"Hahaha we are corrupted but don't be angry at us :D look, Lithuania gives us 12 points twice" - IT'S BECAUSE LITHUANIA IS A NICE COUNTRY WHO SUPPORTS EVERYBODY, IF IT COULD, IT WOULD HAVE GIVEN 12 POINTS TO EVERY SINGLE PARTICIPANT EXCEPT FOR RUSSIA, WHY ARE YOU SO MEAN TO LITHUANIA FOR NO REASON???
Bruh, imagine giving a country 12 points several times, just for this country making a mocking song where it implies you as corrupted... What's the goal? To make Lithuania stop giving you high scores? To make Sweden look like a jealous country? What did they want to achieve by this, I genuinely don't understand.

I have about 3 years left until I have a masters degree, but I want to work in CRM/my country’s equivalent to we-wanna-build-a-road-here-you-better-save-the-graves for a few years maybe before i possibly go for a phd. As a neurodivergent person who struggles with routines and energy levels I think a lot about how i would manage such a massive full time job. Currently I work part time at a museum that hosts small archaeological digs for kids and adults, and i have been on excavation courses before, so I know how it partially feels like.
My question is; how do archaeologists who work in the field make time and energy for going to the gym, hanging out with friends and cooking etc outside of work? It can be so intense when you work with stuff you love. Any thoughts?
- @academiaautumn
I think the best advice I can give you is that you need to get in contact with someone working this job in your country who can give you a sense of how things work, because every country is going to be a little bit different. If you're in college/university, your professors probably have connections with colleagues or former students that they can put you in contact with.
I haven't done CRM, but I've been in similar situations and heard from friends who have, and I'll be real with you: a lot of the things you're asking about? You just do not do them. But keep in mind this is for US CRM and your mileage (or kilometerage) may vary.
These jobs are location specific, so you have to travel to wherever the excavation is. Usually for a set duration, with the longest being maybe a couple of months. This time frame and travel limits a lot of what you can do. The company employing you will put you up in a motel, but it probably won't have a kitchen. Because of the travel, most of the people you know are probably on the dig with you.
Time and energy... it depends. Check out the notes on this post for different archaeologists talking about what they do in a day. CRM is hard work, which can also translate to less energy for socialization/extracurricular activities than less physical jobs.
I'm a big believer that archaeology is for everyone, but unfortunately that does not mean that all areas of archaeology are accessible across the board. Before committing to this plan, you need to get a very clear understanding of what this work entails and how that interacts with your own needs. If you don't think those are compatible, 3 years out is plenty of time to start coming up with alternatives for after your master's (which I'm sure exist).
I did not go into CRM because of my own brain and body issues. I'm not saying that you can't or shouldn't, I'm saying that CRM is a difficult environment and you should do everything you can to set yourself up for success.
If anyone who does have actual CRM experience wants to add their perspective, that would be great.

Well here's the thing, for me all of these things you listed in your previous response together paint a picture and a pretty questionable one at that.
You're right, maybe I was too quick to blame Sky for the silencing, but there's no doubt it happens, a conscious decision is made in some races not to silence the crowd and in others the opposite. Begs the question why? In Monza last year we could clearly hear the Tifosi, boo and jeer during the national anthem, based on fan videos from the crowd in Silverstone we know the same happened there. So why was it edited in one place and not the other?
The second topic of acknowledging crowd and fan behavior again shows the clear difference in reaction. As I've already said in Austria it was called out by Sky Sports more than any other broadcaster and Formula 1 was quick to react with their "anti-bullying" campaign. However just a few weeks later, in Monza there were plenty of incidents reported that weren't acknowledged publicly by any broadcaster as far as I'm aware of and certainly not Formula 1, despite the campaign they were promoting. Like I said maybe it isn't the fault of Sky Sports exclusively but there is serious manipulation going on and I can't help but notice that it's always veered against Redbull.
As for Broadcaster bias, I think Sky Sports shouldn't be treated the same as for example ViaPlay (a Dutch broadcaster). First and foremost there is a language barrier, a lot more people understand English than Dutch. Second of all, ViaPlay is only broadcast in the Netherlands while Sky Sports is broadcast in several countries not just the UK. Thirdly, access, Sky Sports has access to the drivers, the paddock and more info than any other broadcaster gets. They easily rival F1TV as the official Formula 1 broadcaster, in fact they were treated as such until this year, if you watch videos back on their official youtube channel you would hear Brundle and Croftys commentary.
