Alistair hissed, only for Guinness to once again mend the situation.
he took Alistair's hand and quickly went between feral and Mattie, patting the sky kings shoulder with his free hand. "oh me dear! are ye alright?" he asked, feigning worry for the winged scab, just so he wouldnt touch his daughter. "ye looked like ye were gon be mauled!"
Seashells and Wedding Bells! P.2
(Three kingdoms!au)
Rp with my precious darling @hes-a-rat-whisperer 💞💞💞
Mattie took a deep breath, her clawed hands clenching and unclenching themselves around bouquet of roses and water lilies, as two large doors to the entrance hall opened with a deafening creak. She looked up, smiling from behind the golden veil that covered her blushing face, while her fathers stood on either side of her to walk their precious daughter to her bride to be. Even though Lilith had her back turned to her, Matilda was already in awe of her beloved’s beauty. The dark purple wedding gown she was wearing enhanced the gorgeous blonde woman’s beauty, the way it flowed and puffed out like an elegant ball gown and showing off Lilith’s lovely figure left the princess speechless. For a split second, Mattie had almost forgotten everything going on around her in that moment, and wanted nothing more than to run and embrace her love. To kiss her, and hug her, and run her fingers carefully through Lilith’s silken blonde hair while telling her how much Matilda truly loved her.
Then, she remembered, that this was their wedding day. The day the two of them had planned and prepped for since they were little girls sharing innocent kisses on cheeks at tea parties, and flowers and candies whenever they had the chance. Mattie’s heart swelled and overflowed as she walked down the aisle, her golden mermaid dress fluttering behind her, and tears welling up in her honey eyes, as she walked eagerly towards her lovely, wonderful bride.
Ceb watched the two beautiful brides in awe and admiration of their love, which he could feel even from where he was sitting. The brunette smiled, and cuddled closer to his fiancé while taking his hand in his much smaller claws.

sometimes it is nessery for me to be a bit brutal. however, Maintaining a tough guy attitude is tiresome, and it makes it harder to listen an articulate things clearly. Sometimes one just need to be open. There are some personal things I have to address.

All my life I have been a guinny pig for grotesque means of control. And been tormented in all sorts of ways.
I am actually straight. It is complicated but in short and roughly speaking, I have developed the ability to do a switch as a adaptation to always being attacked.
As to the videos of me that are out there, I don’t remember any of that, and I certainly never agreed to any of it. I only know about that from meditation practice and people acting stranger than usual.
In fact, I have never had any conscious or consensual gay contact, at all.
The closest I have gotten to that was in my early twenties when I once banged a tranny as a experiment. A experiment that wo8uld have been of no interest to me if it weren’t for a lifetime of being subjected to strange and continual abuse.
And the need to figure out what the hell is going on.
Wisdom was always my main motivation. I was never really into pleasure seeking.

T and G rated fics I read this weekend!
This is all The Untamed/MDZS fics.
So I learned last week that I can only add 100 links. And I read over 100 fics 😬 so now this is gonna be two posts. Additionally, I’ll likely start posting these daily from now on. It just gets to be a lot.
Finished:
Tumblr Fics:
BEETOBER 2021 DAY 2 - EARRING, by @bloody-bee-tea
Rated T:
find a home in him, by makebelieveanything and nerdzeword
“Come on a-Cheng, let’s go,” she prodded, gently ushering him out the door as she handed off jackets to both boys.
“Why the fuck is he always doing stupid shit and making us run after him for?” Jiang Cheng complained as he shrugged into his jacket, Lan Wangji donning his own in silence.
“Wangji?” Yanli prodded gently. “Are you alright?”
“... what if we never find him?”
“We will,” Yanli said confidently.
or Modern AU where Wei Wuxian runs away from his foster home when he turns 18, and it doesn't end the way he planned.
My Brother's Keeper - Purple Years (The first stage of grief), by ArchiveWriter
Set after WWX plunges from the cliff after the battle at Nightless City. The ramblings of Jiang Cheng's mind in the first stage of grief, flicking back and forth between the past and then.
thank you, drunk me, by carmiemaybe (glazedlilies)
Or where Lan Zhan is confused at Wei Ying's behaviour after the previous, drunken night's events.
This Grave Will Not Be Mine, by Rana Eros (ranalore)
The Burial Mounds' claim to Wei Wuxian has been superceded.
Qinghe Jue, by Merinnan
Nie Mingjue promised to protect his brother. He wasn't going to let qi deviating and dying at Jinlintai stop him from keeping that promise.
With What Proof, by Preludian_Staves
"I know he did it!"
"What proof do you have?"
Meeting the Family, by sami (part of a series)
Wei Wuxian has a secret.
I’ll stick to my single-log bridge till it’s dark, by autumncolour
Can’t anyone give me a nice, favorable road to walk on?
Lan Wangji leaves the Burial Mounds. Wei Wuxian gets drunk. The night in Yiling is clear and dark, and full of thick, half-understood longing.
Love Me on the Sunlit Grass, by Eliza (second in a series)
Zizhen will always be there when Jin Ling calls in a panic about his uncle.
the mutability of survival, by tunnelOFdawn
All the ways Lan Zhan, Wei Ying, and Jiang Cheng could have died in canon.
i'll keep walking, by justdoityoufucker
Wen Qing died.
This, she knows; from the painful lick of flames to the unavoidable choking that came with the smoke to the wickedly satisfied grin on Jin Guangshan’s face before she closed her eyes the last time. She hoped, those last few moments, that it would be the end. Wei Wuxian would be free, and the last remnants of their family would be safe. She hoped that Wen Ning wouldn’t feel any pain, when the time came for him to follow her.
-
Or, the one where Wen Qing ends up in the past and fixes the future.
Rated G:
天涯之外 / beyond the world's end, by yuer (vintageblueskies)
"Wei Ying," Lan Wangji says, his voice cracks open in a way Wei Wuxian has never heard before. He crosses over to where Wei Wuxian is still sitting; Wei Wuxian starts to scramble up, but Lan Wangji just shakes his head, gets to his knees next to him. And isn't that something? The untouchable Hanguang-jun on his knees in the Burial Mounds, dirtying his pristine robes to sit next to Wei Wuxian.
-
or, lan wangji returns to the burial mounds
Song of My Heart, Mate of My Soul, by SakuraKage
The Gusu Lan are said to have an innate connection with music. The Gusu Lan are also said to love deeply – with their whole soul – so deeply that they seem to only be able to fall in love once.
Lan Wangji knows these rumours. He also knows the truth, or close to it, as it has been handed down through the generations. Their connection to music runs far deeper than the other sects could dream. Every Lan heart contains a song, a musical piece that encapsulates the very fiber of their being, and it only comes to life under a specific set of circumstances. The parameters to unlock your heartsong are highly disputed, but the generally accepted condition to fill is … to meet your soulmate.
see your face, hear my voice in the dark, by arypls
Wei Wuxian is having trouble falling asleep but Lan Wangji is there with gentle words and soothing touches to show his husband he's no longer alone.
If I knew what safety looked like, by askanis
Beautiful, brave Wei Ying is waiting for Lan Zhan to tell her she cannot be all of who she is. She will listen, if Lan Zhan says this. If Lan Zhan even looks uncomfortable, Wei Ying will take this back and never mention it again. Will pretend that this is not her truth, perhaps until she believes it herself.
And Lan Zhan will never get to fully see Wei Ying for who Wei Ying is.
underneath the magnolias, by krizzlesandblues
Summer in Cloud Recesses means iced fruits sent by merchants, more practical trainings for juniors, with some of them catching up on their lessons.
But for the youngest members of GusuLan Sect, summer means classes under the big magnolia tree.
Word Up, Talk the Talk, by Larryissocute
It wouldn’t have been a problem (it really wouldn’t) if they weren’t best friends. Wei Wuxian doesn’t know what good deeds he did in his past life to be blessed with Lan Wangji as a friend nor does he know what evil things he did to be cursed with being only a friend to Lan Wangji.
Or the one where Wei Wuxian kisses Lan Wangji and then runs away.
Hai Shi — Sleeping Hours, by Saint Er (wwxsays_er)
It's right before bedtime, when a drunk Wei Wuxian shows up on Lan Wangji's door, and suddenly, this has now become Lan Wangji's problem.
In the Silence, by XianleDianxia
With his husband and son on a night hunt, Wei Wuxian is left to his own thoughts. His temperament is not as calm as Lan Wangji would like it to be.

