Flashback to that one time I very confidently responded to a comment claiming that Darth Vader's father was actually named Darth Plagon, not Darth Vader Senior, by saying that actually, since Darth Vader was also Anakin Skywalker, he was Luke Skywalker's brother, and consequently Darth Vader's father, being also Luke Skywalker's father, would if anything be named Luke Skywalker Senior.
I'm still not sure how come no one called me out on that.
I think Disney should Lauren Faust star wars.
Hear me out: they find a young adult somewhere who never saw star wars, but had plenty of the toys, and made up their own story from there.
Disney then gets them to write a film based on their childhood story which is based only on the toys, and maybe the names of the characters.

since i bet people are going to get to ahsoka and rex before me... thoughts about jango for the meme? or satine, if you'd rather?
lmao you're actually the first person to send anything for the meme at all.
Send Me a Character
Jango
First impression: IIRC the tiny bit of Star Wars that I remember ever watching before I joined the fandom was the Kamino section of AotC, so "wait who's this guy and what's he doing here?" is probably about it. I definitely wouldn't have known why the surname Fett was important.
Impression now: Oh my god you glorious fucking disaster. You have so little actual Unique Ability To Change The Plot in the movies (as far as they're concerned, he could have been swapped out with basically any bounty hunter and the plans could have gone ahead the same), but you are such a lynchpin to so much nonsense and bullshit in the wider galaxy if we bother with Legends. Let me use you.
Favorite moment: There's a very specific comedy to the moment he rolls up his sleeves in front of Obi-Wan while they blatantly lie to each other about everything.
Idea for a story: I have so many but I think the one I really want to write is a longform version of Obi-Wan adopts Jango by accident, A Knight, a Padawan, a Captain… and Boba, or... actually wait no, the one I definitely want to get around to writing at some point is the JangoShmi AU where they met as slaves and Jango is incidentally Anakin's father. Jango doesn't know, Shmi never heard he was Very Important (and free), and nobody realizes Anakin is sort-of royalty until Qui-Gon asks about the father and Shmi tells him.
Unpopular opinion: Oh god. Listen. Galidraan was on him. There was a standoff that the Jedi were ready to turn into a conversation (except Komari), and Jango just started shooting? This didn't need to happen. You fucking disaster.
Favorite relationship: Is there any answer based in canon that I can have other than Boba?
Favorite headcanon: Sex-neutral ace or demi whose taste unfortunately runs towards "women who could kill me."
EDIT: I linked the wrong post for the Jango Shmi thing 😅. Anyway, here's the biodad AU

I find r//eylo every bit as distasteful as the next Anti(tm), but I'm really not into the whole "fuck Kyle Ron, he's an irredeemable shit stain and doesn't deserve to be saved" thing. This is Star Wars, you twerps, you think the guy the narrative has deliberately asked us to compare to Vader is beyond redemption and doesn't deserve it for what he's done? LITERALLY THIS IS THE POINT, NO ONE FUCKING DESERVES REDEMPTION THAT'S KIND OF THE ENTIRE ETHOS BEHIND THE CONCEPT.
Also o saw something about "ohh, Leia as a character deserved better than to have been saddled with this horrible child and made to think there's anything good left in him" and oh my God, OH MY GOD if you can't see the narrative value in a) a mother still loving her child in spite of the horrible things he's done (which, y'know, HAPPENS IRL and lol they get shit on all the time for being bad parents or bad people for the thing their kid did) b) the parallel between Leia having faith in her son and Luke's lack of it in this trilogy vs. Luke having faith in his father and Leia lacking it in the original trilogy....look I don't know what to tell you
Also L M A O, YOU PEOPLE DO REALIZE WHAT HAPPENED TO HER SONS IN LEGENDS CANON RIGHT? One turned to the dark side, one was literally named after Anakin, and THEY BOTH FUCKIN DIED iirc, so like I guess that's more what she deserved apparently and this new canon is oh so much worse
