“Evelynn? What are you doing under the staircase? You’re expected to be with Madame Olistro for your spell-work. As the young mistress of the manor your punctuality when it comes to your classes to further your potential is also-” the soft sniffle catches the half-vampire off guard.
Eyes shift around scoping out for any stray onlookers or eavesdropping crows by the windows. Kneeling down, Lawrence’s subordinate Moira is eye to eye with the young lady of the Ambers household. The child has her legs clutched closely against her - sparing the woman beside her a brief frustrated glance.
“I wasn’t crying...do I have to go to class today?” she continues avoiding Moira’s observant stare.
“What did we say about questions we know the answer to?”
“Do not ask them.” Evelynn answers promptly - exasperated sigh following right after.
“...Why did you tell me you weren’t crying, Evee? Did something happen?”
The girl is silent.
She waits a minute. Then another. One more before a huff comes from the woman.
“Evelynn I don’t have time to entertain what’s gotten you into hysterics today. Your grandfather will be displeased if you aren’t in that room soon.”
“...It’s "unbecoming" to cry.” the small girl musters out while bringing her legs even tightly closer to frame as she can manage.
“Where did you hear that from?” Moira’s brow is raised. "You're usually so thick skinned about others comments." she muses.
"We are not to cry about our failures. That's what Lawrence said." Evelynn grumbles with a few sniffles thrown in.
Moira's features soften, hands resting on her lap and tired heavy sigh escaping past her lips.
"Your grandfather is a rather insecure and proud man. Confusing as that is. He tends to see things like crying as a weak human emotion."
That causes the child beside her to inch away a little further.
"...But you are not Lawrence. You're a ten year old child. You're allowed to feel things outside trying to be the ideal heir."
The sound of shuffling and sudden weight against her side has the vampire looking down to find Evelynn loosely clinging to her arm.
"Can we sit here for a little longer?"
"I shouldn't spoil you like this but if that's what you need to get you to class sooner...so be it."
"Thank you." Evelynn offers a small smile.
"Yes, yes - just part of my never ending lists of tasks, halfling." Moira clears her throat but reaches over to return an albeit awkward but comforting pat over the half witch's head.

does eve likes playing games in modern universe?
yes !!! god. she’s an ancient demon and you know, sometimes the day to day just gets so incredibly boring, and she’s had so much time to try out everything. whether this is k/da verse or a verse specific to making more of a “ career ” out of streaming video games and such, this is something she’s found enjoyment in. while she does find genuine entertainment out of the games themselves ( and can you blame her ? come on, games are fun, even to an ancient demon ), she’s quite interested in the pool of prey that comes with her fame and thus having a fanbase. it’s easy food.
that being said, evelynn being the demon person that she is, she enjoys games that are more horror and action based. things such as the resident evil series, vampire the masquerade, etc. anything that is a little more horror - esque and bloody and gorey and supposedly scary is right up her alley. you catch her at a moment that’s supposed to be some kind of jump scare, and her eyes just light up with joy and she just laughs so hard. she’s just so amused and so entertained.
a lot of apocalypse - based plots are kind of up her alley too. not that she cares for the premise and idea of apocalypses themselves or the stories that come with them, because she doesn’t sympathize with the characters nor their plight. evelynn more so just . . . finds a little twisted sense of humor in their suffering. she is the mistress of agony and suffering, you know ! not that these fictional characters do anything to feed into her power, but . . . it’s just her interest.
#THANK YOU SO MUCH FOR ASKING#i actually never thought of evelynn in this scenario .. her being the way she is#dkjbgdf#ooc.#ooc ask.#hc.#Anonymous#verse. → modern.

What are some of the "permanent aliases" mentioned that Evelynn has set up? Are there any characters she is particularly fond of playing? Has she ever killed someone, only to take their place in society for a time?
This ask is almost a year old oh my god. NO TIME LIKE THE PRESENT I SUPPOSE.
Short answer, Evelynn absolutely has a few permanent aliases set up around Runeterra! Every once in a while she enjoys changing things up and pretending to be an upstanding citizen from wherever it is that she happens to be at any given time. Yes, she has killed and replaced people in the past and enjoys doing so. She thinks of it as a game. She’ll stalk the person, learn their routine and their habits and about their relationships. Then she eats and takes their place and tries to see how long she can keep up the act, or until she gets bored. Then she ruins their reputation most of the time before disappearing once again, usually by killing someone openly.
