> Jį“sį“ į“ É¢į“į“į“. ā IDV! SELF AWARE AU
Idea is from @sethhu3u. I've been thinking about an IDV self aware au for quite a long time i must say, but just now i thought about actually writing about it. This is just a little thing that i did, i don't pretend to continue. May have some grammatical errors, hope you enjoy. (I didn't write for so long this is so shitty..)
-
It first started as silly and normal bugs, the characters you were playing with would stop suddenly. Trying to go to the contrary place that you directed with your hands, or say unusual voice lines while injured. In the lobby, they would look directly at the camera, and sometimes their expressions would change not like the normal animations. You didn't care enough, you just wanted to farm dices and enjoy the game.
But now? It was almost impossible to ignore. Playing single training you would find weird messages on post-matches, "Who are you?", "What is happening?" "WHY is this happening?". The messages would change depending on what character you were playing with, others were more aggressive, or more pleading, and it gave you chills. You tried contacting Netease, sending e-mails desperate for them to fix whatever was happening with your game, but they never solved your problem.
For them, it started when a weird force would control their bodies, it didn't matter how strong, or how weak they were. They could never escape that grasp, just a little. And then, a voice, depending on what was happening would react differently. The survivors and hunters shared similar experiences, a voice, a force...They figured it out eventually, it was a game, nothing more than a game that was bigger than they thought, an entertainment for whoever was behind it. Slowly, all of them started to break the code, with small movements, a voice line, and changing costumes. Until they could interact with this "higher being".
When they did, it was different from what they thought it would be, they seemed scared, confused just like them, how could someone like that be the creator of such a cruel game? They wanted to know more, they needed to know more, and maybe like that, all of them could leave.

IDV ARTIST AU IDV ARTIST AU
Lucky used to be a a part of this band called the Discontinued (creative. i know.) which went their separate ways because they went to different universities or whatever, with only Lucky remaining right where they left him
He's tried to make it on his own as a solo act, but its never worked out. He starts thinking that the Discontinued were the ones carrying him when he should've been pulling his own weight like the rest of them, making him lose his confidence and passion in music
I havent decided if they were independent or if they were under a label (Oletus), but in the end Lucky ends up working under Oletus in the fucking. PR team or whatever. Makes sure that they dont get into scandals or get cancelled bc one of their artists decided to post something stupid
And everything is fine and dandy! Lucky barely interacts with any of them, they dont seem to know about his existence, and the media is happy with the banger songs that Oletus's groups create
At first.
Because suddenly, at the dead of night, one of them posts on their social media a very blurry picture of Lucky, who seems to be holding out a coffee to the one behind the camera. Captioning it with only a single red heart.
Basically Lucky accidentally become internet famous by becoming the "Oletus employee cryptid" that every survivor/hunter has posted about at LEAST once with a blurry picture to match
(The Discontinued going on about their lives scrolling through social media only to spit when they see whats on trending because THEYD RECOGNIZE THOSE FRECKLES AND GLASSES EVEN WITH THE FUCKASS BLUR!!!)

SYNOPSIS: An embalmer like her shouldn't have decided to entertain the woes of the novelist, yet here she is, letting them take a photo to commemorate their recent winning match.
CW/s: Nothing to note. Implied harm, ferrylady has been treated though, embalming (I guess?), just a nice fluff starter.
NOTE: My first entry for @i23kazu's EBG and its for ferrylady. I don't exactly know her name or what she's called, but I decided "why not make one for her?" lol. I am also getting back to writing sfw again, but I doubt this will get much (I'm busy with college but I'll be fine). Anyways, enjoy as I delve into madness. (IDV AU)
The embalmer is never a welcoming sight for survivors. For them, she was an anomaly of sorts, and it was understood by the manor residents to never, ever get near her.
So why, in Nightingale's name, is this pesky novelist bothering her?
"You know, you're simply wasting your time trying to speak to me," the embalmer inquired, causing the novelist to chuckle and shake their head in response. "Oh, please. You speaking to me now is an achievement of it's own!"
"An achievement... For you?"
"Mhm. You don't speak to other survivors, miss embalmer. And yet here you are, speaking to me when you swore that you'd never think of doing such a thing."
