(The sun is rising higher. I should head back as soon as possible.)
I was hurrying back to the castle with a slight feeling of urgency on the inside, after attending to a house call early in the morning.
(There’s a special meeting later today that involves me, so I mustn't be late.)
(... Huh?)
Suddenly, something caught my attention in the corner of my eye.
Someone was sitting in the shadows of an alley.
(I don’t have time to stop. But what if they’re feeling unwell?)
By the time that thought crossed my mind, my legs had already started instinctively moving in that direction.
Yuno: ! What’s wrong?
I found a man slouched over in a shaded area with his head lowered, looking completely drained of energy.
Worried that he might be seriously unwell, I rushed to his side and called out to him, but he didn't respond.
Yuno: Uh…
I peered into his face, and my breath caught in my throat when our eyes met.
(Huh? — His eyes look like deep and bottomless pits.)
For some reason, I couldn’t take my eyes off them.
The man noticed me kneeling there at a loss for words and blinked slowly…
Black-Haired Man: … Noisy.
(What.)
Black-Haired Man: … ot…
Yuno: … ot…?
(... Oh, is he trying to say “hot”?)
(He must be hiding in the alley to seek shelter from the sun. It’s not very sunny today, though.)
The man wasn’t sweating — his skin was pale, making him look cold instead.
(His complexion looks alright… and the mole near his mouth is rather striking.)
The way he languidly leaned against the wall in the shade had a unique kind of sexiness to it.
Black-Haired Man: …
I did a visual physical assessment of him as an apothecary, and finally noticed his well-sculpted face when I took a closer look at him.
Because we were both seated on the ground, our faces were quite close to each other's.
(I- I should move a little further away. Even if I’m just concerned about him, this might come off as disrespectful.)
Just as I was about to distance myself,
Black-Haired Man: … want to….?
Yuno: Huh?
(... Want to… what…?)
Before I could clarify, he gently lifted my chin with chilly fingers.
My eyes met his through the gaps between his fringe, and I found myself strangely captivated by them.
(Nn…)
He traced his fingers down my neck.
(Why are his fingers so cold?)
A shiver ran down my spine, it was as though my skin was being touched by ice.
The man before me gave a small smile.
Black-Haired Man: You’re sensitive. Does the cold make you feel good?
His low, honeyed voice ticked my eardrums as he whispered into my ear.
Yuno: W-What are you doing all of a sudden…
Snapping out of my enchantment, my cheeks immediately turned bright red.
The man cocked his head while keeping his fingers on my chin.
Black-Haired Man: Am I wrong?
Black-Haired Man: I thought you approached me because you “wanted” something, but I guess I was mistaken… then, why did you approach me?
Yuno: “Why”? I just thought you might be feeling unwell…
Black-Haired Man: Me?
The man looked a little surprised by my response.
Black-Haired Man: I was just going outside for a walk, but the sun was bothering me, so I came into the shade to rest… hm.
(Whoa… h-he came closer.)
I got startled when he drew his face closer, and instinctively leaned back…
Black-Haired Man: You’re warm.
The man muttered with a frown and abruptly withdrew his hand.
(What was that for!?)
Yuno: … I don’t really understand what that was all about, but you don’t seem to be unwell.
Yuno: I’m sorry for bothering you, I’ll get going now.
I hurriedly stood up and left without waiting for his response.
I glanced back from a short distance away and saw that the man was still sitting in the alley.
Perhaps he noticed that I was looking at him, the corners of his mouth lifted slightly.
That gesture was oddly charming, making me shudder.
(I feel like there’s something strange about him.)
The touch of his cold fingers on my skin lingered.
I shook off that thought and took a deep breath before hurrying back to the castle.
— After Yuno left, the man in the alley, Rikka, sighed.
Rikka: She thought I was unwell? She’s too kind-hearted.
Rikka: She could've been dragged into the shadows and had something horrible done to her if I were a bad person.
Rikka casually muttered some disturbing things and suddenly, he noticed something about Yuno when looking in her direction as she left.
Rikka: This atmosphere surrounding her… ahh, I see.
Rikka: So she’s the one.
…
Yuno: *huff*... This is nerve wrecking.
I could hardly calm my nerves in the face of events that are about to change the course of history.
Shigehira: Being nervous won’t change a thing, so just be your usual carefree self.
Yuno: Y-you have a point there.
Yoichi: You look better with a smile. Isn't that what you wanted to say to her, Young Master?
Shigehira: … Don’t put words into my mouth.
All the members of the Shogunate, Rebel Army, and Imperial Court were gathered at the Okura Gosho in Kamakura.
(It’s been three months since the war between the Shogunate and Rebel Army ended.)
(I was worried when the Imperial Court joined the war and turned it into a three-way battle, but…)
After a long fight, the three sides decided to agree on an armistice.
(Today is the day!)
Yoritomo: Alright, let’s get this over and done with.
Yoshitsune: That’s good news. I was getting so bored of waiting, I almost wanted to slice your head off.
Yoritomo: Yoshitsune, if you need someone to teach you how to be more patient, feel free to approach your “big brother”.
Yoshitsune: … Sounds like the man born before me wishes to die before I do.
Akihito: Ahh. The two of you are still as hostile as ever towards each other. Everything alright over there?
(Grudges don’t get resolved overnight… I guess.)
Kurama: Just hurry up and start already. I’m fighting Tamamo today.
Ibuki: Have you forgotten how you blew off the roof of a teahouse in Kamakura ten days ago?
Tamamo: Even though everyone knows who we are now because of the war, I still don't agree with threatening the safety of humans without reason.
Due to Tamamo, Kurama, and Ibuki’s involvement in the battle, their identities as ayakashi became known to the soldiers.
Their stories had also spread throughout town as rumours.
(Of course, there was a lot going on before that happened. The three of them must’ve had their fair share of troubles.)
All this while, the three ayakashi have been doing their best to act as “human” as possible while in public.
Benkei: If all three of them were to have their deals broken in the future, won’t they cause a lot of damage to the town?
Kagetoki: Worrying about a future that we don't know for sure will happen is what only an idle man would do.
(That’s right. Even though the war has ended, it doesn't mean that everything is over.)
(If we achieve true peace, it’s possible that Yoshitsune-sama and Akihito-sama would give up their demonic powers.)
That included Tamamo and myself, as we had accumulated enough powers from ayakashi during the war. But because we needed to balance the Shogunate’s strength with the Rebel Army and Imperial Court, we didn't terminate our contract.
Yasuchika: Instead of worrying about a “Great Yokai War” breaking out, why don’t we take much more important matters into consideration – such as whether these blood-stained hands can truly come together and become friends?
Yoichi • Shigehira: …
Morinaga: — What are your thoughts on this, Yuno? You were involved in those bloody battles as well.
(Me…?)
Yuno: … I think it’s wonderful to have hope for the future, even though it may seem uncertain at this point in time.
Yuno: I learnt during the war that everyone here is bearing the emotional weight given to them by their pasts.
(After watching the consequences of conflicting beliefs during the war, of course I want to be a strength for the Shogunate, but…)
(Along the way, I found myself interested in the way of life.)
Yuno: The battle was a tough fight filled with challenges and grievances…
Yuno: I want everyone whom I respect and admire to be happy.
Everyone’s expressions softened slightly as I conveyed my message to the best of my ability.
Sueharu: — Oh, my goodness. I shall not be insensitive and criticise your wishes.
