this is such a long time overdue, but since ive been away so long i figured this would be a good way to address everything, like whats been happening in my life and my future plans for no1sm for everyones clarity.

to put it shortly, i work full-time, and have done for nearly 2 years now. i am a product designer and i work monday-friday, 9-5. i attend a full day of college classes once a week, this day being even longer than a work day, and on top of that i have a personal work-based tutor that i have to complete work for as well. so in terms of professional obligations, im extremely busy. in my personal life, ive been seeing friends a lot, running errands, planning for weddings, parties, buying a car, SO MANY THINGS. my life has been so hectic.

ive also been suffering some health problems recently. my earliest or readers that are close friends probably know i began writing no1sm to vent my feelings about trauma i underwent, and this obviously still affects me quite greatly alongside depression and anxiety. ive also been suffering quite badly with insomnia and fatigue problems, as well as, embarrassingly, moderately bad eczema.

perhaps the most ridiculous development of all: I AM NOT CURRENTLY HYPERFIXATED ON SOUTH PARK. SHOCK HORROR. BUT PLEASE DONT PANIC: it is still my spin, stan and kyle are still my most favourite characters ever, and most of all i still ENJOY south park and enjoy thinking about, planning, and writing no1sm (when im not completely utterly knackered). ive actually recently gotten majorly into formula 1 as a result of my friends, so if there are any f1 fans following me PLEASE SAY HI!!!!! i plan to do art for it but i have been busy and im also very much a perfectionist. Guide for Doing Commissions

I've been seeing posts from artist who got scammed doing commissions so i thought I'd share my process from when I did them to avoid scams! Payment - Agree on pricing and payment process and confirm they understand before you draw anything. take a screenshot of this as well. Make sure there are no surprises for anyone with the payment process. - always always ALWAYS take at least 50% up front. This is to make sure they cant run off with any of the process without paying. I allowed for a refund if they did not like the sketch but once the sketch has been approved no refund is available. - never send the final before getting paid in full. I would send a lower quality watermarked version to show how it looks then would send the high quality un watermarked file after I'd received payment.

Customers - Friends! My first few were my friends and then when people saw what i did for them they would know to find me for similar stuff! People who love what you made for them will recommend you to others! - People who find your work on their own. Usually im inherently more suspicious of people who dont follow me or anyone who ive worked with. I will still treat them fairly but this can be a red flag so i put up my guard

Advertising - Have your prices and info easy to find! I kept mine in a pinned post and had a link to my website in my bio. If someone came to me and asked about stuff that I had listed in my website or post that's a huge red flag. Most serious commissioners will try to figure out if they can afford your prices before they express interest in commissioning you. - LIST THAT YOU MAY REFUSE ANY COMMISSION FOR ANY REASON this is to avoid conflict when refusing suspicious customers - You don't need a big "my commissions are open!" post. You can have one but unless you are already a big account this is unlikely to reach beyond people who are already interested in your work. something small like "_ commission slots open" is enough to inform your followers

Pricing this is less about avoiding scams and more about pricing your work properly - give yourself wiggle room for difficulty. In all my prices I would add something like "10-20$ more for very complicated designs - price for time and effort. I would set a base price anywhere from 5-50$ depending on the difficulty (ie. 5$ for icons and 50$ for animations) then add to it payment for my time. To get time i would time myself making that sort of work to get my usual work time in hours (excluding breaks and such) then i would multiply that by 6-10$ and add it to my base price to get my final price. So price is determined by b+ht=p where b is base price, h is hourly addition, and t is time in hours to finish the work. this also has the added benefit of forcing you to work within your usual time and not go overboard beyond what you are getting paid for! Red Flags heres some red flags ive seen for difficult customers and scams. - complains about other artists. if they seem to not be treating other artists well they wont treat you good either - hasn't checked your prices before contacting you. how can they plan to pay in full if they havent even looked at what they are getting into? - very newly created account. typically commissioners will have been following you or at least seeing your work before they reach out. a new account is a red flag - wants you to finish something another artist started. I will never touch another artists work unless they have spoken to me directly about it. I dont trust "please render this sketch i commissioned from someone else!". Final Tips - tell your customer how long it will take you to finish their commission (give yourself a week at minimum because sometimes life happens and you need wiggle room). - keep your customer up to date and ask questions! dont send high quality process picture but make sure they like how its going! -Small streamers and creators are some of the best customers I've had because they often will come for more later if they like what you made! super fun to work with especially because you get to see them show your work to their audience

Im kind of a jack of dropped trades. Wanted to be a fieldresearch wildlife biologist for awhile but then dropped out to dissapoint my family and move in with my partner 4 states over. Loved being a massage therapist but got frustrated with my level of power in the medical system. (Not from clients but from insurance companies and other healthcare providers, it was so frustrating advocating my clients get their sessions paid for when they had "legitimate" pain (all pain is legit)).