It is because of the access they have, available in a universally known language and the fact it's shown in multiple countries that they attract a significantly larger audience than the average national broadcaster, not to mention all the clips from their broadcast than show up on tiktok, twitter and so on. That's why even though they have a predominantly British cast they can't be treated as just a "national broadcaster" in a way that would allow them a certain level of bias. They need to be a lot more objective and professional, this ask is already too long but I could list quite a lot of moments where their bias was present against Max as an individual and Redbull as team. Honestly most of the time it crosses the line of being "bias" and becomes just rude, and again I don't see any other driver or team get the same treatment.
OK so I'll try my best to responde in somewhat of an order:
1. The booing from last year in Monza was cut out, too (at least in max Interview and on the podium). I don't want to make it seem as if there wasn't some very trashy and disgusting behaviour around this weekend but it's just not true, that sometimes the boos are blocked and sometimes not to make certain fanbases seem more cordial. I don't think there's an agenda behind that, but more in point 3.
2. I agree, we can not compare certain broadcasters, but I am curious, and that's why I mentioned Sky sports Germany, If it's only a UK thing or if sky sport in general ignores stuff like monza. Was just a thought of mine, no intentions behind that.
3. Now about aknowledgment of toxic fan behaviour. Last year i heard about the situations in Austria and Monza, and i remember the way it was called out online, at least. I can't remember what was said or done about it by Sky sports, so I don't wanna say anything about that, but even in this case I would argue that it might be a general problem of F1 that these instances haven't been treated the same. As far as i understand nothing has been aknowledged in Monza and Silverstone, but not only by Sky Sports uk, right? F1TV and F1 itself didn't responde either to Monza? Not having a campaign after Monza isn't just a Sky Sports UK problem, actions should have been taken by anyone at this point, so I don't see the uk bias here.
And last but Not least:
4. The disrespect towards rb and max... I mean, I hear them praise max a lot and also the team around him, the instance where they kinda called out AD21 or the costcap wasn't really disrespectful IMO, it was at worst shady but obviously my opinion about that differs from yours, so I don't really wanna get into that 😅 are there other drivers and teams that get rude comments? I think yes, i stopped watching Sky sport germany for example, because i can't stand Ralf Schumachers comments on Lewis an the Team, but thats just my personal experience 🤭
So basically, i don't really see the "picture that's being painted" as you said it, but I will say I agree with you on the inconsistency of calling out fan behaviour. I don't see it as UK journalists vs Red Bull and their fans (i also see why you would feel different, so no judgement), i think there's a general lack of enforcement of actions against bad behaviour, which still is a huge problem, don't get me wrong.

Oikawa x F! Reader
Chapter 1
Word count: 1.9k
RANDOM POST:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
You let yourself be held by Matsukawa with Hanamaki's legs thrown over yours.
"Mrs. Darcy ....Mrs. Darcy…. Mrs. Darcy ....Mrs. Darcy," Mr. Darcy says to Lizzie on the T.V screen.
Hanamaki sniffles, "Yo I thought this was gonna be cringey but I'm crying right now."
Matsukawa nods, silent tears rolling down his face. You smile a little and both pat them affectionately.
"Pride and Prejudice, will always be timeless. The book and the movie. I honestly think it's great either way. And Mr. Darcy is just UGH perfect," you say sniffling yourself and resting your head on the pillows.
It's been 1 month since you arrived at Aoba Johsai, and you settled in with Hanamaki and Matsukawa as your "in school friends". You've been hanging out together now, and even more so because of volleyball practice and you being manager.
You got close enough to each other that now you were bundled up with blankets, with Hanamaki laying on you and being held by Matsukawa. Popcorn, chips and candy are laying on the ground everywhere with CD's stacked up on the ground.
"Bro this is actually a good show," Hanamaki says looking up at Matsukawa.
"Yo can you be quiet because I'm trying to process this shit," Matsukawa says and you start laughing.
