man but shipwrecks are the most terrifying and awe inspiring things ever and they're just goddamn down there hanging out haunting the sea silently beneath us
#if i didnt suffer horrific sea sickness and an absolutely crippling fear of underwater structures#id have been a marine archaeologist#as is stands im still getting my scuba cert next year#and slowly and surely im getting over my submechanophobia#sort of#a bit#i snorkeled in and around a sunken tugboat and some ship detritus off the coast of curacao a bit ago#but meanwhile i couldnt even LOOK at the industrial shipyard or the large mooring buoy there without wanting to pass out so#baby steps i guess lol#im hoping i do better when i can stay deep in the water more level with objects as opposed to being primarily above them with just#occasional free dives down#dense rambles