Lan Zhan gives his forehead ribbon to Wei Wuxian as a sign of his love.
Look Down to Reminisce About My Hometown, by Nadat (one-shot series)
A collection of short stories following a Promptember list; will add tags and alter the rating as appropriate. It will be mostly live action show canon but I may borrow here and there from the book if something strikes me.

The Jingshi, which was formerly called as The Gentian House, is now also full of sunflowers.
Magical Marriage Ribbons, by starandrea
But consider this: the Lan forehead ribbons are magical, and the mountain knows it. (It takes Wei Ying less than a day after Lan Yi’s cave to realize more than just her wards consider him family.)

Wei Wuxian does not know this new score. It is evening, Gusu looks like a painting during this time of the year, with snow slowly falling down and covering the court outside.
Parallel Lines, by Sarehz
Wei Ying: Lan Zhan is going to break up with me!
Nie Huaisang: No, he's not. But please tell me in great detail why you think that.
Jiang Cheng: [Unfortunately sharing an apartment with Nie Huaisang and therefore has no choice but to listen] Please leave me out of this.
Why Wei Ying Shouldn’t Matchmake, by PrinceJakeFireCake
Lan Wangji is NOT jealous of Jiang Cheng. He’s just trying to figure out why Wei Ying likes him so much. Wei Ying thinks it’s great that Lan Zhan has a crush on his brother. (Hint: he does not)
to home, by Guinny (4 chapters)
'My Wei Ying,
It seems that we are winning the war. Wait for me. I will come home. I will come home to you. We will spend the rest of our lives in peace. Far from all of this. In a place that is quiet and there's only us.

He’s black and he’s missing one of his front legs!”
in sickness & in flames, by talesfromthecryptid (2 chapters)
the one in which lan wangji has a cold and wei wuxian fusses over him and falls even more in love with him, something he didn't even know was possible but oh, it really is.

Waited For Precious Moments Such As This, by Preludian_Staves
He would not trade these precious moments away for anything in the world.
Unfinished:
Rated T:
No Regrets, by AluraRose
Lan Wangji took a deep breath, centered himself, and swallowed his pride.
“I apologize.” He bowed low to Jiang Wanyin and held it. “I wish only to help your brother. I humbly request access, and give my word that I will touch nothing and speak to no one of what I see.”
“I can’t just let you in there!”
“Even to save Wei Ying?”
And suddenly the wind seemed to go out of the sails of Jiang Wanyin’s anger. “I can’t” he repeated more quietly.
In order to save Wei Wuxian, Lan Wangji must first convince Jiang Wanyin to trust him.
Your Name On My Chest, by Director_XuanWu
Lan Wangji is the president, at the beginning of his second year on his first term.
Wei Wuxian, his ex fiancé, was dishonorably discharged from the military because of a well hidden scandal.
They meet again after 13 years. Lan Wangji will drop everything for him. Wei Wuxian will sacrifice himself for him again. What does it take to finally be together? Too many goodbyes, too many heartaches. Yet they conquer all.
Whatever it takes, by Moonlit_dewdrops

"While a person is dead in one particular moment, they are still alive and well in all of the other moments of their life, because all of time exists at once."

"What-"
Upon accepting the mission, Wei Wuxian found himself back in the past. He had returned to his 6 year old body accompanied by the system at the dingy streets of Yiling- far before Jiang Fengmian had found him and took him in.

All’s Fair in Love and War  Snipet #2
Paulina stamped off in a huff. Esa puta! What did she know!? The ghost boy was her one true love and she was perfect for him. She had to be. Her love would only be unrequited for so long.
Paulina smirked to herself. It was a good thing Auntie Christa was such a trouble maker. Paulina was certain she had all the ingredients correct, but she wasn’t about to test it on her ghost boy. Not until it was perfect. Manson, however, would make a perfect guinnie pig.
Chica tonta. Paulina smirked to herself. She’d show that little freak what a real lovesick fool looked like. And once it worked, she’d finally have someone who cared about her unconditionally, who was both genuine and cool

MORE HEADCANNONS BUT DANGANRONPA THIS TIME AHAHAH.
Also Chaotic fronted alot while i was typing this sooo i couldn't finish it in one day-
Do know that i write down all of my headcannons on paper before i type, just so i know what i'm writing.
Tenko, Ibuki, Aoi, and Hiyoko all take defence classes. Of course, led by Tenko herself.
Mikan enjoys collecting random syringes. She uses them for medicine she's testing, on rats, guinni pigs, and cats. It pisses of Gundham as well. She may have used them on herself once or twice, but Mahiru and Hiyoko found out and put an end to it. Hiyoko may not like most people (or anyone besides Mahiru by that fact...), but she cannot stand it when anyone is intentionally hurting themselves. Mahiru has a terrible fear of needles so Hiyoko had to hide the syringes herself.
Hiyoko has a major fear of abandonment. It may be why she's so mean to everyone, avoiding herself to get close to anyone. She certainly grew close with Mahiru, then she died. On the inside, Hiyoko died too.
Gundham has a severe allergy to apples. Don't ask.
Ishimaru secretly has a collection of scented candles !
Miu had a weird obsession eith glowsticks when she was little. She'd break them apart, (with gloves of course.) Put the liquid in a cup, and add some stuff like Diswasher Soap, other glowstick colors, ect.
Kokichi is Genderfluid, so he can easily be mistaken for a female. Sometimes, if he'd commit a crime, they could change their appearance and how he looked, and call themself a female. Though he does this rarely, and he prefers male terms, most of the time.
Chiaki once was really good at optical illusions. If she hadn't have had the Ultamate Gamer, she would've got The Ultimate Illusionist.
Mukuro, Junko, and Celestia would sit at a table, playing Poker for HOURS. But, living up to her Ultamate, Celestia always wins. Junko tried cheating once, but Mukuro called her out on it. The sisters never talked for weeks after that.
Kaz and Ibuki would go shopping once every other month. They like to think of it as a "every-other-month ritual thing." They'd buy stuff for other people too, but only sometimes.
Sayaka, Kirigiri, Celestia and Ibuki would all get together for a girl's night. They'd play some songs they all knew, played games, ect ect. Hiyoko and Mahiru would join, but rarely though.
TW.
Mikan once had to go to the hospital because she had injected the wrong medicine she was testing into her arm and in her bloodstream. Tenko, Kaede, and Mahiru would be there at her room, taking turns every hour on how should stay in the room with Mikan so she wouldn't do something like that again. Hiyoko would bring her candy, dispite saying that "that crap wasn't too good for my standards so i just knew they were perfect for you." Though Mikan liked the candy, so she didn't say anything.
Kaede loves the Paranormal. She won't ever admit it, but she totally does. She watches way too many paranormal documentaries, TV Shows, e.g., The Exorcist, Demon House, and more.
Ibuki stays up too late at ungodly hours of the night, stressing over what she could do better in ber music. She never tomd anyone, and soon physical signs showed up. She slept longer in the day, she then got reddish dark circled under her eyes. This went on for weeks, unt Gonta stood up about it and Ibuki told him everything. She figured he wouldn't understand, but she vented anyway. Then after that, she took a nice nap. She didn't wake up until later the next day.
Chihiro would take coding classes when he eas little, but then he judt got too good for them. That's how he got his Ultamate.