"Okay okay, the next movie is called…." You say searching through the pile.
"....10 Things I Hate About You!" You say pulling out the CD and sliding off the couch.
"What's this one about?" Hanamaki asks, "Is it like a history one like the one we just watched?"
You scoff, "No, this is totally different. It's a highschool one. I'm not going to explain it because it's confusing so just watch it."
You put the CD in and the TV starts up to play the movie. You walk back to the couch as Matsukawa scoots to make some room.
"Yo, [Name], tell me when the movie's actually starting because Iwa and Oikawa are texting me right now and say they wanna talk," Matsukawa says sliding off the couch.
"You too Makki."
Hanamaki looks at Matsukawa weirdly, "Wait why? I wanna watch the movie."
Matsukawa shrugs his shoulders,"Just come over for a bit, it'll probably be short. You cool with that [Name]?"
You nod. You weren't surprised that Oikawa and Iwaizumi wanted to talk to them. They were friends for a while and what you gathered from their perspective, you sort of ruined their whole dynamic.
Especially Oikawa. The volleyball captain, despite your best efforts to try and communicate with him as manager, he'd make up some random excuse or fakely answers your question with that annoying sarcasm and perfectionism that everyone seemed to buy.
Other than that the man literally glared at you, staring spears into your eyes when you caught him looking. You wish you could talk to him about it but it was made very clearly, he didn't like you "stealing" his friends.
"Wait so you're from?" Matsukawa says at the lunch table.
"I'm from [Country], but my parents moved here in Japan for my 1st year of highschool for business and because they move around a lot I've been staying at my Aunt's. I went to Karasuno for a while, then my parents decided I should enroll here," you say, picking at your lunch.
Matsukawa smiles, "Hey that's pretty cool, our volleyball team is actually having practice with them! Soon I think.... I'm not sure. I can ask Oikawa… wait! He's here!"
Matsukawa and you turn to the tall man, with the brown locks.
"Oikawa! Come sit with me, [Name], and Hanamaki today! You too Iwa!"
The two men came over and now you were sitting between Matsukawa and Hanamaki while facing Oikawa and Iwaizumi.
Oikawa gives an indifferent stare at you for a split second before resuming a happy disposition.
"Who might you be?" He asks.
Your body physically retreats back because he made it seem like he does know you, but wanted to take a stab at you.
What the fuck is his problem, you think.
"It's [Name]. And you're Iwaizumi and Oikawa?"
Iwaizumi nods, before Oikawa cuts him off icily, "Yeah yeah. I guess what I'm asking is what are you doing here at the volleyball table?"
Ok so he DEFINITELY doesn't like you and Iwaizumi seems to sense this because he shoves Oikawa's shoulder.
He pulls Oikawa by his arm and abruptly stands up, "God, I apologize about that. Me and Oikawa are going to sit somewhere else."
And with that you were left with a confused Hanamaki and an equally confused Matsukawa, struggling to comprehend what happened.
You've been meaning to talk to Hanamaki about this, but you decided against it. You shouldn't be meddling in their affairs anyway. They were friends longer and Oikawa was probably just having a bad day. You assured yourself with baseless rumors about how Oikawa was a happy-go-lucky boy who was talented, smart and kind to others. Surely he couldn't be bad?
The stares, condescending smirks, and judgemental stares said otherwise. It was as if he gave everyone special treatment, except you. And you really didn't know why.
Until today, you're gonna eavesdrop on their conversation.
You tug on Hanamaki and motion for him to lean into you. He complied and you whisper in his ear.
"Hey just for fun can I listen to the call? I promise I won't make any sound," you say and beam up at him.
Hanamaki pulls back from your face and laughs, "Sure you're too freaking cute to say no to anyways. Mattsun! Can [Name] listen in? Just for fun?"
You turn to Matsukawa and say, "I promise I won't say anything or make any sounds."
Matsukawa smirks, "I don't really care. It's probably about homework anyways."
You and Hanamaki share a devil-like smile. Something unspoken was between the two of you, and you both concluded that this conversation was most definitely not about homework.
Suddenly a voice picks up on Matsukawa's phone and he puts it on speaker.
