Not the same previous anon, but Mochi you would love A3! It's sooo good! And even though the English version of the game is not online anymore, everything is archived online so you can still watch the story. Even more so the game is still going strong in Japan, and the fans translate all the main parts! The main strength is definitely the characters personalities, backstories and relationships, aaannndd, there's a anime! Sorry, just had to gush a little about it, I think the twst fandom would love it too if they knew🥲🥲🥲

So a bit embarrassing, but I'm not actually a fan of mobile games or other games similar to twst if I'm being honest lol

Twst ended up being a chance because my friend is really into it and I wanted to play for them. I got into it cause I liked Disney and the idea of Disney villians turned into hot anime boys was so funny to me that I was determined to play for the bit at least.

Now, I really like the characters for twst and I love the story so far, but I'm not a big fan of like gacha games or games that have like a daily recharge thing going? If that makes sense. From what I can see online, I don't think A3! is something for me personally, but that's fine! Maybe I'll watch the anime if I need something to fill time, but I tend to stay in the same genre circle for my shows so we will see!

I wont talk about the weird cgi and how unprofessional it looks but about how inaccurate the trailer is because it pisses me off and I have to be a nerd about it <3

first of all, those are NOT minecraft mountains.

Yes such seeds exist and you can find smt like that super easily in the game but it does NOT look so blocky

Next, what the fuck happened to the flowers.

Alot of the plants, trees, etc look like a disrespectful rip off of minecraft

Talking about plants, the trees are a big wtf

On the first pic you can see the log is SO THIN. LIKE THINNER THAN A TOOTHPICK. In the second you can see it is thicker, but because the block that fell out is so Itty bitty, you have to make the tree thinner.

The tree is as wide as the players, and when the block falls out its bigger than whatever the fuck this is. Yes I understand they have to carry the blocks and they can't make it too big, but you know what's a good solution? - make the blocks bigger when they fall out, but make them shrink when they get close/get put into a chest or inventory. SO EASY

Also I know you can find pink sheep naturally in the game, but oh come on.

You want to show how sPeCiAl the characters are and that they're sOoOoOo special they found a pink sheep on their spawn but oh my God you could have just let it be a normal sheep.

We stay with animals, and WHAT HAPPENED TO THE POOR WOLF. THE SNATCHED WAIST???? WHAT DID YOU DO TO HIM ☹️

and why is the creeper so, fluffy. Creepers are NOT made out of fur they are made of what alot of minecraft players suspect rotten skin like zombies or a skin-alike material, but it is NOT fur.

Also, *wrong buzzer sound* llamas don’t just spawn naturally. Unless theres a wandering trader (or however theyre called in english) they aren’t able to spawn just like that. They also usually have the carpet on their back.

EDIT: TURNS OUT THEY DO SPAWN NATURALLY IN MOUNTAIN BIOMES. still the Llama being here looks like they just put her there to try and "be funny" ykwim?

I also wanted to also say, this one character I feel that they're gonna be the most stereotypical, annoying one out of the whole movie and my ears hurt just looking at them

I wanted to say that the portal shouldn't be blue but like. Only the nether portal is purple, it's unknown how other portals look so... yeah

But still wtf is this cube??? What's the fuck are you holding young man???

Also, talking about mobs, piglins dont look like that, they dont have red light in their eyes, they dont have those drum-things because THEY DONT EVEN EXIST IN MINECRAFT which i will get to latur. They aren’t able to build like that, they aren’t able to get wood for trapdoors and for the fences and iron for the chains. Also they do not even know how to craft, they probably domt even know what a crafting table is. And ghasts also aren’t able to be in the overworld. I understand that theyre invading the land ans taking over but still Like Cmon >:(

I also wanted to say that this is not how nether looks but like. It does a bit, like where the piglins usually spawn ykwim? so ill give them that, the nether looks alr

Anyway TALKING ABOUT THINGS THAT DONT EXIST IN MINECRAFT: whatever this is, it isnt craftable in minecraft, unless there are mods installed. But the „mods” excuse can be used for everything in this post. It was the first thing i saw that pissed me off so badly that i had to make this post because like JUST USE ALL THE STUFF THAT THE ORIGINAL FRANCHISE HAS TO OFFER! NORMAL BUCKETS WOULD PROBABLY WORK JUST FINE!

