Jean never expected to be here. Jean didn’t expect to be alive. Jean didn’t expect much of anything, really.
So imagine his surprise to remember that a blonde painter had arms tightly wrapped around his waist and kept drawing him closer into the scent of dry paint and sunflowers, a hint of pancake batter mixed in there, too.
Jean tried to move away, only to have the arm around him tense and pull him further in. A small hum came from the sleeping painter, his head resting on back of Jean's neck. He couldn’t help it when an uncomfortable shudder went through him. His lips were so close to his ear, the beating of his heart right against his back…
Sure, they agreed beforehand but he never expected this. A part of him wanted to escape. It was all too much, too new. Yet Vincent wouldn’t let him get away, and maybe that was for the better. Despite the blank face and cold demeanor, he was sensitive to many, many things. A case of touch-starvation didn’t help the fact. After a momentary inner conflict, Jean let out a deep sigh and dug his face into the pillow beside him. He could do it. He fell asleep like this once tonight, he could do it again.
He came to learn that there were a lot of firsts when being revived as a vampire.
It was the first time he ever felt attracted to someone, let alone a man.
It was only when Vincent started painting outside more often that Jean started feeling… things. Tingles in his stomach whenever he saw the man paint a dark night sky with swirls of light. Shakes when he caught glimpses of a notebook filled with anatomy practice and fencing positions, all suspiciously bearing a resemblance to Jean. It could be argued that a few were Napoleon, though. The lines were messy enough. These sensations started following him around the mansion, too. At the dinner table, he always felt lighter when he heard Vincent giggle at something Arthur said. Eventually, a simple greeting smile sent a shiver through the poor soldier’s body and all he could do was scuttle off into the piano room.
Vincent was too radiant for a sinner to handle, he deduced. It seemed logical at the time. Jean’s chest was always empty and Vincent always had light to bring to someone. The world was a better place with Vincent in it and it was worse with Jean. That was just how things were. Jean was ready to accept that over… Well…
“Can I paint you?”
It was the first time anyone ever asked… that. Jean had been avoiding Vincent, more than usual, but one late night out of his room for a bottle of Rouge led to them meeting again. Vincent was already coated in paint, perhaps from a late night project, filling one of his paint cups with fresher water.
Jean was a frozen statue for a while, but when Vincent’s smile slowly faded, he suddenly came to. “Why me?” he asked, quietly.
Vincent looked to the side, the enthusiasm of the initial question trailing off. “I’ve never seen anyone like you?”
So unclean, full of sin and guilt?
“So… pretty?”
Jean shifted on his feet uncomfortably, staring at the painter in front of him with wide eyes.
Vincent was quick to catch his mistake. “In a manly way! Very male-orientated. But beautiful and elegant, too! So, um, beautifully handsome? Does that make sense?”
Not at all. Jean felt his entire mind and body shut down, then come back, then shut down again.
Beautiful? Handsome? Was this some sick joke?
“You didn’t drink that, did you?” Jean asked, shyly pointing to the paint-stained cup in his hands.
Vincent glanced down at it, then backed up. “No, I don’t believe so,” he almost chuckled, “Why would you think that?”
“You don’t seem in your right mind,” he responded. “I’m none of what you have described me as. I would suggest getting your eyes checked in the near future.” Jean turned to make his exit, bottle of Rouge in hand.
Vincent’s lips went ajar, blinking in disbelief. Then, he laughed. Jean froze. It was almost insulting to hear that. “Well, I don’t think so. I don’t know you too well, sure, but you seem nice.”
Those words sent butterflies through him.
Whenever Jean looked in the mirror, all he saw was a husk of a living being. He couldn’t say human anymore. He was ugly, inside and out. He longed for life, for warmth, comfort, yet every time it faced him, he ran away. God put him on this Earth to suffer in an endless cycle, yet he couldn’t break his piety to such a cruel deity.
It was something he’d slowly started to accept– the emptiness was a part of his life. If death came to face him, like a fool, he’d fight it, only to realize that victory meant waking up to another day, only after the fact.
Then, an angel descended upon him. It smiled with bright light, with hair as gold as a halo and beamed at him with kind, blue eyes.
“I guess I’ll just ask again,” the angel asked, “Can I paint you sometime?”
Who was he, a mortal man with sins too heavy to weigh, to deny the messenger of God?
It was the first time he ever ‘modeled’ for someone.
He never stopped by Vincent’s room for the specific purpose of sitting in a chair for hours on end (when they did try, it was so unpleasant that Jean almost fainted), but he visited on occasion.
Instead of modeling, Vincent would simply follow Jean around at random times with a sketchbook in hand, capturing moments of life in a still, pencil-drawn image. At the end of the day, when the stars twinkled in through Vincent’s window, Jean was invited in and the two chatted about the scenes the blonde had drawn.
“That’s not me,” Jean would say each time, “That man is too pure to be me.”
And every time, Vincent would shake his head and chuckle. “You should really start being nicer to yourself.” Vincent would then quietly whisper to himself, “Rich, coming from me of all people, but the advice still stands.”
Jean never tried to respond to his extra comments, until one late evening– “Perhaps we both should.”
Vincent’s expression was unreadable as he silently flipped to the next page.
It was the first time someone tried to cook for him. Keyword: tried.
Everyone in the mansion began to notice that the most polar opposites of the mansion had so suddenly gravitated toward each other. Napoleon was surprised when Vincent first appeared at their sparring matches as a regular guest, but now? Why, now he was surprised not to greet him.
Mozart was the most confused, of course. A soldier and a painter? Really, what would they ever want to do with each other? Jean was such a recluse, too. What did Vincent say to him that made him stray from his hideaway room and weapons shop? Theodorus seemed to share this sentiment, trailing behind his older brother like a guard dog.
Still, it didn’t surprise anyone when Vincent wanted to make something for Jean’s birthday.
It did surprise Sebastian that same morning to find the kitchen in shambles. Vincent stood in the middle of it all, a fire blazing inside the oven. Apparently, he had tried to make a batch of macarons.
It took the help of half the mansion to salvage what they could. When Jean was presented with burnt yet somehow undercooked macarons, he just… stared at them.
“How did you know I liked these?” he asked, trying to ignore the smoke coming from the kitchen area.
Vincent’s smile was drenched in embarrassment. “Ah, well, whenever we go to your shop together, I always see you looking at the macarons in the window displays. So, I just assumed you liked them. Glad you do! I would’ve looked silly if not…”
“Thank you.” Jean practically cut him off before he could say anything else. To show his gratitude, he took one from the pan and tossed it in his mouth. Vincent cringed.
The soldier’s eyes burst open with shock. It was so… mushy and crunchy and… How in God’s name could something like this even be created? It was a crime against pastries everywhere.
“Sorry,” Vincent mumbled, “I’m not really a sweet’s fan, so…”
That was all it took to convince Jean to push through, swallowing the macaron (could you even call it that?) with much strain.