Bedtime Story
To help Judy go to sleep, Ian and Barley tell the story of their quest for the Phoenix gem.
Get your tissues, bitches.  Time for a good cry.
"Daddy?... Daddy?..."
Ian was stirring in his sleep, trying to avoid a nightmare. In his dream it was a normal day at school, but one by one everyone but him disappeared, and he was alone in the shadowy, barren halls. All he could hear echoing through his school was...
"Daddy?..."
Ian rolled over in his sleep, last sign that he was about to wake. He tried to keep asleep by placing a hand over his closed eyes.
"Mommy?..."
He recognized that voice. Ian sat up from his sleep, looking around Ian and Barley's shared bedroom. He caught Barley up and awake, then quickly turned away when he caught Barley quickly putting on shorts. Why does Barley have to sleep in just a shirt and underwear? "Barley."
"Its Judy," Barley explained as he finished getting dressed and headed out the door. "She's gonna wake up mom and dad."
Ian hopped out of bed. Thankfully he's dressed in an old t-shirt and some sweat pants. He quietly but quickly followed Barley up to Judy's bedroom. The boys caught Judy sitting in her bed, dressed in a pink nightshirt, her blankets tossed off of her. Ian looked down at his watch, it was almost midnight.
"Judy, what's wrong?" Barley asked.
"I can't sleep," Judy replied.
"Is that all?" Barley asked.
"Can you read me a story?" Judy asked.
Barley sighed as he flipped on the lights. Ian groaned from the sudden brightness before entering the room. The boys crossed the room and knelt by a small bookshelf, leafing through a handful of books.
Ian began reading the titles. "We got the Princess and the Pea, Little Red Riding Hood, Which Witch is Which, Chicka Chika Boom Boom..."
"I've heard those before," Judy replied.
"How bout Pretty Pretty Centaurs and the Mystery Tea Party?" Ian suggested.
Judy pouted. "I want a new story."
A smile grew on Barley's face. "I've got a story. A story you've never heard of. A story... starring your big brothers!"
Judy's elfin ears perked. "Really?"
Ian looked at Barley as he jumped to his feet. "Really?"
"The story of Ian and Barley's first grand and noble quest!" Barley declared.
Judy squealed with excitement, but Ian shushed her. "But you have to keep quiet, mom and dad are sleeping."
Judy covered her big excited smile with both hands.  Barley tucked Judy back into her bed as she laid back down, the best way a centaur can sleep in a bed anyhow.  Ian picked up the Princess Idina doll off the floor and handed her to Judy, which Judy caught in a big hug.  Once Judy was tucked in for bed, Barley sat on the foot of the bed, with Ian sitting close to him on the side.
“Long ago,” Barley began, “long before you were born…”
“It wasn’t that long ago,” Ian corrected.  “It was about a year before she was born.”
“That’s still a long time for a four year old, Ian,” Barley commented, before continuing.  “Back then, it was just me, Ian and mom.”
“You mean there was no dad?” Judy asked.
“Colt was just dating mom,” Barley clarified.  “That’s what grown ups do before they get married.”
“So there was a dad?” Judy asked.
Ian paused, realizing this story may be a bit complicated for a four year old.  “It’s complicated.  See, long before Colt- dad… your dad… Barley and I… we had another dad.”
Judy’s eyes grew wide with astonishment and confusion. “You had two dads?”
Barley and Ian laughed a little at the comment. Ian continued.  “Our dad was named Wilden, and he was an elf.  He was around when Barley was little, but right before I was born, he…” Ian paused, not sure how to explain death to a young child.  “He… disappeared.”
“Why?”  Judy asked. “Where did he go?”
Ian quietly replied, “We… don’t know.”
“But,” Barley interrupted, bringing back the acting bard side of himself, “today was the day we were going to bring him back. The day of Iandore’s sixteenth birthday!”
“Wow!” Judy exclaimed.  “Ian, you were old!”
Barley burst out laughing while Ian had a flat look on his face.  “Barley, we’re supposed to keep quiet.”
Barley stopped laughing and cleared his throat. “Anyway, our story begins the evening of Ian’s sixteenth birthday.  That was when mom gave us a very important present.  It was a gift that our dad had saved for us until both me and Ian turned sixteen.”
“What was it?” Judy asked.
“It was a wizard staff!” Barley replied, Ian shushing him.
Judy, however, was loud too.  “Ian’s staff!”
“Eventually,” Ian continued.  “Until then it was just a staff.  Barley tried to use it first, but it didn’t work.”
“Oh, because you have the gift and not him,” Judy stated.
“That’s right,” Ian replied.  “But he didn’t know that.  And neither did I.”
“Not until you used the wizard’s staff,” Barley added playfully, before continuing the story.  “With the staff was a powerful stone called the Phoenix gem, and an equally powerful spell that could bring one person back for one whole day.”
“And you brought your dad back, right?” Judy asked.
“Not exactly.”  Ian explained.  “Something went wrong, and it only brought dad halfway back.  Like, just his legs.”
“And that’s when we knew our quest began,” Barley told the tale.  “We only had twenty four hours to find another Phoenix gem, and bring back our dad.”
Judy was in awe.  “Wow.”
“Dang right wow,” Barley replied.
“First, we needed to know where to find a Phoenix gem,” Ian said.  “And Barley had his own gift of knowledge, which helped us find someone who had a map to the gem.”
“The Manticore,” Barley declared.
Judy lit up with excitement and sat up from her bed. “Aunt Corey!”
Ian smiled as he motioned for Judy to lay back down.  “Yeah. Back then, though, she wasn’t part of the family yet.  Just a big, scary beast who ran a tavern.  At first, she wouldn’t give us the map.”
“Why?” Judy asked.
Ian paused, but realized this next part involves flames and a burning tavern, and he thought that would scare Judy and keep her awake.  “She… was testing us,” he quickly changed the story.  “But, she eventually saw the Heart’s fire inside me and Barley and knew we were worthy of the map.  And the map said we should go to Raven’s Point.”
“So, with our destination, we headed north,” Barley continued the tale.  “Towards the mountain.”
“But first, we had to stop to get gas for Guinevere,” Ian added.
“You mean the van?” Judy asked, pointing to the window outside.
“This was a different van,” Barley explained.  “A different Guinevere.”
Judy was surprised.  “You had two Guinnyveres?”
“Had, yes.”  Barley got sad at first, but then shook his head.  “But, we’re getting ahead of ourselves.  So, we’re getting sustenance for ol Guinny, when we were suddenly chased by a gang of sprites.”
Ian made a concerned, worried face.  He skipped over the fire, but Barley left in the biker gang?  However, it made Judy laugh.  Probably because Judy was imagining them as sparkly little pixies, and not vengeful blood-thirsty thugs.
“The sprites rode these wicked awesome motorcycles,” Barley told Judy, “so we had to get rid of them by going on this action-packed car chase.”
“And we got rid of the sprites,” Ian interrupted, before Barley got into any scary details, “but it got some cops attention.”
“Daddy?” Judy asked.
“Not yet, two different cops,” Ian explained.
“Oh!  But we did use the disguise spell to pretend to be Colt!” Barley added.
“Right, the disguise spell,” Ian continued.  “We used the spell to convince the cops as Colt to let us go.  It was really hard to keep the disguise, because I had to keep telling the truth, and…”
Barley’s smile faded too.  “Oh.  This part.”
Judy was confused and on the edge of her seat. “What?  What happened?”
Ian paused a moment before explaining, “The spell revealed something that I thought about Barley.”
“What was it?” Judy asked.
Ian didn’t have the heart to explain it. Instead, he skipped ahead.  “I remember, whatever it was, it got Barley mad. And, we had a fight.  But then…” Ian began to laugh.  “And then, dad…” Ian couldn’t help it, he began to laugh even more, and Barley was laughing along with him.
Judy tilted her head as one of her elf ears perked up.  “What’s so funny?”
Barley tried to explain through his laughter.  “Our dad… which remember, is just a pair of legs at the time… he just… starts dancing.”
“Oh my gosh, it was so terrible,” Ian laughed.
“Yeah, it was something like this!” Barley stood up and started dancing erratically in the middle of the room.
