Part five🖤
He started kissing my breasts, my fingers buried in his beautiful black hair. He knew exactly what he was doing and I got more and more impatient. I loosened the strings of his trousers trying to get rid of them. He helped me pulling them down and positioned himself between my legs. He took my hands and intertwined his fingers with mine before he slowly entered me and the stretching sensation was almost too much. He gave me a moment to adjust and looked at me. "I... I love you Y/N. I think that's the name of the feeling. This is how love feels right?" "Yes this is how love feels Stayne and I love you too." We kissed each other again and he slowly started moving his hips. It felt so good and I couldn't help but moan into his mouth which seemed to spur him on. His movements got faster and faster and I could feel that he was already close. I held onto his body for my dear life chasing my own release and it didn't take long for both of us to reach our climax. He lay next to me holding me close to his body, my head resting on his chest. "You have to go Y/N. I won't let that cruel bitch do you any harm I'll help you escape from here." "Come with me Stayne, let's run away together you don't deserve this. You can be happy with me instead of spending the rest of your life here, serving her." "There's nowhere I could go. I'm not welcome in the white queens kingdom my love." "I'll talk to Miranda, she'll understand. You deserve a second chance. Let's go together please Stayne I can't leave you here." there was a moment of silence before he spoke again. "Alright my love, I'll prepare my horse and then we leave, together. I'm ready for a happy life with you." So he did as he said, he saddled his horse and we both left the red queens castle to spend a new life together.
Part one here 🖤

"She loves me! She could never love someone like you!" Time shouted at the taller man, who in turn scoffed at him. "She could never love a thing like you, you are but a machine. What could you possibly offer her?" Stayne argued, making Time growl in annoyance. "I could offer her anything she desires." Time fired back. "And if she desires a child, how will you give her that?" Ilosovic smirked. And Time stood frozen, unsure of what to say. "What is going on in here?" (Y/n) asked with a stern look upon her face, as she barged into the room. Stayne froze in place the same a Time who remained stunned by Staynes previous question. "Well?" (Y/n) crossed her arms waiting for an answer. "We were just-" Time tried, putting on a false smile. "We were just talking about relativity." Stayne cut in, throwing out a random response. "Don't lie to me Ilosovic, I heard what you said, what you both said." (Y/n) hissed at the pair, taking a step back when Stayne tried to approach her. "(Y/n) please." Time tried as he rose from his seat. "Darling." Stayne reached out for her only for the pair to freeze when (Y/n) shouted. "ENOUGH!" She uncrossed her arms, glaring at the pair. "But I love you." Both men replied in unison, their confessions making (Y/n)'s heart ache. "And I you, but I cannot choose between you." She responded softly, her heart torn between the pair. They stood silent, both aware of the truth behind her words. "What if..." Time tried, freezing for a moment when Stayne glared at him. "What if you didn't have to?" Time questioned with a sheepish look upon his face, his words confusing (Y/n) and Stayne both. "What do you mean?" (Y/n) questioned. "Stayne is right... I cannot give you everything... I cannot give you children... But I can love you for all of eternity." (Y/n)'s eyes softened at his words, while Stayne glared daggers. "Stayne could give you children... And though I hate to admit it... He can also offer you happiness." Time continued, trying to ignore the cocky grin that bloomed on Staynes face. "But I cannot make you choose between us... So what if perhaps... Perhaps we could..." Time tried, suddenly finding himself unable to say the words aloud. "Out with it." Stayne insisted. "We could share?..." Time whispered meekly. "Share?" Stayne questioned, tempted to laugh at the notion. "Would both of you actually be willing to do that?" (Y/n) questioned almost as meekly as Time had suggested it. Her question freezing Stayne in his thoughts, wondering if that was something he would be willing to do. "I would." Time insisted, the two of them casting their eyes to Stayne. "Ilosovic?" (Y/n) called to him, his eye snapping to her face. "If it means you'll have me." Stayne smiled at the hopeful look upon (Y/n)'s face. "Then yes I would." He agreed. An uncharacteristic laugh escaping him when (Y/n) hugged him in her excitement.

The Lost Queen {Alice In Wonderland x Reader}
Chapter five: The knave of hearts
The trio was having fun throwing food at each other, Tarrant, the Mad Hatter was watching at them in delight while Alice was in shock. She had never seen y/n so happy before. Unfortunately, this happiness didn't last long. Horses were heard from the distance and a dog barking. The stopped and looked at the source of the sound.
"The knave."said Mally in worry
"Oh no."the March Hare said and tried to hide behind Chessur
"Goodbye~"said Chessur before disappearing into thin air
Tarrant was quick to act, he took a small bottle with yet another strange liquid and gave it to y/n and Alice to drink. This potion made them shrink even smaller. He then took them and put them inside a teapot, cramming their now overlarge clothes in behind them. The Hatter then closed the lid.
The knave got out of his horse and slowly approached the table.
"Well, if it isn't my favourite quartette.... I mean, trio of lunatics. Too bad one's gone. She was a pretty thing, pity."said the knave. It took everything in the group not to open their mouths and assault him
"You're all late for tea!"yelled March Hare and threw a cup at the knave, but he dodged it with his hand and it hit one of the card guards.
Mally and March Hare begun laughing uncontrollably but the knave was unfazed. The knave walked towards Tarrant.
"We're looking for a girl called Alice and... word has it that the princess is back... The Queen would really love to see her sister again."his voice was full of venom
"Speaking of the Queen… here’s a song we used to sing in her honor."said Tarrant, ignoring the knave's comment
"Twinkle Twinkle Little Bat! How I wonder where you’re at!"they sung until the knave, Stayne, grabbed the Hatter around the neck, making the others stop singing.
"If you’re hiding them, you’ll lose your heads."Stayne threatened
"Already lost them."he said and once he realised him and started walking away from him, Mally and March Hare begun laughing and continued singing. Bayard, the bloodhound, went down the table and begun sniffing until he came to Tarrand and sniffed the teapot in his hands and groweld. Tarrant bent down and whispered "Downal with Bloody Behg Hid." The Bloodhound stopped dead. Hatter shot a look at the teapot. The Bloodhound turned around and sniffed again, pretending to catch a new trail and barked.
"Follow the Bloodhound."ordered Stayne and the knights went off to follow Bayard, soon, he went on his horse and left
Once the knave of hearts of and the card guards were out of sight, Tarrant lifted the teapot lid, but closed it again quickly.
"Pardon.."he took a piece of clothing from both girls' dresses and then took a pair of milliner’s scissors from his pocket and quickly whipped up a miniature ensemble for Alice and y/n out of the tea cozy, a doily and a swatch of their old dresses. He lifted the lid again and handed the clothes to them. "Try this on for size."
He closed the lid again to gave them privacy. In a moment, there’s a tiny knock on the lid. He opened it and helped them out in their remade clothes. He looked at them and y/n smiled a little.
"I like it."he said for both dresses
"Hmm... Nifty."y/n commented and she couldn't stop but admire the dress he made in a couple of seconds
"Good thing the bloodhound is one of us or you'd be--"Mally said and she made a gesture of cutting of her head, y/n furrowed her brows
"What do they want with us?"Alice asked but before Tarrant could reply, March Hare interrupted
"Wait a minute, best take them to the White Queen. They'll be safe with the... Spoon.."
Tarrant took off his hat and placed it on the table next to the two girls
"Your carriage, m’ ladies."he said with a warm smile, y/n stepped on it with a grin
"The hat?"Alice asked
"Of course. Anyone can go by horse or rail. But the absolute best way to travel is by Hat. Have I made a rhyme."said Tarrant and the others except for Alice and y/n laughed
"Oh, I love travelling by hat."exclaimed Mally and she happily started walking to the hat but Hatter stopped her
"Mally. Just Alice and y/n, please. Fairfarren all."he said and walked off, with Alice and y/n on the hat, into the forest
Almost half hour later, y/n was sitting on Hatter's shoulder and Alice was on her way down. The forest was very dim, in difference with the rest of Wonderland, and the trees were looking kinda sad or burnt. Y/n could have sworn that she knew this place, since she kinda remembered the dormouse, the hare and the Hatter. Tarrant begun talking in a serious tone.
"‘Twas brillig, and the slithy toves Did gyre and gimble in the wabe: All mimsy were the borogoves, And the mome raths outgrabe."
Alice then hopped down to his shoulder.
"Sorry? What was that?"she asked
"What was what?"he said and looked at her before looking at the distance "The Jabberwock with eyes of flame. The jaws that bite. The claws that catch. Beware of the Jabberwock, my son. And the frumious Bandersnatch. He took his vorpal sword in hand. The vorpal blade went snicker-snack. He left it dead, and with its head. And he went galumping back. It’s all about you two, you know… "
"Me and my sister are not slaying anything."said y/n
"We don’t slay. So put it out of your mind."Alice added, he stopped in his tracks
"Mmm…mind."he muttered, he then took them and placed them down on a tree stump before heading away
"Wait.!"y/n shouted
"You can’t leave us here!"
The Hatter turned around to face them
"You don’t slay… Do you have any idea what the Red Queen has done?"he looked at y/n "What your sister has done?"he then mimicked them "You "don’t slay""
"We couldn’t if we wanted to."they said
"You two are not the same as you were before. You two were much more… much more muchier... you’ve lost your muchness."
"My muchness?"the girls repeated in a mumble, Tarrant poked them in the stomach with his fingers.
"In there. Something’s missing. From both of you.."
"Tell us what Red Queen has done."said Alice
"It’s not a pretty story."
"You said that she is my sister. Please...tell us."
//Hatter's Flashback//
The Hatter stood with his clan: the Hightopps. Every one, adults and children, was wearing top hats. The mood was festive, although the mourn, of the princess and rightful -but lost- queen was gone, was still upon them. The White Queen was sitting on her white horse with other members of her court, including the White Rabbit, March Hare, Cheshire Cat. The White Knight held the shining Vorpal Sword and he was by his wife, the Enchantress. The woods turned dark as enormous leathery wings blocked the sun. Faces filled with awe as they watched the fearsome creature. The Knight, stunned by its magnitude, dropped the sword and fleed. Panic ensued. The Enchantress begun crying and her eyes turned red and begun striking the creature with lighting storms. People ran as the Jabberwocky shot fire at them and at the Enchantress. The Queen’s horse reared. The Hatter grabbed the reins and led her to safety. He looked back, the Jabberwocky right into the heart and she fell down dead. The White Rabbit helped the others escape. The March Hare looked up, shocked into paralysis. The Cheshire Cat hovered near to the Hightopp clan who stood together to protect the children. But as the Jabberwocky descended upon them, the Cat disappeared. The Knave picked up the fallen Sword. He lifted it victoriously and the Jabberwocky retreated. A moment later, the Hatter returned to the scene, face filled with shock and horror at the place where his clan took their stand. The earth still smoldered while everything was still on fire.
//Ending of Hatter's Flashback//
The two women were deeply moved. They looked up at the scorched Hat he still wore, then to his tormented face. He twitched, driven to the edge of madness by guilt, helpless rage and deep loss. Y/n felt like she knew of that stuff. The Enchantress... The Vorpal Sword... Red Queen... Jabberwocky... Y/n's eyes filled with tears as flashbacks of her memories went through her head and she looked around the place in horror. Recognizing it.
~Flashback~
"Iracebeth, enough!"yelled king Oleron, interrupting his daughter from finishing her sentence "Iracebeth. I had always hoped that you would one day show the necessary qualities to become the queen you were born to be. I realize now that day will never come."he then turned to the crowd "People of Witzend. Upon my death, my crown will pass..."he looked at Iracebeth one more time before gesturing behind him to y/n "... to the princess y/n."