"Hey? What do you guys need?" he says, calmly.
Iwaizumi's voice cut through, "Nothing just, Oikawa's a little upset."
Hanamaki jumps in, "Wait why?"
Iwaizumi sighs, "He's not telling me, but I think he's upset that you guys are with [Name] and not hanging out with us. Which is weird because we literally hang out a lot together and this is sort of like a once in a while thing right?"
You slap your hand to your face and Hanamaki buries his face into your shoulder, trying to stifle your laughs.
Matsukawa clears his throat, "Uh yeah? So what do you want us to do? Want us to invite you guys over? My parents aren't home so I don't think they'll mind having you come over."
Oikawa's voice, clear as day rings through the phone.
"Oh so a GIRL is alright at your house?"
Your eyes widen as you share a look with Matsukawa. You were tempted to grab the phone and give the guy a piece of his mind but Hanamaki grabbed your wrist.
"Man, chill. This is one of the only times she can come over. And I didn't think you would care so much about her, when you literally have girlfriends left and right," Matsukawa says, earning an approving look from you.
Iwaizumi talks, "Yeah, I'm pretty sure Oikawa hates her guts because of some of the attention she's getting-
"Am not!"
"-because she's the new manager, new student and she quickly became friends with you two and the team…"
Then Iwaizumi suddenly whispers, "Or Oikawa thinks she's interesting and you know.."
Hanamaki looks at you and you jerk your head to the phone.
"Uh… what do you mean?"
You hear Iwaizumi slap himself in the forehead, "He thinks she's interesting romantically dipshits."
Matsukawa snaps his fingers, "Oh he wants to fuck her?" He looks at you and wiggles his eyebrows.
You furrow your eyebrows and flip him off.
"What no? I mean I guess? I don't know…"
Hanamaki looks at Matsukawa questioningly. And this time, you didn't know what it meant.
Hanamaki barely mouths, "But doesn't he-"
Matsukawa glares at him with a "let's continue this conversation later" look.
"Uh alright Iwaizumi, I'm gonna let you go now… byeeee", He says.
"Wait Mattsun no-".
You stare nonchalantly at the screen, "Well you know that was…"
Hanamaki finishes,"Interesting? No more scandalous."
You punch him in the arm, "Wow did watching a Jane Austen movie expand your vocabulary? Maybe we should ask our English teacher to watch period pieces for our class.”
Matsukawa laughs, “And hear this man’s ANNOYING crying! In class? Hell no.”
Hanamaki scoffs, “First of all shut the fuck up Mattsun, and second, I see what you did there. Turning the attention to me.”
He looks back at you and you give a disinterested look.
“Sure, but it's not really anything new. I’ve had plenty of people who hated me at first actually wanted to get to know me. I can’t blame that. People tend to do that when they encounter something new," you tell them.
"I don't blame Oikawa for being, I don't know, a bitch to me. I did kind of steal some time away from all of you to hang out together." You shrug the volleyball jacket Hanamaki gave you back on and look at the boys.
Matsukawa sighs, "Don't think about it too much [Name]. He's probably stressed and stuff about volleyball and all his school things. And honestly don't hook up with him, he's sorta a player."
You nod and turn your attention to the T.V, but you can't ignore the weird look Matsukawa and Hanamaki give each other before finally settling in and watching the movie.
MATSUKAWA POV:
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
He sees Hanamaki not so subtly come back to the couch, but [Name] doesn't mind the intrusion.
Truth be told, Matsukawa did care for [Name], but not as much as Hanamaki did. To him, [Name] was just another friend he could vibe with. For Hanamaki, it was much more.
He didn't exactly know Hanamaki's motives with [Name]. He knew they were somewhat platonic, but he couldn't tell for sure.
As for Oikawa… yeah that was clueless for him. He didn't want to agree right away with Makki, his pride wouldn't allow that, but he was right. Oikawa did find [Name] interesting, romantically.
He saw it in the way his eyes would immediately trail over to her when she walked to class. How Oikawa would cover his face "casually", when she would randomly waltz around the room with him. When Oikawa would purposely wait a while and then join the lunch line so he could go near [Name]. Sometimes, Matsukawa could literally see Oikawa undressing her with his eyes when she was at volleyball practice and she was running back and forth getting water bottles and towels, sweat covering her like sheet.