“Don’t be. It’s the thought that matters,” Jean said, taking the tray from Vincent. “I… I’ll cherish this forever.”
Jean was looking down at the floor shyly, but he swore he saw a pink color grow on Vincent’s cheeks.
Later that night, he found a portrait of himself waiting by his door. In his critical eyes, it was too divine to look anything like him, but the distinctive stroke style made Vincent the clear painter. A note was attached to the bottom, reading:
“Happy birthday! Sorry for the macarons this morning. Maybe after you close your shop tomorrow, we can go to a bakery and get some non-burnt ones! We could bring them home for a tea party, if you’d like!
Also, I think I finally had enough sketches of you to make a painting, so here’s the finished thing! I hope you like it. I’d like to make more, if you’re comfortable with that
– Vincent Van Gogh”
Unfortunately, Jean wasn’t the most literate. He enjoyed the fact that with paintings, written words were unnecessary. It was a walk of shame to bring the note to Mozart so he could read it for him.
It didn’t completely miss him, though, despite his usual density. Vincent wanted to paint him more. An invitation for more time spent together.
When the fact hit him, Mozart had to double-take the smile he saw on his friend’s face.
It was the first time he ever kissed someone.
Now, granted, he didn’t remember that until the next morning’s hangover passed.
Jean was known to be insanely lightweight, so why he was given a glass of wine- no one knows. Unfortunately, his drunkenness often made him very… touchy. So when the mansion had a banquet drawn long into the night, Jean was practically laying on top of Vincent (much to Theo’s ire).
So, Vincent offered to bring Jean back to his room. His strength was only one factor in it, but Jean’s touchy-feely state made it a slight struggle to bring him into the room without losing his balance and being blinded by Jean’s clinginess.
Vincent has an arm wrapped around Jean as they make their way into his empty room. “Jeanie!” Vincent yelped, “I’m trying to put you to bed!” Through his struggle, he was laughing. Drunken Jean thought it was the most adorable thing in the world. It also didn’t help that Vincent was feeling a bit tipsy, too. He couldn’t stop himself from giggling at the absurdity of Jean’s actions even when he was worried for him.
When Vincent finally managed to get Jean into his room without tripping over his feet for a fourth time, he was content to call it a night. Unfortunately, Jean did not. He latched onto his arm and wouldn’t let go.
“Wait,” he whispered in a hoarse voice, “Please stay.”
Vincent couldn’t tell if it was the wine getting to him or not, but something made his cheeks grow red.
It was hard to remember the rest. Vincent tried to coax Jean into bed, but he refused, instead wrapping his arms around Vincent and locking him in an embrace.
It was a stupored dance, rocking back and forth as the painter tried to keep the soldier on his feet and not knock the two of them over. Not that he minded, though. The closeness was… oddly welcome.
“C’mon, Theo is going to worry if I don’t go back soon! I promise we’ll see each other tomorrow!” Vincent said, taking steps towards Jean’s bed.
Jean pulled back against him, his head leaning on Vincent’s chest. “But I want you here now.”
How could the pure angel say no to such a shy request? It’d break poor Jeanie’s heart to force him off!
The swaying continued, Jean moving closer and closer, until…
What was it Arthur said? ‘Drunken words were sober thoughts?’ Did that translate to actions, too?
The mens’ lips met, for just a brief second, but long enough for Vincent’s to turn into a living cherry.
They stared at each other for a moment, lust and liquor made Jean’s gaze cloudy, just as it fogged his mind. Vincent was more aware, but maybe he was hazy, too.
Jean went in again, losing all semblance of balance, leaning all his weight onto Vincent as his knees bent and only the tips of his toes remained dragging on the ground.
If he was a sinner, so be it. He couldn’t take it anymore– the strange pulses of his heart whenever Vincent smiled in the sunlight or told him he was beautiful. He was looked down upon by Heaven’s eye, so what was the point in searching for salvation any longer?
The devil named ethanol overtook Jean, but maybe it claimed Vincent’s heart, too. He didn’t even stumble, catching Jean’s weight and slowly easing into the second kiss. And the fourth. And the seventh.
When the eleventh finished, Vincent suddenly gained consciousness again and forced Jean into bed, running off soon after. Jean was too drunk by then and passed out before he could realize what he’d done.
When day broke the next day, Jean was alone in his bed. No memory came to him until 10 A.M.
What in God’s name had he done!? What sweet temptation overcame him? He was never drinking again, surely! His heart beat out of his chest with images and sensations flashed by him. With Vincent? He had stooped so low as to share affections with a man!? An innocent one, at that! He couldn’t believe he had even dared to touch the painting angel, tainting him with fault and impurity. God almighty, damnation was all he would receive. He’d turned his back to God thousands of times, but this had to be it. The Holy Spirit would claim him at any moment, banishing him to the pits of hell. Forgiveness was fully out of reach. Why did he have to be revived? He should’ve suffered on that stake, right where he belonged.
Jean locked himself in his room for weeks, only answering when Mozart came to drop off a bottle of Rouge. The pianist would try to speak, only for the door to be slammed in his face. The few glimpses residents did catch of him weren’t all too uplifting, either: Jean, knelt over his bedside with a rosary, muttering the Hail Mary over and over as if he would face judgment at any second. He only left to go to the weapons shop. Jean would avoid Vincent like the plague, or in his case, a harsh blaze.
Vincent didn’t fare much better. He was more shy and nervous around the mansion, his paintings became more chaotic and surreal. He tried to ignore it, push down every bit of emotion that started to rise in his chest, but… the unfinished paintings spoke for themselves. Lilly fields, the brandish of a sword, a fire burning sweetly in a fool’s chest.
Vincent felt his hands shake when he flipped through his sketchbook, only to find the same thoughts circling him. His chest felt like it would explode. He didn’t think anything of it when they first grew close to each other, but things were different now.
It was the first time anyone ever told him that.
“I think I’m in love with you.”
The sword fell from his hands with a loud clatter. Jean was a statue in the middle of the weapons shop while Vincent stood by the door, his hand on the knob.
The store was closed, but Vincent had been gifted a key a while ago. Vincent brightened any room he stepped in with such a radiant light that Jean felt blinded by it. Except… Even with the sunset behind him, illuminating him like an angel, Vincent appeared to him as a normal man.
He was impure, too. He sinned. He felt. Vincent wasn’t a big fan of that last one.
“You’re mistaken, monsieur.” Jean’s words cut like a sword; through the air and through Vincent’s heart. Vincent clutched his chest. “Whatever… this… is, it is not love. Lucifer is tempting us. We must not give in.” Jean picked the blade from the floor and placed it back on the rack, his brows knit. He kept his back turned to Vincent. He couldn’t even stand to look at him anymore. He was trying to resist the call of lust, after all. “There is nothing to love about me. Do not let the devil fool you, Vincent.”
