little disclaimer before you read: i know very little about goth culture, so please be kind😭. i googled all the artist mentioned here, means i never listened to their music or whatsoever lol.

so, i think they would meet in a music store, that typa thing, yk? where all the vinyls are and maybe some guitars and drums.

goth!reader is looking at some vinyls, just relaxing to the music playing in the background, completely shutting their surroundings out.

goth!ghost stands a couple meters away, also looking at vinyls, but glancing at them through the corner of his eye. They’re just so pretty… maybe he should ask them out? they surely would say yes, right?

after a little pep talk to himself he slowly approaches them, looking over their shoulder. “y’listen t’bauhaus?” he asks with his heavy british accent and readers head shoots up.

they look behind them, being surprised about someone standing behind them. he’s tall, easily 6’4, black clothes with a pierced eyebrow.

“i- yeah. but i also listen to ikon and uh, the cure,” they tell him and ghost slowly nods. he knows those bands. of course he does.

“what do you listen to?” reader asks, now fully turning to look at the man.

“mainly the 69 eyes. som’times skeletal family,” he says, his eyes piercing through readers soul. “can y’uggest m’any other artist tho?”

reader thinks for a second before they nod and start to walk towards one of the vinyl shelves. “you know rosetta stone?”

“yea. d’nt listen t’them,” he mumbles, earning a surprised stare from reader.

“you have to be kidding me!”

“nah. n’t my style,” ghost simply shrugs, burying his hands in the pocket of his hoodie.

“y’know what,” reader starts to smile. “i have some good vinyls at home. why don’t we, uh, meet and i show you their music. really show.”

for a second they’re afraid he’ll say no but he only returns their smile, if not as enthusiastic but still, and agrees.

“when are y’free?”

now reader starts to grin and searches for a piece of paper in their bag. they quickly scribble their address down, handing it to him. “tomorrow, 7pm. don’t be late.”

with that they give ghost one last smile before they leave the store, leaving him alone to panic over the date he thought would never happen.

The way that Ikone carried himself around school was your stereotypical bad boy, he hung out with mostly demons, ogres, sirens and other more scarier and bigger monsters that attended this academy. His mother was the assistant dean of the school, so people knew he had power in the school. Most would throw themselves at him, hoping to get with him.

But this Oni had his eyes on someone already.

“Ah!~ There’s my baby~!”

He quickly crossed the common area to scoop up ‘his baby’ from the seat she was sitting in with her friends. All smaller, ‘weaker’ monsters like fairies, slimes, and elementals who looked at him with looks of annoyance and partial fear. He was the assistant dean’s son after all.

Ikone may portray himself as a bad boy, someone who was scary to all other monsters, but with you, he was like a giant puppy. Always following you around, carrying your bags for you, even if it’s just one. He was dedicated to you fully and only you!

He loves planning cute dates!

Taking you to nearby carnivals, having cute picnics under the stars, cooking for you at his home.

His parents adore you! His mother, Mara, gave you the nickname tinkerbell after seeing how pouty you used to get when you had to be separated from him when you were children. Daniel Park:

Daniel likes alternative/indie pop, Soul, and R&B. He likes any song that gives a chill vibe to it and songs with nice lyrics.

Khai Dreams, mxmtoon, Keshi, etc.

He enjoys listening to Lo-Fi too, while he just lays on the ground in his house, relaxing, contemplating about events in his life until he accidentally falls asleep.

Sometimes, he sends Jay a text message asking what songs he’d recommend and Jay would send him a three-page list of songs in an online document

Zack Lee:

Hip-hop, Rap, and R&B

Consists of hyped artists like Drake, 21 Savage, A$AP Rocky, Lil Uzi, etc.

He used to be a big fan of Kanye West, but after Kanye’s multiple controversies, he stopped listening to his music because he now believes that he’s trash.

