I decided to put everyone into one post and to talk about some assosications I have with the characters and their cards

The Fool (Folly, mania, extravagance, intoxication, delirium, frenzy, bewrayment. [If the card is] Reversed: Negligence, absence, distribution, carelessness, apathy, nullity, vanity.) Of course it is Han Juwon in the begining if the story. "In many esoteric systems of tarot card interpretation, the Fool is interpreted as the protagonist of a story, and the Major Arcana are the path the Fool takes through the great mysteries of life." He is a Fool afterall: careless in his investigation, doesn't think about the people around him. He thinks he is the smartest guy in the room and the bestest boy in the area.

The Lovers. Here I decided to interpret it in the most literal way. But the card itself provides quite a nice explanation too. "6. THE LOVERS.—Attraction, love, beauty, trials overcome. Reversed: Failure, foolish designs. Another account speaks of marriage frustrated and contrarieties of all kinds." I really love the ending. The whole reunion thing is straight out of the romance story. That's why I chose this image to represent this card. The moment of piece at last.

The Hermit. When I first thought about this collage idea I was absolutly sure who should represent this card. "9. THE HERMIT. Prudence, circumspection; also and especially treason, dissimulation, roguery, corruption. Reversed: Concealment, disguise, policy fear, unreasoned caution."

The High Priestess. Oh Jihwa my beloved. There were several posts about her recently. She is a wonderful character. "Secrets, mystery, the future as yet unrevealed; the woman who interests the Querent, if male; the Querent herself, if female; silence, tenacity; mystery, wisdom, science. Reversed: Passion, moral or physical ardor, conceit, surface knowledge." Tell me this is not about her, I'll wait.

The Sun. The Moon. The Star. I thought it would be really symbolic to choose three young (and dead) characters to represent this cards. (of course, LDS is alive and old now but I think we can considr his younger self to be buried somewhere really deep in his mind. He wasn't the same person he'd been before his sister disappearance). Another thoought that I had in mind while making these three pieces was that scene from the first episode. The dialogue with Mother and her friend. "You are so lucky to have your daughter. Such a pity the God decided to balance it with your son." How almost everyone thought that Lee Yuyeon was a blessing and her brother - just a delinquent.

19.THE SUN.—Material happiness, fortunate marriage, contentment. Reversed: The same in a lesser sense.

18.THE MOON--Hidden enemies, danger, calumny, darkness, terror, deception, occult forces, error. Reversed: Instability, inconstancy, silence, lesser degrees of deception and error.

17.THE STAR.--Hope and bright prospects, Reversed: Loss, theft, privation, abandonment; another reading says: arrogance, haughtiness, impotence.

Kang Minjeong is a little star flickered out too soon.

The Magician. "Tarot experts have defined the Magician in association with the Fool". "While the upright Magician represents potential and tapping into one's talents, the reversed Magician's potential and talents are unfocused and unmanifested."

The Strength. One of my favourite cards and my favourite brave girl. I need to come clean I am not a fan of a lor of women portrayals in asian culture. But Yoo Jaeyi just stole my heart. She is kind, she is angry, she is loving, she is grieving. She is real. She is her own person. I love this image of her. "8. FORTITUDE.—Power, energy, action, courage, magnanimity; also complete success and honours. Reversed: Despotism, abuse of power, weakness, discord, sometimes even disgrace."

The Devil. Do I even need to explain myself? Well probably yes. Another candidate for this card was you guessed it - Han Kihwan. But after some thinking I finally decided on this one. "15. THE DEVIL.—Ravage, violence, vehemence, extraordinary efforts, force, fatality; that which is predestined but is not for this reason evil. Reversed: Evil fatality, weakness, pettiness, blindness." While Juwon's father is the evil person and the real villain of the story I do consider Kang Jinmuk the Devil.

About m4jor*REVERSAL:

The asterisk in their unit name represents a pentacle!

Each member is aligned with a tarot card (including the vocaloids) and as characters they tend to play off that card in interesting ways. Their card is also their stage name/alias and sometimes an alternate persona they put on for their music; that alternate persona is often called their "reversed", hence the unit name.

They all preform in costume and while wearing masks - originally as a safety/anonymity thing, now it helps them get into the headspace to preform.

