hey rem, I’m just curious, no judging—what’s the reason you left your religion? I found that you’ve been struggling more since you started to lose your faith, so I just wondered what made you take that decision?
Well, since you asked so kindly
I left my religion slowly, over a long time, for a lot of reasons.
The easiest one that most people accept is that I do t like Islam’s treatment of queer people, since being queer is a huge part of my identity and people are usually ready to accept that answer.
But it is not so cut and dry
The reason is that I do not believe in the concept of an all-powerful, all-knowing, and completely passionate and caring deity that presides over the universe.
If Allah exists, then he allowed a five year old child to be groomed and abused, by a man that styles himself as an Islamic Scholar, for almost nine years. He allowed that trauma to happen and allowed that man to die before he could face any justice for his crimes.
And for what? Because it’s part of his plan? If an omniscient and omnipotent being needs an innocent child to suffer like that for his plan to come to fruition, he is either not as compassionate as he claims or not as powerful as he claims.
People will tell me that he will burn in Jahannam for eternity for his crimes, but why was the crime allowed to happen at all?
Do you know why Muslims pray five times a day? The Quran tells the story, saying that on the night of Al Isra wal Miraj, the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) ascended to Jannat (heaven) and was able to speak to Allah, who told him that every Muslim was to pray to him 50 times a day. He accepted, and as he descended through the layers of heaven, the prophet Musa (Moses, peace be upon him) told him to go back up and negotiate it lower. 50 to 45 to 40 and so on until it went to 5. That’s why there are five daily prayers.
What sort of God is so egotistical that he needs every single believer to pray to him 50 times a day to prove they love him? If he is all knowing, why start with 50 and not just command it be 5? Why do you need 5 at all? Why do you need people to constantly tell you that they love you?
I have my own religious trauma, from things taught in classes to the fucking pedophile calling himself a priest who came to my home 90 minutes a day 6 days a week for 8 and a half years, who was too religious to celebrate a birthday or let anyone else do so but apparently not enough to avoid abusing children
There are many arguments to be made about why I dislike Islam, most of them can be boiled down to something someone or the other will argue to be “misinterpretations of the text” or “a cultural thing” or “personal choice”
But in the end, at my core, I do not believe in the concept of a perfect, unerring God. The “Perfect” god of Islamic and Christian faith, insofar as I have seen, has allowed untold carnage, depraved abuse, and unspeakable violence to occur with the promise that one day, if you’re good, if you follow the rules, and pray every day, things will eventually, some day, somehow, turn out fine.
I respect Muslims. I respect Christians. I respect every single religion and every person of faith because I believe they all want to be good and do good because I think that is the nature of humanity. Who they choose to attribute that good to is none of my concern. I believe that everyone is human before they are their religion. Neither goodness nor badness can be attributed to a religion. They all have supremacists and extremists and people that will give their lives away trying to do good and make the world a better place. But if a god comes and declares that they are responsible for all of that, including the bad, and are just letting it happen for “divine purpose”? I reserve the right to question that.
And for the record, sweetheart, I am not suffering more since I’ve left my religion. I’ve been suffering the same for a very long time, and it’s only now that I’m in college, away from home, that I’m getting the space to process all of it. And sometimes things have to get worse before they get better. Right now it’s just worse than usual because the holiest month of the Islamic year is about to start, and it is always tough on me.

Taliban made a statement. They cited Sons of Qurayza as evidence. They showed the Atiyya Qurazi hadith, in which it is narrated that adolescents who had pubic hair were killed.
Accordingly, is it permissible to kill enemy children who have just reached the age of puberty?
Even if they have reached puberty, what is the crime of a 13 or 15-year-old child?
Why were they held responsible for what their tribesmen did?
In the case of Qurayza, did they decide based on the mustache and beard or the pubic hair of a young man
The irregular armed forces called TALIBAN or ISIS/DEASH, which have occupied our agenda in recent days, regard Muslims who do not belong to them, as well as people of different religious beliefs or racial or ethnic origin, as enemies, in violation of international law and the moral values of Islam.
The acts of terrorism, killing, wounding, kidnapping carried out by those organizations are all acts of terrorism and those who do them are terrorists.
In Islam, there is also the law of war. First of all, it is necessary to have a state in order to declare war. Only states can declare war.
On the other hand, our religion does not allow the killing of women, children and unarmed people, even in war. According to our religion, such a deed means killing people unjustly, which is one of the greatest sins.
As for the incident of Qurayza, there was never any killing of children in it. On the contrary, it was done in order to find out whether they were among the warriors or not, and to save children from death.
It was done according to the law of war, according to the decision of the arbitrator chosen by the Jews themselves; the judgment was made according to the rule of the law of war of the Torah, in which they believed. The separation of the children was a just and fair practice.
Two narrations regarding the issue are as follows:
According to what was narrated from Kathir b. Saib, he said:
“The children of the tribe of Qurayza told me the following: After the Battle of Qurayza, the boys of Qurayza were presented to the Messenger of Allah (pbuh). Those of them who had reached the age of puberty and had pubic hair and armpit hair were killed. Those who had not reached the age of puberty and did not have pubic hair and armpit hair, beard and moustache were spared from death.” (Ibn Majah, Hudud: 4; Abu Dawud, Hudud: 17)
According to what was narrated from Atiyya al-Qurazi, he said:
“I was a child on the day when Sa’d b. Muadh made the judgment at the end of the battle of Sons of Qurayza as to who were to be killed and who were to be left alive. They hesitated as to whether I was a child or reached the age of puberty but they saw that I had no pubic hair, which is one of the signs of puberty, and they let me go. I have been with you since that day.” (Nasai, Talaq 20; Ibn Majah, Hudud 4; Abu Dawud, Hudud 17)
When the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) arrived in Madinah, there were Jewish tribes in addition to the tribes of Aws and Khazraj. One of those tribes was Sons of Qurayza. The Messenger of Allah (pbuh) made an agreement with them. According to the agreement, the parties would not be hostile to each other and would resist any attack on Madinah together.
Among the Jewish tribes in Madinah, Sons of Nadir had already been expelled from Madinah for breaking the treaty they signed.
The tribe of Sons of Qurayza also broke the treaty during the Battle of Khandaq. They betrayed the Messenger of Allah and sided with the polytheists. It put the Muslims of Madinah in great distress and caused them to experience scary moments.