So now Im working to get my doctorate in occupational therapy which is kind of like applied pt and psychology. We ask clients what they want to do, find what is preventing that task from being done, and address that prevention either by removing it, finding substitutions, or ways to help reduce the problem. Lots of OTs work in schools with kiddos who have barriers to doing homework. Some with adults who want to get back into crochet or cooking after a hand injury and we need to practice how thatl work.

Specifically I want to work with people who want to have sex, but have access issues due to health and safety. Maybe they have spinal cord injuries, maybe they have RA, maybe their bp medication makes their skin tear dangerously easily in unsexy and life threatening ways. Who better to address these concerns than the bdsm community who work so hard to design toys, buildings, furniture and mpre to support boring sex, weird sex, almost sex, not sex, wild sex, and competitive ranked sex. (Also everyone who has any awareness of the culture can clock me and my partner from blocks away even in a plainclothes setting just by posture alone)

I have to spend an entire year (at least) doing a big project for the school and then present it to people who will try to make me speak for and defend the research (this is tradition in america). So i’m kind of struggling with this situation I kind of backed myself into and need some advice that isn’t my therapist. (sorry this is really long)

So I work for this multimedia company that lets us be our own talent in a way, we have podcasts, and radio shows, and fun social media, and a whole blogging site. My job and the reason I was hired was to do the background stuff, the graphic design, video shooting and editing, t-shirts, beer labels, I’ve been on camera a handful of times as Im not 100% comfortable with it which is 100% fine with everyone on my team. (plus my work load sometimes keeps from from this) but if asked to be on something once in a while, I usually will. 

Me and Lucy have gotten close over the last while and started a friendship but we are polar opposite of I’m an anxiety ridden people pleaser and she’s a no filter, will send a plate back three times if the restaurant messes up kind of person.  somehow we still get along cause we are both creative in the same ways. She is also 20 years old still in school intern, and I am a 25 year old BA in graphic design + marketing working in this industry for about 3 years now.

So I went and talked to my boss about my apprehension of it and he was fully supportive of whatever direction I wanted to take, either go through with it or not. 

I feel like I am going to burn a friendship if I pull out now, but I can already see when she goes back to school in the fall and we have this following already that I am going to get dumped with it and will be drowning in stress. I already work during the weekends sometimes and I’ve caught myself being like “no stop wtf is wrong with you.” 

I also do contract work outside of this day job and a show/podcast isn’t anything I’ve ever seen me doing. I hate the sound of my voice and I hate having takes that people may not agree with, I don’t want that. and the more I think about it the more I just can’t wrap my head around it. 

I don’t think the honest way of me being like “hey I’m sorry but I don’t think I can do this now” is going to go over well without her never talking to me again. which is whatever, but even right now I am trying to figure out my schedule for us to record and it would have to be in the evenings which... shouldn’t have to happen. 

I keep thinking about a compromise, maybe a 30 minute show every two weeks as a re-cap but even then I’m not sure she is going to be happy with that and I still think I might be stretching myself too thin (i literally was told yesterday by my therapist the feeling I was having were called burn out) 

So im not sure what to do but maybe just need someone to tell me its okay that I dont want to do this thing because I am afraid of factors A) B) C) (all in bold) plus much more. Everyone keeps tell me “but what if it’s awesome” and i just keep thinking “this isnt the direction I want my career to go, I want to be behind the scenes”

"And she said No" Donghyuck huffed taking a swig of his alcohol, while the boy opposite him started laughing at the story, "Don't," he says pointing a finger at him "Don't laugh at me, Mark Lee"

He snorts and takes a sip of his drink before replying "Well you deserved it, did you think she'll agree?" he pints out and sighs, running his fingers through his hair "You're fortunate enough that she didn't refuse your advances in front of everyone"

Donghyuck groaned and glared at Mark "You're supposed to be on my side"

"I'm on nobody's side"

"What a lucky bitch nobody must be"

"Think about it, other than the maid of the royal family, she has a life of her own, with people she adores and people who adore her right back," he points at Prince Donghyuck's chest "You suddenly pulling that stunt, is only making it harder for her, so be a little bit more," he thinks of the right word "Sympathetic"

Hyuck nods, playing with the liquid in his glass as Mark stands up to leave "Don't leave me," Hyuck accuses "Stay here till the sun rises"

"And why should I do that?"