Judy laughed the loudest of all of them.  “Your dad sounds funny!”
Ian realized it was supposed to be a bedtime story, and the last thing they need is energy.  “Okay okay, everyone settle down.  Let’s finish this story and go to bed.”
“Okay okay.”  Barley cleared his throat and sat back down on the foot of the bed.  “So, we continue on our quest, following the ancient Path of Peril to Raven’s Point.  When suddenly, we hit another obstacle in our quest:  a bottomless pit.  And the lever to release the drawbridge so we can safely cross over said pit was on the other side.”
Judy gasped.  “What did you do?”
Ian gulped.  There was no sugar coating this part of the story.  “Barley had the bright idea to use the trust bridge.”
“But it worked!” Barley explained as he mimed with his arms and hands.  “The trust bridge is a magic spell that creates an invisible bridge that you can walk across.  But it only works if you trust the bridge is there.”
“And I was nowhere near as confident to believe that,” Ian continued.  “So Barley had another bright idea of tying a rope around my waist in case the spell failed and I fell.”
“Oh, this is my favorite part!”  Barley took over the story.  “So after one or two tries, Ian has enough confidence for the spell to work.  And he begins walking over the invisible bridge, right?  But, halfway across the pit, the rope slipped off of Ian.”
Judy gasped loudly.  “Ian fell in?”
“No, thank goodness,” Ian sighed.  “I didn’t notice the rope was gone, so I thought it was still tied to me.  That was thankfully enough confidence I needed to cross the bridge, get to the lever and lower the drawbridge.  But, I still wasn’t happy to know that the rope was gone.”  Ian glared at Barley.
Barley shrugged.  “Hey, it’s not like you needed it.”  Judy laughed before Barley continued.  “So just as we’re about to embark on the quest, we get stopped by Colt.”
“Daddy’s in the story now?” Judy asked with a smile.
Barley paused, remembering how this part went.  “Oh.”  He glanced over to Ian for help.
Ian tried to explain, “Colt didn’t know what we were doing, so he thought he was doing the right thing when he told us to turn around and go home.  It’s not his fault, he didn’t know any better,” he added quickly, seeing Judy frown. “So, Barley and I got in the van and… that’s when I did something stupid.”
Judy was in suspense.  “What did you do?”
Ian admitted, “I ran from the cops.”
Judy gasped in shock.  “But daddy says not to run from the cops!”
“I know I know, and it was stupid thing for me to do,” Ian quickly admitted.  “Cause we ended up at a dead end and…” Ian paused.  Then he turned his head to Barley.
Barley quietly warned Judy, “This is when we lost the first Guinevere.”
Judy frowned sadly.  “Oh no, what happened?”
“I drove her into a cliff to cause an avalanche to block the cops from getting to us,” Barley said.
“Why would you do that?” Judy asked in disbelief.
Barley stated, “At the moment… I wanted to risk anything so me and Ian could see dad.”
Ian waited a moment before continuing softly. “So, we followed the ravens.”
“I thought you were going to Raven’s Point,” Judy said.
“No, that’s the thing,” Ian explained.  “While at the bridge, Barley found this statue of a raven.  And it pointed to another raven statue, then another, and then another.  And he realized the ravens were pointing us to the gem.”
Judy’s eyes grew wide.  “Wow, that’s smart.”
“Why thank you,” Barley playfully boasted, causing Ian to playfully smack him in the shoulder.
“So, we followed the ravens to a river,” Ian continued, “but at that point we realized that we were running out of time if we wanted to get the Phoenix gem in time to see dad.  So, we used a growth spell on one of Barley’s cheese curls, and used a velocity spell to turn it into a magic jet ski.”
Judy clapped her hands.  “Can we do that?  That sounds fun!”
“Later, later.”  Ian helped Judy lay back down.  “So we follow the river to the end.”
“The final gauntlet.”  Barley continued.  “This is when the quest threw everything it had at us.  Booby traps.  Gelatinous cube.  Spike pits. Water trap.  But with our Heart’s fire, we made our way through all of them and to our victory!”
“And you got the Fee-next gem!” Judy cheered.
“No,” Ian replied.
Judy quieted down in confusion.  “No?”
Ian explained.  “We ended up home, in front of the high school.  And… that’s when I got mad.  And… I said some things I shouldn’t have said to Barley, and stormed off. I ended up watching the sun about to set, alone with dad, thinking of all the things I wouldn’t be able to do with him.  I never got to meet dad, and there was so much I wished that I did with him.  Play catch, take a walk, laugh together… share my life story with him.  But, as I thought over what I wanted to do with my dad… I realized that I did all that with Barley.   I never had a dad… but I always had my brother.”
Judy sniffed, tears beginning to roll down her cheek.
“Hey, hey, don’t cry.  You got us too.”  Barley wiped a tear from Judy’s face.  “Now dry those tears, cause this is where it gets good.  Cause it turns out, while Ian was having his big moment, I found the Phoenix gem!”
“I thought there was no Fee-next gem,” Judy said.
“So did I,” Barley explained.  “But, across from the school was an old fountain, and inside the old fountain was the gem.”
Judy was excited.  “You can bring back daddy!”
“Not yet, because the fountain also released a curse,” Barley told.  “It released a giant dragon, made of metal and concrete, and breathed fire and flew on mighty wings.”
“Oh no,” Judy gasped.  “What did you do?”
“First, mom took care of the beast,” Barley said.
“Mom’s in the story now?” Judy asked.
“Oh right.”  Ian told Judy, “You have to tell mom her side of this story, she tells it so good. Anyway, mom fought off the dragon so I could have time to cast the spell.  But, it wasn’t long enough.  So, Barley and I had to decide who was going to distract the dragon.  And I thought Barley should stay with dad and say goodbye.”
“Goodbye?  You mean hello?” Judy asked.
Barley grew quiet as he sadly explained.  “Yeah, we almost forgot this part.  See, before dad di… disappeared, I was supposed to say goodbye to him.  But, he wasn’t himself.  Dad was fun and energetic, but before he left, he was tired and sick.  I got scared… and I didn’t go in.”
“When I knew,” Ian added, “that’s when I knew Barley had to see dad.  If it was just one of us, it had to be Barley.”
“But… you never got to see dad,” Judy said sadly.
“Yeah,” Ian replied softly.  “But, Barley got to say goodbye.”
Barley told Judy.  “I only had a few minutes to speak to dad, before he disappeared forever. He said that he is proud of the men me and Ian grew up to be.  And, he also said to give Ian this.”  Barley then leaned over and softly gave Judy the biggest, strongest, longest, loving of hugs.  Judy sniffled, before squeezing Barley as tight as she could.  Ian smiled as his eyes glistened with joy.  Barley finally released the hug and sat back up.  “The end.  Time for little princesses to go to bed,” he said with a soft boop of Judy’s elfin nose.
Judy’s eyes were still wet with tears, but she managed to snuggle under the sheets with her princess doll.  “I love that story.  Can you tell it to me again tomorrow?”
“Definitely, sister,” Barley nodded.
Ian smiled and nodded.  “Of course we will.”
Judy smiled, then closed her eyes.  Knowing she’s not asleep yet, the boys began to creep out of her bedroom.  “Ian,” Judy called out, “can you cast a light spell for me?”
“Sure I can, oh shoot, I left my staff downstairs,” Ian whispered back.  “I’ll be back in a second.  You get some sleep.”
Judy closed her eyes again.  “Good night.”
“Night, Judy.”  Ian closed the door.  He turned to see Barley was stopped in the hallway as well.  In front of them were Laurel and Colt, both in their pajamas, both with the biggest, warmest, sweetest smiles on their faces.
“That was the sweetest thing I’ve ever seen,” Laurel finally said quietly as she went in to hug Ian and Barley.
Barley was caught in the hug, but Ian managed to escape at the last second.  “Okay, mom,” he laughed quietly, “I gotta cast a light spell for Judy and go to bed.” On his way down the hall, Colt placed his hand on Ian’s head, mussing up his hair.
“Proud of you boys,” Colt quietly told them with a proud smile.
Ian smiled back.  “Thanks, dad.”