Yuno: Perhaps I sounded too naive… my apologies.
Nevertheless, I still hoped that there would come a day when everyone could laugh happily together like they used to.
Right when I was imagining that kind of future—
(KYAA!?)
A loud noise rumbled through the air, bursting my thought bubble.
Shigehira: —! What was that!?
The soldiers standing guard outside the meeting hall came rushing in.
Shogunate Soldier: Yoritomo-sama! We will investigate the source at once!
Yoritomo: — I will go too.
Upon hearing Yoritomo-sama’s words, everyone stood up and followed after him at once without another word.
Morinaga: You wait here, Yuno.
Yuno: Ah… no, please let me come with you. I’m worried as well.
(They might need an apothecary if it was a landslide or earthquake.)
…
I hurried to the front of the palace together with everyone else—
Yuno: What is that!?
The ground below us was split open, eerie black smoke billowing out of the cracks and painting the sky in an ominous colour.
Shogunate Soldier: T-This is…
Rebel Soldier: What's happening!?
Yoshitsune: Everyone, stay calm. We’ll split up and investigate the cause of this strange phenomenon.
Yoritomo: At the same time, we’ll evacuate the panicked civilians to safety. Firstly—
Yoritomo-sama and Yoshitsune-sama quickly gave orders to their respective armies.
Akihito: Do you know anything about this, Yasuchika?
Yasuchika: I’ve sent my Shikigami to investigate, this is the first time I've ever seen such a thing.
Yasuchika: From what I see, it seems that the negative energy from the underworld has combined with an unknown element to become something much worse…
(Even Yasuchika-san doesn’t know what this is.)
Tamamo: It smells awful. We should start by looking for where the smell is strongest.
…
With a minimal number of soldiers as guards, everyone went tracing for the source of the smell.
I rode on the back of the horse I was given, following them.
(It’s getting foggy…?)
Shogunate Soldier: Ugh…
Rebel Soldier: … Strange, I feel drowsy all of a sudden…
In my hazy field of vision, I saw the soldiers ahead of me start to waver.
Yuno: Watch out!
The soldiers fell off their horses one after another.
I quickly dismounted my horse and rushed over to check on their condition.
Yoritomo: What’s wrong with them?
Yuno: I’m not sure… from my assessment, they’re just asleep.
Benkei: Oi, even the horses are falling asleep. Be careful!
Everyone immediately jumped off their horses when they heard that.
And then—
Sueharu: Looks like it’s only the fourteen of us who didn't fall asleep.
Kagetoki: This is extremely suspicious. It’s almost as though this was done by someone on purpose.
Yoichi: For the time being, we have no choice but to continue moving forward.
(I don’t know what’s happening right now, but I have a bad feeling about this.)
I anxiously walked through the fog that was so thick, I could barely see my own feet.
After walking for a while, we found ourselves at…
…
Yuno: Is this… the sea?
(The seawater is red. I’ve never seen anything like this before.)
The waves crashing onto the shore were of a rusty red colour that resembled blood, making the hairs on my neck stand on end.
Tamamo, Kurama, and Ibuki changed into their original ayakashi forms and remained vigilant of our surroundings.
Yoshitsune: …! Halt.
(S-something’s there…)
… Something breathing was hiding behind the fog.
The rustling sound of something long and heavy dragging itself on the ground reached my ears.
A dark shadow looming high above us moved noticeably closer…
???: I’ve been waiting for you, mortals.
(Ah…)
— Everyone’s breaths caught in their throats.
Standing before us was a serpent with eight heads.
(It looks like something I’d see in a terrible nightmare.)
Ibuki: … Yamata no Orochi?
Yamata no Orochi: Yes, that was what the humans called me in the ancient times.
(... I’m getting the chills.)
My skin was getting goosebumps not because I was cold, but because of fear.
(Even though I’m used to seeing ayakashi, this one has an overwhelming aura to it. I feel like I’m being crushed.)
Ibuki: This better not be some bad prank.
Ibuki: Even I have never seen the Yamata no Orochi before.
Ibuki: It’s an ancient being that died so long ago, it became a myth.
Yamata no Orochi: That is correct.
Yamata no Orochi: I now belong to neither the realm of the living, nor the realm where the ayakashi dwell.
Yamata no Orochi: I’ve become a messenger from hell.
Yuno: Hell…?
Shigehira: It's said that some of the deceased go to hell. Is that the same “hell”?
Kagetoki: Tamamo, is this serpent telling the truth?
Tamamo: Even for ayakashi, the afterlife is inaccessible.
Tamamo: Where do souls go after death? Living for hundreds of years won’t give you an answer. You’ll never know unless you die.
Kurama: — There’s a way.
(Kurama!?)
A fierce whirlwind of invisible blades sliced through the air and attacked the serpent.
Yamata no Orochi: …
The Yamata no Orochi showed no sign of resistance as its body was cut mercilessly by the blades.
(Did he succeed…?)
But the next moment…
Kurama: …!
Yamata no Orochi: Goodness. The young surely are very hot-blooded.
The severed parts of the Yamata no Orochi’s body reconnected and returned it to its original form.
(You’ve got to be kidding me…)
Yamata no Orochi: Though, doing such things on a whim is a privilege granted to all living beings.
Tamamo: — No matter how ancient of an ayakashi you are, that was some formidable regenerative abilities.
Yamata no Orochi: It’s not that easy to kill something that’s already dead.
Yamata no Orochi: Even if every single one of you here attacks me at once, you’ll still fail.
(How strong is it that all of us attacking together won’t be enough to defeat it…?)
Yoritomo: I understand that we’re unable to defeat you at the present moment.
Yoritomo: So, what’s your purpose in approaching us? I assume it’s not to exchange friendly greetings.
Yoshitsune: If you’re a messenger like you claimed to be, then you must have something to tell us.
Yamata no Orochi: Very well.
The Yamata no Orochi turned its eight heads to face Yoritomo-sama, Yoshitsune-sama, and Akihito-sama.
Yamata no Orochi: Minamoto no Yoritomo, Minamoto no Yoshitsune, and Sutoku - Akihito.
Yamata no Orochi: According to your fates, the three of you should've already been deceased.
Yoritomo • Yoshitsune: …!
Akihito: …
(Their fates… what does that mean?)
Had any one of them lost their lives, the war wouldn't have ended on a peaceful note like it has now.
Yamata no Orochi: All three of you hold powerful positions in the mortal world.
Yamata no Orochi: It was predetermined for the world and its people to fall into chaos after your deaths.
Akihito: Predetermined? You speak as though you have witnessed the future yourself.
Yamata no Orochi: While it’s true that some minor things can be slightly altered by a couple of coincidences…
Yamata no Orochi: Events of such great magnitude that can change the course of the world are predetermined, they’re inevitable.
Those words heavily impacted us.
Yamata no Orochi: The Rebel Army lost their purpose as they mourn the death of Yoshitsune.
Yamata no Orochi: The Kamakura Shogunate, although expected to be the ultimate victors of its time, met its downfall a few years after Yoritomo’s death…
Yamata no Orochi: Although the Imperial Court continued to exist for a long time, their lack of an absolute ruler resulted in them being entirely different from what it is now.
It was a future I didn’t want to believe was possible, and I couldn’t help but feel frightened by the way the Yamata no Orochi said it so matter of factly.
Yamata no Orochi: However, threads of fate intertwined, and you three managed to survive.
