sister. His protective instincts go into overdrive, to the point where someone being disrespectful to you on the street will make him want to fight.

💐 Jaime Family & Kids HC

When you tell him, honestly... his first thought is what an awful parent he’d be. He had one example for what a father is like, and he was hardly an influential part in the lives of the three children he sired. You’d have to reassure Jaime and give him confidence, because he has none where this is concerned. He’s positive he’ll screw it up somehow, he’ll be too distant, or too cruel. How do you even hold a baby? What do you say to little ones? He’s going to take care of you, there’s no question of that, but his nervousness is palpable. 

Still, he has such a cute smile when he holds his child - what he considers his first real one - and he right away sees you in them. Their nose, and smile, and eyes. It’s amazing, he decides.

Jaime is a terribly indulgent father. He tries to scold where he can, but more often than not he’s amused by his kid being mischievous. When they pull pranks on guests or get into fights with other kids, he’ll let them off easy if he felt like it was justified. If you’re the more disciplinary parent, the kids totally learn to go to Jaime when they want something.

He’s not overly physically affectionate, but he often ruffles their hair (even if they’re a girl with hair you just braided), gives them rides on his shoulders and lets them sit on his lap and fall asleep. He also has a habit of patting their cheeks or shoulders when he’s pleased.

Jaime didn’t think he’d be excited to teach swordplay and horseback, but he’s so happy when one of his kiddos is interested in both or either. Even if they’re a girl, he can’t help but teach her everything he knows. It also makes him feel better that he has something to teach and pass on even if he lost his sword hand.

Also ... he’s a terrifying papa lion. Do not ever even slightly threaten his children or wife in front of him. His temper and pride will flare and he’ll start a fight right there. 

Related to that, he can fight off Cersei’s cruelty and coldness to you and your children together because he knows how to deal with her. If Tywin disapproved of you in some way, or was trying to take control of how the children were reared, Jaime would genuinely struggle to stand up to him. He doesn’t want his kids to go through the childhood he had, but it’s difficult for him. He won’t go into full “fuck this” mode unless the children are seriously threatened.

Oh yeah, I knew about the W movie, since I’m subscribed to the Toei YT channel lol. This is actually the 2nd time they posted it- iirc they also posted it when they first announced Fuuto PI being turned into an anime, earlier this year I believe? Or late last year?

And yes, Shoutaro really does pass out like that. Even in the show. Man’s gotta be extra.

Honestly my favorite Shoutaro moment is also from A to Z- namely, the first time he henshins and fights as Kamen Rider Joker. The suit just looks so slick and sexy, it’s my favorite Rider suit period. His one liner right before he henshins is so awesome. His finishers and poses referencing Ichigou himself just takes the cake. And of course him just fighting his way up Fuuto Tower like a friggin’ Disney prince... *fans self*

And I loved it when the boys showed up in Movie War Megamax. Shoutaro and Gentaro’s meeting was just so wholesome...

Currently reading: I'm reading the Queen's Gambit !! I watched the show on Netflix months ago and decided to buy the book. Honestly? I really love it lol. I've read through it pretty quickly, although I'm not quite done yet. I like the writing style and the narration just moves so well. I never thought chess could be so interesting.

I must say though, I've been speed-reading it so that I could read Don Quixote lol. I love reading a lot but I don't find the time so often because I have soooo many other hobbies, but when I start reading a book and really like it, I'm glued to it.

I haven't read any fanfics in awhile just bc I haven't felt the urge to read them. I go through periods where fanfiction is just uninteresting to me. Mostly its because the one thing I want to read fanfiction for doesn't have anymore for me to read!! curse sf9s permanent nugu status.

Also started reading this Chinese bl novel? it reads a little weird because its a translation but I suppose it isn't too bad. not exactly interesting but just something to pass the time.

