spent the summer prepping for and taking the worst exam of my life, riding out the lease at the worst place i've ever lived,* then being temporarily kinda homeless,** and getting dozens and dozens of job applications rejected. i had some fun in there, but my anxiety has been through the fucking roof on top of my regular summer depression.

then the last two weeks of august happened 😳

everything happens so much. somehow, i managed to find the perfect apartment for a reasonable rent, and now me and Books are living (together!) in a fantastic and charming new home- lots of space, big kitchen table, a balcony facing undeveloped woods, just off one of the major roads in the city that has my favorite grocery store and our favorite sandwich shop (where we were already regulars). plus, i've gotten not one, not two, but three (three!) job offers- and i can take them all!!! one is with a hospital where i did my favorite internship rotation, and i'm so excited that i get to go back there and get paid to do that job, it was a blast. another is right by my new place and it's similar to the other hospital, but it's slightly bigger and sees more complex cases, so i'll be comfortable and confident, but i'll still get some new, specific clinical experience in areas that i'm interested in.

and the third position is... literally my dream job. it's the job that's been the end goal since the moment i chose my field of study. grad school and the internship made me rethink all of my professional goals and push them back, thinking i wouldn't be able to get to them for so long because i'd need ~more experience~. but now i'm. uh. i did it. i did it??!

the two hospital jobs are just part time, but they both pay well. the other won't start for a few months bc my boss*** has to get insurance approval to add me to her private practice,**** but that's okay, because i have a lot of reading and learning i want to do in the meantime to prepare! and then it will start as part time working up to full time as i build up my case load, but i'll also get to decide my own hours and do some work from home. i'll get to work with my favorite kinds of patients! and i'll get fantastic professional development opportunities for specialization, if i want to. the other dietitians in the practice seem lovely, so i'm excited to work with them. and the pay is realllly good, gosh, for being fresh out of the internship, it's nuts.

so things will pick up as i go through orientation and onboarding for the two hospital jobs next month. but it'll get calmer again after that, so i'll have the time and energy to prepare for the more challenging work that starts later, which is really nice.

and in the meantime, i'll be tending the wee garden on my balcony and playing board games with the love of my life 💗

The only important thing about the Kui interview (link in notes because tumblr) actually:

"KUI: Actually, there's no real-life model or reference for that dress. I just combined the clothes that Marcille's mother liked and also combined that with the hood, which was considered a little bit childish."

You know I spent an inordinate amount of time wondering why the hell the Winged Lion put Marcellina in that outfit. We don't see him do that for any other Dungeon Lord.

The reason HE gives is that it's an outfit that "makes you brave" but like that's clearly bullshit. The people around Marcella make fun of it and Kui later in this interview confirms that its not because it looks bad but because its something *she* would never pick herself. So why?

My best guess was an attempt at isolating her. If her friends see her so physically changed they might assume she is beyond saving.

But, going after what Kui says here, the actual reason is subtler and more insidious.

Its an attempt at undermining her and making her feel insecure.

The earmuff hood is associated with children in elven culture and there is NO WAY the demon does not know this. It's an infantilising decision. The lack of shoes is also something associated with children in general.

Picking a colour and shape that reminds Marcella of her mother is a way to remind her of her trauma. We see her mom wearing a somewhat similar black grieving dress when she gives Marcille the speech about going faster than everyone else, at her father's funeral.

Also, while we see Marcille wear black clothes postcanon, nothing she wears is ever as tight-fitting and revealing as that dress is. It's something out of her usual style.

The Lion wants to make it so that when Marcille glances in the mirror she sees a small child wearing her mother's ill-fitting clothes.

INTERVIEW WITH AUBREY YANG

Aubrey Yang, the multi-faceted actress debuts her talent and grit for directing and screenwriting in her short film Pelt, winning the Best Screenplay and a notable nominee for the Best Film during London Film week. Since we've last seen her at Elle New York, she has turned 18, nearing 19 now, and made some drastic changes to her life.

Since her film, Yang has not been in any other production as talent, but teases us with a new project "that's coming soon, don't worry". She adores her new found love for being a creative, and is scouting to get her hands on more projects in Hollywood on that side of the camera.

Her studies continue at New York University and she is set to graduate early, next year. When asked about her ability to balance school and work, she smiles knowingly and tells us that "it's important to take breaks, but more importantly, I've chosen things I love to do".

