          ABSENT-MINDEDNESS WAS ABRUPTLY INTERRUPTED, upon having the fire dragon slayer’s presence around him. Truly, one that cannot be missed, for miscellaneous and overt reasons. Yet, canvas was painted with A BOLT FROM THE BLUE; the words the reverberated cranial walls were the causation. An illustration of identical pigments of fire opal were wide open for a brief moment, as liquid substance molded into a single drop had just surfaced upon virile facade, eventually strolling down the rest of his face. Customary unamusement has EVAPORATED like smoke from a cigar. Respiratory lungs almost betrayed the common act of breathing for a second, before returning back to a STEADY pattern. After all, the ineluctability of it stood there. Words had taken the shape of realization, providing the sentiment of ALEVIATION in his most susceptible flexor. 

          There was ACKNOWLEDGEMENT from Natsu’s behalf, unmistakably. An undeviating way, accompanied with accustomed jovialness. Direct, almost laconic --- LIEU of being roundabout. ( Some things never change ) And consequently, such statement had made its IMPACT, knowing that it came from a place out of genuineness. From a place of the heart. And NO ONE knows the significance that these words have; the importance of them. The ultimate EVALUATION, towards someone who thrives for redemption. Laxus has accomplished enough as a demonstration of his changed personality, but there’s still those contemplations, and past scenarios appearing in his mind that would DISALLOW him from thinking otherwise; they would FORBID him from considering himself a better human being. They were bestowed in his way like OBSTACLES, and it was up to him to surpass them and MOVE FORWARD. A tough task. But giving up wasn’t an option, and never will be. And the current circumstance was the OUTCOME of it. The perfect screenplay orchestrated.

          In the end, characteristics upon his face altered --- softened, if more so. A RARITY was graced in this world, inasmuch as any sentiments of this nature were habitually disregarded. This time he UNVEILED otherwise. He is a human being after all, thus making this insescapable. And to enhance the entirety of his portrait, subtle lips took the formation of an UPWARD CURVE, ( a gentle one, mind you! ) revealing SCARCENESS at excellence. And the scenery wouldn’t be complete sans a deep voice providing companionship, offering continuance.

    Her eyes glistened as she stared down at the strawberry cake she had treated herself to from the bakery earlier that morning. After seeing to all of today duties for the day this was exactly what she had been waiting for. Digging her fork into the what she was expecting to be a soft fluffy baked good her eyebrow began to twitch. The fork had come to a halt atop of the replica. Thus her expression dropping in an instant.

      No. Nobody was going to die here, during this battle. Not on their watch. It had been their initial plan to bring the battle to them, instead of letting their enemies catch them at their location. It would have had the perfect surprise effect and given them an important advantage, however in the end it hadn’t worked out.

             They had been too slow. And now they had to deal with the consequences.

     “No. You’re not. Nobody is.” But for all that, it was undeniably difficult to ignore that the ambush attack had taken them all by surprise and on top of that, slowed them down with first injuries. This wasn’t going to be easy. This wasn’t going to be over quickly. And they sure as hell weren’t going to turn Natsu in.

      He was a Fairy Tail mage, an essential part of their family. And as kitschy as it still always sounded in his mind; being a Fairy Tail mage meant that they all cared for each other and that they would give up one another only over their own dead body and that they were not going to give it up until the very end!

      Out of the corner of his eyes he beheld how Bixlow joined Natsu’s side. He was unable to hear what sort of quick talk they shared but then his best friend shot a quick look at him, he understood and then nodded in agreement. For the moment he was unable to leave his position, having begun to work highly potent defensive spells to save them some valuable time and get set up again. Their enemies weren’t willingly giving them a break. He could sense and hear that they were trying to find a way to their different fighting groups.

      Gritting his teeth he sent another wave of pure magic energy into his spell before letting his greenish blue gaze settle on the fire dragon slayer who was standing a few steps away. “You’re not going to die and they are not going to win. I’ll cover everyone’s back for as long as I can and then join the South side.”

      They needed to keep the confidence. Though, that was something Fairy Tail excelled at as well, now wasn’t it? Never giving up hope. Believing in each other’s strengths. This beginning had been dangerous but it would turn in their favor soon enough.

     “Besides,” and he managed the briefest hint of a lopsided smirk, “I would surely get into trouble with your boyfriend if he knew that, somehow, somebody managed to do you any harm while I was with you, whoever he is. And he needs you as well.” And that despite all of them knowing that Natsu was more than capable to defend himself. It was just the way this worked.

why do you think she didn’t appear until tenro island arc, ya’lls fashion was perfect during tenro, then ya’ll went to hell again, but you improved during gmg so she came back. she won’t show up if you look like SHI-

     He can’t sleep.

     ( not when the nightmares are here; not when they’re plaging him. )

     --- So he doesn’t. It’s as simple as that, really. Why bother trying to rest if your head won’t let you ? Instead, he leaves the camp --- checking up on his guildmates just before ( they’re most likely all asleep ) and wanders off --- in a further part of the forest where the trees’s foliage is less thick, more sparse --- where he can see the sky and its gleaming stars.

It’s not unusual.

               ------ At least, it wasn’t before Natsu arrives.

The Heavenly Body mage blinks in surprise at the newcomer --- he isn’t annoyed, just taken aback. He didn’t take Natsu as the night owl type; but maybit’s not that; maybe he just couldn’t sleep either. 

The offer is also just as unexpected --- but Jellal can’t bring himself to accept it. His shoulders slump, and he looks away from the Fire Dragon Slayer’s eyes.

     “I’d rather not. It’s not because I’ve been cleared that I’m WELCOMED.”