Last song: I believe it was Rush Hour by Monsta X. I love that song lol. Tbh I only really listen to Kpop, not much else. Thats just the kind of person I am tho!! Once I get into something I stick with it until I can't take it anymore. Last non-Kpop song I remember listening to is rises the moon by Liana Flores. It's very calming and I really adore her voice.

Last series: I've been watching adventure time lately. I enjoy kids cartoons a lot but the motivation to watch adventure time was bc of the lesbians lol <3 they're cute.

Last Kdrama I watched was probably a rewatch of SFH but I just started this ballet one on Netflix that I can't remember the name of. OH I also recently watched Tinted With You but I didn't finish it because I found it to be a little boring.

Sweet, savory, or spicy: SPICY!! I love spicy food sm. I'd have to put sweet and savory on equal levels bc I like them both!!

Currently working on: Hmmm. A few things! Some long term things I'm working on:

1. Finishing high school! I have one semester left and its kicking my ass.

2.My mental health! I have very severe depression and anxiety and I recently started going to therapy! I also started using anti-depressants and they've helped!!

3. My Kpop collections. I spend a ridiculous amount of money on Kpop merch because I'm collecting a lot of different groups!

My current photo card collections: OT9 SF9, 3 members of NCT, 1 member of Monsta X (and some ot5/6/7 sets bc they're cute), a few enhypen pcs, and 1 member from Seventeen!

Short term things:

1. Writing Fanfics. I'm working on one of the requests I was given and I'm having a lot of fun! I'm excited to do the other one as well! I'm also writing an sf9 fanfic bc im sooooo emo about the lack of sf9 fics on ao3.

2.Selling a bunch of extra Kpop stuff I've hoarded for like 2 years.

Favorite season: So. This is a little funny. I'm originally from Hawaii!! Which is of course pretty hot year round. However, my favorite season is actually winter! I have a hard time handling the heat. I get really bad migraines and I constantly get sick when I overheat and it just sucks. I now live in the southern US which is either HOT or mildly cold. We had a 30 degree day and the next day it was 75 out and humid as hell. I like winter bc its just waaaay more comfortable.

My girl @safarigirlsp has been wonderful about reminding me to work on a super slutty NSFW oneshot for the AU, I’ll try and get that written up for everyone once these chapter WIPs go up! :) 

Closest Friends would have be the Huxes. Lord Armitage and his dear wife Lady Hux are the closest friends that the Rens have. Lady Hux and Lady Ren were friends long before either were married to their respective gentlemen, and funny enough, the gentlemen were acquainted long before that too! Her Highness Gwendoline Phasma is another dear friend, Princess of Parnassos, another small island nation much like that of Naboo. She is good friends with Lord Hux, which is how she meets the Rens. You and her and Lady Hux become fast and close friends! She invites you to all sorts of royal shenanigans over on her island lol. 

The Rens are pretty well acquainted with a lot of people, but those are the small knit group who all go traveling together lol. 

The Rens are always hosting events and get togethers! There are so many charity banquets to donate money to the local schoolhouses, orphanages, and synagogues that sit near and on Kylo’s land. Money is also raised for the women’s suffragette movement! 

Other than for charity though, the Rens love to host dignitaries, members of parliament, and members of the royal family (both Nabooian and British) at their estate. If someone is passing through and traveling, they will always extend an offer for dinner and to stay in one of the guest wings! They attend balls and galas frequently, and during the London Season, they are always present at the most important ballets, operas, horse races, and parties. 

