Emily tried to reach me, putting a reassuring and comforting hand on my knee, making me look at her.

Aw they are always so cute, i love how she tried to comfort her.

I could feel the pit in my stomach threatening to swallow every good feeling. I could feel my throat tightening the more the minutes passed, increasing the silence between Dean and I. I could feel my breathing getting heavier as the tension grew. I could feel my body getting colder as I didn’t meet Dean’s green eyes.

Ahhh nooo, stop it!! I'm sure Dean is not really mad at her.

When I thought locking eyes with him could have helped me, it had done the very opposite.

Jesus, i feel so bad for her. They need to talk and fix everything 🥺

Lol, yes. I think they absolutely can.

Watching straight ahead, Dean seemed tense, his back straight as he drove his car. I didn’t like seeing him like this and I silently wondered why he was so uptight. But when a little voice in me told me maybe I was the reason behind it, I shut my eyes to make it quiet, not wanting to fall into this vicious spiral again. 

Stop ittt! I think a hug would help him. Both of them.

I lowered the toilet seat and sat on it, burying my face in my hands, needing to set free the overwhelming emotions inside me. Big tears rolled down my cheeks, my breath alternatively quickened and calmed, from shaky to long and punctuated by my sobs.

Oh 🥺 Dean get your ass there, someone needs you.

“Okay, what’s going on with you?”

Here he is, please don't fight and don't be mad. Thank you 🥲

“Yeah? Then what’s with the no-talking, the no-eating?”

He noticed she was not eating, i'm a bit emotional now 🥹🥹

“God it’s so stupid, Dean… I’m sorry, you didn’t do anything wrong, I just overthought again. It’s not your fault, it’s just my weird brain and I’m so-”

Thinking the reason you're feeling bad is stupid is the worst feeling, really 😮‍💨

“Shut up.” Dean quickly interrupted me and wrapped his arms around my body.

Awwwwww yees 🥺🥰

“I didn’t see it, okay? I didn’t see that you wanted to take my hand or I would have let you, Sweetheart. I’m sorry.” He calmly said and I immediately wrapped my arms around his waist, returning the hug with strength.

Oh finally 🥺

I imitated him and admired the small wrinkles around his pretty eyes.

I wanna admire them too

“So, does this mean you’re going to talk again? I happen to like hearing your voice.”

This is so cute and I'm glad everything is okay between them now! I wonder how long it will last given how things usually go around here 😅

“I was in the bathroom.”

“I was paying for gas.”

Ahahahah now Sam is gonna think they did something else in that bathroom 😁

“I’m hungry.” I explained and he smiled widely at me, as if he was happy to hear that.

“What the hell?”

“Where is everyone?”

😅 I love how she was so focused on the book that she didn't notice that everyone had left the car.

“Taking this.” She answered me with a genuine smile and I couldn’t help but grin in return, making her understand that I was happy she was finally eating something, that she was finally hungry.

Awwww

“Asshole.”

“Oh, I’m sorry Princess. Didn’t see you weren’t ready.”

“I hate you.”

This exchange was so funny 🤣

I love how Jody knew who the girls were right away since she's heard so much about them!

I stepped into the house, finding the familiar shape of my best friend and I tried to swallow when Sam placed himself next to me, Jody sending us a look I didn't want to see.

Ahah, I'm sure Jody knows everything about them!

hi,

I’m sending you this, hoping it might reach someone who can answer my question of how close of an adaption “purple hearts” is — book vs movie …

bc I’ve come across a one star review (readingbookslikeaboss.com/review-purple-hearts-tess-wakefield/) that ripped the source material to shreds and that scared me off the movie a bit (sure, sofia’s a definite pull factor for me but you know, i have some standards).

First of all thank you! Not weird at all, I appreciate you asking.

Unfortunately, I didn't even know Purple Hearts was a book until after I watched the movie, so I can't really answer. Hopefully someone else can though if they see this.

For the movie itself, standing alone?

In terms of story quality, the movie was really well written and the acting was great. In terms of t1d rep, I was really surprised and enjoyed it a lot. However this is not a story about t1d so if you don't know that going in you might feel let down?

Cassie's diabetes is definitely important; her inability to afford her insulin is what kickstarts the plot, but it pretty much stays in the background. It doesn't disappear but it's not a major part either.

Which I loved.

So many stories seem to use diabetes for the drama of a medical emergency and this treated it as just a part of her life. Even when she went low or super high it was pretty realistic given each situation.

I'm sorry I can't be of more help 😔