Qurayshis, whose attacks against the Muslims were not successful and who suffered great casualties, retreated and returned to Makkah when their camps were shattered by the storm and their livestock perished.
Thereupon, the Messenger of Allah (pbuh) wanted to punish Sons of Qurayza, who had broken the agreement and committed high treason. He immediately sent his companions against Sons of Qurayza. Instead of apologizing to the Prophet (pbuh) and asking for peace, Sons of Qurayza took refuge in their castle and chose war. In addition, they uttered bad words about the Messenger of Allah.
The Muslims laid siege to the castle where the Jews had taken refuge. The siege lasted twenty-five days. Finally, they were tired of the siege; they began to fight and were defeated. They were willing to be expelled from Madinah like the tribe of Sons of Nadir. However, the Messenger of Allah did not accept their request and asked them to choose an arbitrator to make a judgement about them. They nominated Sa’d b. Muadh, their ally, as an arbitrator. Sa’d b. Muadh made the following judgment about them:
Those who fought among the Jews are to be killed, children and women are to be captivated, and their property is to be considered as booty.
At first glance, this judgment seems to be a bit harsh. However, this judgment on the Jews is in full accordance with the judgment in their holy book, the Torah.
The following is stated in the Torah:
“When you march up to attack a city, make its people an offer of peace. If they accept and open their gates, all the people in it shall be subject to forced labor and shall work for you. If they refuse to make peace and they engage you in battle, lay siege to that city. When the Lord your God delivers it into your hand, put to the sword all the men in it. 14 As for the women, the children, the livestock and everything else in the city, you may take these as plunder for yourselves...” (Old Testament, Deuteronomy 20/10-15)
In accordance with that decree, four hundred men of Qurayza were killed. The beard, mustache and pubic hair of those who were suspected of being children or youths were checked. Those who had pubic hair were considered to have fought and were killed; and those who did not were captivated.
It took place at a time when the young men were killed and the children were separated. Therefore, if they had been asked about age or puberty, the non-Muslims might not have told the truth because it was a matter of life and death. Even if the person in question had reached the age of puberty, he would have hidden it and claimed to be a child in order to save his life. Although the growth of pubic hair, mustache and beard is not a definite sign of puberty, it is a measure. Therefore, the pubic hair, mustache and beard of the Jews were checked.
Upon the order of the Prophet (pbuh), all the warriors who had been sentenced to death were given food and drink before the execution and were allowed to read the Torah.
Four warriors who converted to Islam during the siege were saved from execution.
The narrator of the second hadith, Atiyya al-Qurazi was not killed but left as a prisoner because he was a child at that time. He later converted to Islam.

🍂🥀🍂 Majlis 3 🍂🥀🍂
🍂🥀 Janabe John (ra) 🥀🍂
🥀 Surah al-Fatiha
Bismillahir Rahmanir Raheem
Today is the 3rd night of Muharram.
Majlis al-Hussain (as) continues. As the nights of Muharram go by, our hearts are weighed down with more and more grief. We continue to hear the majaalis about the tragedy of Karbala’.
‘Ashura’ day is not far away We will recite more marshias and nawhas. Our matam will increase. Our eyes will continue to shed tears for the Martyrs of Karbala’.
“Hussain! Muharram! Karbala’! ‘Ashura’! Marshias! Nawhas! Taboot! Alam! Mashk! Matam!”
When Lady Fatima (sa) hears these words, she joins us. She cries with us. She cries for ‘Aun and Muhammad, Qasim, ‘Abbas, ‘Ali Akbar, ‘Ali Asgar and Hussain, who are her family. She also cries for, and is thankful to those martyrs of Karbala’ who were not related to Hussain. She especially cries for them because they died in Karbala’ helping her son Husayn save Islam.
Among those not related to al-Hussain (as) were sixteen slaves. Most of them were from Ethiopia. Some belonged to Imam Husayn's family and others to the companions of the Imam.
On the night before ‘Ashura’, Imam and his companions had freed these slaves and urged them to go away to seek their safety. But none of the sixteen slaves left Imam Husayn. They understood Imam's (as) mission and preferred to die in Karbala’ with al-Hussain (as). They knew they would be rewarded with a place in Heaven.
Amongst them was a slave called John.
Today let us remember Janabe John and cry with Lady Fatima (sa) for his sacrifice in Karbala’.
Janabe John was sent as a gift from Abu Dharr Ghiffari, to the household of Imam Ali (as) and Lady Fatima (sa). In the company of Imam Ali (as) he learnt the tafseer of the Quran and traditions of the Holy Prophet (S). He also knew the Holy Quran by heart. When Imam Ali (as) was martyred, John stayed with Imam Hasan (as) and after Imam Hasan’s (as) death he stayed on with Imam al-Hussain (as).
Janabe John was blessed to be with the three Imams. What a lucky man!
When Imam al-Hussain (as) left Medina John insisted on joining him.
On the night before ‘Ashura’, John spent the whole night sharpening his sword whilst reciting the Holy Quran.
The next day was the tragic day of ‘Ashura’. At dawn ‘Ali Akbar (ra) gave the Adhan.
“Allahu Akber! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akbar! Allahu Akberl”
This was the last Adhan by ‘Ali Akbar (ra). It was recited with great emotion. Tears flowed from ‘Ali Akbar's (ra) eyes.
The sun rose from the east. By 10 am, the desert was like a furnace. The friends and family of al-Hussain (as) were suffering great hardship. They have been without water for three days now.
Yazid's (La) soldiers blew the trumpets to start the battle.
The battle of Karbala’ started.
One-by-one, Imam's (as) friends took permission to go for Jihad.
One-by-one al-Hussain’s (as) companions were martyred. All of them fought bravely and died a hero's death.
Imam al-Hussain (as), with his brother ‘Abbas (ra) and son ‘Ali Akbar (ra), went to the battlefield and carried their bodies to the tent.
At midday, after Dhuhr prayers, Janabe John came to Imam al-Hussain (as). He stood silently with arms folded.
Imam al-Hussain (as) looked at John (ra) and said:
“John! My friend John! What is the matter?”
“My master! Enough is enough I cannot bear to see any more suffering. I cannot bear to see the children of Lady Fatima (sa) killed in front of me. Please Master! Allow me to go to the battlefield.”
“John, you are an old man! Jihad is not wajib for an old man like you. No, John, no! I cannot allow you to die.”
