Please can I ask why we dont see any locked up cocks ?
Tom here.
One of the problems with free content on the internet is that it's almost all created by those people who have an interest in the topic.
I do not have any interest in other dicks. In the 25 plus years that I've been writing about male chastity and orgasm denial, I have seen more dick pics (locked and otherwise) than I care to think about. And you know what? I'm not the least bit interested in them. I could live out the rest of my life without seeing another dick pic, and I would be totally fine with that.
I do, however, enjoy seeing nice booty and cleavage. For some reason, I never get tired of looking at attractive women. So... given the choice between locked dicks and attractive women, and considering that I don't get paid for this, guess what kinds of pictures I prefer to use?
And if you really want to see more dick pics, Tumblr, web forums, Twitter, Reddit, in fact, the internet is full of them. I strongly urge you to take advantage of all those other resources.

lpsg anon here. so generalising massively, i can only assume the forum is mainly men considering the way the language was so direct compared to tumblr, mainly women (sorry vinny). it was objective but almost not objectifying, because it came from this place of self acceptance? i sort of understood how men dont consider their objectifying of women to be such, because it comes so naturally as a factual thought process. 'he is hot - fact' etc. whereas women, ya know, have more to protect and uphold reputation wise sadly.
i kind of liked their freedom, but it certainly made for more boring reading compared to the horny poetry we have here haha. re: noah, as you asked, it was just one mention, they were talking about a recent pic of finn (lots of the same ones as shared here!) and saying he's got long arms and they wonder what else is long (really, men? really? such a cliche lol), and then one person asked if he's been in any romantic links lately, another said he's been single for ages and some trash about elsie (at this point i could no longer believe it was all men cos this is the exact style of tumblr girl gossip lol), and then one of them said something about him being linked to noah cos of shipping. the idea of shipping being mentioned on a forum like this really throws me, is that ignorant of me? but honestly the whole thing was like the gossipthings blog but less anxious hahaha
like they said something, others were like 'oh ok' and then they moved on and continued thirsting. so much more chill than here hahaha
You were the original anon that sparked the nonsense and madness last night and you got buried under my inbox avalanche!!
I do think the demographic is mostly men, though it seems there are some women there, and even certain sections catered to them as well - there's a whole subcategory section called "Ask A" and fill in the blank with gender/sexuality. But otherwise - yeah. Which is often the stereotyped case when the site in questions leans heavily into sex and prn. Even if formatted primarily to a forum threads set-up.
No offense taken, I've spoken about my love of fandom culture and comfort I've always found on this side of fandom compared to the other options out there (although - I recently looked through some articles on tumblr stats/demographics and it seems like the gender divide is split pretty evenly? Interesting). I like tumblr/creative based fandom more. With the posts and fic and art. It seems as a young boy, I had two paths in front of me as a nerd / fanboy: Youtube video essay vlogging or tumblr for fanart and gifsets and fic writing 🤣 Doesn't it feel so silly that way sometimes? (Though, I was also a Reddit bro for a long while as well). But I recognize that there is a female-heavy side to certain spaces in fandom and it's amiss to not acknowledge it. I've loved it. Not really ever phased but who's chilling around me only. Off topic!
I see your points, interesting observations. I'll admit, it's fun getting swept up in the off the cuff statements on a site like that. Reeeeking of cliches, so very heavily. The repetitive and obvious questions like men, men!! Men, are you kidding me? Don't you have anything else to say other than "I wonder how big he is? Cut or uncut? What type of underwear does he wear?" Gentlemen. Put those horny minds to work!! I get that there's likely a lack of blood-flow happening to your brain but get it together! Be more interesting!
I tend to find myself... well, wanting to think at least I'm more of a champion for the poetic side. I think that's probably true. I prefer my horny posting with a twist of romanticism to be honest and if that makes me sound pretentious I'm not mad about it!
It was really interesting to read at least in a comparison sake to the spicy blogs around here. Very different vibes. I absolutely love our analytical thirsting to be quite honest.

