It would be nice to be able to filter out the later half...

Hi! I moved here cause I can’t get a lick of sense from the people on bird app. Idk how to feel about this shitshow that I just witnessed. I just remembered there were more reasons as to why that person was banned. That person initially harassed a member of 5up’s community in which the mod defended. So the group disliked the mod too and continued to shit on them privately and publicly.
Next, thirst tweets can be funny to some. But others find it really uncomfortable which is understandable. They have made suggestive remarks about the pink man and even steve before (that peeps overlooked) but it’s not like the cc themselves are bothered (?). So idk even anymore.
I’m don’t know if I’m making any sense. I’m sorry for the spam ;( This is just the first time I just felt genuinely anxious seeing all the things said about 5up so I word vomited here.
oh my god. i had an entire response done and tumblr just GLITCHED in my face WHY
hey anon, don’t worry about it!!! tbf, i feel pretty much the same. i think the situation as a whole is pretty frustrating to see, especially with how it blew out of proportion in every way possible. honestly, feel free to vent in my inbox whenever you want!
with that said, though,
(because this will be kinda long, i guess)
overnight, it became clear that the nsfw part of the issue is not really an issue, besides being the recurrent meme for this situation. i read from various people that 5up explicitly said that he didn’t have a problem with the nsfw tweets when discussing this with the mods, but that he took that decision based on the harassment, which. ok another can of worms. to me, the thing is... smart fandom behavior is to always push away the things that you don’t wanna see. so nsfw jokes/tweets might be not of your liking. what should you do? the correct answer is, unfollow/mute/block the people that make them, and in general every person that you wouldn’t wanna share the fandom with. that’s to me the only way you can genuinely enjoy fandom as intended lol. but there are cases in which we do not take the smartest option. and we somehow make this our problem, which is the most typical case of twitter entitlement, that reads like “you’ve posted something i don’t like. Prepare To Die.”
Tumblr media
when i saw the tweet pictured above in the thread, i was like ooooooooooh so this is just. typical twitter drama. which already highlights the entire issue with this... this is just twitter drama. why is twitch involved? how did the person get banned in both of 5up’s channels? if it were for twitter drama, or this person tweeted something i don’t like!, i’m sure hundreds of people would be arbitrarily banned. so that’s why it’s handled differently on twitch. now, i don’t know jasfer, like i’ve never talked to the guy, but i’m familiar with him. as someone who’s been a fan of 5up for like a year now, i know he’s been here from the start and he’s also a beloved chat member and person in the twitter portion of the fandom. it feels like insult to injury because it wasn’t that jasfer had a bad reputation in 5up’s chat or a bad relationship with most people in it. it’s just... such shitty luck on their part tbh lol
imagine if it were anybody else, like, two randoms on twitter. the best outcome to that would probably be an eventual block on both sides so they just stop talking about it all the time, right? except that this didn’t happen here because one of them happened to be a mod for a chat that the other person frequented. i think by now you know i don’t agree with the decision at all, then.
thing is, i can understand everyone’s sides and empathize with everyone. i understand why 5up stood up by his mods, i understand why the mod was anxious/felt targeted and resorted to this option, i understand jasfer’s anger/sadness from the outcome of the situation. but i’d still side with jasfer, nonetheless, because he’s the only one with no power here. the most that he can do is bring attention to what happened, but he can’t unban himself, or return in other account and expect everything to go well, etc. and it’s like, urgh. like if i was on their place i would be genuinely devastated lol.
now, i could be talking completely out of my ass, right? because i don’t know what really happened. maybe jasfer genuinely did incredibly shitty things and corralled the mod team and 5up into taking that drastic decision. but that’s just another part of the whole twitter drama of it all, isn’t it? see, when i was more active in twitter (in another fandom), if you didn’t like someone/something you’d talk shit about them in your rant. that’s how it went, and everybody did the same. in that part, i can understand how things grew out of proportion, but again, does anyone know what really happened besides the mods and jasfer? not really. and it’s hard to take a real stance because the whole thing happened on private twitter accounts. which yet again highlights how bad of a decision banning jasfer from both 5up twitch channels was, because, how are we ever gonna know if it was deserved? jasfer didn’t do anything wrong in chat, which is what should matter. and if the so called harassment (that we have to take 5up’s word for it!) happened in private rant accounts... is. is it really harassment? or like, was it just a case of people being (understandably) reactionary and doing what everyone else usually does in twitter dot com?