During these breaks, Yang is often seen with fellow young actress Dior Goodjohn and international pop sensation Olivia Rodrigo. But 18 has brought a new hobby: Formula One.

"I met Lily [Muni He] and Alex [Albon] at a gala, and we hit it off. They're like my parents" she answers adoringly. She has been seen multiple times in both the Williams and Ferrari garages visiting with fans and learning about the mechanics of racing.

"I've met some wonderful people; I never really got to be a regular teenager because I was working and going to university early. They've really helped teach me about having fun and letting loose."

Next year when we inevitably feature her lovely face again, we'll see the new changes to her life.

He has also read Lucy's diary, the first entry of which (24 August) contains these lines: "I must imitate Mina, and keep writing things down. [...] Last night I seemed to be dreaming again just as I was at Whitby."

So, the impression he will have of the facts, upon writing his letter to Mina today, goes something like this:

Mina's then-fiance went to Transylvania and was supposed to return by around 16 May.

Instead, Mina found him terribly ill in a hospital in Budapest on 24 August, about three months later. He had been raving about great and terrible things, but could no longer recall them.

He had written a record of these things.

No one knows what is inside his record, but Mina has possession of it.

He is still fragile/slowly recovering.

Mina was with Lucy on Whitby, where Lucy was likely first attacked.

Mina kept a thorough record of those days.

So his goal in asking to speak to Mina is likely to try and get access to her journal from Whitby, and Jonathan's journal as well if he can manage it (less directly linked but suspicious). Not knowing that she has already read Jonathan's journal, it probably feels like a huge ask (since she sealed it up with great deliberacy) and he probably expects her to have no knowledge of the significance of anything she remembers from Whitby either. No wonder he is so polite and apologetic in his letter.

nuts reading trigun in japanese 6 - kaite's foreshadowing. plant synchronization's downside

remember in my part 3 and 5 i was talking about hierarchy? surprisingly, it continues past chapter 8 with kaite. and wolfwood. triangulating nyoom

(to be honest... ive been doing these read and analysis completely blind in a 1st JP read through. so its possible ill find new nuances, get things wrong as the context shifts and changes, so my stuff looks like its scattered all over the place. sorry about that.)

i think ill start explaining names and meanings. kaite's name in japanese is kaito. カイト. this can be a homonym with i think 怪盗 (kaitou) in this case, which means phantom thief. for trying to help Neon with stealing loot from the Sand Steamer.

^the headaches with manga translations has always been to keep texts short and reasonable for flow and readability, so these simplifications can and sometimes must happen.

but, add dakutens, the " on 2 of those カイト katakanas and suddenly, kaito turns into. ガイド gaido. Guide.

so Kaite has been playing as a guide to lead vash to his death at the hands of Neon. this page is such a fucking whammy with the wordplay going on. if you just read this in japanese theres a moment of "oh shit, no way, Kaite, vash just told you to stop betraying people! what the hell!"

yet theres a level of trust going on already, so its not as bad as it seems

nightow really likes his worldplay. i really like this page.

kaite redeems himself by later charging into the boiler room and helps turn the valve to stop the sand steamer from running off cliff and killing everyone on board....

hm. a guide. and those sequences

we sure have a lot of guides here. one who appears in the manga later with a kansai dialect. and another in TriStamp, where he is younger than he appears.

when i spoke about hierarchy and the fact that vash is over 150, i was also kind of hinting that all of current humanity are akin to children in the system of JP hierarchy. that takes on extra meaning with a little change of context and language

wolfwood is filling in the shoes of kaito here in tristamp. and within trimax, kaito foreshadows him. incredible.

theres actually more going on with wolfwood and certain design/changes choices i wanna talk about with tristamp but ill save it for another day. maybe when i run into him in this read later

Plant Synchronization downside.

....so theres a bad downside to vash synchronizing with the plant that i didn't catch. which also answers what the fuck was going on in tristamp when that version of him hits the ground

nightow mentions this in an interview, link here posted and transcribed by xoxo-otome (thank you!) that he likes action flicks and has incorporated a lot of action into his work. and its true. there is so much action in the form of sound effects.

reading through the entire manga and paying attention to the sfx peppered around offers a lot more context to whats happening in half of the panels that seemingly doesnt make sense

like this one where the top panel has "DADADADADA" sfx. so they're stomping down the corridor with their guns crossed and facing each other. the "GO OH" in the bottom panel emphasizes the sudden burst into open air. unfortunately, anyone who values their life and sanity in this economy will not want to translate trigun's sfxs 100%.

i should have paid more attention when reading trigun in english. but i didn't so here i am. in the trigunbookclub tag now doing this.

why is it important? here. this. below. when vash does his plant thing with his sister:

Not-so-friendly reminder that you cannot be a system without trauma.