i made a post a bit ago before the reddit black out even happened, talking about how many AI written articles i find when searching for answers on stuff- usually things a little more specific (questions for video games, tech, everyday things but more specific to you, etc. not just "what city is this state in"). its bad- i basically get that or i get reddit threads when i google. and before the reddit black out, i hadnt thought too much about how those AI threads would be.... the only thing left behind if i didnt have reddit. still i watched the reddit black out live, i watched /r/funny go private at midnight. and yet it didnt really hit the importance of reddit until i went on the next day looking for help on a mac laptop i was restoring and realized all the reddits i checked were private. needing mod help for my server, all private. searching reddit for a game i couldnt remember, private.
theres a lot on the internet that needs to be preserved, kept alive, kept relevant. over and over i see people reminisce on old forums and how theyre gone and be brought back- and i think no ones follows through with the format because places like reddit at least fulfill that to some extent. staying with the mainstream is easier and its understandable, bc its relevant and trying to start up your little forum and advertise it isnt easy. Reddit being mainstream becomes the useful google option for a niche forum subject without being a lone forum you probably wont find in typical google search.
and now Reddit isn't available. the most mainstream iteration of those lovely little forums of discussion and support is not available. does it hit now? does it sink in now how bad this is? the past year- maybe even less than a year- has been so so chaotic and bad for the internet. instagram starting turning into tiktok a while back with its changes to feed and format. youtube has slowly followed suit with forcing short's as more relevant for creators than normal videos. twitter did... well, all of That, a lot of Things. Reddit goes along to make their API paid for. Discord turning to the methods on social media, with username changes and more. tumblr is also shifting so much of their entire deal, i think you should all be prepared for tumblr to become unrecognizable too because theres many hints of it happening- some already here.
when i made my personal website over a year ago, it was partially fun but it was a statement for myself too. it was recognition that social media had become unhealthy for me, and i didnt like how it was The thing that existed now, and that bigs corps suddenly taking more and more control of the web was bad and not something i wanted to be stuck with. but suddenly its not just a gentle step to the side i have taken, still knowing i can be on social media to see my friends and build an audience. but now it feels more like all the walls are crumbling around me, and soon i will have no choice but to jump ship entirely. i went from one, to the other, to tumblr where i had always been- the one site that stuck out from the others at least. had an 'old' format. in many ways you need social media.... because its how you made your friends, its how you stay in touch, its how communities get built these days!!
we can try to move back to the independent, the personal sites, the forums, but we all know its not easy. thats truth. its not going to spread as far as we'd hope, many will not follow suit or not know they can. i can only imagine all the old, tech unaware people who will continue to use the internet, never realizing why they struggle to get info or unknowingly follow nonsense AI articles, and have no idea that anything exists outside of the bubble theyre forced into. Not even the old people, but the young generations that will grow into that too and not get out of it.
im just waiting for the mainstream internet to just become entirely unusable from our perspective and its dreadful to me. trying not to be a doomer but i dont think its something you cant ignore when something as simple as googling slightly more specific questions brings nothing but AI nonsense articles or reddit posts and when one of those massive and only relevant sources is down, there is suddenly nothing.

ok listen. not to be an old man shaking my cane on my porch going, "kids these days" but the whole people inserting fics into AIs really is the final nail in a big line of symptoms that points to a problematic mentality in fandom these days--i dont particularly like using the word problematic considering how the internet has poisoned its meaning, but that's exactly what it is in this case
people, particularly the newer generations that are now growing up in modern day fandom, are so used to a content-centric internet regulated by fast-paced capitalism and viewer algorithms that they really forget that the roots of fandom itself is based on community. its obvious by the way they'd much rather have a fic finished by any sort of means, even unethical means instead of, yknow, actually engaging with the fans who all write purely out of passion or even creating for themselves.
and thats really the core of the matter i think. people dont want to engage anymore, and we're now seeing the bigger consequences of that.
ive seen that in that--when talking to my younger peers--there's an alarming uptick of people who dont read WIPs anymore, and prefer to filter them out so they can only look at completed stories.
i see it in the way that people are reblogging and commenting less and less, and prefer to stick to giving likes and kudos which, while appreciated, only gives the barest of feedbacks to the actual person behind the work itself.
i see this in the death of forums and independent spaces for community to talk to each other on the internet (save for a few exceptions like maybe reddit or discord or tumblr)
and i see it in the way that people are treating fandom artists of any kind like influencers, and their art like content when theyre really not and its really, really not.
fandom creators are not influencers. they can't be because theyre not getting paid for uploading any type of fanwork. because of the murky legality of it, almost all of it has to be entirely a labor of love, hence the reason why A03 doesn't allow you to upload commissioned fanworks or link to donation sites like patreon or kofi, and also why places like society6 and redbubble are very iffy on you selling self-made merch of any official series. thats a way to get sued by major corporations really fast.
which means that any type of fanwork uploaded does not work like a book series or a complete television series that you consume on netflix. it logtiscally cant be, because its all done on the artist's own time, and in the cases of physical materials like posters, stickers or zines, with their own money. so that means that a lot of the stuff you see uploaded is going to be uploaded piece by piece, at its own pace.