John (ra) was determined to get permission.
“Master, I know why you are not letting me go to the battlefield. Is it because I am a black slave and you do not want the blood of a black slave to mix with the blood of the Holy family?”
Imam al-Hussain (as) was deeply shocked to hear this.
“John! My friend John! Do not say that! You know we do not keep such differences.”
“Go, John, go! Allah be with you!”
Imam Hussain (as) himself then helped dress John for the baffle. He mounted John (ra) on the horse and said:
“Fi aman Allah, John!”
John (ra) was very pleased with himself as he headed for the battlefield.
On his way to the battlefield he remembered his time with the Holy Prophet (S). He remembered how dearly the Prophet (S) loved his grandson, al-Hussain (as).
John remembered how the Prophet (S) himself used to nurse Hussain’s injuries, sustained whilst playing.
John remembered the day when Imam Hussain (as) climbed on the Prophet’s (S) back while he was praying Salat (Prayer). The Holy Prophet (S) stayed in sajda till Imam Hussain (as) came off his back. The Holy Prophet (S) did not want to hurt his beloved grandson.
John's eyes were full of tears as he reached the battlefield.
He spoke to the soldiers on the other side:
“Look at me! You have seen me with the Holy Prophet (S). Remember the Holy Prophet (S) by looking at me. You say the Holy Prophet (S) is the messenger of Allah. You call yourselves Muslims. Do you think the Holy Prophet (S) will be pleased with you for killing his beloved grandson?”
He continued:
“What has Hussain done to you? He is innocent. Leave him alone. Save yourselves from the Fire of Hell.”
Yazid's (La) soldiers were evil. They were not Muslims. They were not prepared to listen to the truth.
Janabe John (ra) was attacked. Arrows were fired from all directions. John fought the Jihad bravely. He sent many to the Fire of Hell.
Alas, how much can an eighty year old man take, thirsty and hungry for three days?
As he fell from his horse, he cried out:
“My Master! Come to see me! Let me see you for the last time.”
Imam Hussain (as) heard John (ra) calling him and he rushed to the battlefield. ‘Abbas (ra) and ‘Ali Akbar (ra) accompanied him.
Hussain (as), ‘Abbas (ra) and ‘Ali Akbar (ra) reached the battlefield where John (ra) was lying wounded and taking his last breaths.
Imam Hussain (as) placed John's head on his lap. Tears poured from Hussain’s eyes.
“John! I am very sorry! You are leaving my home without food or water for three days. John! Please forgive me!”
“Master! Why are you sorry? You have done me a big favour by letting me fight and sacrifice my life for Islam.”
Janabe John continued:
“Look, Master, look! Who has come to receive me? The Holy Prophet (S) himself is here. Lady Fatima (sa) is here. Master ‘Ali (as) and Master Hasan (as) are here!”
Janabe John's (ra) soul was taken away to Heaven.
Inna Lillahi Wa Inna Ilaih Raja’oon!
We are from Allah and to Him we will return!
Matam al-Hussain (as)!

THE FEMALE COMPANIONS OF THE PROPHET (PBUH): Part 16
HIND BINT UTBA (radhiallahu anha)
When the Islamic army conquered Makkah, small street fights took place. After that, the Kaaba was cleaned from idols. The vast compassion and tolerance of the Messenger of Allah were in action again; those who left their swords and took refuge in the Kaaba were forgiven.
The hard-hearted people softened when they saw the grandeur of the Islamic army and the tolerance of the Messenger of Allah; many people among whom were some notables of the polytheists saw the truth and started to become Muslims one by one. The Messenger of Allah accepted their allegiance one by one and allowed them to enter Islam as if there had been no enmity between him and them. For, Islam did not ask about the past after sincere repentance and regret.
The Muslims filled the Kaaba at night on the same day as Makkah was conquered in order to fulfill their longing that lasted for years for worshipping in the Kaaba and in order to thank their Lord, who enabled them to conquer Makkah after troubled and painful days. Some of them worshipped alone while others worshipped in the congregation. Some of them were bowing down while others were prostrating or standing. The Kaaba was full of people. It was like the Gathering Place. The sounds of “Labbayk” and, “Allahuakbar” filled the earth and the sky. The prayers coming from hearts were expressed by the tongues; they became clear and reached their Lord through the hands that were opened.
There was somebody who was watching this scene from a high place. This scene increased the excitement of this observer and caused spiritual revolutions in her inner world. This observer was Hind bint Utba, the wife of Abu Sufyan, who had just become a Muslim. Hind had made Wahshi kill Hz. Hamza, the hero of Islam, during the Battle of Uhud. The holy scene in the Kaaba softened the heart of Hind and eliminated polytheism. Hind told her husband Abu Sufyan about her decision at about midnight:
“I want to pay allegiance to Muhammad.”
Astonished by this statement of his wife, Abu Sufyan said,
“But you deny Islam.”
Hind answered her husband as follows:
“Yes, I used to deny Islam but now I definitely believe that Allah was not worshipped truly in this mosque (the Kaaba) before tonight. I swear that the Muslims spent the whole night by performing prayers, standing, bowing down and prostrating.”
When Abu Sufyan saw that his wife was determined, he said to her,
“Take one of your relatives and go to Muhammad.”
The next day, Hind, her brother Abu Hudhayfa and her sister Fatima went to the Messenger of Allah. The Messenger of Allah told them about Islam and said that he would accept their allegiance based on some conditions. While Hind was about to pay allegiance to the Messenger of Allah, she said,
“I cannot pay allegiance to you promising that I will not steal. For, you know that Abu Sufyan is very stingy. I steal from his things because he does not give me enough things and food.”
The Messenger of Allah told her to go to Abu Sufyan and ask forgiveness from him and added that he would not accept her allegiance otherwise. Hind went to Abu Sufyan and told him about the conversation between him and the Messenger of Allah. Abu Sufyan forgave her. Hind went to the Messenger of Allah joyfully. This time, she was different. She covered her body. The Messenger of Allah accepted her allegiance. Then, Hind expressed her feelings as follows:
“O Messenger of Allah! Beforehand, I did not feel hatred for any tent here more than your tent. I did not want any tent to be plundered more than your tent. However, I swear by Allah that I ask Allah to improve and bless your tent today.”
The Messenger of Allah addressed her as follows:
“I swear by Allah that you will not be regarded to have believed truly unless you love me more than your children, mother, and father.”
