I am but a basic bitch of nerds, but I have opinions and I WILL share them bc I'm incapable of shutting the fuck up.

Anyway this is a list of fic I think any person who reads fanfiction, is a BNHA fan and likes Izuku Midoriya, should read.

1. Complicated Creation - Elemental

Easily one of the best fics I've ever read. Great world building based on the Ghibli movie Spirited away. We love to see it. The writing and plot are both breath-taking.

It has quirkless Izuku, spirits, dragons, healing and a sprinkle of a classic trope in the MHA fandom, Dadzawa.

2. Hero Class Civil Warfare - RogueDruid

If you have been in the fandom space for at least a couple of months and have been reading fics, you have, 100% heard of RogueDruid. He has, hands down, some of the most captivating work in the whole of the internet. One of the classics, is HCCW. It has inspired a lot of other fics, which had gone the class War route (hmu if u want reccs). Incredibly well done, the EFFORT that went into this had to be astounding. There isn't a single miss.

Without spoiling too much, the class 1 A and 1 B, have a final exam. The exam in this world, is a war between villain and heros. Izuku is put into the position of the leader of the villains, the Kingpin while his rival, the Paragon, is none other than Katsuki Bakugou. We get a mastermind Izuku, characters from 1 B, that I personally never cared much for, before reading this fic and more.

3. Mastermind: Strategist for Hire by Clouds

Staying in the villain Izuku waters, I present Mastermind. A part of a series called For the want of a nail, that follows different universes in which Izuku stays quirkless. Mastermind is a personal favourite. It's the second installment of the series and has an ongoing sequel. (The series includes Viridian: the green guide, Deku? I think he's some pro, Chet Code: support strategist and two more, which aren't completed yet).

Here, Izuku stays quirkless as he loses any hope left for the hero society. He, unfortunately for the world, is stupidly smart and easily gained a fearsome reputation, for being the best strategist for hire for villains. After realizing the world sucks and he, in fact, doesn't, Izuku becomes a villain the likes héroes have never seen before.

4. The Mystery of Student No.18 by cloud_nine_and_three_quarters

Another author, that has me by the scruff of my goddamm neck. Went for my throat every fuckin time. I will name the other fics later but lemme tell you about this one.

It's the second fic in the list, that has Izuku with OFA. This time though, Izuku stayed true to his self-sacrificing roots and got himself into a coma. While in his lovely sleeping beauty-esk state, OFA keeps giving him energy and thus an once of a lifetime opportunity to become a ghost. Yes you heard that right. He becomes a ghost and lightly haunts his class. The fic is golden, funny and just a little bit sad.

The other three fics, just as good as this one are Canary, Why are we here again? and Displacement.

5. Yesterday upon the stair by PitvViperOfDoom

Keeping with the ghost theme, we have the one and only YUTS. Again, world building is of the charts great. A great quirk and awesome themes with unexpected turns and plots. The gist is, Izuku can see ghosts. This story is one of the rare ones where Nana Shimura (my beloved) plays a bigger role than usual. Definitely chdck out the additional parts of the series though at that point it goes slightly into more crack waters but it's still incredible.

6. [Content] by Teobot

Taking a sharp turn into morally grey vigilante route, we get this great first part of an incredible ongoing series. There are two parts done and the wait is always worth it.

7. Assignment: Personality Swap by BelleAmant

First I wanted to recc their vigilante Izuku fic (Vigil, Ante and their vigilante antics) but I must admit, while a classic, it hasn't been as impactful to the fandom as Personality Swap has been. Both with its incredible humor, bit of angst and quirk fuckery the whole series has been nothing but hits.

8. Another form of power by Jade_Tatsu

Veering directly back into villain Izuku, this one was a breath of fresh air. I once got tired of villain Izuku that was either forced to be a villain or was just a vigilante but darker, so I went on a search and found this. The series All for power, is a 4 part ENTIRELY COMPLETED series, about politician villain Izuku. The first part is told mostly through the eyes of Kurogiri and I swear, it's my favorite of the all.

9. How Seven (7) Dead Heroes Stopped Being Bored by ScottishSunshine

Crack inspired, but more All for one focused that Izuku, but still most things happen because of the Midoriya family so it counts. It's good and fun and an interesting read especially of you're fond of Dad for one.

10. Prodigal by writerllofllworlds

And for the end, let's get our hearts crushed just a little.

An angst filled suspected traitor AU. In my humble opinion, very few have ever truly succeeded in writing a traitor AU, nearly as good as this one. I like it in most part because Izuku goes through hell and back, and I just am like that. It's epic.

Was this list an exuse to talk about fics I like? Yes. But do i feel like everyone who like BNHA should read these?