thats the whole reason fanworks need engagement. anything made ever out of love is a marathon race fueled by schedule availability, money and creative willpower, and very few people can make it far on their own. but if you have a whole bunch of people commenting on each others works, sending messages, theories, creating fan-made events like "[x ship] week" or even making fanworks of the fanworks, that is a big motivation to keep creating. its easy for fan content even, because other people are already familiar with the original work, so you're not creating something from scratch
the whole reason we post WIPs (aside from passion and a general sense of "hey look at this idea! isn't it cool?") is to get feedback that we can feed into the cycle of creation, but if that integral part of the cycle is empty, then creating will only last as long as our own interest does, or we'll move on to places or fandom where more people are engaging. and it takes a lot to really snuff that need for creation we all have, but it can come to that point for a discouraged creator
if you're frustrated by an unfinished project, dont steal their works plain and simple. and yes, if you're inserting a fic directly into AI, you're basically stealing it and then giving it away to major corporations for nothing. but you dont have to turn into that artist's personal cheerleader either (altho if you did we wouldnt mind) even just commenting is enough
ask your friends to comment. share the fic with a server. write about a line that stuck with you, write theories about things you think will happen in the next chapters, write about how you like how they did [x] with a character's reaction instead of [y]. heck, if you're able to, make a fanfic of a scene you like! some fanart! a comic even! no matter how old a work, people will always be happy to see people taking the time to engage with their work in a more meaningful way than a heart button, and it doesn't take much to stoke a passion that people already had for the original material.
i promise you, whatever is made with human hands will be infinitely better than whatever was stolen with some crummy AI.
#tp#long post //#goddamn this got long. woops#theres also the fact that inserting fanworks into an AI is tempting fate and making it that much riskier--legally--for fan creators#but thats a topic for another post#blogger comments#machine generation (ai)

ok so im just gonna pick at fr from a web designer pov because looking at this site on mobile will drive me into madness if they don’t fix it at some point. The rest of this post will go under a read more because it’s both super long and image heavy.
before i hit mobile though, I’m going to point out some things i just don’t personally like in general with the site design (and yes i am conscious that they are slowly updating to a new look)
this will come as a shock to no one, if you’ve seen previous web design related posts by others anyways, but i cant. stand this menu
[ID: A cropped screenshot of Flight Rising’s Main Menu]
fr, understandably, has a shit ton of links. it’s a petsite with lore and all that, whatever. The thing that bothers me specifically is the length of links and where some are placed.
1. i BELIEVE this counts as an accessibility issue where longer links kinda trap shorter links, goes into misclicks to other pages in the site, etc. etc. 2. i don’t think. the search link should be under library personally ? Maybe make it its own category.
Dev Tracker & Media could go under this category, possibly add separate links to forum, player, and dragon searches with updated formatting
Dressing Room and Scrying Workshop could go under the “Play” category
Forums can be it’s own category with possible subcategories being: Announcements & News, Help Center, and Flight specific discussion forum, maybe more
Library category could then just be: Which Waystone, World Map, Game Database, and Encyclopedia.
Support should be it’s own category.
One thing on the shop category, and i hesitate to say this because im not CONFIDENT on this one, but I’m not sure Custom Skins exactly fits? or at least, it should be Purchase Gems -> Marketplace -> Custom Skins, not between crossroads and festive favors
Merch should probably go under purchase gems, and they should maybe uhh..... i guess change the name for it overall? because 1. “merch” alone does NOT look good with its placement, 2. its another actual money purchase thing and I think those should go on the same page
Along with that, in putting merch under that page, they could put previews of the merch with a button to go purchase instead of immediately going to their merch site (which to begin with it should open in a new tab if its going to a separate site?!!)
then this is a mix of both not liking it on laptop OR mobile,
[ID: A cropped image of Flight Rising’s Clan Home page. The Bestiary link has a bright red box highlighting it]
Obviously these pages are old, but the graphics need to be updated, and there needs to be graphics for every link in the category-- seeing with this category alone there isn’t a graphic for the Bestiary already. On top of this they need to be in link order preferably. if they had a normal dropdown menu for mobile, mobile users wouldn’t be able to access the bestiary unless FR wanted to be STUPID and do further dropdown menus w their 200 links which would be STUPID and CLUTTERED
also in my opinion the Messages link isn’t necessary since we have the button at the top. If they put it there as an excuse for accessibility, they can just. add text to the buttons. like here’s a scuffed mockup but.
[ID: Screenshot of Flight Rising’s Messages, Friend Requests, and Alerts icons edited to have Messages, Friends, and Alerts written next to the icons]
for the friends tab, they could prolly add friend requests at the top like they do for baldwin alerts, then have an online status thing for friends below with buttons to PM, trade, delete friend, etc. I think you’re already able to disable the online status thing with page visibility? but like, make those options separate if you dont wanna block off your entire page, but dont want to be seen online.
