I was supporting Charles when he was a newcomer in a big team like Ferrari, going against a legend like Vettel.

I was supporting him when he was everybody’s favorite after winning in Monza.

I was supporting him through the mess that were the 2020 and 2021 seasons.

I was supporting him when he showed he had the talent to fight for the championship if given a good car in 2022, but still he was never prioritised by the team.

I supported him when he stayed graceful despite the shit strategies, the mechanical issues, the team not listening to his feedback and deciding to develop a car for his, back then slower, teammate.

I will support him now that He’s driving a car he hates. We all knew this year’s car was gonna be Binotto’s last gift to Carlos… it’s an understeery car. Carlos likes it, Charles doesn’t. The car doesn’t merge with his driving style, he has to drive it like a fucking go kart to achieve anything (he accelerates on his exits, but with the SF23 that forces him to make mistakes). Still he’s only less than a tenth away from his teammate who feels at 100% with it.

Charles could not have been more honest. He doesn’t like the car, he doesn’t understand it to it’s full potential, but he’s trying and he’s working.

If that makes him washed up, finished, out of shape (yep sky Italy had the audacity to say he’d got fat… ) and makes his teammate the second coming of Schumacher… than fine, I’m gonna support him anyway.

Carlos was undeniably good last weekend, but there were plenty of occasions in the past when someone kept an opponent in DRS range to his benefit. It was a very good idea to do so, but it wasn’t a never seen before genius tactic.

Charles knew, from the minute he came behind in quali, that his job was going to be helping Carlos. And no matter that the Spanish driver won’t even acknowledge Charles’ help, but it was there. Carlos could manage his tires for the whole first stint with no pressure at all ‘cause Charles started on softs, jumped George at the start and then kept increasing his gap to Carlos, even if he had the pace to go faster.

Charles played the team player role yesterday. We have plenty of evidence, Silverstone 22, Monaco 22 and so on… that Carlos wouldn’t have done the same.

The driver I support admits when he doesn’t like the car, but still puts the work in and gets closer to his teammate with time. The driver I support agrees to being a team player ‘cause the most important thing is the win for the team. The driver I support doesn’t have a family that shits on Ferrari one week and then the following one jumps on the winning bandwagon.

The driver I support lives and breaths Ferrari. At this point I’m scared that essereferrari (being Ferrari, the ever present motto) will prevent him from being fully Charles.

I want him to be more selfish, angrier, but at the same time he wouldn’t be anymore the gracefull man we all know.

Let him work on his issues. He knows his potential, we know his talent. He’s gonna come back stronger, but in the meantime I’m still gonna support and cheer the hardest for him.

Plot: You are a rookie in your first f1 season, adding to the ever-growing amount of Brits performing in the grid.

You woke up the next morning on the Monday a little later than expected. You were so exhausted from your first race in F1 and then all the social interaction that followed.

You had got Charles back to his hotel room with the help of Lorenzo his older brother who you'd found in the lift. You went straight back to your room, showering of the smell of alcohol and smoke that made you cringe before flopping onto the comfy hotel bed that was calling your name.

You stayed in the bed for a while before you realized it was getting closer to the checkout time of the hotel and that you should probably check on your fellow drivers. You and Alex would be on the plane back to Germany for debrief before he flew to the UK to see his family as there was a larger break between Bahrain and South Korea which had been added back onto the list of races this year.

"Alex?" you asked knocking on his door. In seconds he came out a smile on his face.

"Hello Y/N ready for the flight?" he asks smiling towards you.

"Yes, I'm all packed and my stuff has been sent to the airport, I just wanted to check on Charles before i left. He was pretty wasted last night" you exclaim smiling hoping he's come with you.

"Oh, he's already gone. I saw him down at breakfast this morning!" Alex smiled at you before taking your hand and dragging you towards the lift.

"He left? With who?" you asked him confused.

"Erm, Carlos i think. Guessing they're flying back to Maranello" he smiles pushing the ground button on the lift.

And that was that, you didn't hear from Charles. You flew to Germany where the Audi HQ was located before you went back to see your family for a week in the UK. On the Monday you and Alex went to South Korea together Lily joining the both of you on the flight. You liked Lily a lot, she had become a good friend of yours now that you were Alex's team-mate and you were basically there adopted child now.

Thursday came around so quickly and more people were filling up the paddock, it was insane how the race weekend was such an intense build up.

"Hey Y/N can we steal you for an interview" Martin said smiling walking over to you.

"Yeah of course" You smile fixing your hair under your Audi cap.

"So, you had an amazing first race last weekend in Bahrain, you are an exceptional driver P6 on your first race in F1!" he exclaims making you laugh and blush a little at the praise.

"Yeah, i think i made a few mistakes that the car 100% made up for. Audi are clearly going to be a great competitor this year and I cant wait for Alex and I to climb the ranks together!" you nod.

"Yes, what is that like, do you have have more of a friendship or a professional relationship of are things tense there like some grid members"

"Alex is an amazing team mate. He has really helped me settle into the grid and into racing in F1. I cant thank him and Lily enough, and for that I would consider him a friend. I hope to be team mates with him for a few more years"

"That's really good to hear that you have that kind of support there as it must be hard coming onto the grid as the only female! How are you relationships with the other drivers?"

"Yeah I'd say after getting to introduce myself in Bahrain everyone has really welcomed me into the sport and i cant be more thankful for that! You know some of the people on the grid have been my idols since I first got into a kart so its amazing to be here racing with them and have the support of incredible ex drivers!"

"Well good luck for the weekend I'm sure we will see amazing things from you on this old track in South Korea that the FIA have decided to reinstate this year!" he smiles before waving her off and she walks back towards the Audi garage.

She had media for the rest of the day, her and Alex trying Korean food and drinks for their TikTok page before they went to discuss the weekend.

You needed a drink desperately but were only just entering the paddock. You were hot and dehydrated and people could see just how pale you were.