Vincent’s head was filled with new feelings, but he knew this one too well: Hurt. It felt like Jean had just struck him in the heart with no remorse. Jean had always been blunt, a bit cold and dense, but this was cruel! Vincent’s fingers curled in, his fingernails stabbing the palm of his hand.
“Why not?” Vincent demanded. Jean wasn’t used to a harsh tone from the painter. “I-I…” Vincent practically trembled as he tried to force the words out. “Why do you get to decide what I’m feeling?”
Jean swallowed hard. He… He never thought of it like that. God was the only judge, why was he deciding for the painter? He opened his mouth to speak, but Vincent cut him off as he stepped closer.
“I love you, Jean. And, sure, maybe I don’t have the best grasp on feelings yet, but I know I love you.” Vincent’s declaration was made and there was no going back. It was a bit scary, pouring the beatings of his heart in front of Jean, but it had to be done. “You’re not going to convince me I don’t. I’m sorry.”
Jean was… silent. His violet eyes were wide, but there were unreadable emotions going through him. Vincent couldn’t bring himself to gaze at Jean for more than a few seconds. Not yet. He had no idea how the soldier would react. He was always so cynical, so shrouded in mystery, but that only made Vincent want to show him the sun even more.
“Why?” Jean parroted Vincent’s previous question. “What is there to love about me?” His voice cracked. As much as he tried to hide it, tears were being forcibly choked and swallowed to save his pride.
Vincent’s shoulders slowly slumped as the tension melted. Oh, what wasn’t there to admire. “Well… You’re strong.”
No I’m not, his mind argued.
“And you’re very kind. You’re always so thoughtful and thinking of others.”
It can’t be true.
“I can only dream to be as selfless as you, really!”
That was a blatant lie. What kind of game was he pulling? Only then did Jean’s thoughts stray. Vincent would never lie so openly. Was there truth in his words?
“I like spending time with you, too. You’ve always got something fun to say, when you do talk. And I like it when we go places. You keep talking about that field of lilies, so I think we could go there next!”
His mind’s voice couldn’t think up a retort in time.
“And… Well, I said it when we first met, right? You’re beautifully handsome. That’s something to enjoy, too,” Vincent giggled nervously, “Not as much as the other things, though! More of an added bonus.”
Vincent peeled his eyes off the floor to meet with an unseemly sight. Saint Jeanne D’Arc, staring him right in the face, with a hand over his mouth and tears rolling down his cheeks. It was sacrilegious to watch.
“Hey, don’t cry, Jeanie,” Vincent whispered, moving right in front of Jean to wipe his tears with his thumb. His hand lingered on the man’s cheek.
Jean felt as if he couldn’t breathe right away. Love? Nonsense. It wasn’t for him. He wasn’t even supposed to be alive! How could someone so gentle and considerate say all those things about him? This had to be some sort of trick or illusion. A dream, even.
Jean’s fingers intertwined with Vincent’s, not letting the painter’s delicate hands leave his face anytime soon.
He was just waiting to wake up from this dream. Waiting patiently. Waiting… and waiting.
It never came.
When he opened his eyes, Vincent was still there, sky blue eyes lovingly locked on him.
Vincent’s smile was soft. Anything harsher would blind Jean. “We’re vampires, Jean. I think God has bigger things to worry about. Maybe he can let this one slide.”
It was overwhelming to be blanketed in the holy light and Jean’s tears kept falling. This time, with a shy smile on his face.
It happened naturally. The gap between their faces drew shorter and shorter, their bodies fit together perfectly, and Jean’s hands felt comfortable on Vincent’s waist.
It was reserved, at first. Neither had any idea how to navigate a kiss with the other, but it was more natural than Jean had expected. It was… warm. Vincent’s thumb ran his across Jean’s eyepatch. Involuntarily, he drew back. They both used that as a minute to breathe.
Surprisingly, Jean was the one who initiated the second kiss, and this one was much more passionate. Their tongues collided on this one, messily and sloppily. Neither had any clue how to do this, but that was part of the enjoyment. It was slow, sensual, simply taking their time to explore each other.
It wasn’t perfect, but it didn’t have to be. Jean and Vincent backed away from each other entirely content, their foreheads pressing against the other. A dopey grin enveloped the soldier’s red face. He was certain the blonde could hear just how loudly his heart pumped in his chest.
It was the first time he felt so happy.
The days at the mansion were almost tolerable now. When no one was around, a chaste peck on the cheek or forehead would be shared. Usually Vincent was the one to find Jean alone in the library, but occasionally Jean walked by his room and left a kiss on his cheek.
Theo and Mozart noticed how they would disappear together first. Soon enough, everyone else caught on. Most of the mansion went to Arthur and Sebastian for answers, but both refused to tell. Sebastian out of not wanting to admit the amount of intel stored in his Oh no– They Didn’t! journal, and Arthur because he thought it’d be more fun for everyone else to figure it out themselves. Being the detective he was, Vincent sighed in relief when he heard he hadn’t told anyone. These feelings, this relationship… It’s all so new and they needed to take it slow. Being outed so soon would only spell disaster, especially in this century. Besides, Jean was already suffering from the judgmental stares from his little brother across the dinner table.
So, for the meantime, tea parties were kept in lonesome meadows and their most intimate moments were behind locked doors.
It was the first time he had a picnic.
They promised to go to the lily field, when they had the chance. Vincent was captivated the moment he saw a sea of white petals blowing in the wind, glowing under the light of the moon. Jean didn’t interrupt his pause, allowing him to absorb the beauty around him.
A blanket placed under them, a stiff breeze moving Vincent’s blonde curls in such a way that Jean couldn’t tear his eyes away. His head rested on the painter’s thigh while he sketched the field in front of them, grinning as his mind’s eye was put to paper.
He looked down at Jean, breathing softly as he admired him. Vincent chuckled as he ran his fingers through his partner’s navy hair. “This is nice,” he whispered, not wanting to interrupt the still of the night.
The moonlight hit Vincent in such a way that he looked as if he descended from heaven, his features chiseled by God himself. “It is,” Jean responded, closing his eyes to properly enjoy the sensation.
“We’re really lovers, aren’t we?” the blonde vampire asked softly. “It’s hard to imagine it in the mansion, but here… It feels real.” A pause hit Vincent before he continued, a romantic sigh leaving his lips as he took the moment in. “We should go see the sunflowers next.”
Jean’s eyes fluttered open and he watched Vincent attentively. There was a distinct longing in his eyes as he stared over the waves of flowers.
He couldn’t help himself. Jean cupped Vincent’s cheek in his head, bending awkwardly to plant a kiss on his lover’s jaw.
It was the first time he said those three words.
“I love you.”
It was the first time he took his eyepatch off in front of someone.