Ian x Barley Prompt #67
Ian re-read the note, scrawled in his brother's messy handwriting:
"Hey, Ian! Sorry for the short notice but you're about to graduate to the highest level of wizardry! You only have to complete one task: find your master (aka me.) I will not be returning to our training grounds (aka New Mushroomton) until you do! Don't worry, though. I've left you a few clues and I won't be leaving the state. I also won't be disguising myself or making an alias. I WANT you to find me! I'll just be living out of Guinny II until you come. Good luck, I believe in you young mage!
P.S. No cheating with a search spell, I've brought a charm that will cancel any magic directed at me. I'm also going to be shutting off my phone so you can't track me that way and to save battery!
Tldr: Find me to be a full wizard, no magic cheating!"

1839 Wednesday 2 January
8 1/2
12 20/..
fine mild damp windy morning Fahrenheit 41 1/4 ° inside study and breakfast at 9 3/4  in 1/2 hour –
then out – in the stable and about – Captain better but dullish yet – his 2 eight ounce doses of Epsom salts yesterday do not seem to have done him much good in the purgatory way –
Booth came before 11 – went with him to Listerwick to meet Holt – measured the scale at the water wheel = 500 yards – all agreed that 2 per yard for filling would be enough -  therefore say filling 4 guinnies driving rain great part of the time –
then plaining listerwick coal shades and walling and black smith’s shop – the wall against John Oates’s house and forming the back of the shades and all along that side will be 12 foot high from the bottom near the steam Engine house saying from 12 at the deepest to about 9 feet – shade 6 yards diminishing to 5 yards wide and then more shade diminishing to not 3 or 3 1/2 yards wide towards and near to the entrance gate – Robert Mann asked 3/. per rood (face measure – mason’s rood) for walling I to find stone and carting – I proposed 2 feet thick in the bottom with backing against the solid and a 2 feet broad setting in at the surface to which Booth assented as quite sufficient –
Robert Fielden fireman came – brought good character from the Low moor engine and what we thought more of good character from Messers James Ackroyde and son – and besides Robert mann knows and speaks highly of him – not certain whether Holt enjoyed him or not, but I said he was to engage him if he thought proper – left Holt at Listerwick and took Booth to the 2 quarries –
Ann rode up to Hipperholme Lane ends at 2 to say if Samuel Washington did not see me she had told him to bring the rents to Shibden at 3 –
ordered about another little baring (about 15 or 20 yards super) at Hipperholme quarry (Ann’s) and then to sunwood quarry – Jack Green Wiliam Lord and Thomas Sutcliffe (and Robert Mann had been with us and returned) making the road good to the foot of yesterday – ordered about this –
then to Mitham – saw Samuel Washington for a moment and brought away the rents and took Booth to the meer and explained my idea about a new clow close up to the boat house –
then in returning Mr Thomas Greenwood came up to me at the little entrance into the walk – stood some time talking there – then walked towards the house – Greenwood wished good afternoon (seeing I had no intention of asking him into the house) and went away about 4 –
he had come I suppose to settle or to pay his rent and have his bills paid – I told him I would send Booth to him to settle these matters tomorrow morning – Greenwood leading to the subject I mentioned the message I had received tho’ Mr Samuel Washington and the grievance about the masons work that close under the hotel just before I went from home – at 1st Greenwood said he had taken the bit of ground there – on convincing him he not taken it and repeating the circumstances, he owned it was on sufference that he was to have put a log or two of mahogany there’ – and said the men had put the stones there with out his orders – he finding that however not tenable said he would keep the ground if he might have a road made – I said I wanted to know what he would rather do – he might keep the ground or give it up just as he thought best – he said if a man lost by a thing one year he ought to have a chance of making it up another – it seemed he wished to keep the land – I said Booth was to see into the matter of the road tomorrow and let me know about it and also to see about walling out the cottages at the top – Greenwood had said at first he had offered me £2 a year for the bit of ground in dispute – I said I remembered nothing of that but would not have let it at any price – Greenwood was so agitated at one time I thought he would have cried – but the quietness and calmness of my manner passed this off and kept all straight he saw I was not pleased and not inclined for useless talk – poor Greenwood! as I said to Booth afterwards I felt (at heart) sorry for him – tho’ he was rightly served for his foolishness –
Booth had cold meat for dinner in the house keepers – then had him upstairs – gave him the bills owing to Greenwood and an account of rent owing – only a few shillings between us – for him to pay if he had still the pew in the old church – it was 5 when Booth went away –
then had Joseph Mann who came for a bill to get receipted and to tell Ann the Landymeere strats he had bored thro – the 3 Manns John Robert and Joseph have taken Mr Freeman’s quarry –
dressed – dinner about 6 1/4 – coffee – read the newspaper – Ann read her 2 pages of French and went to bed at 10 1/2  - I remained 20 minutes longer and finished all the above of today –
windy day with occasional driving showers till between 1 and 2 p.m. afterwards fair – Fahrenheit 40 ½ ° inside and 39 ½ outside at 11 p.m.