There were many things that the Markov family took as a matter of pride and asking for help had never been something they’d done even in the most dire of situations. Borislav had never really been like the rest of his family, his other brothers, he was… different. It was something his mother had tried to dig out of him by any means necessary but Boris had always held onto that little glimmer of what set him apart from his brothers, even if he hid it from most out of self-preservation, it was still there. When it became quite clear that he wasn’t going to be finding Viktor by any normal means, that the oldest Markov did not want to be found by his brothers, Borislav knew it wasn’t good. That uneasy feeling he got as a child had settled in his stomach in a sickeningly familiar manner and Boris was not too pleased by it. He hadn’t been able to sleep or eat normally since that feeling had sunk deep into his gut, making him anxious to find and stop what he knew had always been inevitable.

A deep gulp of amber liquid burned his throat as the Russian threw back the rest of his drink and eyed the empty glass, debating on whether or not he should get drunk for this little meeting. Alcohol certainly helped distract from that feeling in his gut and he was just about to order another when his gaze found the other and Boris slumped back some in the stool he sat in at the bar, lips pulling over his teeth in a cool and somewhat cocky grin. “Ahh, I’m so glad you could make it, can I get you a drink?” He called out to the other as they neared him, an excuse to order himself another drink as if he needed one to self-medicate. Boris exuded a flirtatious charm, he always had and it rolled off him even now in waves, though, he felt nothing like what he showed, that feeling in his gut spreading a type of dread that wouldn’t go away until he found out what his older brother was truly up to and Boris knew he couldn’t do it alone.

((Hear me out, I do actually have a favourite thing I would love to explore with Curumë. It is something I thought about if I ever decided to use him is an original fiction or a DnD Fanfiction that is removed from the campaign however (mostly because I am too awkward to ask for pernission if i can use their DnD characters in my stories lol). Anyway.

I would love to explore a fully developed redemption or downfall arc. And I would actually love to explore it by throwing in another character acting as a foil for Curumë. Probably a Paladin. Someone very selfless but also determined to match the determination Curumë possesses. In an ideal scenario, they either start out as allies or have at least been allies in the past. Maybe before Paladin became a Paladin they were actually a member of Curumë‘s thief gang. But when Curumë did something ruthless they couldn‘t stand behind it any longer and left and rethought their life, becoming a Paladin instead.

Some things happen, leading to them finding each other again, but now as enemies for some reason. Paladin knows Curumë so Paladin knows that he is not completely evil (he isn't) so he is trying to convince him to stop whatever it is he is up to.

Anyway the entire plot would be a will they wont they as in wll they end up as friends and will curu finally get his redemption, freedom and friends back or will Curu just fuck it up.

Also some stuff for Paladin character developmet but I havent thought about his chracter …

basically milou originates from the abyss ... she was basically created as a weapon and they dumped her into inazuma eons ago for a test run basically lmao

but the thing is when she was put into teyvat, she was basically in her infancy right

makoto basically picked her up and went "i can fix this child"

but then she died ay lmao

ei took over as a mother figure but she aint doing a very good job

and basically tampered with milou's body, kinda similar to scara? just that she didn't really create milou but rather subdued her power bc like ... she was supposed to be a weapon alright

pretty much reverse engineered her and made a factory reset as much as possible so milou could pass as a human

couldn't really hide all of her powers though so ei and yae just went w the pretense of milou being a yokai

and now she's bing chilling, fucking despises the shogun but still works for her

i know i know no one really cares, but like for all the hype Journ.ey to Bethle.hem is getting for their songs and for Milo and the fun campy-ness....can we PLEASE just talk about Joel Sm.allbone as Antipater??

Like, while it sooo wasn't necessary to the plot, it was so gripping to me? IDK I just really attached to his character most because I love the complexity of the role. Trying to be a good son, soldier, and learning to be a future (roman-jewish) ruler whilst keeping in mind the looming beast above them that is the fuckin Roman Empire. What is the line to upholding the legitimacy of his /father's reign, following the orders of a higher order (Rome/God) and what is just plain wrong- like murdering pregnant women and infants in the face of all that? Antipater deals with a lot and I just loved seeing his internal conflict in his song 'In My Blood'.

I truly feel like Mary and Antipater were the only ones actually played as a serious role for obvious reasons and I think were the best actors tbh, but IDK I just really loved these two. They had phenomenal chemistry imo, but that's me because I wanted so badly to see this extended in some form or another and maybe because in so many ways it didn't feel like a christian movie so my brain kept thinking what's the next in the series? What's next for Antipater? Which in of itself is conflicting as a believer because I know what I believe and to feel unsatisfied with it is ....-gestures- anyways that's not what this is about.

I do know I have a TYPE and it is Antipater, but I do think Joel did wonderfully in the role, and he has acted in other movies as well and had his music featured in other movies like Ben Hur (2016). He is a fantastic singer I just loooove his group 'For King and Country'. Go check out THIS music video and tell me its not gripping.

