That's fine bestie I'm in my late 20's HAHAH. And omg mindbreak Fyolai is so good, I'll cry. I'm curious about the kin stuff and the rarepairs if you feel like sharing~! I love finding older fans here because most people out there are either antis or minors (or both, lol). How do you feel about Dazai ships? (Other than Sigzai,which I love but... With top Sigma -sobs- lmao). And, what got you into writing bsd stuff?

as for the rarepairs, the kin-related ones are mostly just poe and tachihara! i'm also not sure if this is a rarepair because i've never looked through the tags for it or anything, and idk what their ship name is or if they even have one? but i'm rewatching bsd (like most of the fandom is, apparently, although i did not realize that until later) and noticing a LOT of chemistry between dazai and akutagawa.

i know it's a lot more common to ship them with other people, but akutagawa spends the better half of the first couple seasons down bad for him and even JUMPS OFF THE RAILING OF THE MOBY DICK because atsushi says dazai is on the phone and wanted to talk to him, and then threw it over the edge. that man is OBSESSED and i will take no criticism.

i guess that answers your question about dazai ships LOL. as a side note, i mostly like soukoku's canon dynamic and try to steer clear of fandom skk stuff. i dont know if i could ever write any of the super popular ships, and i dont know if i could really do dazai justice. but if i get a request involving him, ill give it my best shot. i do have an idea (that i havent started writing yet) that heavily focuses on him, so ill have to write him eventually. thats one reason im rewatching the series honestly

personally, i see them as sworn brothers. thats how kaeya and diluc are referred to in the original, chinese version of the game and stories. which is not equivalent to adopted brothers. its a kind of like found family, friends who are close enough to admire each other, die for each other even, as if they were brothers, from my understanding of it. now i dont want to ramble about cultural differences and the meaning of sworn brothers so please do your research on that - im not chinese so im not the greatest source for this and am still learning about it myself. feel free to correct me if you are chinese and have a better understanding of this!

This is walter melon

Hes a hot-headed mess of a phsycopath boy, but we love him anyway. He loves a knife and likes even more to throw them at targets. Hes a little bit of a weirdo so he isnt good with people and is actively agressive to his brother stanlee in a tsundere fashion, loving him deep down, but despising him for existing. He has a very soft spot for his sweet baby honey dew though who he gives kisses on every occasion. He hasn't had the best past as his strange demeanour lead to him hanging around a lot of the wrong kind of people, ones who really encouraged his love of knives and didnt tend to stop him from doing dangerous daredevil things. After an unmentioned inccident, the only one left of that group there for him was Canary and its lead to him having a large distaste for people in general. However, hes an absolute loveable crazy one and we all love him.

This is stanlee melon

One of the kindest melon bois you will ever encounter, named after stan lee himself, stanlee is very sweet and prone to helping people and just being an in general Samaritan. Many who know him feel an overwhelming need to protect him from any dangers because hes just so darn sweet with his circle glasses. Hes very chilled and tolerable and gives away all his compassion, even to people that dont give him any back. An all round lovely one.

This is phara melon

She is the older sister who treats her two siblings like children, looking out for stanlee and forever scolding walter for his stupidity and dangerous nature. She looks out for the two of them and shes a lot more mature and gives them relationship help, although single herself. She also has a pink dog named lolly

This is devon cantelope

They are cool with a capital C. They have that certain charm that just makes people instantly want to be their best friend. Luckily for him, they have a certain eye for a sweet boy named stanlee! They love boba tea to an unhealthy obsession and they arent seen anywhere without their signature denim jacket an sunglasses. Theyre also the only one with they/them pronouns though he/him is also one he uses every bow and again(it usually depends on whether i remember that their pronouns were supposed to be they and just used he accidentally because i was tired, so it stuck)

This is honey dew

Perhaps even sweeter than stanlee, honey dew is fragile and insecure. Hes the kindest thing and when he falls in love he fallllllllllls. Hell do anything to be around the people he loves and he cant stand to see any of them upset. He is very affraid of a lot of things so jes very hspoy to have walter, a brave chaos boi, to protect him all the time.