For mobile, they can just make the icons bigger.
then. i THINK. last thing on laptop site.
[ID: A screenshot of Flight Rising’s Social Media links with old Logos to YouTube, Tumblr, Reddit, Twitter, Facebook, and DeviantArt]
update these fucking icons they are personally killing me, none of these logos are in use anymore (ALSO UPDATE THE TUMBLR THEME JESUS CHRIST)
ok now for mobile. what this post was originally for.
-
as you all know, if you visit this site on mobile, there is literally no form of a mobile version for it. It is just a condensed version of the computer version of the site which is...Very Bad!
Most of a sites visitors are going to be through mobile, i forget the exact percentage, but like it’s almost a given that people more readily have their phones with them than their laptop or tablet (which. im not going to bother with the tablet version, you can apply both computer and mobile criticisms to the site). in fact a lot of my time on FR is through mobile since I’m not at home 24/7 and I don’t tote my laptop around. Playing this game through it’s mobile site is Not Fun!
I like, won’t be too pissy or anything bc like. it’s a petsite and I’m making this post for fun. but also like it was made in 2014? 2013? so I’m not going to be u kno. angry. but it nearing the point of ten years with this site and there still isn’t a mobile friendly version. that is lazy. If anything, if they wanted a site update to be the anniversary thing, they should’ve made that update be
Mobile update as primary thing, because designing the site for mobile is a shit ton of work with the amt of pages they have to work through.
Dragon Profile page update (*LOUD SIGH*)
Clan page update
Hoard update (i have thoughts on this too but i wont dive into it this post)
Purchase Gems page update
Dev Tracker update
Forums update
“but that’s a lot to update” well. that wouldve made the anniversary being a website update considerably more worth it, because in my opinion having the dragon profile pages be the ONLY thing to happen during the anniversary was a waste and a bad decision, because other website updates are just. normal whatever updates. it made the anniversary SUPER underwhelming especially bc the past ones (to my knowledge) have only been major game mechanic updates like the eye & ancients update and i believe? the color wheel expansion was an anniversary thing? someone can correct me on that I haven’t played this game as long as most LMAO
as for how i personally would situate the mobile site. shitty graphic time, bc im not putting too much effort into this (warning this will be LONG)
[ID: Image 1. A crudely put together screenshot of the top half of a Mobile View of Flight Rising with comments on either side. It ends with the Latest News segments “Riot of Rot” and “Hoard & Vault Revamp”
Comment 1, Left side: “no banner make it a solid color that matches the burger menu. size the logo correctly etc. Comment 2, Right side: “burger menu w ONLY the categories, goes to the homepages of the categories” Comment 3, Right side: “TWO latest news posts, maybe a button to go see earlier news (which may b something to add to comp too)” Comment 4, Right side: “center dates and comments maybe idfk”
At the bottom of the image there is an added “button” that says “more updates button”]
[ID: Image 2. The bottom half of the mobile view with comments on the left side. There is a put together white box that has the Plague Flight Logo and “plage dom !” written in it. Below it are the Site Status, Random Dragon, and Exalt Bonuses boxes from the site. Underneath that is a red box with “ad space” in the center, with a red footer at the bottom.
The footer contains, “social media! (specifally made icons for site)”, “better formatted links”, and “copyright”.
Comment 1: “idk what they would caption it but the flashy can go here.” Comment 2: “ONE site status update if they keep this format” Comment 3: “probably center these links. i dont know what they use to build the site but im sure you can make icons for social media on just about anything unless this is all handcoded. just. make small icons it takes two seconds and you can copy+paste”]
i dont even want to THINK about how the lair and all that would look on mobile, it was a chore doing the home page alone SOBS
anyways, in ref to these images though--
this is just slapped together and definitely wouldn’t be a final draft, it could use some tweaking
the flashy i refer to is the box that’s above the user box that says what flight is in dom, what festival is going on, etc.
when i mention building the site and “you can make icons for social media on just about anything” im referring to wordpress, wix, whatever is used to format the site. I really only have experience with wordpress thru elementor and divi (so far) so im not CERTAIN about other places but I feel it would be pretty common to have that tool. if not, making icons (or snatching some) is rlly not that hard, probably only costly depending on what their webdesigner(s) charge for icons
I’m not like certain on who does what, how the webdesigner(s) work with/price this site, etc. etc. this is just. going off of my own knowledge. and in general this whole post is my own knowledge abt shit i did no further research to FRs team specifically
i think this is basically it, i’ll reblog with more if i think of anything, but feel free to add things yourself or in general discuss things. again this post was made for fun so im not taking it seriously or demanding for these changes to be made, just personal annoyances and preferences.