Yamata no Orochi: As a result, the tens of thousands of people who would've died due to the ensuing power struggles have been saved.
Yamata no Orochi: And that is why, hell demands the deaths of everyone who was meant to die.
Yuno: Meant to die…?
Kagetoki: — In other words, you’re going to take the lives of Yoritomo-sama and the others, along with the lives of those tens of thousands of civilians?
(Absolutely not! It took us so much effort to avoid the fate of death.)
Yoritomo: Preposterous. Fate is in the hands of man.
Yamata no Orochi: Some aspects of fate cannot be changed no matter what — as someone who has suffered because of that, you should be more than familiar.
Yoritomo: …
Yoshitsune: In that case, who determines these unchangeable fates? If you're only a messenger, then who is your ruler?
Yamata no Orochi: I don’t know. Hell is merely a concept of death, and death has no form.
Yamata no Orochi: Rather, even if it did, humans and ayakashi wouldn't be able to understand it.
Yamata no Orochi: When I awakened from my prolonged slumber in the darkness, I already had this mission engraved into my eight heads.
Yamata no Orochi: I’m nothing more than a lifeless body being controlled like a puppet.
(If this is true, then what can we do to stop it from happening?)
(How are we supposed to challenge the concept of death…?)
I clenched my fists tightly, my heart filling with hopelessness.
Yamata no Orochi: However… I was instructed by hell to put the humans through a series of trials before taking their lives.
Yasuchika: Trials? What do you mean…?
Yamata no Orochi: The barrier separating hell from the mortal realm will be lifted, and corpses will start crawling out onto the earth.
Yamata no Orochi: Those corpses being manipulated by hell will bring disaster to mankind.
Yamata no Orochi: If you can successfully defeat them, it’ll be your victory. But if you can't… a predetermined number of lives will be taken.
Akihito: How will we fight against beings that cannot be killed, such as yourself? It sounds to me that we are at a disadvantage.
Yamata no Orochi: I’m an exception. The corpses aren’t immortal.
Yamata no Orochi: Kill them ten times and the bonds tying them to this world will be severed, sending them back to hell.
Yuno: Ten times…
(No matter how strong everyone here is, that just sounds nearly impossible.)
Yamata no Orochi: But then… like death, hell is fair. Therefore, you shall have a new power bestowed upon you.
(Power?)
I saw a long tail moving about in the corner of my eye, and the moment I realised what was about to happen—
(Wha…!?)
My body was already suspended midair.
Shigehira: Yuno-san!
I struggled desperately as the Yamata no Orochi's tail coiled around my body.
Yuno: Let go of me…!
Yamata no Orochi: Behave.
Yuno: Urgh.
The tail tightened around me…
I felt an unexpected burning sensation coming from where my body came into contact with the tail.
Tamamo: — What are you doing!?
(Something's… changed. Right, this is a similar sensation to what I experience when using my fox powers.)
Strands of silver hair danced at the edge of my vision.
(...! My hair! Why is it drawing out my powers without my consent?)
Yamata no Orochi: Don’t come any closer. You don't want this woman to be strangled to death, do you?
Everyone who was about to attack the Yamata no Orochi stopped in their tracks, their faces twisting in fury.
Yoritomo: This woman has nothing to do with any of this. Leave her out of this.
Yamata no Orochi: False — this woman has the most important role, she's at the core of it all.
Yuno: What…
Yamata no Orochi: At first glance, she appears to be an ordinary apothecary.
Yamata no Orochi: However, her presence played a surprisingly large part in creating what looks like a temporary peace.
Yuno: …! That’s not the case at all.
(I just happened to possess these fox powers.)
Yamata no Orochi: You may not be aware of it yourself, but the men here seem to know what I’m talking about.
Everyone: …
Yamata no Orochi: I will make this woman a medium of the realm of the dead.
Yamata no Orochi: By interfering with the connection she has with the nine-tailed fox, and redirecting the flow of her powers…
(This is bad, I can’t subdue them!)
A tremendous amount of my powers surged up from the depths of my body and out of my abdomen.
Yuno: Stay away from me!
Kurama • Tamamo: … ggh.
Ibuki: Tch.
My powers went out of control. Tamamo, Kurama, and Ibuki immediately had their demonic powers taken away.
(Strange… why do my fox powers also work on Tamamo?)
Yamata no Orochi: These powers will remain in my possession for now.
Yamata no Orochi: Like this.
A colourful ball of light hovered in front of the serpent.
(Is that all three of their powers combined?)
Kurama: — Give it back.
Yamata no Orochi: It will never return to its original form again.
Yamata no Orochi: Nine-Tailed Fox, Karasu Tengu, Shuten Dōji — I have created a new type of magical power by combining the powers from the three of you.
Yamata no Orochi: It has the ability to destroy the undead and save the world… let’s call it “Hero’s Power”.
Shigehira: Hero’s Power, huh.
Yoichi: That’s… a pretty extravagant name.
Sueharu: So what? You’re going to be extra generous and bestow each of us a share of that power?
Yamata no Orochi: As much as I’d like to say there can only be one hero… it’s too much for a single human body to handle. Thus, two people will be chosen to possess this power.
Yamata no Orochi: My medium, call upon the names of the two people you wish to bestow this power upon.
(Me!?)
The Yamata no Orochi loosened its tail that had been coiled tightly around me, and I was able to move freely again.
Yamata no Orochi: You brought the Hero’s Power into existence. You should know best which two people are most worthy of possessing it.
Yamata no Orochi: But you must know that great power comes with a price.
Benkei: A price?
Yamata no Orochi: There’s a possibility of the Hero’s Power going out of control and draining the life out of its vessel.
Yuno: … I don’t want anyone to possess something so dangerous.
Yamata no Orochi: Rest assured that you can prevent it from going on a rampage by absorbing it with your fox powers. That is part of your role as a medium.
Yamata no Orochi: It might feel different from what you usually feel when using your fox powers, however.
(What does that mean…?)
Yamata no Orochi: There is a strong bond between the Hero’s Power and the medium.
Yamata no Orochi: If you absorb the powers from someone you’re deeply involved with… you will get a sweet feeling of being intoxicated.
Yamata no Orochi: Now, my medium, it's time for you to make your decision.
The glowing ball of light slowly floated towards me.
I bit my lip and looked at everyone's faces.
(What should I do… countless lives will be lost if I don’t make a decision.)
Encouraged by everyone's silent gazes, I took a step forward and approached the ball of light.
I slowly shut my eyes…
(I can hear the Hero’s Power calling out to me.)
My lips trembled as I opened my mouth to speak.
Yuno: … The names of the two heroes are—

Tamamo - Main Story - Chp 01
Standard Disclaimer: I do this for fun. I don’t, and never would, claim to be proficient at JP. There will be mistakes herein. There will be dialogue I choose to smooth out or change, because it feels choppy just straight translating. There will be the occasional snarky aside and irreverence and just plain summarizing. If you’re looking for 100% pure accuracy, without commentary or localizing, this is not for you. If you don’t mind that…then proceed, and I hope you enjoy! And please, support your local localizer (they make this stuff look easy) and Cybird by playing the games and routes if/when they come to English.
If you are unfamiliar with the story of Ikemen Genjiden, I will direct you to read the excellent prologue summaries posted by @/sakura-samsura here - these are the updated ones that include the introductions of the newer characters as well. You may notice discrepancies between my character's onscreen name, Aya, and what I use in the translations, but given that Yoshino is the 'canon' name and I prefer writing that over 'MC' I will use it in these stories.