More lowkey though, they love to have their friends visit and stay with them for short periods of time, playing croquet on the lawn, horse riding and rowboat paddling, jovial times all around!

omg thank you SO MUCH for asking and i apologize in advance for the infodump because i have been thinking about these alien plant people for literal years now, i love them so much. I first started thinking about these guys a little after TFA, because of an oc i was working on for a lil star wars fic that i have mostly abandoned by now--so sorry to the like 3 people who were reading my sidon ithano fic but tlj/tros really killed whatever passion i had for the franchise for a good long time :/ but Mando is great so i've been thinking about them'st again...

anyway i am sticking this under a cut because a) im very attached to these characters and if someone steals my shit i will kermit and b) sweet jesus this got so long, i am so sorry

in the SW universe at least, these plant people (that i still for the life of me cannot settle on an actual name for) were the primary inhabitants of a dwarf planet way out in wild space; they had a pretty symbiotic relationship with a race of sentient insectoid people (basically human-sized bees) who could travel between the planet and their home on one of its three moons (affectionately called the Honey Moon). what the plants didn’t know was that the bees were also able to travel to different planets, and had been doing so for a couple centuries before everything went to shit--but we’ll get to that in a bit.

the plant people weren’t particularly interested in the galaxy around them--they had a decent understanding of astronomy and cosmology, but little cultural interest in journeying to the stars. since the planet was pretty small and distant from the galactic core, it was pretty rare that a visiting ship would even pass them by, and scanners didn’t register them as genuine life-forms separate from the natural flora, so even if someone happened to end up out there it’s not the sort of place anyone would really choose to land. on rare occasions, a pirate or smuggler would try to hide out on what they thought to be an unoccupied planet, and would return to the Outer Rim with tales of mobile, sentient trees and bizarre, organic cities found on some uncharted world; likewise, occasionally a plant person would turn up at the local bar with tales of crashed space-ships and strange aliens that seemed almost like people. neither would ever be taken seriously.

the plants aren’t a particularly verbal people. they understand spoken language (a somewhat-modified Basic, at least, which is what the bees speak hmm i wonder where they picked that up from) and many can talk, but most don’t really bother learning to do so. mostly they rely on an ESP-like combo of pheromones and body language, highly attuned to the point that it’s essentially a kind of telepathy. i think i mentioned in the tags on that post that my character Antheia is sorta kinda a jedi? for these people, force sensitivity tends to manifest as an extra-extra-sensory-perception that causes you to be hyperaware of every living thing in your environment, not just the other sentient ones.

this made her uhhh extremely off-putting as a youth, easily distractable and often disinterested in the other people in the small community she grew up in, where she was already pretty disliked to begin with. there’s quite a lot of diversity among the plant people (a wide variety of skin tones/textures and body types, though few if any secondary sex characteristics; four limbs are most common, though occasionally some have two or more sets of arms; different types of leaves/vines/blossoms/etc in lieu of hair), and though they have a barter-based economy there’s still a lot of classism that’s mostly based around lineage (and thus evinced by one’s appearance and the traits one manifests). to protect (or attempt to bolster) those lineages, prospective parents can apply for a spot in a nursery, where their offspring are propagated and tended--mostly just through infancy before going to live with parents, though sometimes longer, and the very high class have private nurseries that will do all the rearing so they don’t have to.

But, on very rare occasions, certain wild plants will spontaneously develop sentience, and even more rarely will survive on their own long enough to find their way to a community. Hundreds of years ago (or “before the bees could speak”, which is their version of “once upon a time”), these spontaneous growths were revered and cherished, and whoever was first to encounter one would see it as a great honor to be responsible for their care and upbringing. now, with a much more striated society, these “weeds” (derogatory) are considered inferior, feral, dangerous. fortunately for Antheia, the man who found her, tangled in marsh reeds under the light of the Honey Moon, didn’t buy into any of that bullshit. he was a really sweet dad, very attentive and doting on his increasingly-strange adopted daughter; they were very close. but the older she got, the more her unusual ability developed, and the more he realized he was well out of his depth to help her understand that part of herself. eventually, she’s sent away to a kind of temple/convent for other people like her, where she’s trained to hone and control her extra senses, rather than be overwhelmed by them.

many years later, the sudden appearance of several large starships in their atmosphere turns their society on its head. it turns out, the bee-people have been traveling to other planets, forging alliances, brokering deals; they claim they just want to facilitate inter-planetary trade. Antheia is among the first to mistrust these invading aliens and their fleet of well-armed droids who seem hell-bent on mining their planet (which is, apparently, rich with cortosis, which--thank you wookiepedia--is apparently capable of repelling lightsabers and blasterfire alike). She flees her convent, joins up with an underground network of resistance fighters, discovers that her hyperawareness makes her a truly formidable force on the battlefield, and helps lead her people in defending the sovereignty of their home. And then things take a turn for the worse...but we don’t need to get into that right now.

