hello, zak! for the fic ask, could you do “you can run, you can hide, but this email WILL find you!” (only if you’d like, of course! if not, then it’s fine!)
have a pleasant rest of your day!

hello, anon!! :DDD
for "you can run, you can hide, but this email WILL find you!" it was actually really interesting cuz the original premise was just "comedy fic vyn and marius emailing when they started the tutoring thing" so the seed for that was this bit:
from: Marius von Hagen [[email protected]] to: Vyn Richter [[email protected]] subject: Tutoring Details Cool, got this. See ya. ✌️ Sent from my iPhone
and then i went to bed and when i woke up the next day, i realized that to write this fic, i needed to bring in giann. and then i realized i wanted him to go missing over the course of the fic. when that became clear to me, the first thing i wrote was these bits
Look after him. Please. I know you’ll say yes. —Giann
and then vyn's reply which is
Giann, why does this sound like a goodbye?
because god, giann and vyn worked together supposedly closely and i really really wanted to explore that. explore what it meant for vyn, for marius, and for vyn and marius' relationship with each other
this fic is one of my faves cuz it turned out WAY WAY WAYYYY DIFFERENT than what i had originally set out to do. genuinely, i just thought itd be a back and forth comedy email epistolary but then i remembered that what i love so much about epistolary fiction is how words in a letter (or in this case, an email) cannot directly convey the pain the character is feeling
what epistolary fiction does instead is create the like....'outline' of the pain, so to speak, the line going around it that creates the edge of the shape. so that the pain is implicit. it's not in the words that are there, but it's in the words that arent. iM NOT MAKING SENSE AGAIN BUT YEAH
those were the two scenes i set down first. one that started the premise, and one that started the real story
thank you for the ask, anon :DDDD