Done with all that? Then carry on, and meet our mischievous fox.
Outside the gates of the shogunate’s castle, Yoshino is reminding herself of her goals now: absorb enough magical mojo to fulfill her pact with Tamamo, and open her own apothecary business. With an enthusiastic cheer, she thanks the gathered men and says she looks forward to working with them and offers Yoritomo a respectful bow.
Tamamo, looking on proudly, strokes her head and praises her energetic good cheer. “That’s just like my girl,” he declares, as she awkwardly thanks him.
He brushes it off, thanking her instead for her honest nature with a smile, and she can’t help blushing slightly under his compliments and his hand on her hair.
Shigehira though voices his obvious mistrust of Tamamo, and the two bicker slightly as Tamamo mocks him back, clearly enjoying pushing the prickly man’s buttons.
Yoshino looks on, fretting, and tries to break up the squabble insisting they shouldn’t get off on the wrong foot if they’re all gonna be comrades.
Kagetoki cuts her off though. “Comrade’s a bit far. We’re just agreeing to use each other for our own ends, aren’t we?”
She’s appalled at his mercenary categorization, but Kagetoki insists it’s important to be clear about these sorts of things, leaving her stunned.
At a word from Yoritomo, Morinaga threatens both Shigehira and Kagetoki and they both step back from him, clearly chastized...and she’s left wondering if this bizarre dynamic is what passes for the norm around the shogunate. Morinaga insists they’ll get to know each other better soon enough, no need to sweat the small stuff now, which only sours Shigehira’s mood even further.
“Troublesome man…” Tamamo says at Shigehira’s continued suspicions. “Do you want to know who I am?” His eyes gleam gold, preternatural in the dim night light as he surveys each of them. “I am Tamamo, the Nine-Tailed Fox. Nothing more, nothing less. And I am most pleased to make your acquaintance, humans.”
They all look at him, stunned into silence, as Yoshino thinks that he really didn’t answer ANY question at all.
Shigehira grumbles as much aloud, and Kagetoki agrees. “The only thing we know for sure at this point is he’s a troublemaker.”
Yoritomo muses how the more tails a fox has, the higher its power - and he’s heard that the nine-tailed fox, a kyuubi, is a once-in-an-era being.
“Tamamo’s that big of a deal?!” Yoshino asks, stunned to realize exactly what sort of ayakashi she’s gotten herself tied to - and realizing it’s no wonder he’s got such a dignified air about him if he’s such an illustrious being.
“Feel free to worship me,” Tamamo agrees with a genial smile, to her sputtering protest. “No matter then...give it time, and my greatness will come to you.”
She wonders again at the circumstances that have led to him choosing HER of all people to ally himself with...as Kagetoki points out dryly in the background that currently Tamamo has nowhere near enough power left to assume that anyone would revere him.
The two bicker a little now too, Tamamo bristling slightly at Kagetoki’s implications while Kagetoki tells him the equivalent of ‘put up or shut up’ - that it’s not about what you’d done in the past but what you can still do that matters. “My power will eventually recover,” Tamamo reminds him.
“I certainly hope so, or else that’s a real problem,” Yoritomo interjects, looking around at the people gathered there, exuding the dignified confident air she’d expect of the shogun. “All of you, human or not, I have just one thing to say to you - do your job well.”
Tamamo assures him there’s no cause to worry there, and his self-assured smile only serves to highlight his beauty in the luminous moonlight...as Yoshino looks on, wondering if things will really be as simple as all that.
The next morning finds her and Tamamo invited to a meeting with Yoritomo. She’s trying to hustle Tamamo through the corridors, as he keeps getting distracted and gawking at different decorations and other things, strolling leisurely along as she frets.
He whines as they go about humans misguided priorities, and how looking at the art on the walls in infinitely preferable to going and staring at a bunch of dude’s faces.
She scolds him again, saying they can’t keep Yoritomo waiting - the very idea terrifying her because he seems so stern. Tamamo assures her though they’re too valuable to Yoritomo for him to do anything to them.
“Even so, he could still say something terrible!” she insists, reminding Tamamo that Yoritomo IS the shogun and therefore basically the leader of everything they know. It illustrates the difference between ayakashi and human outlooks, she thinks.
Tamamo finally relents though and admits that it’s obvious Yoritomo has power and influence, if only because it’s illustrated by his rough, samurai-filled war-oriented castle still holding many valuable items of art and craft from all corners of the world.
“It seems the samurai came to great power while I was sleeping in that stone,” he observes. “It’s fascinating to see the changes of the human world, isn’t it Yoshino?”
Finally, they make it to the gathering hall and find all of the shogun’s head retainers gathered there with Yoritomo - Kagetoki, Morinaga, and Shigehira, along with more than a dozen other samurai as well.
“Bold of you to be late to the very first meeting,” Kagetoki snipes, and she wilts under the weight of the stares of all those gathered as she wonders if she dares try for an excuse.
“Yoshino,” Tamamo says in a quiet voice only she can hear. “Just play along, and do as I do.”
Baffled, she watches as Tamamo steps forward and gracefully kneels, bowing his head. She hastens to copy him, as he begins to speak. “Unfamiliar with the place as I was, I found myself lost. I humbly beg your pardon, Lord Yoritomo.”
Yoshino blinks at the abrupt change in Tamamo, and looks around to see all of the samurai appear enraptured by Tamamo’s dazzling smile.
“Of course, of course - please, take a seat,” Yoritomo replies, fake-charming smile plastered firmly on his own face as Tamamo thanks him.
He and Yoshino head towards the last open seats as the samurai speak up, asking Yoritomo who the newcomers are. Yoritomo introduces Tamamo as a man who’s traveled from China and has paused in his journeys to share his knowledge with the shogunate.
Yoshino is startled by the smooth lie Yoritomo offers them, but the samurai all seem reassured that Tamamo’s strange air can be explained away by his foreignness.
“Please forgive me in advance for any rudeness, given that I am not yet familiar with the culture here,” Tamamo demurs, to a chorus of reassurances from the gathered men, and Yoshino notices that - perhaps due to the words of Yoritomo - the vassals all seem to have defaulted to using the most respectful language with Tamamo.
The men exchange more pleasantries and Yoshino is mostly just impressed with the slick improv of both Yoritomo and Tamamo on the spot - the two men bringing to mind to her a fox and a tanuki conversing, two shifty characters acting their parts so well.
“What about the woman, then?” one of the samurai finally asks. “ She doesn’t look like a foreigner at all.”
She’s nervous all over again as the attention shifts her way once more, introducing herself and saying she is usually a healer and now she’s acting as Tamamo’s assistant. They all clearly are still suspicious of her obvious commoner status though, especially in comparison to Tamamo’s elegance, and she’s sweating bullets now…
Only for a sweet scent to tickle her nose as an arm comes around her shoulders and pulls her closer. She realizes it’s the smell of incense that always clings to Tamamo, just as her cheek comes to rest against his firm broad chest. “I fell in love the moment I laid eyes on this woman in Kamakura,” Tamamo proclaims. “So forgive my impertinence in asking for your consideration of her during our brief stay.”
Yoshino’s sputtering to herself, stunned at his wild story - love? At first sight?? - when Tamamo interrupts her thoughts. “Isn’t that right, Yoshino?”