Lastly, this is Canary

Shes the most recent addition. Shes a real emo kid and right dick to people. Shes very reserved and all she has plot wise is that she was the last and only person willing to come to the rescue for walter after an unnamed incident with his toxic old friends.

Story set up: its not super serious its just me having fun

Stanlee and walter are brothers and are human versions of watermelons i have created. They are my lovely melon sons so please treat them well.

Stanlee met Devon and instantly fell in love with their lovely hair, their heterochromia, their love of boba tea and denim, he was hooked. However, so was walter. Walter and stanlee began to both attempt to catch devons eye.

The battle begins. Its not really a battle in stanlees mind since he isnt competetkve, in fact he'd be happy for walter if he managed to score devon. Walter on the other hand is determined to beat stanlee and laugh in his face. He requires the assistance of someone he knows he can rely on, his friend honey dew, the sweetest little thing in the world. Although honey is holding onto a crush of his own, he wants to spend time with walter, so he does his best.

In the end devon just tells walter to give up. Devon wants stanlee and promptly asks that walter leave him alone and stop stalking him and trying to win him over. Heartbroken, walter goes into ice cream eating depression rejection hours.

Honey checks on him regularly and lets him rant on and on about devon until one day he just snaps and kisses walter, very pissed off by how ignorant walter is to his feelings

There we have two happy couples now theyre all lovely. Canary and phara are kinda just there they dont have much plot relevance

Sell me on TMA i have all the time in the world rn by my executive dysfunction refuses to start things without help.

first off i really feel the struggle youre having here starting new things is. awful. i just cant tbh

okay: why to listen to TMA, under a cut because why not.

tldr? its good quality, low emotional investment is demanded of you to start due to the simple nature of its algorithm and the gradual story/world building, the writing is interesting and the episodes are short with good atmosphere. if spooky gets to you too badly, dont worry because theres a trigger warning list somewhere on the internet, and the writing is respectful.

tma selling points:

its good and consistent quality from the beginning. its a simple answer but honestly the hardest part of getting into new stuff FOR ME is the first few episodes where im Put Off by trying to understand this new tone, all while the creators are still figuring out what theyre doing which... makes for a rough start sometimes.

tma has a very simple algorithm. dude named jonathan sims is working at a place that collects peoples accounts of “possibly supernatural encounters”, he’s recording himself reading off the story, (or its a recording direct from the person), he tells you what research they’ve done on the subject, the end. here and there you get to hear about the stuff thats going on at the place jon works at, building a second layer of storytelling to the whole thing. its fun, its easy to listen to, and 

you dont have to get super invested right away. just turn on this podcast where they, in like idk twenty minutes?? tell you about something Scary that happened to Someone Else and that has no effect on you or your life but still has all the chilling atmosphere and Very good writing that makes it an enjoyable time. i mean YEAH it gets scarier and more personal later but by then youre ready for it.

this one is a personal note but, like, i get it. its intimidating seeing the fandom being So Passionate because it gives the message that you too!! have to gear up to get super into this wonderful fantastic compelling emotional heartbreaking story uwu. nothing wrong with fandom being passionate thats....... what its there for...... but that specifically has made it hard for me to get into new things before.

just let yourself enjoy it at your own pace tbh. i really enjoyed it before i got overwhelmed by fandom stuff and took a very long break but like. block all the tma tags, hit play,and have fun. thats my advice.

you get to hear someone try to sound spooky while reading off the required licencing info at the end of the podcast and its pretty funny but endearing

the writing is good. the voice acting is good. jonny sims knows his stuff and he really enjoys what he does and it comes out in what he creates.

hi! this is gonna sound SUPER uneducated, because on this subject, I am!! everyone i follow on tumblr, and I mean like everyone, has been posting about some smp or something lately? idk it seems to be a group of youtube folks? and i wanna get into it so i can understand my dash, but i don't know where to start or who's even involved. kinda like with the mcu, but thats besides the point. help? please? -bluebell

sure! so im not sure if your talking about dream smp or the new smp (cog smp?) so ill “briefly” talk about both under the cut. also a bit about hermitcraft bc i think people should watch hermitcraft