ANYWAY.

my other oc, Shoal, is from the same planet but not even remotely star-warsy; either from a different time period well before the droid incursion, or just like an AU of my own stuff, idk. but she’s great, i love her deeply even though i dont really know what i even want to do with her yet. i mostly just was thinking about what a normal, average person in this world would be like, but then i got too attached. she’s also one of the spontaneous “weeds”, a semi-aquatic plant girl that washed up on a sandbar that occasionally connects a small island with the mainland when the tide is out. she was sort of “found” by multiple people at the same time, since they were making their way across to go trade goods at the mainland market, so to avoid the confusion of who should be responsible for her, she’s just sort of raised by the village as a whole. they name her Shoal, since that’s where they found her (it started as a joke, but then no one could agree on anything else to call her so it just sort of...stuck).

she grows up without realizing that it’s a pretty unusual upbringing. as a teen, she gains the reputation for the island’s best fisher (it helps that she can breathe as well underwater as above, and she’s always been a good swimmer). one thing that’s pretty consistent among all the plant people are their teeth--they all have long, sharp incisors and canines because sexy and also as more of a defense mechanism than a dietary one. they don’t eat much, typically absorbing nutrients from the sun/water/air/soil (mud baths are such a beloved experience, like for the most part they are very dignified people but find them some good mud and they will wallow for days) but when they do it’s pretty meat-heavy. they don’t really enjoy the process of eating very much, especially because they don’t have much gut bacteria so they typically have to swallow some stones to break up their food and nobody wants to do all that. but, at least in the coastal towns near where Shoal grew up, fresh-caught fish is considered a delicacy, and they can trade for quite a lot in return.

as she gets older, though, she starts getting restless. she loves her village, but it’s all she’s ever really known. also, it is so hard to even consider dating when literally everyone your age is practically your sibling, i mean, yeesh. so one day she just packs her bags and says her goodbyes and waits for low tide, then sets off to find her own way in the great wide world. she stops wherever she can, sees everything she can, but eventually settles down working at a tavern in a medium-sized town that’s mostly acclaimed for being a crossroads between bigger and better places. she likes it there, likes getting to know lots of new people and hearing about someone else’s travels more than she actually liked traveling herself. after a few years, the tavern-keeper retires and decides to leave the place to her, and she finds she’s become a permanent fixture in this new community. that’s really all i have for her so far, and i have no idea whether i’ll ever actually do anything with this character lol, but still she is very precious to me so i hope i find a story she’d be a good match for sometime soon.

Damien and Shayne were now 30 minutes through their second period of the day, parting ways with Courtney after the first. But, as always, agreed to meet up again at lunch with Keith, Noah and Olivia.

They only had 10 minutes left of class, and in that 10 minutes their teacher let them work on their homework. Shayne, working on science notes, took a look at his friend. Damien, sitting a few rows away from him, was staring blankly at his textbook for world history. His eyes glued in place so Shayne could tell that he wasn’t reading. Just... Staring.

Shayne glanced around the classroom, seeing if their teacher was nearby. When he confirmed it was safe, Shayne snuck his phone out of his pocket and held it in his lap so it looked like he just was reading a book. He unlocked his phone and went to Damien’s contact.

Shayne

You good? You’re just kind staring off into space

Shayne looked back at his exhausted friend. Damien jerked his head upwards as he snapped out of the zoning out he was doing. He did the same glance around the room Shayne had done, then pulled out his own phone from his bag. He turned it on and after seeing the notification, looked at Shayne briefly. He began typing, glancing around every so often.