DRAWMEGLE DUMP FROM LIKEFORVER AGO

drawmegle was this weird little website that was like omegle, except for drawing and nominally fewer nazis?? tho at launch that was a bit of an issue lol (idk the creator went on vacation right after advertising or something? oops). i got sucked into it for like a day or two and ended up drawing a bunch of stuff. ive lost some of it because there was this weird glitch that just deleted my drawings before i could save them or anything. OH WELL. thats also the reason some of these are slightly unfinished. im also going to be cropping most of these to just my side, exceptions where its funny, or the other persons art was nice or whatever. just know that these almost all had people on the other side who were also drawing their own thing. also of note, i wont be posting these in order of creation, its mostly arbitrary tbh

this first one is of haru from dorohedodo. i had just finished reading the manga about a month or so prior, and i really loved this character a lot. disregard the amogus or whatever. dorohedoro is really cool and its really special to me now. not a fan of the anime adaption but what the fuck else is new (im sorry if you like the anime, i just didnt like the style very much). Q hayashida is brilliant, and she clearly just really loves women like a lot, thank you miss Q!

next is this silly drawing of knives chau. scott pilgrim takes off had just aired, and i was slightly enamored with knives for a bit, i kin the scott pilgrim girl fucking sue me. i also drew kim, but the drawing deleted and this was the last save i had WAHOOOOOO its so fucking over. scott pilgrim takes off was obviously really really good in my opinion, and its like the perfect way to adapt an original work in my mind. uh shout outs knives or whatever.

oops shitty cowboy bebop drawing. i like this one well enough for how goofy it is. jets fucking face still kinda gets me. i love bebop a ton, but i dont think ive ever drawn the characters despite that. theyre actually a ton of fun to draw, like their shapes are all super varied and they have distinct style about them. very good cast of characters. i didnt even realize or mean to, but i kinda gave spike a fucking granny face, oops

uuuuhthese pissing dogs are really funny, they were fun to draw, and seeing peoples reactions to this one in particular was cool. having even a little bit of ability to draw on sites like this where randos are looking at your work as youre drawing it is always kind of an ego boost. like none of these drawings are really that great, but for the medium im happy with them, and having people show up and go "woah" was always really flattering and it was fun watching the other people draw and interacting with them in some limited capacity.

ggggundam bullshit. i left the other persons side this time because i thought it was kinda funny. i had been rewatching the early part of turn A gundam, and it really reminded me how fucking cool that series is? loran is like top 10 gender non conforming mech pilots (there are a surprising amount honestly). and it always kinda takes me off guard when i watch any gundam because they were just so forward thinking in a nominally "boy" coded genre. shoutouts the fucking gundam staff frfr.

a lot of the shit in the second drawing is probably totally incomprehensible to like anyone outside of a select group. were both have that like, 3ds era nintendo brain parasite, so a lot of these are just weird obscure game characters or memes, or just straight up OCs. most of these are actually oretals little characters which have kind of entered that inside joke canon of being so ubiquitous between the two of us (and honestly i assume oretals friend group at large) that i kinda forget "glasses girl" isnt a well known character. many such cases. thank you oretal for drawing silly shit with me! i really like your drawing of james and your madotsuki yapping about blunt rotations to uboa. very cool

uuuh quick fire round of stuff i dont like how i drew but want to post anyways. the first one is my irl husband, aki from chainsaw man. i love him a lot, kinda hate this drawing tho, i think it was the first one i did? the second one is basil from omori, im a big fan of little blorbos who peep the horror, and basil is no exception. my friend got me the little vinyl figure of him for my birthday so i end up thinking about him a lot and i doodle him every now and then. very good design. the last one is kiruko from heavenly delusion. i did not have much hype going into the show after my middling feelings on summertime rendering (they were both in the news for being on disney+ for absolutely no reason). i dont remember what got me to watch it, but by the time episode 2 ended i was stuck in big time. i ended up binging the whole series in like one night and it was such a good time. the prototypical calcium show is probably somewhere between heavenly delusion and made in abyss. its a rough watch at times, but if you have this specific brainrot, its probably one of the best in its league tbh.

