I'll never forgive ffxiv for not letting the WoL show affection to the twins. You spend the whole game with them watching them grow and hurt and change, and I REALLY feel like they deserve some hugs or at least something more than a couple dialog options and the stoic silent nod lol. Alphinaud canonically looks up to the WoL as an older sibling, and Alisaie repeatedly relies on them as a close companion and guardian. Those kids be starved as hell for any kind of positive role model to tell them they're doing great (which is even more true later on aha).

I was so disappointed when the reunion with them in Norvrandt was just them talking at you. Thancred gets to give Ryne headpats, why can't I have that for the twins!! Let me show them how proud of them I am I NEED them to understand that I care them so much-

he definitely doesn't relate at all to the idea of someone else shaping your body and absolutely does not sympathize with Remus's plight

i was thinking the grappling thing and either manta glide or the ability to breathe underwater for the simic stuff, but like he doesnt have control over the tentacles yet?

Anyway Yea so Logan created by royal family in place of Remus which created angst between the two “brothers” and identity issues in Logan. Their arcs are learning how to healthily process emotions plus Roman apology and Logan commits to alchemy

Tho I want to Virgil to also not be pushover so let’s say loophole happened and Jan has to stay with virge (hence why Jan is a part of the party)

okay so a couple of the rules are dont give a fae your true name and don't try to figure out their true name

So

what if virgil accidentally gave up part of his true name, and got stuck in the deal, but then figured out janus' true name

so in the same vein that janus had control over virgil, virgil now has more control over janus

he still gets his magic from janus, so he cant break free completely, but virgil has more freedom and can occasionally tell janus what to do or when to shove it

there should a running gag where virge can explain how he learned Jan’s true name but Jan can make something loudly censor him every time

(he learned his name bc once he heard janus practicing his evil genius voice and talking to himself in the mirror and janus said his true name)

so maybe janus sent virgil on the quest to protect a town or stop something related to remus, but virgil dragged him along

he might just be trying to protect a town thats close to a ley line, or something fae-related, and they just happen upon the whole thing

janus is selfish. but lawful vs chaotic is where he comes through, in morals vs doing whatever. janus has a strong set of loyalties to the fae, and to himself

so like....Remus is just too close to Jan's stuff and he wants to take him down

Virgil is just like....exhausted and said "fine, but if i gotta do this, you're coming, too"

or at least figure out a way to protect his place, even if it doesnt mean fully taking out remus. just moving him would work for jan

Personal Thoughts: Listen I just really like possessive Eddie, like that is my favourite trope. Plus this was just a really good fic to read. Buck is clueless and it’s so cute.

Personal Thoughts: This is just pure smut, y’all. But it’s really fucking good and I just really liked it.

Summary: 9-1-1 and Chicago Fire crossover series, based on the idea of Evan “Buck” Buckley being the step-brother of Kelly Severide. Angst and hurt abound for the Severide Bros.

Length: 3 parts, all completed. Incomplete series.

Personal Thoughts: I’m going to be honest, this is my favourite series right now and I will go back and re-read these all the time. The idea od Severide and Buck being siblings is something that I love, and will eventually right. I heavily recommend reading these if you haven’t yet.

When it comes to an end (I will want you to plea). By: Blink_Blue

Summary: After the lawsuit, Buck and Eddie are casually sleeping together. Eddie tells himself it doesn’t mean anything more than that. An unexpected incident at work brings up something Buck thought he’d long buried behind him and makes Eddie re-evaluate his feelings for his best friend.

Length: 4 chapters out of 8. Incomplete.

Personal Thoughts: Only this is such a good fic so far and I really enjoy it. There is smut though so if you’re not comfortable then you could skip over the first chapter, since it’s heavily implied. But im excited to see where this fic goes, and it’s another one of my favourites.

Summary: Buck feels like he failed both Chris and Eddie after the Tsunami. The Diaz Boys are there to prove him wrong.

Personal Thoughts: Listen, Christopher is the cutest damn person and I love him. This is a really good angst buck fic and I love it so much, plus Christopher is an angel.

Personal Thoughts: This was one of the first fics I read when I got back into the fandom after not watching 911 for a while, so this could be biased I guess. But it’s really good and I have always enjoyed reading stories that does have dad bobby Nash in them. But there is past abuse mentioned so if that’s something that is triggering or upsetting I would probably not read this one.

Of Bikes and Concussions. By: Datleggy

Summary: Buck gets into an accident on his way to work in the morning, and before he can explain why he’s late, he gets thoroughly chewed out anf the rst of his day goes downhill from there.

Personal Thoughts: I am such a big sucker for Buck angst and this really delivers on that. I feel so bad for Buck in this but I have laso read it so many times by now. So I heavily recommend this if you like buck fics. Also dad bobby is again my favourite thing and this is a massive part of it. The buddie is pretty minor but still there. While I’m here I would recommend reading anything by this author, they’re one of my favourites in the fandom.

