i know you mentioned you're too tired to explain, but i gotta know the reason why asgore doesn't cut his hair. i can assume but i HAVE to know for sure...

(I'm sorry I forgot about this 😭)

But basically my thinking is asgore (and toriels) whole thing is not really moving on from what happened and living in the past. His place in new home is likely unchanged from after chara & asriels deaths. And Toriels home isint changed much either but it looks so much more lived in than asgore's does (what with asriels room having different pairs of shoes implying some of the humans stayed there and the general warm homey vibe compared to asgores home being fully grey and dusty, with only his room and kitchen feeling like someone uses them).

I think their both very depressed and that asgore puts on a brave face for his people, but behind closed doors I don't think he's done much to process his grief. And his hair is part of that. I've got this visual in my mind of it getting far too long and him trying to build up the courage to cut it only to be bombarded by memories of chara & asriel trying to braid it but like how he can't bring himself to kill us I don't think he'd be able too cut it himself. Something about hair holding memories or whatever.

I think gerson & undyne would be the only people able to convince him to let them trim it so he doesn't look completely unkempt hair wise but before undyne I think his hair & beard were alot longer and that she was the catalyst for why it's a reasonable length in game.
