I want you to imagine following scenario:

You are the guy that I worked with during my internship in february this year.

You have known this person who applied last minute to get this internship for like a week.

You decide: "I'm gonna let the intern do some creative work :D" and leave them alone for the better part of the day after explaining a video program to them where they're supposed to do their own little thing.

You come back about 2 hours later to check on what they're working on, and this is what they present to you:

oh, kjsdhfjskdf . how sweet<3 thank you for this! I am doing well, crafting ouro alongside some personal shifts and growth and setbacks and victories. it has been a godsend to take all this pressure off for this period and do things my way. though, I'll say: while it has taken and will probably take another while, this silence will be broken at some point. I'll avoid saying soon only because I'm staunchly sticking to my pace&process. however !! I finished the draft for the first book yesterday. !! I am currently doing some hefty edits, collecting art and testing coding (&learning something new a hundred times over, over, again, whether it be storycrafting, interactivity, ui design, social media, art, code ... the list goes on) and so for the most part, I'm having a good time, as long as we count the entire spectrum of the human condition as a mostly good time. pfft.

I miss hanging out here too! I genuinely can't wait to get back to online shenanigans once I feel ready for it; if you'll have me, of course. I can imagine that this type of secret development is frustrating and everyone has their limit. It means a lot that you sent this my way. Hope you're doing well too. <3

#OUROBOROS #ouroboros-if #interactive fiction #so much has changed that i see the public demo as an entirely different work at this point. It has been a fun but daunting journey and some #part of me is sad that I couldn't handle sharing that process as much as I'd like. but life takes precedent and that's just how it be #im so pleasantly surprised that the majority of people who advocate for mental health first actually follow through on the compassion #they promise. do you know what I mean? ouro & the community around it is tiny in the grand scheme but #I have never felt so supported in my entire life #every time I feel scared or hopeless the people around me (and you know who you are. I love you!!) have given me nothing but grace #and the joy of their friendship. that's enough for me-- for now >:3

#lizzy does art #persona 3 #ryomina #ryoji mochizuki #minato arisato #makoto yuki #i think ryomina is very comforting to draw... very easy to come back to for me. they have the honor of being a timeless ship to me.#i really enjoy drawing them in a silly loose way... even if there's not much to it other than them existing on the canvas #whenever i draw ryoji or minato. my brain has this little happy signal that goes off and jumps for joy!!!#'its the boy!!' the brain exclaims with hope and optimism and whimsy #i miss these guys a lot btw if you can't tell i cant stop walking back and forth in my room shaking these two in my brain #even if i do not have 'bigger' things to show other than a product of silliness of me messing around on a canvas #i think that's enough... drawing is something to cherish it's smthn that you have that no one can take away from you...#no matter how big or small!! if you made yourself happy with a draw. that is something that is worthwhile. be friends with yourself!#that said going forward im going to try and stop overthinking about art because i know that things will be fine if i just do it!#i have fun doodling them. and i hope everyone has a whimsical week ahead with good health and many smiles :)

life update: we found an apartment and managed to get our hands on it, yippee :D

#i try not to babble on this blog but i am desperate for connection and also want people who buy from me to know they do Good Things #as in everyone who has commissioned me is helping my family through one of the hardest things we have been through #i no longer need to have nightmares about being homeless by the end of the summer :')#sister is pissed at the moment because ... i dont even know and in the grand scheme im just happy to have found a home #she will hopefully come around #anyway i might delete this later cause it feels vulnerable but i also want to share my joy #especially with people who have actively helped us put food on the table in the midst of this chaos

I feel like maybe we should boycott Natlan by just NOT pulling on banners with the new characters. I have no idea how well that would work, but it would be a hit (at least on some degree) to hoyo and get a message across to them

Real boycott is just dropping the game all together but not alot of people are willing to do that plus gestures at the CN community. If we drop it, there will always be people willing to pay. This game is catering not to us but the CN community. It was never meant to last and be as popular as this.

And don't say 'well *I* can drop it', your experience and attachment to the game is different. I personally still play because as bad as it gets, i really do still want to see the story end. I still want to run around and beat random mobs up. Some of my favourite characters are from Genshin and I still would like to see them in game.

Ultimately it really is 'Don't like? Don't play' but it's not gonna sway hyv unless it disturbs their main audience.

do you make enough money from selling prints in etsy to sustain your life? how are you able to afford this beautiful house and time to crochet and go on walks and all of that? i’m not asking for nosiness but because i’m trying to figure out what i would need to do in order to make my life financially sustainable… is art an option… etc

#long answer part 1: i make enough off my etsy to afford my stuff (and i really don't buy much) and help out w th food bills where i can etc #i hvnt been able to do much of that OR save anything for the past couple months bc i hvnt been selling much BUT . things are beginning #to pick up again and i hve new stock to add when i get back from holidays :3 #i have a smallish job lined up from my agent which is exciting! but hopefully i will make enough w her doing picture books etc to be able #to pay my keep / save more etc! i hve been anxious abt money this past months but thats just more so money for me to spend on small stuff :#i also dont drive so . i dont rlly hve many outwards expenses . im very lucky to have him hes very kind and lovely !!#if i wasnt w him and he didnt hve a house i would still b living w my mama which i did since i left uni!#long answer part 2: i always make time for goofing off during my work day. always!!!#part of the joys of being a freelancer! i can do what i want!!#i can share my routine in more detail if u guys want but i dont start work until abt 2pm-ish most days bc i dont rlly work well in the #mornings. when i hve more work that might change!! i have enough on to keep me busy but im not rlly hvin 2 manage my time u kno #im very very lucky to be in such a comfortable position :3 i hope one day u can be as comfy !!#oh also. i think once the agency work kicks in i will b fine financially ! and also u can absolutely make a living off etsy when its good #its very good for me ! i was very comfy financially around xmas last year i made a lot #u can do it u can do it !! art will always sell !!

I always enjoy it when people come up to me while im drawing as long as they're nice about it, and especially kids. And while the last two weeks only seemed to have obnoxious parents (at one point a kid was pointing like 'i want to be able to that!' and their parent replied 'you can't' and i was like ???? Wtf), this week there was a mom and two daughters who were really interested in art and were standing behind me while i sketched for a long while. Neither of the girls could have been much older than 10, and they were super shy, and were asking their mom questions, and i answered one of the questions. And the mom laughed and said 'see, she can hear you, don't be afraid to ask her questions!' and then i turned around and introduced myself a little and explained what i was drawing. And then they just stood and quietly watched me draw for like ten minutes, it was so sweet. 🥹
