//I think the funniest thing about Sa being a mercenary is not that she's unfit for it... but that she uses it's reputation and dirtier parts to ignore how, at the end of the day, she's using it as a means to an ends— not for money, but 'heroism'? For better and for worse she lives to save and protect and help other people, as much as she can and as much as she's able (which is... a lot).
This ties nicely into how, by default, she works alone. Not because she necessarily has to (although it certainly helps her efficiency, in her mind: if her and her peers both want to help people, and she can do work solo... why not have them take on different jobs to help more?), or because it's emotionally simpler, but because of logistics. Her prioritizing morals and compassion means... she'll often make calls other mercenaries would hate? Taking jobs for cheap (or even no pay at all); working as much as she can instead of as much as she needs to; refusing work with high paying, immoral clients, or even finding ways to get rid of them if they're bad enough.
Hell, depending on when and where she's finding mercenary/'hunting' work, she's liable to make her money from physical labor and odd jobs, rather than what she regularly risks her life for.
It's a very odd mix between how hunters works in Sp.n (unironically, but also lol), GANGSTA's Handymen (and how they can do the work they're infamous for but... also not), and general optimism/heroics.
I suppose you could also just... compare her to an rpg protagonist who 100%s the sidequests, including and perhaps especially even mmo protagonists— sure she's got the world (proverbial or literal) to save, but why not help everyone she can along the way?