Tumblr media
and the fact that the mod liked this tweet afterwards... isn’t that just incredibly petty? celebrating a personal victory after banning someone that has no say in the matter? jasfer said they tried contacting 5up through discord, and only made the thread days later because they never got a response. so it’s clear that 5up (understandably!) took their mods’ side and was loyal to them, but it came at the cost of what could’ve been a smarter, better decision for everyone involved. but now, because jasfer was left with no tools other than bring attention to his side of the story, twitter blew it out of proportion and everyone is very kindly sending dead threats to everybody involved.
sigh. it’s just... a big mix of terrible luck and bad choices. i usually agree with 5up when it comes to twitter stuff, but making it seem like he’s going against everyone is ignoring the fact that some twitter drama should’ve never made it to his twitch channel(s) anyways, and that a better decision should’ve been taken. now it’s just the worst of both worlds and no one got anything good out of it. like, arguably, the mod got what they wanted, but also got multiple death threats too. i doubt there’s any chance of jasfer ever coming back to 5up’s chat, at least not in the way it was before. because of the twitter thread including sapnap and this being a bad decision in general, a bigger audience now regards 5up badly and this will probably be a passing mention in the eventual cancelling 5up thread when twitter gets boring enough. like, meh. it’s just a mess to watch and it’s just depressing from every angle.

It can be a daunting thing to create a new blog, especially a writeblr! Sharing your work is scary, and it’s especially hard when you feel like you don’t have the friends or following to back you up. Here are some of my best tips for creating and improving your writeblr. I’m not claiming to be an expert - I’ve only had this blog for two months, but these are just some of things I know I look for in a writeblr to follow and the things that I know worked for me!
Try to make your blog neat, easy to navigate and attractive to look at. This might sound like a strange thing to put first but the accessibility and aesthetic of your blog is the first thing people will notice. So, let’s start off at the very beginning, the first steps in the creation of your writeblr!
Firstly, your url, avatar, header, blog colours and text. I would highly recommend that your url contains words relating to books, writing, etc. This will make it easy for people to recognise you as a writeblr/booklr and makes them more likely to click on your url to look at your blog! Now, onto your appearance settings. Your avatar, header and blog colours should look nice together! Perhaps find yourself a nice colour pallet that fits your aesthetic and stick to it for all the different aspects of your blog. Remember you can use gifs for headers too!
Think about your blog theme. Your theme should be, above all, easy to navigate. Make sure your links are obvious and that it’s simple for people to find your WIP pages! Don’t use a font under size 10 and easy to see in terms of colour otherwise too hard to read. The theme I personally use comes from this creator, I would recommend checking them out, they make great themes! Just look for a theme with a lot of navigation options and makes it easy to see the posts as well. You can of course change your blog theme at any time! Check how your theme looks on other browsers too, if you can. It’s also a good idea to ask a friend to make sure everything’s easy to find and view.
Create pages for your WIPs, characters and world. This is so important! If someone’s looking to learn more about your WIP or the characters in it, it is great to have pages on your blog specifically about them. On a character page include lots of details and pictures too! You can also make pages for the countries, magic system, etc., whatever you think will be good for your followers to read. It’s also a good idea to link these pages in a post or something so everyone knows they’re there! (Link all subpages on your WIP pages too). Be sure that these pages are easily found on your blog, and continue to update them as you plan your WIP.
Post a variety of content each day and be original in your posts. Because, after how your blog looks, your posts are the other thing people will notice first. They are, of course, the point of your blog. And even though blog appearance is an attractor, it’s your posts that make people choose to follow.
Posting often is important! You need to keep a presence on your followers’ dashes and show that you are dedicated to your blog. However, do not spam! I’d say at a maximum, 15ish posts a day. People will unfollow you if you post too much too often, even if they like your content.
Your posts should be a mixture of reblogs from others and your own original posts. I would suggest you split somewhere around 50/50 reblogs:original. As for your original posts, I have a few pieces of advice. Don’t make lengthy, detailed posts when your first start off (I am guilty of this). Many people won’t bother to read all of it. Go with short quips and jokes instead, even if they don’t get many notes they are an engaging introduction to your WIP. And it should go without saying, but don’t copy other people. Yes, you can make the same old posts about how hard writing is with an expressive gif and you’ll get the notes, but you won’t get a loyal following of people who are interested in your WIP!