When Hind returned home, the first thing she did was to break the idol at home into pieces. With every blow she gave to the idol, she said,
“I was deceived by you.”
She also attained the endless bliss of Islam. (Isaba, 4: 425.)

[Image Descriptions: Two nearly identical images. Both feature a feminine person with light skin and short brown hair, seen from the back. They are wearing a purple t-shirt and blue denim pants. They have both their hands up in front of them, the middle finger of each extended. Beyond them is the depiction of the abrahamic god yahweh (or allah, or any number of other names) used in the Shin Megami Tensei franchise, specifically as seen in SMT4 Apocalypse, taking on the form of several identical floating heads of the same old man, seemingly made of gold and all scowling at the person blatantly insulting it while in its presence. Text on the image reads as follows:
"It cast its creation to ruin for the crime of wanting to know." "It drowned countless innocents in a vain attempt to rid them of evils it had made." "It demanded a father sacrifice his son. It ruined a man's life for the sake of a personal gamble." "It ordained and commanded the taking of slaves, the violation of women, and the abuse of children." "It murdered its own son before it could even be bothered to forgive anyone of the wrongs it so selfishly perceived to be done against it." "Those of certain groups claim that one day, every knee shall bow before this monster. Were it to be real, I shall not bow. I shall stand firm and tall before the tyrant of the skies, in opposition of all its evil couched in the language of the good, and present to it a salute befitting my fury at its indignant entitlement."
The second image removes the text, allowing the illustration behind to be seen completely unobscured.

I'm having very strong feelings about religions' insistence--specifically christianity, as that's my experience--that people follow its rules whether or not they genuinely believe it. I'm especially having strong feelings about the specific god shared by three major religions, even if they want to pretend there's enough distinction between their views on it to make it count as different between them.
So to everyone who would ever say people like me will have no choice but to bow to their god after I'm dead and literally can't do or experience anything, this one's for you. I hope it gets you just as angry as it makes me to see kids get roped into this near-endless cycle of needless guilt and coercion. And for those of you who are like me and are frustrated with the secular world being bent so far by these zealots as it reaches the breaking point of potential theocracy coming to ill-earned power in the more influential nations, I hope this inspires you to speaking out for yourselves.
...and yes, this is SMT yahweh, it's the best visual representation of this asshole for the point I'm making and it also makes it easier to make the image composition as a whole more visually appealing when I can just copy-paste the same angy head over and over again.

Day 23: Are you making dua for anything specific? (Any dua you want us to make for you?)
Well, one duā that is always constant in my duā lists is may Allāh let us all the Muslim ummah reach Ramadan next year too. And may Allāh make us among the forgiven ones. But this year I have a really important (& tough I might add) exam right after Ramadan, which I think I'm gonna fail because I'm not prepared really well, so I'm making lots of duā for that too. If you guys would be kind enough to make it for me it'd be really really really helpful 🥹❤️‍🩹
May Allāh make it easy for all of the students who are appearing for exams in and/or after Ramadan.
Day 24: Share an Eid memory that sticks out to you! What kind of Eid traditions do you have?
Definitely the night before Eid. It feels so magical. Staying up all night, going to the rooftop, searching for the moon, help the ladies clean the whole house, helping with the Eid desserts, that one cousin who knows henna almost breaking her back 😭
Chand raat tradition is really the best!
Day 25: Who is a sahaba (companion of the prophet) that you feel inspired by? Can you share the story that inspires you?
Each and every one of them were inspiring in their own way. The way they held onto their faith despite being tortured, called out, harrassed. The way they were patient while going through tough trials and hardships. Abu Bakr رضي الله عنه spending his wealth on freeing the slaves that were tortured just for accepting Islam, going to that blind women's house doing all her house work, preparing food for all her children all that in secrecy. Khadija رضي الله عنها leaving all her comfort and luxuries, being the first to believe him (ﷺ). Fatima رضي الله عنها never getting to witness the peaceful days before Prophethood like her other siblings, being a 10 year old and treating her father's wounds. Bilal رضي الله عنه not stepping away from his beliefs despite being brutally tortured. I don't think I can pick a single one. All of them were inspiring in their own way. May Allāh be pleased with them all and gather us all with them in Jannatul Firdous.
Day 26: Mention your favorite story about the Prophet Muhammad, or which of his qualities you look up to the most.
His kindness, the way he went out of his way and treated people with kindness, even those who wronged him. I mean who among could face the person with a smile who is the reason your uncle isn't in this world anymore? Also the story of prophet's (ﷺ) son passing away: Anas ibn Malik رضي الله عنه reported: We entered the house of Abu Sayf along with the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) who was the husband of Ibrahim’s wet-nurse, upon him be peace. The Prophet (ﷺ) took hold of Ibrahim, kissed him, and smelled him. Then, we entered after that as Ibrahim was breathing his last breaths. It made the eyes of the Prophet (ﷺ) shed tears. Abdur Rahman ibn Awf رضي الله عنه said, “Even you, O Messenger of Allah?” The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “O Ibn Awf, this is mercy.” Then, the Prophet (ﷺ) wept some more and he said, “Verily, the eyes shed tears and the heart is grieved, but we will not say anything except what is pleasing to our Lord. We are saddened by your departure, O Ibrahim.” the way it shows that we're allowed to grieve and shed tears that our prophet (ﷺ) did too. A lot of people think you're not allowed to do it, you should have sabr, sabr doesn't just mean being patient, you're allowed to feel things, you're allowed to cry, it's the mercy that our hearts are not hardened.