“What? Y-yes,” she stammers in confused agreement.
Tamamo goes on to say he needs some time to get used to living in their country, so please excuse Yoshino’s presence - he would consider it a great personal favor if they treated her kindly as well. The samurai are all so charmed and under Tamamo’s sway they agree immediately...and at Tamamo’s urging she manages to thank them all.
He finally releases her and she marvels all over again to herself at how easily he pulls one over on people, and how quickly he has them eating out of his hand - so well, in fact, it’s almost scary.
With that, Yoritomo gets the meeting underway and she sits back to listen to the reports and discussion, before Tamamo quietly asks her what’s up. She thanks him for his quick intervention when she had faltered. He says no biggie, and fudging things a bit like that won’t hurt anyone since they’re not staying there forever.
Shigehira calls them out for not paying attention and talking, but Tamamo just smiles nonplussed. “Forgive me. I was asking after a word I didn’t understand,” he smoothly lies, and Shigehira clams up sheepishly.
Then, regular business finished, Morinaga segues them to the next far more somber piece of business. “Minamoto no Yoshitsune is alive,” he tells the gathered men grimly. “From this moment on, the shogunate prepares for war.”
The stunning news ripples through the assembled men like wildfire, setting them abuzz with anxiety and apprehension until Kagetoki harshly tells them to be quiet and listen to what Yoritomo has to say. They immediately fall silent, and Yoritomo begins to explain the particulars - how Yoshitsune and his rebels have formed a base at the town of Hiraizumi, how they have been recruiting amongst the disenfranchised to swell their ranks, and that they plan to attack Kamakura.
The mood goes immediately somber.
“It is imperative that I crush this movement, destroy it entirely. To protect what we have created,” Yoritomo tells them all gravely. “Which of you will take up their sword and fight at my side? Are there any among you that will brave the very gates of hell with me?”
“Yes! We will give our all for the shogunate!” the assembled men cry. “For Lord Yoritomo!”
As she watches, the men erupt in a fervor, battlelust written plain on their faces...and she realizes what a unimaginable place she’s found herself in, via circumstances utterly beyond her control. She glances over at Tamamo beside her, the source of all of this -
“I’m getting bored,” he proclaims, stifling a yawn, and she wonders if he’s truly that uninterested in human warfare.
After the meeting she returns to her quarters, exhausted by the morning’s events, and ponders how out of place she feels here in the midst of all these samurai. All of her prior anxieties rise up to nip at her heels again, and just as she’s about to slide into another funk she hears Tamamo’s voice from outside, asking if she is in and if this is a good time.
Confused, she tells him it is and he sweeps in - with a veritable entourage of men and women burdened with trunks.
“Tamamo, who are all these people…?” she asks, baffled.
He smiles and reassures her, as the boxes are opened and their contents removed and lined up - the room overflowing with a bounty of colorful kimonos and accessories in a matter of moments. Seeing her stunned expression, Tamamo grins like a mischievous boy who is quite proud of himself. “Surprised? I called in a clothing merchant.”
“Merchant?” she echoes, as an assembly of men bow before her. “Whatever for?”
The merchants fall all over themselves, obsequious towards Tamamo, as he thanks them for bringing their wares to him - then he turns to take Yoshino’s hand, pulling her smoothly to her feet. She’s caught in his magnetic golden gaze as he draws her nearer…
“Would you like me to undress you, Yoshino?”

My first impressions of Morudoru
First of all, my current progress is Xeno's chapter 1 plus skipping through a few bond (called commu here but I prefer bond) stories.
1. The game's a bit buggy. Well, it is new, I had to download it via a third party app and my wifi is not greatest here, so yeah, it's a bit off-putting but I'll survive. But seriously, I had to restart several times to skip the prologue in the memory because it got stuck.
2. At first glance, it has the same features as Ikemen Prince and Ikemen Villains. You know, bond system with voiced lil' scenes, battle with an unknown opponent, story split after chapter 20 and so on. But there are differences. There's no avatar shop, for example. You can put TWO LIs in your room. There seems to be no epilogue. The ends are named differently (Melty and Passion). The CGs are all over the place. With that, I mean that we don't have the usual chapter 1, mid-route and ending CGs. For example, Xeno has a CG in chapter 1, 6, 13, Melty 21, Melty end and Passion end. Or at least I believe they are all CGs because game tutorial said something about 'still cards'. Well, we will see.
Two suitors! Andy my empty room xD
3. Finally, my CG bug didn't follow me to this game. To clarify, Genjiden, Prince and Villains I have the problem of CGs zooming in way too much and support doesn't help me. Anyway, that's a big, fat plus. I only got one CG so far and looks pretty.
4. On to the boys.
Xeno: Chevalier's personality + Ellis' looks minus the murder lust is a very fitting description xD Since he has a personality that shares a lot with my own, he's kinda relatable. Also, black and purple are my favorite colors. I don't regret choosing him first.
Ivy: He's the mom of the group, ngl. And I found a post here on tumblr, translating the little plot summaries. My hot take is that his overprotectivness could kinda turn yandere? If that's true, man's right up my alley haha. And since I followed a bunch of Ivy users, I unlocked his first two bond stories. That's what we get greeted in the second one already:
Half of his shirt is already unbuttoned??? Gonna google translate my way through it later. And black dress shirts totally aren't my weakness.
Jace: Can't say too much about him. I just know that he's a womanizer who caused trouble for the group, so Eito (their manager) asks Rina (our MC) to fake-date him or something like that. And in typical Cybird manner, our playboy seems to be a playboy because of trauma. Can we please get a playboy who just genuinly likes to sleep around for once?
So yeah, that's all for now. Ivy's definitely creeping up my list.

In short… my blog is just for fun. Funny observations, silly jokes, comparisons and analysis just because I like it. And… to express emotions. Sometimes I write short stories, but nothing major, I make summaries to fill in the gaps in the translations. And since I am reading several games at the time, my posts change from game to game pretty randomly. Again… it's just for fun, mine and everyone else who wants to follow my example. About me is here (in case you wanna know). The meaning of the link colors is here. Currently working on is here. Ally's fan-girl posts here.
I'm not a native speaker of either English or Japanese. I don't know Japanese at all, but I have my own ideas about how this language works, because I started learning Korean, and these languages have some similarities. Based on that, there may most likely be errors in my translations/posts. I use translation app (two actually) and rewrite the text to a readable state. Some phrases are not clear to begin with, and I use my gut feeling and some experience of reading such poorly translated texts that have taught me to see meaning in them. My summaries are always full of my comments and jokes. If you prefer a clean translation, then you definitely won't like it. So… you have every right not to trust my translations. I do them so that others can familiarize themselves with the events and main routes. Not in detail, but in general. I don't have enough knowledge for more.
There are several people who do full translations, and I am very grateful to them for what they do. This is an incredibly difficult job that requires a lot of time and concentration. @/judesmoonbeauty @/kurishiri @/archiveikemen @/dear-mrs-otome @/dark-frosted-heart @/aishangotome @/otomehoneyybearr @/caffedrine @/aquagirl1978 @/mayu-otome @/reccyls @/myusuchaa @/sakura-samsara Most likely, there are even more of them, I just haven't found them yet.

Ikemen Genjiden – Prologue Summary
—The time is the Kamakura period, in the year 1192. Minamoto no Yoshitsune, the younger brother of the Shogun, Minamoto no Yoritomo, who should have been destroyed by his older brother, gained life through the power of an Ayakashi.