Y/n looked at her father in shock and there at Mirana to help her. They both stood up and walked to their father.
"Father...no."said Mirana
"Please don't do this."begged y/n
"That's not fair!"shouted Iracebeth and they turned their attention back on her "I'm the eldest!"
"You are unfit to rule, Iracebeth."
"I hate you."sneered Iracebeth as she looked to all her family "I hate you all!" As she said that, her head became bigger and everyone gasped. When she was about to leave she came to a halt and made her way to the Hightopp family "Oh! And I shall not forget you, you sniggering Hightopps! No! I shall wreak, a terrible revenge." That made them look at her in fear and she started once again making her way out "Vile... Slow.." Mirana tried to stop her.
"Racie?"
"Oh don't 'Racie' me. You started it!"y/n looked at Mirana curiosly as Iracebeth came threateningly to Mirana "Why don't you tell them the truth?"Mirana did not answer "I didn't think so." she then turned her attention to y/n and ran towards her "I know that you and your foolish friends of yours are laughing behind my back. Say it, sister."
"We are doing what!? Racie, we are not laughing at you--"
"Oh shut up will you? I know that deep inside, you are laughing at me just like your friends did today."
"They might be my friends but that doesn't mean I find it funny, but if you wish to know the truth, you are scaring me. Your behaviour today. I did not recognize you... I do not know who you are anymore..."
"You will."sneered Iracebeth
~End of Flashback~
Y/n's sobs turned into tears of hate as she placed her head in her hands
"Murderess! What has she done?!"she said, infuriated. Tarrant and Alice were looking at her in worry. "My big sister has grown into a monster-- no.. A murderess. How many?"
"A thousand... Maybe more."he replied saddly, y/n ran up to him, jumped and hugged him
"I should have been here.... All these years... I should have been here with our people... With my friends, with you guys... I can't believe that Mirielle is gone. That everyone is gone. Tell me that this is a nightmare."
"I'm afraid no... At least you are back. You and Alice."
"Why did I have to search into that damn rabbit hole... If I didn't, then I would be here... Maybe things would have gone different, I could help Mirielle... Or I would die... But at least I would die with some of our people, fighting."
"Never say that again, n/n."said Alice sternly "If you did... then we wouldn't be sisters... And princess or not, your life matters equally. It's sad that so many are gone but you can still fight. For you, your friends and people."y/n smiled a little and hugged Alice, the hug was short lived when Tarrant and y/n heard something.
"Did you hear that?"y/n asked
"Yes... I’m certain I heard something."Tarrant said
"Voices?"Alice asked nervously
The Hatter and y/n looked back at the dark woods
"Red Knights!"Tarrant declared, they heard the bay of the bloodhound. The Hatter put y/n and Alice into his breast pocket and ran
The Hatter hid behind a tree as the Red Knights passed. He continued running until he stopped in front of a lake with a tree on the other side. He swept his hat off and placed Alice and y/n on it.
"Go south to Trotters Bottom. The White Queen’s castle is just beyond. Hold on tight you two."he whispered
"Wait. Tarrant, no. I won't let you do this alone."y/n said but it was too late the Hatter flinged his arms wide, sending the Hat with Alice and y/n on the top on the other side of the lake
"DOWN WITH THE BLOODY RED QUEEN!" he shouted proudly as the Red Knights circled him
The Hat landed in the soft grass, the two women looked on the other side and saw that Tarrant was surrounded and then he was taken to the Red Queen's castle. Rage filled y/n's chest. She knew her sister had some anger management issues and that she was the laughing stock because of her... head. It was getting dark, so both women decided to take some sleep before continuing their adventure.

The Fight
warning : blood/wounds, angst, hurt/comfort, mention of death
next chapter, masterlist
----------------------------
Despite that it was in Wonderland just noon so exactly you could never know in the world. Was already a gray and foggy cloud cover over their sky which turned everything into a bleak gray.
Even the flora and fauna of the world had retreated on this day of decision and the only colors that dominated the wonderland were white and red. But the heroine and her guardian belonged to the white queen, to the happiness of the prophecy and all the inhabitants, and would end everything today.
The sisters' quarrel would continue, but it was a family matter that concerned no one but the two queens. Mirana with her entourage moved slowly but not sluggishly, it seemed as if she herself wanted to delay the fight. Whether it was because of fear or because of her sister, not even Tarrant or Alice, let alone Y/N, could say.
But her friends remained silent, one could hear a giggle from the rabbit or Tarrant telling Alice a joke to calm her down, but apart from them everything was quiet. Even Y/N felt the tension in her belly rise with every step the horse took. Her love Stayne must have felt this too. He didn't tell any jokes, but his hands stroked her soothingly every now and then and his arms closed around her more often.
It was his way of showing that he loved her and that she would be protected. But Y/N thought it was just right and considering his past what he gave her was more than enough. ,,You almost for the hundredth time to your ring, what's wrong dear?" came the quiet question to her ear. Her fingers slid from the ring to his leather gloved hand and squeezed it lightly. ,,I'm just nervous, that's all," she returned.
But what it really was she had only understood when she started riding and had not let go since then. She knew that if she didn't find an answer soon, she might not be able to fulfill her prophecy. The conversation with Absolem came into her head and she realized that once again there was no way out. When the battle was over, she and Alice would have to go home again.
They had everything they wanted down here in Wonderland, love and friends. But they had another life which was not so wonderful but they also had people who loved them. She had not told her knight about it because she could not quite estimate how he would react but he would certainly not find it good.
In the worst case she thought that he would lock her away simply out of fear that she would leave him and never come back. She had already experienced the change into one eye as with the hatter. She didn't really want to know what it would be like with Stayne.
But she also knew that she would have to tell him after the fight at the latest. She had no idea how to get home with Alice, but they would find something. The knight seemed to want to say something at first, but he left it and concentrated back on riding.
A glance at Alice told her that the girl must have similar worries besides the fight, because when their eyes met she saw nothing but her own fear. But she tried to concentrate on her matter and tried to recognize the surroundings around her. They must be at the end of the forest, gradually the trees became smaller and were replaced by bushes and shrubs. In front of her she saw an area that had an old tower or castle ruins on its left side.
This had to be the place where the battle took place. The path became dusty and with each step drier and withered as if even the ground was fleeing from the horrible battles of the field. The battlefield itself consisted of a huge chessboard which, however, showed old cracks and dirt.
Who knows how long it had been since there had been any fighting here, or how long it had taken for Blumertag to arrive. When they entered the board she felt the mood of the whole group swinging and everyone seemed to be tearing up with tension.
She herself did it as well, although one could die in Wonderland, but her cousin still held on to her idea of a dream sometimes. But that doesn't make it any less real or painful, Y/N decided. The queen and her entourage stopped short of the middle of the field and came to a halt. Mirana dismounted from her horse and walked to the center with Tarrant, who had also stood up.
At first she thought that the red queen would not appear. However, when she heard a par of red flags with a red rose and a par of trumpets, she knew she was wrong. After Mirana's modest appearance, her sister made a winning show of it.
The battle was not won but not lost, yet the red queen seemed sure of her victory. Iracebeth got out of her carriage, which was carried by her subjects, and instead of Stayne at her side, the executioner who did the beheading trudged along beside her. Y/N felt her pulse rise and her hands sweat and tremble slightly.
The scenes of the interaction on the day of her death came up and she practically felt sick. ,,Don't worry, he's the first to die at my hands. Don't worry Y/N, you know I'll protect you from anything." The knight's words actually did their job and she became calmer, still nervous but calmer.
Nevertheless, her fingers quickly slid to her neck where the stains of the man's big paw had disappeared but seemed to do so again due to the encounter. ,,I told you I would protect you, so stop worrying. Everything will be fine," Stayne said before planting a kiss on her neck and then rising from his horse.
As he had done before, he held out his hand to help her dismount. ,,Lady Y/N I have something else for you, the queen has ordered you to wear this shield. The white rabbit hopped to the couple and a soldier appeared behind them. This one held a silver shield with a white heart as decoration on it and a sword also with the same decoration.
The girl took the weapons with reverence and put them on. ,,They are just right for you," Stayne encouraged her. Indeed, the weapons felt right in her hand, which relieved her. Stayne pulled her into a final kiss before the pair parted and went their separate ways on the field.
Y/N stood next to Alice who was consulting while the two sisters were still negotiating, or at least trying to. ,,Don't worry, just think about your six impossible things. Everything will work out". Her cousin smiled at her while the two family members waited for the queens to finish.
This they also became although they went apart with a quarrel however how should it also differently one. ,,Here with I the white rabbit declare the flower day and the decisive battle as opened. May both queens achieve their best with troops."
After the rabbit announced the start of the battle, the silver soldiers stepped up and assembled behind Alice and Y/N. ,,You two little ingrates will be the first to be killed by the Jabberwocky today". Shortly after she said this, the earth shook and behind the queen on a hill the creature seemed to come to life. Although all the fighters had their shields and swords ready, they didn't seem to be of much use in the face of the beast.
Alice, who was concentrating on the Jabberwocky and the mantra she kept saying to herself, did not see the arrow shot by the queen approach. Y/N, who still had to fulfill her duty, rushed in front of her cousin and blocked the projectile with her shield. She faltered briefly, but held her ground.
A smile crept on her lips as she realized that she could still manage to fulfill her prophecy. ,,Why isn't she dead? Give me another arrow right now, I want it to rain arrows!" the queen shouted. ,,Alice, you go ahead and I'll do the rest," she told her cousin, who concentrated on herself again. In fact, a storm of arrows rained down on her that was worse than the one that hit her during her escape.
She raised her shield, but she couldn't take her eyes off Stayne, who, by the way, didn't have a shield. But he didn't need it with his blows, he split the arrows in half and protected himself. Alice and Y/N had also survived, although their armor had a few scratches, but the metal was better than they were.
The queen's gaze wandered over her opponents and remained fixed on Stayne. ,,You wretched traitor, how long has your heart belonged to her? I loathe you and all that you are. Jabberwocky kill Stayne and after that burn everything and everyone!" Fear was visible in the eye of Stayne, who was not quite able to cope with the situation. ,,Alice, you have to kill him first, otherwise the prophecy and everything in the future will not be true!" Her cousin understood and was about to run to Stayne with her cousin by her side when the first barrage of cards came towards them. Mirana also dispatched her soldiers and the Hatter made a beeline for the Executioner.
Cursing, the two girls threw themselves into the action to fight their way to Stayne. Stayne had landed a hit on the beast, but it only caused him to bleed minimally. It was obvious that it was not his prophecy to fight the beast. Y/N just dodged a blow from a card before knocking it back and driving the sword into the soldier's armor, knocking him to the ground.
Her gaze wandered back in fright to Stayne, who couldn't see the monster's tail approaching through his eye. ,,Stayne, be careful to your left!" she shouted to him. But it was too late, he turned around and tried to block the attack with a yank of his longsword, but in vain. The knight was hurled across the field with full force and came to rest at the lowest part of the ruin.
She searched for Alice in the turmoil. She found her busy with a map, but again it was obvious that Alice should not fight against maps. Y/N panicked again and made her way through the crowd before arriving at her cousin's house. ,,Alice, we must fulfill your prophecy. Hurry up or it will be too late!" she yelled at her cousin again.