But on days when he feels down, he listens to artists like Joji. *insert Glimpse of Us here while Zack cries a river*

Vasco:

He also enjoys listening to R&B and Soul music by Chris Brown, Jason Derulo, Usher, Ne-Yo, etc.

Gun HATES the music that Goo puts on whenever he’s driving themselves to any destination. He gets annoyed whenever Goo takes the AUX chord and plays weird songs from “sus” artists such as DBangz, Lil Boom, and sometimes Yung Gravy.

Gun punched Goo one time when he started blasting “Thick ****** and Anime Tiddies”. Gun would yell at him saying, “What is this trash?!” and the fight would eventually escalate to another one of their side-of-the-road brawls

This man’s taste in music is ALL OVER THE PLACE. Just chaotic.

He enjoys listening to fun and bouncy music, that goes with his moods really well (Pop or hip-hop, it doesn’t matter to him. Just no country music. He, “can’t stand that shit.”)

On days when Gun is annoyed with Goo, he’ll intentionally play country music just to annoy Goo just to get back at him, while going on long drives anywhere. Goo would eventually punch Gun on the arm, almost causing the car to swerve, until Gun decides to pull the car to the side of the road and fight him then and there.

Goo is a big fan of Tyler the Creator, since he’s also a big goofy guy who doesn’t care about anyone else but himself and making money (through his music). Not only does he like his unique style and music, but he finds him very admirable for not caring about people’s thoughts on him, no matter what type of outrageous or unusual things he says.

He definitely enjoys listening to popular anime OPs and OSTs from anime that he liked when he’s at home.

DG:

DG doesn’t have a preferred taste in music, but he enjoys music outside of his own demographic.

Since he always listens to K-pop 24/7 (because of his job), he doesn’t mind listening to other types of music as well, and seeks out for new music to listen to.

He collects vinyl records of these famous artists, and likes listening to jazz music while sipping on a cup of tea or coffee, admiring the sweet tunes of the Roaring Twenties while looking out the window from his office.

Not only does he like classical, and jazz music, but he’s also interested in Traditional Pop. (The forefathers who started pop and got famous in Las Vegas shows.)

Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Paul Anka, etc. puts him in a very festive mood, especially while sitting in his office while putting together a blueprint of his devious plans.

@tanninivver​ asked me how I would film Dune. Here’s how I answered:

I think Dune is unfilmable, so I accept whatever I do will be a failure, but the approach I see working is making it extremely dreamlike.

How dreamlike? Literally dreamlike - I want there to be a sort of framing narrative where the dreamer is the teenage son of an American oilman living in some farang-compound in the Gulf. These scenes are filmed in black and white, and appear whenever Paul is having a plot-relevant vision.

It also replaces the initial loredump -- we begin the film with a slice of life establishing scene of Paul!real interacting with his father (Duke Leto), his father’s araboid boss (Emperor Shaddam), his daughter (Irulan), some creepy ginger sexpat pig who works for the company (Vlad) etc.

(This way I can also hire my oil farang cousins to be consultants)

There’s going to be a lot of multiple roles. As well as the doubled casting in the Gulf scenes, I see, fpr instance, Gurney, Duncan and mb Thufir being played by the same character (a charismatic chief of engineering guy in the Gulf company) in fantastic costumes. No established actors, all new talent.

The religious symbolism is very very heavy -- I want to represent that “all the mysteries are revealed”. We see characters making du’a, women outside the house wear veils, Paul is wearing not military dress but a sünnet type costume during the Gom-Jabbar scene, people are carrying around Orange Catholic Bibles, crossing themselves, ikons everywhere and so forth.

The Bene Gesserit and the Guild are the exception. The Bene Gesserit are *not* space nuns. They’re dressed like cynical businesswomen, suits even. I want the materialist viewer to be able to project onto them. The guildsmen also wear business suits and are Epic Science Lovers. They are, in fact, slightly dreamier versions of the suits the characters wear in the “Gulf” scenes.