second to last is this drawing of vriska homestuck. i kept the other side because it was really pretty. im genuinely quite pleased witht his drawing, its not perfect but for what it is i find it visually appealing enough to like it. vriskas design is probably the best in homestuck, at least to me. its been a long time since ive read through homestuck proper, but something about these little shits sticks with you pretty much forever. actual fucking deadly brain parasites you get from dunking your head underwater in an infested pool, dead within days.

im just gonna say right off the bat. you know that i am not a "mojang lazy" person. doesnt mean im not critical of them. gonna give my nuanced view in this post. itll be a long one!

so... first of all, i just gotta say like, changing to having more "drop" updates instead of yearly summer updates is... thank god. i didnt wanna see mojang become gamefreak with yearly, formulaic releases.. hell, im kinda thinking. they're probably working on the big updates in the background now, while they can still keep people (and corporate people) satisfied, by delivering drops of content. and the other ideas they have? instead of being hecked over by priorities as much... they can actually just decide like "okay, we have more than a year to work on the big update. we can fit it in, so it doesnt get delayed back to the next big update" ...or, if its something small, then it wont be held up from releasing by like... waiting for the next Big Update. for example, if we had the drop releases back in 1.16, we could've had the ability to break leaves faster with hoes... waay earlier, instead of having to wait for the full nether update to drop. yknow? or, again using 1.16 as an example, if they have more ideas for the content in the Big Update, they can decide "yeah, we can put it in!" like how the allay was conceptualized for 1.16 but they didnt fit it in because well, they have more time to work on it! they can have bigger scope! more flexibility! ...but they're clearly still going for yearly key-jingling of shiny new content, i can see. like, as usual, its something new that is entirely self contained and doesnt really effect the rest of the game. its avoidable. which like, okay... i get it. i get why mojang doesnt want to make the game feel too different for people who come back to it after a while, but like. i dunno. i feel like- okay how about i actually just go over the features individually ...i appreciate the biome being a fantasy biome. ive kinda just accepted that mojang disregarded any plans to ever have non-real-life biomes in the overworld, unless they were underground like the deep dark. but nope! we can have weird white trees with freaky tree monsters!!! so, thats very nice. and the mechanics themselves seem really nice and interesting, its overall a very well put together vibe. weeping angels are overdone because theyre GREAT monster types !! theyre AWESOME!! and attaching the mob to like, having to destroy a block? thats prob the most interesting way to defeat a mob like the creaking! great gameplay and the biome has really cool hanging moss on the trees, and the moss carpets climb up blocks... but therein lies the problem -- its very self contained. its like, mojang. you just gonna.. keep developing really thoughtfully designed sidequests?? i'd like to see the main game experience updated... but alas this is a DROP and not an UPDATE, to be fair. its just like ...the new biome gets ambient sounds, which no other overworld biome has. now that sets the bar higher for updating older overworld biomes to also have that. i wouldnt have wanted it before, but now i do. same goes for like, new mobs having better animation systems, yknow? i wouldnt have wanted better animations, but now... you gotta update stuff even more , for consistency. adding so much to your plate, mojang and ... why does THIS moss carpet get to be cool and grab onto blocks?? why cant they have updated old moss carpet?? i feel like they probably WONT update it ... because ill be honest, my first thoughts were "this all couldve been in the dark oak forest" hanging moss? would look great on the trees moss blocks on the ground? would be great the creaking? yea, i think it'd be spooky as a dark oak ent! thing is the dark forest already has a pretty unique kinda vibe and playstyle to it, being a biome thats typically dark and spawns lots of mobs, and also. has lack of sight due to the big trees (1/2)

But let's say, for the sake of plot and perhaps some character stuff... there are rules for his abilities, which can prevent him from using them. Mostly cooldown stuff, which.. wouldnt prevent it much unless hes doing it a lot but.. hush, I dont have many ideas!!

Assuming you guys are locked in a room within the ship:

At first only you notice the door shutting. Itward doesnt notice it wont open until he goes to exit, only to find you're both stuck. Lets also say this is the only room with one exit; so the chemistry room most likely. Though if it were any of the other rooms, we can assume the second exit is also locked down

Itward would likely think that it's a malfunction of sorts, thanks to the doors not being manual push/pull doors... probably silently curses himself for not thinking about the possibility of a jam

Though, hes very clearly a skilled mechanic and engineer, so hes already thinking of what could be the issue and how to fix it

Probably gets way too sucked in taking off the button panel thing to get into the mechanics and wiring... it's not until he notices you quietly freaking out that he looks over his shoulder to check on you

Slowly drops the spare tools he keeps on him (I mean.. we DID see him pull a wrench out of no where when he started working on his ship during the fire berry thing... perhaps he keeps them within his bones? Like his rib cage? Like obviously it was just the game trying to save time from hydt having him pull one out rather than animate him picking one up from the ground buuuuut I'm silly)

Quietly asks if youre alright

A silly question, he can admit, hes been around many people and this is no new sight for him..