okay i have TEN MINUTES to type out my thots about the last two tng eps i watched. day before yesterday was a surprise watch of "the icarus factor" together and last night i did "pen pals"
the icarus factor: i have nnnnever been more angry IN my entire life. riker's dad sucks so bad he sucks SO BAD
that being said the episode was horrifically sloppy. it could have been a must see but it was all over the place and committed so many crimes
firstly, i dont understand the point of offering riker a promotion in this episode when 1. he already canonically turned down a promotion to be here and 2. it didn't tie into his daddy issues in any way whatsoever
also, why did they have his dad DATE THIS DOCTOR LADY? not only is that extremely uncomfortable for everyone involved (can you imaaaagine your parent bringing home a coworker or vice versa seeing a coworker show up at work with your parent) but it ALSO served no function - pulaski didn't tell us anything about riker's dad that he didn't know and we didn't know
it also used up basically all of my goodwill that had been generated re: pulaski. she really is just a knock-off bones and she's actually so boring because of that and even her dating riker's dad and being a chronic divorcee didn't make her interesting. sigh. once again i'm sorry women.
i also don't understand worf's b-plot being about his ten year (although wesley trying to get them both into the dead dad club was HILAAARIOUS and maybe the most i've ever liked wesley so far, i'm allowed to say this since i'm also in the club). i feel like worf's >:( should have been something to do with riker's daddy issues either a disapproval of his parenting or a lack of understanding of why it's bad parenting or SOMETHING bc that needed to be the whole episode and the b plot was just so ??? like it's a b plot i would have enjoyed in a diff ep but not this one
and finally, after ALL of that, after outlining in detail what a shitty person riker's dad is, how he felt the need to compete with his own child who he was also emotionally and physically neglecting so much so that he CHEATED and felt proud for it, how he never put anything before his career, AND
AFTER HE SAID
"IT WASN'T AS HARD FOR YOU BECAUSE YOU WERE IN DIAPERS WHEN SHE DIED"
WHICH MADE ME SO ANGRY I ALMOST BLACKED OUT
the man didn't even apologize. the word "sorry" never left his mouth he just told his shitty sob story and that was it. they yelled some japanese at each other while doign this martial arts thing and will was like glad you came pops and they hugged and that was the end. and also he didn't take the promotion because we knew he wouldn't. girl come ON.
pen pals: the first half of this episode sucked real bad. picard and the horses was awful and i don't think he should be allowed to say the word "allah" on television
wesley getting his own command...eh. it was fine and he hasn't been nearly as annoying in s1 as he was in s2 but i don't care so i was tapping my watch and waiting to get to the ACTUAL episode. it was so tedious to watch everyone argue about his mental wellbeing and future or whatever. who cares. he shouldn't even be here there should not be children aboard starships
i liked the part with data's pen pal BUT i also think he knows better than to violate the prime directive like that. if he slipped and did it once and then confessed that'd be one thing but 8 weeks?? he wouldn't fucking say that
i was also ??? when he beamed her up and didn't leave her in the transport room...idk, i like that he has feelings, and she WAS cute if a little uncanny (the voice filter sounds like the one tumblr used in that one interview lol), but it seems like if you wanted an episode About Data he could have fugured out that third answer of how to both save her and obey the prime directive, instead of getting yelled at and/or ignored by picard and then picard doing it. (man when picard asked for tea first from the replicator while data was trying to get his attention...)
at least pulaski was nice to him i guess :/
tonight, "q who," which will sadly probably have q in it, but at least i get to meet the BORG. at long last...................................

Jumu'ah Khuthbah: 28 July 2023
Ya Shakur (Divine gratitude) that we have been made to taste the sweetness of the Tilt Table, your Ammu's new therapy device, funded by your Nana - Alhamdulillah! Along with the sweetness of the beginning of healing after a bitter happening in our inner social circle.
Tumblr media Tumblr media
ABOVE: My current star Physiotherapist waving at my past legendary Physiotherapist, who I gratefully surrendered to support her husband's move to Australia. Allah entrusted me with two souls that I connect with, beyond health care - Subhana'Allah!
#1. I couldn't help feeling emotional as Anne declared naturally happens during this time, closer to the 10th of Muharram or the Day of Ashura. With my miniscule challenge, Alhamdulillah, I could feel closer to Husayn RA, his family, and his supporters' pain, also at the hands of fellow Muslims.
#2. Shaykh Nishaat continued to project haqq (truth) when he said that Allah does not seek our knowledge but our sincerity! We must try and understand that we came into the world with a purpose. Are we reflecting and manifesting that purpose? Do we realise the deeply endearing Hadith Qudsi reality; where our eyes and feet become Allah's, how does it manifest into a reality? It is so that we can have a meaningful and real relationship with Allah.
Tumblr media
Then, the royal Ghoor was made to humorously reflect on a conservative mode of Islam, which he was initially drawn to, until he was freed by Sufism. In summary, unlike conservative modes of Islam, we were told that we must understand, then live the lessons, and only then share as the ideal form of jamaat (community, group or assembly). We were reminded about another beautiful insight that we are striving for by ascertaining our unique purpose, and that is to know our Rabb (Lord).
#3. Shaykh Taner next reflected a personally discovered insight without his initial direction, when he spoke about Hazrat Husayn and his supporters who were martyred on the 10th day of Muharram. If we keep demonising the people that did this to them, it perpetuates negativity! We have to turn it around ...
It's Allah's business what He does to the original offenders, but may Allah guide their children to the straight path too. In our lives, we must pray for ourselves and our "enemies" too. Similarly, I have been observing our Tariqa's Positivity Prayers for everyone in my past and present, whether they have been a source of light or darkness, seeking collective guidance and forgiveness for all! Subhana'Allah for this palpably felt "rope", or connection to Allah through Sufism!
#4. He then delved deeper into the necessity of the Positivity Prayers. He explained that our Sufi job protocol is to transform negativity into positivity. How do we convert negative occurrences into positive outcomes? By our actions and prayers!
Being with Allah is staying positive, and choosing Shaytaan is veering into negativity. Negativity and positivity are both kinetic energy, and we can enact both with intention and action. Channeling positivity instead of negativity certainly allows more productive use of our energy in life, Ya Shakur!
#5. Anne finally declared undeniable truths where when we are with Allah; that is the ideal but our free will is shaping our world too, for a short time. So it is smarter to surrender our free will to Allah, to see what He will do through us!
She also reflected upon a personally realised miracle of the moment where I have time and energy to learn, live and love Allah - like never before, and because I am an accident survivor! She said that when Allah wants us to do things, we will be happier if we just hang in there ... The art of living is through connection.
This connection has sustained us through the uncertainty inflicted by our inner social circle. Shukran Ya Allah for creating a definite and real purpose in us, as grateful Sufis! Onto your Abbu's Arabic Khuthbah, bismillah...

"The Forest Dwellers." Conclusion to Surah 26, Ash Shu'ara, "The Firing Line."
Tumblr media
Life on the Firing Line includes watching incompetent mentally retarded persons allow deviant dipshits to start wars, mint ammunition and move troops around while rivers of shit fall on people's houses.
