author note: very upset that isack didn’t get race and almost started crying when they showed him crying. hope everything goes well for him in the next race :(

in her opinion, testing is boring. did she understand what was happening? yes. did she care? not really, isack would tell her everything later anyways.

so, she really didn’t understand why isack begged her to go with him to the track, especially since he’s in the evening. however, y/n was curious as to what her boyfriend did during the wait since she would just stay in the hotel room, so y/n eventually agreed.

once they arrived, isack dropped her off at his drivers room before going to his meeting. y/n hummed and looked around, it was pretty empty, which didn’t surprise her. he had a few exercise equipment and an unfamiliar blanket.

“does he just sleep?” she questioned out loud

isack has always liked to sleep and he can sleep pretty heavily too. y/n still remembered when isack called her saying that he missed a call from helmut marko because he was sleeping. y/n wasn’t sure whether to laugh or panic, but thankfully everything went well when he called back.

when isack’s meeting finished forty-five minutes later, he had been more than happy to leave.

“the bed is calling me” is what he said when asked why he wasn’t complaining about boredom

isack hummed as he opened the door to see that his girlfriend was curled up beneath his girlfriend and had already turned on the tv, ready for testing to start. he sighed in relief before closing the door and climbing into the small bed.

“this is why you wanted me to come, isn’t it?”

“mmh” isack pulled up the blanket and snuggled into her back

does isack like to sleep? of course, but he loves doing it with his girlfriend a whole lot more.

y/n doesn't believe in rumours and she prefers making her own assumptions after meeting the person that has so much gossip attached to them.

which is why she couldn’t understand how people could possible believe that prince hadjar is just as foul-mouthed as king verstappen and prince tsunoda.

when they met at a ball, prince hadjar had been nothing but a complete sweetheart to everyone. his voice would soften when talking to her, he thanked the maids and butlers, such simple things that made her forget how much power he holds. y/n knew then and there that she would court him.

their letters ranged from simple greetings to secret meetups outside of their kingdoms to slowly revealing their feelings for each other.

“come on, y/n. there’s no way he’s not slipped up at least once” jak crossed his arms as they wondered through the decorated palace of the maloney family

“he's an angel! my isack would never do something so foul” he scoffed and rolled his eyes

“i've known him longer than you”

she isn't sure if jak is intentionally trying to rile her up or if his words held proper accuracy. isack has never once raised his voice, or even held a hint of negativity whenever she's with him. jak has been his best friend for years now and out of everyone his words should be more trustworthy, but she isn't sure.

“yet you never introduced me?”

jak shrugged.

“isack has never shown interest in anyone before” his answer was simple and clear, yet y/n still had questions

however, they would remain unheard of as shouting was heard the more they walked.

“ — you're fucked” a familar voice echoed the halls followed by laughter

y/n ignored the smug looked from jak as isack ran his mouth, every two words containing some sort of curse. she was stunned into silence while the other princes tried to control their laughter. since his back was turned, everyone else noticed immediately and eventually couldn't hold themselves back.

“what? it's not that funny” his confused tone snapped her out of it and she hastily started walking closer

“isack”

he turned and she watched as his eyes widened while a large smile broke out.

“y/n!” his eyes practically glowed as he reached for her hand. it didn’t even click that she could have possibly heard him cursing worse than a sailor ever could

“when did you get here?“ his voice lowered every so slightly and his tone completely softened

the boys laughter got louder and one of isack’s eyes twitched. she could tell that he wanted to go off on them, but is restraining himself — for her.

“come on, let’s go see zane” his shoulders relaxed slightly

“yeah, let’s go”

she turned around, his fingers threading with hers as she did so. y/n glanced at the window to see isack throwing up his middle finger and silently cursing out his friends.

“come on” he tugged her down the hallway as his friends yelled teasing comments — jak included

once they turned the corner and found it empty, she kissed him on the cheek. isack flushed.

“what was that for?”

“for being so soft with me”

“i’m not soft” she just grinned before kissing his lips this time

isack may be different when around his friends compared to her, but y/n knows that both versions of him are the real isack. he could be just as foul-mouthed as king verstappen and prince tsunoda, but he could also be soft and caring.

but, his soft and caring side will only be reserved for her.