Barely refrains from putting a hand on your shoulder but stops before he reaches you, afterall hes never seen you like this and he doesnt know if you're okay with touch

Assures you that he will have the door open soon, correctly assumes that that is the issue... I mean, he can understand why it's scary, I mean, to be trapped like that. No one would like that

(Ignore that he did the same to fran, albeit non maliciously)

Refuses to get to work on the door (doesnt even realize hes prolonging the issue) until he can get through to you and help you

Hangs onto every word you say, and delivers anything you need

Need a hug? He will wrap his arms around you, and perhaps even purr. Need reassurance? He'll let you know the door is just jammed and he will fix it soon enough. Need to fill the silence? Itward will rattle on about things to keep it from going wuirt5

As soon as the door is opened he steps out of the way, letting you exit first

Keeps a close eye on you for a few hours after the fact

If you guys get locked in a closet

This one is already way worse thanks to the limited wiggle room as well as the darkness. The only light is coming from itwards eyes, and even then its not a lot

You guys are pressed up against each other, but this little scenario is not at cheesy or romantic... itward can feel your heart beating against him, so he immediately knows something is wrong

It's too tight and cramped to move, so itward trying to force the door open or mess with the button panel is a no go.. really, of all the doors to have a manual door, the broom closet should have been the one to have it..

Honestly I think he tries 1 of 3 things

Force the door open with his strength (can he do that? We know that in terms of his powers hes packs a bit of a punch, he managed to face off remor to buy fran time in chapter 1, but I'm unsure of how strong he is physically)..though hed have to try to twist around to face the door

Knock on the door with his foot to try to get someones attention for help, and perhaps guide them through how to open the door

Or three, try his little teleporting trick and take you with him

Regardless of what option he goes through, he can't deny that theres something wrong with you

Unfortunately of you need a hug he cant, given the limited room.. plus you may feel claustrophobic enough..

Tries to give nervous reassurances as he tries to come up with an idea

Most likely case is the teleporting thing, assuming he has the capabilities of doing so in that moment

But just know as soon as you guys are free hes sitting you down at the table in the main area of his ship and making you a cup of tea

Quietly asks you if everythings alright

Similarly, he keeps a close eye on you for a while after this

2. Is there a trope you’ve yet to try your hand at, but really want to?

Memory loss, but also growing old together. I think both tropes would require a lot of care and nuance to go into characterization that'd be very interesting to me

4. How many fic ideas are you nurturing right now? Care to share one of them?

Quite a few, actually! A couple of one-shots I'm working on, but also long-fics that I'm not sure whether I'll have the time or energy to tackle

The one most likely (still unlikely) to see the light of day is a post-rumbling, fake-dating fic because everyone's trying to get the new ambassador of peace to marry their daughter and Armin is (and Annie) just getting sick of it all

I mostly want it to be Armin-centric, everything that "Take my hand" fic was meant to be but couldn't (sorry Moon)

8. Share a snippet from one of your favorite dialogue scenes you’ve written and explain why you’re proud of it.

This probably wont' be the most honest/accurate answer, but since my brain has been flooded with ch 20 for the past 2 weeks-ish straight, it's gotta be this:

“I knew it, you and your plans,” Annie breathes with a small laugh, and it’s enough to make him smile, too. It always is. “What? You’re planning on marrying me on a remote beach somewhere?” “I will,” he promises. “You’ll get sand in your shoes.” She smiles. “Our friends will all be there.” He hopes. “The cake will get dirty.” She frowns. “I’ll promise to love you,” he vows. “We’ll spend the whole night brushing sand out of our hair instead of anything fun.” she pouts. “Yeah.” “I think I’d like that, Armin,” she murmurs, voice soft in his ears as she shuffles closer.