It had taken a full year for Jean to open up to the idea of taking his eyepatch off in front of Vincent. When they said they were taking it slow, they meant slow. Molasses envied them. They both had a lot of issues within themself, so moving too fast would only cause even more problems. This was far more safe and comfortable, and for them, that mattered more than anything.
It was a planned event. Theodorus wouldn’t be home for a few days on a business trip and Mozart was completely overtaken by a burst of creativity. Melodies filled the air each night, perfect for the inexperienced lovers. The stars had aligned for them to finally have a chance to sleep together and maybe sleep in, if they were lucky.
Sitting on opposite ends of Jean’s mattress, Vincent observed the empty room around him with slight dismay. The many paintings gifted to his lover were the only decorations on the walls. Otherwise, the place looked like a jail cell. At least Vincent's cell had a nice window and some paint stains on the floor. This was a topic for another day, though.
Jean sheepishly cleared his throat. A fabric eyepatch sling was laid across his open palm, extending it out for Vincent to take. He feared if he held it any longer that he’d put it right back on.
Vincent was instantly enamored with Jean’s face. He came to know of Jean’s execution, of how he covered himself so thoroughly to hide the scars that coated him from his feet to his face, but finally being able to see some, the dead skin surrounding his blind eye and the burns that brushed his usually glove-covered hands… He was so beautiful.
Jean was self-conscious under his gaze, actively forcing his left hand not to cover his eye. Fortunately, Vincent reached out and traced the burnt lines of his face before Jean could. His breath hitched, a short quivering running down his shoulder. “Sorry,” Vincent mumbled, now caressing the side of his face. “I just… I should paint you like this sometime. If you’ll let me.” Briefly, Vincent’s eyes wandered to his torso, before gazing back at the head of his lover. He held his cheek so tenderly.
Jean’s bashfulness melted under the tender gaze of the older Van Gogh. He took his wrist in his hand and planted delicate kisses against his palm. Vincent giggled coyly. Ah, that sound was more beautiful than any hymns the angels could conjure up. “I’ll think about it, monsieur.” He was thankful the attention to his scars ended there, although slight brushes and kisses against his eye were common as they laid next to each other. Any comments on its state would’ve left Jean a mess of regret and self-hatred. Vincent was careful about that, as Jean was with Vincent’s emotional status. It was an equal trade.
The evening was quiet, lulling the two to sleep easily. At first, they had fallen asleep with their hands locked together, not all too close to each other. Vincent knew just how overwhelming physical affection was for Jean, even after a full year in this relationship. Jean was the one who set the pace when it came to touch. He didn’t mind that.
Apparently, his unconscious state did. Jean awoke in the middle of the night to Vincent’s head tucked against his neck, arms around his waist and his back pressed against the painter’s chest, their fingers still intertwined with each other. His face dug against the pillow under him, hiding the scar from the dark nighttime.
Sometimes, he could feel the eyes of God staring at him, judging him for every sin he’d committed. When that happened, he’d spend several days in the city church, ultimately failing to build up the courage to enter the confessional. He was sin incarnate, no Father could offer repentance for that.
The urge to run overcame him. To be so close to another living being was too much… but the scent of paint and sunflowers granted miracles to Jean. His muscles slowly unwound and he found himself falling into the arms of rest once again. The strong arms around him kept him tied to reality and away from the dark thoughts of his wandering mind.
Every time Jean fell asleep, he dreaded the coming morning. The cycle of a torturous, unwanted, wrongful existence continued.
But with Vincent here… Things were different. A small flicker grew in his heart. If he could make it to tomorrow, he’d get to see Vincent smile. Oh, and perhaps he’d get to spare with Napoleon, and then play with Cherie… then he could… And then...
Suddenly everything felt worth fighting for, if only for a day.
He had taken his eyepatch off, and the world still turned.

Names for the Genderbent Ikevamp Suitors
Tumblr media
Okay, because of a comment from @fang-and-feather on one of my posts, I decided to post a little itty bitty thingy on what I think the suitors’ names would be if they were women. A lot of these were really tricky, but I tried my best!
Napoleon Bonaparte - Nathalie Bonaparte
I was torn between Nathalie or Narcisse, which was right under the name Napoleon on the website I used
I just feel Nathalie was more of a fit than Narcisse
Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart - Whiltierna Amadea Mozart
Holy fuck was this one hard-
Do you know how hard it is to find the female equivalent of the name “Wolfgang”???
So, the name Whiltierna actually means “wolf lord” and I thought it was pretty perfect
And for those of you who thought I was gonna do his full name, the answer is no and never
I’d have to go into naming history and look up names for each of his middle names, trying to get similar sounding names and similar meanings
It would just be a whole thing, okay???
Leonardo da Vinci - Leona da Vinci
Pretty straightforward
Same meaning, practically sounds the same
And for those of you who were wondering about his full last name, da Vinci’s full last name just means “son of Piero from Vinci”
And the genderbent equivalent of that would just be “daughter of Piero from Vinci”
And I’m too lazy for that so you get what you get!
Arthur Conan Doyle - Arthea Coralynne Doyle
And I thought Mozart was a hard one-
Many of the female versions of the name “Arthur” were just that name but with feminine suffixes
And then my brain was like “Wait, you’ve heard the name Arthea before. It’s pretty, but is it real?”
And, lo and behold, it is real-
And to think I was about to use Arielle
BUT DO NOT GET BE STARTED ON THIS BITCH’S MIDDLE NAME!!!
I couldn’t find a name with a similar meaning that sounded good or similar to the original, so I purely went for one that sounded good and similar to the original
And I immediately thought of the name Cora, but it didn’t sound right, so I looked up Coralynne to make sure it was a real name, and it is!
And it means “maiden”
Fitting for the best attention slut in the mansion!
Vincent van Gogh - Victoria van Gogh
Thank fuck this one was easy!
Also, I see woman!Vincent acting like Victoria from Corpse Bride
Soft-spoken and ladylike, but she also stands her ground and speaks her mind when she really needs it
God, I can’t wait to write some genderbent Vincent!!!
Theodorus van Gogh - Theodosia van Gogh
Wow, two easy ones in a row???
But seriously, ever since I thought about the genderbent suitors, I always knew I’d call genderbent Theo “Theodosia”
Not only is it a pretty name but it sounds so similar to the name he has!!
Dazai Osamu/Tsushima Shuuji - Dazai Osama/Tsushima Shuuya
Okay, I’m gonna be real, I did not expect this to be an actual name
But then I remember any Japanese name can be feminine or masculine if you change the suffix or last letter
For example, to make the name “Masaru” a girl’s name you just have to change the suffix so that the name reads “Masami”
Also, yes, I know Dazai’s name is just a pen name, but I’m too lazy to do a genderbend of his actual legal name
Edit: I just randomly decided to genderbend Dazai’s actual name and I came up with Tsushima Shuuya
Isaac Newton - Isadora Newton
I was expecting another hard one from Isaac, but I was surprised when I got names I liked and that would suit him if he was a woman immediately!!!