Tumblr media
Don't ask for help, not yet, you're going to want to wait and itemize your damages because more are surely on the way as the world's governments contemplate what to serve as the main course after all these delightful politically disastrous appetizers they've served us.
Bon apetit!
The Quran however says not to sample trouble and then wait for more. About mankind's appetite for destruction, the Angel Jibril said: do not let your eyes be deceived, see the forest for the trees:
26: 176-227:
The residents of the Forest rejected the messengers
when Shu’aib said to them,1 “Will you not fear ˹Allah˺?
I am truly a trustworthy messenger to you.
So fear Allah, and obey me.
I do not ask you for any reward for this ˹message˺. My reward is only from the Lord of all worlds.
Give full measure, and cause no loss ˹to others˺.
Weigh with an even balance,
and do not defraud people of their property. Nor go about spreading corruption in the land.
And fear the One Who created you and all˺ earlier peoples.”
They replied, “You are simply bewitched!
Also, you are only a human being like us, and we think you are indeed a liar.
So cause ˹deadly˺ pieces of the sky to fall upon us, if what you say is true.”
Shu’aib responded, “My Lord knows best whatever you do.”
So they rejected him, and ˹so˺ were overtaken by the torment of the day of the ˹deadly˺ cloud.1 That was really a torment of a tremendous day.
Surely in this is a sign. Yet most of them would not believe.
And your Lord is certainly the Almighty, Most Merciful.
This is certainly a revelation from the Lord of all worlds,
which the trustworthy spirit ˹Gabriel˺ brought down
into your heart ˹O Prophet˺—so that you may be one of the warners—
in a clear Arabic tongue.
And it has indeed been ˹foretold˺ in the Scriptures of those before.
Was it not sufficient proof for the deniers that it has been recognized by the knowledgeable among the Children of Israel?1
Had We revealed it to a non-Arab,
who would then recite it to the deniers ˹in fluent Arabic˺, still they would not have believed in it!
This is how We allow denial ˹to steep˺ into the hearts of the wicked.
They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment,
which will take them by surprise when they least expect ˹it˺.
Then they will cry, “Can we be allowed more time?”
Do they ˹really˺ seek to hasten Our torment?
Imagine ˹O Prophet˺ if We allowed them enjoyment for years,
then there came to them what they had been threatened with:
would that enjoyment be of any benefit to them ˹at all˺?
We have never destroyed a society without warners
to remind ˹them˺, for We would never wrong ˹anyone˺.
It was not the devils who brought this ˹Quran˺ down:
it is not for them ˹to do so˺, nor can they,
for they are strictly barred from ˹even˺ overhearing ˹it˺.
So do not ever call upon any other god besides Allah, or you will be one of the punished.
And warn ˹all, starting with˺ your closest relatives,
and be gracious to the believers who follow you.
But if they disobey you, say, “I am certainly free of what you do.”
Put your trust in the Almighty, Most Merciful,
Who sees you when you rise ˹for prayer at night˺,
as well as your movements ˹in prayer˺ along with ˹fellow˺ worshippers.
He ˹alone˺ is indeed the All-Hearing, All-Knowing.
Shall I inform you of whom the devils ˹actually˺ descend upon?
They descend upon every sinful liar,
who gives an ˹attentive˺ ear ˹to half-truths˺, mostly passing on sheer lies.1
As for poets, they are followed ˹merely˺ by deviants.
Do you not see how they rant in every field,1
only saying what they never do?
Except those who believe, do good, remember Allah often, and ˹poetically˺ avenge ˹the believers˺ after being wrongfully slandered. The wrongdoers will come to know what ˹evil˺ end they will meet."
Commentary:
We are acting like we are bewitched by as bunch of walking talking butt plugs and it is embarrassing to the gods of Islam. The Angel repeated the Fatwa, do not allow liars and corruption to dictate the emotions and well being of the human race and that is what we are doing. This is in our control contrary to popular misconception.
The Quran must not be forgotten. The line must be outspoken, it must be unbroken until it is heard.
Thus concludes the Surah.
Ash Shu and Ra.
أششورا
Say what you see.
The Quran and its Prophet do not come across as all that Buddhist, but the thoughts within do suggest one should negate all that is not immediately clear without legitimate criteria. If what is seen is not of God, it must be rained upon until purity is attained. This is the final thought of the Surah and also the Khatimah I have created.

Same age (29y)coworker in daycare is fundemantally christian and im getting mad every day a lil more via /r/atheism
Same age (29y)coworker in daycare is fundemantally christian, and im getting mad every day a lil more I got a new coworker, we work in groups of 10 children of age 1-3, in a non-religious daycare and I'm baffeld by his world views and comments. A boy grabs a doll, he laughs lightly and points out to me, that the boy grabbed a DOLL!!. He explains every behaivoir of the children through their gender 'boy A is so energized and loud, thats very typical for a boy.'. 'Shes so quiet, but shes a girl, thats normal.' 'Oh look a J, he is very sulky for a boy.' And he so proud of every boy that gets used to him and reasons it with stupid shit. 'W. came all by his own to me. He knows I'm also a male and can protect him'. 'F. is smiling at me now, she realized I'm a father figure to her.'. So, that are examples for old gender roles. Additionally he always wears sweaters with big font 'Jesus loves you', 'you need jesus in your life to be happy', 'only in jesus we can trust'. Etc.. every day its one of those sweaters. He talkes about his community every day, they went here and there at the weekend, a pastor for this city came, etc etc. Around easter we hid chocolade easter eggs for the kids in the playground, and he told me that this has nothing to do with easter,.(in a very judging way). He also told the children some stuff that is factually wrong and harmful, like he showed kids a worm and told them to cut it apart, then there will be 2 worms. They regenerate and live on as 2 individuals. Before a kid could act on the suggestion i stepped in and told them and him sternly that this is a myth and not true. You'll hurt the worm and he'll be lucky if he survives it, and even then only the part with its head survives, his lower part will die. He wouldn't belive me and told me the back will still move and live. I aked him, if he ever googled it and showed him proof within a minute. He just shrudd his shoulders and said, he learned it that way and hes confident that hes right. Grrrrr. And this is just an example. There is so much misinformation in his brain that he shares with us and with the kids! that is alarming. I guess his community disencourages to use the internet for research, i cannot phantom how else he could be so stern and clueless. Also with music, he told me there's only remixes nowadays. Only (insert this german christian sing and songwriter) has original music. I told him that this remix trend is maybe strong on the radio these days, but there are soooo many uncountable new bands, singer and songs out there from every genre. He just dismissed it and assured me, they are copying and using samples form old songs, like that one!(points to the air, radio was playing a remix of "bailando". Hes with us 5 weeks now and at first i only new from his application that his hobbies involve bible reading , and i got aware of his sweaters. But as more i interact with him, i see that this Christian mentality is ingrained in every action hes doing. Its scary. I did not ask my boss yet, how to handle that, because i didn't want to be an ass, but its getting more and more clear that i dont want this for the kids. Maybe you can help me with my first steps? Would asking my boss about general religious afflictions within the workplace a good start? Maybe she can tell me the rules for how much of our own personal belief we are allowed to display at work. We also have a muslim coworker that wears a hijab, but she never mentions allah or Mohammed or talks genderdivided about or with the kids. So i i just point out to his font sweaters, maybe it will fall into the clothes are okay, look at the muslim, i can't forbid her to wear a hijab, otherwise she will not able to work here at all. Maybe some insight, or just your opinion or whatever, I'd appreachiate it. Submitted April 13, 2024 at 11:52AM by 100SacredThoughts (From Reddit https://ift.tt/PSof5WR)

Tafsir Ibn Kathir: Surah Yusuf Ayah 58-62
In the Name of Allah, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful.