Although they do street performances or take gigs for local venues, most of their work is online. Their MVs take a long time to make, because of all the recording and editing involved.

I don't have a clear genre/style for their music yet🤧in my head its very atmospheric/psychedelic? But I can't think of a clear example atm.

They're my oldest fan unit! I dusted 'em off a few weeks ago when I got back into pjsk and they're much more fleshed out now ^^

In Maze Sekai, Miku is dressed like a princess. She carries herself with a noble mien that is replaced with bubbly enthusiasm when it comes to telling stories or solving riddles. She's surprisingly very grounded.

Luka - The High Priestess

Luka carries her self as a high-ranking advisor. She likes to playfully tease Miku with nonsensical riddles, and plays soft melodies to help her friends sleep. Luka seems to instinctively know where any possible book can be found in Sekai.

Persona Plot Bunny that's bugging me.

So, while reading through some P5 fics, I came across a few interesting fics with similar premises: pretty much one or more of the Phantom Thieves (either Akechi or Akiren and Morgana) get sent back to 2009 and attend Gekokan Elementary, eventually joining SEES. Now my favorite of them is the Hope Restored series by mewrose though blue bossa by sonicytails is interesting by having the full Royal Trio along with Morgana and Kasumi attending.

These, of course, got me thinking about my own version. Spoilers ahead for P5 and P5R.

Now, it would start during one of the final battles, either Vanilla P5's or Royal's. Pretty much when Yaldi was erasing the thieves or Maruki decided to force them to comply with his reality, and all the thieves' souls got separated from their bodies and got pulled into the Sea of Souls. Akiren and Morgana were able to avoid this fate because of their connection to the Velvet Room while Akechi was spared because he is a Wild Card, even if his potential was hindered by Yaldi (perhaps Sumire also got spared, but trying to figure out why) while the rest of the thieves only left behind their Wills of Rebellion in the forms of their masks.

While trying to figure out what to do, Igor takes the time to unseal Akechi's potential as a Wild Card, though he'd be different from others with the ability due to going so long without the assistance of the Velvet Room. Pretty much he can't use the more generic Personas that Akiren, Yu, and Minato can, but he has a unique Persona for each of his bonds (a la Marigolds). Meanwhile, Lavenza gives Akiren the masks of his friends to hold on to, though she does warn him that when they (re)awaken, the masks will return to them.

Anyways, the thieves are sent back as kids, meet up with and join SEES, who notice how odd these kids are (never mind their talking cat). Also, whenever they are particularly angry/tapping into their Wills of Rebellion (particular incidents being 10/4 and 11/3), they'll don their Thieves outfits and potentially even age up. Eventually they reveal that they're from the future (at latest when Ryoji tells SEES about Nyx).

Now here's the things that bother me. One: The Yoshizawas. Should Sumire be there or not. If she is, I will eventually also drag Kasumi in because from what little we know about her, she would not want to be left out of whatever is going on with her little sister, which means she'll need a persona of her own. And then trying to convince their parents to let them live in the dorms. It would admittedly be easier to just leave her.

Two: Akechi. Since he can't have the generics, that means I gotta come up with one for each bond he can now develop, beyond Robin Hood and Loki. Never mind what bonds should be with whom. I'm not as familiar with P3 as I am with P5, plus I don't want him to have similar story lines to what Minato is doing with their shared friends. I'm open to suggestions for his bonds, as well as personas that could represent those bonds.

Third: Akiren. Most if not all of his bonds should be maxed out by the time the story starts. However, since he's going back in time, it's kinda like a NG+, which means most of his bonds will be reset (obvious exceptions being Justice and Magician, maybe Faith). Should I give him new bonds as well, and with who? There's also the question of what about the Arcana that represent his team mates. Should they be given to other people, or should I use variations from other Tarot Decks (which I'm admittedly not familiar with).

I just don't know what to do.

I do get a more obvious romantic feeling here, but the cards show that he's willing to stay in her life however she chooses because he genuinely really cares for her, and doesn't wanna lose her. he does seem to follow her lead, I mean we got 1 knight and 2 queens, he is willing to be a prince for her, even as a friend. he'd rather win long term than give up.