Alice finished the map with the help of Y/N and both girls ran across the battlefield to Stayne without incident. The Jabberwocky lurked menacingly above Stayne and seemed to want to kill him every second with its fire. ,,Hey creature, I'm the one you're supposed to kill!" Alice yelled at him before running up the ruins.
The monster apparently understood who it was and started to chase Alice. Y/N ran to her friend before falling to her knees and pulling him to her. ,,Hey Stayne, say something please. I don't want to almost lose you again. Please say something!" she begged her knight. Beside the sounds of battle and the roar of the beast, the couple remained quiet. The Jack of Hearts had his eye closed and just lay silently and quietly in her arms.
The girl pressed her ear to his chest in panic and could hear a faint yet steady heartbeat. Considering the situation, this was more than good for him being thrown against the rocks. ,,Y/N I told you to take care of yourself. Now you have suffered a wound due to my carelessness. Just leave me here." Her eye, which were closed, opened and she hugged her friend who then made a painful sound. ,,By the great head of the queen, I thought I had almost lost you again.
Stayne don't joke about your situation, I would never leave you here. Besides, the wound is my own and not your fault so don't blame yourself please." The knight seemed to calm down a bit after the couple took a minute break because that was all they could afford.
Y/N helped her knight up who was holding his side hissing but still quite fit. ,,It's alright Y/N, I'll get Iracebeth now and then the fight will be over for me". The guard wanted to protest, but since Alice was fighting the Jabberwocky as predicted, her duty was done. ,,Then, let me help you, you're hurt, and I won't take no for an answer." The Jack of Hearts seemed to want to resist, but after realizing that he probably couldn't do it alone, he agreed.
The couple fought their way through the crowd, even though it was slow, until they were a few meters away from the queen. ,,Iracebeth it ends now everything you have created will perish and you will lose!" Stayne shouted at her before drawing his sword and charging at her.
Y/N, who overheard this, remembered Mirana's words and drew hers as well. ,,Stayne stop, you know what Mirana said!" she tried to explain to the Jack of Hearts. But Stayne seemed to be in a frenzy and overheard her. Instead, he madly slashed his way through the map that had been rushed to her queen's aid. With a curse, she ran around the cards and her knight before standing before Iracebeth.
She still clutched a crossbow and aimed at the girl with fear in her eyes. ,,One step closer, traitor, and your head will be pierced by this!" she hissed at Y/N. The girl did as she was ordered and stopped at her point. ,,Listen to me Stayne will not stop until you are dead. You can trust me or die here!" she quickly explained. Iracebeth was still holding the crossbow at her, but she saw how the queen was struggling inside.
But this took too long and before Y/N could draw her sword, Stayne's came into her field. With a clean cut the crossbow landed on the ground together with the queen's hand. The fingers twitched slightly before the knight stepped on them. The red queen cried out and held the stump of her hand that wouldn't stop bleeding. ,,Come on, run!" she shouted at Iracebeth.
She seemed to be released from her stiffness and disappeared into her own ranks. ,,Stayne, enough, you have hurt her. I know she deserves to die, but think what this means to you. You can't slaughter your way through this like a madman. Please listen to me and put down the sword. Everything can still be alright!". The knight, who remained in the position, slowly turned to Y/N.
Her suspicions were confirmed, his eyes had a manic expression and were dark. ,,Stayne, this is not you, please listen to me. I will not leave you trust me everything will be fine!" But her words only did the wrong thing. The knight of hearts fell into his laughter which was consumed by so much pain and anger that it frightened Y/N.
The knight strode menacingly towards her, radiating only madness. ,,Y/N she deserves to die but first she must suffer. Have you forgotten what she did to me, what she wanted to do to you? Do I have to tell you again and again what she did. This woman must die, she will die and she will die through me.
By her own creation. Besides, everything you said was a lie, you will leave me at the latest when you return to your world with Alice. Don't lie to me, I can't bear to be alone again." Y/N understood what he felt, how betrayed and deceived he must have felt at that moment.
She felt bad for not bringing it up earlier, but her fear won out. ,,Stayne, please I am not lying to you, I just wanted to spare you the pain. You've been through so much I didn't want to make it worse. But look at what you have created yourself, you have created me and you together. You created your love. Please stop and put the sword away!" The knight who was still tremblingly clutching it just looked at her. But like Iracebeth, he was fighting with himself inside.
Slowly and carefully, Y/N approached her lover and touched his cheek. She put her hand on it and tentatively stroked his pale skin, which was stained with drops of blood. Everything will be fine, look at me and then decide if I am lying.
Ilosovic Stayne fixed his eyes on the two of Y/N before he placed his head longingly in her hand. The sword fell to the ground with a clang and once again, along with the other sounds, there was silence between the two. The knight bent down to Y/N and breathed a kiss on her forehead. ,,Please forgive me Y/N, I didn't mean to hurt you. It just got away from me. Please forgive me I don't want you to leave." But Y/N knew that if she said anything now it would only be a lie.
Instead, she pulled his hand to hers and they just stood there in silence. ,,How should it go on now do you know what happens now Stayne?" But the addressed one only shook his head. ,,No Y/N, for the first time I have no idea what will happen next". So it came that the two off the field just stood there until there was a deafening scream.
The head of the beast flew to the ground and Alice had managed to defeat the Jabberwocky. Along with the Jabberwocky, the cards also came to a halt and the white queen had won.
Gradually the crowd dispersed and the cards and soldiers stood off the field waiting for their orders. The queen's entourage had saved themselves to Mirana's side and were cheering happily and already planning celebrations. The group of Mirana, Tarrant, Alice, Rabbit, Hare, Mouse and Dog had gathered in the middle.
They were joined by Stayne and Y/N who were still walking hand in hand next to each other. ,,Has anyone seen my sister?" Mirana asked. This was answered when two cards dragged the struggling Iracebeth behind them. ,,Let me go, I am your queen. Hear you roll heads for this!" Of course, these were empty threats, but they were still threats.
When Mirana saw the non-existent part of her sister's hand, she immediately looked at Stayne. ,,You were the one I thought I made clear when I said I wanted her alive," despite the fact that she didn't scream, venom dripped from her tongue. ,,You have Mirana, but for me she is still very much alive, don't you think? The white queen glared at him before she went back to her sister and wanted to help her, but she was well taken care of. ,,Since I am now queen of Wonderland, I will decide on your crimes. Since I do not kill, I will banish you forever."
She turned away from her sister before she turned to Stayne and Y/N. ,,You, Jack of Hearts, have fought bravely for me, your deeds are forgiven, but if you make another mistake, you will meet the same fate as your former queen." Stayne was satisfied with this and remained silent. Now the time came when it would end and Alice and Y/N would have to leave Wonderland, but only Wonderland knew what that would look like.

YES YES YES!!! Your awesome for adding more characters! I love Thomas and his characters very much, but you have added someone who I absolutely adore and I never knew anyone else liked him! Please can you write a story about the knave of hearts? I've had a crush on the actor since I watched him in the old Charlie's angels movie, and he's brilliant as the knave of hearts! Maybe the plot could be you as a prisoner because you are a friend of Alice, and he falls madly in love with you! Maybe with a steamy scene in the prison cell? ;) thank you thank you xxx 🧡
I'm so glad to hear that you like the new additions to my writing list. You have no idea how much I love and adore Crispin Glover anon. He was amazing as the knave of hearts and I loved him as Mr. World in 'American Gods' as well . I'm beyond excited to write that story for you and I hope you enjoy it. I'm sending much love to you 🖤
I didn't know how much time had passed since Alice and I arrived in wonderland. We were friends for years and no matter what trouble we got into, we were always there for each other even if I was a few years older than her. After the cheshire cat led us to the mad hatter he helped us on our journey to meet the white queen and so it happened that we found each other at a strange tea party with a mouse and a rabbit. I was sitting next to Alice listening to the rambling of the rabbit when the Cheshire cat sensed something. "Oh oh..." he just said and started to disappear. Suddenly the sound of hooves was heard. The hatter managed to give Alice a drink that let her shrink but there was no way for me to escape. The hatter hid her in one of the empty tea pots and then I saw the sillouette of the mysterious rider. He got down from his horse and approached us. "Oh no this is the knave of hearts." Malynkum whispered in my ear. The knave of hearts that meant the red queen was sending him to search for Alice. "Well isn't that my favorite trio of lunatics." the tall man said standing in front of the table. I couldn't help myself but look him up and down. He was wearing a black armor and a heart shaped eyepatch. His skin was pale and he had beautiful black locks. His good eye scanned the table until it finally landed on me. He tilted his head, stood beside my chair and bowed down to look at me.

Sooo......I may have been the one who asked you about the character vs character question, thank you for answering that by the way. And I love your choices! Especially taligaro! How would you feel about writing a story where they fight over you? I bet taligaro would beat the knave hands down! Xxx
Oh I really like that request. I'll absolutely write that for you🖤 I'm glad you liked my character choice. 🙏
Being the first female instructor for the royal army was amazing. It took a little time until I got the respect I earned but now, nobody questioned my decisions anymore. It was a sunny afternoon when I taught my soldiers how to parry enemy attacks when suddenly queen Mirana approached us. "My queen, is there anything I can help you with?" "Oh Y/N, there's no need for formalities. I was just taking a walk and thought it would be interesting for you to hear that the general and Stayne are fighting each other in the courtyard." "Excuse me, they do what?" I asked. "Oh yes and I heard your name very often. Would you be so kind and go check on them before someone gets hurt?" "Of course my queen." then I turned to my soldiers "You are dismissed, we see each other tomorrow." with that I ran over to the courtyard where Tal and Stayne were having a heated argument. "What on earth are you doing? Queen Mirana said she saw you fighting, what is this all about?" I said and turned their attention to me. Stayne took a few steps towards me, giving me a friendly smile. "First of all it's lovely to see you Y/N the general and I were talking about the upcoming festivities and of course I told him that you should definitely go with someone who knows manners and how to behave, someone like me." "Bullshit Y/N and I know each other since we were kids. She'll choose me of course." Tal said. "Stop it both of you! So you want to tell me that all this drama is just about who I'm going to the ball with? Have you even considered asking me for a second?" they both looked at each other. "I take that as a no. Really guys this is so unnecessary." I said shaking my head. "Of course I thought about having a word with you Y/N but the heart of a lovely woman like you deserves to be captured by a real man, so I challenge you general Taligaro to a duell for the hand of the lovely Y/N!" "Oh yeah? Well you can have that Stayne I'll kick your ass so hard your grandchildren won't be able to sit properly." Tal said holding out his sword.I sighed "Alright listen if this is the only way for you to solve this, so be it. But please don't hurt each other we have to train the new recruits. Alright get in fighting stance aaaand go." As soon as I gave them the signal they both started lunging at each other and the sound of metal clashing on metal echoed through the courtyard. Stayne was a giant compared to Tal and it looked like he had the upper hand but Tal was fast and agile. He managed to block most of his attacks and landed a few hits himself. He was so fast that Stayne lost his focus, stumbled and fell to the ground. Taligaro standing above him holding his sword to his throat. "Okay that's enough, Tal you won. Come take my hand Stayne I help you up." I said pulling him to his feet "Soooo does that mean we're going to the ball together?" Tal asked wearing a huge smile. I rolled my eyes at him. "Yes Tal that means we're going to the ball under one condition, you two will behave and at least try to get along alright? You cost me a whole training session today. So if you'd excuse me I have to be somewhere else." with that I made my way to the quarters wearing a smile on my face, I mean who could say that two handsome men are fighting each other because of you.