"That is precisely because you're bothering me."
"If I was, you'd stop talking to me."
The embalmer sighed. Perhaps reasoning with the novelist is unattainable, and yet she couldn't find it in herself to simply turn them away. Maybe she didn't want to admit that, in a way, they were right.
Standing at the open exit gate, she looked over at them, examining their appearance. Despite being a novelist, their appearance made her think that they ought to have fit to be an educator.
What an irony. She'd ought to correct herself for that.
"What's up?"
"Hm?"
"You were staring at me for a while, you know," they pointed out, poking at her cheek with a cheeky grin. "Don't tell me you're enamored~"
"Wā absolutely not," the embalmer hissed, making them laugh.
"Right, right... Hey, since the hunter's busy, why don't wā"
The moment was interrupted with their heart beating... Rapidly, that is. And the sound of a faint whistle of wind, their heart rate going faster when they heard the yells from the mercenary.
"Get out!" he yelled. "The hunter's here!"
Noticing the looming danger, the embalmer stood in place. However, all it took was the novelist grabbing her wrist, pulling her through the gate with them and onwards, back to the manor.
"Let's go!"
It didn't took long until they managed to come around, but to the embalmer, she swore by the gods that getting dragged for hours by someone that you (barely) tolerate is not fun.
Still, as they relaxed by the manor and being tended by Jean (the doctor, who swore she'd stop but still continues to treat both factions, she looked at them trying to reason with her and getting scolded.
...
How odd.
No one really knew the ferrylady's name. Actually, all they knew was her past occupation: ferrylady. They had ended up calling her 'Charon' because of her reluctance to it all, and she couldn't blame them.
She didn't find them trusting enough to know her identity.
However, as she sat with bandages all around her body and the novelist laughing off the doctor's worries, her face seem to lose its original annoyance.
The novelist was a daring little one, but she couldn't deny that she found them interesting. Maybe if they weren't stuck in a manor... They'd be friends. Close ones, too.
Alas, she couldn't trust them. She didn't knew what led them to such a place, anyway.
Looking down at the camera, her brows furrowed in thought.
...
"Hey, what'cha got there, miss embalmer?"
She couldn't help but scream.
"Whoops! Forgot you're easily spooked. Sorry about that."
"Warn me next time, you damned novelist!"
Despite them saying they would (while holding back bits of their giggles as they were a living sadist), the embalmer scoffed and simply shook her head in disapproval.
Once again, she is reminded of why she found them insufferable, even if she simply ignored the faint click of a photo taken of two friends bonding after one rough match.
Just as they have always been.
Right?

just out of curiosity, is the shuichi and kaede talentswap based off of the idv crossover? they gave the novelist in idv a shuichi skin and the journalist (whose power is based on cameras) a kaede skin so i immediately thought of idv when i saw the talentswap. absolute banger btw
wow really? I had no idea when I was making the talentswaps, that's so cool! all the talentswaps in this au are from the other two games, including kaede and shuichi. the basic idea is: "team danganronpa" are followers of junko and want to use students with the same talents as people who "betrayed her" to see if it's their talents that made them come back from despair
other talents of students yet to be drawn include: gymnast tenko, traditional dancer angie (taualuga instead of japanese traditional dance), clairvoyant korekiyo, and musician miu!
I wanted to make sure I picked fitting talents that would still fit their personality while giving them new interesting dynamics (like princess kirumi for instance, who isn't in a servant position but has duties and obligations to others in an entirely new way). it's wild how close i was to something danganronpa officially did! I'll take that as a sign I'm on the right track with my choices
#the reality show premise is still there but it's made up to cause more despair#anything further than that would be spoilers for the au :3c#that's so wild though i didn't know those were the character choices for the idv crossover#really happy that my little project is more accurate to their vision than i thought!#danganronpa#ndrv3#danganronpa v3#talentswap#danganronpa killing harmony#gamer ouma au

IDV AU Masterlist
I think Masterlist is the correct term?