You'd managed to get past Haas, Mercedes and Williams but by the time you got to Alpha Romeo and Ferrari, people started to notice the slight wobble in your step.

"Hey Y/N lets get you a seat. You look faint" Will Buxton says running over to you, he guides you to the nearest seats which happen to be outside the Ferrari Hospitality running in to grab you a bottle of water.

"Y/N?" Charles asks seeing your pale face and sweat lining under your eyes and across the brows that were currently shaded off by your hat.

"Charles, erm hi" you say, feeling a little dizzy.

"Are you okay, what are you doing here?" he asks looking around to see if you were with anyone that would explain why you were sat on a Ferrari table.

"Erm Will pulled me here because I haven't drank today and i feel dizzy" you tried to explain to the best of your ability but it was slower and you could tell how tired you were after this Saturday Quali.

"P5 is amazing today. Most of us haven't done South Korea so it was a new track for all of us but the dinosaurs" he jokes, it was a stolen joke of course. One he had heard Lando and Daniel talking about. which made a few people around them laugh so he thought he'd test the waters with you.

"That's true, it would be Lewis, Valtteri and Sergio right?" you say thinking about the current drivers on the grid and who would have been racing in 2013.

"Yeah"

You both sat in silence neither knowing what to say to each other.

"You didn't talk to me after Bahrain, did i do something wrong?" you ask now feeling better that you'd sat down.

"No, if i'm being honest I was rather embarrassed after my brother told me how you had to support me the whole way back to my room" he admitted sheepishly knowing he should have reached out, even if it was just to thank her as she had been a great help.

"Oh" you say quietly.

"Did I upset you?" he asks softly.

"A little, when I told Alex i was going to find you, he told me he'd already seen you down at breakfast and that you'd left already. Then you didn't say anything" you explain, you'd spent two weeks wondering if you'd just messed up a friendship.

"Y/N you must understand that it wasn't my intention!" he says leaning forward and encasing your hand in his with a genuine smile on your face.

"Fine, but you owe me dinner after tomorrow's race. Before the party!" you suggest.

"Done!" he exclaims, he hops up and walks into the hospitality as Will Buxton walks out.

"Here you go" he smiles handing you the bottle he'd managed to haggle from Ferrari.

"Thank you so much!" you says opening it and chugging it down.

"I'll walk you back to Audi, just to make sure!" he exclaims and with he does exactly as he said he would.

"And where had our P5 Queen gone" Lily exclaims in outrage that her friend didn't come to see her after the race.

"Sorry, but I'm here now!" you smile flopping onto the sofa laying your head on her lap.

"Are you really trying to steal my gf Y/N we've been over this" he chuckles with a teasing groan of mock annoyance.

"Look just because she likes me better doesn't mean you should get a mood" you grin turning into Lily and hugging around her stomach. In no time with the background sounds of the mechanics working in the garage and Lily lightly playing with your hair while talking to Alex you found yourself falling asleep.

"She is literally our child" Alex says to the interviewer who had come to find them in the garage. He looked back at where Y/N and Lily were still on the sofa, Lily letting the younger girl sleep.

"And how proud are you of her P5 today in a GP that only has 3 current grid members who have driven here in South Korea?" she asks.

"So proud, I know she's been feeling the pressure to make a good impression with everyone, from the people in the teams, to all the drivers and to the fans and public eye. She's just so natural and i think that's one of the things that pulls you into a friendship so strong with someone like Y/N" he explains.

"Yes, it seems earlier that she's been getting extremely close to some of the other drivers, what do you think about that?"

"Well on the track we all are doing our best to win, and so we become rivals. Of the track Y/N is another Daniel or Lando where there isn't one person on the grid that she wont get on with. Y/N is a friend of everyone" he smiles not to sure the direction that the interviewer wanted that question to go in.

"I'm talking about her and Charles Leclerc specifically?" she pushes and Alex looks at the person confused.

"Sorry?" he asks, he racked his brain wondering if this was why you'd been asking about Charles in Bahrain.

"Will Buxton reported seeing them together earlier outside Ferrari hospitality. She wasn't feeling well and he offered her to sit and get her and drink and he saw Charles and her talking. Some fans even got pictures of the interactions.

"Oh, well I'm sure if Will was kind enough to help Y/N when she was reporting as unwell that Charles also was concerned and was checking in on her!" Alex smoothly deems, the interviewer tries to hide their annoyance as the lack of gossip she was gathering but nods and thanks Alex for his time.

"That was weird" he whispers taking his seat next to Lily again.

"What do you mean?" she asks not having heard what they were talking about.

"They were asking me about Charles and Y/N, and after Bahrain i was just confused" he admitted. Of course at the time he had told Lily about your odd reaction to Charles having left early but not having thought too much off it, but now he was for sure thinking on it more.

"Lets just focus on tomorrow!" she smiles.

This is gonna be so strange to write because DTS is a visual format but imma try for the cool perspective. You’re gonna need a good imagination.

WILL BUXTON: Silverstone, the home of formula one.

LANDO NORRIS: It’s one of my favourite tracks, I love the support we get there.

BUXTON: Our hearts were in our mouths, in 2024. The title fight was ramping up!

CHARLES LECLERC: It was close.

CARLOS SAINZ: We were fighting, but it was horrific race.

BUXTON: It ended in shambles.

OSCAR PIASTRI: I mean, I was out in lap, 5 I think, it might’ve been 6.

BUXTON: No one expected five DNF’s.

LEWIS HAMILTON: I don’t know how it happened.

BUXTON: Let alone Lando’s accident.

NORRIS: I don’t remember much.

BUXTON: or the Mystery Medic.

BUXTON: It was incredible, in a morbid way.

NORRIS: I was panicking

BUXTON: First, they catch Lando as he falls from the halo. He is in pain, and at one point you can hear him scream.

BUXTON: The medic starts to, essentially drag, Lando towards a safe section of the barrier. We could see that it was bad. We could see how much was relying on them and leaning on them, considering that he was taller than the medic.