"That's a ridiculous question. Do you finally want to talk about Alice?" he asked with a slight blush on his cheeks. "No I already told you everything." he sighed and put his hands around the bars. "Y/N please listen to me. I can't do anything for you if you stay stubborn. If you admit that you know Alice you'll just end up...". "Like you?" I asked putting my hands over his. "I'd rather be dead than serving her for the rest of my life." I said looking directly in his eye. He swallowed hard opening his mouth to say something but not a single word came out. He looked at the floor shaking his head. He gave me one last look before he disappeared again. I woke up to someone putting a blanket over me. I sat up and saw Stayne, wearing a normal black shirt and trousers. "I don't know what you did to me but I can't stop thinking about you. I'm the one who put you in this cell. I brought you here and you still care about me. I don't know what this feeling is but it kind of hurts... in a good way. Y/N I can't let you die here. I couldn't take it...What is wrong with me? " he asked kneeling down before me. I took his face in my hands gently stroking his cheeks." There's nothing wrong with you Stayne, absolutely nothing. You're not a bad guy you're just doing what you're told. And I know that feeling you're describing, I feel it too." Our eyes meet again and before I knew it I felt his lips on mine. The kiss was wonderful, starting slow and sensual but got more and more demanding. He gently pushed me down on the blanket climbing on top of me." Oh Y/N my dear I can't hold back anymore I need to have you tonight. Please will you be mine ?" I gave him a warm smile and nodded. "Yes, I wanna be yours Stayne." his lips were on mine again, our hands were all over each others bodies. Caressing every newly revealed skin. He stopped for a moment taking in the sight of my naked body before him. "You're beautiful Y/N like an angel. I can't believe you're all mine." "I'm all yours Stayne, only yours." he buried his face in my neck, placing soft kisses on the sensitive skin and it felt like heaven. I let my fingers glide over his back pulling him closer to me. I felt his arousal through his trousers and started rubbing myself over his crotch which made us both moan in response.

"Aaahhh Stayne! I was wondering when you would return. Did you find her? Is that Alice?" the red queen asked looking at us. He got down on one knee his head hanging low. I didn't want to get myself in more trouble than I already was so I did the same. "I'm afraid not my queen,but I found this girl. Her name is Y/N she says she doesn't know Alice but I think she's lying." the queen got up and approached us. She put two fingers under my chin so I had to look at her, she mustered me and turned to him. "I didn't know you could disappoint me that much Stayne. I trusted you." "I know my queen but..." he could finish cause the queen slapped him across his face which caused me to gasp in shock. "Take her into the dungeon and try to get informations. You have five days before her head will be chopped off." He looked at her in shock "But my queen isn't she more valuable when she's alive?" "Shut up, you heard me Stayne five days. Now get out of my sight." "Yes my queen." he said got back to his feet, guiding me down to the dungeons. He pushed me into a cell and locked the door behind me. He turned to leave but hesitated for a second before he turned around again. "You should really think about telling the truth Y/N. Your life is in danger." he said looking at me a hint of sadness in his eye. "You already know my answer. I have nothing else to say." "You're such a stupid girl." I laughed "You're calling me stupid Stayne? You are serving a queen that just cares about herself. The way she treated you up there... I don't think you deserve this." "You don't know anything about me. I'm coming back tomorrow, maybe a night in the dungeons will clear your head." with that he stomped away. I sat down leaning my back against the wall. I was desperately hoping that Alice was akright and I couldn't stop thinking about Stayne, he didn't seem like a bad guy I think he was a prisoner himself, sentenced to serve a queen that didn't appreciate him. I didn't know how much time had passed when I heard footsteps coming down the stairs. I got up looking through the bars and saw Stayne walking towards my cell carrying a tray. "I hope the night got some sense into you Y/N." he said bowing down to push the tray under the bars when I noticed a bruise on his face. It must be from the slap yesterday. "Oh my, does it hurt bad?" I asked gently touching his face looking at the bruise. He completely froze when I touched him. He put his hand over mine closing his eyes for a second I bet no one had touched him without hurting him for a long time. But then he shook his head as if he's coming out of a trance.

"This face isn't familiar to me. It seems there's an addition to your little party. What is your name young lady?" "My name is Y/N and yours?" he laughed throwing his head back. "I like that attitude on you. My name is Ilosovic Stayne but you might know me as the knave of hearts. How does it happen we never met before?You must know dear Y/N I know everyone in wonderland." "Well maybe I'm just good in avoiding people?" he smiled took a strand of my hair in his hand playing with it. "Or, you don't belong here Y/N. Let me ask you something, do you happen to know a girl named Alice who's roaming around the wonderland messing with my queens nerves? " he asked his eye focused on every expression on my face. I pretended to think for a second then I shook my head." No, never heard of her. " I said. Suddenly he hit the table with his fist, his face coming closer to mine." I would not recommend you to lie to me Y/N, lying leads me to get very angry. So once again, do you know a girl named Alice?" Now I was looking at him, I had to do something, Alice needed time to get away so I decided to provoke him. "Even if I knew her I wouldn't tell you a single word." he had enough now, his face muscles twitching in anger. "Enough! You're coming with me, maybe the queen will get some answers out of you." with that he took me by my arm and dragged me to his horse. He helped me up and sat behind me. The cold feeling of his armor on my back sent shivers down my spine. I looked back to the others before he put an arm around my waist and gave his horse the spurs. The grip of his arm was strong and held me in place. When we arrived at the red queens castle he jumped down from his horse and held his hand out for me. I took it and he helped me down. Then he took my wrist and started walking "You should behave and obey before the queen. You have no idea what she's capable of." he said. His tone was a different one than before.

The dinner
warning : light angst , fluff , comfort ,
next chapter , masterlist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The light in Wonderland submerged, leaving behind a completely new world once again. The plants and even some animals began to glow in bright colorful colors. The same was true of the castle and its furnishings.
The torches and candles and chandeliers were all lit and lanterns were hung so that people could see where they were going in the dark nights. This bathed the castle in a soft glow that made the heart-shaped decorations shine in their own glory. However, despite the cozy atmosphere, this was not to be found in Y/N's room.
She had also fastened the small hat to her hair with a simple grip, which now rested on her head. Although she had managed to put on the new black undergarment and not to dislocate herself too much. On the other hand, she despaired of the ribbons of her black dress with the hearts on it that had to be tied together at her back.
Only when she had opened the door to her bathroom she was slightly startled to find the Jack of Hearts in her room, who had entered her private chambers and seemed to be watching her. ,, Lady Ähm, I was sent to pick you up but I see you need some help" came the calm voice of the man who was looking at her back that he saw in the mirror that was behind Y/N. The girl was again in her mind's eye when she saw the man in her room.
The girl had in her mind's eye again the memory of the kiss with the knight which made her avoid his gaze. ,,Yes that would be nice," she said quietly, trying not to stammer. Which she did not do and it had happened to her at home only a few times when she was under stress, but she still wanted to avoid it so as not to appear weak or even hurt in front of the knight.
The girl stood in front of the mirror and the knight followed so that he stood behind her again and watched her through the mirror again. Also the Y/Ec eyes of the girl flitted over the features of the knight behind her. They were no longer confused, it seemed, and radiated calm and contentment. She then took a look at the knight's outfit, which hadn't changed much, except that he had taken off his silver chain mail and replaced the red heart above his eye with a black one.
Her gaze was about to turn away when she felt the knight's blistered fingers brush across her back. The knight seemed to have taken note of her reaction as his smile reappeared. ,,Lady Ähm, you look beautiful tonight, you could even compete with the white queen or Em from Empöringen," came the soft voice that gave her goosebumps again.
Now a smile played around her lips as if by itself, ,,Thank you Stayne, you look pretty yourselves the change from black to red makes you look even more noble. But if you don't mind me asking, have you ever seen the white queen, what is she like?" came the innocent question of the girl who was hoping for some information and some more time with the knight.
Ilosovic Stayne paused for a moment as if thinking carefully about what to say next. ,,Well, she is graceful, beautiful, respectful and full of love for everyone even for her sister whom you wanted to meet so much. But above all, she knows how to treat everyone with respect and asks nothing for your company. But we should hurry now we don't want to be late and lose our heads don't we beauty?" After the knight had finished speaking he let go of her dress which was now tied in a bow not too tightly so as not to breathe but not too loosely that it would slip.
The man went to the door where he held it open for Y/N as he had done a few hours ago. The girl smiled and nodded her thanks before walking next to the boy and trying not to stare at him too much. ,,If I may advise you to eat everything she serves you tonight it would be better for you and for everyone" she thanked for the advice before they arrived in front of two more huge doors that didn't tell Y/N anything. ,,I thought the dinner was going to take place in the hall or in one of the rooms inside the castle?" came the girl's quick question, which could have put the first crimp in her plan. The knight looked down at her before answering in his stern tone, ,,No, the queen thought it would be a good idea to have it in the garden with dancing and theater as an amusing touch to the meal".
Before Y/N could say anything again, the doors were pushed open again and the huge rose garden with the most exotic figures from the hedges and red roses came out. Beside the flowers, torches were placed everywhere and an area of black and white tiles appeared in the middle of their own little kingdom.
On it stood the long table where the queen and Alice were already sitting and the poor girl had to listen to the boring stories of the red-haired girl. ,,Ah Ilosovic Stayne and Lady Ähm I'm glad that both of you have finally appeared, sit down and do it a little quickly, I'm hungry!" came the queen's scream, who was immediately served the first course. The last two guests also sat down, the knight sitting next to the queen and Alice on the other side of the queen.
Y/N, however, decided to seize the situation and sat down next to Stayne. She glanced at Stayne several times, but focused on the roasted frog's legs, which seemed to be more interesting than she was. ,,Your Majesty, how do we get this delicious meat, it is very interesting on the tongue" this was partly true, in fact it did not taste horrible as she feared. But since she had such a faint idea where the thighs came from, it rather spoiled her appetite.
The queen grinned furtively as she took another bite before taking a quick look at her subordinates, who just happened to be frogs and fish today. ,,Well my dear, I am glad to hear and see that you like it. You can thank this specimen for the delicious meat. This lowly creature had a few unnecessary relatives that took up too much space, so help yourself, there is more than enough supply" she finished her sentence with an inviting gesture to her subjects who were looking straight ahead with fear in their eyes.
The girl just smiled back before putting down her fork and silently drinking the red wine served by the queen. The only good thing about this table was sitting next to Stayne. The other reason was the wine tasted sweet just like fresh strawberries and smelled of roses. She took another sip but stopped when she felt cool fingers sliding up her legs. Not wanting to let on, she finished the rest of the wine before watching Stayne out of the corner of her eye.
Stayne, however, was sipping from his transparent glass of red liquid and gazing with his eye over the lighted garden. She gathered her courage and brought her own hand under the table, tapping Stayne's hand almost fearfully. Stayne seemed to understand before he put his big hand over her small one and made it look almost protective. ,,Well then, let's not postpone the meal until later, how about we dance a little now, or at best we dance while you amuse us, and we dance now!" came the queen's imperious tone. Y/N felt the knight pull his hand away and automatically go to his queen to lead her to the black dance floor.
Y/N looked at her cousin and scurried over to her before whispering in her ear, ,,We'll start the plan soon when she's either distracted or too drunk to notice. I'll try Stayne you start getting the others." Alice nodded and waited a few minutes before staggering over to the queen and telling her she felt sick. The queen gave her a disgusted look before Alice disappeared into the castle, leaving Y/N alone with the queen and Stayne.