On a certain day, you, a pharmacist, got dragged into the battle between Yoritomo and Yoshitsune immediately after helping an injured fox... "Your soul is beautiful. Therefore, I will allow you to join with me."
Somehow, the fox you helped turned out to be a Youko*... Being possessed by him, you escape a crisis with his mysterious powers.
Thanks to this power, you were asked to cooperate with the shogunate led by Yoritomo to fight against the rebel army led by Yoshitsune... "Fox-demoniac*— From this day on you belong to me."
In the war that arises around the Minamoto brothers, you fall into a crazy and vibrant love.
TL Notes: 1.) This is a direct translation of 妖狐 (youko) referring to the foxes in Japanese mythology who are able to bewitch people. 2.) Since the term 狐憑き (kitsunetsuki) can't be translated with a single word, I tried to come up with a word or rather paraphrase that secures the inital meaning. Kitsunetsuki means a person who is possessed by a fox, so I guess fox-demoniac might be an appropriate term.

Hello (◕ᴗ◕✿)
Did you know there's a theory about cybrid putting a character from each of their otomes games, who love the main character in EVERY route?!
For example:
Akihito from ikemen genjiden
Le Comte from ikemen vampire
Ecc. (I'm not so sure about the others games tell me what do you think about 'kay?(◠‿◕)
For Ikemen Prince i firmly believe that Clavis is the one who is romanticly interested in Emma in every route!
I mean he is the one who always help her out to be brave and confess her love to *insert a love interest* and always watch them living their happily ever after (poor boy, he's suffering of the classical: second male lead sindrome😭) , now I haven't played all the route but in Chevalier's he says clearly that he want to steal Emma from him! Yes it might be the fact that Clavis always want to challenge Chev but I honestly don't think it is just that when it's about Emma!
Thanks for your time!
Anon, Rio’s standing right there (´;ω;`) He is THE guy that’s canonically in love with Emma every route.
Jokes aside, I have heard about that theory with le Comte. And I think someone said that once with Clavis a long time ago too. Clavis definitely has been interested in Emma since that day in the prologue because he’s found a new toy to play with. He even states that in his episode 0. Does he actually fall in love with her in every route though? Debatable. He doesn’t really have a presence in some of the routes to actually consider that. It’s been a while since I’ve read it, but I do believe that he does end up falling in love with Emma in Cheva’s route. And he does flirt with her in Jin’s route, even asking her to be his while Jin’s busy with a crowd.

Ikemen Genjiden Part 2 Prologue
(I am not fully fluent in Japanese so if there’s something wrong with my translations, please let me know!)
Prologue
MC: Phew… This is so nerve-wracking.
I was jittery with the knowledge that history was being made right before my eyes.
Shigehira: There’s nothing for you to be nervous about, you know? Just be your normal, carefree self.
MC: W-well, you’re not wrong, but…
Yoichi: A smile suits you better than a frown. That’s what you wanted to say, wasn’t it, little lord?
Shigehira: …Tch, I’ll thank you not to presume that we’re close enough that you can speak for me.
Right now, representatives of the rebel army and the imperial court were gathered at Ookura Palace.
(It’s been three months since the war between the Bakufu and the rebel army ended.)
(I had no idea what would happen when the imperial court joined the battle, turning it into a three-way war…)
After a long, long battle…
The three sides had finally decided to agree to a peace treaty.
(And today should be the day to commemorate it!)
Yoritomo: All right, preparations on my side are finished.
Yoshitsune: Excellent news. I was just about to get tired of waiting and just cut your head off.
Yoritomo: If you need help learning to be more patient, your “onii-chan” is always willing to help, Yoshitsune.
Yoshitsune: …It seems that to match you being born before me, you also wish to die before me.
Akihito: Ahh, you two get along as poorly as ever, but I suppose that’s all right, isn’t it?
(Well, you can’t really expect the past to be washed away so cleanly…)
Kurama: Hurry up and get on with it. I’ve got a duel with Tamamo I need to get to.
Ibuki: Have you already forgotten how you blew the roof off a teahouse at Kamakura just 10 days ago?
Tamamo: Even though there’s an unspoken agreement with everyone about our true forms, that’s still no reason to intimidate humans as you please.
Tamamo, Kurama, and also Ibuki all took very active roles in the war, and so their true nature as ayakashi was revealed to the soldiers.
And rumors had spread widely throughout town as well, though it was still technically all gossip for now.
(Of course, a lot of things occurred as a result of these rumors, and I’m sure that the three of them had a lot to deal with.)
For the time being, Tamamo, Kurama, and Ibuki were still pretending to be normal humans in front of others… or at least, they should have been.
Benkei: If the three of these guys were freed from their bonds, they could just destroy the whole town, couldn’t they?
Kagetoki: Only slackers with too much free time worry about a future that might not even happen.
(That’s right. Even though the war was over, that didn’t mean that everything was neatly taken care of.)
(If peace truly were to come, then perhaps Yoshitsune and Akihito would also end up giving up their powers…)
In the case of Tamamo and I, he had been able to recover enough magical energy during the war.
But in order to maintain the balance of power with the rebel army and the imperial court, we hadn’t broken our bond yet.
Yasuchika: Rather than worrying about an all out ayakashi war,
Yasuchika: You should all be worrying about how to join hands with the people whose blood stains them. I’d say that’s a more pressing issue, wouldn’t you?
Yoichi & Shigehira: ……
Morinaga: MC. As someone who got tangled up in this bloody war, what do you think?
(Me…?)
MC: …I don’t know what the future holds, but I think it’s a wonderful thing that we’ve reached a point where we can think about having hope for what is to come.
With everyone’s attention suddenly directed at me, I chose my words carefully.
MC: Everyone here carries the burdens of the past with them. I’ve seen it demonstrated through the war.
(I’d seen everyone’s beliefs and determination clash. Of course, I wanted to help the Bakufu.)
(But I couldn’t overlook the beliefs and ways of life of the people who had once been my enemies.)
MC: It wasn’t just a terrible war, but also a tragic one. And that’s why…
MC: To everyone here, whom I admire and respect, I hope that you can all be happy.
At my spirited declaration, the expressions of everyone softened just a little.
Sueharu: Well, well. Who could be boorish enough to refuse a heartfelt request like that?
MC: That was probably too presumptuous of me. I’m sorry.
Still, though, I hope that there could be a day when people could simply exchange smiles, regardless of whether they were enemies or allies.
And just as I was imagining that lovely future–
(Aaah!?)
A sudden thunderous roar cut my daydreams short.
Shigehira: …! What was that!?
Some of the soldiers waiting outside of the hall raced in.
Bakufu Soldier: Lord Yoritomo! We shall go to confirm the situation right away!
Yoritomo: I shall go as well.
At Yoritomo’s words, everyone else stood up and prepared to follow him out.
Morinaga: MC, you wait here.
MC: Ah… no! I’m curious about what happened so please let me go as well.
(If it’s a landslide or an earthquake, then people may need medical assistance.)
We all rushed out the gates of the palace–
MC: What is this!?
The ground had split open, and an eerie black mist was rising out of the fissure, staining the sky dark.
Bakufu Soldier: T-this is…
Rebel Soldier: What in the world happened here!?
Yoshitsune: Everyone, calm down. We’ll split up from here to find the source of the anomaly.