The Fool: How deluded is this yandere regarding their darling? Are they self-aware on any level?

Primarily speaking, he is a happily delusional yandere. Medic isn't quite in touch with reality at the best of times, and when he is lovestruck, this only amplifies things. So often fueled by mania and obsession, Medic adores spending time with you and feeling you nearby, your comfort or joy spending time with him, a mere afterthought. He's spent so much of his life following his curiosities and making fascinating discoveries. Medic has so much to share with you and so little time. It's only natural you'd feel so overwhelmed around him, but he's here to help and wouldn't dare let you go after making such progress with you.

The Hanged Man - Is controlling their darling essential? Or do they want their darling to love them willingly?

It's vital. Medic sees himself as a God among men, and keeping you under his control at all times is crucial. The love the two of you share is priceless, and he will do whatever necessary it takes to make you love him back. While he might feel slightly guilty for influencing you and your emotions like this, he's never been one to allow ethics or morality to stand in his way before. As one who sees himself as nothing less than a God Medic would feel entitled to be worshiped in kind, wanting nothing less than your undivided love and attention. 

The Magician - How would this yandere use their abilities/status on their darling?

Considering the canon intention of the medigun was an instrument of pain, and the healing was an unforeseen side effect, one must wonder if he ever did get around to constructing that weapon as initially envisioned. The Medic has no shortage of weaponry, self-constructed and otherwise, at his disposal, combined with the immense knowledge and will to wield them. While you are just about the only patient's health, he genuinely cares to protect, that isn't to say he's not curious to learn more about how much pain you can withstand or how you'd react to different weapons. Justifying all this in his mind on the condition he'd only ever hurt you if he had the means and time to heal and help you recover directly after.

Hello, I am here once again to cast my Molly thoughts onto you.

Very often I think about Molly once being quiet…empty. But then he thrives in the joys, laughter, and color of the carnival, and then with the Nein.

But sometimes, Molly will have dreams, visions, nightmares of the quiet, the empty, THE EYES, and suddenly, he’s in a state of silence, unable to talk.

The Nein are fumbling on what to do, but then Yasha, his dear Yasha, easily holds himself close, and he hangs onto her like a lifeline. She does her best to talk despite not being the best conversationalist, but it’s what Molly is so familiar with, so soothed by. She tells him of the colorful flowers she’s seen, the crackling sound of thunder from her trips away from the group, the bustling sounds of people she has passed by.

The Nein learn from this, making sure that when Molly is unnervingly silent, they give him sounds, colors, warmth.

Molly may be silent, but never is he empty.

Oh, I absolutely headcannon this as well!! We know that Molly did have nightmares about Lucien and the Eyes--dreams that he always tried to forget. And at the very end of Campaign 2, Matt describes the haunting visions that Kingsley still sees of Cognouza and Lucien night after night. King reliving the moment when he sacrificed himself over and over, the primal alien screams and black chains that followed--

So I definitely think Molly/King still has moments when he feels that familiar, gnawing ache of Empty, once too many nightmares and memories come pouring back. And I can definitely see Yasha running right to his side. When Molly first confesses the truth about Lucien and his days of clawing Emptiness, he's so grateful to have Yasha there for him. Gives her a pat on the shoulder and says, "Thank you, dear." And at the very start of the episode, he stays close by her, still trying to suppress a panic attack--laughing nervously, admitting shakily, "I'm so glad to see you."

Just having Yasha near helps ground him. And if he got lost in feeling Empty again--even if the rest of the world and his memories start to fade, I think he'd still very much be drawn to her and reach out to her for comfort all the same.

I think a lot about how King Molly's first word after Empty is Love, how he goes up to Yasha and gives her a big hug and holds on tight. The way he goes and picks flowers for her and Beau in the Blooming Grove--all these little things that show how much he loves his charm and the rest of the Nein, even though he still doesn't have the words to say it.

The way Jester shows Tealeaf each of the cards in his tarot deck, gently tells him that she hopes just having them again will make him feel a little bit better. Tries her best to give him something concrete to hold onto, to anchor him. I can see her dealing out the cards between them whenever Molly's feeling Empty again, Jester softly telling him who each person is and what their card means. Tealeaf clinging to the deck and reading through it over and over in the moonlight, trying to commemorate every face to memory. The way Jester's so protective of Molly like he always was of her.