The girl allowed herself another glass of wine which was only there to pass the time. To her surprise, some kind of program was actually taking place. Several servants were playing a play in which the queen was victorious over the white one and Alicehead were cut of. When the servants dropped a head of various fruits, which was supposed to represent the cause of death, it only made a squishy sound.
The queen then fell into a hearty laugh as she leaned on Stayne. Y/N nodded encouragingly to her before she also let out a laugh to lighten the mood. This continued for some time until a servant crept up to the queen and whispered something in her ear. ,,She has what, why isn't that miserable mutt with us and where is that miserable traitor. I want a meeting in the main hall and I want it now or heads will roll. Stayne, you stay here, we don't want our most precious ally to leave us!" the queen shouted at her servants and her boys before she disappeared into her own castle with a red head.
Now it was only Stayne and Y/N who were together in the garden as the rest of the company had left after the outburst. ,,May I have this dance Lady Ähm?" came the polite request before he bowed to the girl and held out his hand to her. With a slight curtsy, she accepted his hand with a shy smile and instantly later she was pulled towards him.
He looked down at the woman in front of him and stroked a strand of her hair behind her ear, ,,Tell me, have you ever danced a waltz?" he breathed to her as he bent down to her ear and almost shyly stroked it with his fingers. ,,Yes, I took lessons at home to be able to dance it at a ball or something like that," replied the girl born with Y/Ec eyes. She was about to get into position when the knight left her and went to the table where there were some candles before he came back.
He pressed the light into the hand of the girl in front of him, while he enclosed hers and both held the solid wax. ,,It is an old tradition in Wonderland that only if the candle does not go out during the dance are the two meant for each other. So says the tradition at least whether to believe it is up to you and me". This made Y/N sit up and take notice, and she thought she saw something red on the pale skin of the Jack of Hearts in the flickering of the candle. ,,Well, let's try it and make up our own minds about the tradition," came the girl's approving reply as she and Stayne got into position.
They didn't have any music but a gentle hum that sounded something like a buzzing would be intoned by Stayne while he danced with Y/N in the rhythm back and forth over the plates. It was the most beautiful moment Y/N had ever experienced in her life everything about it was perfect. The music playing softly from Stayne mixed with the wandering lighting and the scent of roses and other plants made it even better.
After gliding across the dance floor once again, after a few more steps and one last spin, they came to the end. Y/N was pressed closer to him by Stayne and she could clearly hear his heartbeat. This time she was sure that it was not her own but that of the knight who seemed to be as excited as she was.
Both looked at the same time at the flame that danced only lightly in the air, proving the tradition that the two were meant for each other. ,,Well, Lady Ähm, as you can see, even Wonderland seems to mean well with us," came the knight's statement before he bent down again and put his lips on Y/N's again. This time he did not withdraw immediately and Y/N could recognize the taste of the wine on one of his lips which made her smile.
After the kiss was over, Y/N spoke softly to her beloved, ..Wait for me here for a moment, I want to give you something too" and with that she ran into the big garden, leaving a confused Stayne behind. Her heart was beating wildly and her hands were trembling slightly with excitement and her mind was in complete chaos. Only Stayne was what she wanted at that moment nothing else but this man. She ran to the hedges she had seen out of the window, which did not have roses on them, but carnations growing there.
This was another pastime with her mother, who herself had started early with flower growing and what they mean and her daughter had taken over the interest. Fortunately for her, not only red carnations grew here, as they stood for passionate love and in some relationships eroticism. But Y/N and Stayne were still at the beginning of their relationship if you could call it a relationship at all or whether it was not just sweet between inside.
After a short search she found pink carnations that stood perfectly for what she felt. Pink carnations stand for intimate, sincere love as she found best suited to the kind of love she felt for him and he for her as well as she could interpret it.
She picked the flowers and made a crown of them in a few simple steps, keeping one for herself to give to Stayne personally. She walked as fast as she could back to the dance floor where Stayne was waiting with a smile when he saw her. ,,Here, bend down a little, please, or I can't give it to you," came the girl's request, which was immediately carried out, the other looking at her with a puzzled look.
The girl stood on her tiptoes and placed the flower crown on his black harr, giving it a certain cuteness. ,,What are you doing?" he asked after he had straightened up again and felt around with his hands on his head. ,,Now you look like a beautiful flower fairy" the girl laughed before she grinned at him with a hearty grin and the knight joined in this time and even a small laugh could be heard from him.
This made the girl pause and she just listened to the man for whom she felt deep love and far beyond.,,Has anyone ever told you that you are beautiful when you laugh and are sweet as you are now?" this made Stayne pause and the laughter disappeared and was replaced with a kind of sad realization in his eye that seemed to be carefully watching her. ,,If someone told me, it was too long ago for me to remember. Say, do you really think I'm pretty?" the way he spoke resembled a cornered animal carefully considering its answering options so as not to probably commit the same pain and thus mistake.
The girl nodded and slowly and carefully approached him for fear of hurting him. Carefully she put one hand on his pale cheek while gently stroking the scar with the other. At first the knight backed away out of fear or shame, but then he gave in and put his face back into her cheek.,, I didn't just say that, you are pretty and good enough for everything you do. Don't let it make you insecure you are good enough and loving the way you are and that's what you are to me.
So stop feeling bad when you haven't done anything wrong." With that Y/N put her lips on his which the knight lovingly accepted and kissed her back. It seemed that the knight was about to say something when a deafening scream echoed through the castle, ,,Stayne you are no good where are you come here now or heads will roll!" It seemed as if the man was changed, the candle that was still in his hand was dropped and broke on the floor and the flame went out.
With a last look, the man walked with quick steps into the castle, ,,Lady Ähm, go back to your room, I am needed by the queen, please forgive me," he called to her before disappearing into the castle and removing his flower crown from his head, which landed in the cold grass.
Now Y/N was left alone again it hurt she could not deny but something in her told her that she was on the right path with the knight. The confidence burned again in her heart that everything will still hat between them they would just have to have patience, nothing more. But she put the flower in her hair because the dress had no pockets and she had no other place to put it. Now she had to concentrate on her purpose and the plan that had not gone according to plan as she had noticed with the queen.
She ran through the corridors and encountered too many cards for her liking, but they seemed to ignore her, which meant that her cover had not been blown. She ran as fast as she could towards the courtyard where she finally stood in front of the two huge red doors. Something inside her told her that there was something wrong here, but she wouldn't know until she opened the door. With a slight effort, she braced herself against the doors until they opened, fearing her worry.
The strange People
warning : none
next chapter , masterlist
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The carriage wobbled as the black horses pulled the wooden vehicle behind them and ran through the forest. The sun flashed sporadically through the green leaves of late summer, making the forest shine once again. The yellow and green carriage creaked and one of the two people in the carriage even thought to hear a splintering.
As the vehicle drove through the ground covered with small stones and leaves. Your mother, who was rather known for her confused idea of her prince, looked dreamily into the emptiness of the carriage. But Y/N was used to this, even if she did not know her father, she got along well with her dreamy mother. Earlier she had actually believed through the naivety of a child her father was a prince.
But when she told her school friends about it, she was only laughed at. At some point she had to realize that even her mother would not tell her, and in order not to offend her out of fear that she could not cope with the truth, she played along.
But deep in her heart she had since she was a little child who knew so little about the world the wish that her father was a prince. Now she could use the fortune of such a prince more than well. Although her aunt was the wife of Charles Kingsleigh and he was certainly not poor, her mother was like a black sheep in the family. One tolerated it until it fell to one's burden and then disposed of it perhaps best in an asylum or worse.
Although this was the worst scenario that Y/N could have imagined, this worry was always somewhere in her thoughts. She also knew that her aunt and her cousin of the same age were also having family problems at the moment and God knows where else this could have led.
With a sigh, Y/N looked out the window of the carriage, which was stained with dried dirt from the trip. A small smile stole on her lips as she saw the irony in it all. As the carriage broke apart, so did her family after the death of her uncle Charles Kingsleigh slowly and gradually. But the 20 year old should not care at this moment not after her coachman called that they had arrived.
For their so-called coachman, who was actually some man from the village they had paid because they had to steal at their estate that none of their servants of those they could still afford a carriage could drive.
After the carriage came to a halt with another creak in the courtyard of the huge estate of the Ascots. Her mother, who despite her age was still very agile, looked like an excited virgin before her wedding night.
As she literally scurried out of the carriage and made her way to the ceremony in a swinging gait. ,,Y/N darling, I am expected at the celebration by my prince. Surely you understand that I must not be late. You can surely make it to the party on your own". Before Y/N could answer her mother, she had pranced off and disappeared, which her daughter could only support with another smile. ,,Of course, mother, I'll be fine," she said to herself as she took the last step out of the carriage onto the white gravel.
The man who caught her eye sat wide-eyed in his seat and seemed as overwhelmed as she was by the estate that stretched out before them.
At first Y/N thought about asking the coachman if he would like to come along, but she left it alone as there were too many scenarios where she and her mother were labeled as crazy as they often were. ,,Would you mind waiting here until my mother and I get back?" she asked, hoping he would say yes. The simple man, who was probably a peasant, nodded before speaking in a rural accent, ,,Sure, Your Majesty, but I would like a piece of cake as a reward. I don't care when you bring it to me, but one is what I ask for". The girl was a little confused that a man who probably had a family wanted something so simple and not money, but it should be fine with her.
This only showed her that in the biggest things sometimes lay the simplest and smallest requests. She nodded to the coachman who pulled his worn black cap over his eyes and took a nap.
Y/N now made her own way to the celebration, hoping for at least one good piece of cake from the whole feast. As she carried her feet around one of the hedges the extent of the Ascots' wealth and influence and personnel stretched out before her.
This left her speechless for a moment it was sheer overwhelming especially the number of people that made her rather nervous. Again she put one foot in front of the other, saving a smile on her lips as she did not intend to talk to the people here
As she descended the stairs that led to the buffet and dance floor, as well as the maze of hedges and white roses, she was almost knocked over by the first best guests. However, it did not come to that and Y/N decided to push herself to the buffet because she noticed that her stomach was craving for cake. She tried to avoid getting crashed by the masses.
To the luck of Y/N she caught a piece of strawberry cake on which the strawberry was missing instead she took one of the red icing hearts from the cupcakes and put it on the cake. With the cake in her right hand and the silver fork in her left with a golden decoration that she assumed was real gold, she went in search of her mother.
After pushing her way through the crowd, which was almost like a dance, she found her mother sitting at a small table that seemed as remote as her mind. ,,Hello, mother, shall I bring you and your prince a piece of cake?" came the friendly question from Y/N, who hoped to help her mother
The older woman seemed to pay little attention to her because she mumbled, ,,No, dear, no, I mustn't gain weight, what if he doesn't like me?" came the worried question that seemed to frighten her.
But Y/n put her hand on the already almost trembling one of her mother and smiled lovingly at her as her mother had smiled at her when she was a child. ,,Mother believe me you are beautiful the way you are. You are exactly as you should be and if the prince doesn't see that he is not the right one. Then the right one will come, believe me".
This seemed to calm the older one down a bit and bring her back to the here and now because she gave her daughter a little kiss on the cheek. ,,Thank you my darling, I'll just wait here and you go have fun" she returned before returning to her mind and indulging in her fantasy.
So Y/N took her piece of cake that she had put on the table and went on the next search that had the goal of finding her cousin Alice. As she walked, she popped the first piece into her mouth and a sigh of relief escaped her mouth as she ate the best piece of cake of her life.