Yoritomo: At the same time, people are going to be panicking so we should escort them away. First of all–
Yoritomo and Yoshitsune immediately began directing their respective subordinates.
Akihito: Yasuchika, do you know anything?
Yasuchika: I’ve sent some shikigami out to investigate.
Yasuchika: But, this is the first time I’ve encountered such a strange aura.
Yasuchika: It feels as though miasma from the spirit realm has been mixed with something even thicker that I can’t identify.
(So even Yasuchika doesn’t know what this is.)
Tamamo: It gives off an awful stench. For now, let us search for where the aura is heaviest.
…
Taking only the bare minimum of soldiers with us as guards, we followed the aura to the source.
I was riding along on a borrowed horse.
(When did it get so foggy…?)
Bakufu Soldier: Ugh…
Rebel Soldier: Strange, I suddenly feel so sleepy…
Through the fog, I saw the forms of the soldiers ahead of me suddenly start to sway.
MC: Careful!
The soldiers slipped off their horses and fell to the ground.
I stopped my horse and dismounted to check on them.
Yoritomo: What is it?
MC: I’m not sure… It seems as though they’re just sleeping.
Benkei: Hey, the horses are falling asleep too. Watch out!
At Benkei’s call, everyone dismounted as well.
And then–
Sueharu: So, the only ones that haven’t fallen asleep are the fourteen of us.
Kagetoki: A suspicious development. It feels as though someone planned this.
Yoichi: But it’s not like we have any other choice but to keep going for now.
(I’m not sure what’s going on. But I have a bad feeling about this.)
Uneasily, we pressed onwards through the fog that was so thick that we couldn’t even see where we were going.
After some time, we arrived at…
MC: Is this the ocean…?
(The water is red. I’ve never seen anything like this before.)
The waves that lapped at the shore looked just like blood, and it made the hairs at the back of my neck stand on end.
Tamamo, Kurama, and Ibuki had all returned to their ayakashi forms at some point, and were surveilling the area with sharp eyes.
Yoshitsune: …! Everyone, halt.
(What… is that…?)
Within the mist, something enormous was breathing.
I could hear the sound of something massive and heavy scraping against the ground.
It grew louder and louder, and a dark shadow fell across us…
???: I have been awaiting you, Living Ones.
(Ah…)
No one dared to breathe.
A massive, eight-headed serpent stood before us.
(It’s like something out of a nightmare.)
After some time, Ibuki craned his head back and glared.
Ibuki: …Yamata no Orochi?
Yamata no Orochi: Yes, that is what I had been called in the distant past.
(...It’s cold.)
The goosebumps across my skin weren’t just from a normal chill, but also from sheer terror.
(I thought I had already gotten used to the presence of ayakashi.)
(But just from standing in front of Yamata no Orochi, I feel like it could crush me with its sheer presence alone.)
Ibuki: This isn’t some kind of bad joke, is it?
Ibuki: Even I’ve never come across Yamata no Orochi.
Ibuki: It’s supposed to have died in a time period so long ago that it’s considered a myth rather than history.
Yamata no Orochi: Indeed.
Yamata no Orochi: My current self belongs neither to the world where humans live, nor the realm of the ayakashi.
Yamata no Orochi: I am manifesting here as a messenger of the netherworld.
MC: The netherworld…?
Shigehira: When you say the netherworld, do you mean the realm where the souls of the dead travel to?
Kagetoki: Tamamo, is this snake telling the truth?
Tamamo: The next world after death is sacred to ayakashi. But as for where souls come from, or where they depart to…
Tamamo: I have lived for many centuries, and all I can say is that there is no way to know that without dying yourself.
Kurama: There is a way.
(Kurama!?)
Summoning whirlwinds at his side, Kurama conjured blades of air out of them.
And then he launched them towards Yamata no Orochi.
Yamata no Orochi: …
The blades of air sliced through Yamata no Orochi’s torso without any resistance.
(Did Kurama do it…?)
However, in the next instant…
Kurama: …!
Yamata no Orochi: My, my. The youth are so lively nowadays.
The cross-section of Yamata no Orochi’s torso silently repaired itself, and soon it looked exactly as it did before.
(No way…)
Yamata no Orochi: At any rate, to act in accordance with the urges of one’s blood is the privilege of living beings.
Tamamo: No matter how ancient the ayakashi, regenerative ability of this strength still defies all reason.
Yamata no Orochi: You cannot kill what is already dead. That is all.
Yamata no Orochi: Even if everyone here were to band together against me, it would do nothing at all.
(How powerful is it, to be able to withstand the combined strength of everyone here…?)
Yoritomo: As things stand now, we cannot defeat you. I understand that.
Yoritomo: But you must have a reason to show yourself like this. What is it?
Yoshitsune: You said you were a messenger. So that must mean you have something you want to say to us.
Yamata no Orochi: Listen well.
Its eight heads began to move and twist, turning to face Yoritomo, Yoshitsune, and Akihito in turn.
Yamata no Orochi: Minamoto no Yoritomo, Minamoto no Yoshitsune… and Emperor Sutoku, Akihito.
Yamata no Orochi: As decreed by fate, the three of you are supposed to have met your ends already.
Yoritomo & Yoshitsune: …!
Akihito: ….
(What does it mean by fate…?)
If even one of the three of them were to die,
There would be no chance that the outcome of the war would be as peaceful as it is now.
Yamata no Orochi: All three of you possess the strength to cast your influence upon the world.
Yamata no Orochi: Upon your deaths, the people shall lose their spirits, and the world will fall into unimaginable chaos. This shall certainly come to pass.
Akihito: Will it? You speak as though you have seen the future.
Yamata no Orochi: History is woven together by countless coincidences falling into place. Furthermore…
Yamata no Orochi: Events that could change the course of the world to such a degree are inevitably preordained.
Yamata no Orochi’s words hung heavily over us.
Yamata no Orochi: Mourning the loss of Yoshitsune, the rebel army loses their direction and ceases to exist.
Yamata no Orochi: The Kamakura Shogunate, who should have been the victors, meet their end years later following the death of Yoritomo…
Yamata no Orochi: And the imperial court, although able to endure, lacked a steady ruler, and warps into a form unrecognizable to what it is now.
I didn’t want to believe the future that Yamata no Orochi spoke of, but its proclamation chilled me to the bone.
Yamata no Orochi: But the threads of fate have been entangled, and the three of you yet live.
Yamata no Orochi: And not only that, but the tens of thousands of people who would have perished in the ensuing struggle for power also yet live.
Yamata no Orochi: Therefore, the netherworld seeks only to right the balance of life and death.
MC: To right the balance…?
Kagetoki: In other words, you intend to kill Lord Yoritomo and the others, as well as those tens of thousands of people?
(No! Not after everyone has worked so hard for peace.)
Yoritomo: What nonsense. Fate is something that people take into their own hands.
Yamata no Orochi: There are some destinies that can never be changed. You all, who have lived through the worst of life, should know that better than most.
Yoritomo: …
Yoshitsune: If that is the case, then who decides these unchangeable destinies? You are only a messenger, so who is your master?
Yamata no Orochi: I do not know. The netherworld is itself simply the concept of death. And death has no form.
Yamata no Orochi: Even if it did, it would not be a form that neither humans nor ayakashi could comprehend.
Yamata no Orochi: When I had woken from a long slumber, my duty had already been engraved in my eight minds.
Yamata no Orochi: I am nothing more than a puppeted corpse.
(If that is true, then how do we resist?)