Dialogue is already not my strongest suit, so whenever I find myself writing bits that just flow between the two characters, I'm immediately pleased!

11. Is writing your passion or just a fun hobby?

Is there a difference between the two? I've been writing stuff and imagining worlds and scenarios since as far back as I could remember. I find writing to be an excellent practice of empathy and compassion, for not only people I may otherwise not fully understand, but also extending it to myself and how I may be feeling at specific times but having a hard time realize

definitely a passion!

12. Is there an episode above all others that inspires you just a little bit more?

I wouldn't say an episode/chapter, since I'm mostly consuming aot as whole arcs. But definitely the final arc, not only for aruani, but also as a life philosophy, if that makes sense lol

15. If you could choose one of your fics to be filmed, which would you choose?

I mean... I wanna saw BW, since that's the apple of my eye, but I also fail to see how so much internal monologue and emotional writing can be distilled into an image (but then again, I'm not well versed in the visual arts)

16. If you only could write one pairing for the rest of your life, which pairing would it be?

I may be biased to my current writing, but I can totally see myself exploring a wide variety of human emotions and circumstances with Armin and Annie in the aot universe and outside it

Never been in one before. It's intriguing but also the perfect opportunity for my imposter syndrome to step in and fear of disappointing other writers I may be working alongside

28. Share three of your favorite fic writers and why you like them so much.

It'd be hypocritical not to mention @/you first! Not only is your writing incredibly poetic and artistic in nature, it also delves into the very depths of a character's emotions. It feels like I'm writing something that should be categorized as literary, instead of just writing or fiction

Yes and no. When I do I usually only do it for very short drabbles just as an exercise in writing and have some "mindless" fun so I don't have to stress over every single word I write

December Game Dev Progress

Hey everyone, I hope you had an awesome December and a great new years!

This month I've been feeling kinda bleh, with that and it being the holidays I've tried to take things a bit slower.

Game Features

Camera Rework

Changed how the camera works, took out the smooth zoom and made the Camera only exist at rounded x/y value of the Player. This fixed the weird scaling issues when zooming where you'd see things being 1 pixel wider or taller than they should be and the sprite wobble glitch when you stop moving.

Snow Rework

Changed how Snow and Wet Sand are generated and stored when Culled

I'm now storing them in a ds_map and a ds_list, so I can check a ds_map cell to see if there isn't snow there already for creation, and use the ds_list for quick searching for an existing one to destroy when removing them. Very important to remove BOTH entries when I remove one!

I'm also now checking against the AI collision map that Goblins and Animals use to see if they can move into an area. This saves me making a another whole check list of things, but since Grass isn't in the AI collision map, I've just made it so Snow can spawn under it for consistency.

I'm going to have to do something about how much Snow can exist at once though, since it's eating into the frame rate. Figuring out how to merge them into one object might work, or drawing them all at once with depth sorting maybe?

HMM! Reworked Weather to be localised?

This will save me loads of frames by not covering the whole island in snow. If necessary I can have multiple spots, and maybe even have them move? I guess the trick now is figuring out how to make it less square, I do have them set up for random width/height. I can probably use the shape system from the world gen that makes the rocks and trees etc, so it'll use the square but only place snow if it's in the circle of the square. This wont work with random sizes though, I'll have to have the shape in an array for each width/height variety so that's no good really.

What about having it move?

I like this but I think I need a cloud, seems weird just appearing out of nowhere?

Not quite a cloud but it'll do for now as proof of concept

Reworked the shape/size and changed the angle of Rain!

Also reworked how Snow and Wet Sand despawn, they now have life which decreases based on correct weather, their distance to weather cloud and the season! So for example, Snow melts faster in Summer!

Rain now waters Crops and Plant Pots in a specific area!

Slight issue with the Wet Sand despawning here, forgot the divide the coords by 16 to get the ds_map cell position!

Saving/Loading

Got Snow saved!

Also Weather and Time are now saving!

Update! New Weather system saves! :D

Slight graphical glitch there, I was had the code the sets up the Particle system being loaded AFTER the system was started :S FIXED!

Item Gifting

I reused the Players Inventory screen and also updated the Chatting system to get this working right. Goblins will have likes and dislikes but for now their response is random.

I'm going to add emotes to the portrait and a heart meter to the UI box, like with Pets!