Interact with other writeblrs and members of the community. Making friends is hard, I know. It’s scary to interact with others for the first time. But people are more open than you realise, and if they seem like they’re not they may just be anxious and shy. Don’t freak out if someone doesn’t respond to you right away, it doesn’t mean you’re not cool enough or that no one wants to be friends with you, I promise.
Reblog people’s original posts, tag people in tag games and add your replies to discussion posts. This is just the simple, everyday way of interacting with people on tumblr. Show interest in other people’s WIPs and send asks and replies to others. Put in your intro post and about page that you’re open to being tagged in tag games (if you are, of course). If someone reblogs an ask game, send them a few numbers! Do it off anon! (I know it’s scary! But just try!). On a daily basis, just do your best to interact with other people’s blogs and posts!
Join groups for writers to create connections and get help with your writing. Thanks to the internet, there are some really great ways to join writing groups. My Number One Suggestion is to join @writeblrconnections ! On this blog you can find a template to submit a profile. You’ll be added to their writeblr database where other people can find you (and where of course you can see everyone else!). You can also join their Slack community (like a Discord server) where you can participate in write-ins and other activities. You can also look around for other Discord groups for writers, and try to take part in NaNoWriMo and Camp NaNo if you can! These are great ways to get in touch with other writeblrs and reach your word-count goals!
Be nice. I feel like this sounds like kind of a weird one? But seriously, be kind and polite to others! Even if you have a sort of snarky persona, on a base level try to be a nice person. If someone seems to be having a hard time, send them a supportive message. Reassure people, show that you care! If someone posts some of their original work, tell them how much you liked it! Tell them how much you like their characters, or how much you enjoyed a particular scene. Do your best to say nice things to people whenever you get a chance. It will improve your happiness too!
But perhaps most importantly, be kind to yourself. Nothing good comes from treating yourself badly or thinking poorly of yourself. Constant self-deprecation for any reason (that your writing’s not good enough, that you’re not getting enough notes, etc.) won’t help. This coming from someone who is easily convinced of their own failure and always goes to thinks the worst things about themselves - do not degrade yourself. You are better than you know.
No one starts off at the top. You think other people’s writeblrs started getting thousands of notes in a day? It takes people months, if not years, to reach that point. Your first posts may only get a few notes. They may not get any. But does not matter? It might seem like it does, but I swear to you it doesn’t. Never be disheartened by the number of notes, asks or followers you’re getting. Being unkind to yourself about those little things something you should never do.
Real writers write when it suits them. It doesn’t get circulated around that often, but I do still sometimes see the claim that “Real writers write every day.” Nope, not true. There are no rules to being a “real writer”. In the past fifteen days of Camp NaNo, I have written a grand total of 2,000 words. That is less than 150 words per day. And that’s me trying my absolute hardest to get some words down. Most days at the moment I’m not writing anything! But that’s okay. I put myself first and write when I have the energy and the inspiration, and I think that’s a pretty solid rule.
I hope you found this interesting and useful! Thank you so much for reading. Reblogs are really appreciated! In the meantime, feel free to check out the other links below :)

It's sad how you've allowed these white men take over real estate in your heard mortgage free. You used to be really cool before you allowed your bitterness to take over. I've unfollowed you and am probably going to block you because while i respect that you don't have to like any one you constantly shitting on people just because you dislike it is sad and seeing as my life is hard enough I don't need your negativity in my life.
Um...Ok?  And you should?  If my TIDAL WAVE OF NEGATIVITY AND BITTERNESS during the maybe 7 seconds per week I'm forcibly reminded that whoever it is you're talking about exists outweighs whatever it was that caused you to bestow the honour of "really cool" on me in the first place then godspeed, nonners.  Go seek your bliss.I'm not...sure why you feel the need to tell me this tbh, as the tragedy of being Deemed Uncool by an anonymous stranger who's never interacted with me in any way is a comparatively minor one, but if the acknowledgement makes you feel better about it than I guess you gotta do what you gotta do.Farewell, follower number...uh...follower who had a number probably, idk I don't know how many I have.
------
All clowning aside though, I genuinely don't understand why someone would send a message like that.  And I had no idea how to respond to it...or if I should.  If they're looking for attention, isn't that just giving them what they want?  But then...if I ignored it, would that make them send more?  Can you block an anon?  I have no idea.  For the terrible crime of vocally disliking certain popular wrestlers in her own space, I've literally seen people spend over a month relentlessly harassing a friend of mine in the most vile and vicious manner, while the person that triggered it all egged them on and laughed about it.