According to the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Illness (DSM-5), a history of childhood abuse and neglect is prevalent in 90% of cases of dissociative identity disorder (DID). The remaining cases involve medical trauma, terrorism, and childhood prostitution. Ninety percent is overwhelming. Other research claims that rates of abuse and neglect in DID are actually much higher.

DID develops in response to severe, recurring trauma in childhood. Children are not fully equipped to cope with continued, severe instances of abuse, so they may develop dissociation as a survival skill, which can then develop into DID. It makes sense, then, that the rate of childhood abuse and neglect in people with DID is so high.

The authors interviewed 102 individuals with clinical diagnoses of multiple personality disorder at four centres using the Dissociative Disorders Interview Schedule. Causes

Dissociative identity disorder (DID) is the result of repeated or long-term childhood trauma, most frequently child abuse or neglect, that is often combined with disorganized attachment or other attachment disturbances. DID cannot form after ages 6-9 because individuals older than these ages have an integrated self identity and history. Trauma later in life can lead to posttraumatic stress disorder or complex posttraumatic stress disorder, other dissociative disorders including other specified dissociative disorder, somatic symptom disorders, or possibly borderline personality disorder, but DID requires an unintegrated mind to form.

People often talk about all the projects David and Catherine worked on together.

But how often did they really work together (on stage or in front of a camera)? I'm new to the whole Tatennant thing, and the only projects I'm aware of are Doctor Who and Much Ado About Nothing. 🫣

I hope you are enjoying your time in the Tatennant fandom!

David and Catherine don't get cast together in drama projects outside Doctor Who unless they have a hand in it. Like the Comic Relief sketch, Big Night In, The Ballad of Russell & Julie, Nan's Christmas Carol, or MAAN.

But they've appeared in TV shows like Never Mind the Buzzcocks, Alan Carr: Chatty Man, The Graham Norton Show, and The Jonathan Ross Show to do promotions. They also presented a few radio shows for Jonathan Ross, helping out when he was ill, on one occassion. They used to have the link to listen/download this on david-tennant.com, but they stopped doing this a while ago.

They also both took part in the comedians interview BBC Radio 4 show Chain Reaction. Comedy gold, and always makes me laugh.

More often than not, where one leads, the other follows. This has happened with things like This Is Jinsey, The Friday/Sunday Night Project, Very British Problems, the Nativity films (David was in Nativity 2, and Catherine in Nativity 3) and Duck Tales. They presented the 400 years of Shakespeare programme Shakespeare Live! together in 2016; and last year they presented a BAFTA together.

Of course, there has been the glory that are the Big Finish audio adventures that feature the Doctor and Donna Noble: volumes 1, 3, and Kidnapped. You can find snippets of these on the Big Finish website.

They were scheduled to appear together as a married couple in a comedy called Americons, but the pandemic put paid to that idea. *sigh* Shame.

Hopefully, there are a few things here that you'd like to seek out later.

Golden maknae on Suchwita

This episode was filmed on the 27th June, a couple of days after the D-Day concerts in Seoul and just before Seven was announced on the 29th June.

Yoongi didn't waste any time to ask JK about a comment he made while watching Jimin on Suchwita. It was similar to JK's comment on Yoongi in the Seven MV recording video and on a recent live after he had been to the D-Day concert. JK finds Yoongi cute but not cool.

Yoongi though thinks JK is the epitome of genius and cool.

Jungkook admitted that if he hadn't found Seven he would probably still be enjoying his break.

But it has definitely spurred him into action and we can now expect quite a lot of new music from him before 2023 closes.

He's been getting in shape fort he promos.

It's kind of ironic that Suga was talking about being ill during his tour and then a few weeks later JK also suffered from a cold during his promotions in UK and USA.

Yoongi is always saying JK has grown up and this interview was no exception while JK echoed what he said in Beyond the Story talking about the influence the other members have had on him.