Yeah I thibk so just really ducking tired.

Shayne laughed quietly to himself after reading that, and looked over at Damien. Who looked like he was also struggling to hide his laughter.

“I fucking hate you!” Shayne mouthed to Damien, who just blew a sarcastic kiss to Shayne.

Shayne giggled to himself quietly. Damien always made him laugh, even if what he said wasn’t necessarily a joke.

Shayne could see Damien chuckling to himself at the comment Shayne made. Damien turned to face Shayne slowly and subtly flipped him off, making him laugh once again.

Then the bell rang, and in seconds time the whole class was on their feet and packing up to leave. Shayne walked out the door and waited for Damien right outside the classroom. Once Damien walked out the two just stared at each other.

“You’re really fucking stupid.” They said in unison, which was followed up by boisterous laughter from the two. 

“JINXS you owe me eight- thousand dollars!” Damien said in between laughter, making Shayne laugh harder.

“God I WISH I had that kind of money!” Shayne said between laughter. 

“Imagine having money to do stuff.” Damien began walking down the hall once the crowd of people finished making their way out of the room.

“Well first you need a job.” Shayne said, following Damien

“Imagine having a job.” 

Shayne laughed at his comment. “You know you’re dumb idiot, right?”

“Yeah but I’m your dumb idiot and the only way you’re getting rid of me is if you kill me. And I think Courtney’s gonna beat you to that. So JOKES ON YOU!” 

Shayne rolled his eyes but continued to laugh. “You’re still a dumb idiot though.”

“Again, Shayne, we just went through this! I’m your dumb idiot!” Damien slapped his own hand for emphasizes. “And, also, you’re my dumb idiot! That’s how this WORKS Shayne!”

The boys laughed harder as they walked down the hall, getting a few weird looks as they did.

They continued to talk until Damien began to talk slower, his words we getting jumbled and he looked pale. He took one last look around before he began to fall.

“Whoa- shit!” Shayne’s reflexes kicked in and wrapped his arms around Damien, preventing him from hitting the ground. 

“Damien you good?” Shayne asked, getting a delayed nod from Damien. 

“Can you stand up?” 

“Y- yeah.” Damien placed hid feet fully on the ground and slowly stood up. “Ok yeah. I think I’m good.”

“What caused that?” Shayne asked, trying to mask the obvious concern in his voice.

“I-I don’t know. One moment my head really hurt, the next I’m almost on the ground.” Damien rubbed his temples in an attempt to sooth his head. “I think it’s just really loud in the halls.”

“Ok lets head in there then,” Shayne point to the bathroom not to far down the hall. Damien nodded in agreeance. 

The two boys walked down the hall, Shayne keeping a subtle hand on Damien’s shoulder in case of another spill. Damien was running a hand through his hair to try and stable himself.

The two took a quick turn into the bathroom. Damien went to lean against the wall in between two sinks. Shayne dug through his bag and pulled out his water bottle.

“Here,” he passed it to Damien “drink up bitch.”

“Wow is that anyway to talk to your friend who could be dying? No I don’t think so!” Damien sarcastically said, then took a drink of the water.

“I friggen hate you!” Shayne chuckled, pulling paper towels from the dispenser and running them under the sink with cold water.

“What you doin there baby boy?” Damien said in between drinks.

“This,” Shayne took the paper towels and placed them on Damien’s forehead after ringing them out. “I don’t know how much it’ll help, but we gotta do what we can to prepare for the long journey to the nurses office.”

Damien snorted at Shayne’s exaggeration. “Oh yeah I guess I should go to the nurse shouldn’t I?”

“YeAh I think that’d be smart!”

“Also I’m sorry, but I’m gonna drink all your water.” Damien punctuated with another drink.