So...I never know what to do.  Probably it wouldn't lead to anything that bad, but how do I know?  If they've been around since I was “really cool” (I'm sorry, that's still funny.  I've never been cool in my life) then they'd know I'm seeing a therapist.  They'd know I have pretty crippling social anxiety disorder, generalized anxiety disorder, severe depression.  Were they trying to set it off? They did, actually - messages like that always spike my anxiety badly when I see them.  Heartrate went right up, stomach sank.  It isn't the content so much as the intent, you know?  Random message out of nowhere RE hey I think you're awful: what's the point of that?  Why take the time?Is that what they were trying to do?  Somehow...get me to correct my fiendish refusal to *looks at smeared writing on hand* um, tailor my space to their exact specifications?  Did they unfollow me a few days ago and get frustrated when I didn't mention it (or indeed, notice)?  Were they looking for attention?  Validation?  Just acknowledgement?  I don't keep any track of how many followers I get tbh, except to check that new ones aren't porn bots.  How many people are here or why doesn't affect my life in any way.
It's...I don't wanna use the word triggering, necessarily.  But like.  As I say...if they've been here however long, they know I have anxiety.  They know I live in an active abuse situation.  They know I get extremely defensive over my space bc I've got a history of people coming into my spaces both real and virtual and taking things.  My father's sold or given away or thrown out or destroyed my things on more than one occasion, once or twice while I literally sobbed and begged him not to.  That time it was a doll cradle.  I was maybe 6.  He sold it to a lady for five dollars while I cried in the driveway. When I got home from a school trip to New York one day, I came into my room to find he'd been in here and rearranged all my furniture even up to moving the bed from where I had it...and of course, he got furiously angry when I burst into tears.  I couldn't move the bed back, it was too heavy for me and I wasn't strong enough...and he wouldn't do it, so I just sat there sobbing hysterically until he finally came raging back in, shouting abuse and calling me everything under the sun, and moved it back.Imagine coming home exhilarated from a great experience to find out people you were meant to trust had come into your space without your consent or knowledge and reorganized everything in it, then had an explosion of temper because you weren't “grateful” they'd done it.  There's a reason I have a hoarding problem I'm just now trying to address, after decades of being terrified to let anything out of my sight lest it be gone when I go to look for it.  There's a reason I'm protective of my space.
This blog is my space.  I don't know what nonners thought I started it for, but it sure as fuck wasn't for anyone else's pleasure or interest; hell, some nights when I'm really plugging away I can churn out like 60 gif posts in a single sitting, and most of them end up with less than ten notes.  It's not for the attention.  Half of why I have alternate tags for wrestlers is so I'm not constantly clogging their tags w/ my nonsense - and I don't tag my hate at all, on the rare occasion I bother with criticisms.  You're looking at the repository of the hyperfixation I use to keep myself alive.  If other people enjoy it, that's super!  But at its heart, it isn't for other people.
They wanna know about the white man who has real estate in my head?  It's my abusive piece of shit father, who has all but beaten the ability to express negative emotion at all out of me over a period of decades.
Compared to him, some coward I don’t know from adam hiding on anon trying to chide me for occasional snarky comments about their faves looks like a pair of nail clippers next to a goddamn threshing machine.

Shitty Discourse Salt Mine
0.                                                         Let A Bitch Live
I’d like to start this piece off by quoting a wonderful friend of mine:
“How ‘bout you let a bitch live….”
Don’t like something on the Internet? Don’t read it. No one forces you to read/watch or fap off to anything on the web during your free time. As such, just because you dislike something doesn’t mean you get to make other people feel like shit for liking it. Oh, you don’t like the pot roast tonight? That doesn’t mean you can climb up onto the table and shit all over it, ruining it for everyone else.
Stay in your lane and just keep liking what you like without being a dick.
Now that we have that cleared, I’d like to say a few things on some arguments that I’ve seen. I’ll be covering a few topics in this piece.
First and foremost, we cannot look at the game’s history and events through the lens of only today’s worldview if we wish to remain objective. A lot of FFXV’s familial lore (the Caelums and Nox Fleurets in particular) is based off of medieval families despite the ‘modern’ or ‘futuristic’ setting of Insomnia and Eos as a whole. If we examine decisions of royal families within the context of their time and culture, there are many decisions that would be controversial today that have been chosen with the best intentions or what was considered the norm during previous eras.