12:58 And Yusuf's brethren came and they entered unto him, and he recognized them, but they recognized him not.
12:59 And when he furnished them with their provisions, he said: "Bring me a brother of yours from your father. See you not that I give full measure, and that I am the best of the hosts!''
12:60 "But if you bring him not to me, there shall be no measure (of corn) for you with me, nor shall you come near me.''
12:61 They said: "We shall try to get permission (for him) from his father, and verily, we shall do it.''
12:62 And (Yusuf) told his servants to put their money into their bags, so that they might know it when they go back to their people; in order that they might come again.
Yusuf's Brothers travel to Egypt
Allah tells:
And Yusuf's brethren came and they entered unto him, and he recognized them, but they recognized him not.
As-Suddi, Muhammad bin Ishaq and several others said that the reason why Yusuf's brothers went to Egypt, is that after Yusuf became minister of Egypt and the seven years of abundance passed, then came the seven years of drought that struck all areas of Egypt. The drought also reached the area of Kana`an (Canaan), where Prophet Yaqub, peace be upon him, and his children resided.
Prophet Yusuf efficiently guarded the people's harvest and collected it, and what he collected became a great fortune for the people. This also permitted Yusuf to give gifts to the people who sought his aid from various areas who came to buy food and provisions for their families. Yusuf would not give a family man more than whatever a camel could carry, as annual provisions for them.
Yusuf himself did not fill his stomach from this food, nor did the king and his aids eat except one meal a day. By doing so, the people could sustain themselves with what they had for the remainder of the seven years. Indeed, Yusuf was a mercy from Allah sent to the people of Egypt.
Yusuf's brothers were among those who came to Egypt to buy food supplies, by the order of their father. They knew that the Aziz of Egypt was selling food to people who need it for a low price, so they took some merchandise from their land with them to exchange it for food. They were ten, because Yaqub peace be upon him kept his son and Yusuf's brother Binyamin with him. Binyamin was the dearest of his sons to him after Yusuf.
When Prophet Yusuf's brothers entered on him in his court and the center of his authority, he knew them the minute he saw them. However, they did not recognize him because they got rid of him when he was still young, and sold him to a caravan of travelers while unaware of their destination. They could not have imagined that Yusuf would end up being a minister, and this is why they did not recognize him, while he did recognize them.
As-Suddi said that;
Yusuf started talking to his brothers and asked them, "What brought you to my land?''
They said, "O, Aziz, we came to buy provisions.'' He asked them, "You might be spies.''
They said, "Allah forbids.''
He asked them, "Where are you from?''
They said, "From the area of Kana`an, and our father is Allah's Prophet Yaqub.''
He asked them, "Does he have other children besides you?''
They said, "Yes, we were twelve brothers. Our youngest died in the desert, and he used to be the dearest to his father. His full brother is alive and his father kept him, so that his closeness compensates him for losing our youngest brother (who died).''
Yusuf ordered that his brothers be honored and allowed to remain,
And when he furnished them with their provisions,
according to their needs and gave them what they wanted to buy,
he said: "Bring me a brother of yours from your father.
he said to them, "Bring me your brother from your father's side whom you mentioned, so that I know that you have told me the truth.''
He continued,
See you not that I give full measure, and that I am the best of the hosts!
encouraging them to return to him. He then threatened them,
But if you bring him not to me, there shall be no measure (of corn) for you with me.
He threatened them that if the next time they come without Binyamin with them, they will not be allowed to buy the food that they need,
"...nor shall you come near me.''
They said: "We shall try to get permission (for him) from his father, and verily, we shall do it.''
They said, `We will try our best to bring him with us, so that we spare no effort to prove to you that we are truthful in what we told you about ourselves.'
Allah said,
And (Yusuf) told his servants, (or his slaves),
to put their money,
or the merchandise they brought with them to exchange for food,
into their bags,
while they were unaware,
so that they might know it when they go back to their people;
in order that they might come again.
It was said that Yusuf did this because he feared that his brothers might not have any more merchandise they could bring with them to exchange for food.

Jin Shin Jyutsu - The beginning
Sunday 28 May 2023, 8 Dhu Al Qi’da 1444 A start of my Jin Shin Jyutsu journey through the intro session by Laila Moustafa.
A practice that relies on no tools, that is possible to apply on oneself, and that is no other than basic, no stretching of the imagination and none of what is required in Bagua for instance: to train to perform what may not be innate or natural and even if so, that requires a moving out of a position to taking another position, in a space no matter how small. Here we’re saying basic: hold your finger, make sure that both hands are at an end of a loop to close the circuit, everything is reachable, no bending over, your knee, your toe, your finger, your spatula, your neck, your chest. Reachable, sitting, lying down, standing, and at times needing to fold to reach, but nothing too demanding, and if it is demanding, skip, move to the next point, or next sequence, there are alternatives.