DREAM SMP:

dream smp is....a lot. it started with a few of Dreams friends making a survival world, continued into a hamilton roleplay, and is now....corrupt government ran by a traumatized 16 year old whos best friend is thought dead but is actually in hiding with a war criminal? its a lot of fun. to start, id suggest following one character primarily. I watch Technoblade (the war criminal) and Philza (war criminals friend and also kinda a criminal? idk hes just vibin), but you should just bounce around streams to find who you like. the most popular streamers on the smp are probably Tommyinnit, Tubbo_, Wilbur Soot, and itsFundy, but there are a TON to watch.

also, dont stress out about missing streams!! because of how many streamers are involved, there is almost constant content, so it really is a community effort to know what happens in streams. As someone who only watches technos streams, and rarely catches Philzas, i have a very small amount of knowledge gained directly from the streams, and most of it is from liveblogs and recap posts here on tumblr!

also also, don’t worry about not knowing the lore. the wiki (https://dreamteam.fandom.com/wiki/Dream_SMP) is extremely detailed, but its hard to know everything. you can start by watching recap videos (tommy and wilbur both post highlight videos on youtube) or you can jump in with streams, either is fine and as long as you’re having fun, you’re doing it right!!

OH and dont get too emotionally invested. like, not not emotionally invested, but if something gets to be too much, take a break and watch something or someone else. a lot of people had to stop watching tommys exile arc, which involved a lot of manipulation by c!dream (that means character dream, not the actual dream) and quite a few self destructive intentions by c!tommy, and so many people tag that arc as #exile arc. 

uhhhh id suggest starting with techno because,,,,i love him. his ‘past livestreams’ playlist on Youtube has all his dream smp streams, and he has a few videos about whats happened. ive been doing liveblog posts of alllll his streams with timestamps so if u want me to link those,,,,feel free to ask

some selling points: more queer relationships than straight relationships, because why not. one of the characters had a sexual relationship with a fish, had a fox son, and that character (who is now a ghost) is now in a relationship with a blue sheep named friend. the ghosts father had him with a samsung smart fridge. one of the characters has taken over the world with the fridge fucker, and was in retirement before forcefully taken to an execution where he escaped death and then found a raccoon boy in his basement eating his gapples (golden apples). also the raccoon boys music discs are basically what started the entire plot. 

COG SMP: a modded smp created by Ranboo, Fundy, Tubbo, 5uppp, and Awesamdude!! it was started today and it looks to be pretty chill :D

ALSO IF UR TALKING ABOUT HERMITCRAFT: 

hermitcraft is a multiplayer survival whitelisted server with several people. its currently on its 7th season and focuses mostly on building and redstone, but does include roleplaying aspects. the hermits are incredibly talented, and i use it to relax after freaking out over dream smp!! content is primarily in the form of edited videos, but people do stream, especially on ‘hermitcraft stream weekends,’ where theres pretty much always someone streaming for a specific amount of time. i really like Grian, Joehills, and mumbo!! its a lot of fun and i highly recommend it

1. Mob Psycho 100

this is a really comforting show for me!! i really like the themes in it and the animation, humor, and story are all super great!! all the characters are really well written!!! and the animation is really unique and the fight scenes are super cool!!!!! its a really good, wholesome show thats told in a unique way and idk its just really good!!!!!!!

2. Osomatsu-San

this show means a lot to me personally bc when i was a huge fan of it, a lot of stuff was happening in my life. lots of good things and some bad things. idk it just makes me kind of nostalgic i suppose. also!!! its a really good show!!! i loveeeee the humor in this show!! its comedy is fast paced and not a lot of anime are like that!!! and it gets the familial relationships pretty accurate i think!!