"Because if Jeno and Jaem find out they're going to yell at me, if Renjun finds out he'll laugh at me, Chenle and Jisung are underaged to drink and Lucas Hyung is talking to his Fiancé"

Mark raises an eyebrow unamused by the younger's words

"Y/n is asleep on my bed," he answers honestly this time, relenting to the older's stare "I told her to sleep there and made an excuse that my parents might walk in and wonder why she is asleep on the sofa, so I waited till she slept before leaving her there to rest, you know like a gentleman"

Mark hums and sits back down "And what do I have to do with this?"

"I can use you as an excuse as to why I'm not in the room"

"Ok," Mark rolls his eyes and nods "Then why ask me to come here at Eleven in the evening if you just wanted her to be alone in the bed?"

"She slept at Eleven!" He shot back "she was on her phone for two hours, giggling to herself, whoever she was talking to is making her all giddy"

"Maybe she has a boyfriend or talking to her friends how dumb their prince is," Mark added "that's why she wouldn't accept you, none the less, at least try to be a bit more considerate on how she is feeling"

       "Morning" was the first thing Y/n heard when she woke up, don't get her wrong, she wakes up early cause of her job, but she also knows that the prince rises even earlier cause he loves the sunrise and when she opened her eyes that's where he was, by the window, letting the sun coat him in light making him glow, his black hair styled to perfection, his dress shirt wrapped snugly against his body, the tailor did a splendid job on this one, his trousers and unbuttoned blazer giving off a casual look. For a moment she sat there in awe, he was beautiful, absolutely breathtaking that it takes all her strength to look away "Go get ready, we're returning home after breakfast" he points at a dress beside the bed, that she hasn't noticed, and we have the prince to blame for that

The dress was a red, more pastel-like, giving off an innocent vibe, Off-shoulder vintage style is what she would describe it "What about that dress, Prince?"

"It's yours," He said and looked at her "If anyone  asks tell them I gave it as a gift to you on your birthday" she blushes and shakes her head, opening her mouth to speak if only he didn't cut her off "Gifts are meant to be accepted, love, so accept the dress, it's yours now"

Just as he spoke a maid entered the room bowing to the prince "Your Highness," She faces Y/n and immediately recognizes her, it was one of the new maids in Prince Donghyuck's Kingdom, She remembers to cause this girl was supposed to be under her wing "Milady"

Y/n gasps and looks at the girl in shock "Hana" She says and shakes her head

The prince walks towards Hana, petting her hair, "Speak casually to her, it's alright" He smiles and nods at the dress "Take care of her, see you in the dining hall my love" he says, taking her hand to kiss her knuckles and leaves the room

Y/n looks at the younger maid who looks at her in awe "Pardon me for my rudeness, Milady,"

"Y/n is fine"

She smiles "Lady Y/n, you of all people know how loved the prince is" she squeals excitedly "everyone in the palace were so excited with the news, so many girls envy you you know"

Y/n smiles softly "The prince and I aren't really dating" she replied and shook her head

"Milady please don't be so modest," She says and stood up to take the dress "wow such a pretty dress," she breathed "Where did you get this Milady?"

She sighs and stood up "The Prince gave it to me" she replies and Hana immediately assisted her "I'm ok, you don't have to help me"

She pouts "It is my job"

       Entering the dining hall all dressed up in the dress is Y/n's first, she looks at Prince Donghyuck who smiles and nods as Prince Jaemin stands to greet the new incomer

"Y/n" he smiles and takes her hand to kiss her knuckles "You look lovely," HE praises "Is that from Hyuck?" A shy nod leaves her and Prince Jaemin smiles slyly at the boy who was watching him and the girl, Jaemin raised a hand and waved him off, Yes, I know she's your bride I won't do anything, it meant.