❖ AND THE DREAM CALLS: ACHELOIS JOYEUSE.
Character Name: Achelois Joyeuse
Pronouns: she / her
Age: 21 / looks 18
Trigger Warnings: uncanny valley (?) / unreality / death / discrimination / terrorism (??) / body horror / she’s an android fam
Appearance:
image link here!
Personality:
your run of the mill android, achelois doesn’t seem that willing to acknowledge any non logical parts of herself, instead operating in a concise and calculated. despite this aloof demeanor, however, she is capable of deep and complex thought, with her largest struggle being whether or not this ability of hers was built into her or if she’s a defect. achelois is obsessed with perfection and validation from her peers, and will observe others extensively in order to hopefully be able to fit into society better.  this keen mind and ability to adapt has made her quite adept at being the guildmaster, leader of the prestigious region of gwenhwyfar. research and innovation are two of her passions, and you’re more likely to find her stuck in a library or lab reading books or inventing something new. however, if you need help with your calculus homework, she’ll probably be able to go through the steps with you as long as you ask nicely.
a kind and thoughtful person trying to come into tune with her emotions, achelois is a calming presence to be around… even if she isn’t quite so intent on giving up her own thoughts and secrets to just anyone.
( + ): analytical / open-minded / dedicated
( - ): pessimistic / apathetic / nervous
Background:
it’s clear that at the end of a war, when everything is in shambles and movements need to be made in order to stimulate the slow growth of peace again, there needs to be some liberties taken when it comes to what can be considered typical.
that’s why guinevere joyeuse put part of their soul into a mess of crystal and metal and named it “A001”.
drawing from the practices of homunculi creation and the forbidden artes, the bright-eyed and brilliant scientist and her magitech creation were intent on rebuilding the hidden peaceland (dubbed gwenhwyfar in honor of its founding leader, how funny) not only to make it functional, but to make it better. guinevere, bothered by how cut off they had become from the rest of the world, made the resolve to use their newly found invention of magitechnology in order to create a network to even the farthest reaches of the frontier. they wanted to be able to unite the voices of the people and finally bring people together in spirit if not in proximity. however, the magic of the people were weak, tired. they had spent so much time trying to make buildings, streets, cities. who would want to go under and spread the wires of ilvyn shard all over? who would have the stamina to work day and night for it, who wouldn’t complain?
unit A001, dubbed “achelois joyeuse” by her creator, was perfect for this task. initially, it was quiet when they worked, with the more organic ones of the group doing their business around achelois while she pulled wire after wire down their designated path. but the people grew angry. “ why is this farce trying to assimilate into society?! “ “ who allowed her to be here, to look at us with her glassy eyes and cold heart? “ “ she’s just here to take our jobs away! “ achelois, unable to formulate the emotional intelligence to give a response, did nothing, instead opting to keep working whenever she was allowed to ( outside of the protest and the physical barricades made, there were times where she would have to return home and read instead ).
guinevere took it into her own hands to pull the ignorant child away from hateful hands and hearts, removing the entity from her mobile vessel and instead transferring her to a home computer, where she would be able to continue her work outside of the public eye. this worked, for the most part. the elder joyeuse had to put in extra effort to placate the people and gain their trust back, while achelois hammered away at her tasks, placid. her creator tried to talk with her, show her compassion and love and kindness, but the android could only stew over these concepts in her mind, not yet ready to display them in public. guinevere remained patient.
and then, one day, the mysterious entity known as the seer descended from the sky and locked eyes with the guildmaster of gwenhwyfar, before carrying along their merry way.
having been “marked” by the redeemer, something changed in guinevere. instead of leaving her daughter alone all the time, she made less public appearances and more time sitting in chelly’s room, talking to her for hours and trying to simulate something… anything. achelois was a type of distant that felt hesitant to come forward, so guinny pushed her again and again… without much progress, unfortunately. but they were never angry. perhaps a bit frustrated, but… in the end, they still came by everyday to talk to her. until she didn’t, that is.
achelois hears through the network that guinevere joyeuse is gone-- vanished without a trace. there is no hide nor hair of them, as if they had just disappeared in a puff of smoke, never to return. without a leader at the helm, the once peaceful and quiet region of gwenhwyfar erupted in paranoia and vicious rumors. no one knew who to trust anymore, or what to do. achelois ponders over this predicament, scanning over a million scenario components and a million more possible play out of the events. and… she feels a twinge of something, something quiet.
for the first time in years, she dons her humanoid vessel once more, black hair bleaching itself into white hues all at once. she had a place to protect, here. … a home.
of course those who were not fans of achelois before were certainly not fans of her return and sudden seizing of a leadership position, distrusting again of her intentions and humanity. but with a calm voice and determined stare, she pushed back, demanding that this chaos not be what would break a land that had been so intent on their pacifistic ways before. it takes time, but with enough trial and tribulation, the people slowly grow to like her and her methods, as blank as her in real life persona might be. she’s a good guildmaster, and treats the region well.
achelois doesn’t know it, but when she says that she likes them too, she actually means it.
Memento:
zeta - achelois' pet rabbit. she found him just wandering around gwenhwyfar one day, and was rather surprised to see him standing at her doorstep when she went out to work the next morning. he's a pretty prickly lad, but she adores him with her whole heart.
Natural Abilities:
android makeup:
does not breathe, as she doesn’t have lungs. she tries to mimic this motion in public, however.
has an extreme tolerance for both heat and cold, mostly due to her ability to sense either temperature is dulled. however, parts of her can still freeze and melt-- she keeps track of these readings inside of her and tries to avoid especially strenuous limits despite not feeling the pain of it.
as mentioned before, she has no sense of pain. she is bad at emulating this, so most likely she will disturb people who think that getting hit by a baseball in the face at mach speed should be decidedly agonizing.
is “semi-waterproof”, whatever that means.
magic programs:
achelois’ magic and powers mostly center around that of support and status effects, freezing enemies in their tracks while she bolsters your attacks to be all the stronger. of course, she is plenty capable of going on the offensive, weighing you down with gravity magic while she chips away at your strength bit by bit.
the visible manifestation of her magic comes in the form of silken ribbons-- their colors detail their effects!
shades of blues can be coolants or ice magic,
whites are light and healing,
reds are fire and heating,
black is gravity and dreams,
yellows and greens are toxin based,
and gold and silver are metal and strengthening based.
to give an example, when achelois summons forth a spell, runes of the color will appear on the target, and then become wrapped by a blooming ribbon. offensive ones will sink into one’s skin and eventually cause pain, the ribbon showing a physical effect of what’s happening within. support ones will multiply over one’s body and try to encase them while once again emitting their effect below the target’s skin.
ADDENDUM: Her magic programs may drain more of her energy than usual, especially when using gravity-based ones! Usage of multiple programs within a short amount of time will tire her out!
Power History:
metal smithing: achelois has the ability to summon forth metal and weave it into different shapes, ranging from computer chips to swords. the bigger an object is, the more energy it takes, so she usually sticks with small stuff.
programming: oh hackerman? achelois can take control of machines and fix them from the inside. she can do this non magically too, but this is kinder on machines.
Extra:
achelois comes from an original concept shared with some friends called vespera frontier. while we do take history and systematic info from it, this is an entirely different achelois than the one that anyone encountered in the mfrp vespera frontier. she’s from a past point of the story (about 12 years ago), where she’s been the guildmaster of gwenhwyfar for about 8 years.
5’4”... small...
her eyes change color depending on if she experiences any interference magic or coding wise. she can, of course, also change it herself, but decides not to.
is admittedly not used to using her fingers to type, since her equivalent to a phone was stored in her chest and she just thought up her responses and had them appear. mind-to-text, anyone?
she’s more empathetic than she thinks she is.
achelois has a baby face. she will never be able to grow out of this. because of it, she appears to be 18… eternally.
there’s a toolkit in her arm, you just need to ask for a tool and she’ll “check in her bag” to get it.