3. Natsume's Book of Friends

i love natsumes book of friends a lot!!! its super relaxing to watch and it makes me feel comfortable and chill. this anime really feels like home to me. i relate a lot to natsume and its really comforting to see that life really can get better.

this one is really good!! i really like the humor in this one!!! its also pretty fast paced!!!! i really love the characters in this one and i relate to saiki somewhat.

hi b! ooooookay wow finally the 38 flights i went on last year will come in handy!

packing:

okay traveling by yourself if you’ve never done it before won’t necessarily impact your packing - just be sure that if you have a small carry-on bag that you don’t have any liquids over 2.5oz and remember that like. if you forget something, a lot of hotels (if that’s where you’re staying) will have stuff you can use for free, just ask them. worst case they usually have some stuff you can buy but most places are like really nice. if you’re staying with friends/family, just ask if you forgot something!

most people usually do like a carry-on bag and a checked bag, but just do whatever you normally do, and then make sure your carry-on has your id/passport, your phone, a charger for said phone, your wallet, any meds you have or anything you can’t go for the entire flight without, and then something to do on the plane (book, game, laptop, tablet, etc)

my necessities: phone, wallet, passport if i’m going international, keys cause i usually have to get back in my house after lmao, laptop, chargers for laptop and phone, a portable charger, headphones

here’s the hard tip: acknowledge that you probably will forget something. i literally travel almost every month of the year and i forget one thing every time. but it’s gonna be okay. as long as you have your id/passport/wallet and phone, things will be okay

before you travel:

okay so i have the apps for like all the major airlines and i usually try to check myself in right when i’m allowed to (24hr before). if you’re on southwest, set yourself a reminder so you can check in exactly 24hr before the flight and make sure you get a decent boarding number cause they do it on first come first serve

otherwise, just check in and save a screenshot of your boarding pass to your phone. i usually just do everything with the boarding pass in the app or saved to my photos but you can get a paper copy at the airport as well, and don’t stress if you lose it or w.e once you’re past security cause the gate attendants can print a new one (or you can just use the mobile)

oh the other thing here is you can sometimes choose a different seat whilst checking in? so if you see the one that’s assigned to you and you Don’t Like It, see if any others are available that you might prefer. i always go for the closest aisle seat to the front when traveling alone

and ofc you’ll want to make sure you have some kind of plan for once you arrive at your destination for how you’ll be getting wherever you’re going - taxi, uber, ride from friend/fam, public transport, whatever, just kind of have an idea what you need to do so you’re not stressing once you land

this one is one that doesn’t apply to me, but definitely something to check and look into if needed: if you have any special requirements or needs whilst in the airport or flying, ie wheelchairs or special accommodations or w.e, make sure you know what you have to do when you arrive

leaving for the airport:

okay first and foremost, depending on your airport, you’ll want to be sure you arrive at least 1.5hr early (this is like my personal rule of thumb bc i usually fly in and out of moderately large airports and i have Massive Paranoia about traveling for some reason?? even though i take like 12+ trips a year? but most places require no less than 40ish minutes ahead of time, that’s like super tight though i do Not recommend) - keep in mind like. traffic and stuff, if you’re going to the airport during rush hour or w.e make time for that

if you’re not familiar with your airport and like getting in (bc there’s usually a massive amount of like exits and ‘turn here for this’ sort of things) talk to someone who is familiar with it or like. google maps it ahead of time and street view walk yourself through it, whatever you need to do to feel comfy so if you’re the one driving, you know where to go to park/etc. if you’re ubering or having someone drop you off, just be sure you know which airline you’re on as they’ll drop you off in the right place

checking in:

okay if you’re already checked in and you don’t have a checked bag, you can head straight to security, but if you do need to check your bag, use the kiosks they’re always faster and you don’t have to wait in line. it’s pretty self-explanatory, usually, just enter the identifying info and it’ll probably note that you’re already checked in and just say you have a bag to check. you can also print a physical boarding pass here if you want. the kiosk will print out your luggage tag and just follow the instructions to attach it to the bag. there’ll be like a drop off point (they’re usually p well-labeled) up by the actual people at desks so just head up there and have your id/passport and boarding pass ready cause they’ll want to check them

security:

okay 9 times out of 10 you probably will Not have tsa precheck but if you do, it’ll be somewhere on your boarding pass and you should look for/ask someone about the nearest tsa precheck line. it’s just convenient, cause you don’t have to remove laptops or take your shoes off and it’s usually the shortest line