I.                                                               Child Rearing
We’ve all seen this before: Regis is a bad dad who neglects his son and distanced himself. Once we’ve demonized certain aspect of a person, we oftentimes forget to see deeper into them; whether it’s their motivations or culture.
In medieval times, entrusting babies to wet nurses in country estates distant from the royal court was considered a necessary safeguard for a child’s health even though this practice might separate the child from his or her parents for months at a time. In most cases, even if the child was on the premises, they would still be taken care of by the wet nurses as this is the culture that has been present for centuries. Parenting skills weren’t exactly passed on and most would treat their children as their parents did them; sound familiar? It still occurs today, we learn from our parents and raise our children in a similar fashion.
In terms of the personal feelings of royal parents toward their children, there were a variety of different kinds of relationships in both medieval and modern times. Such items are subjective and depends on the person at the end of the day. There are royal parents who took a close personal interest in the daily care of their children. Most often, royal parents took an interest in their children’s health and education but entrusted their daily care to others.
If we look at Regis, prior to Bahamut coming to fuck things up and tell him that Noctis is the chosen king, he spent a fair amount of time with his son (as much as a busy king could). We are able to tell that Regis did indeed care about and loved Noctis as he held him close and cried upon finding out the fate of his son. After that, he began distancing himself from Noctis in order to prepare for the coming days and deal with the ongoing Niflheim attacks. Was this also a badly handled defense mechanism to cope with having to send his son off to his death and possibly kill him? We say yes because again, we are going off of our perceived notions of what parental love should be by today’s standards.
Could Regis have done better and done more? Of course. His decision for Noctis to try and ‘live a normal life’ was made with Noctis’ best interest in mind. We think it’s not enough because our judgment has already been made.
Was Regis a shitty father who didn’t spend enough time with his kid? By today’s parenting standards, yes. But did he love Noctis? In his own way, yes.
II.                              Royal intermarriages, Alliances and Estate Gain
Royal intermarriage is the practice of members of ruling dynasties marrying into other families of the same status. It was more commonly done in the past as part of strategic diplomacy for national interest. It’s a practice that has been done worldwide, from Europe to Asia. Marriage between families act to initiate, reinforce or guarantee peace between countries.
As the lines continued on, over time, because of the relatively limited number of potential partners, the gene pool of many ruling families grew progressively smaller, until all European royalty were eventually related. As such, most royals could potentially be descended from one person through many generations. A prime example would be the British royals and nobility, many of whom are descendants of Queen Victoria of the UK or King Christian IX of Denmark.
Though in other cultures, many a times, inbreeding was done in order to keep the royal line ‘pure’ and strengthen the line of succession. In the Ptolemaic dynasty, all rulers were married to their brothers or sisters.
Hey, they even did it in Game of Thrones.
III.                                                         Gene Pooling
Let’s sit down for a moment and pretend we’re back in secondary school listening to our biology professor drone on about Punnett squares and fruit fly generations, shall we?
I’ve been seeing some discontent with ships here and there but let’s remove the ‘abuse’ and ‘manipulation’ for a moment and focus on another point of contention: incest.
A focal point disagreement for most people on Ardyn and Noctis as a ship is that they’re related. They have between them, two thousand years (or more depending on which Ardyn RPer you talk to) and possibly up to a hundred generations. Remember as I stated previously, much of FFXV’s lore is based off of medieval lines, so if we assume that all the members married relatively young and bore offsprings at a young age, more or less a hundred generations would be about right. At least they aren’t fruit flies, right?
What’s more interesting to bring to light is the alliance between the Nox Fleuret and Caelum lines. As mentioned above (Note: See point II), intermarriages are not uncommon among close royal and noble families and even more so with the whole oracle/king dynamic. It would be more surprising to learn if they had never crossed lines between them before. I would assume that it might have happened more than a few times considering the friendly relations and as a guarantee of peace between the two dynasties.
So, guess what? Luna and Noctis could very well be related as well. I would think that due to the amount of intermarriages that could happen, the similarities in their genetic pool is probably a lot closer than Ardyn to Noctis.
Tumblr media
Let’s take a gander at this table. A person shares 25% of genetics as their grandparents. And if we think about how with each generation, genetic coding changes. Even with inbreeding, the code is not even quite the same due to a mutation in the coding.