Whatever content he films JK always seems to include the key elements of food, drink and singing. His vlog last year is a prime example and today's Suchwita episode was no exception.

Let's face it Jungkook wore Yoongi out. This was the first time he left before his guest. His face here just sends me.

Jimin was mentioned a couple of times. Yoongi had been out drinking with him a few days before the recording and Serendipity played when JK and Yoongi are talking about BTS's current and future relationship with ARMY. Also JK's bottle ended up sitting on the shelf next to Jimin's.

Do you think that there is a possibility that Pepe might be considering quitting racing altogether?

I say this because I recently saw an excerpt of an interview, where Pepe mentioned that he nearly quit racing in 2020, after a bad year, until his parents encouraged him to keep going.

He's had a terrible year this year and this last weekend with the crash left him visibly shook in a way I haven't seen him before.

Plus, he has joined university and I'm not sure what the point of that is, if he's really serious about his racing career. Other drivers like Ollie Bearman quit school early and have said that you need to give racing your 110%, which you can't do, if you are trying to do school and racing at the same time.

Finishing school is one thing but I was very surprised when I heard that Pepe was pursuing university as well. It might be a controversial opinion, but I don't think that's the right move for him, when he's already struggling in F2 this year. He needs to focus and give more time to racing next year, but instead, he is putting more on his plate and risking not maximising his chances and giving racing his best shot next year too.

He's so young, he can always pursue university later if he needs to, instead of doing it now, when it's going to potentially affect his chances of succeeding in motorsports, where there is such a narrow window of opportunity, which he only has now and which won't be available in the future.

ABOUT THE UNI THING THOUGH OMG i asked my friend the EXACT same thing and she told me she doesn’t think he plans on quitting racing just from “vibes” so i was like yeah okay whatever but honestly i get what you mean too because in my mind, uni is such a time consuming and overwhelming commitment the way racing is and he will (ultimately) have to choose what he wishes to prioritise more in his life

i know lorenzo fluxa once mentioned that he was starting uni soon in a prema vid (but i think that vid was posted like a year ago), and now he’s currently racing in elms (i think?? ill have to check) and idk if he’s still pursuing his education but he is basically doing what pepe is doing yk? and if he is still in uni rn, i feel like that just shows that studying while racing is still very possible (although i do think its very tiring and honestly, not very smart because you won’t be able to fully commit to either)

but i also believe that pepe’s family really does prioritise having a good educational background, because there was also an article talking about how his mum was very proud of the fact that her son was one of the few drivers in f3 who actually completed his compulsory education. plus pepe has mentioned multiple times that his mum/parents wanted him and his sisters to speak really good english and therefore put them in educational institutions/with educators that could teach them to be perfect english speakers so it would maybe make sense that a uni degree was always a part of what was planned for him in his life

and idk if this is weird but his family basically founded (i think??) movento, and its a really big company in spain LOL (ofc i mean racing is expensive and they have to fund him somehow) and i think there are quite a few family members who are a part of the company and in the more higher ranking positions in the company, so then i looked at their linked in (not stalked!! because it’s public info anyway) and they all come from pretty good edcational backgrounds so having a good education was probably (again) what was always expected of pepe

i think itll be unfortunate if he ends up quitting though because if we sit down and properly think for a sec, there’s already been millions lost to funding his career so far, and i know racing already caused him to not do as well in high school, and that he himself thought it was so amazing that he ended up passing his IBs so BASICALLY what im trying to say is that chances are, he might not be in a very good uni because of entry requirements and etc. (unless he paid for a spot somewhere? maybe?) and his degree will still be a degree, but it’s not the same as a degree from a better educational institution and that if he does quit racing, it’s probably just a degree that will help him either work in his family company in the future, or go back into racing in a different position like an engineer or something idk (i mean he’s mentioned the engineer part before so it wouldn’t be completely shocking yk)

In the aftermath of the coup against Evo Morales, former members of his government we held as political prisoners-

Lorgia Fuentes, tortured and chained by the Añez regime

Lorgia Fuentes, victim of the coup d'état, questioned this Tuesday that the former de facto president, Jeanine Áñez, asserts that her rights are violated, when she does not suffer torture and access to health is respected.  

Fuentes was tortured during the Áñez regime and chained to a hospital stretcher when she was in poor health. She was accused without evidence of having links with former authorities of the Evo Morales government, for which she was deprived of liberty at the Obrajes Women's Orientation Center in La Paz.