This is also my first time doing picture IDs for a post so if I need to correct anything or the like let me know and I’ll edit it in the post!
#im afraid to put this in the tag but you can rb i dont care#but GOD this post ended up so much longer than i anticipated..............#the more i looked at the site the more i saw to point out LMAO#also i tried making this post more accessible bt if theres still some things that dont make sense please let me know#esp the picture ids#theres also so much more i could add whether it's inconsistencies or whatever but i do not !! have the time for that

INTERVIEW WITH TC LOVER KEVIN LOMBARDO
1) When did you first find yourself loving true crime?
“When I was 12 years old. And I’m 22 now so that is a decade of true crime obsession.”
2) Was there a specific book, tv show, documentary or other form of entertainment that opened your eyes?
“Mean Streets by Martin Scorcese. He divulges so deep into the crime scene and dark operations going on behind closed doors and all his work is affiliated with the New York/ east coast mafia in the 70’2, 80’, and 90’s. It’s all based on true stories.”
3) Why do you think you are fascinated with true crime as a genre?
“I am a director, writer, anything in the industry…I want to write crime. I want to write stories, short, feature films, I want all my scripts to focus on true crime. I want to dip deep in to the psychology and deep characteristics of human beings. Why would they do this, how did they do this, what drove them to this point, what is their purpose….every criminal has a motive and as a screenwriter I need to research true crime so I can write the characters in my stories genuinely and motives drive a great feature film. A story about an ordinary person in an extraordinary situation.”
4) Do you have a specifically favorite true crime story?
“Fuck give me a second… Probably the Gambino Crime family. That is real mafia, and I love mafia. I read that someone just got shot affiliated with them like a few weeks ago. It is wild and happening constantly.”
5) What is your favorite non-fictional crime book?
“The Tale of a New York City Cop. It is so good.”
6) What is your favorite non-fictional crime podcast?
“I dont listen to podcasts but I have heard amazing things about Serial and I am going to start.”
7) What is your favorite non-fictional crime series?
“The Ted Bundy tapes. I loved that series on Netflix. Because you can see first hand how fucking insane people are and how crazy he is. It is crazy how Ted Bundy thinks and can be in SUCH denial about guilt! He maintains his innocence throughout the whole series and it is wild. The real footage, photographs, tape recordings, newspaper clippings….its a really great series and a fantastic divulgement into Ted Bundy. I saw a side of him I didn’t know existed.”
8) Do you think true crime is lately a pop-culture obsession?
“It is totally pop culture, and I honestly think Netflix had a lot to do with that. My dad would tell me stories about the Night Stalker when he was a kid because it was around Palms where he was living, and one person who was killed by the night stalker was murdered five houses down from him. So I think I personally have always been interested in crime because of the stories my dad would tell me where he was personally affected, but lately, in pop culture there are mediums like Hulu and Netflix that make true crime stories more accessible and fun.”
9) Are serial killers being romanticized?
“I think so. Some people are weird like that…it’s actually insane. Like sending letter to them in prison and all. Bizarre.”
10) Do you think people enjoy crime as a psychological relief they are not the victim?
“I mean I never think that. Subconsciously maybe we all do but I dont think that is a big driving force why I am interested in crime.”
11) https://www.buzzfeed.com/remeepatel/only-a-true-crime-expert-can-get-more-than-710-on-this-quiz?bfsource=bfocompareon&bfsource=bfocompareon <— what did you score on this quiz?
“6 out of 8! Pretty good. One of them was tricky because there are two nightstalkers”
12) Do you like talking to other true crime lovers?
“Oh absolutely. I could talk for hours about cases and random stories, there was a case recently I heard about because my friend’s friend’s father was the one murdered and I just decided to look her up… its a crazy story about a playboy bunny, jewels, club bouncer, car on fire… and I couldn’t wait to call everyone I trusted and knew would talk with me in confidence but also loved true crime.”
13) Do you think Reddit pages, Tumblr account or other online talk forums for talking about crime glorify or condone murder?
“No I think its normal and healthy to be fascinated with crime. It is abnormal and we as humans are attracted to the gritty, crazy, abnormal, bizarre, extraordinary… Again a good movie is made from an ordinary person in an extraordinary situation.”
14) Anything else you want to say about True Crime?
“Watch Zodiac! And watch out for a film of mine coming out in the future. Kevin Lombardo written and Directed.”