He noticed and kept them to himself. Matsukawa Issei didn't owe anybody the information he had. So he kept it to himself. He really didn't have to tell anybody.
So that's what he did. Like how he's probably going to keep this information and statements from Iwa and Makki to himself as well. He won't confront Oikawa about it, nor will he meddle with Oikawa's relationship.
But what he will do is subtly give you hints about what's going on. He thinks you're a smart enough girl, that once he gives you the directions you'll figure it out.
As to why he wants to do it. He doesn't know. Perhaps, you've grown on him.
Yes. Perhaps you did.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION TO DISCLOSE
[Name] is used to men's lewd behavior because they will do ANYTHING to sleep with ANYBODY she thinks
Matsukawa and Hanamaki trust [Name], but not enough to give her The Look

Hey, I'm doing good too. Just normal amounts of stressful stuff right now. Just moved to a country I've never been to before but can't complain, things are not as hard as the last time I did this so. Thanks for asking! Yeah, I saw you posting about some pretty scary health issues before, I'm glad you came out of that alive and hope you're healthier now!
The nerve some people have! Haha I know I would be pissed if people were questioning my intelligence like that especially after a couple of drinks in haha. Though I do like taunting people when I play group games, I'll be like "don't need to try that hard guys, you're gonna lose anyway" just to mess with them or just call people sore losers if they accuse me of cheating haha (they're probably right on the accusations tho). People get real mad sometimes it's kinda funny. 😂
Omg literally laughed out loud reading this! Hahaha, how did you manage to fall over a road sign then end up in a ditch? lol omg hope you didn't get hurt too bad 😂 I was trying to downplay my drunken escapades but since you shared yours I should tell you my worst one:
I was at this summer street party at night and got drunk on something made out of tropical herbs and cachaça (which is about 48% alcohol), drank 3 and a half bottles of that like it was apple juice, made friends with a bunch of strangers in a bathroom queue (who tried to talk to me weeks later but I had no idea who they were), had to be held by my best friend while I peed (mostly missing the toilet), fell in the middle of the street and scraped my knee, threatened this boy who was helping me walk and told him not to try anything funny or I would beat him up, then dragged my friends to the beach and left them shortly after to go make out with my ex, came back with lipstick all over my mouth and chin and when my friends asked what I was doing I said I was just talking to my ex and they were like NO YOU WERE NOT, hahaha then I kissed all my girl friends on a dare and we danced under the full moon, then I told my best friend I had to puke so she took me to the ocean but I changed my mind and happened to step on a dead turtle on the way back and started crying bc of it, but last month my best friend told me it was a rock I had stepped on (I believed it was a dead turtle for 7 years!). Had the worst hangover of my life the next day. ✌️✨
Ah I'm happy you liked it! I've never listened to Six musical before but it sounds fun! I can see why you like it haha made me want to dance around my apartment 💃. And hey if liking musicals is your thing then it's great, I'm sure Hozier will understand if he's not your top artist of the year. 😋 Here's my "damie" Pinterest board if you or anyone else wants to check it out, totally recommend making one if you're a visual person like me!

Oh I could talk about Dani and Jamie forever I think. I love the beast in the jungle speech too and it's so painful to watch, VP delivered that beautifully, but I have to admit I'm always a crying mess from episode 1 when older Jamie starts reciting that song about being sad while waiting for her lover to return, this show is fucking cruel I hate it and love it at the same time hahaha. Omg your mom 😂 but I mean it's truly an honor to be compared to someone like Dani, no? She's really great even if she needs a little help haha (don't we all).
Aaah you're amazing! Thank you so much, I'll read this pirate AU soon!
I used to draw a lot, really loved doing it when I was a kid as I said before, and all throughout adulthood too but I haven't done that in almost a year now bc I've got a bit of a case of burnout I guess, it just takes a lot of effort to do it when it shouldn't be like that at all. I used to do fanart too, for other fandoms. Even made one for Dani x Jamie but ended up not liking how it turned out haha. I've got a lot of respect for writers and fanfic writers also! Yall can make words make sense in really interesting and beautiful ways, build worlds so enthralling I can see them vividly in my head. Writing is such an incredibly fascinating skill to have! And I guess the most important thing is that we enjoy doing these things right? Even if we think we're not particularly good at it.