With so many generations between them, we’re looking at bare minimal in terms of shared genetic coding here.
Conclusion? They share the same name but they can hardly be considered relatives. Luna and Noctis also could possibly share DNA, so by these standards of those against Ardyn and Noctis shipping, that’s incest too.
IV.                                                       Mun =/= Muse
I’ve seen this in the Tumblr RP community since I first started roughly three years ago. This incessant belief that if one writes something, one must absolutely condone it. Your muse is a jerk to mine? Clearly, that’s a personal attack. It isn’t, stop. Get over yourselves.
If this argument was actually valid then we can say that Stephen King absolutely condones murderous demonic clowns dismembering children. Or George R.R Martin is all about incest and rape in addition to brutal execution methods.
If someone chooses to write a darker theme because they feel that they are able to explore an aspect of their muse and have development from it? Great for them. Hell, if they want to do it for fun, that’s their business too. No one should be policing what anyone else does. No one is better than anyone else here. We’re all fucking nerds living vicariously through fictional characters for shits and giggles.
Something about that blog bothers you? Don’t read it. Unfollow. Block. Go bleach your brain with cute cat videos or dumb memes, I don’t care. Just don’t be a dick and put someone else down for liking something you don’t like. You’re free to salt with your friends in a private setting where no one gets hurt. Hell, I do it all the time.
No one holds a gun to your head and tells you to read what makes you uncomfortable. You make that conscious choice to follow this person despite the fact that they produce content that ‘triggers’ you. Want to know what that’s called? Winning the Darwin Award. It’s very much akin to being squeamish about gore and going to watch a Saw movie. Does that make sense to you? Don’t do this to yourself.
Let and let live. At the end of the day, this is a hobby where people come to enjoy themselves and escape reality for a short while so don’t ruin a fun thing for others. Respect each other enough to just click the block button, walk away from it and let a bitch live.
Thank you.

ARMY PSA
Tumblr media
Hello, fellow ARMY!
In light of recent events I feel like it’s time to address a few things.
We as ARMY have a bad reputation in the KPop community. People with bad attitudes and people who attack other groups, fandoms, and even members of BTS. This is unacceptable.
We should not have people say that they refuse to listen to or stan BTS because of ARMY.
Here are some Do’s and Don'ts for proper fandom behavior. Because whether we like it or not we DO represent our boys.
(I will be covering 5 areas and if anyone has anything to add, please do.)
1. Do’s and Don'ts for the Treatment of Bangtan Sonyeondan:
DO have a bias. (If you can’t choose, that’s okay too)
DON’T mistreat or attack other members who are not your bias.
They are a group. If you support one, you should support them all.
DO follow them on social media.
DON’T follow them around a city they’re visiting or around their home.
Stalking is NOT okay. Give them their privacy.
DO take pictures of them. In approved areas only.
DON’T break the rules that BigHit has put in place for taking pictures.
This applies to other rules as well. Those rules are in place for their protection and privacy as human beings.
DO go see them in concert in your country, state, area, etc. if you can.
DON’T purposely book a flight (or other transportation) you know they’re going to be on.
If you happen to be on the same transportation as them: Be respectful! Don’t bother them. Don’t take photos of them without their permission. If you happen to sit next to them or catch their eye: wave, smile, send finger hearts, etc. Show your love but treat them with the love and care they deserve as humans and our idols. If THEY offer to take a picture with you, then feel free. But they shouldn’t be living in fear of us, and Jin shouldn’t have to tell us to leave them alone. Common sense, people. Put yourself in their shoes.
DO watch their solo VLives.
DON’T ask for other members.
This is so important. They don’t HAVE to do them. They WANT to. Because they love us as much as we love them. If it’s not your bias and you don’t want to watch it… then don’t watch it. Simple. Asking for other members is so mean. Hobi should not feel like he has to pass on the phone to another member because he feels unwanted. Not only is it damaging to us Hobi stans, it hurts all of Bangtan. Especially Hobi. Or any of them. There are plenty of posts about this. So, I’ll leave it here.
Tumblr media
2. Do’s and Don'ts for the Treatment of Other ARMY:
DO fangirl/fanboy with other ARMY about your favorite member(s).
DON’T attack other ARMY for their choice of favorite member(s).
Everybody has their own tastes.
DO support each other and make friends.
DON’T attack each other because of race, religion, sexual orientation, gender identity, etc.
