there was an anime i was watching a while back but i cannot remember what it was called it was from the 90s about a detective tbh i was watching it in japanese while drawing a lot so idr much but the mc was a guy and the inciting incident had something to do w a woman who was looking for a friend and/or sister there might have been ghosts and the art was so gorgeous so if anyone knows anything itd be a real help ok thanks 💕

Tidbit 20!! (still Riddle edition):

I believe the inciting incident for the Heartslabyul book parallels Riddle's trauma frfr B)

Someone else probably noticed this, but I'm slow with these things (believe it or not, I'm not the best at critical thinking, I just take notes and that's it) so I was kinda proud I noticed it

However, it started bc I was showing my non-twstie friends Riddle's flashback in the game and the manga (the last Heartslabyul manga released the other day and I got it so I was showing them) and one of them commented "Bestie just ate a tart, why are you [his mom] reacting like this??" And I was like "Bestie.... Ate a tart... Overreaction..."

So, as we know, the inciting incident(?) for Heartslabyul was Ace eating the tart and getting collared. The reason Riddle was barred from seeing his friends again was because he snuck out and ate a tart. He wasn't allowed to eat tarts bc they were too sugary.

Idr the phrasing exactly, but he became the Housewarden a little after school started; his overblot happens like the 3rd week of school; and he turns 8, makes his first friends, and loses them and his independent study in another week or two. That's insane ;v;

I do want to go more broadly into the timeline for twst to see how quickly everything goes. Hopefully, it won't be too hard since dreams play a big role in the story. Also, I'm only a Riddle (and sometimes Diasomnia) expert, so lmk if you notice any other parallels between the others' trauma and the inciting incidents. I can't see any off the top of my head, but it also took 5 rereads to figure this out, so :(