But in all honesty, Prince Donghyuck was just watching to see if Jaemin was about to do anything that isn't approved by Y/n, he was just worried. She hasn't even agreed to marry him yet.

Prince Jaemin squeezes Y/n's hand so she'll look at him "Don't be shy Y/n," he replies and a smile coats his features "I'm sure Hyuck told you to wear that cause he was excited the secret is out and he can spoil you"

Y/n's eyes widened opening her mouth to speak but Prince Jaemin spoke first "He said this was a gift on your anniversary" he said excitedly leading her to her seat beside Prince Donghyuck

Prince Lucas nodded "What did you get him Y/n?

She was about to reply only to be spoken over by Prince Donghyuck "Can you not?" he asked Prince Lucas, wrapping a protective arm around her waist, making her flinch as he leans down to whisper in her ear making it look like he was keeping her close "Don't say a word"

She obeyed

       Arriving at the palace a little before noon she was greeted by Maids and butlers, ready to assist Prince Donghyuck in whatever he might need

He holds her hand, "follow me" he instructed and lead her through the palace and people, "mother says this is your room now" he informs and sits on the bed

"My prince" she quickly denies and shakes her head "I cannot accept, this is insane"

He laughs and shakes his head "The room is yours, get some rest, my parents took the liberty to fill your closet" he replies and stands up against the door, his hand on the door "Get some sleep, you must've been stressed" he opens the door and leaves

Y/n watches him leave still not done disagreeing with The Royal Families instructions, it wasn't fair, she and the prince aren't dating, they're not engaged, she doesn't deserve this

She sits down on the bed to open the drawer on the white vanity beside her and gasped, in it were different designs of accessories, she couldn't help but become completely enchanted, taking them one by one to examine them.

A beautiful (birthstone) ring was the first thing she saw, taking it and examining it, watching the intricate details swirl and curve around the ring. Next, she saw a pretty and plane necklace, it was a diamond gem, a choker sized necklace that if she wore the gem being pressed right between her collar. While holding the necklace she stands, going to the closet to see the overwhelming amount of dresses, taking them out to carefully inspect and admire them placing one after the other on the soft mattress of the bed, finding comfort on the cold floor right at the floor of the bed, she leans her head against the matress as she thinks, I have to tell them.

She sighs softly, this was all new and stressful and even if the gifts were beautiful, she feels guilty, these weren't for her  they were for Prince Donghyuck's Fiance, she frustratingly ran her fingers through her hair, and closed her eyes at the on coming headache

She didn't mean it, she only meant to close her eyes for a minute, to only rest for a couple of seconds, she didn't mean to be cooped up in the room for a two hour nap, she didn't mean to fall asleep still holding the necklace that when Prince Donghyuck entered to ask her if she wanted to accompany him only to see her asleep, she didn't mean for him to lift her and place her under the covers, she didn't mean for him to clean up the mess she made while she explored the room, she didn't even know it happened 'till she woke up

Opening her eyes and realizing that this wasn't where she fell asleep, she sat up in shock, what happened? who entered the room? Somebody cleaned up? She got cut from her thoughts when she noticed a letter on the vanity table from the prince herself

I hope you didn't mind, I placed you on the bed, you'll get a stiff neck at the position you were on. Rest well, You deserved, the whole ordeal must've been stressful, I know you wanna talk to me, I have a free schedule later around 7 pm, eat dinner with me and lets talk

Y/n's mouth drops open in shock, he was the one that placed her on the bed, did he clean to? please tell me the prince didn't clean up the mess she made. She stood up only to be greeted by Hana as she opens the door

"You're awake, Milady" She smiles and sorts through the closet before Y/n could even process what was happening "Prince Donghyuck has suggested this to be your outfit for the rest of the day Milady"

She blinks, "Um, no thank you, I'm ok with what I'm wearing" She says and moves to go out the door when Hana stops her

"Milady you can't be seen wearing the same thing twice," She reasons holding the dress up so she can see

Y/n examined the dress, it was simple more simple than the red vintage dress she was currently wearing, it was a long dress hat would reach her ankles, the material light and seemed light and cottony, sleeves reaching the wrists, and a cute bow by the collar. It was just a simple casual sundress that had its own belt, she nods and sighs "ok fine, I'll go change"

       She walks through the halls of the palace, going to the tea room, where Hana has informed her where Prince Donghyuck was. Upon arriving she realized that not only was Prince Donghyuck in the room so was the Queen and someone she hasn't seen a long time

"Donghyuck where is Y/n?" the queen asks and looks by the door, making Y/n hide behind the door, "Should we fetch someone to get her?"