And then...I just can't get over how it's Caleb Molly calls out to first after Yasha. How first and foremost he has his Love, is warmed by just the sight of her so much, and then calls out for his Magician right after. The way Caleb fought so hard just for the chance to reunite with Molly, limped to his side and begged the rest of the Nein to save him. Casting the spell to resurrect him, promising so earnestly, "Empty no longer, Mr. Tealeaf." Caleb showing so much love and compassion for Mollymauk, that when all hope seems lost, when he doesn't wake--it's him Yasha turns to for comfort, looking to him for help as she cries, "Is there nothing else to do...? Caleb?" Because they both just love him so much. Because Yasha trusts Caleb to save him.

In those moments when Molly/King goes nonverbal, I think Caleb would also be very patient, very understanding. Because he'd been through very much the same thing, all those years in the sanitarium. We see panel after panel of him silently moving through the years in a haze, and I think it's very much implied he never spoke, never really felt aware. Just years and years of walking through this nightmare, dissociating from the world around him--Trent's spell further distancing him from himself, locking all his memories away.

So if anyone would understand exactly what it is Tealeaf's feeling when all he can say is Empty, I think it's Caleb. Because for an entire decade, that's how he felt. I can see him being kind and gentle with Molly in those moments the way he wished someone would have been for him. Sitting by his side when the memories get to be too much, when it all eats away at him until he feels hollow again. Caleb delicately parting his hair and giving him another forehead kiss, promising him again that he isn't Empty anymore--

It's like how Yasha told Molly having a family again made her feel less empty. I think her and Caleb just understand a lot of Molly's pain and grief in a very intimately familiar way, and it makes them both want to reach back out to Mollymauk like he did for him. Molly, who tells Lucien, "We love broken things the most," and gives his whole heart to try and save other shattered souls.

And I just love your idea that Yasha would see how Molly is grounded by color and light and joy and life; all the vibrant, beautiful things that Molly saw in the world, even though he still knew it was so "harsh and cruel." Yasha giving Mollymauk more wonderful memories to fill that Emptiness, to remind him that he is alive, and whole, and loved.

I think of Yasha holding onto Molly and hugging him as tight as she can when they fall asleep. Playing old songs from the circus on her harp. Beau reading pages from her journal aloud, showing off all the little trinkets she gathered in their travels. Jester fanning out the tarot deck and inviting him to pick a few cards. Drawing with him under the stars. Caleb casting Prismatic Image until golden memories flicker all around them, retelling all of their adventures like it's his favorite story, watching the way Tealeaf's eyes light up--

what does being a witch and a kpop stan mean? i ask my tarot cards what they think of my idols. today's group is stray kids!

for the group i pulled the reversal of four of cups and the reversal of the magician;

letting go of regret, or seizing the moment, they're focused, but they have some unused abilities.

for bang chan i pulled 9 of cups, four of swords, the lovers and queen of cups;

his wishes are coming true, success and abundance are on their way, he has some stress, and some anxiety, but he has some kindred spirits near him, and he's loving and warm towards them, and hes definitely creative.

for lee know i pulled the hierophant, the empress, temperance, the devil, the fool, and the four of pentacles;

there's some traditional values in him, but some of that is pushed aside for him to be more in touch with his "feminine side." He's patient, especially through mental health issues, but that can make him aloof sometimes. and there's definitely some wealth approaching him.

for changbin i pulled the chariot and the eight of cups;

Success will come with hard work; but that success may have to come with some sacrifices. These sacrifices may take some courage, and they may not be easy decisions, but they are the right ones.

for hyunjin i pulled the ace of swords, the six of wands, the page of cups, the ace of pentacles, and the ten of cups;

Some good intellectual ability, along with mental clarity, and the mental clarity comes with triumph, and some good things coming his way. He expresses his inner child well, and this may come with some financial beginnings. Happiness is on it's way.

Financial stability and/or wealth, but some sadness, more so relating to grief. But this is overcome easily, happiness being the next step. New ideas and projects are coming for him, but the ideas may require a bit of patience to get to the end.