I've only ever once seen a community rules for a fandom work out and thats because it's a fringe case. I genuinely don't think having a list of 10 Commandments Everyone Must Abide By (exaggeration) in a fandom on a particular platform is achievable in the community or healthy for the individuals involved, because that requires moderation, and you can't moderate Twitter and Tumblr the way you could moderate, say, a forum, or a Discord server.
instead, big public fandoms like that develop unwritten codes of conduct, behaviors we understand to be courtesy (for example: blocking/filtering and moving on, not stirring up shipping drama, not really making fanfic/fan AUs of or shipping the actual irl hermits). then when somebody violates that, we're able to individually decide how we want to approach that
if you want a more heavily moderated community, just make it a discord server, or else things will slip through the cracks, and people you dont want will be part of your community and just stay quiet about it because they dont want to get harassed or sent death threats
or you know. just go look at the reddit
Just took a trip through hermittwt and it was indistinguishable from dsmptwt. I’m so disappointed in them (if anything it’s more embarrassing, scar’s a good 20-something years older than the average twitter stan I’m sure he can handle himself)
COHSHOCJOGJSPIGSGIP
yeah thats.... kind of my issue with them as well and why i stepped back a bit from the community, even if I was kinda on the fringes in the first place. the hermits are established adults who know how to behave and handle themselves online, and when an issue arises, they know they have a support system in each other (think xisuma helping tfc write the apology video he released a couple months ago). the way they're very concerned with keeping the feelings of the irl hermits in mind with the content and jokes they make is kinda... silly? to me, because 1) the hermits are adults who can block and mute people as they feel necessary, and 2) fandom isnt for the creators, it's for the fans. That's a sentiment Joe Hills himself expressed on stream in early 2020 when discussing his feelings on shipping. it's cool when creators are involved with fandom (think scott smajor checking in on tumblr's 3rd life and empires memes), but fundamentally, the hermitcraft fandom is for our enjoyment and not for the enjoyment of the hermits. obviously that doesnt mean being completely unrestrained with the kind of jokes/content we make (dont be assholes/bigots, use the agreed upon tagging systems, lock fics to only archive users on ao3 when you want to keep ccs out, and warn when necessary)
that and the fact that they have like, community rules when it's a public subtwt is a red flag for me personally. one of the problems that happened in hermitblr in 2019 was certain users/groups of users trying to force certain mindsets/opinions on the rest of the community and it ended up creating a very toxic environment because people were scared to think differently, whether that was intentional or unintentional. hermittwt has (or has tried to have) a policy of "keeping drama to the dms", too, so they can present themselves as a friendly and approachable subtwt, and it all just. it reeks of toxicity & negativity being bottled up and of groupthink
im sure they're all lovely people, and I've interacted with some of them and theyve been very nice. i just dont think the format/genre of having stan accounts dedicated to hermitcraft really works with hermitcraft as a brand and as a community of ccs, and the way theyve tried to go about handling their community reminds me too much of 2019 hermitblr to feel 100% safe there. that's just my onion tho

I really, really don't understand why people hate twitter so much. I don't get how people are seeing stuff they dont want to see when you can curate who youre following?
Like... All I do is follow artists and at worst I see people occasionally arguing with someone. I am honestly baffled by how people find so much vitriol on it when you can curate your experience. Not as much as tumblr and I hate the word limit, but it's the same thing I do on tumblr but with more people since all the peoplle I followed here moved to Twitter...
This maybe sounds a bit rude cuz I genuinely do not understand how people are happening across nasty shit. Just because it EXISTS doesnt mean you have to look at it???
Same with reddit. Reddit is really nice if you just stick to subreddits that arent wierd. I feel people only see the worst of a site and assume thats how the whole thing is, which is still awful that it exists, but how are you seeing that stuff *on the site?*
I dunno. It confuses me. Am I just lucky and don't come across wierd stuff. Even as a kid browsing forums I saw more fucked up stuff. Maybe it's something that happens to people with big followings but that doesnt change how you can curate your timeline...?

Discovering Biphobia
A/N: This story features a confused, pansexual Jack and people being biphobic pricks. You have been warned.
“Sam... I don’t understand... Why are people so rude? All I said on this forum was that I’m not picky about people’s gender, and they’re calling me a ‘slut’ and ‘needy’ and saying I should ‘pick a gender’, but why would I when there are so many out there?” Sam sighed and sat up. He’d been trying to nap (unsuccessfully) when the nephilim had walked into his room. He patted the spot beside himself on his bed and asked, “Jack, do you know what ‘bisexual’ means?” Jack nodded and informed Sam, “I know that I’m pansexual, I found that word on a website named Tumblr. I like Tumblr. People there are far less rude than on this... 4chan thing.” Sam almost laughed, but he felt bad for Jack. He looked down at the tablet in Jack’s hands and winced at the insults being thrown at the young nephilim- “kys”, “stfu about ur ‘pansexual’ bisexual bs, just pick one and dont be a slut”, “ew, no one will ever want to date you”, and more- and he took the device. He tapped out a quick reply to everyone- “I feel bad for you all- you’re all so down about yourselves and so insecure that you can’t handle the thought of someone loving others in his own way. I would stay on this site but I don’t hang out with people who don’t know how not to say anything if they have nothing nice to say.”- before he deleted the ap.