“oH nO nOt My wAtEr! Dude drink it. Drink it all! Hell, I will get you and your sleep deprived, dehydrated ass another bottle of water.” Damien snorted at his statement, only slightly choking on the water

“You good?” Shayne asked with an amused smirk on his face.

“Yeah, you’re just a dumb lil man who makes dumb lil man jokes.” Damien teases, receiving one middle finger from Shayne. 

“Hey man, that’s just unnecessary.” Damien said, flipping off Shayne as he did. The two looked at each other and began snickering.

“Oh god,” Shayne said with a sigh, “Let’s get you to the nurse.”

“Oh you’re trying to get rid of me now? Well I’m not going down that easily! Take that!” Damien gently slapped Shayne with the wet paper towel that had been on his forehead.

Shayne stood there, mildly stunned.

“Let’s go to the nurse now.”

“Ok.”

Hi :) I remember that my studies were a nightmare.

People always say that it's the most beautiful period of your life, that you do what you wanna do, that you meet with others who think alike... But at least for me it was bullshit. I didn't bond with people and I hated what I studied. Literally hated it. And it made me cry every time I had to prepare for tests or projects.

Yet I finished what I started (wasted 5 years) just for the sake of having a degree. Which was a stupidity. I do regret it. If I could turn back time I would just drop it and start linguistic studies instead lol.

But well... It's a difficult matter. Especially when what you are studying is demanding and tiring and boring.

You gotta try to dive into yourself a little and think if you are tired because there is so so much work to do or because you don't like the studies in general? If it's the first one then it's good to slow down and don't overwork... Getting a good grade or passing a test at first attempt is not worth being stressed out and having a depression... These are just grades after all.

Taking a gap year is a good idea if that's what you need... Maybe it would help you gain a different perspective on things that bother you? Besides you have nowhere to rush on. You can and you should take as much time as you need to make a decision that will be your own and good for you.

Remember to be gentle with yourself. It's such a common phrase but it's really important. If you push yourself too much and treat yourself harshy then don't expect that your body and mind will play along. It's okey to have doubts and be exhausted and to want to try different options...

Just do whatever brings you happiness and if you don't know what it is already don't be scared to look for it.

hi! first of all thank you so much for sending this because its really nice to have a different perspective on this, im sure my friends and family are sick of me going back and forth and constantly talking to them about it. I definitely agree with what you're saying, my first year of uni was fucking awful, this was mostly due to the shitty flatmates I had, but this also caused me to be very isolated and literally only talk to one person (who lived a 10 minute wolf away from me) from nov - march, covid cut my first year short and I really don't know whether to be grateful or not. because im sure if it had continued normally I would have done terribly on my second semester exams and possibly dropped out then and there. :// I definitely relate to the struggle with tests, I find myself breaking down in tears almost everytime i sit down to do the coursework outside of lectures, and obviously I blame myself for that (I have not been doing the recommended extra work, or any of the weekly exercises. but that's purely because I just don't want to, I see no point in putting in extra time for something I don't like). but everytime I bring up these queries of dropping out (especially to my family) they always say 'finish the degree' 'it's only another year, you're basically almost there' and yeah I don't disagree, and it's easy for them to say it doesn't matter what final grade I get (2:2, 2:1 etc) but what would be the point. I already know if this thought of hating my degree sticks in my mind next year I will do exactly the same as what I'm doing now, putting in the bare minimum and stressing over all assignments, especially if we go back to face to face teaching. but then it's also like, what would I do if I dropped out now, as my parents keep saying I'd have to look for a job, and obviously covid has affected the job market, and I don't want a career, don't care about any of that, I think i just want to work on my art atm but who's to say that won't change and then I'll have zero passion for anything, and I'll be living at home again for no reason. I think a part of me is also nervous because of the entire concept of going back to face to face teaching, especially since I know like 2 people on my course and I still have no house for next year, but. idk. at this point I just want to give up. this would be so much easier if I just didn't exist :/ I try to not let my brain go down that route but it always ends up there anyway