Im sorry, angel demon au??? And high school hijinks??????

Who doesn’t love a good Angel/Demon AU? There’s a lot of weight to that symbolism and it’s always fun to give those types of stories a read through because I am a sucker for niche cliche tropes, I love good/evil, light/dark, etc. 

It’s hard to try and survive when you’re the son of the Devil and he doesn’t consider you and your brother to be worth anything. It’s even harder when the man wants to be rid of you before you can try and usurp the throne from him. at any moment. 

All both Saeran and Saeyoung can do is try and find spaces on Earth where they can live and hide from that man’s wrath. There’s always a lingering concern that he’s going to come and get rid of both of them at any moment. For the most part, they are able to survive thanks to the kindness of other demons. A couple of centuries would pass by, and things seemed like they would be alright. 

Of course, that would be if it not for the fact that Saeran encounters a very enchanting woman one evening in the gardens. At first, he thought that she was just a human. He thought that somebody had just come to appreciate things, and he strikes up a conversation with her... and they continue to meet like that for some time. 

She’s very intriguing. 

She’s very naive and doesn’t seem to know all that much about the world, it’s like she’s been sheltered or something, Saeran thinks. It’s actually kind of cute, as she’s always asking him about this and that, how things work, and about anything that he’s willing to tell her about. He knows that he really shouldn’t be spending so much time out in the open, but he’s never had some new to talk to. 

It isn’t until something happens that he realizes who she really is. There was a close call with one of his father’s goons, and he gets injured in the process of fighting back. When he comes to meet with Lila the next time, she sees his wound wrapped up and asks to take a look. She frowns when she sees the depth of it, and without thinking, she presses her hand to the lingering wound and it is healed in a matter of seconds. 

It’s warm. Her touch is warm. It’s like the sun is kissing his face on a warm summer day underneath the glimmering star. It’s so white-hot, pure, and light that it feels like she’s breathing life into him. That’s when it hits him. Everything that she’s done and said now makes sense to him. She wasn’t just some sheltered human. She was an angel. 

And she now knows what he is as well because the glow from her power was almost immediately rejected by his body and the wound went back to the way it was before she touched it. They’re both left to sit there and stare at each other in shock. She can’t heal him. Her powers only work on other angels and humans, not demons, not devils. 

They mean so much to each other but they’re from two different worlds and those worlds were never meant to meet in this way. If she continues to seek out the human world and his grasp, her wings will be taken from her. If he continues to meet with her then he knows that he will taint her holy wonder, and put her in mortal danger. 

And yet, there’s no denying that they both have feelings for one another... so, what is an angel and demon to do? 

Okay, so Highschool AU is actually kind of kooky. It’s one of my sillier AUs that doesn’t have a lot of imposing drama in the background. It’s a slice of life adventure with romance! Hilarity will ensure, so hold your horses, kids. 

Lila is an exchange student that came from abroad. She’s determined to try out something new and experience something new, and she’s got the good fortune of coming to the same school as the rest of the RFA. Which is just a club at their school in this AU, they do a lot of good for it by throwing dances and all sorts of events. 

The first person that she meets is a member of the student council, and his name is Ray. He’s a real sweetheart and does his best to show her around and help her with anything she needs. He goes above and beyond what’s expected of him, as usual. He just doesn’t want to mess things up. After all, he’s the one that suggested that they open their school up to the program, so she’s kind of his responsibility in a way, you know? 

He can’t help how strongly he feels for others. 

It’s obvious that he’s got a crush on her after the first couple of days that she’s there. It’s written all over his face with that goofy and clumsy smile of his that he just can’t seem to hide. He’s probably going to get teased over it by Seven and the others when Lila isn’t looking. 

Lila may feel the same way, but Ray isn’t sure. She’s always smiling and chatting with him amicably. It seems like they’re getting closer and that she likes him more than some of the people he knows but... 

Of course, this isn’t smooth sailing. 

After all, Saeran is just lingering underneath the surface, and he’s far different from Ray when he comes out. It happens more often when Ray is overwhelmed with his emotions, no matter what they may be, good or bad. You know when Saeran is directly speaking to you, he’s much blunter and frankly, a big old delinquent. He’s always getting into trouble and getting into spats with people over the smallest things. 

He can’t help his hairpin trigger. 

Unfortunately, Lila has a penchant for finding herself in danger, it seems like she’s just a sitting duck for anyone who wants to lash out at the pretty foreign girl. Because of that, Saeran begrudgingly (gladly) has to save her from a sticky situation. Much to his surprise, she had been more than ready to tell off the guys that dared to bother her in the first place and had been in the process of that by the time he decided to show up and scared them off. And oh fuck, what’s this feeling in his chest?