Anyways, all the IDV AUās I got at the moment-
Normal IdV AU: So this is my normal IdV AU! Obviously. Ehehe. This one is similar to the game, where they play these dangerous games with the goal of a grand prize. It differs in the character backstories however! Some of these new changes are:
Lucky Guy: In the original game, we donāt know his reasons for playing in such a dangerous game, only that he played in it. Heās known for being the stand in for the detective during the tutorials (as Leo is for the hunter) and the guy doesnāt have much personality. In my AU, Luckster gets an invitation to the manor after an incident that resulted in him losing his memory (and basically his identity lol) which he is offered help with figuring out who he was before everything happened if he played their games. Spoilers, Luckster has no choice but to go.
Aesop Carl: In the original game, itās noted AesopāsĀ āmentorā was a serial killer, and Aesop himself had assisted in these murders. He found the manor invite off the person of a woman he had embalmed. In my AU, Aesop still basically helped commit murder, but instead of finding the invite kind of randomly, he meets the Manorās owner in person, where the owner employs Aesop to embalm the corpses of former participants of their game. Aesop acts more like staff than a participant, but he is still allowed to play in the games. The hunters just arenāt allowed to kill him/let him bleed out. Rocket chair is fine though. (Melissa hates that Aesop has special privileges, she wants to kill him so badly sometimes, this man is so sassy and so snarky and she hates it)
Luca Balsa: I dive into his story a lot more in the Death AU actually! But basically, Luca is blamed for the death of the inventor, goes to prison, gets bailed out and receives manor invite and is tempted solely by the money. In my AU, Luca never got to work of his own choice, and didnāt get to work on his own inventions. He was a prisoner to his work, quite literally. His mentor ran a lot of different experiments on Luca, one of which caused Luca to be able to conduct and control electric currents, instead of the incident being the cause of it. Also this man is like, super touch-starved because his mentor never let him out of the estate. Luca was treated more like an object than a human. The invitation to the manor, to Luca, was an acknowledgement that Luca indeed was a person, and it allowed Luca to do the things Luca wanted to do.Ā
Also, the more games they play (and win) the more money they get, and depending on their score depends on how much money they get.
IdV Death AU (Normal): If youāve ever looked at any of my IdV content, you should know about this AU. This is basically the āTimmy murders a bunch of IdV characters she loves starting with Nort and making her way down the listā AU because itās an AU that follows certain ghosts (Like Norton and Luca) and certain humans (Naib and Edgar) and to get certain characters as ghosts, I have to kill them. Sorry Norton š¤·š»āāļø
Here is a more detailed post for this AU. Itās also called the fantasy AU sometimes cause Iām dumb and canāt keep consistent naming.
IdV Racer AU: This is an AU based off the COA IV trailer, as well as incorporating the COA III suits! It takes place before the final race, a couple races before it actually. The moments from before the final race, is told as a flashback by Mike, and after the final race with the COA III team would be ārealityā. As for the 5 suits in the essence (Molten Hound/Gamekeeper, Pumping Tires/Acrobat, Fueling Agent/Barmaid, Highway Cavalier/Prospector, and Reflective Mirror/Priestess) and the COA III suits (Netherwalker/Smiley Face, Puppeteer/Mechanic, Whiplash/Cowboy, Trickster/Embalmer, Surveyor/Seer and Vile Blossom/Female Dancer.) Here are the breakdown of the individual suits and their roles.
Molten Hound/Gamekeeper: Bane serves as a challenge for Norton, Demi and Fiona, and has chains on the 3 of them. Out of the three of them, Norton has the most chains on him. Their lives belong to him. And over the years, theyāre trying their hardest to break the chains Bane has on them. Itās only after Mike, not bound by Baneās chains, gets involved that they get their freedom from Bane. Bane notes that there will be more challengers after him, and becomes a spectator to their journey after defeated. He even trains them to be better.