And I also love the name Isadora
I feel it’s perfect and gives off soft but intelligent vibes for some reason
You know how you can just get certain vibes from names??
Or is it just me???
Jean d’Arc - Jeanne d’Arc
I feel like this is an agreed upon name for genderbent Jean-
And for those of you saying “BuT jOaN iS aLrEaDy HiS gEnDeRbEnT nAmE-”
No, it isn’t, that is his name in history because people mistook him for a woman in the game because he was very young and very pretty!!!
Also, I don’t really like the name Joan, it’s just not very appealing to me and I feel like Jeanne is better suited to him if he was a woman like IRL history states-
William Shakespeare - Whilloe Shakespeare
I wanted a unique way to spell “Willow” okay?
And I was going to use “Whilloe” for Mozart, but I felt it better suited Will honestly
And we can actually still call genderbent Shakespeare “Will” if we wanted to-
Also Willow is the name of my cousin and I didn’t want to associate a dating sim character to someone I’m related to, so-
The unique spelling serves two purposes!
Le Comte de Saint-Germaine/Abel - La Comtesse de Saint-Germaine/Abella
His real name is Abel, right? I’m pretty sure it’s Abel-
Either way, it’s too late now, his genderbent real name is Abella!!!
And she is the prettiest sugar mommy on the block
Right next to genderbent Vlad-
Sebastian/Satou Akihiko - Sebastienne/Satou Akiko
Thank fuck my work husband/real husband’s name was easy-
Also I did not know that Sebastienne was a name!
Either way, it’s really pretty!
And why did I forget about the name Akiko until now??
Oh, yeah, I have a little wormy brain-
Vlad - Vladia
Okay, I headcanon that Vlad just goes by Vlad because his full name, Vladimir, is a mouthful to him and he just prefers the shortened version
And he hates it when people call him by his full name and when his wife calls him by his full name he gets scared because he’s in trouble!
Yeah, same thing with genderbent Vlad, only her full name is Vladimira and only her lover can call her “Mira” as a loving nickname
Johann Georg Faust - Johanna Georgann Faust
That went a lot smoother than I thought it would-
Also, yes, the name Georgann is actually a real name, go look it up
And it means “farmer” like Faust’s original middle name!
Charles-Henri Sanson - Charlotte-Henrietta Sanson
Again, surprisingly quite easy
I almost instantly found a source to help me with this one!
I feel like Charlotte would be a given for a genderbent Charles, but the second part of his given name stumped me a bit until I actually looked it up
And I feel that the name Charlotte is very soft and sweet, so it’s perfect, really!
And Henrietta is also a very beautiful name and compliments the name Charlotte really well, so it was also perfect for this!
For others reading this who’d like to write for the genderbent suitors, you are more than welcome to use these names for writing if you’d like, so long as I’m given credit!

Japan is so crack...
I mean, well, “reincarnation AU” manga allow for weird crack ships to happen
A bunch of historical figures are reincarnated/reborn into modern Japan and this is a WTF romantic comedy between Marie Antoinette who keeps freaking out every time the word “revolution” is mentioned and Che Guevara who is kind of just some dude in this story. Well, they’re probably saving his Sob Story (TM) for later. It’s Totally Very Funny (TM) because Guevara is a Revolution Fighter geddit?
This is so wild... But after Ikevamp and Cinammon the dog and FGO, I give up.
The other people in the story are Picasso, Jeanne d’Arc, and Yang Guifei. There’s an “Alexander” that was mentioned with no surnames, so it might be Alexander the Great.
Anyway, the “Japanese history” representative in this story so far is Yamato Takeru, but I’m beginning to be curious if Nobu’s gonna show up at some point...

Thank you, Mo, for the tag! I feel happy 💜💜💜
1.What was your first impression of the game? Is this the first Cybird game you’ve ever played?
Ikemen Vampire was my first! Initially, I was quite confused, because I know enough about history to get in trouble and hurt myself in confusion, haha. After playing the Prologue, I felt like the writers had taken historical figures and violently blended them with otome tropes. An impression I stand by today for the most part.
2.Who was the character you liked most in the beginning, and is he still your fave?
I liked Jean the most in the beginning. The chance to romance Jeanne d'Arc and Arthur Conan Doyle was what drew me to the game. Nowadays, while I unlocked all of his route and want to get his birthday stories, I'm still searching for like, *the* Jeanne story for me. When I think about her interpretation in IkeVamp, I think about what I'd do differently.
3.How you picked your first route, and whose route was it? Was your favorite suitor available when you first started playing?
See above! I'm quite late to the app, so Jean was available.
4.An unavailable route you’re looking forward to:
Charles! I'm curious where they'll go with his character.
5.A character you thought would be different than how he is:
Can I say all of them? 😂 I thought they would be a lot closer to their historical counterparts.
6. Is there a suitor who you used to dislike, but eventually changed your opinion about?
Mozart and Issac. I felt meh about them and enjoyed their routes a lot more than I thought I would. They're well-written and nicely paced.
7.Do you remember your first story event?
OOF. Uh. It was either the Nightmare one or the Christmas one. I remember futzing around with Comte in Christmas Town and getting declared "fated." And Arthur making a pine tree dick joke.
8.Have you ever spent money on the game? Have you tried the free diamonds offers?
Nope, I'm free to play all the way! I do the "Watch Adverts for Diamonds" thing when I remember. It's nice! With 10 ads a day, they build up quick.
9.Do you have a favorite avatar item? Is it a plushie or maybe a unique hairstyle?
I'm meh on avatars EXCEPT for the pussy hat in Ikemen Revolution. I saw it, I wanted it, and I spent diamonds to get the paywalled story.
10.Have you ever bought merch of your favorite ikevamp character?
No, I don't have merch for Ikemen Vampire. Unless you count some of Dazai's books. I bought The Setting Sun and Schoolgirl after reading his route.
11. Have you ever mistakingly spent your stamina not in the story event?
Yes. 😂
12. What’s the luckiest you’ve ever been when it comes to the gacha? What about your most unlucky memory?
My luckiest? During last year's anniversary gacha, I got Sebastian AND Isaac's 5 star cards in one pull! It was amazing!!! Lately, I've been having really rotten luck. I wish the Trading Post let us purchase useful items like tickets and keys.
13. The slowest you’ve ever completed a route vs the quickest:
I usually keep pace with the daily 5 tickets, so it takes 26 days for me to finish a route. That being said, a second run of Sebastian's route took over a month because I read it while traveling. I was too distracted by the sights to read!
14.Do you use your 5 free chapter tickets daily?
Yep. It's free!