Here are a few of Evelynn's more permanent aliases.
Aveline Lafaille or Lady Aveline of Piltover. This is one of her favorite characters to play and one she has kept for quite a long time.
She takes the appearance of Tango Evelynn. Long blonde hair that she keeps tied up a lot of the time. Striking golden eyes. Red is her favorite color and she incorporates it into her fashion as much as possible. She turns heads wherever she goes because of her beauty and the fact that she has seemingly no augments done to her body. The wealthy can usually afford the most hightech equipment. If you didn’t know who she was, you’d think she was just some stuffy foreigner who doesn’t care one bit for Piltovean culture. Aveline has a thick accent that no one can seem to place, and when asked where she’s from, her answer is usually vague and nondescript.
She is an aristocrat, a high society socialite, and (seemingly) extremely wealthy. A supposed young widow who inherited a fortune from her late husband. Aveline has a soft heart for young inventors because of her husband and will often find them, take them in, mentor them and invest in their projects to help them grow and become recognized. Evelynn uses this near constant influx of bright young humans to feed whenever she needs to. To keep up the facade, she does genuinely help some of them and they go on to do great things. She doesn’t mind, as this fills their lives with joy that she can rip from them a few years down the line. Aveline is sympathetic to those stuck down in Zaun and tries to find hopeful kids there to bring up into the light and help make a better life.
Aveline tends to stick around for about 6 months before she goes on long trips around the world and isn’t seen for about a year, if not more. This is when Evelynn gets bored and wants to hunt elsewhere. This alias does not stop her from killing and replacing other characters within Piltover every now and again.
The Noxian role is less of an alias. She simply goes by Evelynn and has ties to the Black Rose. Rather, she knows all their secrets so LeBlanc tolerates her presence and lets her lounge around during their meetings. She wears the appearance of Shadow Evelynn, complete with the striking blue streak in her long black hair and those bright blue eyes.
Evelynn’s role here is a little more simple than in Piltover. One day she snuck up on them and listened, collecting juicy blackmail that could potentially send the nation into chaos. She returned several times, stalking the members and learning as much as she could in a short time. When she finally decided to show herself, she promised not to spill their plans if they let her play with them too. Her threats weren’t taken seriously at first until they figured out what she was. There was no assassinating Evelynn, there was no getting rid of the problem, there was no making her go away or disappear. She was there to stay.
Evelynn has seen the Black Rose through all their mischief for years and years. Not as many as LeBlanc, but close. She doesn’t consider herself a member, but she does favors for them every now and again, when she feels like it. A shadowy demon who can get in and out of places completely unseen tends to be pretty useful for an organization like the Black Rose. The only problem is actually getting her to do what she’s been asked. Evelynn is very much like a cat. She hangs around, watching and listening but mostly keeping to herself. If you want her to do something, you’ve got to offer her a good reason for doing it. Mostly, she’s an annoyance that, once again, they tolerate.
Evelynn doesn’t usually stay in Noxus for very long. She’ll check in, hang around for a couple months and then scurry off somewhere else. They don’t like attracting attention, and Evelynn constantly killing people for food tends to do that sometimes. She understands this and leaves soon after the citizens tend to raise an alert.
Once again, her appearance in Ionia is less an alias. She is more a folk legend than a person. She’s been called Oni, Yōkai, Spirit, Demon, and very few people who meet her and live to tell the tale know her as simply Evelynn. she takes the appearance of Blood Moon Evelynn. A charming, beautiful woman who is often found in the deep forest and often is seen around temples. The legends say falling for her charm is deadly and that she will rend your still beating heart from your chest. She isn’t shy about concealing her horns in this form, as people generally assume she has vastayan blood of some kind.
This is kind of what I use for the blood moon verse as well. An oni who tricks people into believe she’s human/humanoid and lures them to their death. During the blood moon, her power is amplified and she no longer has the ability or want to appear humanoid. Under the light of the blood moon, she reveals her true demonic self and her hunger is uncontrollable.
