I'm realizing only now I never finished watching S6 of Downton Abbey 😱

A few notes/questions:

-When Tom came back from America to be the agent again, did he realize he was going to have to manage Mary / hold the family together?

-The car crash with everyone running to help. I was IMPRESSED at Cora's grip on Robert 😂 "You're not going anywhere". I don't know if it was said grip, or the clenched teeth but I could hear the "Yes dear" in his gaze 😂😂

-Never thought I'd actually end up liking Thomas Barrow but here we are

-Cora's so upset at Violet's cold shoulder. Our girl has worked for something like 30 years at this relationship, and here we are, poor thing.

-I want to be mad at Violet but *sobs* 😭 and also who can stay mad at a character that delivers line like "Your feelings do you credit my dear but you must never let tenderness be a barrier to a bit of snooping". And "Don't be mysterious, it's the last resort of people with no secrets" 😂😂😂😂

-okayyyyy I've excused Mary Crawley's behaviour in the past because her eyerolls are brilliant honestly. But Edith and Tom have a point. It's not cute anymore, hasn't been for a long time. Lucky she took great care of Anna. (And thankfully the Bateses are okay dear lord).

-The family going to Mrs Patmore's 'place of illrepute' 😂😂 they laugh but they support her ❤️ (for all the times Mrs Hughes or Daisy comment on how the downstairs people live through the family, the family gets so heavily involved with downstairs just as much 😂

Gérard de Nerval, a.k.a. Gerard Labrunie, was born in Paris in 1808. The son of a military doctor in Napoleon's Grande Armée, de Nerval's mother died shortly after his birth.

Though de Nerval would produce his own creative works, he first made his mark at the age of 20 with a heralded translation of Goethe's epic Faust. The young man would undertake other translations, and he has been credited with introducing the poems of Heinrich Heine to French readers.

Concurrent with those endeavours, de Nerval joined a very bohemian peer group consisting of brilliant misfits who together pursued the artificial paradise of hashish.

Though one must be wary of attributing artistic composition to hashish, de Nerval clearly did manifest a strong drive for altered states of consciousness. He kept pursuing an exalted ‘spirit world’ as opposed to the material world he dismissed as a ‘hovel and place of illrepute’ before proclaiming: ‘I am ashamed that God should see me here’.

As part of his preferred ‘spirit world’, de Nerval placed much significance on dreams, a priority which would later find emphasis in the Surrealist movement. Fellow Frenchmen, such as Marcel Proust, have felt his dreamy influence, and T. S. Eliot's groundbreaking Wasteland epic would include the second line of de Nerval's sonnet El Desdichado.

In 1841, de Nerval's world of spirits plunged into disarray when he suffered his first nervous breakdown. He embarked on Les Illuminés, a series of short novels on the theme of mental instability.

Around this time, de Nerval began to acquire quite a reputation for walking a pet lobster on a leash through the Palais Royal Gardens in Paris. ‘I have a liking for lobsters’, he declared. ‘They are peaceful, serious creatures who know the secrets of the sea and don't bark’.

––– The moment he hears the ding of the seatbelt sign being turned off, Joe finds his entire body relaxing while he stands up from the small ass seat he’s been stuck in for hours. He finds himself thrilled to be able to move forward, get out of the confines of an airplane where he’s known to a lot and knows next to no one, his hand turning up the music he had turned down earlier. He doesn’t mind though, the peace and quiet of not having his coworkers with him a nice break from the loudness they provide without realizing. Walking off the plane is slow, but the moment he feels air blasting him from the doors, he finds himself relaxing even further, adjusting his pack on his back, speeding up his pace so he can get himself to the baggage claim and then out of here as soon as possible. 

––– Walking through, Joe reaches into the pocket of his jacket, his phone into his hands as he turns off airplane mode, snorting softly when all he hears for the next moment, instead of the music playing, is a steady stream of pings, notifying him of texts, tweets and god knows what else. He’s thinking about skipping baggage claim altogether, though he knows he shouldn’t, when his phone goes off once more, indicating a new series of texts, causing a small sigh of frustration to escape from him as he enters the crowded area to claim his bags. He has no idea how much time passes before his bags are found and he’s hauling ass, moving as fast as he can to get the hell out, his phone going off once more. 

––– Clearly, he thinks, a snort escaping him, someone really wants to talk to me. Shaking his head, Joe slows his speed when he’s finally clear of people surrounding him, frowning when he notices the new texts he’s received. Not sure how to respond, he looks up, startling, when he sees an all too familiar person in front of him. Eyebrow arching, he stops.

It’s been an extremely long time since I’ve gotten to see an NXT event live but I’m pumped to be here watching the event tonight. I’m so ready for the girls to steal the show and show us what they’re capable of. I’ve gotta say that being here makes me miss my NXT days, the electric in the arena is infectious!