PIASTRI: We could see that he wasn’t even letting it touch the ground.

NORRIS: “Keep it off the ground,” they told me. They didn’t have to, I was in too much pain anyway.

BUXTON: Then Sergio Perez approaches the accident.

TOTO WOLFF: There was debris everywhere, McLaren and Mercedes.

SERGIO PEREZ: I still do not know how I did not see it.

NORRIS: I didn’t know until I was on a stretcher.

BUXTON: You can see, if you watch the replay you can see, the moment the Mystery Medic hears Checo’s car.

BUXTON: It was horrifying! They were walking, and almost carrying Lando, with a piece of debris in their thigh.

NORRIS: I’ve watched the replay. It was headed straight for me.

BUXTON: Watching it live was… it was awful! But you couldn’t look away.

right after graduated, both charles and y/n spending the time a lot together which leads to charles decided to bring y/n to paris, just to propose to her, at her mother's favourite place on earth. her family already gave the blessing long time ago which wasn't a problem for him to do so. pascale also excited hearing the news of accepting a new daughter in-law. y/n decided move in with charles, right after the proposal which before this she lived with grace in monte carlo, and becoming fulltime wag where her only work is just following charles travel the world just for racing. she wanted to be the support that charles needed, which sometime there will be a supporting job needed from her family's company which she will be filling in on work from home mode.

grace decided to join y/n as well since her lover, mateo from her field education days, is a resident there. not wanting to be apart right after graduation, grace also decided to permenantly stay in monte carlo alongside with y/n. right after y/n's wedding with charles, grace finally engage to mateo in the garden where y/n and charles' wedding were held in. both girls were excited and can't wait to see what adventure awaits for them next.

as for amélie, she broke up with her long-term boyfriend when she learnt that he has been cheating on her a few months before the wedding. it was devastating but amélie took it as a sign to move on and pursue into her dreams, which to travel around the world and be a humanitarian. she's happy with it because it opened her eyes that life is worth living if you took a chance to see what others doing with their life.

the morning air breeze slipped through the sliding door that charles opened earlier once he woke up, making the skin of y/n felt the chills of it. y/n patted through the mattress beside her and found that charles wasn't on the bed like he used to, sleeping in. today is the day where f1 got a break called summer break, so this is the only time where charles' busy time will be only training and after that, he will have the time to spend with his beloved ones.

y/n sighed at the absence of charles on bed and she decided to wake up and sit on the bed for a bit. y/n inhaled the fresh air and then exhale it through her mouth. lately her body isn't doing good at all. she has been feeling terribly fatigue and the thought of food makes her want to vomit. she has no slight interest in doing whatever she wants and just want to sleep away the feeling of everything. aside from that, from charles' view, charles noticed that his wife has been in bad mood lately which caused him to be extra careful on his words especially.

also during sex which was two nights ago, charles noticed that y/n became quite hornier than ever. her breasts felt fuller, and her lust for him became wilder. she can't help but keep on sniffing for his scent, his natural scent actually because y/n doesn't like any of charles' perfumes, even the ones she gifted to him which she specifically chose it. then charles realized, it was his sweat that drives his wife crazy. weird but true.

"mme leclerc." (mrs leclerc) a nurse called up. y/n stood up from her seat next to charles. charles also stood up and both of them walked into the doctor's office. "comment nous sentons-nous aujourd'hui ?" (how are we feeling today?) the doctor asked as she looked at the couple entering the room. y/n and charles took a seat each in front of the doctor's table. y/n looked at charles and charles nodded his head signalling to 'go on and tell her'.

"j'ai des nausées, de la fatigue et parfois je n'ai plus d'appétit du tout." (i have been feeling nausea, fatigue and sometime i don't have any appetite at all.) y/n explained of what happened as the doctor took note on the health report card. "et comment te sens-tu maintenant?" (and how are you feeling now?) the doctor asked. "un peu bien mais je n'ai toujours pas d'appétit pour manger." (a bit okay but still have no appetite to eat.) y/n replied as she fiddled on her fingers. "je vois. à quand remonte tes dernières règles?" (i see. when was your last period?) the doctor asked again, and this time both y/n and charles were taken back by the question.

ever since the wedding, they haven't keep any track of y/n's period. "je ne me souviens pas." (i don't remember.) y/n admitted shyly as she looked down on her lap making the doctor giggled. "pas besoin d'être gênée mme leclerc." (no need to be embarrassed mrs leclerc.) the doctor told her as she pulled a small cup from her drawer and placed on the table. "j'ai besoin que tu fasses pipi dans cette tasse et que tu la donnes au labo là-bas et que tu attendes le résultat, d'accord?" (i need you to pee in this cup and hand it to the lab back there and wait for the result, okay?) the doctor instructed and y/n nodded her head yes, grabbing the cup. "ok, merci docteur." (alright, thank you doctor.) y/n thanked as she and charles stood up and left the room.

both of them walked along the hallway to the toilet and charles let go of y/n's hand. "just go, i wait for you here." charles told her. y/n nodded her head yes and entered the toilet. as she entered the toilet, y/n exhaled. entered to one of the booths, y/n unzipped her pants and pulled down her legs. she placed the cup between her legs as she focused on her peeing. sounds weird but it is weird when you need to pee for a purpose instead of nature call.

right after the business was done, y/n exited the toilet and placed the cup at the lab's counter nearby the toilet. y/n saw charles sat at one of the benches and came to go sit next to him. y/n grabbed charles' left arm and hug it. charles combed through y/n's hair as he kissed it. "nervous?" y/n asked charles as she looked up at him. charles chuckled. "whatever the result going to be, i believe it is in our favour." charles replied, making y/n bit her upper lip, as an act of expressing nervous.

"mme leclerc." the nurse called again.

celebrating at pascale's house for arthur's podium in monaco grand prix, the party was attended by everyone they know, including y/n's family came from nice and also san fransisco. "everyone, may i have your attention please." charles announced as he clicking on his wine glass. the attention now focused at charles, which made him kind of nervous. as people were anticipating, making charles chuckled where y/n immediately rushed her way to charles for support.