But when she heard a throat clearing behind her, Y/N winced and quickly turned around. To her dismay, Lady Ascot, mistress of the house, was standing in front of her, looking at her with an indignant and ashamed look. ,,Young lady, I ask you not to make such inappropriate sounds in public, it is more than shameful. Not only for you but also for your family which would be which?" asked the woman who didn't seem to know Y/N.
The girl swallowed the piece of cake still in her mouth before answering, ,,Pleased to make your acquaintance Lady Ascot, I am Y/N Kingsleigh the daughter of Imogene Kingsleigh. I beg your pardon but the cake was just too good for me to remain silent. You should try some of the cake" came the answer from Y/N pointing to the buffet. The lady didn't seem to be taken with her and gave the girl another look before she went her own way.
Y/N found the conversation a bit unpleasant but it could have been worse so she continued her search with the cake and decided to go through the garden. In the huge garden, which was also a maze, she found hundreds of white roses growing along the bushes, which she thought formed the heart of the garden.
Strolling through the rose kingdom, she finally found her cousin who seemed to be watching someone, but Y/N couldn't tell if she was. She waited by one of the bushes until Alice herself stirred and was about to return to the party. ,,Hello Alice, how are you? We haven't seen you since last Christmas, you're as pale as ever". Came the talk of Y/N who then shoved another piece into her mouth.
The pale girl with the long blond hair and the rings under her eyes that made her look sad turned to her relative and smiled weakly. ,,Hello Y/N, I didn't know you were invited here. I'm fine, just a little confused, I'm afraid it's the strange behavior of some people who speak to me of this confusion. Well and pale we are not all in this time. But tell me how does the cake taste I just wanted to get it when I know it tastes good because what's the point of having a slice if you don't want it?" The other girl with the Y/Hc hair smiled at the enigmatic words of her cousin, who was like a sister to her.
But Alice Kingsleigh was like that since she could speak only enigmatic words and reveries came out. These, however, had always fascinated Y/N and when her cousin told her about fabulous places and worlds she had visited were like pure miracles in Y/N's ears. ,,The cake, my dear Alice, is the best I have had in my life and this heart is especially sweet. ,,Here eat the cake quietly I'll keep the heart."
So Y/N handed the cake to her cousin while she took the heart and put it in the little bag that was worked into the folds of her dress. Looking at her cousin, she saw the enchanted expression in her brown eyes that took in the pleasure of the cake. ,,This is really a wonderful cake, your taste is as wonderful as ever my dear Y/N." Alice took another piece until Lady and Lord Ascot approached the two and pulled the blonde girl slightly away from Y/N.
The girl with the Y/Ec eyes just looked behind and waited until she saw Alice looking nervously towards the crowd where apparently a meeting was taking place.
As far as Y/N could tell, her cousin had no idea what the meeting was about, but she followed her cousin and caught up with her cousin in a short sprint. ,,What's wrong that you are paler than normal? " Y/N asked, looking at Alice questioningly. The other girl just shook her head and put her plate on one of the tables they passed.
The two girls were about to steal away to their mothers when the blonde girl was taken by the hand of Hamish Ascot, not very gently forY/N's taste. He pulled her under the pavilion and to the surprise of Alice and Y/N the heir to the Ascot empire knelt down in front of her and said, ,,Alice Kingsleigh will you be my wife?" Y/N had only one thought, how would it end?

The Hope
warning : emotional, hurt/comfort, fluff, kiss, angst
next chapter, masterlist
----------------------------
The queen's castle was left behind them long ago. Fortunately for the fugitives, the queen did not send any cards after them. Above all, this was reassuring for Y/N since Stayne had received the arrow, he was visibly worse. Although he did not fall out of the saddle, he looked paler than normal and seemed to have to try harder to control the horse.
From time to time a few sounds of pain reached her ear, but she only got a reassuring smile. She would have believed him, but she saw the pain in his eye like an open book. ,,Tarrant, how far is it to the White Queen's castle?" the girl asked.
The hatter had the horse well under control by now, but they kept galloping so as not to lose speed. ,,Not far, just at the junction on the left and then a little further. When you see a green-pink forest we are there." The other fugitives near Tarrant had also become accustomed to the rocking and the rabbit even seemed to be asleep, albeit with a twitch.
The rabbit kept looking anxiously at the clock and muttering something to himself. Only the mouse was asleep, it had been under the hat in the hatter's red hair for some time and had been sleeping ever since. The Hatter was right after they rode through the wasteland again, it became more of a path that brought them back to a fork.
This time Tarrant rode ahead and the couple followed since Y/N didn't know the queen's realm and Stayne didn't know everything either. He also seemed to have a hard time staying awake and concentrating on his surroundings.
The girl felt him pressing too tightly against her a couple of times, which was more like a small faint than a mistake. The knight's hands were barely holding the red reins and they could have easily been snatched out of his hand.
So Y/N decided to put her hands over Stayne's as he had done with her and take the lead. ,,Stay awake Stayne, it's not far now, hang in there" she told the boy of her heart, who again smiled weakly at her. He seemed to be saying something, but closed his mouth again and leaned against her, but not too hard to put too much strain on the girl. ,,Tarrant, how much further do we have to take him to a doctor or something?" she shouted to the hatter in front of her.
The hatter turned around to her and the knight with an actually worried look. ,,Don't worry, we'll be right there in the castle, there are plenty of healers, he'll be fine!" he yelled back before kicking the animal in the side again to make it run a little faster.
The girl followed his example and was about to do the same when the horse began to speak. ,,I will take over, you will not let my owner and friend die, understand?" with a puzzled look she looked at the horse under her but nodded before letting go of the reins so that it would not be hindered. In fact, the animal was catching up with the other horse and they were riding almost too fast for her liking.
However, in view of Stayne's condition, this was bitterly necessary. The knight seemed to be half asleep, half conscious, and startled out of either of them every time she called his name.
The road until they finally arrived in the pretty forest seemed endless and with each passing pang of the knight's voice her heart contracted with sadness and helplessness.
However, whenever she asked him if she could do something for him or something to help him, he took her hand in his. Despite the black gloves, she noticed the trembling of the fingers underneath.
So she couldn't do anything but squeeze his hand back and say soothing words that hopefully had an effect. ,,It's going to be okay, please believe me Stayne, it's going to be okay, you'll see" she could hardly hear herself and the sobs she gave off came out only as a pitiful whimper.,, I have always believed you Y/N since I saw you my heart and my whole self has belonged only to you. Please don't cry, I'll make it," came powerlessly and strained from the knight. In fact, she had not noticed that she had lost a tear and quickly wiped it away to avoid being an obstacle in her grief.
She knew that he trusted her more than himself, something she appreciated immensely, but also knew that she had to be careful with him.
The years of the queen had left clear marks both physically and psychologically, which she had seen. Still, she had patience with him, something she believed he valued in her, while she appreciated that he tried to change for her.
But she also knew that their relationship was not easy, there would be times when it would look worse than now, even if she could hardly imagine it. To her luck she finally saw the white castle through the forest and again both horses had become a little faster.
Now time seemed to dwindle with every second she felt her tension double and her heart beat faster. When they reached the queen's white bridge, the horses slowed down until they came to a stop in the courtyard. Tarrant and the animals jumped off their exhausted horse and immediately ran into the palace to look for the queen and for help.
In the meantime, Y/N also got up from the horse and helped Stayne down, who was about to fall over at any moment. ,,It's alright, I've got you, come here" she told him as he tried to walk alone but was about to fall.
Although she was smaller, the knight did not seem to lean on her too much now, so as not to weigh her down too much. ,,Don't worry, my heart, I can do it," but it didn't come across as reassuring as it should have. Instead, it hurt her even more inside and touched her deeply at the same time.
The knight and the guard dragged themselves up the first few steps before she saw it. From his left arm the red blood ran down in a small trickle and dripped like tears on the white steps. The arrow must have been deeper than she thought, which made her curse. ,,Since when do you curse Lady Y/N?" she knew it was meant sarcastically, but at that moment she found it anything but funny.
Before they reached the huge white door, it was pushed open by some of the guards and a small troop of them came out. To their disbelief, the knight tried to push himself away from her and draw his sword, but this resulted in the first loud cry of pain. ,,Stay calm Stayne, they are not here to kill you. Everything is fine" immediately came the soothing words that actually restrained him.
But barely a few seconds later the knight toppled forward and was stopped by Y/N with a renewed effort. She first feared the worst, but when she reached for his neck she felt the pulse of his heart. ,,Help me, he won't hurt you, he's injured, please help us!" she begged the white soldiers who looked at her through their visors and stopped.
She was about to try to support the knight again when she heard footsteps coming from the castle. ,,Oh Y/N dear you are finally here. Don't worry Alice told me about you and your beloved, we will help him. Guards, take him to the hospital wing," came the soft voice of Mirana. The soldiers started to move and carried the knight as gently as they could into the castle to the healers.
Y/N wanted to run after the soldiers, but the queen grabbed her by the wrist and stopped her. ,,It will be all right, believe me, he will make it. Come in and have some tea with me and Alice, how does that sound?" came the queen's soft talk to her.
To her amazement, Mirana had something about her that made her seem like a caring mother and she had a calming aura. So she went with the group back into the white castle which radiated just as much security as its builder. She was led through many white corridors with silver decorations.
Despite the fact that it reminded her a bit of a sterile hospital, she did not feel uncomfortable. The two women walked around another white corner before arriving in a conference room. In the center of the room was a silver table with a map of Wonderland on it and around it were a few white chairs.
On one of these seats sat Alice with her head above the map, lost in thought.,, Alice, you made it, I'm so glad!" came the joyful remark from Y/N to her cousin. She looked up from the cards and got a big smile. Oh, Y/N, I was so worried, I'm so happy you made it. Tell me, is everyone alright? Did something happen?". It was almost ironic how quickly her cousin could sometimes read people, even though in some cases she didn't care in the least what others thought of her.
It was as if someone had flipped a switch in her feelings that she was suppressing that it wasn't the right time. The first tears rolled down her cheeks and burst like Stayne's on the floor.
Without wanting to, she clawed her way into Alice's embrace and sobbed miserably as the events of the past days, hours and minutes caught up with her. ,,It should have been me, not him, if only I hadn't been so careless. Besides, if it hadn't been for Stayne, the executioner would have had me. If only I had been stronger".
The words were her thoughts that weighed her down and tormented her at night. Alice stroked her back soothingly before Mirana came back into the room with three cups of tea. ,,Oh dear don't cry you were so brave and courageous we are so proud of you. It's okay to express your feelings freely, that's what makes you a human being, my dear child," the queen's tender words rang out.
The tea floating in three cups smelled sweetly of strawberries and roses which reminded her of the night with Stayne and her dance of eternal love. This made her smile and she felt the happy warmth coming back in her heart.
The tea itself tasted like Stayne and everything she loved about him especially his kiss which was so gentle and so full of fear of being instructed back. This was something that saddened her, both she and the knight had never experienced the love of a partner and yet it seemed as if they were made for each other since their first meeting.
After the three women finished their tea, they talked about their time in Wonderland and how it came to be with Stayne as well as Tarrant and Alice.
The younger two blushed a little, but the queen assured them of her congratulations. When the queen was about to start again, she was interrupted by a knock on the door. ,,May you come in" came the instruction from Mirana.
Tarrant stepped through the door with a joyful grin on his face. ,,I bring glad tidings that the healers have restored your boy to health and he is now asleep in one of the guest rooms". The girl jumped up with joy and ran past the hatter to the corridor that took her to the rooms.