Pumping Tires/Acrobat: Unlike the others, Mike is unbound by Baneās chains, meaning heās free to do whatever heās like. Growing up in the circus, after a terrible incident that leaves only two survivors, Mike grew up wild, jumping from hyperfixation to hyperfixiation, not caring how well a job paid or not. He always got himself into trouble, and often acted without thinking (such as crashing his car into Baneās, and drowning in the river because of his actions) which causes a bit of trouble and panic for the others. Before COA, he was known as a very famous acrobat named Mr. Swifts and was well known for his disappearing juggling acts and incredible flexibility. He joined the COA IV team towards the beginning of their final races against Bane, and he was able to bridge the gap because of his chain free status, which helped earn Norton, Demi and Fiona their freedoms, even if it meant giving up his own life. He gets along well with everyone, he isnāt really disturbed by their āstrangeā habits as other racers are, he finds them very interesting. If anything, he considers himself stranger. He doesnāt give his own life much consideration, heās too busy trying to save other peopleās lives. He would gladly lay down his life to make sure other people could live theirs without fear, and that shows up till his last appearance in the COA IV race, in which the aftermath has him meeting the COA III group. Donāt worry, he reunited with his newly freed friends... after almost a year. The two COA teams see different sides of him. With the COA III team, he gets an outfit similar to the one Vile Blossom wears instead of his COA IV racer outfit or his Mr. Swifts outfit.
Fueling Agent/Barmaid: Demi grew up with the other two COA III racers (Norton and Fiona) and is one of the racers Bane has chains on. She doesnāt really have her own free will, and has (unwilling) done some terrible things, such as sabatoging the engines of other cars. It was her who introduced Mike to the gang initially as one of Baneās plans to torment the trio, seeing as Mike was pretty well known in the community in general for being a sole Acrobat (He was known as Mr. Swifts at the time) and having something bad happen to a celebrity like him could spell bad news for the crew. Little did Bane know, Mike isnāt the typical celebrity. Far from it. Demi became really interested in Mike after first meeting him, and Bane twisted Demiās feelings of admiration and crushing into almost an obsession that prevented her from properly functioning (aka daydreaming while driving, dangerous stuff like that) while makes Mike a bit uneasy, but he seems to get over it rather quickly. Like, really quickly. Demi often is the one tending to Norton and Fionaās wounds, as she doesnāt seem to get hurt as badly. She gets really emotional at times, going from one emotional extreme to another one. She can be unsettlingly happy one moment to extremely angry the next for no reason.
Highway Cavalier/Prospector: Norton has had the most experiences with Baneās control. Heās also one of the few people Bane has used to make an example out of (the scar of his face) to instill fear into the others. Heās suffered through a lot trying to win his freedom and his friendās freedom, but no matter what he does, he canāt break Baneās chains. Not alone at least. When Mike is introduced to the trio by Demi, Norton can almost hear Baneās thoughts. He knows Bane wants to hurt Mike to get the trio to do something or to get the public to act a certain way towards them, he just knows Baneās intentions arenāt good. So he distances himself, he tries to drive Mike away so that Bane canāt use them to hurt him, but his harsh exterior is pretty quickly and easily broken by Mike. He goes from tolerating Mike to starting to enjoying Mikeās presence, although heās very hesitant letting Mike race with them (cause of Bane and all), he generally is very open to hanging out with Mike. Norton gets hurt a lot, before forces himself to keep going, because in his mind, no matter what he goes through, itāll be worth it when he earns his freedom. Bane likes to hold this over his head, and more times than not, Nortonās in critical condition and depressed by the end of it.
Reflective Mirror/Priestess: Fiona is very cold and closed-off. She used to be this upbeat, outgoing friendly figure, but Baneās broken her to the point she feels everyone is out to get her. She often feels like everyone is using her, and only through confirmation from Norton and Demi is she able to get over this type of mentality. Sheās also very unsure about Mike, but for different reasons than Norton. She feels like Mike is hiding something, she has this image of Mike that isnāt what the other two have. She doesnāt really mind Mike but she doesnāt trust him. It isnāt till Mike saves her after Bane crashes her car initially that Fiona realizes Mike isnāt all bad. Fiona still stays a bit cold towards Mike, but Mike doesnāt really care. Although, the Mike Fiona sees is more of a hidden personality, and the Mike Demi and Norton sees is more of Mikeās surface personailty. Being a priestess has granted her many abilities, after all.