"as you all far known, my wife and i have been married for such a long time now and in God's will, we will be having our own next ferrari driver next year." charles announced, making some of the guests gasped in surprise, cheering and most importantly, both pascale and arthur rushed their ways to charles and y/n. pascale hugged both her son and daughter in-law as arthur patted charles' back, yelling "congrates bro!" making both charles and y/n chuckled.

New Beginnings (FANFIC)

This is a continuation of my previous fic, I´m making this AU series, where things have gone back to normal and the characters have normal lives.

You don't exactly have to read the first part to understand but I highly recommend it.

Also, Pinocchio isn't a puppet but he isn't a human. He is something unique, but he isn't 100% one or the other.

Rebuilding Krat was no easy task, the threats might be gone but the situation was tense, the citizens felt unease. Giving out the cure for the prettification disease was the easiest task ironically, finding the cure might have been hard but it was relatively easy to make, even without the help of alchemists.

Speaking of, alchemists were never seen in a positive light by the majority of the public but now it was downright hostility, if an alchemist was found in a community, the people would riot and mobs would kick them out, it was quite a miracle that the violence didn’t end up into lynching.

Construction was somewhat going well, the architecture in Krat historically had solid bases but repairing historical building have been a challenging task, houses in more impoverished communities took a hit the hardest, and the people were frustrated by the lack of support by the falling government to help them, their issues had always been kept last, even before everything went to hell in Krat.

What eased their minds is that Lady Antonia stepped up, she offered those without a home refuge inside the hotel, the offer was taken, and eventually, those who managed to have a new home left, still, some still remain in the hotel rooms.

Venigni helped as well, his eccentric genius shouldn’t have been underestimated, providing jobs, funding public projects, he even building a hospital, Venigni’s popularity was at an all-time high, and many saw him as a savior after the crisis, of course success breeds jealousy, but all the good he had done was worth recognizing.

Surprisingly Eugénie opened a flourishing business, the people sought weapons to defend themselves if worse came to be, and her expertise came in handy, although she disliked violence, she understood why people wanted to defend themselves, like when she helped Pinocchio in his journey, and she was thrilled to see her family’s legacy be recognized.

When it came to the puppet issue, the public was divided, half understood the situation when explained fully, that they truly meant no harm and were trying to protect them, and the other half was enraged, due to this, no new puppets were being built, even if they would be more helpful for hard labor both Geppetto and Venigni decided it was for the best to not stir the pot.

Polendina and Pulchinella were barraged with insults yet no one dared harm them, as a sign of respect for Antonia and Venigni.

Pinocchio’s situation was.. tricky.

He saved them all, no doubt about that, but there was the fear of him attacking the humans and becoming evil, due to his strength he would be a downright unstoppable force, Geppetto made sure he wasn’t seen by the public, for the sake of his son as well, he didn’t need the unnecessary stress, and there was still much to teach them, sure he was polite, had manners but there was still much he didn’t understand.

Geppetto could sense that people either pitied him or didn’t think he was in his full mental faculties, gossip runs fast, so it was basically public knowledge that Pinnochio looked like his deceased son Carlo.

He couldn’t really blame them, Geppetto had recognized that he had truly lost his senses for a period of time, grief makes you do things that your irrational mind thinks rational, especially losing a child, it's a pain he wouldn’t wish upon anyone.

But Pinnochio was his own being, Geppetto had made his peace, he had two sons, and he wouldn’t neglect his second child for Carlo anymore.

After months, they went back to his home, he stayed at the hotel to help in every way he could but he was tired, and Antonia insisted he get rest, everything that happened had taken a toll on him, and if she and Venigni had given themselves time to rest so should he.

His house was on the outskirts of Krat, on a small hill just outside the city, his house wasn’t big or extravagant, unlike Venigni, he remembered going to his house a few times, well, going to his mansion, huge, filled with tons of fancy decorations, five floors filled with rooms for anything you can think of.

In contrast, his house was smaller, not tiny, yet not that big either, with two floors, and the second floor was just an attic for storage.

Geppetto opened the door, entering filled him with a sense of nostalgia, Pinocchio curious as a cat, was looking around the house, looking at every small detail, Gemini making small talk with him, he was happy of the strong bond they shared. Gemini was more assertive, Pinocchio was shy and Gemini tended to speak up on his behalf.

Everything was intact, Geppetto was glad the destruction didn’t reach his home, and glad he had emptied his fridge, he didn’t want the chore of having to throw away moldy food.

The living room connected to the kitchen, and next to it was a door that led to his workshop room, down the hall was his own room.

And Carlos’s room.

He had kept the room exactly the same since his death, he entered sometimes, but he never stayed for too long, so as to not break his heart further. Pinocchio… he obviously needed to have a place of his own and it wouldn’t be fair to him to be stuck in the living room, even if he didn’t really sleep per se, he did need time to recharge his own energy.

“Hey, Pinocchio pull me down from here!”

Gemini was hanging from a wooden clock, dangling from side to side, it was cute, but clearly not very fun for poor Gemini, Pinocchio teasingly smiled, before grabbing him back, instead putting him on a small desk and him sitting on the couch next to it.

Geppetto sat with him, he was tired and old, too old to be dealing with the entire situation, his joints weren’t what they used to be, but he was a stubborn man, he didn’t want his age to stop him from living his life.

Until evening they sat together, a brief talk about mundane things, a part of him wanted to ask him what became of Sophia, but he could tell that it was something that it wasn’t for him to know or understand, despite his distrust of alchemists, he was fond of Sophia, she was a kind person.

Geppetto needed to buy some food, he couldn’t bring Pinocchio with him, but he assured him he would be back soon.

“Don’t worry Mr. Geppetto I’ll make sure he doesn’t break anything” chirped Gemini, Pinocchio looked annoyed, shaking the small cage a bit.

“Alright, alright; he is a good boy and would never break anything.