15.A moment in a route that made you cry and a moment in a route that made you laugh:
Routes make me laugh all the time. This morning I laughed because Shakespeare's route revealed that he and MC have matching exhibitionist kinks, hahahaha. I don't think I've cried? I cry more during like, films, than when I'm reading something. I think the most upset I've been is when I tried reading Vincent's route. A lot of the language and his character arc mirror my experience with acephobia. His tormentors use the put-downs I told myself before I realized asexuality is thing. For example, I was "broken" or "a doll" that needed to be forcibly "fixed" by a romantic partner. Real vile stuff. It didn't help that the real Vincent, if he lived today, would likely identify as ace. I stopped reading his route.
16. Who is your favorite pureblood vampire?
Probably Comte or Vlad. I think Vlad has the better constructed story, in my opinion. World-building bogged Comte's route down. I think my biggest quibble with Vlad's route is that I thought there would be more to his plan. We learn nothing new. It doesn't like, make sense. Not even on a piece of paper or have bullet points. He's supposed to be a little bonkers though, and bonkers doesn't bed with reason, so I give it a pass.
17.Do you have a favorite CG? What about a favorite card?
Honestly depends on who I'm reading! Right now that's Billy Shakes, so I'm oogling his birthday card from this year and admiring how his first route CG and Dramatic Ending CG mirror each other.
18.Any famous historical figures you wished were in ikevamp?
WOMEN--uh, let's see: Julie d'Aubigny and Queen Kristina of Sweden spring to mind. I'm most surprised that Alexander Dumas isn't already in the cast.
19.What card is currently on your home screen in the game?
It's Shakespeare all the way 'round! Including his birthday card :D
20.What do you think about the suitors’ pets? Which one is your favorite?
I try not to think about the pets too deeply. If there's a tiger on site...how are the other non-bird animals still alive. Generally, I prefer when the animal connects to the suitor somehow. Like, Napo's eagle hearkens to the French Imperial Eagle standard during Napoleon's wars, or Isaac's hedgehog fits the hedgehog anecdote. I love Mo's story about Bunta!
Thank you again for hosting this questionnaire, Mo! I had fun :D :D :D

Mea Culpa - Vincent x Jean - Ikemen Vampire
-> The entire mansion was invited to a summer gala! Jean and Vincent sneak off for some alone time… Except- Oh no! They didn’t hear the footsteps behind them!!
Tags/Warnings <--> Slight crack, Humorous, Slightly fluffy, Supportive Family, Being Outed, Slight spice (is making out considered spice?), More kissing than I originally planned, Theo loses his mind, "Comte loves all his sons equally" (the mansion knows Jean the favorite- Jean does not), Arthur bullies indiscriminately
Word Count: 3203 (about 6 pages)
A/N <--> I had too much fun writing this. I genuinely don't know how I wrote this so fast. Also I recommend reading https://www.tumblr.com/koco-coko/737240114777948160/when-the-world-exploded-vincent-x-jean?source=share this if you want more context if not that'a fine

A summer night’s gala… What a romantic scene. The heat and humidity of evening air, the faint glow of candlelight, the soft melodies of a piano and violin…
It was a beautiful event, really. A friend of Le Comte’s invited him and the residents of his mansion to celebrate the summer solstice. It was the first summer after Jean and Vincent started their relationship. It wasn’t public, considering the era, but nobody in the mansion knew either. Maybe one day, but Jean was not ready for the amount of teasing comments he’d receive after this. Besides, only Sebastian and Mitsuki came from an ‘accepting’ era… How would the rest feel about something like this?
So, for the gala, Vincent and Jean stayed trapped in their own bubbles. Vincent hung around the food with his brother while Jean was a wallflower by Mozart’s piano. Jean would’ve approached Vincent by now, but unfortunately, the light of an angel attracted many people. Mostly women. All in their nice summer dresses with their fans, all swooning over the innocence and purity of the man before them. Theo seemed to fight them off fairly well by just… being Theo… but Jean felt something rising in him as he watched the crowd, tipsy and carefree, flirting with Vincent so openly. A green-eyed monster in Jean’s heart made his jaw tighten, only made worse by Vincent’s cluelessness and occasional discomfort when a lady in red mentioned the idea of courting him.
Jean tried to stay next to Mozart as long as possible. Except… the people really did love Wolfram, flocking around his piano to listen to his songs more intently. Jean’s discomfort then brought him to linger around Napoleon, but then Napoleon chatted with Isaac, who was being stalked by Dazai, and no way was he going anywhere close to Comte and that bundle of nerve and nobility…
Jean found himself at a loss in the corner. Why did he even agree to come to this place? He really wasn’t the type for fancy events. Even his suit felt stifling, though maybe that was the humidity getting to him. Jean pulled at his collar and wiped his forehead with his arm, scanning the area for any type of escape. The balcony already had lovers on it, enjoying the idyllic starry night. A single glimpse to the upper levels gave him the sight of an older man and woman clinking their glasses together. A young pair behind them was making their way to the balcony, whispering and blushing as they did.
His eyes traveled to a sandy-blonde without any command. The thought of passionate and amorous nights made his thoughts turn to Vincent in mere seconds.
Vincent was rubbing Theo’s shoulder while Arthur laughed about something, when suddenly he caught a glimpse of Jean staring at him. He waved, but his grin faded as he saw the anxious look on his partner’s face. Theodorus was starting to chide Arthur for something, not even realizing his older brother’s hand had left him. Vincent pointed to the open door, the only thing that caught the venue from being too stuffy to handle.
When Jean nodded shyly, Vincent made a beeline outside. Of course, the garden was filled with groups of people as well. The fairy lights and lanterns were just too nice to miss. Wine and lovey-dovey nobles littered the area. When Jean joined his side, that’s when he caught sight of a small place beyond the bushes. None of the fine ladies in their bouncy dresses would want to go through thorny bushes to somewhere so dark and secluded to flirt with their lovers (Well, there were a few unseemly sounds coming from behind the banquet hall… B-But they weren’t going in that direction! Vincent was actively trying to avoid places with sound, anyways…).
There weren’t many lights in the clearing beyond trimmed bushes, leaving Jean and Vincent alone in the dark. Still, by how close they were put together, there was no need for it. Jean grabbed Vincent’s hands and held them to his face, peppering both of his knuckles in kisses before he could even get a word in..
Vincent hadn’t even gotten a word in! He chuckled lightly. “What spurred this on?” Vincent asked, naive to the expression on Jean’s face. He looked desperate and helpless, as if being away from Vincent that long was torture for him.
Jean glanced to the side. “I do not know… I believe envy has claimed me tonight.” How embarrassing it was to admit such a deadly sin to his lover… He’d likely never live it down. “Seeing you with those women, I believe it has stirred something in me. Forgive me, monsieur.” Jean hid his pink face behind Vincent’s hand. They vaguely smelled of oil and lead. From here, Jean could even observe the dried paint behind his lover’s fingernails. It was cute, sort of.