Of course, sunshine, happiness, reunions are afoot. but only after some fatigue and struggle with this he feels trapped, and he needs to let go of anything holding him back. With the happiness comes wealth and contentment.

He's sensitive, but caring and gentle, and he's definitely a gentleman. He's protective of those close to him, and has stability and dependability. He's close with his father-figure.

His weapon, able to have its shape manipulated via the Effect of Metal + Surprise-charged Blue Crystals, has four (technically five) forms it can take!

Bracelets (Incognito Form): The form taken when not active, Jesse usually wears these as bracelets that are tucked beneath his sleeves (because a magician always has a trick or two up their sleeves ahahaaaa). Good for quick access when danger suddenly strikes, or to add extra pizazz during a magic show/performance, but without being too obvious about it. ...Unless he wants to show off his weaponized jewelry ssnksnksn. They are also in Incognito Form via the arm bands I drew adult!Cam wearing yesterday~

Wand (Neutral Form): The form taken during performances to ~enhance his magician showmanship~, as shown in his tarot card (but the real thing is a little less basic I promise lmao). While in wand form, it does make it easier for him to channel, concentrate, and chain his powers, allow him to amplify and connect some of his tricks (such as Fire, Light, Smoke, Sound, and a few of the other ones he tends to use for, well, effects).

Twin Rings (Defensive Form): Usually used during performances for "connected ring" tricks, but also has combative use as Jesse's "Defensive" weapon. Good for restraining opponents or blocking in close-range combat. Or just to show off. He can also vary the size of the rings, but can never make more than two (because there's only two crystals).

Magician's Naginata (True Form): The form that the weapon was actually forged in, as seen here, is Jesse's go-to "Offensive" weapon (because it is the one weapon he is actually somewhat decent with, hence why he doesn't really change it into any other kind of weapon dhgdfs. Beside, Kai put a lot of work into making it not look bad. Gotta respect the craft :P) Jesse does, however, sometimes shift it so that there's a blade on each end instead of just one, but not often. And yet, when he does...

Twin Naginatas (Offensive Form): ...he can pull them apart into two separate Naginatas if he'd like. It's only something he does once he becomes more proficient at fighting, but that's a ways down the line ahaha.

the major arcana of toshima

this post reminded me i actually made a whole ass assignment lineup all the way back in september with explanations and all bc what's better than one obsession? two of them mashed together

the fool - akira protagonist syndrome overdrive! but it really is his journey after all. and despite his somewhat mature appearance he's oh so naive at the beginning of it, saying things like he's not afraid of death and wants to see it up close. and then he gets to toshima and understandably freaks out the moment he bears witness to true unadulterated violence. and grows in every way there is as a person along the way

the magician - motomi he's the miracle worker of the story! i'm still kinda in awe of his part in rin's route when he fuckin'. blew up arbitro's arena and led akira and rin away and forged papers for them in a span of a day. is there something this man cannot do? i don't think so

the high priestess - yukari her role in the story is a small yet important one, that of a passive yet powerful bearer of faith. she's the one who gave the rosary, symbol of purity and kindness, to takeru

the empress - motomi's wife am i really going to give a card to a character that has neither a name nor a design? absolutely. call that a motomi bias. but i feel like she used to be quite caring and nurturing, judging by what motomi's told akira of her

the emperor - shiki i mean, il re. the law of toshima. what else is there to say (sorry shiki fans but i am not too big on the guy. you've seen one edgy dark-haired swordsman, you've seen 'em all)

the hierophant - tomoyuki it's a bit of a stretch but one of the meanings of the hierophant card is community, and i feel like tomoyuki really strives towards that, with him being the leader a whole new gang of his own after pesikoshka fell apart

the lovers - keisuke (and akira) (duh) i mean. I MEAN. if there's anyone who's a hopeless loverboy in tnc it's keisuke but there's also so much more to the lovers card than what it says on the tin and everything about it fits keisuke like a glove. lovers are also about choice, a brave decision coming from the heart, and that's exactly what keisuke makes as he decides to follow akira into the dark

