Bucky was sitting in the corner where the railing met the building, cross-legged and hunched and of course in the ridiculous moose hoodie plus a quilt around his shoulders. It was the quilt Tony had ordered with vintage Howling Commandos and SSR symbols all over it—score—but the overall effect of Bucky sitting alone and all bundled up like that was just tragic. And adorable. But mostly tragic.

“You look incredibly tragic out here all by yourself like this. Just saying.” Tony decided he wasn’t going to have to holler for help or call one of his suits, so he fully committed to stepping out onto the balcony. It was, as he’d surmised, fucking cold. Maybe less so if one was wrapped in an awesome quilt and a ridiculous moose hoodie, but still. Tony tightly folded his arms, wishing he’d had the foresight to grab a hoodie himself—or a quilt—instead of just coming out here in his Sisters of Mercy tee-shirt. “Really, you’re like, a lost kitten. A lost kitten with antlers. You do know we can afford light and heat and stuff, right?”

That hc about Neil and Andrew adopting a kid KILLED ME and I would love a follow-up (maybe a part 2??)((maybe even a fic??))(((pretty please?))). Anyways your blog is amazing and ur fantastic ❤️❤️

I’m definitely planning on writing a fic. I haven’t gotten around to it yet, but I will at some point.

In the meantime, here are some facts about Madison (with some stuff that I already mentioned in posts and some that I haven’t posted about yet):

She’s fourteen and has been through a lot of foster homes by the time Andrew and Neil meet her

She attempted to run away from a few of those homes

She’s scrawny from being underfed and wears baggy clothes with long sleeves

She’s got definite anger issues and has been known to get into verbal and physical fights

She’s bi, but doesn’t tell people (yet)

She hates reading and gets really frustrated really abruptly when she has to read a book for class and she’s attempting to get through it

She was one of those kids that came into elementary school with no real background knowledge of letters or anything and really needed extra support at home to help her learn to read, but it wasn’t there

She learned to read, but her reading level got further and further behind what it should be for her grade the older she got and the more she moved around from school to school and foster home to foster home

She likes math better than language arts because there is less reading and less class discussion and answers are more obviously right or wrong

She would like gym class if it weren’t for the change room situation

She already has to try hard enough to get to the change room after her one female teammate (Dan and Matt’s daughter) has left at exy practices and games and it is more difficult during gym

When she isn’t angry enough to be set off, she doesn’t tend to talk

Even though she talks to Andrew and Neil more before they adopt her than she does to Matt who has been her coach for a couple month, she’s still pretty quiet around them at first (especially when she first moves in)

She doesn’t say a word to Aaron or Nicky (or even in front of them) for a long time when they stay with Neil and Andrew for the holidays (and to meet Madison)

Kevin shows up for the holidays a couple days later and she still hasn’t said anything to Aaron or Nicky yet

She doesn’t say anything to Kevin either at first, but she warms up to Kevin before the other two because he tries to connect with her over exy

She’s a striker and her number is 13

She’s very competitive and it really shows in exy, but isn’t as obvious in other things because if she thinks she’ll be left out of something or fail at it then she’ll pretend she couldn’t care less about it

Blood by leveragehunters (Monkeygreen) (complete | 45,682 | T )

In a world where magic is as commonplace as electricity, HYDRA worships a god who craves order through death. They used His blood to create fierce Soldiers then enslaved them by chaining their souls.

The man who was James Barnes is the last Soldier, the rest having been put down after succumbing to the call of the Blood. One night, out of control after a mission, the increasingly unstable Soldier runs into Steve Rogers. Instead of being turned into a red smear on the ground, Steve successfully talks him down. HYDRA decides to keep him. The Soldier’s the last one they’ve got; if Steve can keep him calm he’s going to do it whether he likes it or not.

Like fractious racehorses have companion goats, they hand Steve off to the Soldier as a kind of pet. But studies have shown pets can ease depression, despair and loneliness, lead to an increased sense of safety and well-being, and provide a source of protection and unconditional love. HYDRA really should have reviewed the literature before they decided to give Steve to the Soldier. Especially since, once Steve Rogers is involved, protectiveness can get slightly out of hand.
