you were sleepy when you first awoke and found yourself rubbing your eyes. as an added layer of warmth, the sun was beating down on your skin. the thick blankets had been stolen in the middle of the night, partly from you, by none other than alex quackity.

when you turned back, you saw alex curled up between the sheets. as quiet snores escaped his mouth, his hair covered his face. you've completely rolled over and are now facing him. you softly moved the hairs framing his face away with delicate fingers. alex shook his head at the contact, signalling that he was awake.

his arm reached out and curled around your waist, drawing you closer to his body in his slumber. his head brushed against your neck. on your skin, you could feel his warm breath. your hands reach up to play with his hair, occasionally twisting it around your fingers.

as you lay there, no words were exchanged, and it was moments like this that you treasured the most. when you weren't streaming or interacting with other people and tens of thousands of people were watching your every movement. it was just the two of you.

when you look at the man, you would think to yourself, 'home is when im alone with you.' he really did feel like home. you put your cheek against the side of his head, closed your eyes, and drifted off into a soft sleep with the person you love most next to you.

Yn was touched straved waiting for Alex to finish his livestream it was taking him longer than he said it would, so you grumbled and stomped your way into his office just barging in "Alexxxx" "Yn what are you doing" he said muting the stream "you said you'd be done by now" you said in a slightly winy voice you hated when he took longer than he'd said you hated it when he took longer than he'd said. He stood up and moved up to you, hugging you tightly and patting your head, saying, "I'll be there in just a minute mi amour, I just have to say goodbye ok." You agree and return to your bed, where Netflix was waiting with popcorn and fluffy blankets. You overheard Alex respond to a question by saying, "They're my roommates, and they're not feeling well." After a few minutes, you hear him remark, "Thanks for all the wishes chat, I'll make sure to give them your wishes...this is going to be the end of this stream bye guys." You heard his office door open and footsteps approaching you. You watched as Alex walked in, removing his beanie and shoving it over your head. He jumped into your bed and waited for you to cuddle up to him. Once you did, he wrapped his arm around you and made sure you were completely covered in blankets. He put on your favourite show and made sure you were comfortable, which you usually were with Alex. You were grateful he understood your fears of being on camera and would hide it every time you ended up bursting in.  You weren't even watching your show since you were more interested in Alex's hands, which were respectfully placed on your shoulder and waist, with your head on his chest feeling in go up and down with his breathes.You fell asleep cuddling up with him since you were getting incredibly sleepy at that feeling and the sound of his heart pounding at a steady rhythm."Goodnight, little duck," you wanted to reply, but you were too tired. running it up hero! I wrote it within hours of realizing how well the roles fit to one another and it was sooo much fun to puzzle it together.

According to AO3 it’s been 273578 words, which is…. wow. when? I mean, makes sense if you think about how I barely had stuff to do this year, but still….

My doc for free fallin’ in the jungle lights is currently at 42k and it’s nowhere near finished.

Starting to post multichapters before they are finished is scary but also really motivating.

ao3 user Destiel_Sabriel4eva (if anyone knows their tumblr, please tell me!!!) left a really nice comment under the last chapter of i just wanna have fun (and get rowdy), complimenting everything I wanted to achieve with this fic, so that was really great. Generally, there’s so many that made me smile and laugh that I got this year.

23. fics you wanted to write but didn’t

I’d gotten the idea of a Teen Wolf (Thiam, specifically) fic where Mason can see people’s auras, but that one would have required to rewatch two whole seasons of the show, so I didn’t get around to do it yet. Hopefully next year.

Days of Dark by @alecsimon and @katlisha (why won’t tumblr let me tag them) still keeps me awake at night because it was just so good!!!! and connected the materials (Shadowhunters and Amazing Spider-Man) so well!!! I still can’t believe how much it shook me.

Like the Sunrise by @lovelylittlegrim (again tumblr won’t let me tag them, I’m going crazy) was soooo good. Like? The theme? The plot? THE ENDING???? I still think about this regularly.

Then, of course, and I’ve talked about it before: three steps from the ledge by @eliestarr!!! Y’all know I love me some Under the Red Hood and this was just the perfect way of fusioning it with Teen Wolf. Everything made sense, everything was beautifully written, everything was loved by me.

25. a fic you read this year you would recommend everyone read

Sailor’s Sorrow by @robininthelabyrinth! Everything they write is freaking perfect, but this one!!! THIS ONE!!! God, it’s so good. Even if you’re not in the Legends of Tomorrow fandom, it’s fucking incredible how many legends and myths are connected with one another in this fic. It’s just so good, there’s so much going into it and it makes you go OH HOLY HELL WHAT. so often, it’s incredible.

S: Any fandom tropes you can’t resist?

well,,, a lot of Not sfw ones,, but we’re not gonna talk abt that fgdkgfjflgjd, but literally domestic tropes make me so happy?? give me all the fluffy, we’re not family but we will be tropes

other faves: wingfics, darkfic, de-aged characters (bc it’s Chaos usually and i love it), disability fics, and anything with dogs

P: Are you what George R. R. Martin would call an “architect” or a “gardener”? (How much do you plan in advance, versus letting the story unfold as you go?) 

a bit of both!! depends on the fic. for my Service Dogs for Superheroes ‘verse, i am absolutely an architect, but for a lot of my other fics, i’m a gardener. if i end up with a story that’s nowhere near what i intended, then that’s cool!!

O: How do you begin a story–with the plot, or the characters?

ooh, again, depends!! sometimes i get a plot idea and i’m like “i don’t know how i will use this but it will be FUN,” and sometimes i see a character and i go “i don’t know what’s going to happen to you, but let’s see!”

i think most of the times i’m a plot person, i get an idea and just. “anyone else writing this? hmm? no? maybe? well i’m gonna do it hold my mug--”

R: Are there any writers (fanfic or otherwise) you consider an influence?

oh god. uhh yes, so many!! there’s a writer on ff.net that was the reason i started writing heavier topics, so shout out to author Tanglepelt on ff.net for their fic “The Weakest Link” that traumatized me and made my life better tbh

other fic writers that make me wanna do Better: hobbywriting on AO3 and their story “Fear”, arsenicarcher (Arsenic) on AO3 and their story “The Goat’s Back”, romanoff on AO3 and their story “The Draw”, and you, Rux!! your writing makes me wanna cry i love you

let me be the asshole to say it, but i fucking hate genderbend/genderswap as a thing. make them trans for fuck’s sake?? same with mpreg, they can be trans men!! goddamn!! in which case its literally just pregnancy!! i’ll scream i swear to god
