I love looking at that poll about whether your native language is hard to learn and all the native English speakers are like "#english is so contradictory it's so hard! #sorry to everyone who has to learn my language" and all the non native speakers are like "#english is so easy #my mother tongue is German hope you like articles" or "#i speak greek here's a new alphabet"

#im a native English speaker who has learnt another language to a decent degree of proficiency #i promise english is actually very easy #we have no word gender and only the/a as articles #a lot of irregular verbs lol but thats not that bad #you just have to learn those #english grammar is a lot less strict than other languages an imperfectly constructed sentence is normally still understandable #you can almost put the words where you want #if you want you can put the words wherever #see?#slightly different semantic meaning to natives but its the same concept #languages #english #language learner #text