On that occasion, the Spanish journalist Alejandro Entrambasaguas joined the process against Fuentes to present alleged evidence to the Public Ministry and accuse her of illicit enrichment; However, he failed to prove what was reported and did not respond to calls to give informative statements on the case to date.

“I have suffered a cerebrovascular accident and four months later, on January 15, I was electrocuted by Mrs. Áñez's Government. On January 21, Entrambasaguas went out in search of me, but he did not find me; On January 25, Mrs. Áñez announced her intention to be a candidate for the Presidency and a few days later, as the press already knows, she arrested me, I went to jail, there was no mercy for me, there was no justice," she said in interview with Bolivia TV.

Fuentes assured that during the regime his family suffered harassment and that he even received warnings that his six-year-old son was going to be disappeared.

“No one is electrocuting Ms. Áñez like me, no one has her chained like I was; but, above all, Mrs. Áñez is not being deprived of what is the right to health, in addition to the fact that she was not sick, she does not have an underlying illness like I have had, a cerebrovascular infarction, which she had its immediate sequence or its second cerebrovascular infarction the day they electrocuted me, because they electrocuted me until I had convulsions,” Fuentes lamented.  

Lorgia Fuentes, who was prosecuted and detained in 2020 due to information disseminated by the Spanish journalist Alejandro Entrambasaguas, questioned the media's handling of her case at that time. She described the situation as “embarrassing media orgies.” 

In a text sent to this medium, Fuentes recalled that in February 2020, information was disseminated that Entrambasaguas had presented evidence against him to the Prosecutor's Office.

Then, Entrambasaguas stated that he had an audio recording in which it was heard that Lorgia Fuentes had installed a closed circuit of video surveillance cameras in a home, with which orgies of senior officials of Evo Morales' government had been recorded.

Fuentes considered what happened in February 2020 as a “sexist media show,” because she was also presented as the “alleged lover” of former minister Carlos Romero.

He questioned that the recordings referred to by the Spanish journalist had not been offered and that it had not been mentioned that Entrambasaguas left Bolivia that same day.

Fuentes considered that in that case there was “gigantic coverage forced from above in the Bolivian media, which with little self-esteem and shamefully lowering their eyes had to follow the flow of the tabloid licentiousness of expression.”

“The circus is gone. "Bolivia is slow, but little by little it is returning to normal relations, which, despite the internal political fights, still maintain certain values, limits and modesty," says the text signed by Fuentes.

“I was a political prisoner throughout the Áñez government. They set up a case using a supposedly investigative journalist, the Spaniard Alejandro Entrambasaguas, who has done terrorist work, linking me to contracts with the Chinese government and being a close friend of former minister Carlos Romero,” she recalled.At that time, the pseudo journalist Entrambasaguas acted with impunity in the country under the protection of Arturo Murillo, Minister of Government of the de facto regime, in order to incriminate former authorities linked to the Movement Towards Socialism (MAS).

In this particular case, she boasted of having conclusive evidence to prosecute Fuentes for the crime of illicit enrichment and of being Romero's alleged lover, documents that she never showed but that were used by the Prosecutor's Office to imprison her.

Chained to a hospital bed, she remained there for several days by direct order of former Minister Murillo before being transferred to the Obrajes prison.“I have been chained, apart from being chained I was tortured when I had to be fed with a tube, that is how I was treated all that time. Now I ask for justice, there are many who say it is revenge, it is not revenge, it is justice, because many families were affected and tortured by the Áñez government,” Fuentes demanded.

Rightwing media attempted to spread lies about the identity of the woman in chains, to which she responded to on Twitter in 2022.

A certain Hernán Terrazas lies, claiming that the photo of a chained woman "belongs to another country." Which one? Chávez's Venezuela? Communist Cuba? Or Evo's Bolivia? Nope, the photo is mine, from February 2020 during the presidency of a woman, @JeanineAnez. So, now was it a coup now?

I’ve never had to share personal information on here, but my family is dealing with a crisis, and I’m desperate, so here goes.

My fiancé immigrated to the US from Haiti as a child. His mother made an enormous sacrifice, giving up her *only* child and arranging for family to take him in and raise him. He left at age 9, and they weren’t reunited until he was finally able to travel back to Haiti to visit her in 2022.