“Some people are just idiots, ignore them. There are a lot of stereotypes about bisexual people, and unfortunately, that also carries over to pansexual people. 4chan is basically the online version of a vampire nest, but they’re not actually vampires and they aren’t intelligent or independent enough to be vampires. They feed on making people feel like shit, and you should probably stick to Tumblr with the whole pansexual thing, Reddit is better than 4chan, but there are still some jerks on there,” Sam explained and put an arm around Jack. “Why do they think I should kill myself?” Sam sighed softly. “Honestly? They probably want to kill themselves, it’s something very sad people do to try to make themselves feel better, they think putting others down will make their life more meaningful, but it won’t. Just ignore them, or offer them some advice if you can.”

1. Not everyone lives in america hun. Not every country has a draft. Also: your draft hasnt been used since the vietnam war and who do you have to blame for putting that into legislation??? Its not feminists :)))
2. False rape allegations occur as often as any other crime when it comes to false reporting. And--i cant believe mra's dont know this--but men are more likely to be sexually assulted than to be falsely accused of a rape. Or falsely accused of a murder for the matter. That doesnt make false allegations okay but its not feminist's fault they exist. Also: 97% of rapes go unreported.
3. Im not just butthurt someone told me to stay in the kitchen. There are more serious issues, but i didnt think to bring them up in a fucking light-hearted tumblr post because not everything is a goddamn debate forum
4. People already "circumcise" women on mass. If you focus anywhere except america then youd see what an epidemic female genital mutilation is. Also: feminists dont want to circumcise your babies! Who's fault is it? patriarchal religions. They can stop any time they want.
5. You're misrepresenting what happens to male victims of abuse. And in cases where they do have charges filed against them after calling the police it's because there was violence on both sides. But generally a male victim reporting domestic violence is not sent to jail. Thats fear mongering. And just flabergasting.
6. Its clear you've internalised a lot of MRA propaganda. They never present the full facts and they put their thumb on the scale very often and use misleading statistics or debunked sources. Do your own research. And look at both sides. I have. I didnt always use to believe in feminist theory. Dont get all your information off of reddit or tumblr. Look at actual books and studies because why the fuck would you listen to me??? You've already decided everything im saying is bullshit. So look up some actual sources. Analyse the data for yourself. Take an online statistics course if you have to in order to understand it for yourself
7. Oh my godddddddddddddddddd. Not everything is the fault of feminists.
I have decided to become a reverse sexist. If men wanna claim reverse sexism i'll give it to them. I'll tell them a mans place is in the kitchen, and call him the dishwasher and make sandwich jokes. Thats reversing sexism.

Loveline listener survey
Copy and paste to your own preferred word processor, so that you can save progress, and return to [email protected] or dm me your completed survey on twitter, @basicallyesme This survey is for all Loveline listeners of any kind, any era, even the occasional listener who just really liked the show but just didn’t listen very consistently. I’m looking for patterns and similarities as well as differences in the listener community. Though respondents to this survey are going to be a much smaller group than what was probably possible when it was when Loveline was still in the format we remember of 5 nights a week on terrestrial radio, I still think it’ll be interesting to see what patterns and surprises arise. I’m that hoping within a year I can have enough data to see some kind of something, which I’ll update on my Tumblr. But after a year I will continue to take surveys as long as people are willing to answer, for as many years as there’s interest. Though I will not share stories or details unless specifically given permission, if you wish to remain anonymous but still want to answer you’re going to have to start an anonymous email or twitter account to answer from (if I dont follow right away tweet me to let me know you’re not a spammer and just trying to answer the survey). I might have questions I would like elaboration or clarification on and may want to ask for permission to use stories, so PLEASE do not close your anonymous reply account right after completeing and returning the survey, I’ll let you know when I’ve read your answers and if I have more questions or not. Heres the really fun part: I’m looking for fans to interview over Skype for an upcoming fan podcast. I can’t say exactly when that will go online just yet, because I want a bit of backlogged episodes and just started the first interviews, but it will definitely be linked to this my Tumblr account and shared on my twitter account as well as on reddit. If you are interested in being interviewed please specify at the top of your reply email. Thanks a million in advance, take your time, please forgive the longwindedness and say as little or as much as you want. But if your fingers get tired and you’re planning on being interviewed just mark answers with an ansterisk (*) at the end if you’d like to elaborate on that topic over Skype. Stay in touch and maybe in a year or two ill have collected enough answers to see some data or patterns... or something.

