For my final project in my Drawing 1 class, I had to choose an art piece to replicate for a masterstudy. My super cool professor was fine with me submitting Sonic-related artwork, so I chose one of the covers that @spiritsonic made for the Tangle and Whisper miniseries. I desaturated the image since the only medium we worked with in Drawing 1 was pencils, so naturally my masterstudy would be a pencil replication. This was a whole lot of fun; Evan Stanley is one of my favorite artists so of course imitating her work was a blast, and I really enjoyed practicing shading. I highly recommend doing masterstudies of any type of art you want to get better at (drawing, painting, sculpting, etc).

IAN FLYNN: [chuckles] Uh, there would be chaos because Sonic now has a new mode of transportation. He has a new- a whole new kit of maneuverability, and he is going to explore it to his heart's content. And he is going to be-- KYLE: It's also slower, though. IAN: He is slower, but he can slingshot himself, and that's fun. KYLE: That's true, okay. IAN: So he's going to be slightly more prone to running into things than Tangle already is. KYLE: [chuckles] IAN: Tangle, meanwhile, is gaga. She gets to be Sonic fast! Oh boy! KYLE: Oh, no. IAN: And so she proceeds to, y'know, take it out for a spin! [laughing] She's not very good at it! Get out of the way! KYLE: Ohhh, boy. Ohhh no. [as Tangle] "Oh no... stop! Stop! Stop!!!" [laughs]