Netherwalker/Smiley Face: Similar to Bane, he serves as a challenge. Heās a bit worse than Bane if Iām honest, he exceeds in mental torture instead of physical torture. He often messes with peopleās thoughts, as well as the way the see the world. He acts like a hallucination almost. He can reveal himself to whoever he decides, and uses it to drive the COA III team insane almost. He often overlooks everyone, and takes pride in his abilities. A certain acrobatās actions catches his eyes though... needless to say, he is not prepared to deal with Mike. No one ever is. Heās able to strike up deals, and is very convincing. Knowing Mike was the one who broke the Molten Houndās chains interests him, he wants to see how far he can push Mike before Mike shatters. He makes a deal, to bring him back to life to discover the truth, but awakens a much darker side of Mike in the process, corrupting the Acrobat as a result.
Puppeteer/Mechanic: Being a very curious soul, Tracy struggled to understand the predicament she found herself in. Tormented by the Netherwalker, she is driven crazy by everything she doesnāt know. On top of that, when a certain Acrobat arrives (assumed dead at first), this just adds to her frustration. Yet sheās curious, intrigued by what happened to him.
āHe looks like a racer, no?ā
āDid you hear about that big incident on the racetrack? One of the racers swerved off the race track and straight into the ocean. They never found a body, you think this may be him?ā
āI heard he wasnāt even a racer, but a jack of all traits. He did whatever he wanted, most famous for being an acrobat.ā
āHow curious... I wonder if he survived his trip.ā
Sheās obsessed with finding out what happened to Mike, as well as the COA IV team, and itās this burning desire to uncover the truth that brings the two COA teams together. So ya... Mikeās recklessness and Tracyās curiosity is what brought the two teams together.
Whiplash/Cowboy: The poor guy has no idea whatās going on. He goes out for an hour and comes back to a washed up body, and Tracy making a new journal dedicated to finding out the truth. Heās very serious, very protective over the whole group. Heās rather levelheaded, yet once you get to know him, he shows his softer side. He isnāt that phased by the Netherwalkerās attempts to break him, but heās always concerned for his companions. Heās also pretty knowledgeable, he keeps up with the news a lot.
Trickster/Embalmer: Aesop is very gentle in the way he goes about things. He is careful with what he says, and often hides things from the others. Heās very cryptic, and often twists things to sound worse/better than they are. Puppeteer hates it when he does this, because it shows he knows the truth of the incident and heās purposely withholding it from her. More times than not, he gets in trouble for it. But after Mikeās arrival, it almost seems like the play field has flipped. Heās no longer the one in control. Heās just as clueless as the rest of the COA III team. And that is what drives him mad. No Netherwalker involved. Yet.
Surveyor/Seer: Eli chooses to see the world from a birdās eye view. He comes at every issue objectively, and often will lean in whatever direction is better to his advantage. Itās Brooke Rose who finds Mike a couple minutes after he washes up on shore. At this point, Eli can tell Mike is no longer among the living, yet he can feel something special about him, so he (painstakingly) drags Mike to the others. Like Aesop, Eli knows things that the others donāt because of the way he can choose to view the world, but he doesnāt tend to hide it. He only says what he thinks is important. He is very thrown off by the whole situation. In the end, Eliās the one who takes up The Netherwalkerās offer to bring Mike back with the intention of learning why Mike was brought to them. In Eliās mind, there has to be a reason, right? There always was. He eventually gets everyone else on board too.
Vile Blossom/Female Dancer: Margaretha knew Mike before everything happened, and to Margaretha, it all seems to happen at once. From losing her only job to becoming her favorite poetryās champion, she didnāt have time to wonder. She knows she left Mike all alone, she takes full responsibility for what happened to him. Of what he became. Margaretha was like a motherly figure to Mike, she let him down. She would do anything to make it right. She knows that when the Netherwalker offers to revive her deceased companion, that he isnāt doing it with kind intentions, yet she wants to know his story, she wants to know what happened, for different reasons than everyone else. She oversees Mike while heās in the care of the COA III team.
IdV Cameras AU:Ā In this AU, Joseph is the most powerful, as implied by the cameras in the name. It basically explores the pasts of the characters in the Death/Fantasy AU, as well as exploring different character paths entirely if he tweaked small things (like having Xie Biāan come back before Fan drowns, or having Luca bailed out before he gets hanged.) to use those versions of those characters. He can create custom versions of whatever character he so pleases, and then use them to his advantage. It can be a precursor to the Death AU, but in this AU in particular, he explore these alternative paths to see where they led, finding out some things (like the inventorās death, as well as Fanās death) are inevitable.