Like so! I actually just used the exact same UI, just moved some things around and added a condition to get menu options based on if NPC or Pet. :D

Free Cam

No idea what this will be used for, maybe just cutscenes? But it's set up now!

There was a some more stuff I was working on but got distracted trying to track down a bug where something was trying to access outside a grid. Never found what :| Also fixed a bunch of problems I made for myself with the Minimap where it wasn't updating properly. Turns out I'd changed the surface cleanup code from surf = -1; surface_free(surf); to surface_free(surf); surf = -1;

while the second version makes logical sense, seems it doesn't work that way.

Ok so by the request of @j2lx, a 500 word essay on any topic thats related to the people i simp for. And hence, i proudly present,

WHY CHROMES ARCLIGHT FRAME BEATS GLORY AND DESERVES BETTER

Here are my criterias. (Disclaimer everything here is purely my own opinion and my love for chrome)

I could go on a whole day about this but look arclight needs more lines. In comparison to the newer character frames, he has so few poses. BUT HIS LINES AND LITTLE GESTURES MAKE ME GO INSANE.

Like look at him going all shy and there are what, 5 of them?? Just imagine if we had more, how cute they would be. CHROME BEING SHY IS SO GODDAMN ADORABLE.

These are literally the only 2 that make me feel anything but even then. IT DOESNT COMPARE TO ARCLIGHTS VOICELINES. Its almost as of he's grown a little more distant from shikikan after the new frame :(

Next Coatings

So since we have the standard ultima looks above, lets go with those first. So i wont deny that the glory frame looks better. (it's what made me get chrome after all) But i love the little ear decives chromes arclight frame has. Theyre jsut so cute but overall, in terms to standard frames, glory wins.

Very honestly speaking, glorys animations and effects are better. Especially when the game ends and if youre caught in the midst of his signature or some attack. Although I'll admit that sometimes we get really strange angles

I cant really decide but I'll pick glory on this one. Simply because its really fun to just randomly ping an orb towards the end and hopefully get a cooler looking pose right before they play the battle end animation.

someone broke into my apartment. I havent been on because the only thing i have that i can access the internet on is my work computer ( i can get into trouble for using even spotify on that) and my switch ( just got it last monday. in another situation id be ecstatic about getting a new game system, but right now im just glad i didnt leave it out in the open)

small town does not equal no crime. After the (insert wherever the power comes from) was fixed, it has some issues and shut down again a few days later. idk why. My rm and i decided to walk to the gas station for lunch, they had power, music, cold drinks and food, and bathrooms that have functioning lights. Our landlord said it would only be a few hours, so we used our backup battery packs ( yes the ones we’re only supposed to use for work or incase of emergency) to power a fan and opened a window (the little net thing closed) for the cats and left.

because we were only going to be away for an hour, i left my phone (by accident) and tablet on the couch. in plain view of the window.

well, we have a lot of college students who walk directly by out porch ( i even had a girl threaten to call the cops on me for smoking… on my own fuckin porch) and two other girls who decided it was public chatting place and were upset that interupted them wheni asked them to leave.)

we dont know if it was a college student, or someone else, called the cops and got it all sorted there wasnt much they could do ( figures)

they came in through the window, and we think they either left it open, or that Patches, one of my cats, got out when the opened it, because she was gone when we came home, and she liked to hang out by the window. Thankfully, miso hates going outside, and katsu is scared of everyone and hides when people come over. we still havent found patches. im not worried about her, she didnt really like us, she isnt declawed, and she was orginally an outdoor cat anyways. we left out food and water and liter for her, but if she comes back she comes back. ive lost enough animals not fret over it. (tbh if it was on of the other two id probably sob)

but whoever broke in stole a bunch of my game stuff. we dont think they even went into out bedrooms, cause nothing was out of place. it took me realizing some of out stuff, the cat and the askew window (what the fuck is that thing called??) to realize we’d been robbed. ( well me actually, my roomate keeps all his stuff in his room which is fair because other than HBO i pay for all the streaming services, and i (thankfully still have) 4 consoles, which wont fit in my tiny ass room.)

they took my phone and tablet. (not worried about the phone, it was some dinky burner phone) a package off our porch ( it was mario kart, i got a switch like last monday, and the only game i have is animal crossing. very fun. thankfully, id left it on my desk.) they also took a few of my games, thankfully i have duplicates of most of the ones they took and digital copies.