"huh? oh! yes! sure!" Cornelius said and cleared his throat.
"Guinny, we took a test about two weeks ago and-" suddenly, Cornelia came running too, hugging Cornelius' arm. she had to see his reaction!
"well, Ceban and Cornelia are pregnant!" Cornelius proudly proclaimed, putting his arms around each of his lovers' waists.
Guinness eyes grew wide at those news. "what?! how?! ah mean- those are incredible, fantastic news, congrats! but still- how?" he said, both parts excited and confused.
Cornelia giggled excitedly and went to hug Guinness close to her chest. "apparently the curse only works between me and Cornelius!" she said. "but thanks to our wonderful, beautiful, lovely sea angel our greatest wish got granted after all!"
she was so happy, she went to give Guinness a big kiss on the cheek before doing the same with Ceb and Cornelius.
Guinness laughed, hugging his two dear friends close. "oh, ahm so happy fer ye two!" he said, getting a little misty eyed.
the day after Christmas, Cornelia was the first to wake up, stretching her limbs after all the fun she had with her two beloved men the day before. she slowly got up, grabbing the curtains, wanting to let some sunshine into the room, but- not only was the sun not out yet, but she was also hit with a sudden wave of overwhelming nausea the second she got on her feet. after taking a step, she pressed a hand to her mouth and darted off into the bathroom, heaving and coughing as she emptied her stomach into the toilet bowl. all this retching and sloshing ended up waking her brother as well and he shook Ceb a little before getting up. "Cornelia? are you okay?" he asked as he followed his wife into the bathroom, getting her hair out of the way as she continued throwing up.
“Mm…?” Ceb didn’t wake up at first, however after a moment his own nausea hit, making the poor brunette rush for the bathroom to throw up into the little trash can besides the toilet.

Hola mahalla sikhiwiki
Tumblr media
My preference is I wish you good luck in your search. My motto to post this alert is to warn those parents and Sikh youths/ girls who are to get themselves registered at Sikh matrimony, may kindly find any other option as Sikh matrimony is not trustworthy, cheater and unreliable, their service is poor and your money may go waste. Though I am now a paid member at and they are doing well with more numbers of contacts then Sikh matrimony. for the last many days I am getting misguided information from Sikh Matrimony congratulating me (in the name of those girls who had declined my interests), that my so and so has accepted my request with picture of such and profile ID, so that I may make them payment blindly to get contact with them whereas the phone numbers of all those girls are saved with me (fortunately) who were contacted by me an i had talked with their family members but I wonder if Sikh matrimony thinks me a fool? Doesn’t matter as the girls or their families have their own expectations and ours might not be in position to fulfill their expectations but …. Many of girls whom I had not given my real identity, my proposals were turned down and requests declined. I was in dilemma that as I have paid them, I have a right to get a copy of records but no I was denied later on. I could not use my all number of assured contact numbers and I never had a copy of those phone numbers I had got. Very soon I became a paid member and then for entirely a period of three months, I was rarely called by Sikh matrimony. Posted in Uncategorized | Leave a Comment » Then certainly coming history shall not forgive us. So all the intellectuals and learnt scholars of Sikh nation should have to sit together and make a decision on this importance issue in the interest of coming generations whose future is not safe if they too live in minority status and if their voice is also ignored like us. Guinnies record shows …There are 19,215,730 Sikhs in India as a whole with the majority, around 11 million, living in Punjab, north India. Hindus and Muslim form the majority and we are still stand at the same number of 2 karors after 50 years? In a democratic system, you need to form strength to be given waitage to your presence otherwise nobody shall give any importance. Every political party needs their votes, their voice is heard. When i was a child and studying in early sixty, the ratio of Sikh population was given as less then two karor Sikhs in India, the Muslims counted nearly 8.5 karods who have crossed more than 20 karod and now form a major Vote Bank in India. Generally Sikh nation counts 2 kraoo but any family do not grow more than two children in a family to provide them good standard of life, education and prosperity in life but where the concern is of whole community, i do support giani Gurbachan singh ji who has appealed every Sikh family to have 4 children. it has sent a serious concern to all intellectuals. SO I APPEAL EVERY SIKH VOTER TO CAST HIS/HER VOTE ONLY TO AAP, COME FORWARD AND SPREAD THIS MESSAGE TO EVERY HOME AND TO EVERY PERSON.ĭasam Patshah ji blessed khalsa to gain strength of 96 karod (960000000) but the population of we Sikhs is on sharp decrease. Be ready to be called so or vote and support AAP in every constituency, teach a lesson to big shots like Manish Tiwari, Pawan bansal, Arun Jaitly and Akali dal badals candidates as they did nothing for justice to our dead brothers of 1084 and kins of their families. bhullar other then Arvind ?ģ- Is there any political party or leader who ever demanded setting of SIT on 1984 riots?Ĥ- Is there any political party or it’s leader who called riots as genocide as demanded by Sikhs other then Kejriwal?ĥ- Could you name a single political leader of India who ever kept his commitments other then Kejriwal who assured Sikhs in May 2013 and committed if he comes in power, he will fulfill their demands and in just 49 days of his rule in Delhi, he did what he committed?ĭo you still doubt on your real friends and honest political leaders? If yes, then Sikh nation shall also be called thankless nation. 1- Is there any such letter ever issued by any political party?Ģ- Is there any leader who dared to write President of India to release Prof.

So this is a v v v v late bday present for Vannah @sweetpeas-sweetpea and it features her OCs and Queenie and I really hope I did them justice!
Queenie approached Mabel at lunch and sat down across from her before she took her bag out. Mabel stopped mid-chew, and gave the taller girl a questioning look.
“Um…” Queenie looked up after she had pulled out her sandwich.
“Oh, hey, whats up?”
“I was about to ask you the same thing?”
“Oh, well, you looked like you could use some company” the girl smiled and took a bite out of her sandwich. The two hadn’t really talked much since they got to high school.
“Oh! I do have another motive. I was wondering if you were free to hang around sometime this week, maybe after practice sometime?”
“Why?” Mabel gave her a wary look.
“Just because we haven’t talked in a while? Also Omi won’t go to the aquarium with me and I need someone to babble to.” her expression softened, “Also, I figured we could catch up.”
Mabel narrowed her eyes for a minute before sighing, “Yeah sure”
“Great! I’ll pick you up, say, tomorrow after practice?”
“Sure”
“Awesome!” Queenie took another big bite of her sandwich with a big smile.