He thought that he was just going to have to save some stupid girl for Ray’s sake, but as it turns out, he realizes that he’s got a thing for her as well. This is where the hijinks ensue, kids. Both Ray and Saeran have feelings for the same girl and neither of them realizes that there are more reasonable ways to handle this; Because now, they’re both trying to win her affection before the other does like a couple of blind-sided idiots. 

So, here’s to Lila, flabbergasted by both parties and their actions. She’s caught in the middle of them and it’s like being stuck between a wall and a hard place as they both take their shot!

What They Would Get Arrested For: the same reason for being (in)famous, probably. the alliance does arrest him at the conclusion of me2 in fact for his actions as a cerberus agent. his passion knows no bonds, notably his need for revenge that drives him to harsh measures. he would kill somebody if it meant getting further towards somebody who has done him or his friends wrong. in this instance, though, i’d call it more drive than passion. all the same. he does what needs to be done.

OC You Ship Them With: omg out of all my mass effect ocs, including the original ones, probably wynonna shepard. they are both overcoming separate trauma and would bond over having ptsd.

his sister and mother leave him, following the separation of his parents. he stays in contact with tess more following the battle of akuze. she convinces him to leave his gang life and enlist in the alliance. she would pull strings to have them posted together.

he leaves behind the gang life and comes to trust tess again. work through hannah taking her away. they write emails back and forth constantly while he studies at the academy, while tess secures him a corporal position on the normandy. he’s never been more relieved to have his sister in his life and is happy.

mass effect 2

tess dies. that’s the change. it’s a big change - kwon’s underlying ptsd manifests in a very obvious way and he relapses back into drugs and gang life. despite attempts of the sr-1 to curb him, he simply disappears off the grid into his trauma. 

cerberus tracks him down and offers him a chance at revenge, which is what sparks him to act again. get back at the alliance, do something. not leave their soldiers on akuze to die. not leave their soldiers in space to die. the change here is he has a cause, one he is passionate about, but all of his relationships are very tentative. he’s unstable still, but all the illusive man cares about is his position as the tragic younger brother of the late commander shepard.

suddenly, he has a new family. the crew really unite around him as mass effect 2 goes on. they can see kwon’s intentions are good (he will save the people over the mission for example, or he will be compassionate despite his harsh words) and that he is hurting. they all watch out for him.

miranda goes that extra step and actually reveals the illusive man’s plan. the hinge of kwon working for him was that he’d use lazarus to ressurect her, except with kwon, he doesn’t need a second shepard. he is lying about this fact, one miranda divulges to him right before the collector base. betrayal is the change. it shifts his perspective to revenge again, but against cerberus, which leads him to destroying the base and returning to the alliance.

mass effect 3

for some ungodly reason, he is given a command. that is the change. he now, officially, has people who rely on him to save the whole god damn galaxy. he is so preoccupied with this he loses the sight of the fact it’s his family again, still around him, still supporting him. when he does realise, it’s like he’s back on sr-1 again, he’s by his sister’s side doing something that matters.

so he saves the galaxy with his family and friends by his side. there’s his big change. and i love him. i love him so much. he survives mass effect 3 and goes on to retire okay, he’s been through so much and he needs his rest. let him rest.

Why You Love Them: because of all that development above. because he’s still an amazing soldier despite his mental illness. because he’s a good man put in a bad situation. because he’s worthy of love and I WANT TO GIVE HIM ALL OF IT.

alright so the main thing with sheith is that it feels realhealthy and good. (well it did. things are weird this season bc shiromay or may not be a clone but up until his disappearance at least.)they’re rly good abt checking in with each other to see how theother one’s doing and feeling, and they lean on each other a lotfor support. they also treat each other as equals and respect each other’s choices (again, with minor exceptions in the current season). they got that good good hidden backstory together. they got that good good star crossed lovers thing goin on where the universe keeps ripping them apart, fucking them over and tossing them back together more fucked up than before and my dude i Eat That Shit UP. also that good good height difference.the show gives them lots of moments where they’re either alone in a room together havin a private moment or havin an equally private moment in front of the whole fuckin team where fuckin everybody can see them (like the first Hug tm). they’re openly physically intimate with each other (which keith is not with anyone else) and they’re not like. ashamed of that. there’s so much canon content i cry daily. 