ironically, the version of TLOU and FO4 (i have 4 copies of fo4 including the digital copy) were the scratched up versions, they did take my copy of infamous for the ps3. and they also took my unopened copy of RDR2. so like, pricey items but the only thing im upset about are my tablet and my cat.

for those wanting the drawings i promised, i will still get them to you, thankfully i had a warranty on it and its getting replaced after the police finish whatever it is they say they do. ( doubtful) so it may take a hot minute.

however it also means i have to completely restart my issue 2 of my comic, as i hadn't saved the final pages and the wips anywhere other than my phone and tablet. personally, im frustrated, but it gives me a chance to change a few wee details and try out a style ive been thinking on.

so im probably not going to be super super active for the next few (idk how long, im sorry) but i will draw what i said i would.

As for patches, i told my mom if she comes back pregnant ( again -_-) that we are going to yeet her into a rocket to live with the martians, and get a new cat. (or if she doesnt come back. we work best with a three cat ratio) if its boy we are probably going to name him garbanzo. (this is mostly a joke, but she was intended to be temporary as a friend of mine couldnt keep her anymore and we had been looking for a home for her. surprisingly, nobody wanted a super chill calico who enjoyed nothing but food and sitting directly on your trachea.)

anyways, im tired. ill be patiently waiting for my new tablet and trying to make my ACNH island as destroyed and apocalyptic as possible. a tale of two minecrafts (of which i love)

(nonetheless there are two) (and i dont mean bedrock and java, or vanilla and modded) (two ideas of what constitutes the identity of the game)

i will move forward as minecraft moves forward. but its a bit of a bummer, to think of. sometimes thats what ill say for now. ominously. ill make a post about this whole schtuff later perhaps. either way todays snapshot is amazing and god im i am indeed loving the future of minecraft with these minor-yet-major updates. it just happened to do something that reminded me of what the devs prioritize as being minecrafty. that being.. Not Jank

end of the day i know that i love mc tho. both potential directions to take mc. i aint gonna try and tell people that they shouldnt enjoy where the games going :p it'd be such a dumb Boomer thing to do to be like waahh back in my day XYZ, which was Definitely 100% Better !!

tldr ill say for now is that i'd group together the old bundle controls with old rigid mob animations and with lack of keepinventory and that id group together the really nice to use bundle controls and the really nice mob animations and all that game design with... well. i suppose its just more friendly, intentional, and clean as opposed to janky, aesthetics and gameplay decisions. yknow? theres certain new-aesthetic things i love, like the new music. but i also wont deny that it definitely feels like it groups well with the new mob animations that are livelier. aka its , definitely mojangs vision, to make minecraft more of a Polished feeling game. intentionally relaxing music, intentionally designed dungeons, and . clear advancements that tell you what content they're proud of

if anyone is CURIOUS about what the hell i mean then like. yeah ill make a post talking more about this but ill just clarify that my ultimate goal is to remember to not be a grumpy boomer about anything about minecrafts new direction. which isnt hard. because its easy to love. like the sniffers animations. they DO have so much personality, they're really amazing. even if i think that isnt where i'd have taken minecraft personally its where its going and... sure! itll grow and change. just. wish mojang would at least acknowledge they're cleaning up the games image to be less jank lol

I shan't let it bring me grumpiness. rather i will learn to love the growth, and move forward with the game. pushing against it would be a lot more of a mental toll, and generally less whimsical!

but we'll all find our moments with any game that gets continually updated, where we feel out of touch with it. at those moments, is when we shall remember... yeah, okay. not for me, but probably good for the game itself actually having a future. (and again this. really isnt over todays snapshot, it was just moreso brought to my mind as something i had wanted to post about)

Issue #01-Super Metroid

Welcome to The Ash Stacy Video Game Hour, something new that I'll be trying out.! So what is this even? Well to no ones suprise i am a huge nerd. And this little collum which i will also post on my website once i make it will be me talking about... whatever! As long as its nerd stuff! Could be a movie i watched, a video game i beat or any topic that interests me. Sometimes multiple per issue!

On tonights episode we'll start off small talking about a video game i beat 5 minutes ago as of writing this paragraph!