Donghyuck was quick to shake his head and deny his mother's suggestion "She's probably asleep let her rest"

The boy she hasn't seen in years smiled happily at the conversation "Hyuck sounds like a caring fiancé its amusing" he laughs and teases Doghyuck with a sly grin "is she the one wearing blue by the door way?"

Y/n froze around the same time, Prince Donghyuck and the queen turn their heads to look "Y/n?" Donghyuck asks

Revealing herself, cheeks slightly tinted red at being caught she bows in greeting "I'm sorry," she replies looking down in embarrassment

Prince Donghyuck stands to hold her hand and land a kiss on her knuckles "Don't be, my love" he says and leads her to sit beside him with her still frozen from the nickname and the action,  "Did you sleep well?"

the boy from earlier giving her tea "I have honestly never seen Donghyuck so smitten," he teases and smiles at her "Nice to finally meet you, Lady Y/n"

She shakes her head and stands "No please, Lord Taeyong" she quickly denies "Don't address me by a title have no right over"

A smile lands on his lips "I like you" he says and pats Donghyuck's back "I approve if her, good job" he stands and bows "I'm afraid I shall keep you calling that Milady, it suits you" he winks and Donghyuck, gently pulls Y/n to sit down "Your Highness" Taeyong speaks to the Queen "After you, I think the two of them would like to have the room for themselves"

The queen giggled, nodding "Oh Taeyong, I was just about to suggest that, you're a lot like my brother in law has anyone ever told you that?"

"I'm afraid so, My Queen" he laughs "He is my father" was the last thing you could hear from the conversation before it faded away and into the hallway

Y/n wasn't paying attention to the Marquees or the Queen only to be focusing on the prince, his blazer long forgotten on the coat rack, but his simple french-cuffed-two-unbuttoned-buttons style was mesmerizing, she realized they have matching colored tops, she blushes slightly

"Are you still adamant about not marrying me?" he wakes her from her thoughts

She blinks then nods "Yes, this isn't meant for me, My Prince, this was for your Fiance and i can't take it"

He sighs and examines her "Two weeks"

"I'm sorry?"

"Give me two weeks of your time and after that I'll tell my mother myself"

"What? No, We have to tell her now"

"Listen, you said you don't want the royal family to suffer because I can't tell her I don't want tp get married yet, right?"

She bites her lip, not answering

"Right?"

"Yes" she whispers

"Then give me two weeks, to figure out a way to tell her how we broke up so you can be free and no one will ask why, and so I can use it as an excuse as to why I wont find a new bride anytime soon"

"What excuse, My Prince?"

"I'll be too busy trying to get over you to find one" he smiles and she tries her best to suppress the warmth of her cheeks at the sight

"That won't work"

"Better than the family getting ridiculed, so, will you give me two weeks my love?"

14: ikebukuro. Durarara took place here. I dont really remember any other distinctive characteristics about this place except there were a lot of cop cars and we ate at a good as fuck cheese place

13: Ueno but its not uenos fault. We got to the zoo at like 1pm and it was so fucking hot they brought all the animals back into their non-public enclosures by like 3pm. There was a japan-pakistan friendship fest and nearby there was an indonesian cafe that i thought was run by a japanese guy who really fuckiny loved indonesia and my girldriend didnt tell me he was literally an indonesian guy until the day after so i literally began believing that all the worlds men could be brothers

12: kichijoji: we travelled like 45 minutes for a blue hamham popup store that was just like a singular shelf in a bookstore (this is fine. many pop up stores are like this) and then after that we went to a restaurant that let me be laid up with my girlfriend while eating eggs with rice but there was like. barely any meat or anything else other than literally eggs with rice. i love egggs and rice but this was a little too real for me.