š¢ššØšØššš ā self aware idv au
a/n: i woke up at 5:30 am to give yāall a self-aware yandere idv au. iāve seen it for genshin and even twisted wonderland, but not really idv (let alone for milgram)??? anyway have reader being fucking creeped out writing this during morning rank <3 brain rot is strong today. i adore eli, but he ended up being the main perpetrator of being absolutely terrifying im sorry. anyway might do a part 2 if it's well liked enough!!
rating: sfw
reader: gender neutral, no pronouns used
trigger and content warnings: yandere, not beta read, unhealthy + toxic behaviours/relationships, mentions of nausea/food, anxiety, eli is super scary in a self aware au im sorry, self aware characters, implied stalking (sort of?)
you first noticed it during a practice bot match. you hadnāt been lucky enough to pull the ālittle girlā from her essence, so you ended up grinding for clues and fragments- thanks, poor impulse control- and wanting to test her out. after a couple hours, the character and her b-tier were yours. in the practice match, the server bot lineup was simple- seer, coord, and merc. you didnāt know what the hunter bot was, not yet. you hoped it was a hell ember, if only for the fact that hell ember bots felt easier to kite than others. the map ended up being the asylum, which wasā¦ good and bad. at least you were navigating it as a survivor and not a hunter.
you end up teleporting to merc first, in the game, and sync with him. he had the biggest decoding debuff, and any rescuer could use her buffs the little girl gave. while you waited for calibrations to pop up, you were spraying graffiti. there wasnāt much else to do, so you were just messing around at this point. what gave you an unsettled feeling in your stomach was that the merc botā¦ sprayed back.
surely your eyes- they had to be playing tricks on you, right? you blinked for a second, and then the deduction star merc graffiti was gone. you didnāt even notice you had been holding your breath until you exhaled with relief- and missed a calibration. you winced and mumbled an apology to the bot, decided to just swivel the camera angle and focus on your surroundings.
the rest of the match went pretty smoothly- until detention kicked in, that is. merc ended up knocked down, and you thought you were done for. that is, if it werenāt for the eli botās perfectly timed owl. it made you swallow nervously. youād stopped playing for a while, with your phone out of commission, but it had been less than a week. last you checked, seer bots seldom owled after the first kite- let alone well. it just.. made you feel unwell.
everyone managed to get out fine, though. you sighed in relief, seeing that you had gotten a message after the practice round.
Eli||Clark.: Good morning. How are you?
[username]: uhh [username]: hi [username]: im ok ig [username]: sorry if this is rude, but who are you?
Eli||Clark: Iām hurt, [name].
okay, that made you want to upchuck whatever was in your stomach- water, coffee, and a bagel- and turn off the game.
[username]: not funny, whoever you are. bye.
and with that, you tried to block whoever this.. weird eli main was. no one you knew in real life played idv, let alone maining eli while they were at it. you found it easier said than done, however. since the block button was gone, evidently. that only made your growing unease (and nausea) worse. you were starting to shake a little bit, and you decided it was enough idv for the day.
you couldnāt close it. you couldnāt close it, and at this point whatever little was left of your rationality was lost by the fact that you couldnāt close it, hot tears welling in your eyes as you saw yet another message pop on the screen.
Eli||Clark: Stop avoiding me, please. All I want to do is talk.
outside the complete and utter dread and horror consuming your brain, you managed one small, bitter thought. bullshit.

Identity V x Danganronpa
read it on the AO3 at https://ift.tt/39COh42
by tired_saint
'Where am I?'
That was the first coherent thought that went through Emma Woodsā mind when she woke up. She wasnāt in her own bed, or anywhere else she recognized, for that matter. The room she was in was completely barren, save for the bed she was in for some reason, a door, a TV, and a camera, which only caused more questions to spring into her mind.
Emma had heard about people getting kidnapped and having their organs harvested plenty of times, especially young women like herself, but her common sense didnāt stop her from approaching the door.
Basically it's an IDV Danganronpa AU
