Headcanons for Darkest Light Verse:

Darkest Light Verse is a verse where Lucid finally gives up and gives in to temptation. Throwing away his dreams and accepting the inevitable “reality”. He consumes the Fruit of Knowledge he has had hidden in a wooden box beneath the cobblestone of his workshop, allowing the root of evil to plant itself into him and take over.

Lucid acquired the Fruit directly from the Tree of Knowledge, secretly stealing it from the Garden. He hoped to study it, understand it, and find a better way to understand Sin and maybe even “cure” those who were considered beyond saving

The Fruit of Knowledge is kept in a specially made box by Lucid and hidden under the cobblestone of his workshop. It whispers and speaks to him, tempting him with promises to give him the answers he seeks and more

As Lucid continues to sneak down to Hell to learn first hand by being among the Sinners, Hellborn and Lucifer, his dreams and beliefs are continuously challenged to the point he begins to lose faith in himself

At some point Lucid is attacked in Hell. He is not spared mercy and greatly injured

Holding onto feeble hope, the angel continues to visit Hell and cling to his fading hopes and dreams

Later during another attack he resorts to protecting himself, either gravely wounding his attacker(s) or even killing them. Horrified, Lucid begins to believe he is no better than the Sinners of Hell

Lucid is eventually found out by Heaven and put on trial. Deemed too reckless and refusing to listen to his pleas for another chance, he is put under house arrest essentially

In the Dreamscape Lucid seeks out Lucifer for help, who only berates him for not heeding his warnings to stay away. Abandoned on his own, the last of Lucid's dreams dies out

Forced to face the reality of his poor choices and knowing he will never be trusted again, Lucid goes to the one voice that still speaks to him: the Fruit of Knowledge

Dark thoughts creep in of his eons of being warned he could become just like Lucifer, that he is potentially as dangerous as him and knows he will never be trusted. His creation is a mistake and Heaven is too “merciful” to put him out of his doomed narrative

Finally he gives up the last of his dreams to accept the dark reality of his creation. He consumes the Fruit of Knowledge, which allows the Root of Evil to implant itself (literally) into his very being and takes over

With the power of a seraphim (and specifically Lucifer) and within the gates of Heaven itself, Dark Lucid strikes out and wreaks havoc upon Heaven. Evil and Sin was hiding in their midsts all along and the forever paradise turns to darkness and destruction

Dark Lucid trades in his bow and light arrows for a spear, in mockery of his brother Michael for spearing not only Lucifer in his fall, but also for spearing him over a hundred years ago while “teaching Lucid a lesson in obedience to the High Councils warnings”

Darkest Light Verse Lucid has been rampant in my brain the last several days. Started stirring after the Harbingers appeared in Unholy Crusade but now he’s demanding I don’t ignore him in favor of my regular Lucid activities.