the chariot - rin i once read a very good point abt the dichotomy of hard control vs soft control in the chariot and strength and i feel like it really is a fun thing to point out in connection to tnc as well so, rin is hard control. he's energetic and brave and daring and, if anything, careless and rash. there's a storm inside of him, yet like hell he's gonna let anyone know of it. not until he is fully in charge, at any rate

strength - keisuke and keisuke, au contraire, is soft control. he may look (and be, most of the time) timid and clumsy, but he can and will put his foot down when it really matters. he's got a big and loving heart and and he's not afraid to show it

the hermit - nano ever the lonesome and elusive one, nano's had it up to here with society and is now the one to pick solitude over company (and run the society that's wronged him into the ground while we're at it but that's a story for another day)

the wheel of fortune - akira he's rolling with the punches, man. and he's at the wheel at the same time, making conscious choices to be with the people he decided he'd be staying with

justice - emma the judge, the jury and the executioner. she doesn't play fair by any means, but the rest of the meanings fits her well. she's stern and pragmatic and willing to set a course for the future

the hanged man - akira and the unlawfully sentenced. bound by circumstance, the only thing left to akira is holding on. he neither asked nor did anything to deserve this, and yet, he's there. and he accepts his fate because well, what else is there to do

death - gunji and kiriwar death in tarot is so much more than what it says on the tin (hell, i'd argue it's everything but) but these two sure fit the bill for the quote unquote grim reaper card

temperance - motomi another dichotomy time! with motomi being the angel to arbitro's devil and it fits him so well in more ways than one. he's been through a death arguably more painful than one's own - the death of his son and wife, and at his own hands (to some degree) at that, and yet he's found a way to make peace with that and live on and temperance is a card of wisdom and changing your way of thought, which is exactly what motomi comes to do whenever actually facing nano (and akira, who manages to lead him away from the path of revenge)

the devil - arbitro who's the lecherous, self-serving asshole of toshima? he is! there's actually so much more fun to the devil card (and i like it quite a lot), but not much more to arbitro, so let's just leave it at that

the tower - takeru poor takeru. he's climbed way too high up and is on his way to a painful downfall. he couldn't live with the things as they were a second longer and rushed towards change, yet ended up making a deal with the devil by taking rein and paying way too high of a price for that mistake and he may have died alone, but he's never going to be forgotten

the star - rin this card is such a perfect fit for rin at the end of his route. it stands for a distant, yet true promise of a better tomorrow, and that's how him overcoming shiki feels like. there's still such a long way to go, and yet he's starting to make peace with what he's lost. and whatever it takes, he's gonna fulfill his promise and find his way back to akira. not to mention his whole connection with the skies and the stars

the moon - keisuke here's to the one who's lost his way. who bought into the promise of strength out of insecurity and fear, who who strayed into the darkness of rein and needed a guiding light to find his way out and it was there. akira was there for him in the darkest night, holding his hand and leading him into the dawn

the sun - motomi remember that one illustration of motomi as a kid smiling from ear to ear in a field of sunflowers? yeah, that there's been everything in motomi's life, good and bad and terrible. and yet he's still here, wholeheartedly enjoying his new life with akira, full of thrill and free of revenge there's also such thing in tarot as reversed cards - when you get one, it means the original meaning of the card has been distorted in some way. some cards, however, are believed to retain their original meaning even in a reversed position, and the sun is one of them. and in my head it fits so well with motomi's role in the story and in akira's life. every other partner has hurt him in one way or another, but not motomi. even when they argued, motomi always showed him compassion and warmth. even with clouds of judgment on the horizon, he's never betrayed akira's trust. and i love him so much for that

judgment - shiki the penultimate card, the penultimate route. it's the last test of character in the major arcana, and fate tests shiki as well. will he succumb to his fear and drink nano's blood, or will he prove himself better than this? will it be a fresh start, or will he descend further into madness and drag the whole world along? (i'm no expert on shiki's character but i've heard that his drama cd implied he was supposed to bounce back eventually after the good end. maybe he'd be a half decent person after that whole experience)

the world - nano the true route of the story and the key to its questions, the one with whom everything's started and the one with whom everything ends. his life has been shit since god knows when, but now, with akira at his side, he's free to choose his own new color

hey, (very unprofessional) tarot reader here!