here lemme break it down

we know they knew each other in the garrison, and not just like in passing, like acquaintances, but enough that keith was the only person there to see shiro off when the kerberos mission launched. in s1ep1 lance says of shiro “omg that guys my hero” and of keith “you’re my rival” but neither shiro nor keith know who lance even fuckin is. bc presumably they didnt hang out. everyone in the garrison knows who keith and shiro are but they - keith especially it seems like - dont keep track of the other students. also theres this whole fanon thing where shiro and matt were best friends in the garrison and hung out all the time before kerberos, but in s4 when matt greets shiro hes incredibly stiff and awkward and calls him sir and shiro just goes “pidge never gave up on u buddy” which i guess could be a clone thing but could also be him bein like “i totally did give up on u tho, whatever” (and i can totally buy that considering how pidge’s whole personal arc this whole time has been looking for matt and their dad, and while shiro has been supportive of that, he’s also been like hey dude that’s not our top priority as a team). so from that i infer that matt and shiro werent best buds in the garrison, and that he must have spent a lot more of his time with keith bc in s2ep1 keith makes it clear that shiro made a significant impact on his life and that he still thinks about things shiro said to him before kerberos. which we havent seen. bc theyre hiding the pre-kerberos backstory from us and i cry. also their flashbacks in s1ep2 (i think, i dont exactly remember which ep but i think its that one) when they all put on the headsets and we see their fondest memories, shiro’s is the day they were separated and keith’s is the day they found each other again like jesus.

then there’s keith’s first scene in the show. the first thing we see him doing is kicking the shit out of like three garrison guys to rescue shiro. we get that close up of him touching shiro’s unconscious fuckin face and his first line in the whole show is him saying shiro’s name. like shit dude how am i supposed 2 not ship that. the first time keith and lance interact, its lance butting in on that moment and keith being like “who the fuck are u” and its. uncomfortable. we also know that keith has been livin alone in the desert and obsessing over these lion carvings bc he got kicked out of the garrison for basically insubordination sometime after shiro went missing. we get that scene in the shack where keith talks abt feeling lost until shiro showed up and everyone else in the room looking all confused and uncomfortable as these two dudes who clearly already know each other well and have been separated for like a year just stare into each other’s eyes or what the fuck ever. also the scene outside the shack where keith comes and finds shiro and puts a hand on his shoulder and asks him how hes doing - theyre alone for that part. also worth mentioning is that keith has no hesitation touching shiro’s galra tech arm, whereas lance hesitates before shaking his hand. we see a bunch of times that keith is touch averse with almost everyone except shiro, in a way that indicates a degree of prior familiarity and a good understanding of boundaries that keith hasnt had the time or inclination to set up with lance, hunk, pidge, allura, coran etc. also the one time he holds lance when sendack attacks the castle and lance is unconscious, lance sort of blows it off later and basically goes “no homo” when keith brings it up so that was a bummer

i also love some of the Pauses they put into shiro and keith’s dialogue, some of them are just. so choice. like when keith proposes a crazy plan that puts him in danger and shiro just takes a sec, closes his eyes, then goes “alright i’ll back u up, do what u gotta do” like!!!! boi!!!!!! thats good shit. also in s2ep9 during the blade of marmora trial when keith is basically having this nightmare about shiro rejecting him because of his connection to the galra, (which real actual shiro can see because this whole ep was a fuckin fanfiction) and he does that same thing where hes like “shiro... *pause, close eyes for Just a sec* you’re like a brother to me” which! by the way!! i have said the same thing!! to a friend i had a crush on!!! who was straight!!!! and i was a little baby who didnt know i was into girls yet and we used to say we were like sisters bc i? didnt know i?? was gay???? we shared her bed whenever i stayed over and she really did see me as a sister and i would just lie next to her and daydream about touching her boobs,, anyway keith is so relatable there i could yell forever but continuing on,

can we, real quick, talk abt the first time keith flies the black lion? bc in s2ep1 hes not the black paladin yet. real shiro is still around. and keith legit goes up to black, puts a hand on her big ole nose and goes “ur boi is in trouble, we gotta help him” and she goes “yeah dude hop in” like?????????????? thats some fanfic shit again! black Knows! also dont even talk to me abt how many times keith and shiro yell each others names in that ep its unreal. also the trope (that i eat the fuck up every time) of one member of the otp lying trapped and injured somewhere and talking to the other member of the otp thru a helmet comm or whatever and they cant see each other but they can hear each others voices, so they have to keep talking to like reassure each other they’re both still alive and okay?!!! im such a sucker for that shit!!!! ummmmm the fact that shiro keeps reassuring keith that hes fine when theres a gaping glowing wound in his side and hes like visibly in pain, clenching his teeth, eyes closed, groaning, sweat beading on his forehead, the whole fuckin thing?? and josh knocked it outta the park with shiro’s voice in that ep making him sound like he was trying not to sound hurt and exhausted so that keith wouldn’t worry too much like Fuck me up!! smiling thru the pain when keith talks abt how much shiro changed his life and made him a better person??? boi!!!!!