Anyway, have a lovely weekend! 👋✨
Good I'm glad you're doing great but sorry you're dealing with stressful stuff!! Hope living in a new country goes well for you I'm so jealous that you've lived in different countries I'd love to live somewhere else even if just for s few years!! Awwh thank you so much I definitely came out of it alive and am feeling so much better now thank you I mean I do some pretty ditzy things so when people say it to me it's pretty deserved sometimes, I'm secretly smart and people just don't expect it so I never mind too much haha I might have to start saying the things that you do and just taunting them over it I mean, I usually do win even when they make me answer different questions so I will definitely have to start saying things like that to them Haha I love that you're just like "yeah they're probably right in their accusations" I agree seeing how mad some people get over games and stuff is funny (it's me I'm people I hate loosing games depending on what it is and I am very competitive) So it was very dark and all we had for light was my roommates flashlight on her phone but while we were walking home a friend of ours that lived else where kept texting her to make sure we were still safe (my phone as dead at this point) so while she was texting him her flashlight was facing down and someone had moved this road sign to the footpath and it was on that sits on the floor so while I couldn't see it I walked into it and fell over it but while I feel I grabbed hold of it and flipped with it and fell in a ditch with it on top of me... I was fine and was just laid laughing while my friend looked down at me and in the most northern accent ever just said "get up you dickhead." and helped me off of the floor and then asked if I was okay... and I was so it was all good!! Haha 😂 I love this drunken story that sounds like one hell of a night and is a roller coaster from start to finish!! I'm sorry you thought you had stood on a dead turtle for 7 years though, someone really should've told you that it was just a rock!! But that sounds like my kind of night!! I love nights like that... stories that will last a life time... the only down side is the hangover... luckily I have only ever had one hang over in my life and it wasn't the morning after the road sign fiasco... I felt surprisingly good the morning after that haha 😂 It's such a good musical it's about Henry VIII wives and I just love everything to do with his wives and that musical is so much fun and actually gives a little insight to the lives the six Tudor queens had away from Henry and with him because at school we're mainly just taught about him which sucks!! I loved the Hozier song and am definitely gonna have to listen to more of his stuff!! I love musicals so much I mainly listen to musical soundtracks at the minute- usually, Legally Blonde and Six on repeat haha 😂 Ooo thank you I will definitely check out this Pinterest board thanks for sending it to me!! I could talk about them forever too... since watching Bly Manor my niece has been asking me so many questions about it and I am more than happy to talk to her about it haha!! The beast in the jungle speech just breaks my heart every time I relate to it so much and VP just delivers it so beautifully!! Oh yeah now I know at the beginning that it's older Jamie I am just a wreck the whole show is just so beautiful and heart breaking at the same time I LOVE IT!! Even though it makes me sob- I keep putting myself through it!! I mean, yeah I was happy that she said it Dani is great but it was the way she said it... my mum can be something else sometimes... she said she thought Dani was like me the first time she does the accent when she says "I've fallen quite in love with London" because I just randomly do accents a lot too but it was the way she was like "She needs help... but I like her she reminds me of you" I was just like... "Should I go get help?" I still don't know the answer to my question about if I need help or not but I mean I probably do need it You're welcome I really hope you like it!! It's a
great fic I love it!! Yeah I get that if stuff starts taking too much effort and burns you out you're not gonna wanna keep doing it so it's understandable that you stopped!! I think fan art is great and I really would love to be able to do it myself but I just don't have the skill it takes!! Awwh it's a shame you didn't like the Dani x Jamie one you did I would've loved to have seen it!! Honestly there are so many talented writers out there and when I read their fics I am just in awe of the worlds they have built and the stories they have created we are so blessed in this fandom to have so many amazing writers and so many amazing fics out there Oh yeah definitely its important to enjoy what you do!! I know I love writing and love writing fics for Dani and Jamie so I think I'll be doing it for a while even if I'm not great at it haha Awwh thank you very much I hope you have a great weekend too!! ☺️