After becoming a US citizen just a few years ago, he started the process of filing paperwork to bring her to the US. I don’t need to tell you that our immigration system is deeply broken. I might, however, need to tell you that Haitians in particular have an extremely difficult time getting visas due to a number of reasons. After their president was assassinated in 2021, things became exponentially worse. Gangs took control of Haiti’s capital, Port-au-Prince, terrorizing its citizens and displacing thousands.

Just as my fiancé’s mother was finally cleared for an immigration interview, the violence escalated to the point that the US shut down its only embassy in Haiti. No embassy means no interviews. So, we changed course and applied for Form I-134A, AKA “The Biden Program,”a new review process specifically for Haitians, Nicaraguans, and Venezuelans. Basically, it’s a lottery for expedited travel, no interview needed. For months, we waited for an update.

Which brings us to this Tuesday, January 2nd. As we were getting ready for work, we got the call that she had suddenly become violently ill and had been rushed to the hospital. An hour later, she was dead.

We’re traveling to Haiti to bury her next week, but even after tapping into our honeymoon fund, the funeral costs are beyond what we can cover. So, we’re asking for help. valenwind--i mean... come on LOL this one has been with me since i was 11 or 12 (over a decade now!). extremely foundational and, even when i wasn't actively into FF7, has been on my mind ever since i played the game years ago. something something red and blue gays, something something dark hair and blonde hair, something something short and tall. they just fulfill so many good "tropes" and also god i just like these characters SO much its unbelievable. i cannot wait for (what i hope is) the sheer amount of screenshots and screen records of the third part of FF7:R when they are PLAYABLE. the party banter... oh lord...

VKaz--ok... so i am actually a massive Metal Gear Solid fan. i got into it around-ish the same time as i got into FF7 and wow did it change my brain chemistry. there are a few MGS ships that are bone deep in me, but VKaz does something else to me. its blinding. its visceral. its like... wow. it doesn't help that Kaz is probably my favorite character in the game and Venom is sooooo. yeah. cute... idk! but i could probably talk about these guys for literally hours. and it would be incomprehensible. ik this is my squeenix blog but if anyone ever wants to talk MGS with me...

tie (sorry LOL) between akusai and stakhemy--those are so so so different but whatever LOL. akusai is also ages old, one of my first ships. i actually used to be much more into xemsai but akusai has taken the reins. KH is also a decade+ interest of mine (my late childhood/early teen trifecta was KH, FF7, and MGS) so i have so much to say... also i think i am in love with Saix lowkey. now, stakhemy is a new one and much more niche (any Pathologic fans?). i made one of the best character/ship spotify playlists ever for those guys. whenever i think of Rubin i become a little ill. i just find them so fascinating (Patho is super interesting on its own anyways).

OKAY SO. the thing about point nemo is that like. not much is known about it, which makes sense. it's isolated, hard to get to, and if anything goes wrong, the chances of rescue are Thin because of the fact that literal astronauts in space are closer to you than any eathbound people. however! there was a really interesting phenomena that occurred nearby once

so, as i mentioned before, when writing his cthulhu mythos, lovecraft got WEIRDLY close to the actual location of point nemo for a place that wouldn't be founded until like, 60+ years later. keep this in mind.

in 1997, one of the loudest recorded underwater sounds was heard, which you can hear for yourself here [link]. the sound seemed to emanate from the approximate area of point nemo and was deemed the bloop, which is SUCH a cute name for something that sounds like That. now, at the time NO ONE knew what the fuck this thing was. theories ranged from bombs to military weapons testing to all kinds of crazy stuff. and, obviously, the most prominent theory was that it was generated by some sort of animal/creature. sperm whales can create frequencies so powerful they could potentially kill a human, and blue whales' calls are able to be heard from 800 km away, so it wasn't necessarily impossible that this sound was organic, too. i bring up cthulhu above because this thing spawned SO many conspiracy theories about aliens, or underwater civilizations we could barely fathom, or, as mentioned, literal cthulu. i think fox news did an interview on it once where they said they believed it was aliens. to no one's surprise

well, in 2005 we got our answer! the bloop wasn't caused by some eldritch monster or government weapons testing conspiracy. it was just an icequake! a HUGE chunk of ice (like, iceberg-sized chunk) had broken from the antarctic glacier, and that was the noise that its breaking off produced! some people still act like it's this huge terrifying mystery to this day, but it was just global warming </3