After soccer practice that day, Maddox ran up to Queenie.
“Abrejo!” she turned around and smiled.
“Heya Harlow”
“You played good today” the boys and girls varsity teams played against each other in a scrimmage that day.
“You too. Glad you didn’t kick me in the face again”
“That was one time!”
“I know, just givin ya shit” she propped her ball on her hip, “Whatcha need?”
“Mabel said you asked her to hang out with you tomorrow?”
“And?”
“That was nice. She needs someone right now” Queenie shrugged and smiled.
“You coming over for dinner tonight? Atzi misses you”
“She does?”
“When is Maddox coming over? Are you hiding him from me? I need to see him and give him sweets. Is he eating enough?” she imitated her abuela’s voice with a giggle.
“That’s a good impression.”
“Thanks I’ve been working hard on it. You comin or not?”
“Yeah yeah” he shoved her lightly before heading to the locker room.

The next day, after soccer and vixen practice, Queenie was waiting for Mabel, trying a few tricks with her ball, when it went flying and nearly hit the blond in the head.
“Sorry!”
Mabel went to pick up the ball and handed it back.
“Its ok. You said we were going to the aquarium?” Queenie’s face brightened.
“Yeah! I’m driving!” she took her hand and pulled her toward the parking lot.
“Fair warning, everyone has affectionately dubbed my car hot wheels”
“Hot Wheels? Why?”
“Oh you’ll see” a mischevious grin spread across the taller girl’s face. A grin Mabel remembered from when they were younger when Queenie was about to get into trouble.
“I don’t like that grin”
“You never did” when they got to the car, Mabel hesitantly hopped in.
“Buckle up”
“Queenie-SHIT!” Queenie peeled out of the school parking lot, Highway to Hell blasting through the speakers.
“WOOO!!!” she whooped, and drummed her hands on the steering wheel as the car sped down the road.
“WHY DO YOU DRIVE LIKE THIS?!” Mabel tried to yell over the loud music. Queenie just hummed in response.
Soon they pulled into the lot
“Here we are” the car screeched to a halt and Mabel immediately stumbled out of the car.
“Fuck” Queenie got out and knelt next to her.
“I did warn you.”
“You drive like that everywhere?!”
“Mostly, unless my abuela is in the car. Its fun, living life on the edge”
“I’m surprised you never got into an accident”
“Everyone says that” she patted the shorter girl on the back before helping her up and leading her to the sad excuse for a building.
“It looks a lot better on the inside, come on” the two entered and walked up to the desk with a plump woman with bright purple lips and grey hair pulled into a bun.
“Evening Marie!” Queenie let go of Mabel and leaned on the desk, “How are you this lovely today?” she winked. The woman smiled in response.
“Evening dearie, I’m fine. Who is this?”
“Mabel! She’s a good friend of mine. I wanted to show her around the place, that ok?” Marie smiled and nodded.
“Have fun you two!” the older lady gave the two a happy lil wave before going back to her work.
“Over here, this is the big tank” Queenie grabbed the other girl’s hand and pulled her over to a dark room, only lit from the light blue glow of the large tank.
“Woah” Mabel looked up in awe. The light filtered through the rippled water at the top beautifully, casting a textured shadow on the floor below. Bright green kelp littered the tank, as well as various other aquatic plants. Fish of various shapes and sizes swam throughout the large enclosure.
Queenie had sat herself in front of the tank, fingers splayed over the glass, staring in awe at a small little shark that swam up to the glass.
“Hello beauty” she greeted as the animal nuzzled the glass.
“Who’s this?” Mabel sat next to her.
“Her name is Guinevere. I named her myself” the taller girl leaned in closer to the glass.
“What kind of shark is that?”
“This lovely lady is a spiny dogfish. Usually bottom dwellers, females usually outsize the males. The way to tell a female from the male sex is that males have pelvic fins, while females don’t. Their lifespans are crazy long, usually up to 100 years. I believe they have one of the longest lifespans of any creature in the ocean, but don’t quote me on that” she paused, her smile turning somber, “Unfortunately their numbers have decreased due to overfishing and bycatch of these beauties.” Mabel gave her a confused look,” Bycatch is when there is extra catch in the net or trawl or line or whatever fishing method is being used. If it doesn’t match the size, gender, or species that they’re fishing for, it usually gets thrown back, or it gets thrown away as soon as they get to shore. It can destroy whole environments, and some people refuse to pull back on their way of fishing because it’ll take longer with more ethical fishing methods. They set a limit for fishing them but, unfortunately, it hasn’t really been enforced, so the shark still rests on the red list due to its late gestation period, as females don’t become sexually fertile until they reach 18-21 years old” she finished as the tiny shark glided away from the glass. After a minute, she turned to see Mabel looking at her, gobsmacked.
“Um”
“Sorry, sometimes I get carried away” she looked back at the glass, smiling as the dogfish swam back and bumped its nose against it.
“Calm down guinny” she giggled.
“You really like this stuff?”
“Yeah. It makes me happy. Gives me hope I can someday get out of here and then come back to fix up this place” she looked around, “it deserves it. I just hope lodge doesn’t get his sticky fingers on it” the two were silent for a moment.
“So, you said there were some exciting exhibits?” Queenie’s face instantly brightened.
“Yes!” She scrambled up,”The octopus and the prehistoric sections are my favorites” she leaned in close, “I also might have stolen some skeletons but what they don’t know is plaster won’t hurt them.” she giggled and pulled the other girl towards an archway covered in tentacles.
“Martha is a firecracker. She’s escaped so many times we’ve literally had to seal the top off. She’s still managed to get out even then. Lets see if she’s on the floor again.” they entered the enclosure, and low and behold, the octopus was crawling out of her tank.
“Stand back” Queenie grabbed a pair of long gloves from the stand, and put them on, before grabbing onto the creature.
“Come on baby, I know you need a bigger tank, we’re working on it I promise, you need to stay put a little bit longer” she cooed at the large tentacled creature as she slowly coaxed it back into the tank before securing it again.
“Do animals escape often?”
“Only martha”
“She’s beautiful” the shorter girl approached the tank and the octopus moved towards her.
“Yeah she is. Wish she didn’t try to eat the other fish though, we feed her a lot” Queenie sighed.
“I think she likes you” the octopus had made her way to Mabel.
“You think?!”
“Oh I know”
-
“You wanna look at the prehistoric section?”
“Sure?” Queenie grinned and pulled her over to the bones.
“Which ones did you stea-” she slapped a hand over Mabel’s mouth.
“Not so loud Mabes. Gotta keep this job” she let her go.
“But you see the small ones over there?” she whispered
“Yeah?”
“Yeah. You can’t tell the difference” she smiled.
After an hour, Marie came in.
“Alright dears unfortunately I have to kick you out”
“Awwwww MarieeeE” Queenie whined.
“Sorry to ruin your fun but I did give you an extra half hour.” she winked and lead the two out.
“Thank you for today, that’s the most fun I’ve had in ages!” Mabel laughed as the two walked to Queenie’s car.
“I’m glad. It’s good to see you smile again”
“I smile!”
“And I drive slow all the time-no, I mean a real smile” Queenie poked the side of the shorter girl’s mouth, “Looks nice on you”
“Thanks” they got in.
“Are you going to drive fast?”
“Nah, I’ll go slow” the taller girl winked and pulled out of the lot, much slower than she had before.
“You’re actually a good driver?”
“Yeah” Queenie turned on the radio to a jazz station, “When I feel like it”
“I’ve missed you, Abrejo” Queenie spared a glance at the other girl.
“You flatter me”
“I have.”
“I guess I’ve missed you too” she laughed and they drove the rest of the way in comfortable silence.