if you don’t have tsa precheck, just find the nearest (and shortest) security line and have your id and boarding pass ready. if you’re using a mobile boarding pass, lock your screen rotation if you’ll be using the picture you took instead of the app (this is the most annoying thing lmao i’ve done it too many times and usually just try to use the app when i can cause it’ll lock the rotation and go full brightness automatically). then you’ll have to put the phone on the lil scanner and it’ll beep when it’s scanned and done

now, again, if you have any special needs whilst going through security, you’re probably familiar with what you’d have to do if it differs from the standard procedure, but otherwise just go through as you normally would

between security and boarding:

do whatever u want basically. get food, if you need it or if you think you’ll need it whilst on the flight. drinks are usually hella expensive so i try to bring my refillable water bottle (empty!) and then refill once i’m past security

basically how you spend this time is totally up to you. i usually grab food as needed then go chill by my gate, if it’s an airport i’m familiar with and i know how long it’ll take to get wherever i need to go, but you may be more comfy just finding your gate first and then sticking nearby to get anything you need. also i’m a big fan of the charging areas which a lot of airports have now, so if u wanna charge up i recommend

boarding:

every airline is different but there’ll usually be some kind of boarding group or order listed on your boarding pass, so just keep that in mind (ie american has like,,,,6 boarding groups? united has 9, southwest has their whole a/b/c groups, etc etc etc i think one even has like a 2a 2b or something idk that might’ve been in the uk but just look on your boarding pass) if you’re confused or w.e don’t be afraid to ask one of the gate attendants that stand at the front

basically nothing here is all that different if you’re alone, just pay attention when they start boarding and listen for your group, same rule of thumb goes with turning your phone on screen-rotation lock when you go to scan your boarding pass (if it’s the mobile pic you saved)

the goal here with boarding is to go as quickly as you can, but don’t stress if it takes you a second to get in your row! it’s okay, people aren’t as in a rush as they seem. definitely try to fit ur stuff under your seat cause otherwise it’s a pain to get up and get it from the overhead bins

the flight:

honestly just sit back relax and do whatever u normally do! usually there’s no reason this would be any different when traveling alone. aside from sitting near strangers which is annoying sometimes but in my experience if u pop some headphones in everyone leaves u alone

after the flight:

i mean generally just head out into the airport u landed in and look for baggage claim signs - regardless of whether u checked a bag or not, most ground transport out of the airport is near the baggage claim. so just follow signs (and generally the people leaving the plane) and make your way there. if you get lost, again, don’t feel bad abt asking someone to point you in the right direction

if u have a bag, most places have a display board that says which baggage claim you’re at (if they didn’t announce it on the plane when you landed) and you can wait there

once ur done, depending on your mode of transport out, you can follow signs! many of the bigger airports now have designated sections for rideshares like uber and lyft as well

I just use some color-protecting shampoo and it doesn’t have a specific scent written on it but it does smell sweet!

What is your favorite time of a day?

My dorm room faces east so in the mornings, it gets all this sunshine and soft lighting and it’s quiet and slow and honestly so beautiful.

Golden hour! I love when it’s the end of the day and all the excitement of the afternoon has been thoroughly enjoyed and now you’re a little bit tired so you’re just chilling with your best friends on the sand, just talking and having a drink and wishing you could stay in that moment forever. 

What do you worry about constantly?

Ahhhh have to agree here and definitely say the future! And where I’ll end up, and if I’ll have accomplished my goals, and whether or not I’ll be emotionally fulfilled 😔

I can’t think of a specific song that I’ve ever cried to, but I’ve definitely just had like, playlists on in the background while I’m sobbing in my room during a core meltdown LOL

Know that all your negative emotions, all that sadness or pain, is just temporary. You may feel this way now but you won’t feel this way forever, I promise. 

What are some things that make you tear up?

On the sad side, I don’t have the greatest relationship with my family and thinking about some of the worse times I’ve had related to that makes me tear up. 

On the happy side, I honestly cry when I think about my best friends and the people that actually do love me. I’m so grateful to have them in my life, it’s crazy. I don’t know how I got so lucky and I literally wouldn’t be here without them.