@puppydeathfarts I'm just reblogging cause my rambling is too long for comments
So this is me just... completely off-the-cuff conclusions. Brain storming, so to speak, so I may or may not agree with my own words by the end.
Tumblr DID community is the chillest, I think. Which is reflective of the medium, you consume exactly what you want to and usually in a longer prose form. Paragraphs and stories. Everything is tagged without burdening word count, so its easy to follow and block as desired. But since people can be so selective, it can be hard to connect with people if you dont already know them. As a result, its a good place to just... vent. Scream into the void, and occasionally it'll scream back. Usually reassurances, with the rare jerk. But its not a great place if you're seeking to be heard and responded to. Its like sitting in the same room with a bunch of people: sometimes its quietly coexisting with friends and sometimes its lonely and alienating.
Twitter DID community is... well, the comparison isnt great, but it feels like high school. Lots happening all the time. You can create your own clique, but you cant help but overhear someone screaming about some injustice. Sometimes its educational and you're really vibing with what people are saying. Sometimes it feels like an emotional world war. So if you want constant interaction and content to consume, its a good place to go. If you're empathetic or sensitive, maybe... dont. But it does give a sense of belonging, "look at all these things happening, and I can be a part of it!"
Reddit DID community is great for questions, answers, and occasionally discussion. The forum design means its easy for people to browse and interact. If you're new to the diagnosis, its a great way to ask and learn. The problem being is it kinda perpetually attracts that. So my personal experience has been that it really focuses on alters being different people. And people cling to that and are very vocal about dissenting opinions. So if you need someone else's opinion on something, and you need answers that might require longer answers, thats where you go. But if you're working on integration, maybe dont. Maybe as your own post, but that POV isnt taken well in comments generally.
Tiktok DID community feels like an amusement park to me. Is it real, is it not, who knows? Its got people crying "look at me!" just as much as it has people hunting for an attraction. Honestly though, i havent used it much. I occasionally find the relatable content, but it by and large feels too... showy to me.
Discord DID community feels like a collection of clubs. Sometimes you find a great place with great people and you learn a lot. Sometimes its just kinda... weird. Sometimes theres a distinct feeling of "I'm in the wrong room and I dont belong." It CAN be a good place to connect; you just have to find the right place. But it can also kind of... consume you. Its easy to get stuck talking to people for hours, hunched over your phone or computer, instead of like... taking care of yourself and doing productive things.
I cant say anything about Facebook. I've never joined a group, because I am far too scared of people IRL learning about my diagnosis. I understand there's closed groups, but I dont know how they work.
Youtube feels like a convention. You can find what you want to learn, but there's not much of a community. Everyone you meet there, you'll probably lose touch with once you're done unless you trade socials. It also doesnt have much in the way of checking how reputable someone is. When you're at a convention, youre just sort of trusting these are professionals. Same with youtube. The speaker rarely speaks poorly of themself. And with youtube, the speaker can even control responses in the comments. Both of them require you do your own research on the person outside of that medium in order to understand who they are.
So, in my personal conclusion, each site has their own uses depending on your needs and stage of recovery. Reddit is a great place to start after diagnosis. Youtube is too. But both require you to do your own research as well. They're generally good foundations to start at though. Twitter is a good way to see youtube speakers out of that element, and as a result, its an easy place to touch base with the community. But its also reactive by nature, so it might not be a good place to go if easily triggered. Once you get far enough along in recovery to know yourself a bit, Tumblr is a good place to go to start cultivating the environment you need to grow. For some, they need those alter lists to have the courage to explore their system, but others need to connect with people working on integration. You can find both here, but you need to cultivate your experience. Discord can be great to connect on a deeper level and really make friends, but you have to be even more careful there to find the right space for you. And it requires a degree of self control, as do any of these sites I suppose. None of these will do the hard work for you obviously; you gotta go to counseling and read the books on your own. So all of these are supplemental at best.
So... thats a lot of words without saying much, I suppose. Rambling is one of my skills. I'm absolutely open to other people's inputs. This is obviously based off my own experiences and a ton of conjecture. I might do some research on these websites in earnest later, cause web analytics is fascinating.
It just blows my mind how completely different the DID community is on different social media. Its like they each have their own culture, and its so weird. Interesting too, but also baffling. I feel like I need to study this.