I am not sure if the “Gulf” scenes are set in the 70s or contemporary -- both sound good.

I want the Heighliner, full of little ships, to evoke Reddit, a place where people of all creeds some together. Updoot arrows, It’s gotta look like a webbed sight.

The CHOAM reps wear fedoras and look fishoid. They look like this, in fact:

All the Harkonnens are played by the same actor, which means fat suits will be involved because the same guy has to play twinky Feyd-Rautha and Vlad. Because it’s Paul’s dream, the pederastic sexual threat is played up -- Gulf!Paul is terrified of the sexpat, and that’s gonna come over in the dream -- this Vlad definitely wants to rape Paul. But generally, all the Harkonnens are Vlad narcissistically diddling himself.

Except for Piter, who is obviously Dutch. He even speaks Dutch and dresses Dutch and eats bitterbollen.

I also want to show the drug addicts as drug addicts. I hate especially how every film does blue laser eyes-of-ibad. They should look *diseased* -- sclera stained dark indigo, all mucous membranes too. You should be able to tell their blood is full of it -- they bleed black, and thick, and oily.

The dream conceit should remind you of the Wizard of Oz. What should remind you even more is that the overwhelming colour of the sietches is indigo blue, Emerald City style. The fremen make everything from spice, spice metabolites get everywhere, Everything should be blue.

The spice itself is dark blue -- outside of the sietches, the nobility should treat it exactly like cocaine. There’s gonna be a weird arrakis water-presevation toilet scene where someone snorts a bump.

Another theme I want to express is a duality of the spice. Most of the time we see it, it’s being abused, dirty, dark stuff, but it’s full of potential. It should glow when it’s in storage.

You have maybe seen pictures of Muhammad dressed like this:

face veil, moses-style, and fire on his head. As the Jihad picks up, and Paul becomes the messiah, the Fremen should be transfigured from filthy Third World junkies to this -- blue/white fireheads.

The worms are giant veined penises. The maker hooks go into the foreskin at the front. They are dentate -- penis dentatus finally given the treatment it deserves.

The sietches, contrarily, are vulvas in the sand. This explains why the Harkonnens do not know about them, because Vlad is obsessed only with the worms. Paul, on the other hand, is bisexual.

Calcium's List of K-Pop Worth a Damn Pt.2

Hello my beloved mutuals.

It is I, Calcium, who has consumed way too much K-Pop and has opinions on which songs (and by extension artists) are actually worth a damn.

This is part two because there was so much K-Pop to sort through, and this part is going to cover the male artists whether groups or soloists. I do not expect you to enjoy every single one on this list, but I do think these songs are worth at least one listen.

In Case This Breaks Containment: Please understand this list was made for my mutuals and my mutuals only. Just because a song or artist is not on this list does not mean I think the song or artist is bad. Except for BTS, with all due respect I think their solo work outshines their group work by a margin which is why two of their members are in the solo area listing but there is no group song listed.

Ateez: They are very hard hitting and all their songs feel like cinematic experiences. My go to boy group, and I don't think there is a song of theirs I don't like.

Enhypen: Can I just say supernatural concept and be done with this section? Yeah, I think I will.

Taemin: Honestly I was just going to leave it at his name, but I cannot explain how sexy his voice is. The man is known as The Idol's Idol for a reason.

Tomorrow X Together or TXT: They honestly have a little bit of everything from more chipper music to darker music. My personal favorites are the moments where they sound like an actual band like Run Away, I Know I Love You, and Loser=Lover.

Stray Kids: A little grab bag of everything when it comes to the 'love yourself' message. If that isn't enough for my mutuals, not only do they have my seal of approval but they also have my mother's seal of approval so uh take that as what it is.

Bonus Recommendation

KARD's music is wonderful, but since they are a co-ed group I was unsure where to put them. In terms of their songs I adore Gunshot and Red Moon as it was the song that got me into them.