He gave a small chuckle and with that, he left to buy what he needed.

…

Geppetto came back by the end of dawn, exhausted, maybe it was a mistake to live on the other side of the city, nowhere close to the center where most vendors resided.

As he opened the door, he was Pinnochio sitting on the couch reading a book Gemini on top of them, two other books laid on the table, happy to see that his own enjoy reading, he greed them both. After arranging the groceries, he joined them, asking him about what he was reading, and Pinocchio was happy to oblige, as he described the plot of the books, he could see the passion in his eyes, it made Geppetto feel comfort, and an intimate bond between them, a moment between father and son.

As it got late, Geppetto’s need to sleep got the better of him, it was time to go to bed.

He signaled Pinocchio to follow him down the hall, he had to see his new room.

As his hand pressed against the doorknob, he hesitated, a part of him, a selfish part of him didn’t want to give up Carlos’s room, even if it was lying unused, but he couldn’t be selfish anymore, he needed to be a good father, and with a deep breath he opened the room.

Carlos’s room.

A single bed in the middle of it, in the right corner his closet where his old clothes and belongings were, on the right corner a desk, with a fee of his study books, two drawers that contained notebooks or personal items, a small wooden box contained some of the old toys that he never got rid of.

Next to the bed was a couch, where Romeo would sit and rest at night next to him.

Pinocchio stepped forward and looked around the room.

“This… is your room, take good care of it son, I’m… going to got to bed, your old man is ready tired… good night” Geppetto left the room, he didn’t want to feel sentimental and bring the mood down.

He went towards his room, not much different than Carlos’s room, a closet and drawers with his belongings, a desk on the side with books and writing utensils, his queen side bed, next to it a small table, that held a photo frame.

He, Carlo, and his beloved wife.

He decided to just change his clothes and go to sleep, he can’t let the past consume him again.

Yet Geppetto lay awake at night, as time passed he couldn’t attain sleep, he tried to not let his thoughts get the better of him, but it was a hardship conquering his own demons.

Suddenly the small crack of his door opening got his attention, he sat in his bed to see in the dark Pinocchio standing in his room. He was wearing pajamas that belonged to Carlo.

“Oh Pinocchio, is there something you need?”

Pinocchio looked at him and grabbed his own hands, feeling nervous, eyes on the ground”

“I.. couldn’t rest”

He looked up to Geppetto.

“This is going to sound silly, but, can I… can I sleep on your bed? With you?”

Geppetto tried not to cry, his emotions a whirlpool of sadness and joy.

“Yes, of course, you can son, come here”

Pinocchio sat on the bed next to him, pulling the sheets, now both lying on the bed together.

Geppetto closed his eyes, the sleep was finally coming to him, he felt at ease.

He turned to face his son and wrapped his arms around him, and Pinocchio embraced him back.

What’s your honest thoughts on Doug? Since he’s pretty hated.

Doug is my babygirl I legitimately am so depressed that the fandom turned on him.

Genuinely what I saw happen with my own eyes is that when D3 came out, people who hated Chad and Audrey very vocally for many years decided that they didn’t hate Chad and Audrey anymore (since Audrey became a #misunderstoodgirlboss and Chad basically got relegated to Harmless Comedy Relief Goon), so they turned their ire onto Doug for being like, a mediocre boyfriend character.

Also a lot of people hate him because they hate Devie because Evie is often read as a lesbian in fandom. I 100% support and get why lesbian Evie is so popular, I definitely think the text supports that reading of her, but I don’t know why Doug has to get dragged into the crossfire here. Can’t they just break up amicably?

But I like Doug!!!! I like him a lot. Firstly because I think he’s a hugely important character if you look at Descendants from the “oh, this is a series designed to teach little kids and especially little girls about empathy and self-worth” perspective (which is ultimately what the series is for). He’s the Chad foil, and he teaches kids that your partner should like you for your personality, and support and encourage you when you try new things. All Doug does in all 3 movies is be a supportive boyfriend and hype Evie up.

In terms of the way I engage with Descendants text and fanon, I think Doug is a really funny character and I enjoy writing him a lot. I like the background of him and Chad being former friends who had a falling out as Chad became more of an asshole, who maybe reconnect as the series progresses. I also love Doug’s dynamic with Evie (whether or not they’re together) and Carlos (under-utilized combination!).

I love Doug being hugely involved in student government and school clubs and ESPECIALLY being over the top #1 school band hypeman. I love Doug genuinely having no concerns about VKs being evil (because a lot of the fear is perpetuated by royal families who are nervous about potential power struggles but Doug is smarter than that and thus unbothered). I love Doug being like, a completely, totally normal guy in this over the top fantasy world. He’s near and dear to my heart.

Sorry for rising from the dead this late. I didn’t go to Baku and decided to take a week off. I’m already in Miami and I’ve been for a week, jet lag is finally gone now. I went through the lens anon tag and I’m going to answer the questions you received. Are any of the wags actually beards? Not that I know of. Some of the relationships are really weird but none of them are that kind. How many rumors do you hear that the public doesn't know about? A lot. Some of these don’t make it to the gossip platforms because it would be very obvious who spread them. There are a lot of eye opening situations that can’t be shared now, but I’m sure they’ll be shared at some point. How close to their pr personality are the drivers really? The driver that’s closer to their pr personality is George. I haven’t had that many talks with him, but the way you see him on the media, that’s the way he is, so are Lewis, Nando and Kevin. Charles is a sweetheart, so is Max. The sweetest of them all is Mick. He is very kind and respectful to everyone. Carlos is very distracted. Fun fact he once bumped into my camera once for not looking 😂 Pierre is very nice too. None of them have been mean to me, but there are some that have a temper according to some colleagues. Who are the biggest gossips? Like mechanics or hospitality staff or drivers themselves? The mechanics (and PR managers because it’s their job). They know everything because they also talk with other mechanics. The AM mechanics take the crown for this one!