Super Metroid is a game that most of you have probably already heard a bit about. Possibly due to the announcement of prime 4 or due to its massive fanbase and speedrunning community. It's the third mainline game in the Metroid saga and stars Samus Aran after the events of Metroid 2, or Metroid Samus Returns, they both ckcer the same events so take your pick. After giving the baby metroid to the space fedaration it is kidnapped by Ridley! Samus must track it down and find it. That's all i'll say about the story for now. If you haven't played the game, go play it and then come back. Or don't. I'm not a cop.

"But Ash! What did YOU think of the game" Well im getting to it be patient. I found the game to be a delight, although i had to use a walkthrough for the end game it was a great experience, sprite work was beautiful and the gameplay was fun yada yada we all know this game is great. 9 john metroids out of 10.

Anyways time for the hate because it is fresh.

Mother Brain is the worst boss fight in history*

*exaggerated for comical effect, I played the orignal Megaman i've fought worse.

The boss starts the moment you enter a hallway and get attacked by yellow... circles... Hey i knew that megaman refrence was relevant! But you can destroy the circles so not that bad right? Wrong. Most thing you can destroy in this game drop hp or missiles. Not theese things. No. That would be kind. And Nintendo R&D1 is not kind. Theese balls drop nothing, spawn constantly and prevent you from breaking the barriers which require missiles to destroy. If you run out of missiles in that room then too bad. Perish. And then after you get pass that you get to Mother brain, who's glass can only be hurt by missiles.

After doing that tedious process of being kicked into lava and trying to not miss you go to phase 2 were she can be hurt by charge beams, because you will most likely be out of missiles. Then you have a actually fun time dodging the boss and retaliating until the rainbow beam. If you have 299 hp left you will not win the boss fight. You will automatically die. Of course this clever game desing the more energy tanks you collected the easier the boss is so i wont harp on it to much but i died so many times to that so i get to be comically angry. And then Big Boy Metroid saves you and Samus keeps up the record of blowing up every planet she steps foot on. You also save some cute animals.

Aside from that great game, the physics were a bit wonky and i have no idea how to time the space jump and i hsed a walkthrough for the latter half but great game will replay it one day!

My First Ever Ship

This is my first ever attempted at making a ship in magic voxel but you may be asking from the get go why magic voxel? Why did I chose this over any other way of making my assets or art such as Maya or even photo shop. Well I chose to make my ship in magic Voxel because this art soft where is the best for my games art style as my art style is simple but effective what I mean by this is a art style that does not look realistic or even close to looking really but an art style that from a graphical point of view does not look bad. I new going into this project that art was not my strong point but I still wanted to make a game that didn't look bad so I chose to work with Magic voxel because it is easy to use get use to and over all keeps your art nice looking but not supper detailed or hard to do. I also based my art of this game off of games such as Minecraft, Paint The Town Red and TABS.

I also wanted to make a 3D third Person game so I didn't want to work in photo Shop because I of course didn't want to make a 2D game as I just said. I also thought Maya would be to much detail for the game I wanted to make so I decided to go with Magic Voxel.

As you can see above I made a ship and was very happy with how it termed out. It was not everything I wanted it to be however It in the end I thought anyway trend out very well. I tiered to look at a Minecraft ship tutorial and follow that However I wont lie I do think My ship ended up terming out quit different but for the better. As this ship is much bigger then I thought it would be.

I gave the ship sails however I only gave the ship the posts for the sails as I thought if it came down to animation of the sails I would need to have them as a separate magic voxel assets so if I needed to I would be able to animate the sails to do what I want them to do.

I also thought about adding in a steering wheel for the ship however chose not to because I once again thought I may wish to animate this later down the line so I will need to have it as its own septet object to animate them.

I wanted to add Canons to my ship as I wanted there to be cannons on my ships I did for a Minute think about making the cannons as there own serpent things so that I could animate them but I decided to not do that as I feel this would not only take to long but also because I don't need there to be a Cannon to firer something I can just code in Un real engine where I want the Cannon balls to fire from and then add effects from there.

In the end I don't think Ill use this in the end as my main ship for my game but I will probably end up using it as an enemy ship that you the player will have to fight and take down it is very large so could even be a boss in the game. And I think I will have the ship be called Galion so it is very large very power full and over all a boss fight.