I am leaning towards this practice, I have not yet seen its full extent, I’ve only witnessed that something moves in me at times, not always, that I know I’ve witnessed but that I would not try to convince another person of. Will it be the route to heal physical pain? perhaps. Perhaps it’s not what I am after though I hope at some point I will have enough faith in Allah to know that yes a tool that I seek can be a path to full recovery from physical healing and that that is accompanied undoubtedly with the will and of Allah the All Willing, the Kind the Merciful, the Healer.
Why Jin Shin Jyutsu, because it is simple. Because it speaks about the greatness of this creation that God has created, a body that is ‘clever‘. It also is a path to humility, something our day and age needs a lot reverting back to: you human are not the healer, you are the bottlenecker, or the tool, you yourself are not the healer.
I write this on Wednesday 12 July, at Apricot cafe, serenely, less than two months since the introduction, and after having taken the first coupled sessions by Laila Moustafa, Wednesday 7 June, and Sunday 11 June 2023. I practice, basics, and sometimes in ways less than perfect as to the placement of my palm on a point, one of the 52 (26 on each side of the body). Still, I have experienced sensations. I won’t say change, simply sensations.
Right palm on my عصعص Left palm on my عانة and the sensations were such: the first time I felt heaviness piling up in my legs especially around the بطة like something was trying to circulate but was not. I was seated then, on a couch, legs downward. The second time or one of the times, I was lying on my left side, a while into it, my right leg nudged, like a leg may in deep sleep and wakes one up. A third time too I was on my right and I felt things that I am not trained yet to have caught in words.
The other part is an emotion, Jin Shin Jyutsu speaks of Worry, Sadness, Anger, Fear, and تصنع, I feel an awareness that I did not have till, an awareness about fear, how deeply rooted fear is in me, and I thirst to hold the fear finger, the مشير / إبهام. Once I held it and hoped noone interrupt that stretch, I felt like I was recovering a severe depletion, nourishing beyond hunger, it calmed a while into it, perhaps more than the 20 minutes recommended.
So I now seed an intention, a direction, to become a student of this knowledge called the Art of Jin Shin Jyutsu, a dedication to it to apply it, to pass it on, to learn it, to teach it, but mostly to utilize it.
It speaks to my sniffing my way to what is the baseline, here in recovery. This goes beyond everything I have learnt and applied, and experienced. This allows the body, it does not guide the body, it simply holds two children’s hands and tells them now do what you will, and trusting that they will know the path to reconciliation.
Severing. It is not where we want to be with our being and bodies. And forceful healing is not healing at all. Let it do its work بإذن الله.
Dubai, 12 July 2023, 21 Dhul Hijja 1444. I end the hijri year with and intention, to absorb this knowledge, apply it, and pass it on, and may الله Allah keep me steady on this path if at all it holds the benefit I intend and beyond what I can foresee.
الحمد لله

THE COMPANIONS OF THE PROPHET (PBUH) : Abdullah bin Abdullah bin Ubayy (r.a.)
Hz. Abdullah was from Madinah. He became a Muslim before the Migration. His real name was Hubab. The Prophet changed his name to "Abdullah" because he did not like his name. Abdullah was adherent to the Prophet with all his heart. There was no sacrifice that he could not make for him. He participated in all wars.
Ironically, his father, Abdullah bin Ubayy, was a famous hypocrite. The reason why he did not believe was his hatred against the Messenger of Allah. For, he was one of the notables of the Khazraj tribe. He was rich and he was liked by his tribe very much. He was a knowledgeable and shrewd man. He was about to become the ruler of Madinah when the Migration took place and the Islamic State was established. This disturbed him a lot. He became an enemy of the Prophet. He did a lot of bad things to the Messenger of Allah and Muslims with the people around him. However, when they saw that the Prophet became stronger day by day, they had to say that they became Muslims. Nevertheless, they did not cease betraying Muslims when they found opportunities and demoralizing the Muslims.
For example, before the Battle of Uhud began, he returned to Madinah with his men, who constituted a third of the Islamic army. Eventually, the Islamic army was defeated.
Abdullah bin Ubayy's son, Hz. Abdullah, fought heroically in this battle and was wounded in a few places. Two of his teeth were broken. His father was very happy about it. He said,
"If you had obeyed me instead of obeying Muhammad, who acted in accordance with the views of young people, you would not have been wounded."
Hz. Abdullah was very sorry that his father was pleased with what had happened to him. He believed that there was something good in this outcome. He said to his father,
"There is certainly something good and wisdom in what Allah predestinated."
Abdullah bin Ubayy took part in Sons of Mustaliq Expedition too. His purpose was to cause mischief and disorder. He addressed the hypocrites (munafiqs) around him as follows:
“When we return to Madinah, the honored and strong ones will expel the mean and weak ones from the city. You brought them to your city; you shared your goods with them. If you had not done so and if you had treated them harshly, they would have gone somewhere else. You died for the Prophet and your children became orphans; your number decreased. Do not give zakah and sadaqah to the people around him so that they will go away.”
When Hz. Abdullah heard the statement of his father, he became very sorry. He went into the presence of the Prophet at once and said to him,
“O Messenger of Allah! If you want to kill my father for his words that I heard, order me to do it and I will bring his head to you. All of the people of Khazraj know that there is nobody among them who loves and respects their father more than I do. If you let somebody else kill him, I will not put up with it when I see the killer of my father around. I might kill a believer in return for an unbeliever and go to Hell.”
The Prophet did not allow him to do it lest it should cause some rumors. He said,
“No. We will treat your father leniently and act as friends as long as he is among us.”
Hz. Abdullah could not possibly forget the words of his father about the Messenger of Allah. He wanted to punish his father. He could not put up with it any more. He proceeded and stopped in the way of his father. He said,
“I will not let you go unless you say majesty and power belong to Allah and His Messenger!” His father was astonished. He said,
“You say you will not let me go to Madinah Is that right?” Hz. Abdullah said,
“I will kill you unless you say majesty and power belong to Allah and His Messenger.”
When the Abdullah bin Ubayy realized that his son was determined, he had to say,
“I witness that majesty and power belong to Allah, His messenger and believers.”
The Prophet became very pleased due to this attitude of Abdullah and prayed for him by saying,
“May Allah reward you with goodness!” Then, he ordered Abdullah to release his father.
Hz. Abdullah, who was a hero of belief, served Islam until he died. He took part in the Battle of Yamama in 12 H. He fought heroically there. He was wounded in a few places. Then, he became a martyr. May Allah be pleased with him!