How long did you do the job and do you see a significant change in the way your job is handled? Like for me personally the WAG culture became on the nose only after covid hit. I can’t tell you exactly how long I’ve been in the sport because that could expose my identity, but things have changed and for me it’s been for the better. There are less restrictions and a little more support. The wag culture became big after DTS and Covid. The paddock has become a runway, and not in the good way. Rudest people. Can be Marco, bodyguards, team owners, wags or drivers. None. For me are other photographers that are constantly trying to compete with others. Random that attend the paddock too.

Anything shocking ever happened that's an open secret to you but was hushed up by powers that be. I'm thinking like the crash gate that's mentioned now by Massa and the amount of people in the paddock that just not mention it but are 100% aware. Specifically Monaco 22? Yes, some PR agents have done the impossible to get rid of a lot of dirt. Both for teams and drivers.

oh listen, Carlos and Lando absolutely are friends - and I don't wanna jump down your throat if you're not saying they aren't - but don't get me wrong, I enjoy carlando for what it actually is and not the 'secretly in love/fucking/relationship/actually gay for each other' version. ironically the reality is a lot sweeter and more real than desperately ignoring everything about Carlos to pretend he's gay or to pretend that Lando and Carlos rank even in the top 100 of people closest to them. sorry but to me the reality of baby Lando latching onto Carlos for support in F1 and Carlos quite liking this funny little dude fluttering around him even when they have nothing but driving, golf and beautiful women in common - like, that's sweet to me!! sorry ?? it's the whole imprinted on each other but we wouldn't normally be friends thing that happens in these little brother/big brother scenarios.

the fact is tho that carlando is indeed a major popularity and engagement spinner for everyone from F1 official to sponsors to Lando and Carlos themselves, and they both know that hanging out and documenting it can serve two purposes at once. the Australia stuff was all probably a bit too cynical but they wouldn't do any of it if they didn't actually enjoy spending time together! plenty of these sports bromances do similar things it's just that of the F1 bromances, carlando caught on with the 1D rpf conspiracy theorist pipeline by ticking every box. you'd think they'd catch on that it's all the ones they're convinced are RealTM that end up flopping butttt

and landoscar literally has no bromance content, no fake gay, not even excessive touching or physical proximity, Oscar isn't remotely interested in being camera friendly, they don't document any of their time together when it's not official media, and they don't remotely play up to the cameras together. the ship literally exists bc two guys like to watch each other with sweet dopey smiles, they are on a freakishly similar wavelength, have immense respect for each other, Oscar has observed and learned Lando to almost worrying degrees, and Lando has no filter so when he keeps having horny verbal burps about Oscar's body that make the people around them uncomfortable or awkward - and that Oscar just blushes and giggles through. it's absolutely not planned or strategic bc what a horrible strategy to try and convince fans to ship them like carlando and dando askflgsajlgflaf.

like, everything about Lando and Oscar's real life dynamic and friendship is one of the few cases where they're categorically known to not cynically try to promote it for fans and they don't play up to the cameras for engagement. literally they like each other and get on well and it's just. like that !!

Shaming fans for comprehending the TW canon’s nuanced takes on John and claiming that TW canon and fans are therefore idealizing him and putting him above Dean is anti type discourse.

It was bad enough when that came from the outright anti-TW permabitters now it’s coming from people who watch and—supposedly— support TW.

First it was “this show will suck because it idealizes John,” then when it became 100% clear that the show absolutely was not going to be doing that, but unpacking him as a person and showing his slow descent and how and why he became how he was, now stans are yelling at TW and at fans that it’s evil to take a nuanced approach to John.

What we saw in ep 4 especially was how this damaged yet good and still relatively innocent person could turn into the revenge-driven, obsessed, abusive father he becomes later in life.

Aggressively simplistic and flattening readings have a cost in fandom. You might think oh this doesn’t matter, because you dislike John. But this kind of simplistic, flattening thinking is the same mechanism behind hate towards our favorites on the mothership. And the hostility, the hatred, the abuse, the shaming towards fans simply for being capable of more nuanced lenses on canon. No one’s telling you what you have to like or not, maybe you could stop screaming at people for appreciating TW’s complex, multi-leveled, compassionate writing.

It’s not just reflecting on the central TW characters, it’s a reflection on beloved TFW characters and their arcs too, especially Dean’s. Given he is narrating, and TW is told through that prism of what insights Dean has gained.

And some people need to learn what “stanning” is before they start barking accusations about how people are “stanning John.”

And raging around the internet that any similarities between Dean and John is an insult to Dean, even attacking anybody who noticed what TW is doing….most of that FYI comes from people who are against the prequel. And some are more open and honest about it than others.

Some watch the prequel, they say they want it, then they get angry when TW utilizes the same basic narrative tools that the mothership has always used. From the start. The inanity of foot stomping in rage because children have some similarities to their parents even while they are not like their parents and have the self awareness and insight to not become the worst aspects of their parents.

How do people go through life not understanding that is a real thing????

What are the bitter stans going to do, jump on Jensen and Robbie’s throats for producing a prequel that has nuanced takes and makes valid parallels????

And I wish people would ease up on the simplistic slots they are forcing characters into, while TW is doing some beautiful, multi-tiered things. While TW leans more consistently into Sam-John similarities, and Dean-Mary similarities, at times we can see Dean in John, and Sam in Mary. We can see Sam, Dean, or Cas in any of the core four at moments. Carlos has some things that remind me of Dean and Cas. In Latika and John and Mary I see Sam more. Millie reminds me of Dean. But none of this is rigid and cemented and if it were, then it would be dull boring writing. Parallels are a literary device, they are not hard one-to-one identical correlations.