Evelynn usually shows up in Ionia about a month before the blood moon rises. She’ll find ways to entertain herself until then, playing with people and what not. She has a lot of fun during the blood moon, but once it ends, she’ll usually leave Ionia for a while. Evelynn likes the place, but there aren’t nearly as many people to choose from and she finds them generally rather dull. She enjoys the magic that flows through the land, but the gnawing hunger doesn’t allow her to stay long.
In Bilgewater, Evie is the owner and Madam of a brothel known as Ravage. As she usually does, Eve likes to keep things mysterious. At first, the mask was just something she enjoyed wearing, but over time, the girls working for her started wearing them as well. Now they’re a staple costume piece of the place. The girls like them because it keeps their identity concealed and the customers enjoy the roleplay of it all. Here, Evelynn appears as Masquerade Evelynn and asks to be called Madam or Mistress. Very few people have learned that her name is Evie. The big, bright red hair was inspired by none other than the infamous Sarah Fortune.
Originally, Evelynn took over after she ate the previous owner, but since then she has fashioned the place to be quite unique and very much her own. As far as everyone else knows, the Madam is not for sale. But every once in a while, she’ll catch the eye of someone special and take them back to her private quarters. Of course, she eats them, but everyone just thinks they had a good time and got sent on their way.
Evelynn doesn’t stay around for long. A few months at a time mostly. During her time away, she has one of her most loyal girls act as the Madam in her place. She doesn’t have a set excuse as to why she leaves, it’s kind of just accepted that she does. If anyone asks, she’ll give a different story every time. Although she doesn’t stay here for long, this is another one of Evelynn’s favorite spots.
This post got really long and I only talked about four lol. I don’t really have any more than this set in stone, but I’d love to come up with more for other places. Typically if Evelynn is in one of these four places, this is the role she’ll be taking during my rp interactions unless stated otherwise or if she’s hunting your muse. Feel free to interact with Evelynn as any of these roles and/or ask me about them!

The Shadow’s Beckon
[ Riot’s Color Story for Evelynn. I thought I’d post it here and link it in my stuff since I know a lot of people missed the fact that they put this up for her early on in the year. I’ve made some edits to update her appearance. ]
Saito Takeda leaned his elbows upon the lacquered surface of his desk, the thick leather of his gloves creaking as he steepled his fingers. What had once been heavy slabs of muscle in years gone by had slowly given way to fat, but he was still a big, intimidating man. His gaze was inscrutable, his eyes having long been replaced with soulless, reflective black lenses.
A pair of heavily augmented bodyguards stood to either side of him. They were the best money could buy, their bodies having been turned into brutal chem-tech weapons by the brilliant, albeit deranged, scientist Singed.
Takeda’s inherent violence and ambition had seen him rise from humble beginnings to become one of Zaun’s most powerful chem-barons, the infamous rulers of the undercity. Today he planned the downfall of yet another of his rivals. “Bring her in, Ortos,” he said, through a cloud of exhaled smoke.
Unseen chains rattled and pulled taut, and the dark iron doors to his office ground open. Two more bodyguards stood to mute attention outside. One could never be too careful. Takeda had learned that the hard way, as his many scars attested.
Takeda’s shaven-headed chamberlain, Ortos, stepped forward, leading a petite figure to the entrance.
Shadows clung to her, making it difficult to see her clearly, though Takeda glimpsed a flash of blue-tinged flesh and a pair of predator’s eyes that reflected the chem-fire sconces of his office. He felt an unfamiliar tremor of apprehension at her appearance, but forced it aside. He was one of the most feared men in Zaun. Why should he feel uneasy in his own office?
“The Lady Evelynn,” Ortos announced.
Takeda waved a gloved hand, and Ortos retreated, the doors grinding shut behind him. Evelynn sauntered forward, moving with sublime grace, sharp heels echoing sharply.
She came to a halt on the other side of Takeda’s wide desk, and planted her hands on her hips. He could see her more clearly as the shadows retreated to the corners of the room.
Her slender figure was clad in dark shadows, and her eyes were yellow and almond-shaped, like those of a cat. A wild mane of snowy hair framed her face, and sharp canines glinted as her lips parted in a sardonic smile.
“I’ve been called many things,” she said, “but a lady? That’s a new one.”
Takeda leaned back in his seat, considering her. “Around here, most call you the Widowmaker.”
Evelynn shrugged. “At least it’s accurate.”
