Suklha won't admit it but her hand did hurt from trying to pry open the crown.

It doesn't matter if Tripitaka stopped reciting the mantra to tighten it, theres a difference in wearing a ring thats the perfect size and one that's too tight to get rid off.

Phantom pain comes every so often to Wukong, the expectant pain of the circlet to activate whenever he plans on doing something thats right yet the monk would thought otherwise, continues to chase him.

Breaks him down enough to cry over the person he was supposedly jealous at, to know she's willing to try and alleviate his ailment despite the circlet still stuck on his head. Is a code for Wukong that maybe, theres someone out there that still cares. That would try their damn best to ease his unfortunate fears.

I should probably add- this was after Wukong started his journey and Suklha got betrayed. At first, Wukong seeks her for challenges, persistently urging to combat her. Yet this time, he's coming to her for a moment of distraction. Already fed up with the monk's oblivious attitude, he seeks shelter from his "enemy". Also this is the seed that changed his perspective of her too
