Soooo I very obviously don’t know the whole situation with Noel but I read some of your asks and I saw people saying that they wished he would have made a more public statement regarding the “situation” to like apologize (???? Hopefully I’m not confusing you bc I very honestly am still trying to catch up myself lol) And I don’t like to make excuses for anyone but we all know he’s not active on social media unless he’s promoting his jobs and also I think that his age plays a factor in why he didn’t feel the need to make a big to-do or announcement. I doubt he’s following any young influencers who make notes app apologies 24/7 just to settle down their scandals, SOOO I honestly think that him unfollowing the cop was his way of righting his wrongs. Thank you! I agree. I think his age and how he's never usually on social media play a huge part in it. He unfollowed when he realized that person was problematic. I don't feel the need to announce every time I unfollow someone because I saw some shit I dont agree with. I get its different cause he's famous and I'm not but like noel doesn't use social media like all of us and influencers do. He uses it to promote his acting and when it was time to vote he promoted getting out there and voting to make a difference.

Cancel culture is very extreme and not always warranted. Yes for known racists, homophobes, antisemites, rapists, etc, cancel them and keep them accountable for their actions, but to wanna cancel someone for someone they followed when we don't know for a fact he even knows this person irl or if he even knew he was problematic.

Unfollowing, muting, and blocking people is the way to go. If you notice someone you're following posting shit you don't agree with or not posting when it comes to issues you care deeply about then please unfollow them, mute them or block them so you don't have to see them pop up again.

I literally cut a friend loose after almost a decade and blocked her on all social media. I didn't agree with anything she said when it came to covid or the BLM protests and then when I had surgery she didn't message me once. She isn't someone I need in my life. If I could cut someone out whos been in my life for that long, you can definitely unfollow some random ass person on social media because you don't agree with their opinions, politics, or whatever.

She voiced her opinion on this matter. She said what she has said a long time back. YOUUUU her followers have the power to change the story. Change history. a few things to know since I’ve be away for a few days: 

(if you wish to read then please by all means; it’s all under the cut!) 

1) to those who have been patiently awaiting for more ‘hey, my alien’, i’ll have to ask for you to wait a little longer.  It’s not a shock to anyone that i’m garbo when it comes to routine anything lol.  If you’ve visited my wip pages within the past day you’ll see that it is on a mini hiatus and for many reasons.  

2) i have a story that has to remain a mystery for BangtanIDX as its going to be part of their prompt exchange at the end of the month. I was given a prompt and an au addition I haven’t really written for before and it’s getting under my skin that I’ve had my prompt for almost 2 weeks and still haven’t been able to think of a good enough story line. and the deadline it has is taking a lot of my mental power

3) i’ve been active more on other sm recently to support the blm movements so tumblr hasn’t been my focus as of late (but i’m back on now dw). my small lil hole in the wall town did a peace rally to support blm 3 days ago so i was previously busy preparing for that. 

4) i have other projects and stories i’m working on as well and i’m finally getting back into the swing of things after i released P&S.  I realized it was just posted 5 days ago, but i had it finished before posting by about 3 days and since then I haven’t been able to write the way i want to.  Everything feels just awful to me, so i’ve spent some time away from the computer to try and figure out how to write to my own liking again (its a struggle, but we’re getting there) 

5) after this last week of a writing de-tox i’m doing better.  being more open and speaking up about what i believe in has helped me in ways i didn’t know it would.  it made me realized that keeping to himself about matters wasn’t helping anyone, especially me. in regards to that, i’m also trying to pick myself up from some more personal issues, but we won’t open that box lol

6) also my sister has been visiting me for the past week so i’ve been hanging out with her more before she leaves back home and i’ve been digging myself in work to try and get a decent paycheck (which was still bad) bc money is getting harder to earn recently oof 

all in all, this is a lil psa of where i’ve been and a lil heads up to what i’ll be doing and what i’m currently trying to get worked out bc i’ve been away for a hot minute.  

I hope everyone is doing well and staying safe.  If you’re protesting please wear as much safety gear as possible and turn off location on your phone if you bring it to record how injustice the police force can be (if you can get away with it, leave it at home turned off- others with phones will always get what needs to be recorded!) Remember not to wear contacts and use glasses if possible. shin guards and palm guards are good to have under jackets or sweaters if you worried about brutality.  And dont be afraid to go out and protest for our poc bc everyone protesting beside you will protect you. our beautiful and wonderful poc deserve so much more than they’ve been getting <3 

and for those on my page who don’t support blm for whatever disgusting reason, i implore you to unfollow me immediately. don’t inbox me to argue, just unfollow me. i won’t engage with your toxic mindset. I won’t stand for anyone to think they’re so important that they shame and think people of a different skin color deserve less.  If anything, they deserve more and one way or another, they will get their freedom.