When Jean looked back at Vincent, he had the most romantic expression, his smile almost reaching his ears. “Aw, Jeanie…” Vincent whispered. His hands moved from Jean’s grasp and onto his cheeks, causing the soldier to straighten himself into the proper standing position. “I’m sorry I didn’t realize they were trying to court me,” he said. Unconsciously, his finger rubbed Jean’s eyepatch as he spoke. It had become so natural at this point. “I’m not the best when it comes to that kind of stuff. But next time–”
“I will be there next time. To protect you,” Jean cut him off, although unintentionally. Neither had great social cues, it seemed.
The possessive tone in Jean’s voice made Vincent’s heart flutter quite a bit. He couldn’t tell if he was heated from the summer’s humidity or something else anymore. In all truth, Vincent had a possessive streak in him as well, but he had always pushed his jealous thoughts to the back of his mind. Despite everything, his habit of trying not to feel still had quite the hold on him.
Jean cleared his throat once he realized how long he’d been staring at Vincen’t face. “Apologies,” he mumbled, “That is only if you wish.”
A moment of silence dragged on between them, but the painter’s palms on Jean’s cheeks made him all too aware of the time that elapsed. Seconds felt like hours when he couldn’t hear his lover's sweet and soothing voice.
“I don’t mind,” he started softly, his hands slowly lowering. A distant sadness was behind his sky blue eyes, one Jean had come to learn all too well. His arms wrapped around his lover’s waist on instinct. “It’s just…” Vincent sighed and grimaced as the words struggled to leave his lips. “It’s times like these I wish they’d see us as real lovers.”
Jean’s heart had struck a chord. Vincent could tell from the tightening of his grip.
“It’s not that we aren’t,” Vincent explained, laying his head on Jean’s shoulder comfortably. “I know this–” he placed his hand on Jean’s heart and almost laughed when he felt it suddenly speed up, “–is real. But others are going to say it’s not, and I think that hurts a bit.”
Jean, despite a bit of stiffness, began to rub Vincent’s back as best he could. It wasn’t very soothing, but the gesture was appreciated. “I didn’t believe it either, at first,” Jean responded slowly, picking his words with care and precision, “But I do now. Maybe others just need time like I did.”
“And a lot of persistence,” Vincent teased. He couldn’t help it– not when Jean’s flustered pout was so cute!
Jean and Vincent always had a struggle with words and pinning down their true emotions into tangible sentences. It’s why Vincent had his art to escape to. Jean’s coping mechanisms were a little (a lot) less healthy (fencing his feelings out until he forgot about them), but both were actively trying to get better at this whole thing. A relationship meant communication and communication meant a lot of scary things.
Communication didn’t have to be just words, though. Vincent’s paintings revealed much broader ideas than even he realized, and Jean’s actions were much better at showing his true intent as well. So, with a short smile and one last scan for safety, Jean tightened his grip on Vincent and pushed their lips together.
Vincent loved kissing Jean, and vice-versa. It was much more personal and loving than they could ever voice. Jean, in all his shyness, was surprisingly passionate with every kiss and put his entire heart and soul into every minute of it. It was only exaggerated by his jealousy tonight. He pulled Vincent closer and closer, until their bodies were up against each other completely. He was also a die-hard fan of French kisses (I wonder why). Almost every session like this devolved into those. Not that Vincent was complaining.
Vincent smiled when their lips touched, nothing but accepting the moment. There were so few times they could display their love, and they both barely had any idea how to do that either. But here? For just a minute or so, they could pretend that they were your average, head-over-heels couple, unable to keep down their passions any longer. They could pretend that they didn’t have to hide and completely soak into the other with no pesky inhibitions to get in the way. Vincent wrapped his arms around Jean’s shoulders just as their tongues started to meet, his hand running up his neck and into the lower strands of his slate blue hair.
Oh, it was utter bliss. They could stay like this forever, if time let them.
“I KNEW IT!” A voice yelled beyond the bushes. They ignored it at first. Then, the stomping got closer–
“I TOLD YOU, I KNEW IT!!” Wait, was that Theo’s–!?
The bushes parted with a big swoosh just before the lovers could retreat their faces from the other, revealing Theodorus’s red face and gritted teeth.  “YOU ARE STEALING MY BROTHER FROM–”
His eyes opened wide when he saw the scene before him. It was as if his whole world shattered right then and there. “... me.” Theo’s angry stance fell to one of complete disbelief.
Jean and Vincent… like two peas in a pod… Jean’s arms around his waist…. Vincent’s on his shoulders… their faces, red and flushed… inches apart…
“Um… Hallo, Broer!” Vincent laughed awkwardly, trying his best to put on a welcoming smile. No point in trying to move away from each other now. It was bound to happen eventually, right? Oh, why’d it have to be Theo? Even Arthur would’ve been better…
Jean, unlike his partner, was as still as stone, staring dumbstruck at Theo with wide eyes rivaling the little brother’s look of shock. He couldn’t even move. It was as if Jean had been completely frozen in time.
“Pal, what in the brother complex are you going on about?” Arthur was quick to join the scene. The partners in crime never seemed far apart, so it was only a natural development. He just had to glimpse at Jean’s tomato-red face once to burst out into laughter, holding onto Theodorus’s shoulder for support. Thankfully, Arthur was pointing at Theo and not the two currently in a tense embrace.
Suddenly, Jean shoved Vincent off of him. Vincent didn’t seem all too upset at that, quickly patting down his suit. Actually, he was thankful he did. With Arthur’s bellowing laughter, the real chaos soon began.
Mozart, then Sebastian, then Comte, then William, then Leonardo, then Napoleon– in that order. There were more, but the bushes were too dense for Vincent to see the others through.
“Is there something I should worry about happening here?” Comte asked gently, clearly confused by the combination of residents.
The playboy was doubled-over, clutching his stomach and wiping his face of tears. He could barely look at Theo’s traumatized face without wheezing. “Oh, nothing wrong, dear old dad! Just Theo walking in on his older brother’s love session!” Arthur barely had the breath to force those words out as he fell onto the grass. “Dear Gods, I’m about to piss myself!!” he snorted.
Mozart’s face was utterly disgusted as he tried to avoid the foliage, only to gaze at Jean and Vincent with mild disinterest. “That’s it? Here you had me thinking it was somewhat important. But…” Mozart’s expression softened when he saw Jean’s red face. The soldier still wasn’t completely in reality. Mozart snapped his fingers in front of his face, but it did nothing. “Vincent, huh?” he leaned over to observe the painter currently biting his lip and rubbing the back of his neck. “I did not expect blondes to be your type.”
“He’s not the worst choice in the mansion,” Napoleon added on, smirking broadly. This was currently… amusing. “Though, I thought Jean would be more into you, if anything.”
“I was going to tell you Theo– we were going to tell you all, really!” Vincent desperately tried to control the situation, stepping in front of the flustered Jean. “Just… Not now. But eventually! We didn’t know how everyone would react, and we’re just trying to take it slow and–”
William laughed heartily, approaching his friend with glee written all over him. “Th're is nothing to beest dainty about! i has't did kiss many a sir in mine own lifetimes!”