11: akihabara: extremely demonic location. we went there like 3 times and couldnt find anything cool the first 2 times (i have a brain disease that means i am extremely particular about what Touy i would like) but like after i googled really really fucking hard i found a toy store that mainly has mecha toys and got some transformers. i resent it a lot less now that i know that you just need google really fucking hard and just find some store on the off-street that focuses entirely on some stupid niche bullshit. i wish girls band cry had b etter merch other than acrylic stands (extremely awful type of merchandise i fucking hate acrylic stands so much) and a bunch of t shirts with shit written on them

10: asakusa: i struggle to really remember anything about this shit but we barely spent any time here anyways so

9: shimokita: when we got to the train station there was a huge as fuck bocchi the rock billboard that said WELCOME TO SHIMOKITAZAWA which is fine because the whole time we were going there i was like hey yo do you think bocchi from bocchi the rock will be there hey do you think bocchi the rock will signtheir autograph hey hey. i wish i could have spent more time here and bought more clothes but OH WELL

8: akasaka: we kept passing by this fucken like. wallsticker that was a life size silhouette of what we thought was an anime girl squatting but the silhouette was completely fucking indistinguishable and we didnt know what it was until we went around a corner and saw that it was part of a whole ass harry potter building and part of it was covered by those wallstickers but not of like. harry or whatever it was all miscellaneous beasts and mermaids and robots. i had zero idea of what any of these guys were meant to be cuz all of the silhouettes were extremely confusing and ive never seen any animal or robot or whatever in harry potter. is this what we're really doing now??? are we pretending that harry potter has silhouettes??? thatt it has character designs????

7: harajuku: soooooooooooooo fucking crowded. i wanted to check out like a gorillion thrift shops and sneaker places but this shit is just soooo crowded and such a meme location my girlfriend got overwhelmed after like 3 stores. i got a cool ass jacket im about to start being annoying about irl tho

6: Shibuya: if you go to the Youth Malls and shit you will see a bunch of extremely cheap badly made clothing. nonetheless those clothes will be quite cute and have swag. if you go to the other malls youre gonna see some clothing that will make you look like the bad extremely rich guy in a cyberpunk movie and it WILL costt you 1000 dollars a piece. i kind of wish i could buy a shit ton of clothes here from the latter category but if i ever have that money you should kill me.

5: Shinjuku is crowded. literally every memory of this place i have is blasted out by the fact taht it was very crowded.

4: Sumida: tokyo tower was here and its rpeddy cool but also if youve already lived in a b ig city for an extended period of time the coolness is destroyed by how fucking crowded it is. you will not be able to bask in the vastness of tokyo freakin city or how small everything looks at all. its fine. also there is a toilet at the top of the tower and its fucking insane that they pipe water that far up. if youre in tokyo tower and you have to pee you should just piss yourself. hokusai museumw as good as fuck

3: ginza: expensive. we went to hakuhinkan toy park and hm. every time i see an article thats like YO THIS STORE IS HUGE AS FUCK and we go there and its like. the store IS technically huge but thats cuz its 7 small floors stacked on top of each other i feel a little disappointed. it IS huge dont get me wrong but it doesnt hit as good. we also went to itoya which is a stationary store but it is extremely dedicated to like. guys who scrapbook and write letters with fancy ornamentation nice as fuck and not BITCHES who burn through 10 sketchbooks a year. whatever we got my girlfriend a nice dress here and i finally got to try rare steak (every time i try to get my meat rare in singapore the waiter looks at me weird so i have given up on doing this at home).

2: nakano: i know our waitress was a transgender woman. i know it. also rin literally agreed with me when i said it.

Jimbocho: saurrrrrrrrr fucking good. so many cool bookstores. wish we couldve spent more time here going into alleys and shit. i facking love books with pictures in them. the japanese national museum of modern art had a really nice painting that made me a lil emotional but i cant find a good, high quality image of it on google images :( that shit really hit different irl. also i saw my second live rothko and i still dont get it. sorry.