then there are the times when shiro talks abt something happening to him and keith taking over as voltron’s leader, and keith gets all panicked about it like he cant stand the thought of losing shiro again (this happens a bunch of times but the ones that are coming to mind are s2ep1 and s2ep9 bc. again. those are the fanfic episodes). and then he Does lose him again and he’s so clearly grieving, lashing out at the rest of the team, super obviously feeling shiro’s loss more than the others (and lance is a real dick about it a bunch of times which really rubbed me wrong), going out to look for him over and over bc he wants to believe so bad that shiro’s out there somewhere. omg the “please no” when the black lion accepts him that shit Fucked me right up!! he wants to honor shiro’s wishes!! but some part of him knows that’s like admitting that shiro’s gone and isn’t coming back. and then!!!!!! when they find kuron and its just the red lion and the galra ship floating alone in space just like. gently drifting toward each other. keith’s little tired smile there. fuck me up. and then we find out in the next scene that keith has been the only one in shiro (kuron)’s room while he’s recovering and shiro (kuron) hasnt bothered to shave or cut his hair or get dressed yet and he lets keith see him like that and not the rest of the team. fuck. keith looks Exhausted in that scene. hes got bags under his eyes, hes kinda hunched in on himself, arms crossed, like something in him Knows this isnt his boi but he wants to believe it’s him so bad and its. god. its a lot. and Then when hes turning to leave and kuron is like “how many times will u have to save me before this is over” and keith’s face just relaxes into this legitimately genuine smile when he says “as many times as it takes” like!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! fuck me

this is where it starts gettin awkward with them bc kuron isnt shiro and he doesnt treat keith the way shiro would but he Tries, like after keith fucks up that one mission and kuron comes and finds him (again, in private) to touch his shoulder and be like “im proud of u boi” when keith clearly Did Not Do A Good Job and keith just looks bummed like “thats. thats not tru” and it Hurts me bc we know real shiro doesnt do fake praise. also kuron orders keith to put himself in danger more than once and doesnt give a shit that keith and the others get hurt because of it which also real shiro would never do - we’ve seen him react when his teammates take hits before, but especially keith, like during the bom trial. then theres s4ep1 where keith sort of drifts away from team voltron in order to do more stuff with the blade of marmora and everyone’s pissed at him but then as hes walking out kuron’s like “you know we’re here for you if you need us” and keith gets that soft smile again like “i know and i cant tell you how much that means to me” and then they do that good good hand clasp that turns into a hug which by the way is a stark contrast to when other people hug keith and they just kinda grab him and he goes all stiff and it takes him a sec or three to put his arms around them if he even does that at all - with shiro they do the hand clasp first and then walk into the hug together and keith buries his face in shiro’s fuckin shoulder and smiles and closes his eyes and i wanna die. and theyve done this twice now which makes me think they probs did it before kerberos too and that also hurts me. 

then theres s4ep6 where keith has gone the whole season feeling like he was a bad leader. it seems like voltron doesnt rly need him and his friends dont need him and shiro doesnt need him and hes been hanging with the bom who have their whole philosophy of not going back to rescue their own guys if it means putting the mission or the rest of the team in danger (which keith already was saying when allura was captured - how very galra of him) and now keith’s having to readjust to that mindset after being part of such a close knit team. so when he sees a way to take that shield down, he just fuckin goes for it. hes started to see himself as expendable. when shiro thinks hes about to die, we get all kinds of flashbacks, the first of which is him and keith alone outside the shack. there are no flashbacks with keith. he just closes his eyes. and shiro (kuron) congratulates him. like obv its before he knows what keith was about to do, but still, thats some fucked up shit. 

now this wasnt rly part of ur question, ie u didnt ask me how i felt abt klance, but i feel like i gotta say: lance just grates on me. im sorry i know lots of people who love him but he just. isnt my cup of tea. and i do think the relationship shown in the show between keith and shiro is a lot more mature and healthy than the one shown between lance and keith. lance has some good moments! but canon lance and fanon lance seem like two entirely different people to me a lot of the time and thats all cool and fine if ur lookin for that, again im not here to stop ppl from having fun, but there are so many good sheith moments in the show and im just glad to see the relationship between two dudes depicted that way regardless of whether it becomes canon or not. also lance in the show is only shown being attracted to girls, and in kinda a skeevy way - like ive met guys who treat me like that and been Very off-put by that kind of behavior. and it would put me off if after all that they got him together with keith. like hes just superficially interested in all these hot girls but keith, who he has very few heartfelt intimate moments with onscreen, is his True Love? like thats,, not good bi rep. i Do rly like the bond hes been building with allura since they switched lions, that seems like its going in a direction that could turn out to be very wholesome and sweet. but again, if klance is ur thing, by all means have a ball.

okay i’m guessing “supported” here means “emotional support” but it made me think of... like... if i got to live with my closest friends and not have to work outside. in exchange, i deal with all the household stuff. so basically, financial support? lol. 

that would be ideal but also unrealistic so that aside, i think i’m good with the usual stuff like having someone lend an ear when i’m down. and it would be nice if they would teman me to places bc of my chicken tendencies :v