I guess my other thing about this is KNOWING that the writers fully well knew what happened to the actual Antipater, firstborn to Herod, and so to tie this in just WRECKED me emotionally because it unsayingly says that he dies in the end and the resignation just destroyed me. Historically, Antipater is charged & executed for the intended murder of his father Herod. I found this section in Wikipedia and wow

Concerning Antipater's execution following on the heel of Herod's executions a couple of years before of his sons Alexander and Aristobulus, it would be recounted in the compendium Saturnalia (compiled by Macrobius) that Augustus remarked "It is better to be Herod's pig than his son."

So for me knowing all that on top of watching (skimming) the movie just wrecked me for Antipater and his role here. So yeah that's my two cents and love for the character and his storyline in the film. I'd love to write something fictional with a similar tone because I really want to see it explored more.

I don't think I have said it anywhere before on the blog, but I am a non-denominational Christian with very open views to many things, beliefs and concepts. "You can't just expect me to sit back while some other man has his hands all over you," Brody said in a low and almost growled tone, blue eyes fierce as they fixed the other with a glare, his one hand moving out to gesture towards the party just on the other side of the door he'd closed only a few seconds ago. He'd dragged the other away as discreetly as he could while his blood boiled. It was obvious he was angry, not entirely at the other but certainly at the fact he was fucking jealous. He pressed a step closer to them, wanting nothing more than to put his own hands on them, catch their mouth with his in some act of possessive hunger that thrummed through his veins just as strongly as the jealousy someone else got to touch them in public and he couldn't. A heated breath left his parted lips as he dropped his hand back to his side, flexing his fingers before he swept in closer to the other, their scent filling his senses calming him a little. "-- that prick is lucky I didn't break his fucking jaw." He added in a quieter voice than before but no less low. They both were lucky Brody had control of his anger and jealousy this time around or else that other man would have been on the floor, bloodied and broken from Brody's violent jealousy.

Well, shit. It seems that, unbeknownst to the two of them, they both had the same idea. That the Whipser they were looking at wasn't just another Whisper but was instead someone from their past. Someone horrible. And, unlike the one backing away, Whisper was not about to let Mimic get the jump on her.

So she hoisted her Wispon up, primed and ready with a simple plasma bolt. If need be, a Wisp could be loaded into it. But for now, the simplest option could work best for the job. " Who are you. " Less a question and much more a demand.

open to: m/f/anyone plot: Edgar is a prolific & famous thief who has stolen some things from y/m. Finally, after a long game of cat & mouse, y/m has caught Edgar. I was thinking period/historical fantasy vibes but I could go modern too. Always welcome to hmu to plot! connection: leader or second command in the mafia/crime syndicate, royal or prince/princess of a kingdom, someone from a rich family, head of security, idk whatever works~

Edgar grunted and struggled against the guards that hauled him to his feet, his heart raced in his chest and he gasped down a few breaths before his dark gaze found the others. So, they had finally caught him? He couldn’t stop the way his eyes lit with some admiration alongside the mischief that always seemed to surround him. This little game of theirs had lasted quite a while and Edgar would be lying if he said he wasn’t impressed they had finally caught him. No one else had been able to catch the self-proclaimed king of thieves and they did send his pulse lurching more in his chest than anyone else. He was glad it had been them but he certainly wouldn’t have admitted it.

“Well, you’re looking as gorgeous as ever,” he complimented, grin growing wider before he was jostled by the guard on his left and he couldn’t stop the breath of amusement that left his lungs. “–if you wanted to see me so bad, you could have just said so.” He teased further, though his former statement was certainly not a missed opportunity to flirt. The thief was a lot of things and annoyingly-charming was at the top of that list. No matter the situation, no matter what sort of peril awaited him, Edgar could always find the time to flirt. If he could do that then it made things feel less daunting.

Even though he knew he wasn’t getting away any time soon, Ed struggled slightly against the guard on his left again, the one who had shoved him slightly when he’d spoken. The guard grunted as Edgar shoved against him and the action only caused the man to hold on tighter to the thief and Edgar huffed with annoyance before returning his gaze to the other, arching a brow expectantly. Would they punish him directly? Or would they throw him away in some dark room to rot for a while, think over the bad things he’d done before enacting some further punishment? Edgar was amused by the curiosity when he should have been a little more concerned about his well-being.

plotting / possible dynamic idea here: you can literally NOT tell whether barton actually likes this person or not. like, for one, he will show up to unalive them at their house one moment and then he'll be like ' HAHA no i'm just kidding ' then he'll ask if he can make them both food while saying something slightly and oddly sad. but it's also unsettling as hell bevause this is what he chooses to say ' yeah, i didn't know how to contact you and i've been wanting to have you for dinner for FOREVER, so i just decided to show up at your house ' and it's absolutely FLABBERGASTING BECAUSE? WHAT DO YOU EVEN MEAN BY THAT?? and then he proceeds to go on about how good the shepherds pie ( or whatever food it may be ) that your muse made. like ☠️ i feel like this has the potential to be both kind of funny in a bad way and frightening, so now i sort of want to do it now... thus, y'all should hmu if you're interested