a lot of these placements r rlly good!! irene as the world, vylad as the hanged man, and lucinda as the magician rlly suit - the world is a card of completion, and the hanged man is a card of introspection, n i feel that those charas def embody those cards.

i think the most important thing to bear in mind re: tarot is that each suit (the major arcana + the four minor arcana suits) represents a story. the story of the major arcana is essentially the story of the hero's journey: the hero wakes up in the world, naive and alone (the fool), and, through trials and tribulations, they reach the end of their journey and the completion of their arc (the world).

if ur just going off vibes when deciding which character belongs to which card, i think uve mostly got it down pat. but if ur wanting to tell the story of mcd through the cards, there r some changes id make.

firstly, id move aph to the fool. more specifically, id show aph waking up on the outskirts of phoenix drop. the fool represents the beginning of the hero's journey; with aph being the hero of mcd, i think this is a good change. i think laurance, given his character arc, better fits in representing the moon (ill explain why further down pinky promise).

luci can stay as the magician if u want, but if u want to get a lil funky w it id swap vylad into this position. the magician serves as a card signalling the hero taking charge of their story and properly setting out on their journey; within a spread, it represents manifestation and taking hold of the opportunities that r presented. w vylad being the one that brings aph into mcd, this could be a change that suits (although the hanged man is also a vv good fit for him).

the high priestess is a card signalling intuition and trusting your gut. hyria is a good fit here; i'd keep her in this position. however, if u want to move hyria to the hierophant, lucinda is potentially a better fit here.

i'm still not sure on who best fits in the positions of the empress and the emperor, but i think garte is a poor fit for the emperor. the emperor is a card of masculine leadership, yes, but its a card of healthy masculinity - something that garte is not. if anything, garte fits its reversed position: oppression, excessive control, and inflexibility. garroth could maybe fit here, but i think he's better suited to a different card.

i don't think that zane, even though he's a priest, is the best fit for the hierophant. yes, the hierophant represents tradition and spiritual beliefs, which zane does embody on some level; however, i think he'd be a better fit for the devil card. hyria is potentially a better fit if u want to move her here and place luci as the high priestess, as her role in the story is one that represents what has come before and a desire to keep the status quo (aph becoming irene again). however, if u want to go full steam ahead on the hierophant representing wisdom and knowledge in general, emmalyn/kenmur could also be good fits.

dante and nicole can fit into the lovers. i think that, given that the lovers is about choices and compromises, their story (esp in s2) fits here.

the chariot is a card representing victory and the strength to keep going. zenix could fit here, but i think there are other characters who fit here better. maybe liochant or levin? im not sure - its up to u.

for strength, id slot in aaron. strength is a card about not only physical strength but also emotional and spritual strength, as well as compassion and kindness. i feel like this embodies aaron well, especially given that u could show him with a wolf here as a bit of an easter egg referencing mys.

id put dante or malachi as the hermit. dante, bc he waited fifteen years for aph to return; malachi because he waited ~900 yrs in his castle waiting to be freed. the hermit is a card of isolation and introspection, hence why dante and malachi could fit here.

i still don't know who would fit in as the wheel of fortune, to be honest. its a card about cycles and luck; any of the reincarnations could fit here. alternatively, you could move zenix here, with him sort of redeeming himself after he sacks phoenix drop in s1 by fighting in the rebellion in s3 alongside laurance.

katelyn is a good fit for justice. id keep her here.

vylad is also a good fit for the hanged man, but if u want to move him to the magician, id put jeffory here.

i don't know if shad is a good fit for death, but i also don't know who would go here to replace him. death is a card of change; it represents moving from one state to another. i personally think that shad is better placed at the tower.

as much as i think garroth is a good fit for temperance, i think zoey or kc could also be a good fit here! temperance is all about moderation and balance, and i think zoey/kc are a better fit here than having zoey at the star.

zane is the devil. the devil is a card all about manipulation and addiction - something that zane embodies in droves. id put him here with garroth and another figure (katelyn? jeffory? nicole?) in chains/as game pieces below him, showing how manipulative he is if ur wanting to stick to the imagery of the rider-waite-smith tarot, but a lot of indie decks have different depictions (if u want some indie examples, id be happy to dm u some pictures of the major arcana from my own decks).