2. Imagine that money was no object. What’s the silliest, most unnecessary purchase you’d make?

hmmm... i dunno. buy a cat cafe with its operating expenses paid off for the next 50 years, and then invite everyone over for free drinks and cat petting sessions?

i mean, i’d like a world that isn’t as shitty as the current one... but for now i'll leave the in-depth thinking to ppl who are more capable of braining it >_<

8. Talk to me about a genre of entertainment or medium that you love, and how it frustrates you.

okay this one is tough bc i can’t think of anything that fits this atm... so i’m just gonna go with like... the latest thing i’ve read which is this manga. which happens to be BL and reminds me of a trope within this genre that bugs me:

why is there often the implication that the chara is Not Gay, he has never liked guys before, only this one special guy. like ??? to this day i still do not get why this is a thing. am i missing smth here? why is it such a taboo to use that label considering the entire story is about 2 dudes falling in love? if not gay then why not bi? is it bc labels have political baggage or smth? i mean if they’re not going to address it, why bring the topic up at all?

tbh idk if this is still common within the genre bc i haven’t read BL in years. when i did it was bc i liked that BL was often not sexual. or at least, not explicit about it (not yaoi btw). yea the plot can be ridiculously dramatic or cheesy at times... but i’m secretly a sucker for that stuff :x

i wish there weren’t so many irritating tropes (esp re:consent issues) that made me stop reading. but then again, i think everything suffers from this to a certain extent. like slash fic lol.  it’s so much easier to filter fics tho.

9. Tell me about something you absolutely love but would not recommend to anyone you know.

um i'm not sure if i have any? most of the stuff that falls into this category is just stuff i think is embarrassing in a sappy way, but would still rec if i know the person likes that kind of stuff too haha.

single words are difficult so i’m gonna use phrases (...sentences??)

- the feeling of freshly shaved hair on the nape

- lotus root soup with peanuts

- nostalgic music

- lying down on the floor

- long rides with no specific destination

- waking up early but there's nothing urgent so u get to laze in bed

- that feel when u’ve just been in a blasting cold a/c room and then u go out and bake under the sun for a while (@tariqk i think this is the complete opposite of what you wrote inyour post? ahaha)

- dreams of being in love (i don't dream as myself often, so this is always me looking through the pov of a chara/other person. that fuzzy and affectionate feeling in the dream is just rly nice and often lingers for a while after waking)

a couple comments on the fandom ao3 - the proportion of dazai/chuuya fics is honestly astonishing. I’m sure they have more interaction than this in the manga, but karmagisa has roughly the same, if not lesser (I think? Been some time since I checked the AC AO3 relationship rankings, because all it does is make me sad over the lack of f/f, but that’s smth I’m working on fixing personally) proportions. And Karma and Nagisa get way more screen time together and much more detail on their relationship. idk man, whatever floats your boat and if it’s popular, it’s popular. I’m really into it too

I mean, I also like dazai/kunikida a lot too and it was my first ship for this show, but kunikida hasn’t had as much time to shine this season - many of the characters haven’t, but dazai, ever the eternal puppet master and one of the central focuses, usually gets a lot. I certainly don’t mind, he is the favorite son.

still don’t understand why akutagawa/Atsushi is such a thing, but ofc the end of s2 is hinting at redemption of a sorts for akutagawa and he’s getting better, and I’m sure that’s shown even more in the manga. tbh akutagawa is such an incredibly self-destructive, volatile, poor-tempered guy that while that’s a ship I could get behind, it would require a ton of work, and that’s work I’d prefer the show to be doing instead me headcanoning my way into things making sense (looks at the rarepairs I have cobbled together out of headcanon and far-reaching analysis. it’s work, yall). Development. It would be good. for now, I definitely love lucy/Atsushi - I think they’d be good for each other, and she’s got a skewed moral compass too, but she seems a little more amenable to changing that.

Steinbeck/lovecraft is a cute friendship, even if I can’t stop thinking the phrase “tentacle porn,” over and over, in my head. I hate it a whole lot. I’m so done with myself tbh, too many tentacle jokes in AC fandom RIP. Lovecraft is really cool, he’s such a mystery but I think that’s a good narrative choice that the writers made, and I love that monster aesthetic even though I have never once in my life read any of Lovecraft’s works.

Ranpo is really fascinating as always. I’m not entirely sure of his thought processes, but I understand where he’s going with the, “but then I’d be normal.” (Paraphrasing because I don’t remember the exact words.) because - and I suspected this was the reason from the start - if he isn’t gifted, then his abilities are only human, can make mistakes and be fallible and he’d be held responsible for it. I get that. It’s hard. I sympathise with him. And I continue to love his closed-eyes smiling expression and his spiky hair, the hair is just cool. Also, poe/ranpo seems cute.