“I’ve never married, myself,” said Takeda. “But the one I want you to kill, the Baron Artega Holt, has a wife. Two of them, actually, and a throng of mistresses.”
“He sounds perfectly charming. I’m sure they’ll miss him dearly,” purred Evelynn. “I shall be glad to make his acquaintance.”
“Before I commission you, I need some kind of assurance,” said Takeda. “How do I know you are the right one for this job?”
“You would have me prove myself, like some back-alley cut-throat?” she asked, a hint of irritation in her voice. “Has it been so long since I stepped foot in Zaun that I really need to audition?”
“We hear something of your exploits from time to time. That Demacian knight-commander assassinated last year; that was you, wasn’t it?”
Evelynn gave a slow nod. “It was.”
“And the heir of Clan Kozari, in Piltover last week?”
Evelynn’s expression hardened.
“No, that was not me,” she said. “That was the Gray Lady.”
“Ah,” mused Takeda. “Interesting. Well, I guess it proves that reputations and gossip can never truly be relied upon. I’ll trust what I see with my own eyes.”
“Then I’m afraid this might leave you disappointed,” hissed Evelynn.
The pale grey skinned assassin took a step back and instantly disappeared into shadow. Takeda’s bodyguards tensed, flexing their piston-strengthened limbs in unease. Takeda glanced left and right, trying to discern her location. Nothing. She was simply gone, vanished completely, as if she had been swallowed by the darkness.
“Not bad,” he said. He’d heard of her power, of course, but such things are often over-exaggerated. He was pleased to see that in this case, the rumors were true.
Taloned hands grabbed him from behind, blood red nails digging into his flesh as Evelynn emerged from the shadows. Pointed talons were poised at neck and chest. She was far stronger than she looked, and forcibly turned his head to expose his thick neck. Her grasp was ice-cold, as if warm blood no longer flowed in her veins, and her fangs were inches from his jugular.
His guards turned instantly, stepping forward to defend their master, but Takeda raised a hand, stopping them in their tracks. He knew they would have been too slow had she truly wished to end his life.
“What do you think?” breathed Evelynn through bared teeth, her chilled breath caressing his throat. “Impressed yet?”
Takeda snorted.
“Not bad at all,” he said. “Yes, you will do nicely. Now, let us discuss my offer.”
“I hope you can afford me,” she hissed, tightening her grip, and leaning closer. “I don’t want you to have wasted my time here.”
Takeda swallowed uncomfortably. “I don’t think that will be an issue,” he said.
Evelynn released him with a shove, and sat on the edge of his table. She stretched like a cat, completely at ease.
“You haven’t yet asked my price,” she said.
“Whatever it is, I can pay it.”
“Money holds no interest to me, Saito,” she said.
Takeda furrowed his brow. “Then what is it you want?”
“Much more than you will be willing to give, I’m thinking,” she said. “But I believe you’ll come around.”
“This is not the way things work here,” growled Takeda. “I own this district. No one makes demands of me.”
“You’ve seen only a fraction of what I can do,” said Evelynn. She leaned back, smiling. “I’m in the perfect position to make a few demands.”
Takeda said nothing. His body was tense. He opened his mouth to speak but Evelynn interrupted him, holding up a finger.
“Don’t say anything rash, my dear,” she said. “You’d be dead before the words left your lips.”
Takeda stared at her, frozen in indecision.
“Very wise,” Evelynn said, after giving it a moment. She stood, moved back around the desk, and strode toward the door.
“Artega Holt will be dead before sunup,” she said, without looking back. “I’ll be in touch about my first payment.”
“First payment?” said Takeda.
“The first of many,” she said, pausing to look back at him. “You’d be wise to remember that I can strike wherever there is darkness. And Zaun is such a dark place.”
She nodded toward the door, raising an eyebrow. Takeda growled an order, and the doors swung open. Before she left, Evelynn gave him a wink.
“Don’t take it too hard,” she said, as she melded into the darkness. “So long as you don’t irritate me, this partnership will work out well for us both.”
Takeda sat alone in silence. After a few minutes, his chamberlain peered into the room.
“Can I get you anything, my lord?” Ortos said.
“No,” said Saito Takeda through gritted teeth. He slammed a fist onto his desk. “Leave me. All of you, leave me. And stoke the furnace. There are too many shadows in here...”