(We can’t fight against the concept of death…)
As despair began to set in my heart, I clasped my hands together tightly.
Yamata no Orochi: However… The will of the netherworld also commands me thus: Before claiming the lives of those who should have passed, put humanity on trial.
Yasuchika: A trial? What do you mean by that?
Yamata no Orochi: The boundaries of the netherworld grow weak. Thin enough for hordes of undead to emerge and force their way into the land of the living.
Yamata no Orochi: Commanded by the will of the netherworld, they will seek to bring destruction upon the living.
Yamata no Orochi: If you can prevent that, then you have passed the trial. If not… then the will of the netherworld will have come to pass.
Akihito: You’ve demonstrated that we cannot fight you. How do you expect us to fight against the undead? This sounds incredibly unfavorable to us.
Yamata no Orochi: I am different. The undead are not undying.
Yamata no Orochi: If you kill one ten times, then the connection that binds them to the world of the living will be severed, and they will return to the netherworld.
MC: Ten times…
(No matter how strong everyone is, a battle like that is too much to handle.)
Yamata no Orochi: The will of the netherworld is as fair as death. Accordingly, you shall be granted with new power.
(Power?)
Out of the corner of my eye, I saw Yamata no Orochi’s tail move. And in that instant–
(Wha–!?)
My body was lifted into the air.
Shigehira: MC!
Wrapped up in Yamata no Orochi’s tail, I struggled desperately.
MC: L-let me go!
Yamata no Orochi: Be still. Wait.
MC: Ugh…
I thought at first that the tail was wrapping around me even tighter,
But a strange heat grew from where it was connected to my body.
Tamamo: What are you doing!?
(What is this? It’s odd… It feels just like when I’m channeling energy from my bond with Tamamo.)
Silver fluttered at the edges of my vision.
(...! My hair changed color! How is it drawing my magic out of me?)
Yamata no Orochi: Everyone, I would not move if I were in your position. I am sure you would not want me to strangle this girl, would you?
Everyone had moved to strike, but their faces twisted at Yamata no Orochi’s words and they did not take another step forward.
Yoritomo: She has nothing to do with the future of death you spoke of. Release her.
Yamata no Orochi: No. She is the center of that fate.
MC: What…?
Yamata no Orochi: At first glance, she is simply an ordinary apothecary.
Yamata no Orochi: Surprisingly, however, she is the one largely responsible for the peace that has fallen over the land.
MC: …! That’s not true!
(It’s only due to coincidence that I was bound to Tamamo and received these abilities.)
Yamata no Orochi: You may not realize it yourself, but everyone else here knows what I mean.
Everyone: ……
Yamata no Orochi: This girl shall become the miko of the netherworld.
Yamata no Orochi: The power of the nine-tailed fox is an interference, so I shall split the flow of the flow of magical energy.
(No, I can’t hold it back!)
A vast amount of power was swelling uncontrollably from deep within my body.
MC: Let me go!
Tamamo & Kurama: …
Ibuki: Tch…
That uncontrollable energy immediately began to drain away Tamamo, Kurama, and Ibuki’s magic as well.
(That’s strange… How is the power I received from Tamamo being turned against him?)
Yamata no Orochi: I will be taking the magical energy you have absorbed.
Yamata no Orochi: And now…
A sphere of light, swirling with an intricate mix of colors, drifted up to eye-level with Yamata no Orochi.
(Is that all their magical energy?)
Kurama: …Give it back.
Yamata no Orochi: Not in its original form.
Yamata no Orochi: A nine-tailed fox, a tengu, and Shuten-Douji. I shall give new form to your three energies, and create a new power from it.
Yamata no Orochi: Power to defeat the living dead, and to save the world… You may call it the Power of the Hero.
Shigehira: Power of the… Hero…
Yoichi: What a grandiose name.
Sueharu: So what? You’re going to grant us all that power?
Yamata no Orochi: There can only be one hero… Is what I would like to say. But this is too much power to grant to a single person. Two of you will be selected.
Yamata no Orochi: My miko, name the two heroes who shall be granted this power.
(Me!?)
The tail that was wrapped around me set me down, and I was free to move again.
Yamata no Orochi: The Power of the Hero was born of your will and your inner strength. You should be able to sense the two most fit to bear it.
Yamata no Orochi: But bear in mind that great power comes at an appropriate price.
Benkei: What price?
Yamata no Orochi: The Power of the Hero may frequently break free of its wielder’s control and drain their life force.
MC: …I don’t want to give anyone that kind of dangerous power.
Yamata no Orochi: Fear not. The outbursts can be contained by using the power of the fox spirit that you already possess. That too is the duty of the miko.
Yamata no Orochi: Though I suppose that it would feel somewhat different than normal.
(What is that supposed to mean?)
Yamata no Orochi: The Power of the Hero working in concert with the miko is very powerful.
Yamata no Orochi: If you were to join together with a partner with whom you shared a deep connection… you may experience a delight so strong it may feel more like torture.
As if to say that it would not listen to any more questions, Yamata no Orochi’s tail slammed into the ground.
Yamata no Orochi: Now, miko. It is time. Choose.
The sphere that glowed with an unearthly light drifted closer to me.
Biting my lip, I looked towards everyone.
(What do I do… If I don’t choose two people, it would be sacrificing so many others.)
With everyone’s gaze acting like a supportive hand pushing me forwards, I lifted my hand towards the sphere of light.
And my eyes slowly drifted shut…
(...Ah, I can hear the voice of the power…)
My voice was hoarse as I spoke.
MC: The two heroes I choose are…

do you play anymore games from cybird? and are any game of them that you might try later on?
I used to play Ikemen Sangoku and I tried to play Midnight Cinderella (but I didn't passed the prologue.
Ikemen Sangoku I played for around 7 months? That being said, I played Masamune's route, Kenshin's, Mitsunari's, Hideyoshi's and Nobunaga's I guess? (I feel that I'm forgetting someone or not… dunno).
But there is one that I'm waiting for them to release in english and that is Ikemen Genjiden (that looks gorgeous, also Tamamo is 👌👌).
I pretend to also get back at Sangoku at some point I guess. But aside from those, I didn't had any other contact with other Cybird's games.
#personal#ask#the shame#maybe I should try to play at least that one that has the Alice Wonderland's theme

Note
Although i don't know what they say since it was japanese, i assume Yasuchika in Ikemen Genjiden stage is such teasingful and likes joking. However i didn't know why Yasuchika work for Yoritomo. Not only Yasuchika, but also Tamamo. Why do they help Yoritomo?
If you're talking about the main story and not the sequel then let me just say, at the very beginning it is implied that the imperial court does in fact is in alliance with the shogunate. However that's just for namesake. Yasuchika helps, supports and listens to nobody but Akihito.
Yoritomo also goes along with him just for namesake. He doesn't entirely trust Yasuchika. The shogunate will be doing well even without Yasuchika help.
As for Tamamo. Keep in mind he's a trickster fox demon. In the past, he has a history of disguising himself as a woman and sleeping with court nobles for fun. He did the same with Akihito dad, but Tamamo left Akihito dad later. Many years after that, Tamamo showed up again as a woman and was playing pranks in the court. That's how he met Yasuchika. Yasuchika fascination for demons and Tamamo's love for humans made them friends. But later, Akihito gave Yasuchika orders to seal Tamamo in the sesseoseki stone (which we see at the start of prologue)