I was going to say I have no words for how much i adored the double black episode, but I’m writing a whole lot of words now, so I guess that’s a lie. I really adored it. I love ships that are all rivalry and hatred and an unwilling magnetism that attracts them to each other (okay yall could already tell but shush). I will probably rewatch the episode soon. And probably write a couple snippets of fic, but won’t really do anything until later because I have a lot of other writing to attend to ah the moment. But oh my God, Dark Era Dazai (still can’t believe Chuuya was his partner and didn’t appear even once in the Dark Era episodes!) and his partner fucking shit up and insulting each other and terrifying all their enemies and making fun of each other all the time, barely able to tolerate each other but inexplicably tied together. I love it, okay. I want to write so much about it.

Francis was never a character I liked, but he at least amused me sometimes, so props to anything that can make me laugh or smile.

Akutagawa is a mess.

Atsushi playing big brother / mentor to Kyouka gives me life

I am a fucking baby I felt so many overwhelming emotions when Dazai walked over to Akutagawa and said, “you’ve become strong.” (Not paraphrased!) I’m so - oh my god.

Akutagawa try to gain some semblance of mental stability. Maybe read a self help book, take an anger management class. thx, love u bb

Omg the Poe episode I forgot how much I loved the unreliable narrator trope in fiction. Mainly because the reasons for the narrator being unreliable turned out to be shitty and cliche most of the time but I still love it.

The detectives are precious and adorable. All of them. The party at the end was so great my heart was like!!!!! :D

Grimoire of Zero 1

I mistook this as Re:Zero at one point (because of the Zero Kara Hajimeru… start of the title). However, despite my having never seen Re:Zero, I’m always open for a good fantasy title.

At least this show is funny, that’s for sure.

Eh, this plot seems like Bungou’s a tad – if you think about why Atsushi was hunted down and such – but then who’s going to be Zero in a Bungou Stray Dogs x Grimoire of Zero AU?

This seems a little cliché in how it handles its humour, but I have a feeling it’ll go above and beyond.

What struck me was that they chose the name Plasta as the capital’s name. A capital city called “Plaster”, pretty much, LOL.

The ED reminds me of Flip Flappers and the book motif reminds me of Deltora Quest, so it’s quite the nostalgic feeling. It’s a keeper, although if it becomes an endless bore of a quest then it may hold less potential than I think it does.

The Royal Tutor 2

It seems Bruno is one prince everyone with a strict study regimen’ll relate to. (Or at least, those who’ve had a strict study regimen at least once in their life.) Even if this is an exercise in drawing out humour to the fullest, it’s relatable and that’s part of what gives this show its personality.

I haven’t seen anyone this enthusiastic to have a master since Yotaro (SGRS)! LOL.

Heine used watakushi. He’s very polite.

Yeahhhhhhh…this, as you may know from how I treated Love Tyrant and Armed Girls, is not going to go down well. Just when the show had gained my favour, too…

I think the girls might’ve referred to Heine as Heinecchi. Update: My mistake, it was Heine-chan.

Behoove? Welp, I learnt a new English word from the subs. It’s not every day that happens, although I tend to pick up cultural things a lot from subs (hence these notes).

Creepy CGI door is not to be taken lightly too. The camera angle was a bit weird there, to boot.

SukaSuka 1

There aren’t too many promising debuts this season (I only really have my eyes on BnHA, Kado and The Royal Tutor at the moment) because “shows potential” is very different to “I want to keep watching!” for me, but maybe SukaSuka will do the trick.

Why does every fantasy world these days involve animal people? Who knows?

Intereting to note there was Scarborough Fair in English (yes, I had the volume on this time). As a side note, the song was sung by a Tamaru Yamada. (Around when the juggling Pac-Man appears, there’s credits for it.)

That oddly placed camera angle (the one where you see into the room from the window) was weird. Seriously though, how does Willem know Nyllathgo (or whatever troll girl’s name is)? Update: her name is Nygglatho. It was close, but not quite it…

Reptrace appears to be a made up cuisine.

I can only see the kids as shippers in the making, but I guess that’s YoI’s fault…?

I remember from pre-show material her katakana name is Kutori, so I’m gonna go with that spelling.

Well that was new: I can normally guess a new point for a show that plays it safe like this, but Kutori is a weapon too? That I didn’t guess. That automatically means I keep it on, at least for another week.

Tsukigakirei 2

Tsukigakirei is sitting somewhere pretty high on the list of “shows to go on hold this season”, so it’ll have to perform well to not have to get that treatment. Considering I can be fairly strict with my 5 show quota, I need to put 2 shows on hold (since out of 8 shows, the third is Kenka Bancho Otome, which automatically goes out of the running), 1 if I use a space I just freed up.

Was the live action OP really necessary? Considering this is anime, it is a bit odd. (Then again, didn’t I raise that gripe with Kado too?)