I don’t understand the buddie vs tarlos debate. I don’t care much for LS but regardless of why tim created tarlos, whether it was an alternative to buddie or not, more representation is always a good thing even if you (general you) don’t personally like the ship? again I don’t care about tarlos but I find it so hypocritical of some OG fans to claim buddie would be a great step toward better rep and then shit on tarlos, which is at the very least decent rep. even IF it was an alternative to buddie, more queer characters and relationships is something we should strive towards and not fight against or be bitter about. and yeah obviously tim caters to tarlos fans but I don’t see how that’s a bad thing, when showrunners are always catering to straight ships and audiences; even if it is fan service on some level, it’s still a good thing. also buddie happening or not won’t have anything to do with tarlos, it will happen if they decide they want it to happen, it’s not set in stone or tied to tarlos’ existence in any way, especially now that the shows don’t even do crossovers anymore and are mostly separate entities.

This is a message I can get behind.

I will never understand the excuse that one piece of queer rep somehow cancels out the wish for more or isn't "good enough" just because it's not what a viewer wanted to see. Nobody has to like LS or Tarlos, but to act as though they are "less than" based on how quickly they got together or what Tim does with their scenes...sounds like bitterness to me. - Sure, a lot of people enjoy a slow burn while watching a work of fiction, but plenty of couples IRL (regardless of gender and sexuality) go from 0 to 100 without thinking. Tarlos is an example of this while Buddie could/would be the opposite.

It's no different than people rooting for the Diaz parents to be homophobic because "We already saw what acceptance looks like through Carlos's story." (Most don't want the representation as much as they want the drama for fic purposes.) - It's one thing to be upset about (what feels like) fan service when it comes to Buddie scenes (because fandom doesn't know where the story is going or what to believe), but...Tim doing (mostly) right by the Tarlos fan base is a problem because...those fans get to be happy, and you're not? Is that it? Just because he's not eager to do what OG fandom is hoping for does not mean the viewers who have supported the canon m/m ship from day one should suffer alongside you. - Are a lot of Carlos's scenes intertwined with his partner? Yup. So are Karen's. So were David's. (So are Chimney's, for fuck's sake. But anyway...) You know what those characters have in common? They were/are recurring. Signed for less than a full season; sometimes way less depending on scheduling parameters. Carlos is being treated the same as the other two simply because it's what the contract dictates. Fewer opportunities for appearances means fewer opportunities to explore a character as an individual. That's how it goes. And, uh, just for argument's sake...if people are so opposed to Athena's career story lines...then surely Carlos The Cop is a less favorable option compared to The Boyfriend, yes? Rep is not good rep when you don't even want to consume the content. Ngl, I think a huge problem people have with Tarlos is knowing that they're (almost certainly) never going to split up unless something happens with one of the actors in the future. (The jealousy!) Being a recur means Rafael's main purpose is playing the significant other of a main. No Tarlos? Not as much of a reason to keep him around (sadly). Tarlos is presumably getting their happy ending (with some bumps in between). But with Buddie... What's the "ending"? Will it be happy?

Some headcanons from the Foster Care AU, where I am almost 50k in. Some will make it into the fic and some probably will not.

-Okay first Carlos 100% calls them Sunset Swerve to annoy them, as is his duty of being a little brother.

-Reggie and Willie's social worker is Maxine Gray from Judging Amy because that show is part of my DNA.

-Bobby goes to Los Feliz but isn't in the music program. He only knew Julie as 'that weirdo girl with the amazing voice who sometimes dances in the halls like she's the main character'. He likes her though, and always admired how she did shit like that without feeling self-conscious.

-Eventually, Bobby's grandparents get so sick that he can't keep being in the band. He actually flunks senior year and quits the band, telling them they'll do fine without him now that they have Julie, but he does have First Dibs on being their roadie once they make it big.

-After the lady selling tickets to Prom makes a big deal about how Alex can't take Willie (and Reggie is like: uh yeah he can, Luke got tickets for Julie just fine), they ditch prom. Because yeah, they could go to the principal, but the lady is threatening to tell everyone at Alex' parents' church about their sinner son and Alex just... can't. He's already scared about being kicked out the second he turns 18, he doesn't want to expedite the process.

-So of course Luke makes a giant speech about FUCK PROM and they all decide to ditch prom. Except Alex is sad because he really wanted the whole Prom Experience with Willie: the goofy pictures, the corsage, the slow dancing.

-And Reggie is all: um excuse we live with a photographer. We can make cliché prom pictures happen. Within like half an hour they have roped in Flynn and Julie and are planning the best Not Prom ever.

-Yes of course Tía and Ray help and probably even Emily because she was Sad to miss out on her baby going to prom and then so Proud when she learned why.

-Tía Victoria 100% took Alex and Willie shopping. (Separately, because she insists that seeing your date for the first time in their outfit on prom is A Thing.) She makes sure their outfits match.

-Luke kindly keeps his suit jacket and tie on until Bobby has picked him up and they're out of sight of his mom.

-Okay but do Ray and Emily maybe have a little text thread where they basically find creative ways to say 'fuck the Mercers' perhaps they do shhhh don't tell the kids.

-It might not make it into the fic but Reggie is studying to be a dog groomer until the band makes it big. Like, college isn't for him even with the Foster Kid Scholarship and Ray's support. And they promised No Record Contracts until Julie graduates high school so he needs something to do until they make it big.

-Bobby keeps saying he should practice on Luke because that's basically the same as a golden retriever, wriggles and bad breath and all.

-Alex does get kicked out of the house at 18 but the guys were on standby and basically came and picked him up, cheerfully barged their way inside by threatening to make a scene otherwise, cleared out everything that belonged to Alex (not much, they’d been quietly moving things out already over the past few weeks), stole all the toilet paper (thanks Bobby), and drove him straight to Ray’s house.

-Ray of course had already told Alex he was more than welcome to stay.