Vincent blinked and his expression dropped. “What?”
Shakespeare smiled lightly. “Actresses didst not exist  in mine time. Juliet wast just a knave in a dress. Or I, if 't be true nobody else could fill in at rehearsals that day.”
“Oh… I see,” Vincent replied. Will pat his shoulder reassuringly, joined by a slap on the back from Leonardo. Jean and Vincent both recieved one as Leonardo came from behind them. Jean let out a soft ‘oof’ as he caught himself, finally waking from his humiliated trance.
“Welcome to the club, you two,” he said, grinning. “Man, I remember the day… I was almost arrested for something just like this when I was younger!” Leonardo gripped Jean’s shoulder and shook it. “Ah, memories.”
Jean glanced at Vincent, then at Will and Leonardo. “How many residents of the mansion are… like us?”
“More than you think!” Sebastian chimed in, grinning madly as his pen went all over the pages of his notebook. He slammed it closed quickly and hid it behind his back. “But that’s just a hunch. Take Napoleon, for example! He’s likely kissed almost every resident here!”
To that, Napoleon smirked and shrugged. He couldn’t really deny it…
“I can’t believe it,” Comte sighed, a hand over his chest as he gazed fondly at Jean. Jean’s face instantly scrunched up and he turned out. “I never thought I’d see the day Jean found happiness in another!” Comte’s face lit up as he made his way to Jean’s side and wrapped his arms around him for a quick, tight squeeze. “I’m incredibly proud. Maybe one day you’ll even open up to the rest of us.”
Jean looked as if he wanted to crawl out of his own skin. Mozart, Leonardo, and Napoleon all gave each other an exasperated, knowing glance. Comte wasn’t even trying to hide his favoritism anymore.
Vincent sighed, half-relieved and half-worried for the future ahead of them. He caught sight of Theo, still standing there with complete shock. At least, unlike Jean, he was blinking and looking around.
The brothers stared at each other for a bit. It was tense, at least on Vincent’s end. “Broer, I’m sorry–” Before Vincent could finish, Theo had closed the gap between them and embraced his older brother tightly.
“Why didn’t you tell me?” he whispered shyly, just as Vincent’s arms made their way around his younger brother. “I wouldn’t judge you for something as simple as this! I could’ve helped you! You didn’t have to hide all by yourself. How long have you had to bear this alone!? A month? A year??”
“Oh, Broer…” Vincent held his brother just as tightly, only moving back so he could pinch his cheek. Theo, although embarrassed, let it happen. “You really are a sweetheart sometimes. And I wasn’t alone, Theo. Jean was there with me!” Vincent looked over at Jean, only recently free from Comte’s smothering. By the look on his face, he was going to wash himself the moment they got home. Theo squinted at Jean. “He’s good to me, Broer. With Jean… I’m really happy with him. I promise.”
Theo’s glare didn’t stop just because of that. Jean met eyes with the little brother. It only added to the soldier’s nerves about such a sudden outing. If looks could kill, Jean was already a goner. Stabbed 29 times, shot 46, and probably a few broken bones.
Theo left Vincent’s arms and examined Jean in excruciating detail, head-to-toe. Once he had been thoroughly checked at all angles, despite Jean’s squirming, Theo leaned in close. Too close for comfort. Jean tried to lean back, only for Theo’s deadly glare and infuriated expression to come closer.
Theo pointed at Vincent. “You even think about breaking his heart, and I will hunt you down until the end of time and cut your dick off. You got that?”
“Broer!” Vincent exclaimed, “Language!”
Jean heeded Theo's warning, nodding his head quickly.
“Oh, old pal,” Arthur said, finally able to stand and dust himself off. He quickly went to his long-time friend and leaned on him. “That look on your face… Whoo, I’m never letting you live that down!”
The night continued on fairly normally, with only a few residents who weren’t present at the scene asking for clarification (Mostly Isaac, considering his era). The residents were surprisingly welcome to the idea, though maybe the whole vampire thing put the small stuff like this into perspective.
Things were a lot different back home, though.
For one, Theo was always giving the death-glare to Jean when he was around. He was checking in on Vincent a lot more often, always making sure his Broer was always happy and satisfied. It was only after a few talks with Arthur and Comte that he started to lay off (Comte and Arthur? Teamed up? It had to be serious).
Arthur and Dazai would often have teasing remarks, to Jean’s displeasure, but it was really only in the first few weeks that they were bad. Isaac nodded to them anytime they said a word, considering they were now fodder for jokes.
Comte was… more than proud, to say the least. If Jean ever mentioned that he wanted to take Vincent to a show, tickets would magically appear on his bedside the next day. Sebastian joined Comte, hiding around the corners near them a lot more often to take notes. This need for information (Comte was more on the: making sure his sons’ were always content side of things) led to a truce about the notebooks between the master and butler.
Despite all the changes, or lack thereof, there was one change that the lovers were the most fond of.
Finally, finally… Vincent could leave a peck on Jean’s cheek anywhere he’d like. Right in front of the dining table, after a sparring match with Napoleon… and nobody would bat an eye.
It was the simple things that meant the world to those two.

Hi !Can I request that IkeVamp Mc is a popular singer on her time.Um..characters are Theo,Arthur,Vincent,Comte & Mozart
Yeah ofc! Thanks for being patient with me! Hope you enjoy.
Theo:
As we all know, Theo may act tough but he's secretly a super soft guy who enjoys the romantic things in life, like art, poetry, and music. He would probably act a bit brash about it, but I think at his core, he would really admire your talent, and would love to hear some of your songs. Good luck getting him to be very honest about just how much he likes them, though.
Mozart:
The musician himself! I feel like most people headcanon Mozart to only like classical music, and to despise any music that doesn't sound as refined as classical, but I beg to differ. I think that he loves music of all kinds, and would love to not only listen to your music, but also to learn more about what music in your time is like! Much like Theo, he's a major tsundere, and wouldn't likely admit to any of this though.
Vincent:
Vincent: sunshine boy is just as kind, angelic, and appreciative as you'd expect him to be. Upon hearing you music for the first time I think he would give you his signature smile and tell you how much he liked it, that it sounded lovely. Painting, or simply sitting with you as you sing, or with a device that allows him to listen to you sing, quickly becomes one of his favorite pastimes.
Arthur:
Arthur is such a flirt and there's just no denying it. Though he undoubtedly loves your music in general, he loves your voice the most, and would probably offer making you "sing in another way bird."
Comte:
THIS MAN! He's my favorite and it probably shows haha. the amount of support you receive from our dear Abel is unparalleled. And it goes without saying that anything that would help you continue living your dream in this time period he would buy. He truly just wants to see you flourish and be happy!
