once again no clue what ask game this is from and i do not want to go find out so it's time for america's favorite game show: i say something off the top of my head i guess

britta + ilfyn have a fuckin weird relationship. there's a bit of resentment from ilfyn considering britta's whole trying to end the world phase, but it mostly just manifests as her pretending britta isn't there. honestly i don't know that there's a better way to handle the "my adopted parental figure is now hooking up with the woman who very recently tried to kill everyone i care about" situation though so props to ilfyn

👁️ for Ilfyn?

👁️ EYE - what colour are their eyes? do people notice their eyes? is there anything special about them (shows emotion easily, literally magical...)?

long post incoming with lots of awful visual aids. gonna start this one out with a helpful diagram

there's a bunch of steps in between these two though bc ilfyn has an absurd amount of eye stuff for whatever reason. here's the timeline

-1325-1328: regular old ilfyn! normal white sylvari eyes

-1328: near the end of heart of thorns ilfyn gets corrupted and her eyes get scary. one of them gets shot in the final confrontation with her before reaching trahearne

fun fact! ilfyn losing an eye is leftover from my very first concepts of her. i decided she was going to get corrupted before i even named her. the original version had vines or a flower growing through the eye (gross) as u can see in this um. ugly old art i am willing to share

gross. worse than i remembered. anyway i realized on this last round of redesigning that that was a. ugly and b. impractical so i cut the eye vines, extra eye(s) and extra arms. to be totally honest, if i were creating ilfyn today i'm not sure i would've gone with the mordrem arc at all, and probably not the eye loss! but they're sticking around bc i like them just fine and also nostalgia factor

1329? a good chunk into season 3: ilfyn comes stumbling out of the jungle to finally meet aurene after spending several months dead or in a coma. ilfyn and aurene's bond as champion + scion is officially marked by aurene semi-branding ilfyn, somewhat fixing her corruption and turning her remaining eye blue. ilfyn also starts turning blue, but that's a gradual thing that doesn't fully come through until season 4

1332 - before all or nothing: taimi hooks ilfyn up with a prosthetic eye from a rata sum contact. it doesn't match her branded eye but it CAN do this