She ran into some guards who showed her the way to the rooms and she quickly thanked them. When she arrived in front of the white door with a heart as decoration, she knocked lightly so as not to frighten the knight or enter inconveniently. After knocking again and receiving no answer, she carefully opened the door and entered the room. It was kept in a plain white but this time with some silver furniture as well as ornaments.
Her eyes fell on the large double bed with white rams at the end of the room where she saw her knight. With quiet steps she approached the bed and took a chair before placing it at his head and taking a seat. The knight of hearts slept, his chest rising and falling slightly, which meant a peaceful sleep.
For the first time he looked completely peaceful and relaxed as if he had not been mistreated by the queen for years. She brushed a strand of black hair from his face and put it behind his ear. It seemed as if for a little moment everything was fine and no problems were plaguing her and her knight.
However, she didn't want to wake him up as he needed his rest the next few days would be exhausting without fail. Just as she was about to get up from her chair, she decided to leave him something for good luck.
She went into the pocket of her undergarment, which she still had on from the dance, and took out the red heart. She put it on his chest and finally got up from the chair. However, she felt a hand on hers that held her lightly. ,,Are you not going to give me a farewell kiss?" a weak voice sounded that belonged to the knight. Y/N turned around and carefully hugged the knight's neck. ,,I was so worried about you.
Please don't do that again, I thought I was going to lose you," the guard announced. Stayne smiled and a laugh was heard from him. This silenced Y/N again as in the garden and she just listened to him being happy. ,,You give me your heart, but I already have one, and mine belongs to you". This made her cheeks blush.
The knight knew exactly what to say to touch her heart, which he had never failed to do. ,,Bend over and close your eyes, I want to give you something too". The girl did as she was ordered. At first she seemed to want to retreat, but when she felt the knight's gentle fingers, she stayed.
Only when she felt the other's lips on hers did she open her eyes and look into Stayne's relaxed face. ,,I give you this flower. You lost it when you tried to escape, I picked it up like you did the heart. It is a gift to me for you." Only now she felt the flower on her ear, which was the pink flower she had actually lost.
Happy about his gift which expressed so much more about his thoughts and feelings for her, she kissed him again. ,,It's just as perfect as my Stayne, I couldn't be happier, I love you". The words that seemed to be unspoken were said and the knight again seemed to be touched and confused about her feelings for him.
But the moment became even more beautiful when he pulled her to him and she lay in his arms under the white blanket. ,,Please stay with me tonight. It would make me very happy" he whispered to her. Whereupon she nodded and snuggled even closer to him.
The first rain began to fall on the windows of the room and it ended in a gentle shower of joy as if the wonderland was shedding tears of joy for their wonderful love.
As the rain came, the tiredness came over the two of them. Before they both fell asleep, she saw Stayne put the heart and the flower on the small nightstand next to the bed before he put his arm around Y/N. They both fell asleep peacefully.

The beginning
warning : angst , comfort , little fluff

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
The weather was still sunny but a small breeze seemed to pull through the wonderland. This brought not only the flowers and mushrooms to dance and turn but also the dandelion to which Y/N held on. But this did not disturb the girl particularly what made her only worry was highest that the white poles on the plant could decrease and it much.
However, fortunately for her, the breeze was not strong enough and the girl continued to swing gently through the air. On the horizon, or at least in the far distance, she could see two castles, one shining in a brilliant white and almost divine, as peacefuangstl as it was surrounded by the pink trees.
The other, however, had something mysterious and at the same time uneasy about it, standing surrounded by wasteland and withered giant thorns. But something about the second castle made her pause, as if it were familiar, but she didn't know where it came from or had seen it before.
She didn't know the inhabitants of Wonderland, but she was sure that the people who attacked Alice and her group definitely belonged to the second castle. At least she hoped so, and that she would not be led even further astray and lose her head.
As another gust of wind came up, Y/N clung more tightly to the green stem of the flower and hoped that the wind would end soon. But unfortunately she had to realize that the flower was not so stable and it slowly sank to the ground along the other dandelions.
The girl was back in the now much darker forest and cursed because she now had a new goal which kept her from her actual. Slowly she dove under the dried but colorful leaves and came to a stop on a light trample in the forest.
The blossom came in a slight distance in front of her to the hunt and remained there, it would no longer fly so much was clear.
So again she had no choice but to walk forward and hope not to get lost or end up at the wrong castle. The forest also seemed to be watching her and she thought she heard bright happy singing, but she could have imagined it. Nevertheless, she heard it again and it seemed far away but it was there.
With new courage she ran after the sound as fast as her little bees could carry her. The further she ran the darker and crazier the forest seemed to become everywhere she seemed to be watched and this made her a little paranoid.
Although she was used to her mother talking to the nothing in front of her or dancing a waltz alone through the garden, the forest was something completely different. It seemed as if even the nothing had eyes and would only wait for the right moment to snatch her.
With every crack in the undergrowth and every squawk from the birds of Wonderland, Y/N flinched and looked around slightly afraid. Although it seemed ridiculous to her, the fear in her inner self could not keep her from being afraid.
After she had continued to run and still fell back into a normal gait due to lack of stamina, the ground suddenly began to vibrate and small stones rose from the earth. Something or someone was coming towards her and it did so quickly. The guard hid on the side of the path under a red mushroom that was just big enough for her to stand under and not be seen from above.
From her hiding place she first saw a dog that could just as well have come from her estate, but it was accompanied by what looked like metal playing cards with locks running behind it.
At the sight of the likely fighters she had seen the prints of, she pressed closer to the mushroom and held her breath until the group had passed. Fortunately for her, the dog didn't seem to have smelled her or didn't know her scent, whatever it was she was glad she wasn't detected.
She stayed under the mushroom for a few minutes worrying that they would come back or someone else would come. Just as she was about to leave her shelter, the earth vibrated again, but this time it seemed much stronger than before.
Cautiously the girl peeked out from under the mushroom onto the path and she saw a black horse wearing red armor and it seemed huge. However, what made her pause was the man on the horse, although she could not see his face because it was covered by his black hair during the ride.
But something about him made her not look away until the unknown man with his long cape disappeared from her field of vision on the horizon. She hadn't noticed how her breath had quickened and she had now strolled along the path, completely confused and dissolved about what had just happened.
However, this time she did not pay attention to the forest or the eyes that seemed to pierce her. Before her eyes was the man who rode past her over and over again and had something about him that she could not interpret.
However, she knew whatever it was it did not let her go and would certainly still haunt her whether now in the good or in the bad sense Y/N could only not yet know. After she continued her way, lost in thought, she noticed when she finally looked up.
Not far from her an old rotten windmill that seemed to be waiting for her. The thoughts of the man flashed once again in her mind's eye before she tried to keep them safe in her head until she found someone she could ask about them without attracting attention.
After running as fast as she could for a while, she arrived at a large clearing in the middle of the forest and found the old windmill. However, as her gaze glided over the piece of land she found a tea party that was strangely small. As she approached the three tables as far as she could see at her height, she recognized the sound of singing.
However, the people did not seem to have spotted her, so Y/N decided to move to one of the chairs to make contact. This was a difficult task in itself so much she could say first she had to climb the two meter chair and not fall down and break her neck.
So the first thing she did was pull herself up on a faded white serving tray that lay above one of the books and was held there by several pieces of sugar. Then she climbed up the sugar mountain and jumped with difficulty onto the books, rowing with her arms to avoid falling.
Finally she jumped from the books onto the completely chaotic table and caught sight of the people who had been singing. Gradually she got used to the craziness of Wonderland, but when she saw a talking mouse with a needle as a sword and an eye on its belt, it surpassed everything again.
To her left was the other person, a twitching and jittery rabbit who looked like he was going to die of a sugar shock at any moment and was strangely confused as well. ,,Well, look at that, another false prophecy, we didn't have enough with Alice, now we have a false guardian, how great!" came the snippy and sarcastic white mouse who rolled her little eyes and spat the tea next to her on the floor.
Y/N, however, looked at her incredulously before she dodged a piece of sugar cube that the twitching rabbit threw at her. ,,Have, at least stay for tea until the Hatter is back, you little thing. Then we can all make fun of your naivety," the rabbit chuckled before he treated himself again to tea with too much sugar and cackled with laughter.
The girl, however, didn't find this funny at all, no matter if she was thrown at or accused of something, she just wanted answers. ,,Excuse me, but I'm not who you think I am, I'm who you're looking for, I'm Y/N the guardian of Alice". This silenced the animals and the Y/Hc-haired girl thought she would now be taken seriously, but they both fell into a bigger laugh which did not sound of joy. ,,She is really good, you should become a jester. You the guard, then I'm really three meters tall," laughed the little mouse from the bottom of her heart before she held her belly.
Also the rabbit fell in but he had to stop because of a twitching fit and held on to his ears. This found Y/N now not really funny why she went to the rabbit and pulled down this at the ear to himself. ,,Now listen, you lunatic, I may not know who you are, but I know who I am and when I tell you that I am the guardian of Alice, that is true. Besides, the caterpillar Absolem sent me to the white queen, but I landed here because of the wind, so please help me instead of making fun of me!".
After she had lectured the two animals, they were quiet and the laughter died out, instead it became almost unpleasantly quiet. The two mentally unstable animals kept looking at each other uncertainly as if they had to decide telepathically what to do next. ,,If it is really you, tell us why Alice is chosen and how should we believe her. Unless you're an impostor, then I'll have to slice you up here with me."
Came an abnormally cool and cautious voice from the mouse that had pulled out its needle and was pointing it at Y/N. The rabbit also grabbed a broken teacup from which red tea dripped down and looked like blood.
To avoid her death, she hastily pulled out of her pocket the pictures torn from the scroll and placed them on the table for the animals to see. ,,Here you see the sign that is always near Alice is me, I am supposed to protect her. Also, Alice is chosen to kill the Jabberwocky on Flower Day and save Wonderland". Came from the girl in the hope of clarifying the matter quickly and not having to face death again.
Again it remained silent until the rabbit threw the cup away and broke it somewhere in the grass and then clapped his hands happily. With the mouse it remained a little longer quietly however it put back its pin and smiled at Y/N happily. ,,It's about time you showed up before Alice, but the rabbit isn't the most punctual either. But why by the good white queen are you here with us and not with the white queen or with Alice?" came the indignant mouse, staring at her and waiting for an answer, while the rabbit twitched again.
,,Well, as I told you, I was on my way to the White Queen. But Wonderland and the wind had other plans and now I've landed here with your company. By the way, who were the cards with the dog and the tall black-haired man on the horse, they are not by chance your friends?".
There was an oppressive silence between the three before the hare calmed down from his trembling and twitching.
,,The dog is a captured ally of ours and the cards are the soldiers of the red heartless queen. The big man as you called him is the Jack of Hearts or Ilosovic Stayne, the queen's favorite and commander of the troops. You should be especially careful of him he is heartless and loyal to the queen a truly despicable man".
As soon as he finished the sentence, he returned to his state and the mouse rolled its eyes. ,,Well then, it has come to this. So your job is to protect Alice, then tell me how you're going to do that with your big one. I don't want to say that being small is bad as you see it with me. But if you have to protect her from the cards or even Stayne herself, it would be better if you were taller."
The girl also agreed with this fact, but she had no idea how to become taller. ,,I agree with you, Mouse, but how can I get taller unless you know how to return me to my normal size in no time?".
Again the mouse thought before it went over the tables and dived into a bowl of cake. The rabbit seemed to be in his own world again and was already sipping the next cup of tea. ,,Here, you have to eat this, but not too much or you'll grow too big.