Treat people the way you would want to be treated. Plain and simple. I won’t go any further into this subject, but this is soooo important and applies to everything on this list and everyone in your life. Hate only breeds hate. Let’s fight the hate with love and acceptance.
DO enjoy fanart, fan fictions, and any other fan-made things that are to your preference.
DON’T attack others for the things they enjoy, even if you don’t like it.
If you don’t like it and can’t look past it, just unfollow or walk away. No need to create drama. You have every right to voice your opinion, be angry and say whatever you want, but I urge you to treat others with respect and tolerance. Wouldn’t you want to be treated the same way? Every person has feelings. Also. Please don’t kink shame.
DO share fanart, fan fiction, fan-made stuff from the blogs, accounts you like.
DON’T, for the love of J-Hope, steal other people’s work and post it as your own.
If you want to repost on another site they are not on, want to translate ff into another language, etc. ASK THE CREATOR FOR PERMISSION. Each creator has their own rules and expectations from you as a reposter. (Is that even a word? It is now.) As a general rule, you need to link the original work to the original creator and their original post. There are plenty of posts about this, so I won’t say anything else on this subject.
DO thank and praise the creators for their work and for sharing it with the rest of us.
DON’T harass creators for updates or new content.
Creators work hard and are doing it on their own time for us to enjoy. Most have some form of FAQs posted for you to see. Search them out before you bombard them with questions they have already answered.
DO have fun at concerts, fan meets, fansigns, etc.
DON’T cause problems by pushing, shoving, hitting, yelling at other concert goers.
We are there to connect with each other over our love for the boys. By all means, make friends. But treat the people around you with the respect you would expect. Also. We are guests at venues. Please pick up after yourselves and treat staff with respect. They’re just doing their jobs.

3. Do’s and Don'ts for the Treatment of Other Idols/Groups/Bands/Artists (both Korean and non-Korean):
DO be happy for other artists’ wins.
DON’T attack them for winning over BTS.
It’s statistically improbable that they will win everything.
DO be respectful.
DON’T send hate or threaten them.
No need to be a jerk for no reason. We call that “petty”.
DO be supportive of collabs with other artists.
DON’T accuse other artists of using a collab to gain more fame.
The example of Wale and Namjoon is perfect. The behavior of some ARMY toward Wale is SHAMEFUL. Not only is it damaging to our reputation as fans, it damages the reputation of Namjoon. That is beyond horrible. They want to collaborate because they like the other’s music and respect them as an artist. Getting in the way of Namjoon making a connection with fellow artists is damaging to his career. Do you really want to be responsible for ruining an amazing opportunity for him?

4. Do’s and Don'ts for the Treatment of Other Fandoms:
DO be happy for other fandoms and their successes.
DON’T start fan wars by attacking their groups.
Again: petty
DO defend the boys from serious attacks by reporting users.
DON’T feed the trolls.
Engaging in arguments only makes the problem bigger. They want you to fight back. They’re trying to get a reaction out of you. Don’t let them have it. Also… Don’t be the person to start fan wars. If you see other ARMY behaving badly, please calmly and politely remind them who they represent.
DO take threats seriously.
DON’T try to handle it yourself.
Report. Report. Report.
Tumblr media
5. Do’s and Don'ts for Social Media:
DO comment or reply to our boys’ posts. Show your love.
DON’T be inappropriate with your comments or replies!
Let’s all have some decorum, please. Refrain from being perverted towards them. And for the love of Hobi, DO NOT CALL THEM “DADDY” TO THEIR FACES. Online or in person. So not a good look.
DO share your fanart, poems, love letters, etc. with the boys.
DON’T share things that would make them uncomfortable.
Let’s keep it PG.
DO participate in Selca Day if you want.
DON’T be inappropriate.
Again: PG
DO respect their privacy.
DON’T share their location if you see them out somewhere.
Don’t make things difficult for them. Give them space. If you snap a few pictures because you saw them out and about at a museum or whatever… please wait to share it. Like 24 hours minimum.
Tumblr media
Let’s just all behave with decorum and let’s show the KPop community that we are a positive force to be reckoned with. Let’s make the boys proud of us.
And this applies to more than just ARMY. This is a basic guideline for all fandoms and for life in general.
Maybe I should have just titled this: How To Be A Decent Human Being.
Thank you for sticking it out until the end. Please share and feel free to add anything I missed!