I love your original stim gifs. They help me realise how much of what I do in my day to day life is stimming, and help me become less ashamed of it. I think you've said before that you have trained yourself (maybe not the best word choice but I can't think of a better one) to stim more freely and stop repressing stims, and I'm wondering if you'd be willing to share how you did that?

hi anon! sorry this is later than i said it would be, i bought minecraft and then suddenly like 3 days disappeared… this is going to be a little rambly as ive not gotten more than 6 hours of sleep a night in the last two weeks i believe.

this got EXTREMELY long, so im gonna put it under a readmore:

first, im glad my gifs can help you feel more comfortable, thats a huge reason i make gifs and put them up! when i was first realizing i might be autistic, following people who posted stimming gifs made a huge difference in my self acceptance. (@elzear-stims was the first person i followed for autistic stuff, elz is less active on here now but elz has a lot of stimming gifs up still!).

recognizing things i do as healthy and autistic self-expression, beyond not feeling bad about it, also helps me be more intentional about doing what i need to take care of my brain and body. for example, i have a tendency to pull at hangnails when im stressed, especially when i have to talk to professors or things like that, and have made myself bleed lots of times before. now that i know why i do that (as a grounding stim, because im distressed), its a lot easier to redirect and remember to use one of the many stim toys i always have in my pocket.

second, training myself to not suppress my stims has been a process, and there are still times when i have to act nt because of school or lab. i dont have a foolproof method or anything, but here are some things that have helped me:

1) follow autistic people, and/or the stim freely tag, to help your brain normalize stimming as good and healthy. imo, knowing stimming is healthy on an intellectual level is different from changing your brains initial reaction. we live in a really ableist society, especially in a lot of parts of the internet with “cringe culture” etc. especially if you’ve been bullied or gotten in trouble with authority figures for stimming, its easy to have your first response to seeing someone stim be embarassment or the feeling that its wrong/incorrect. seeking out more content of people stimming can help convince your brain that its healthy and good, and changing that first response will transfer over to how you see your own stims too.

2) get some stim toys! doesn’t have to be anything expensive or fancy; some of my favorite stim toys are smooth rocks, beads on a string, soft fabric, and those spring/coil bracelets for keys etc. keep them with you in pockets or on a belt loop or something, and you can use them to stim during times you cant body stim. for me at least, Always having something to stim with made my brain want to stim more? since the norm is stimming, not suppressing stims.

2b) at this point for me, stim toys are something i primarily use when im somewhere i have to look nt (class, lab) or when im super overwhelmed and need to chill out post-meltdown (glitter jars and soft things and ear defenders are my go-to for those times). the rest of the time i default to body stims, which at this point are more natural to me. that doesn’t have to be true for you at all tho!

3) pay attention to things you do and a) notice the situation youre in and b) do them more and see how you feel! for example, ive always needed to have my legs crossed all the way (like with the foot hooked back around my calf?) to focus during tests; ive known this for a long time about myself but only knew Why recently; its a pressure stim! i also sit crosslegged All The Time. now i know why i do that (it helps me focus and stay grounded bc im autistic and its a pressure stim) and i can do it intentionally and also not try to sit “normally” because i Know now that will make me less able to pay attention.

4) have autistic friends or people you trust and can be your authentic self around! this one can be really hard, but in my experience being autistic is similar to being lgbt where the people you gravitate toward and want to be friends with usually end up being autistic or cousins (like adhd). i call people who probably arent nt “capital f Friends” actually. of my close friends, most are Friends and both my partners are autistic/adhd! this helps a lot with acceptance and also its really fun to stim with your friends and pick up their stims.

5) stim when youre walking places outside so your brain knows its allowed to stim out n about. when im walking home, i walk through a neighborhood and no one is ever out there (at this point if they are i dont care much but). so i just… let my body do whatever it wants on my walk home. which usually means raptor hands or idle flapping depending on enegy level, and bouncy/toe walking and clicky vocal stims that i try not to do the rest of the time bc they annoy people lol.