shad and the nether fortress are a good fit for the tower. the tower is a card representing unimpeded, unavoidable destruction and chaos; as such, i dont think travis is a good fit here.

conversely, id put travis as the star. upright, the star represents renewal and finding ur purpose; reversed, it represents despair and disconnection, which both fit travis. zoey is also a good fit, but i think travis's arc in mcd better represents the star.

the moon represents fear and the subconscious, hence why i think laurance is a good fit here. he spends much of the series desperately trying to fight back his shadow knight self, and loses control of it several times. i think putting him and his shadow self here is a much better fit here than enki (although enki could fit here).

the sun is a card of unrelenting positivity and warmth. i think garroth could be a good fit here, if u want to move him from temperance! i could be a bit biased tho - ive got a bit of a soft spot for garroth, so take this with a grain of salt lol.

if u want to stick to the major arcana showing aphs journey - given that i dont see her truly stepping up to become the new irene and forging her own path instead - id mayyybe put irene here? specifically, id have judgement showing a scene from the first war of the magi. judgement is all about judgement, but also rebirth and absolution.

irene works as the world, but if u want to really hammer home the major arcana being the hero's journey, id put aph here again, but not alone this time.

SUPERNATRUAL ABILITIES:

Finch wasn't always aware of his magical abilities. Often when unexplainable things occurred, he'd chalk it up to a coincidence or on one of the many concussions he suffered. He explained things away because he couldn't afford to be anything more or anything less than Elijah Finch. Not if he wanted a full-ride to Harvard, not if he wanted out of his town and away from his father's abusive hands.

But sometimes things don't work out the way you think they should. The last night he'd spent at home something strange happened. His father found out about Finch working at the local mechanic shop and began ripping into him for withholding funds from him. Robert Finch was an ugly man, a cruel creature who knew only anger and violence. Finch knew this, he understood it as his father threw the first punch. He knew it as he fell to his knees, he knew it as foot met chest and ribs and arms covering precious real estate. So Finch begged, not to his father, but to the universe, to free him, to make him strong, to make him something other than Elijah Finch and in return he'd give the powers that be anything they wanted of him.

Maybe it was his blood, maybe it was his resolve to survive, maybe it was the universe apologizing for all those years they ignored his pleas but they finally answered his call.

He thought: get him off me. The large oak tree near his childhood home erupted with sound as its branches swung down to throw Robert Finch off of him. The last thing he remembered was his mother's scream, the pale lights of red and blue coming down from a far distance before he blacked out completely.

He was a man of science first, always had been, but he could not deny the world any longer. He wasn't just Elijah Finch anymore. He was something else. He finished high school, went to school for biology and went to work on discovering who he'd become that night. When he realized the answers couldn't be found in the halls of Harvard he went looking elsewhere, until he heard whispers of some self-contained island that had a population of people just like him.

While in Veritas, Finch learned he had the ability to communicate and control the nature around him. He has limits, like he can't force it to rain when the sun is shining but he can speak to the trees. He can hear the secrets that travel in the sigh of the wind, the whisper in the rivers and natural running waters. he still however, has no idea who gifted him these powers to begin with.

Finch has a fondness for Tarot cards. He might not know who or what he sold himself to but at the very least he can communicate with them through his cards. He has a particularly ornate set of cards, flecked with gold and pinks and lovely shades of green and blue.

Eli is generally a wary person. When confronted with the supernatural he has a normal level of fear for all of them. He has a particular distaste for those who use their compulsion without remorse or empathy.

Finch is not and has never been a fighter. Ever.

PERSONALITY:

Finch is realistic, intelligent, observant, and on occasion thoughtful but he's also quite cynical, lacks trust in others, and has an overall melancholic aura about him. He's a lonely person, even when surrounded by people, he feels otherly. The difference is self-imposed but he doesn't make any moves to change that.

FAMILY:

Finch hasn't spoken to his mother since he pressed charges against his father. Unfortunately due to his father having unexplainable injuries Finch was forced to drop them. He moved into a shitty apartment in town while he finished out high school. He's quite poor and incredibly embarrassed about it but he made do. He got out and under his own terms. He doesn't have any other family that he knows of.