I don’t normally think about staff much unless they’re familiar names, but Seiji Kishi is a name that’s come up before – with Rampo Kitan.

It just so happens the girly boy is the one with the horns on his headband…for some reason, I find it suits him, since he’s the devil’s advocate to Kotaro. Also, why isn’t Kotaro wearing his headband?

Hey, this feeling. I’ve never really participated in these sport days (if I was forced to do stuff, I’d shotgun shotput since no one really took it), but I know the feelings around them real well. Once again, Tsukigakirei excels in recreating a teenage experience…

I has a small sneaking suspicion Akane’s toy would have gotten lost, and it seems like that’s coming true.

I laughed a really derpy laugh at devil’s advocate boy liking the teacher. Even though I had a small squick moment that it may have been romantic, suki is quite the broad term compared to how Akane and Kotaro’s romance is laid out so…it can’t be said for sure that the boy’s “like” is romantic, too.

That pink thing is a potato mascot?! I’m not angry, just hella surprised – that pink thing is so not a potato.

I gave a little “aw!” at when Kotaro told Akane she was fine the way she was. Now there’s a sentiment I can get behind.

Why does he box the light string? I don’t get it…but at least it makes him more dynamic than, say, Haruki (Sagrada Reset).

The style of the ED is unique, that’s for sure.

I think Tsukigakirei just proved itself. Sure, it’s not a complete “turn genres on its head” sort of thing, but it’s competent at what it does, and that’s all it needs right now. That’s all it’ll ever need. Then again, that does beggar the question: what goes on hold instead? There’s only one way to find out…

Kado 2

I was surprised to find out Shunina was voiced by none other than Akoya (Takuma Terashima)!

The OP is a rather odd choice (in regards to the music), but it does at least set the atmosphere well.

WPAN? I know of LANs and WANs, so WLAN makes sense (kind of), but not that…Okay, I learnt something.

When the plane looks better than the characters…you know you’re doing CG wrong.

I want the OST of this, that song when Shindo touches the bottom of the cube really creates the feeling of a “foreign space”.

Erm, while Shindo and Shunina are negotiating, Shunina seems to have forgotten he’s buck naked…? Not that I mind, and it completely makes sense for an alien like him, but…yeah. He’s naked.

Base 10 = decimal, base 16 = hexadecimal, base 2 = binary. Shunina seems to be expressing the time in binary, but time is in base 60 (because 60 seconds = 1 minute and so on, so forth).

That bread doesn’t look too appetising, LOL.

I know Kado is much prettier flat, but when it’s just slow pans…you can tell they skimped on the budget. CGI is costly, sure, but…make sure you have proper budget before you make an anime, people, please. (On the other hand, I like 2D!Shunina.)

Is there any significance as to what order people appear in the ED?

Kado’s been my top contender ever since episode 0. While it does have its visual flaws, it’s an intelligent anime that takes its time to explain things and build suspense.

Twin Angel Break 2

I ended up keeping this on because I have no access to Twin Angel: Twinkle Paradise…

I never knew Sumire was such a sucker for her brother…I’ve never seen such a trope in magical girl shows before, and normally when you see it in anime, it’s a dude lusting after his younger sister, not the other way around. Just another sign this is aimed at pachinko-playing guys…

Who has a porcupine as a pet? Sometimes I can’t tell if this show’s for little girls or older men…Well, Google says it’s possible to have a porcupine as a pet, but still I bet a pachislot-playing man wouldn’t know you can have a pet porcupine.

I was most displeased when I realised Sumire has a Gainax moment in her transformation sequence. Yet another fanservice spot to add to the growing list of annoyances in this show…

It’s the ol’ duplication trick. Saw it in Smile Precure, so I guess I’m kinda numb to it already.

I was not expecting that for the ED. I really didn’t.

Well, I’ve had enough gripes about this show. It’s going on hold so I can figure out my feelings about it. That being said, there’s a lot of “middle ground” anime this time - if SukaSuka or Grimoire of Zero don’t get the boot from their next ep, I’ll have to deal with 6 simulcasting anime and leave the space open. (Luckily, there have been so many full seasons that I have a little too much bingewatching material available, regardless of whether I have the space open or not.)

Boku no Hero Academia 16

Not sure if chicken race means this or actual chicken racing, since Google tells me actual chicken racing exists.

I’ve wanted to know more about Tokoyami for a while, so here’s hoping for character development!

A-ha! Exploiting landmines’ propulsion – not many would think of that, but Midoriya certainly would.

All Might, Thirteen and Present Mic ganging up like that looks ridiculous, but it’s hilarious and helps to break up the suspense. *thumbs up*

*laughs* Oh man, this is what makes this show so good. It manages to strike hard and well with both its humour, strategy and action – it never misses one beat. That’s the spirit, Boku no Hero Academia! Keep going just like this!
