Chapters 211-213
So Suwa shared the results with his teammates, definitley fitting of his style, I wonder if sharing the results will be universal amongst the squads?
Hyuse goes yeah. let’s fuckin cheat it’ll be okay and everyone else who goes to school is like. What.
THATS. A LOT OF RICE??? Is this what she plans on eating for the week??? A year’s worth of rice??? Chika honey. Please get some nutrients...
Kodera previous to this is a character who’s been kinda subtly in the background since the beginning, so it’s nice when he gets moments where he stands out. This chapter has me thoroughly convinced that Miwa squad is gonna be on the expedition, since we’re getting this focus on Kodera now, and Miwa and Yoneya are both pretty major side characters. Plus, there’s a bunch of set up with Miwa that would be developed well during the expedition. For other A rank squads, I expect Kako squad and Kazama squad, and then of course, a hand full of B rank agents
Behold, the most fanservice we’ve ever gotten in World Trigger and will probably ever get. Classic Ikoma moment
Literally who could’ve seen Hyuse being such an icon. Canada memes, goat memes, illiteracy memes, Ashihara really gave us everything
Kazama is so serious in the story but at any given opportunity Ashihara will give us the wildest little moments, like drunken capybara riding escapades.
I really like this moment here. Suwa recognizes that Osamu is hard on himself, and preemptively goes out of his way to reassure him. He’s taking personal responsibility as captain, and also as the oldest member of the group. It’s something I really appreciate Ashihara including

Parade of Nations - Cuba
French: Cuba // English: Cuba // Japanese: キューバ (Kyūba)
Cuba formed its National Olympic Committee in 1926 and participated in its first Olympics as a country at the 1928 Amsterdam Summer Olympics. They haven’t hosted any Olympic Games, but they’ve participated in 17 Summer Games and no Winter Games. The Olympic sport in which Cuba leads the sport is Baseball and has medaled in Athletics, Basketball, Boxing, Canoeing, Cycling, Fencing, Judo, Sailing, Shooting, Swimming, Taekwondo, Volleyball, Weightlifting, and Wrestling.
Kimono Maker: Teruo Ikoma/ 生駒 暉夫
“An ambitious work that broke new ground for the author, taking the whole as a substitute for the color and blue, and devising a way to connect the ground color with the silhouette of a dark blue palm tree, and the yellow national flower wrapped the whole. Many icons such as liquor, tobacco, cigars, classic cars, musical instruments, parliament building, etc., which are Cuban culture, are rhythmically studded, and people's cheerful singing voice, life, and musical tone can be heard by notes and staff notation. I can feel it. The skill of putting together a crowded design by the gentleness of the outline by the technique using colored threads also feels the creativity of a veteran artist of the Japan Kogei Association.”[1]
Obi Maker: Kawashima Selkon Textiles Co.,Ltd./ 川島織物セルコン
“Rhythmically arranged typical instruments used in "Cuban rhythm" such as salsa and rumba, which are full of Cuban passion, tres guitar, butter drum, and maracas. The colors and musical notes that image the national flag represent the nation. Incorporating the history and music that have survived various revolutions into the design, weaved it in a rich volume with gold thread and various colored threads.” [1]

You know I'm annoyed that I'm only just now finding out the full context of the "My mother dreamed a sun entered her" story of Hideyoshi's birth.
The Eng articles/books that I read didn't elaborate, and maybe I'm just not paying enough attention, but the text apparently actually says: The mother had gone to Hiyoshi shrine to pray to have a child. THEN she dreamed that the sun entered her. The Hi of Hiyoshi means sun. Basically it says that the god of the shrine answered her prayer.
So this story actually makes sense and is not just random self-aggrandization. It is a bit outlandish, but narrative-wise it's sensible. Also the "monkey" nickname becomes sensible, as it's the divine animal of the Hiyoshi shrines. If so then maybe jt's actually something of a good thing, then, not mockery.
Also in the sarugami legends, they were associated with the sun (because monkeys are early risers?) and agriculture, and it's probable that it's why Hiyoshi shrine is named like that in the first place.
So......... I'm inclined to think that this is just a ridiculous roundabout narrative to associate Hideyoshi to the Hiyoshi shrines... FOR SOME REASON. Farmer, sun, monkey... these are all icons associated with the Hiyoshi shrines. Why? Maybe to secretly hint at people that Hideyoshi is enshrined in a Hiyoshi shrine in the anti-Toyotomi Tokugawa era?
Does that mean the Ikoma story is the "correct" one? But the Maeno documents are kind of suspicious to some extent... argh