Actually it was for Alice, but she is with the hatter, so she didn't need it. Came from the mouse who was a bit hard to understand until she returned to her and the rabbit with a small cake with Eat me written on it.
With a little effort, she pushed the cake in front of Y/N's feet and looked at her with encouragement. Although she recognized the principle of the bottle, it could not taste worse than that. As the mouse had said, she took a bite of the cake and as expected, it didn't taste very good. It reminded her of the first cake she made her mother for her birthday. Although her mother and the staff acted as if the cake tasted good, when she tried it herself she spat it out immediately.
However, she didn't this time and swallowed the disgusting cake. As with the bottle, she felt dizzy and then sick before looking down at herself and standing in the middle of the table, back to her normal size.
This also applied to her undergarment which clung to her skin again and she was glad to have kept it. ,,You don't happen to have a dress lying around here. It certainly wouldn't be wise to walk around in just that garment".
The mouse and the rabbit looked at each other again before running to the third table and pulling out a blue dress from a teapot. ,,Here it is, it belonged to Alice before she left with the Hatter. It should fit you, maybe a little tight because of the potion, but it should be fine".
The girl recognized her cousin's blue dress and put it on after stepping down from the table. In fact, it was a bit tight which suggests that she must actually be a bit taller than normal, but it didn't bother her too much. ,,Well now that I have something on what now?" asked Y/N looking at the smaller of the two animals. ,,Now we'll take you to the White Queen, where Alice should already be with the Hatter".
Before the mouse could jump off the table, theY/Ec-eyed girl had held out her hand to signal her to climb up. The mouse seemed happy not to have to run and made itself comfortable on the girl's shoulder, holding on to her hair as much as her size would allow.
The rabbit also got down from the chair and hopped in front of the girl with the mouse to show her the way they had to go. So the small group of a twitching rabbit sat down with a mouse that was arrogant for her size and the guard who had no idea what was to come.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
It seemed after Hamish had spoken these words that even the air around them would stand still and everything was waiting for a discharge. Y/N also felt herself holding her breath in disbelief as she realized what was happening before her eyes.
Her cousin, who looked as if she would like to run away from it all, looked nervously back and forth between the man she definitely did not want and all the guests. Sometimes a few stammered words came out of her mouth, but they were incomprehensible to Y/N and the guests.
The Y/Hc-haired girl saw the rising nervousness in her cousin's brown eyes and was about to run to her to get her away when she felt the hand of her aunt Helen Kingsleigh on her wrist.
A glance at her aunt made it clear to Y/N that she herself was struggling for her sanity not to take her daughter away from the visibly unpleasant and almost sad moment. ,,If you go there now and take her away from saving our entire family, it will be worse for you and your aunt. It will be worse for you and your mother than ever before," came the whisper of her aunt, who leaned down slightly to whisper in her niece's ear.
Y/N stayed in place as quietly as she could at her aunt's behest and for her mother's life, but it also made her nervous to know how bad things could get. After what seemed like an eternity, something happened in front of the crowd Alice spoke something to Hamish before she broke free of his grip and fled into the maze of white roses.
Some indignant remarks and even curses were heard from the crowd behind Y/N and her mother and aunt. A glance at her second cousin Margaret revealed that she was disappointed but not surprised at her sister's behavior and instead went back to looking for her husband.
Her mother was also in her own world again and had already gone back to her place to wait for her prince. But Y/N herself was now standing in a crowd that was wildly discussing and didn't know what to do now.
She saw her aunt who was already being harassed by Lord and Lady Ascot but decided not to intervene because she didn't want to cause any more trouble. So the 20 year old decided that she could bring the coachman a piece of cake to give Alice time for herself and not to press her.
Arriving at the buffet, she was taken aback to find that a new strawberry cake had been served, but any cupcakes with red hearts were missing, which saddened her. A quick embrace of the heart still resting in the pocket of her dress made this go away as she had her personal one.
So she again slid a piece of cake onto the white porcelain plate and again took a silver fork that was decorated with gold like any other. Again armed with cake she started her little journey to the courtyard where the other carriages were standing and either the coachmen were asleep or passing the time by talking to each other.
However, it could be said that her carriage already stood out among the new and shiny ones because of its wear and tear.
Her coachman was still in the same position as she had left him, sleeping peacefully on the seat. She was about to say something when she heard a particularly loud snore from the coachman and decided to put the cake next to the man so that he could help himself when he woke up.
As she started to walk back, she saw Hamish walking past her with his head red, not even noticing her and probably going to his beloved mansion to sulk. With a shake of her head she started her own way but was stopped by her older cousin, ,,How are you Y/N? We haven't seen each other in a long time, you look good, how is Aunt Imogene?" she showered the younger girl with questions. The Y/Ec-eyed girl knew that her cousin wasn't really interested and was only doing it because she was worried about her mother.
Not forgetting what would happen next and what consequences it would bring, Y/N played along. ,,Me and mother are doing very well, thank you for asking. You look as beautiful as ever yourself but tell me, did you see Alice coming out of the garden or is she still there?".
The girl smiled briefly flattered by the forced compliment before shaking her head and speaking in a regretful tone, ,,Unfortunately no my sister is probably still sulking and has succumbed to her musings." The other girl nodded her thanks to Margaret and went into the garden herself, which was her real destination.
As soon as she disappeared behind one of the rose hedges, she started sprinting as far as her dress would allow to lead her to Alice. She had seen her cousin run in here, but she didn't know where she was going in this maze, which made it difficult for her not to get lost herself.
So she turned the next best corner and circled hundreds of white roses until she came to a stop, panting. Just as she was about to lean against one of the tall green hedges and close her eyes, she saw her cousin's light blue dress waft around one of the hedges and disappear.
Immediately she was on her feet again and ran after the track she had seen. However, as she turned the corner she saw Alice running straight towards the adjacent forest which did not give her a good feeling. However, she didn't want to be among the boring people and her mother had the prince so she wouldn't be missed much.
So she decided to run after her Alice to calm her down and maybe do something together if she felt like it. No sooner said than done she left the estate behind her and also her family who concentrated only on the money and the existence. It took her a while to figure out where to step on the forest floor without falling, but she made it without fail and saw the blue dress again. Alice ran deeper into the forest and already seemed to disappear behind the big almost black looking trees.
So Y/N followed her as fast as she could, trying desperately not to lose sight of the blue fabric through all the undergrowth. So she took a last look at the blue dress before it disappeared in a big hole in an old big tree and left the silent forest behind. Only now Y/N actually noticed how silent and almost eerie the huge dark forest was and almost gave her goose bumps.
When she heard a crackling in the undergrowth behind her she jumped around but saw only a white rabbit. However, when she looked closer she saw a pocket watch in its paw and it was wearing a vest, it seemed surreal as if she had fallen down and was now dreaming or hallucinating.
Both Y/N and the rabbit looked at each other in confusion and uncertainty as if they were both checking to see if what they were experiencing was real. However, Y/N only became more confused when the rabbit began to speak, ,,Oh my goodness, it's way too late, I have to hurry. What if no one is waiting for her downstairs? I have to go," it spoke hastily before it hopped past Y/N and disappeared into the hole.
Now she was alone again, but her ignorance about what had just happened here did not diminish and it was almost like the many leaves that lay scattered and disordered around her. Slowly she approached the hole before she knelt down and looked down.
However, she encountered nothing but blackness and space. To make sure she was looking correctly, she blinked a few times before looking down again, and sure enough, she saw a room at the bottom of the hole.
She bent a little further forward but when she felt the first lumps of earth and stones under her gave way and before she could rule she fell down the hole. However, to her renewed surprise, it was not dark in the hole, it was already almost cozy around her flew books, pocket watches and even the one or the other piano which made tinkling noises.
Although she heard only at the beginning of her scream which came quite automatically from her but close to her already a few minutes much and she had calmed down as far as it went she heard the ticking of clocks. She thought even in the distance of the entire room through which she heard a lot of trumpets and chatter.
But what worried her was that the lower room was getting closer and closer and she had nothing to break the fall. But before she feared to end up as a lump of mud downstairs, she felt herself stopping ungently on a bed before falling further.
The girl pulled her arms protectively in front of her face as the floor approached and feared that these were the last moments of her life. But when the floor broke open underneath her, she fell another few meters before landing with a thud on the floor of another room.
With a painful moan and groan, Y/N straightened up and knocked the dirt from her dress, which had been damaged here and there, when she broke through the ceiling. Y/N looked around the black and white tiled room and realized that she had no idea where she was.
Once she was aware of this, she set about examining the individual doors, which couldn't be more different. Some were huge while others were so small that even her hand wouldn't fit through them, but they were all made of solid wood that she couldn't break through.
Even jiggling the door handles did not bring anything except creaking and unnecessary waste of time. Although Y/N thought about trying to run into one of the doors to get it open, she didn't because she didn't want to hurt herself even more. Then paused for a moment, remembering the rabbit's words that someone was waiting for her. She doubted it was her, but apparently Alice had landed down here before her and made it out.
Suddenly the scales fell from her eyes and she saw a glass-bottomed table with a key on it that was no bigger than her finger and seemed almost too small. She now had a key but no suitable lock that would accept it. So she walked again around the round room and noticed a lightly curved cloth which, when she pushed it aside, revealed a small door.
She knelt down and inserted the small key into the lock turned it around and sure enough, to her relief, it opened. Y/N squinted her eyes as the bright light hit her from the other side and it was almost painfully bright.
Her head fit through, but the rest of her body was too big to have a chance to get through. So she crawled backwards into the room and straightened up before putting the key into the other pocket of her dress to avoid damaging the heart.
So now she was faced with a new task: to get through the small door without breaking any bones. Her gaze fell again on the table on which was a vial that had appeared out of nowhere.
With a raised eyebrow, she approached the table with a skeptical feeling before taking the bottle in her hand and reading the note. There was written Drink me on it, which did not surprise her less, since she had no idea if it was not poisonous.
However, after a short consideration, she decided to do it anyway, because what choice did she have. After Y/N had drunk the first sip, she took another before dropping the bottle and breaking it with a clang. Y/N felt first dizzy and then sick and finally she felt small.
When she looked down at her, all air escaped from her lungs and she shrank, and not metaphorically. The dress which had nestled on her shoulder and had also seen better days fell down on her and let her sink into a sea of fabric.
At first she thought that she would be naked under her dress, but with a joyful realization she noticed that her undergarment was a bit loose on her body, but it had stayed with her.
The girl pulled on one or the other ribbon that was attached to the garment and pulled it tighter to her body so that it would not slip. When the girl realized that she was now small enough she marched towards the small door but stopped halfway when she realized that the key was still in the dress sea.
So she dived through the fabric before she discovered the now normal sized key in her hand and continued to search for the heart. She did not know why this was so important to her but the sweet heart had something about it that she liked as if it meant something to her deep in her heart.
Both the heart and the key disappeared into the pockets of the garment which, fortunately for her, had them. The way from her former dress to the small door seemed to take forever with her size. Nevertheless, she remained strong and continued on her way until she finally arrived at the now normal looking door.
The girl took out the key from her pocket, turned it in the lock and opened the door which again threw light on her. This time she was able to put her hand protectively in front of her face to avoid being blinded too much. When she took it down and the light had settled, she stopped in amazement.
Before her stretched a completely new and so crazy world as she had never seen it at most only in her dreams. It was absolutely magical, the flora and fauna looked completely different from England and the whole atmosphere was indescribable.
So the Y/Ec eyed girl started moving again and made the first steps into the unknown world which she decided to call Wonderland.