Burn Notice - s7 rewatch

I finished rewatching season 7 of Burn Notice a couple of weeks ago now, and on second watch, it worked better for me than it did the first time. The first time, the ending felt rushed, and I didn’t entirely buy into Michael’s switch of allegiance; but knowing it was coming, and watching the details more carefully, it seemed more realistic. And I’ve been pondering over it since, poking over what I felt were flaws on first viewing, and it holds together a lot better than I thought. It always made sense that Michael would turn against the CIA, given how they treated him and everyone he cares about, given the corruption he uncovered among them. On first watch, though, I didn’t buy that turning against the CIA would immediately mean siding with James. There had to be a third option. Except there pretty much wasn’t, from Michael’s perspective. He didn’t know that the rest of the gang were already working on the ‘get the hell out of the country’ plan – and even if he had known, the last time they all tried that, it went appallingly badly. Michael’s first choice for getting out was to die. He expected James to shoot him in the head, and he was so done with everything, he was fine with it. But James didn’t – instead he exploited Michael’s weakness. He knew that Michael was doing everything to keep the people he loved out of prison, and he offered Michael another way to do that. When Michael was in the world’s shittiest frame of mind and not likely to be making good choices, James dangled a carrot in front of him. And Michael being Michael, if he decides he’s going to do something, he goes for it 100%. That’s always been one of his primary strengths, but applied in the wrong circumstances, it becomes a massive flaw. In Nature of the Beast, Michael admits to Sam that he’s struggling, that he likes James and Sonya despite who they are, and he says he’s relying on Sam to help him. Two episodes later, when Fiona confronts him about it, he’s all, ‘Nope, I’m fine, nothing to worry about here.’ I don’t think he would have said that if he and Fiona had still been an item. But he knows that she’s moved on with Carlos, and there’s a combination there of Michael not wanting to dump his crap on her when she wants nothing to do with his world anymore, and Michael not wanting to rely on her when he’s no longer her priority. It’s a case where he’s protecting both of them from each other, I think, but it results in him turning away from support even though he knows he needs it. And he turns away from it more after some of the things he has to do. After he has to kill Roger Steele, after he watches James shoot the useless dude. Michael’s got some pretty bad self-loathing going on at that point, and he’s deliberately dodging the rest of the team because he doesn’t want them judging him too. When he needs help the most, he won’t ask for it any more. It's been apparent for a long time that Michael’s the most dangerous of the Burn Notice crew. Fiona’s dangerous because of what she might do when she’s furious, in a particularly bad moment. Michael’s dangerous because of what he might do when he’s cold and semi- rational. Because of that Larry-like part of him that’s he admits is in there. Michael might do terrible things when he’s not actually all that rational, but he thinks he is, and that can be so much worse. Sam and Jesse, meanwhile, are the stable ones of the group. Which isn’t to say that they can’t get angry enough to want to murder someone – they absolutely can. But they nail that shit down. It’s most obvious with Sam when they’re interrogating the guy who tells them how he took Sam’s friend out into the Everglades and shot him in the back of the head. At which point Michael grabs Sam and hauls him out of there – good call, you should absolutely do that. But later, Sam’s back inside asking the guy who paid him to do it. Which makes sense, because you don’t make the cut for a SEAL team if you can’t get a grip on yourself under just about any circumstances. And Jesse somehow manages not to murder Michael after he figures out Michael was the one who destroyed his life. Those two guys are reliable pretty much anywhere and anywhen – they’re the stability Michael needs to be utilising and isn’t. Another big flaw of Michael’s is that he’s willing to hurt people he cares about to protect them. He tells his mother early in season two that he ghosted her for ten years because he wanted to keep her away from his world. He knows the rest of the gang will vehemently disagree with what he’s doing, but Michael’s convinced himself he’s right. In his own head, he’s not turning on the gang, even when he is. When he and Sam climb out of the water after their fight, Michael leads his threat with, ‘Because we’re friends,’ - still present tense, even when he’s warning Sam to stay the hell away from him. And that fight on the bridge is SO perfectly done. We’ve seen disagreements between these two turn physical before when Sam’s tried to stop Michael from doing something stupid. With the stakes so much higher this time, neither of them were going to back down, and it was always going to get ugly. Sam knows that in a straight fight he’s going to lose, so he plays it smart and gets them into the water. It takes him a couple of tries, because Michael sees it coming. – they’re both smart. And it works. Sam has the advantage, and if he’d wanted to kill Michael, he could have. He loses because killing Michael is the absolute last thing he wants to do, and because near-drowning is so unbelievably dangerous. He has to loosen his grip and head for the surface the second Michael goes limp, and so Michael fakes him out. They both played to their strengths and their understanding of each other, and Sam really couldn’t have done anything differently. There are a couple of things in season 7 that don’t really work. First of them is that it takes Michael any time at all to make his decision on the roof. Sonya vs the woman he’s been in love with a decade – he really shouldn’t have to think about that. Even if Fiona tried to move on emotionally, it’s obvious all season that Michael hasn’t. Dramatic tension and all, but… nope. The big thing that bugs me is James’ security lapse. Sonya vouches for Michael, and then Michael gets put through days of sleep deprivation, drugs and interrogation before James will trust him. Which makes sense in a vile way. But then James takes Fiona, Sam and Jesse on trust because Michael trusts them? Meets up with them more than once, lets them see his face? Since when? It’s not even necessary for them to ever meet James. Michael could have worked with the rest of the gang exactly as Michael worked with Burke and Sonya prior to meeting James, all at one step removed. That’s what I would have expected. Yes, they have to be able to recognise James when they see him with Michael at the end of the series, and know that Michael’s lying to them. But they didn’t ever have to meet James for that. By then, they’ve already got James’ full name and background and details from his ex-colleague at the mental hospital, so they’d only need photos to recognise him. If James had stayed away from everyone but Michael and Sonya, that would have been consistent behaviour and changed nothing about the overall plot. The only detail that would have been different is that the others wouldn't have been there to see James kill the useless dude. But that could have been worked around. The others could have been all, 'Hey, where's useless dude these days?' and Michael wouldn't have wanted to explain. And they'd figure out he's dead quickly enough, and maybe they even start to speculate that maybe Michael killed him... Season 7 still has its glitches, but fairly minor ones in the overall plot arc. The writers wanted to send Burn Notice out with a dramatic bang, and they certainly did that.