SOOPER SOOPER SPECIAL TIER: Chiba for wonfest. I actually thought i was gonna die queueing up to enter this shit cuz they makw you wait in a parking lot with no shade or fan or anything and even the queue is ctowded as fuck so everyones body heat is blasting off each other AND it was literally 90 minutes of this shit but once we got in wonfest blew my fucking mind so hard it didnt matter. The industry booths were Fine but the indie halls were legitimately insane. You would just walk for 2 minutes and then randomly encounter like a sculpture or garage kit or whatever that was insanely inspired and then it turned out that the guy who made it is just Some Guy with like 470 twitter followers. I saw so much crazy shit there i legit felt like i was witnessing the aesthetic cutting edge of SOMETHING. I dropped 200 dollars on these insane statues by some chinese guys that were sellinh like anatomical models of humans and bulls and shit and they had a whole thingy explaining how the process for sculpting these was scientifically informed and used 3d scans while also applying a degree of artistic license to establish plane clarity and make them useful reference tools for artists. Actually almost teared up looking at some of the models that shit was beautiful man

Tokyo districts we've visited RANKED:

14. Akibahara: inhospitable for human life. only place in Tokyo where they not only spelled out why they specifically had 24hr surveillance on escalators but they felt the need to put signs reminding you on every available surface. so many signs telling you to Speak Up if you think someone has been molested. genuinely felt like an insane person there but at least my girlfriend found a Transformer there (we did discover that Akibahara is vastly more approachable when you get off the main roads)

13. Harajuku: this one also felt inhospitable for human life but in like an extreme gentrification way instead of like Literally Not Made For Humans way. very weird walking through THe Clothes District and finding no clothes I wanted. almost all of the food vendors were selling extreme overpriced meme foods but we did find a surprisingly good katsudon place

12. Shibuya: the Scramble ! nowhere else in Tokyo played as much Western music. clothes were either Y4k for some shit that looked like it would disintegrate in 5 days or Y20k for like. some canvas with stains on it. a robot served me a mid as fuck highball

11: Asakusa: It was insanely fucking hot the day we happened to be in Asakusa so maybe I'm not judging it entirely on its own merits but kind of an insane area in which to exist. Very touristy (largely towards people natively from Japan/Tokyo) ergo very expensive. Maybe if we had spent longer there I would have liked it more but for now my most vivid memory is of the rickshaws which my girlfriend pointed out were almost exclusively used by Japanese people

10. Ginza: This was not unexpected in any capacity but everything is so expensive here. Ginza was the only location we visited in urban Japan where we could walk for an hour and not encounter either a vending machine or a convenience store. "Do rich people not need to drink" - my girlfriend

9. Kichijoji: We bought Blue Ham Ham here and then ate at one of those restaurants that lets you pick from a selection of raw eggs to eat with rice which was good as fuck

8. Akasaka: kind of nothing here but bars, office buildings, and an entire block dedicated to Harry Potter so we didn't do anything of note here. Yu Gi Oh Curry !

7. Nagano: Pretty unremarkable except for having a mall full of old stuff but we went to some shitty hole in the wall where we were served by someone my girlfriend described as "definitely transgender" the moment we left the restaurant

6. Shimokitazawa: We saw some cool clothes here and like 15 seconds of an indie band playing in a building. Kind of the most insanely hipstery area in Tokyo by a huge margin like astonishingly so. Only time I saw anything be specifically marketed as vegan in Japan

5. Shinjuku: Shinjuku, or at least my personal experience with Shinjuku, is sort of hard to describe. It was the first district in Tokyo that I'd seen after leaving the airport and it imposes this vision of a city that is incomprehensibly vast and dense. I don't think other districts dispelled this image but Shinjuku is by far the most successful at affirming it

4. Ikebukuro: Kinda like Akibahara lite which makes it a lot more tolerable. I could not stop saying "are you inspired with lust for Irish women yet" any time we encountered a location that was even slightly notable. I don't think either myself or my girlfriend ended up buying anything here but we went to a nice restaurant so it all worked out. There's something charming about the police outposts that seem to be present on every 2 blocks and the number of cameras randomly scattered about

3. Ueno: We rly only saw the zoo here (it was mid) but upon stepping out into Ueno park we discovered a Pakistan-Japan Friendship Festival where we watched some women dance and bought some good as fuck sweets

2. Sumida: Quite cutes :) we spent a lot of time wandering around residential areas which always make me feel way more amiable towards an area. Skytree was cool though I probably wouldn't pay for it again. Katsushika Hokusai museum was very cool.

1. Jimbocho/Ochanomizu: We went to the Museum of Modern Art in Tokyo and walked around for 1 million years looking at books and posters and various other items and got some lovely coffee. Wonderful place
